I think he should be immune to that just to make sense. He’s already immune to meaningful blinds anyway so it wouldn’t be bad for balance. Flashlight saves against him is impossible after all. And if you blind him at a pallet you just get whooped by his ranged.

Actually if a survivor isn't tormented flashlight saves are still very possible, and blinding at a pallet can save a lot of time. Particularly with the limited range and width of his Punishment, I'd definitely say to keep it.

Plus, it allows for consistency between killers and doesn't make Lightborne worse than it already is.

Just because a game is getting a graphics overhaul doesn't mean it's going to run worse. Many games have had graphical overhauls that both look and perform better.

World of Warcraft, League of Legends... three times. Hell, I think even Phantasy Star Online 1 fits into this category. Hell, even Minecraft in its... uh, pixelated glory. Ever tried running the earlier versions of Minecraft, like the SUPER early versions? Thing ran like ######### and looked way worse. And if that's not enough, trying playing current Minecraft with and without optifine. It makes a huge difference.

This is DBD and in the past four years, BHVR hasn't given me any reason to hope that a graphical overhaul will actually optimize the game much if at all if I'm being honest, but if they do bring in an actual options menu which is probably one of the easiest things they could do to help make the game not run like crap for a lot of people which they've still haven't done, well... there's a chance, anyway.

They have to keep Switch players in mind as well, don't forget, and I don't think that system can handle the game running much worse than it already is.

Honestly switch isn't as bad you'd think. Just because it sounds like a jet plane and reaches temperatures you can cook a full English breakfast on it, on all maps but Lèrys it's actually a pretty stable 25-30.

Let's just not talk about how it looks.

  • My favourite is the "anti-totem build (with an extra bit of Spice)™"

Detectives Hunch- lets you easily find totems. Like, my god are they easy to find with this perk. Just hope you or your team know how to hold m1 on a gen.

Inner Strength- free, reliable healing and works well with the other perks in this build.

Quick and Quiet- for when slowly entering a locker isn't good enough for you.

Head On- because we need a bit of fun in our lives.

Does BHVR consider it cheating? I’ve never seen them actually say this, and it isn’t listed as a bannable offence anywhere as far as I know. If they do I’ll start recording and reporting.

It's the same as lagswitching AFAIK, and is classed as an exploit.

If the report is false nothing will happen. If the report is true that'll be one less exploiter.

you realize EAC detects RGB devices and causes random disconnects in the game? My keyboard coist over $150 and had to turn the lights off.

just saying, its not always the persons fault when thyey get disconnected,

Last time I did this I had no response. I can't access logs on console I don't know how to. I have opened tickets instead to try and resolve the issue.

    Console yeah that's an issue.

The best thing you can do is submit a report if none have been made recently to ensure the devs are aware of it, and then any other crashes from there comment the next circumstances. Ensure you provide as much detail as possible in every report/update.

  • The devs have confirmed on several streams they're looking into solutions for this. One of which is a server-sided sanity check, which ensures all hits are feesably possible instead of being client-sided.

Edit: Also if they're admitting to it, report them. This is cheating and they can get banned for it. Ensure you file an extra report on the dead by daylight support- submit a ticket under "Additional Player Report Information"

I think I miss this, is it in the live stream they mention graphic update? can someone fill me in xD. Would be awsome to see some graphic upgrade in DBD :o, I really do want to see character update too in this game.

absolutely incorrect, you're speaking for yourself and again it isn't my reality. My internet connection is fine, I play overwatch with no problems, I play GTA online, I play world of warcraft and guess what? They run smoothly. It's the game.

It's interesting how this happens to a small minority of people.

Please go to the bug reports section of the forum (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs) and provide a report on the details of the crash. Provide your logs (if you need help finding them tell me) and then try and reboot the game and see if there's any errors that appear, and include these too.

  • That is intended. Many killers gain the "undetectable" status effect when using perks or powers (such as Ghostface's Night Shroud or the perk Tinkerer). This removes the terror radius, red stain, and blocks all aura reading perks on the survivor's side.

Object can still be useful however; you'll know the killer is on screen whenever the perk lights up (in the bottom right) and paired with spine chill you'll know if the killer is looking at you, allowing a swift getaway.

Can't speak for everyone else but Lery's is the only map for me where my performance noticeably drops, every other map runs smoothly. I fear that the future map upgrades will be similar but I am going through the process of upgrading multiple parts of my PC so maybe it'll be better by then.

