I don't think my posts are ever beyond criticism. I make posts expecting at least some people to disagree with me every single time. its to be expected. I don't really care what you have to say. Its neither intelligent nor adds to the conversation. But what is interesting is 4 people took the time like your post. Which while I have not read every single post in this discussion, 4 upvotes is still above the norm.
A post.. that offers nothing, but a toxic attitude. Showing that a good portion of the people on this discussion are not looking for discussion, but are looking for people of their tribe, to feel validated, because people are saying the things they want to hear.
And people seriously wonder why the discourse of DBD is so broken.
What's even more interesting, is I saw a second post with another exactly the same 4 upvotes. It would be interesting if the same 4 people who liked your previous post, liked this one.
But either way. Thank you for standing as example as to why DBD has one of the largest divides in gaming communities.
If you weren’t so fragile about forum upvotes, but rather concerned about the truth and getting better as a survivor, this would be a nonissue. Your post is blatant lying. It’s been shown time and again (on this very thread of now nine pages, mind you) - both on paper and in-game - that Nurse does have plenty of counter play, and is not holding the game back. If you only stick to repairing generators nonstop in every circumstance against a Nurse hoping to win, I have zero consolation for you. A good survivor knows when it’s time to run or hide. That goes for any killer.
Lying does not help any of you that want Nurse nerfed or reworked. If you want it, fine, voice your desire for it. But don’t speak untruths trying to get there.
-
I mean, the hooks are clearly inspired by TCM, though they couldn’t get Bubba until about a year later. They’re an integral part of the core gameplay too. Removing them would require so much reworking from the ground up - the base gameplay, toolboxes, and several perks. I and many others simply want there to be a balanced, middle ground.

2 use is OP, it should stay at 5 seconds because 3 is useless, without the skillcheck and only one use, it's good enough
How is two uses OP? The killer already gets notified when DS procs, so would only be punished for reckless, hardcore tunneling the second time. We’re talking about a DS that now deactivates after 60 seconds or progressing the game - whichever comes first.
@ElleGreen said:
they just need to leave ds alone I hope the changes for it don't go through
Nah, I hope not. The end game change is fair, but it definitely needs more bite to make up for it. Also agree with others on removing the skill check. It has enough deactivation conditions as it is, and originates from a time the perk could be used on any carry.

What's the issue then ? look I only play solo or killer never in team and I'm tired of instant give up and DCs against nurse, it's literally every game, not sometimes, always. I don't blame them DCing works like a charm against her but at some point devs need to do something
she's not hard to play you're all lying
I can't make other people play Dead by Daylight. Or learn how to verse Nurse. Sorry!

dude come on I know you're a nurse main but try to be honest for once, she's EASY to play not even top 5 hardest, plenty of killers are harder and a lot less rewarding, lot of players are like me they avoid playing her because it's simply too easy
Is 1,500 blink attacks over five and a half years something a Nurse main would have? Compared to 4,100 escapes?

@rvzrvzrvz said:
Only the 5 nurse mains of this forum don't want her nerfed tbh, her addons are broken as hell and she's not hard to play that's lies, I can respect a good blight main cause that's actually hard, nurse is easy 4k every game without even trying
This guy, when I literally posted two recent personal escapes against two trying Nurses in this very thread. Also ignoring that I am a survivor main and not a Nurse main. 😂
And yeah, Blight doesn’t have any busted add-ons at all. 🙄

You could post a screenshot of several survivors escaping a nurse to prove she's balanced, and someone could post four sacrificed by her to show she's OP. You could do the same with clown. Ultimately they don't tell us much about the match and even if they did it's only one (or a few, out of very many)
Sure. I'm not a developer, so I can't share background statistics and data. Only personal experience and tips, which I've done more than once on these nerf Nurse threads. I typically provide background context/info with the screenshots too.
Just don't want to see a balanced, fun killer nerfed or reworked because of unfound complaints against her.

