Every scenario you mentioned above would be something I would immediately dodge, if I were given the foreknowledge. All three of the most boring killers DbD has to offer. Why they are buffing Thana on top of base gen times is beyond my comprehension.
-
How 32 forum users (based on OP’s upvotes) are this delusional is staggering.
-
I think not. Three hooks is challenging enough for a lot of the killer roster. Not to mention it would require reworking a core feature of the game, and a lot of associated perks.
-
I’d be afraid to buy it.. might get removed from my account. 🤐

Oh yes, cause selfcare was a good before the nerf
It was.
-
Yeah, new players really shouldn’t have to struggle their way to simply have four perk slots and a couple dozen perks to choose from (i.e. a fighting chance in their matches).
-
My idea? Nerf WGLF to 50% healing speed on slugs (100% is crazy fast), and buff Desperate Measures to have a bit faster healing speed on slugs and even faster unhooks than it currently does. That way it can have a competitive advantage in the realm of healing perks.
Let’s not forget Solidarity or Resurgence, though...
-
Even though its activation conditions are kinda meh, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for Fire Up.
-
Killing perks just to change the meta is stupid. We want more perk options, not less.
-
Do bones.
And gens. 😉

Iron will is the best Non exhaustion perk in the game and anyone who thinks otherwise needs a reality check,, perk is way too strong for how simple it is to get value from it, rightfully nerfed though I still think they need to make it work even when exhausted even at half capacity, it's a huge no no no for sprint burst users
Requires being and staying injured for any value, doesn’t stop scratch marks, doesn’t stop blood trails, doesn't stop running sounds, doesn’t stop killer instinct, doesn’t stop screaming, doesn’t stop aura reading, doesn’t stop eyesight. Doesn’t work while infected against Plague or Nemesis. It literally only stops groans of pain. For that one effect, it better be good at it.
It was balanced, minus stopping regular breathing sounds. Now we’ll probably never see it.
Ugh, thanks for reminding us! Didn’t this last event one specifically require being injured close to the killer too?

The terror radius covers a lot of the map. I've been hit with Starstruck, far far away from a Nurse. Plus lets not mention Agitation/Starstruck combos, where a Nurse carries someone through half the map, then one-hit downs people.
This has to be bait. Her terror radius is 32m, Agitation makes that 44m. From the wiki: "The average Map has a size of 150 square Tiles or 9591 m2. The largest Map in the Game is Mother's Dwelling with 188."
She'll have to sacrifice not getting a hook, to go for someone else who is exposed - allowing the other survivors to eventually pick the slug up.

If a Nurse drops a survivor close to you, you don't have time to run out of her blink distance. I assume you are saying that you can.
You know she has Starstruck as soon as she picks a survivor up and you are in her TR. It can surprise you exactly once per trial. Maybe that will result in one down, if you can't outrun her. Otherwise, it's entirely a survivor error.

Against regular killer? yes. Against a killer who can teleport the entire starstruck distance and her ability attacks don't count as special attacks, so they one hit down? No.
Have you tried not showing her yourself once it triggers the first time, then staying away/running from downed survivors once you know she has it?

Maybe? Either way it was a significant change and I feel the game was never quite the same afterwards. Also I miss when killers and survivors had the same hit boxes and there was no looping.
That's an interesting take. A lot of players (self included) are upset with it only being 60 seconds still after all these years. Survivors are still being forced into second stage because of camping, without enough time to do all the generators and gates.
-
@Vetrathene said:
I miss when hook states only took 30 seconds instead of a minute. It made it so you had to make quick and important decisions as a survivor to either finish a gen or go rescue your friend on the hook. I miss old trapper traps with hit boxes that actually blocked off avenues of escape instead of doing basically nothing.
Was it really only 30 seconds? I thought it was bumped up from 45 to 60, could be wrong though.
Edit: It was 45. From the wiki: "Increased the Summoning Phase and Struggle Phase duration from 45 seconds each to 60 seconds each."

So survivors deserve free escapes from OTR? And NOED got nerfed already, it already had counter play, now it has more. And I never use it anyways, it was always a risky perk and even more now. OTR in its current state at end game has no counter play, and is the true free escape over the gamble of NOED.
As much as I hate NOED (even with its upcoming minor nerf), this man has it right.

It's all I do as survivor.
That's interesting. You see no issue with camping remaining unchanged, while increasing repair times; some of the perks that help solo the most being nerfed into oblivion; faster killer action speeds; and less survivor distance being made after hits?