As someone who plays 15fps normally (until I get my new pc which will hopefully be able to hit a record of 20) Lèrys don't actually drop for me. It's really weird but my 15fps is at least a stable 15 and the only time I get framerate drops are the first time everyone falls asleep when I'm playing freddy.

It's not wrong to say that models and animations need some updating in this game. It's not visually pleasing when I"m playing Myers and tombstone piece mori a survivor, with the amount of clipping on the model. I hope the graphical updates involve some player models.

From the devs 4'th anniversary stream they confirmed they have an entire team dedicated to updating old assets, animations, and lighting on maps.

  • #BuffClown2020 did something.

I'm so proud of this community.

  • 1) No money has been stolen. People have willingly purchased products and services from BHVR knowing they're subject to change at any time under the EULA.

    2) If you're getting Internet issues that badly that frequently it may be an issue on your end, not BHVRs.

    3) On their anniversary stream (read the big pinned comment by @Fibijean) they have indeed confirmed they will continue working on servers to make the experience as smooth as possible. In their words, they have "a long way to go".

    4) Under the EULA that you signed up for when starting the game you resigned your right to a refund.

Their only excuse for nerfing Ruin was that "Too many killers used it at high ranks" yet when asked about survivors all using Self-Care and Decisive Strike, they didn't care and left them broken. Don't act like the devs aren't survivor mains who balance around their own experience. They're not even GOOD at survivor, that's why killers always get nerfed so hard.

Self-care is the only perk comparable to ruin in useage rates.

Decisive Strike was AFAIK confirmed to be used in roughly 40% of all games and its usage has dropped (for me in games).

If you think self care is op idk what to tell you.

Let's also remember the multiple spirit buffs, ghostfsce buffs, trapper qol, plague qol, PGTW buff, absolute destruction of godloops except cowshed and Dwelling, destruction of problematic maps except yamaoka maps, Dwelling, and coldwind maps, clown not being slowed while throwing bottles, etc, etc.

Stop being blinded by bias. The devs may have once catered to survivors severely but now they're actually doing a decent job at balancing and I'm more than proud of their recent decisions. Soon as they can get a decent bugfixing and QA team it'll be heaven.

  • Use an M1 if they're that close as Oni/Huntress. No need to use the power.

Walking backwards helps too so they walk into your swing instead of you swinging into their Bait (this is a trick used by console gamers).

-a 15fps player who gets 360ed too much for it to be funny anymore.

  • Now please compare Pyramid head from SH2 and DBD.

We’ve observed a growing Community concern about matchmaking in recent months. Matchmaking wait times have exceeded our targeted limits and we’ve seen rank disparities fluctuate. In this Status Update, we will go in details on factors impacting the matchmaking, our current matchmaking system and our future solutions.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/793/ZSC8B6CPRDCP.png

Above are the three variable factors in matchmaking, with a fourth being the number of players on each role, with an ideal ratio of 4 survivors for 1 killer at all times. When dealing with matchmaking, we need to decide how much to focus on each of the factors. If we focus on one point, the other points will see some sort of impact. For example, if we focus on time, your matches will likely end up being less fair, and you might get paired with people further away. Dedicated servers have helped us ensure a stable connection, with over 90% of players being put into matches with 150 ping and under. Our goal is to get you into a match as quickly as possible with a good connection, without compromising too much on fairness.

This is a difficult task in a game like Dead by Daylight, where both sides have different objectives and cannot be directly compared to one another. We’ve attempted to address this in the past with the Emblem system, but upon further review, we’ve concluded that rank does not directly correlate to skill. While a player who plays a lot will tend to be better than someone who plays very little, there are also players who are good at the game but don’t play enough to reach the upper ranks.

To help improve with the fairness factor without sacrificing wait times or pings, we will be making two changes. The first is a new system to better reflect a player’s skill level, and the second is a change to the matchmaking system to create fairer matches.

Going forward, we will use a hidden skill rating for matchmaking purposes. Your skill rating will increase when you do well and decrease when you do poorly. To keep this as fair as possible, the system will predict the outcome of the match based on the difference in your opponent(s) rating and adjust the amount your rating changes:

    • If your rating is higher than your opponent(s), your rating will increase less if you win and drop more if you lose.
    • If your rating is lower than your opponent(s), your rating will increase more if you win and drop less if you lose.

This way, even if you aren’t perfectly matched with people of the exact same skill level, your rating will not change unfairly.

In the future, we would like to extend this system to support different ratings for each killer, allowing you to practice a new killer without being immediately matched against high skilled players. This may not be included in the initial launch of the feature.