Why do people ever post screenshots like this like it means anything
To show Nurse is not OP and winnable, even with some of the strongest tools available to her. Take what you want from the screenshot or not, I don't care.
I did also make a detailed reply to your comment about Lethal Pursuer on Nurse earlier in the thread, but you didn't have anything to say about that.

Another fun Nurse match yesterday, resulting in another escape! She even got to pick the map this time, and brought those busted range and recharge add-ons!

I don't really feel that fits with Vigil. Vigil is strictly for status effects. It would be a nice buff to Solidarity and/or Resurgence as weaker healing perks though!

Seems like it was a bit of a team. Someone threw up the map, another had Balanced, fast heals and might have been coordinated. Me personally, I'm a pretty good Nurse. I even have compliments on my profile from my Nurse gameplays and I've even faced Twitch Streamers that are known for DBD who said I was damn good. The better the Nurse, the harder the match is for the survivors. I mean I have a video of people all who have been 2 hooked at 5 gens with literally joke perks that do literally nothing but give me bloodpoints on a swamp map. I don't use Range add-ons. I use recovery ones because they keep me in chases faster for quicker downs. The pic can show multiple things but since I wasn't there, I cannot give any real info on it. Nurse might have been bullshiting for all I know.
Let me tell you that the Nurse was trying the whole match. You can tell by the blood points that they didn't give up or farm. As well as the perk and add-on loadout. You don't have to believe me, but that's the truth.
I ended up only taking a protection hit and a hit during an unsafe unhook - hence the large amount of remaining charges on my beefy medkit in the end game. Didn't end up needing it at all.

I play Nurse. I know her add-ons very well and I know the ones that I USE all the time because they provide a great benefit without losing memory of her range. I've also faced her multiple times as survivor. All 3 need to be removed. If not, guess what? I'll keep playing her until everyone cannot stand her even more. Feel free to say what you like. Its a discussion. Every point is valid so don't discredit mine with nonsense. Thank you.
Any thoughts on the match outcome I posted on page two of this thread? With the green recharge and lessened fatigue add-ons equipped?

Perks should never have offered bonus bloodpoints to begin with - it creates an absolute must-have perk that you're shooting yourself if you don't take. Removing these in the same update where everyone is offered far more bloodpoints / BP efficiency to balance how everyone has gotten used to these is a good move.
Unless you're strictly speaking WGLF and BBQ & Chili, that's simply not true. I don't know many killer players who run Distressing and Beast of Prey or Thrill of the Hunt only for the bonus blood points; or Prove Thyself only for the extra co-op bloodpoints. Heck, a lot of people chose not to run WGLF on the survivor side of things, because of how inconsistent getting stacks was. Especially before it had it's secondary effect of healing slugs twice as fast.

How can a killer be held hostage? Only situation that comes to mind is the locker flashlight thingy
Two remaining survivors who refuse to do gens or give themselves up. Some maps have too many hiding places that a killer without the right power and/or Whispers will never find them. The idle crow system needs to be fixed to address this.

Gate daily ritual, fear of NOED, fear of dying and getting put into a lower MMR with worse survivor teammates.

Eh the problem is the scenario I described is not even close to the same level of unrealistic as "4 man comp squad" in a match. Its extremely common for a Nurse with double range to get a hit within 5-10 seconds of the match starting with Lethal Pursuer.
Hey Scott! I appreciate a lot of your content and viewpoints. But I’m going to have to ask how Nurse with Lethal is any more.. well, lethal, than a handful of other killers. Blight and Hillbilly can also be on top of survivors fairly quickly. Someone else earlier in the thread brought up Sadako and her teleporting power. Huntress can land early hatchets this way as well. It seems you’re unfairly targeting Nurse‘s synergy with this perk. Let’s also not forget that not every Nurse runs Lethal, and survivors have their own perks to counter it. Object of Obsession can be used to see a killer with Lethal right back at the start of the trial - and throughout it as the obsession. Distortion completely negates Lethal’s primary effect, and is getting buffed to be usable an infinite number of times with the upcoming patch. You could go an entire match blocking every single aura reading perk in a killer’s build now. That is crazy to me, as a survivor main.
You additionally bring up Infectious Fright, which also has a complete counter - Calm Spirit. That’s as arguably as bad to some people as current Iron Will with Stridor and/or Spirit. And if you don’t have Calm Spirit, you can also play smart and split up, or stealth into a locker if you suspect a nearby teammate is about to go down.
And even if a Nurse were able to get a first hit in 5-10 seconds as you suggest, does not in anyway mean the chase or game are over. The survivor could still have an exhaustion perk, and/or other perks that assist in chase.
Thoughts?
Edit: typo.