Changes, yes. Devastating?
Besides OTR that seems strong and maybe Overcharge (I didn't test it personally but went against it) I didn't see anything that looked "devastating".
Do you ever play solo survivor? Or care for those who do?

Thet's the whole utility of it, isn't it? Like, if I see a hex totem while I'm being chased I can drop a beam of light on it so someone hopefully will go check there and destroy it, or maybe I need to leave a 80% completed gen
Most people I've seen using it use it just for memes though, they either spam it while they run, or move it around randomly
Exactly. You can safely assume it’s a gen they want you to work on, or a totem to cleanse.. but you don’t really know until you go. It’s totally screwed by indoor maps too. They should buff it to be an aura.

mhm, yep. totally agree. nothing wrong with a good ole starstruck nurse
I can’t remember the last time I went down to a Nurse in one hit. Maybe a surprise Devour Hope? Are you two perhaps being too greedy for saves, or careless?
Starstruck is the most counterable exposed perk in the game.
-
Nah. It’s perfectly fair that she can use exposed perks.
-
That kinda goes against the name/concept behind the perk though. I’d settle for it still working as is, but for both hook states on a pausable 60-second timer. And it also needs to be shown on the HUD of other survivors when you’re hooked (faded when inactive, lit up with the red timer bar while active).

Well, what is the info it gives? None, other than that the person with the add-on wanted everyone else to see or do something at the marker location.
-
Saw was mine. They’ve become utterly grindy and unfun, you have to play DbD for a living to complete these Rifts in time. Not to mention that was during the height of the cheater pandemic; I wasn’t going to waste time trying to have a fair and fun match during that.

With all the complaining shes getting, i'm pretty sure She's getting nerfed.
And she isnt balance, and her being "hard" to play doesnt justify her being this broken mess.
Only nurse mains defend her.. this gives me old spirit flashbacks
Survivor main here, don't play Nurse too much (just dailies and Rift challenges); and yet it's obvious for me that she is still balanced. Do I really need to copy paste the same thing every thread? So annoying.
- Slowest base movement speed of all killers - the only to actually move slower than a running survivor
- Gives clear audio and visual cues of all she is doing
- Fatigue after every blink (longer for a missed attack)
- Blink charge time
- Blink recharge time
- Heavily punished for miscalculating a blink
- Fairly add-on dependent (particularly for inexperienced Nurse players)

Nurse literally disables an entire function of the game with pallets tho. And despite her being "Nerfed for balance years ago." it's crazy how she's still not balanced.
Nurse can be pallet stunned and juked at pallet just like any other killer, so I'm not sure what you mean.
If you actually care to see and learn, here's another forum user's upload. Go to the 58 second mark. The chad stuns a Nurse mid-blink, dumb techs her, and gets away. He is running no exhaustion perk. The Nurse ended the match with two hooks.
P.S. - I can tell other people don't really want to hear the truth, because the video has only four views after me suggesting this in yet another "Wah Nurse!" thread.

Iron Will was fine. It shouldn’t have been touched. It’s useless now.
The only thing it needed was to not stop regular breathing sounds. That would have been the perfect fix. Now, it joins the perk graveyard instead. Seriously curious to see how many survivor players are quitting after this "update".

speaking of dc's. I'm finding that a lot of people really hate Plague.
At least I can heal against a Nurse. Plague disables an entire function in the game, like a third of survivor perks and medkits, and gets free health states just because of her basekit. Real neat!

As a killer main who patrols end game and I've had matches where the killer camps hard end game, the survivors should have counters to end game camping. So no, it should not deactivate. You shouldn't be guaranteed a kill end game
Survivors have plenty of other resources besides 80 seconds of endurance in the end game. They shouldn't be guaranteed a free escape because of a perk either. Again, I point to new DS deactivating end game. Doesn't seem to follow suit that OTR does.

OTR is fine, dont tunnel and you'll never have to deal with it
Should not activate in the end game, and possibly deactivate after a full heal by another survivor. Same reason DS doesn't work in the end game anymore, doesn't make sense OTR would.