Additionally, to make sure that your matches are as fair as possible, we will be switching over to “batch matchmaking”.

Currently, our matchmaking system takes the player in queue and looks for a match close to their rank. If it is unable to find an appropriate match, it will gradually expand the search range until it is able to give you a match. This can lead to both unfair matches and long queue times.

The new batch matchmaking will instead pool a larger number of players together, compare their skill levels, and then create the fairest matches possible simultaneously. With a larger pool to pick from, we hope to improve the fairness factor of matchmaking while also keeping pings and wait times low.

The release of these changes will be gradual. With the release of the mid-chapter update, we are able to start tracking skill levels. For the time being, this is only a test and is not being used for matchmaking purposes. Once we are confident that the skill rating is working as intended, we will be running tests on live servers.

When this happens, you may notice some disparity in ranks during your matches. This is to be expected as rank will no longer be used for matchmaking purposes at this time. To avoid confusion, we are considering removing ranks from the post-match scoreboard once testing is complete, as they will no longer be relevant to matchmaking. Ranks will remain visible only to you for bragging rights and a goal to work towards, but will be a reflection of your dedication to the game rather than skill for the time being.

We are confident that these changes will allow us to create fairer matches without losing sight of our goals; to get you into a match as soon as possible with a solid connection. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on our progress as we move forward.

In the most recent anniversary stream devs confirmed it should be ready for rollout in June.

  • The devs said they would work on balancing the maps and then based upon these results would see if breakable walls would be necessary to implement.

Plus, they would need to create assets for the different walls on each realm, which considering how they have an entire team dedicated to polishing lighting and current assets and animations, could take some time.

Honestly, do these two look like the same person? I don't mean to be negative, I love the DLC and I think it's overall a good one, but I think they could've made a better job. She is like the female version of Quentin to me.

    So right now I'm thinking;

Kindred: allows me good Intel for unhooking

Borrowed time: if the running away goes badly

Self care: recovery from the chase

We'll make it: allows speedy recovery for my team mate

    Critique?

Self care. The perk takes too long imo and you'd be better off with other perks.

Here's where Inner Strength (Nancy, level 40) comes in. Cleanse a totem for the perk to activate. Hide in a locker for 10/9/8 seconds to fully heal yourself.

That takes slightly less time and helps you counter the commonly used perk Hex: No One Escapes Death.

    Aside from that, looks good.

I think Laurie can be forgiven since that was the... 2nd ever dlc? I'm pretty sure? Plus, we can look at Bill for what they can do now vs back then.

    Quentin though? Inexcusable.

    2)

In the most recent dev stream (anniversary), they confirmed that this matchmaking is almost ready and should be ready for release next month.

  • My criticism for Now or Never is that it scales with two factors- all other perks only scale with one thing (Infection Fright for example is 4/5/6, NOED is a 2/3/4 movement speed boost, DS is a 40/50/60 with a flat 5 second stun, etc). I'd say have the 40/50/60 scale and go for a flat 1 second increased.

  • What im hoping is that through upgrading assets and rendering and lighting it will:

-Help optimisation through better quality assets which don't need like 600 parts to be rendered (this is a very big hope but also very slim, don't really expect it to happen)

-Allow us to have a bigger selection of options in the menu

  • As a PC player I'm excited for Cross-play because it means I can play with my friends on PS4.

As a switch player too, I'm excited because it means I can play with people on PC while my sisters using my computer for schoolwork.

It's a win win for me.

But what with the reboot being made by the guy who did Get Out and Us, it's almost certain to get good exposure.

We could even get the new version as a chapter.

Oh I don't doubt, when the new version comes out it should be proper popular again. Right now though he's not all too hyped around where I live/who I know, which is kinda a shame.

We only know the kid-friendly version of Bloody Mary lmao

  • Usually there are leaks and then the trailers and previews appear on YouTube as far as I remember. Obviously with Ash and Ghostie there were those leaks, Stranger Things was a lot less obvious, and this time there was... Practically nothing. So many red herrings, it was actually amazing.

I think this only happens for anniversary streams unfortunately. So here's to one more year of you with us (at least) so you can experience it all again. (also yeah chat is toxic as ######### lol).

  • See the thing I can kinda get behind on Z block is that they bleed whilst healthy, which is kinda cool.

The fact, though, that Cat Block and Z Block, and Sheep Block and U Block, have practically identical effects, pisses me off to no end. Old freddy had some incredibly creative add-ons and now we have... What? Pill bottle?