Okay and what's this gotta do with anything? Lol.
"Actually I got a 4-man escape against Nurse, so she's actually fine." -the person with a nurse pfp. Who I totally do not think is biased at all. *wink*
To repeat what I said: That doesn't magically change what's wrong with nurse.
I could just as easily go into a game against a Pig, throw it, show she 4k'd and say "So, as you can see here this Pig just got a 4k. Clearly she needs nerfed." But knowing BHVR they'd actually nerf pig.
You never answered what is wrong with Nurse; instead, you judge me simply based on my forum avatar, rather than factual evidence? Not that I expect anything less from someone who complains about one of the most balanced killers in the game.
Ok. Conversation over.

Could you please let me know what is wrong with Nurse, given the outcome of this recent match? Even if I told you the last guy died messing around end game?

@Yords said:
Because she is a killer that ignores everything survivors have to stall a killer. It is not fun to play against her since she can kill you incredibly fast, and with addons she becomes even stronger. Most nurse players use those addons to make chases last less than 20 secs.
She also holds the game back some too. Some perks cannot be too strong because if they were, then it would indirectly buff nurse. For example look at lethal pursuer. Why can't the perk last up to 20 seconds, or 30? Because of nurse. It would be too strong on her, and maybe artist as well.
There is no adapting to a good nurse player. Yeah breaking LOS can sometimes stall her a bit, but ultimately it's for nothing.
Against a good nurse survivors ARE upset that they literally can't do anything, who wouldn't be? Against a killer like her there is no fun, you just die. And I don't think that there NEEDS to be a killer who exists just because it can stand up to death squads you get every 100 killer games.
Did you not read the first several comments refuting these ideas before posting?

I'm not that invested in this nurse debate but I have to ask, how do you use pallets and windows 'effectively' against a Nurse? Doesn't her whole power being able to blink through pallets and vaults make them pointless for survivors to use?
Nurse can be stunned just the same as any other killer. A well-timed pallet drop can even stun a Nurse mid-blink. Especially if it was a second or third blink, you now have plenty of time to make good distance while her blinks recharge. You can also fake a pallet camp, or do a pallet camp at a tile she doesn’t know you are at. You can also double fast vault a pallet, and if she’s on the wrong side of the pallet you’ve won a lot of extra chase time.
Slow vaulting for stealth or mind games, faking vaults, and being unpredictable and maybe even vaulting when you previously hadn’t.
Edit: in a coordinated SWF, you could also intentionally go down under pallets to force her to slug you, buying lots of time for other teammates to do gens.

That's not true there is a reason why she is the top used killer in every single tournament in dbd and they only let people use her once. Even against a god tier swf that has TENS of thousands of hours playing get mopped up by her in tournaments. If you watch tournament dbd you would understand why she needs to be worked on.
Are you going against tournament Nurses with tournament rule sets? If not, can you please use realistic examples and data for this discussion?
Tournaments are what ignore game mechanics. They only allow this or that, blah blah. Most of us here are playing Dead by Daylight as allowed by the developers of the game.

Why because a lot of people main the nurse especially streamers you know the people who advertise the game. Now imagine they change their favorite killer and they just flat out quit the game. That is why.
I happily welcome you to show data that proves either of your points. Starstruck, Floods of Rage, Darkness Revealed.. all recently released perks with very high potential on Nurse. So where is the alleged bottleneck?