That build is not so great for aura reading unless you puke on him from second 1, Lethal consumes 1 token and thats it, if you puked on him the stacks would be chomped on less than 20 seconds, you cant regain them that fast to overcome the nonstop vomit reveal, which is the problem with Distortion, the effect is great but we are so used to only having to deal with BBQ than we forget how fast other aura reveal things trigger.
Myers with the "Reveal aura at EW1/EW2" can eat the 4 stacks in no time and it isnt the only thing, Undying, Darkness Revealed, Nurse's Calling etc.
Doesn't it not consume another token until the 10 seconds of blocking have passed? So you are already halfway back to another token if you stay in the terror radius (for EWII anyways. You won't be getting tokens back against a Scratched Mirror Myers).
-
Unlimited aura blocking is so strong, I don't care if it's three or four tokens. That's crazy.

@Dsnooz said:
Knowing that BT is basekit means that if you have two health states, you should be able to outplay the killer. (When dealing with face-camping)
It's only an issue if you go for the hook save while injured.
Five second base kit BT. Is that enough time to reasonably reach a tile from every hook? Don't think so. OTR will be a necessity for every survivor.
-
@Emeal said:
You are telling me basekit BT does not help with Camping? You are kidding me.
No, it doesn't. BT/endurance helps combat tunneling - going for someone who just got off hook. Camping involves killers preventing an unhook to begin with. See the difference?
Survivors have two perks to combat camping right now: Kindred, and Camaraderie (Kinship). Kindred only provides information that SWF already has; Camaraderie is such garbage it isn't worth utilizing. If it were buffed to work how I suggested earlier in this thread, then survivors could have a decent anti-camp perk. But right now, the options are very poor. When there needs to be base kit measures to discourage it in the first place.
-
@Bran said:
Now that it's being said out loud, maybe it should work while carrying survivors 🤔
It wouldn't allow any distance to be made for the survivor who is rescued from the killer's grasp. Same problem we're going to have with the upcoming DS nerf on a lot of killers. So basically a wasted pallet.

They didn't Nerf the stun they reverted it back to what it was before enduring was fixed. DS always had a 3 sec stun before enduring was buggedand OtR is rumored to work on first unhook only
Sigh. Survivors really can't have nice things against unfun/scummy playstyles, can they?

She probably still has lowest kill rate, she struggle if you can break line of sight when I play her some survivors stay in the open and are predictable. Sometimes you can loop her for a long time just with 2-3 walls next to each other.
I think it's the same problem than spirit it's not very fun to play against a good one if she can guess your next moves, it's probably not OP just frustrating, if anything nerf the add ons not nurse
At least I can see where a Nurse intends to blink, and can plan accordingly. Always. Unlike Spirit. Spirit is like Nurse on easy mode.

There are way more examples of this then you think. Old slinger, huntress spring to mind. Aura reading is actually busted on a lot of killers. Look at the nerf to compound 31 on blight all seeing eye on wraith. Aura reading perks on a killer that dosent need baseline gen regression perks to keep up take a lot of the challenge out and are broken. Nurse just has more time to abuse them.
Side note make your choices on hag and dredge is a free exposed effect and can immediatly be abused alongside aura reading. There are even more examples of niche perks that get very unfair within niche situations like doctor with thin long range shock with old thrill of the hunt hex builds or play with your food tombstone myers.
Also unfair busted crap like map offerings. (Balanced landing haddonfield anyone?) Med kits green speed add ons and charges. There are so many busted things im dbd thats kinda the appeal. Being analytical about dbd would give anyome a migraine at the sheer list of abuseable crap.
This right here. If anything, the lack of complaints about perks like MYC on Dredge is astounding. I’m still shocked he’s able to teleport to nearby lockers so soon after an unhook. Hag is mad.

Oh dang. The first sentence was spot on, didn’t like where the second went though. DS has arguably never been in a good state. Certainly won’t be after these nerfs!

Theres a ton of aura perks that just dont get use on any other killer than nurse (and in lesser cases Pyramid head). Perks like I'm all ears, floods of rage (to a lesser extent), hex retribution, basically any perk that let's you see survivors through walls is limited on the fact that they would be too strong on nurse. Have devs said this? No, why would they state a killer is problematic for perk balance? But anyone with an analytical view of the game has seen it, and knows its there.
Same could be said on locker perks with Huntress, Trickster, and Dredge; Thanataphobia on Legion and Plague; Enduring and Spirit Fury on M1 killers.. the list goes on. Doesn’t mean any of them are inherently unbalanced.
What’s your point? That certain perks work better on specific killers? If so, thank you for enlightening us all.