I mainly listen to music when I play survivor, it is usually swans, death grips, daughters, MCR, king crimson and godspeed you! Black emperor. If you ever need music to listen to that fits the mood of dbd I suggest F#A# infinity by Godspeed you! Black emperor. EDIT: Rain on me is a banger not gonna lie.

Rain on me is indeed an absolute banger; glad we agree.

  • As much as I agree (and believe me, I do), I feel like there might be a slight difference. F/J/S/J are all part of Legion, so while they may be different people, they're all one Legion. So far from what we've seen, legendary skins change everything, so it would turn Legion into someone entirely new that isn't part of Legion. Same mechanics, different everything else.

Probably gonna be mainly survivor skins too tbh.

  • Honestly I have like 4 songs on loop:

-Rain On me (Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande)

-Killer In The Mirror (Set it Off)

-One Single Second (Set it Off)

-Catch Me If You can (Set it Off)

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

I still feel a little tricked by all the marketing and hype behind Legion. I feel like their power design and initial reaction has irreperably tarnished them. People hate them when they're weak or strong and a lot of people say its the single worst chapter ever released.

I mean, forgettable survivor, forgettable perks (except maybe distortion), one of the worst maps in the game, then a killer who went from bullshit and boring to just boring? Yeah I'd feel pretty good about calling that single worst chapter ever. (Ash doesn't count since he's from a Paragraph).

"Say they go for this combo, then the broken one dead hards away. They've used their exhaustion perk and are probably in a bad position if the first guy was downed there. Chase them". I guess if the position IS bad for them, this solution is the best one.

"Alternatively, use perks like sloppy and thana- they must be healed to use FTP and if you're slowing their healing as much as possible (without that clown perk because it's awful) then they aren't doing gens for a long time to pull off a combo that should, at most, waste about 10 seconds of time (think- if they werent there waiting, that would be 3 gens popping not 2)". Yeah, I like it as well. It's not like counter-counter but still makes it more time worth to pull off.

If you're that worried about the combo, anti-heal killers/perks are your best bet simply because they have to be fully healed.

@Fiv55 said it better then i ever could.

You say the prices are different but... They're not. I just checked and- to the best of my ability- they're consistent across PS4, xBox, and Steam. The 2500 pack is the same pricess on PS4 and xBox, and the 500 pack on steam is consistent so I assume the rest are too.

reason i yes no to Auric cell is because liek or not Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo and steam get money from that too so it wouldn't work.other thing may work like iridescent shards and bloodpoints.

Explain then why in other games premium currency and purchases are retained

  • Cross-save/progression is something that the devs are looking into, however they need to continue discussions with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.

Also the idea of cosmetics and rift passes not transferring over is, in my opinion, idiotic. You paid money for this, you should damn well get to keep it. Like in PvZ2, any plants you buy with money you keep, any bought with in-game gems you don't.

Idk man i wouldnt put it passed them at this point. Look how they handled previous nerfs like the nurse. They went completly overboard, then the spirit got changed unjustly simply because the community doesnt want a strong killer in the game. Remember Freddy? i do and us waiting 3 weeks after the ptb doesnt change my mind. They did the same thing with demogorgons lunge attack. I wasnt even able to play the ptb version and experience it bc im on console and it got nerfed upon release. Maybe im just sick of the bs that they pull. I just feel like they dont always do whats best for their game and cater to the casual survivor mains of this community.

You know demo's lunge got buffed as well right? He got a bit of added cooldown to make his lunge less spammable but in return he could break pallets?

Freddy got add-ons nerfed but also got immunity to BT?

Nurse I agree with, they went overboard.

Spirit needs a full rework, not a nerf- her kit as of current isn't fun to play against and playing as her is boring (both of these are in my opinion).

Let's also just ignore spirit's several buffs upon release, Ghostface getting buffed upon release, Freddy's entire rework, and that deathslinger didn't get nerfed upon release (although Gearhead did).

So yeah, devs only nerf killers. No killer is safe from a nerf.

Weird because even on the ptb im getting some framerate lag. Maybe it's my resolution scaling i think by default its like 300 maybe dbd doesnt like that?

Sorry I just re-checked the notes.

The exact wording is "Better accommodate" not "added support". I assume this means there will still be some issues but it should be a whole lot smoother than beforehand.

For the optimal experience I'd suggest going for the 1080 res instead- though I hope 4k is available for when they update the graphics it doesn't seem to be now.