Theres nothing scary about her but there are plenty of posts where you can read why the game is balanced around nurse and is bottle necking the devs making the game balanced.
This is patently false. If it were true, why would the devs not changed the way she functions long ago; and meanwhile, continuing to release perks that are arguably strongest on her?
@NomiNomad said:
Because a Killer that negates a good portion of Survivor mechanics probably isn't good for the game? Because her difficulty is very overblown? It isn't that hard to be a """""good"""""" Nurse.
She's unhealthy for the game. She was made when the game was hide and seek. In that case, her power makes more sense. In the current looping centric state of the game, she ignores most non-perk defenses a Survivor has.
Yes, SWF is unbalanced. The difference is, a way to play with your friends is integral to the life-span of a multiplayer game.
Nurse doesn’t ignore or negate survivor defenses. Walls, vaults, pallets, and lockers all still exist in matches with Nurse. She simply changes how you use them effectively.

Ah, the same person who I just saw earlier today as a self-proclaimed survivor main. Lol. Good times.

Wasn’t the issue with Freddy more that the slowdown could be applied to maximum efficiency with absolutely no effort required from the killer. Don’t like the Thanataphobia buff but at least the killer has to do something to get it.
Legion has to be barely careful to not whiff in Frenzy is about all, Plague can simply rely on passive infection to do the job of Thana for her. And cleansing against her puts survivors in a lose-lose situation most of the time. In other words, Thana is only a problem on killers who quickly or freely eat the healthy state of survivors - of which we have two. Legion and Plague are the problems.

@dugman said:
A lot of people seem to think that Dissolution only gets value when it literally breaks a pallet which isn’t the case. Dissolution puts survivors in a spot where if they vault a pallet they get hit, so they end up wanting to not vault pallets and taking riskier paths and getting hit because of that anyway. It’s the aspect of being hit regardless of what the survivor does that is the value of Dissolution, if a pallet happens to break in the process that’s just a bonus.
Here’s the problem: what is Dissolution’s activation condition? Injuring a survivor. What does injuring a survivor do? Give them a mini sprint burst, and put the killer in a cool down animation.
The smart play is to always leave a tile with your injury speed boost (with or without Dissolution). You go for a new tile with chances for windows, undropped pallets, etc. By the time the killer catches up, Dissolution is already deactivated too. So at the very least, you would need to switch targets after activating Dissolution. Though all survivors in your terror radius are forewarned of the perk’s existence. All around it is a terrible perk.

Is this still a thing? I had a match yesterday where an injured survivor who entered a locker was extremely loud compared to what is normal. It was as if he wasn't even in the locker. And I was not running Stridor.
-
Maybe it could be integrated into Boil Over (as right now killers can utilize BO to actually hook you faster). But if it were just a part of base wiggling, it would have to be barely noticeable. As @tippy2k2 said above, the standard random jostling can already mess up a carrying killer. And if you have bodyblockers too.. oh boy.
-
I agree it wasn’t a bad map, but don’t see why you think it needed to be bigger? It had the most unique aesthetics and tiles we’ve ever gotten (I can still chuckle thinking about those tubes!). And it was certainly more bearable than any other indoor map released.

Plunderers instinct is a general perk, you're thinking of up the ante
Plunderer’s does increase your chances of a rarer item, though - even though it’s not related to the luck system. Up The Ante does not. Sounds to me like he is asking for PI to be deleted/reworked, and its chances of a better chest item integrated into luck so that luck offerings and perks would have a better place in searching chests.
@Blueberry said:
I’d rather them both just get buffed/reworked to be relevant rather than removed.
How would you suggest buffing/reworking them? If you buff luck percentages too high, people will be rescuing themself off hook a lot easier for much less risk.

I wish I had such luck (the 12 part). But only in a four-man SWF that doesn’t give up - and especially just because it’s Nurse.
