I played a handful of matches last night, and I see what they're talking about. The bots aren't really teabagging, the AI is just deciding between whether to crouch and hide or run away (at least to me). Another bot tried to blind me with a flashlight while carrying another survivor, but other than that I haven't experienced any clicking. I have to assume it's the AI deciding whether to use the flashlight or not.
I will say it was pretty impressive how effective they were, especially at doing generators! I played with sadako for the first time last night, and they were slamming out generators pretty efficiently. I'm definitely glad I didn't play her against a live team because they would have walked all over me, and thus persuaded me not to play another match.

But it's funny, honestly, and knowing there's no malicious and toxic intent makes it so much better than it has any right to be. I really hope they don't fix it, because it allows for so much accidental joy and then the satisfying feeling of effortless curbstomping them on top of it all actually makes me want to play more games.

All I'm saying is that multiple people in the development team have said they have no control over which characters get skins nor what themed skins they get, that's all mostly decided by higher ups. The Assosicate Art Director revealed that they didn't even have any control over making Vittorio shirtless - that was just something they had to do for his release - and as much as she's a massive fan of Haddie the people that need convincing are the higher ups.

Per platform. On xbox I can't chat with PC or PS4 players. In fact we don't even have an endgame chat. Idk about playstation though. Tbh it wouldn't be great. Typing using a controller isn't great.
PlayStation also doesn't have an endgame chat. The only ways to talk are private messaging.

Nice. Thank you. That is really great timing.
Also just for reference, this usually happens around every chapter release, as well as a potential Black Friday sale happening in-game as well as through the storefronts (there's also usually a Christmas sale, a New Year's sale, a Chinese New Year's sale, and more). The DLC go on sale a LOT.

you right, better play aganist nurses, bubbas and blights...
Unironically I've had substantially more fun facing an Eruption 2x Recharge Nurse than being fscecamoed by a Knight twice over using his power and being guaranteed to die because this is solo queue and nobody knows how to deal with that. At least when I'm facing a Nurse I know it'll be over quickly, the Knight has to catch me first and that'll take him 4 gens.

Most multiplayer games these days have bots as a way to entice the single player crowd so that way they'll still have a way to play the game.
This was a long overdue feature. Now we have a way to not only practice, but we can enjoy some chill matches at our leisure. But by far the biggest advantage about this would be that no one's going to disconnect, no one's going to be teabagging and flashlight clicking, and best of all; no toxic end-game chat.
The bots have clicked and tbagged me so far lmao

Yawn. Frustrating boring design for both sides where you just hold a single key and get outplayed by being camped by his power while he's not even near you anymore, while you have no choice for creative power useage because it's just so ######### so you have to play in the most unfun way possible.

You can hardly call what happened to CoH a nerf. It now takes a whole *2 SECONDS* longer to self-heal without a medkit than at go-live and even less difference to other healing methods.
CoH is still completely killing the Hit & Run playstyle - make it less insanely OP and you'll see less tunnelling. NOTE: I know that nothing will stop tunnelling (mainly because it's a perfectly valid strategy) but making hit & run more viable will help.
"CoH is still completely killing the Hit & Run playstyle - make it less insanely OP and you'll see less tunnelling."
I completely disagree. Making other strategies more viable won't change the fact that tunneling is still, and likely will be for the foreseeable future, the most efficient tactic possible and therefore tunneling will be as common as ever, if not easier because of a tool being taken away from Survivors.

The counterplay that SoloQ can use is finding a team w comms. Unless you are unable to speak or hear, there is no reason you can't find a SWF to play with. There are countless ways to find people to play with that are easily accesible.
The counterplay that solos have is to just... Not play solo queue.
Flawless advice there.

By playing against bots in custom games, coming incredibly soon.
And with Pyramid Head, by reading this helpful guide
@GoodBoyKaru said:
So a few attentive people may recognise this from a comment I made yesterday (technically it was 24 minutes into today but let's not talk semantics). A couple of people suggested I make it a real post because "That's an excellent guide, very well put together." So, here I am. I've added a few more things so it's still worth a read.
This will cover what is, in my opinion, his best build and why, as well as a few tips on playing him & a few videos.
So hey, it's me- GoodBoyKaru, your friendly neighbourhood Pyramid Head main- here to give some swift Tips and Tricks(tm) to help make you a better Pyramid Head player!
For the record, this was made during DBD Patch 4.7.2
Build
PERKS
My personal favourite and imho strongest build is this:
- Corrupt Intervention
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5A01IV8RME2M/image.png
Crucial early-game slowdown on a killer without mobility, allows him to stall the game massively because survivors know that if they get found they're doomed.
- Pop Goes The Weasel
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FHA7ZFNAKVZY/image.png
It's the second best gen regression perk in the game, Ruin is too volatile to be anywhere near reliable on him because, again, no movement speed, he needs gen perks because he cannot move around the map quick enough, 11/10. "But you don't hook pe-" WRONG. You should be getting plenty of value out of PGTW and if you're overcaging then you're taking your map pressure and throwing it out the window.
- Barbeque and Chili
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SC8THLXSY3RP/image.png
Now, you could obviously put other perks here like Infectious Fright (amazing snowball), Tinkerer (Undetectable is nice and it helps tell you where to go but again no movement speed) or Discordance (amazing info, can sometimes do nothing about it). However I say BBQ because I like the perk and also because bloodpoints.
- I'm All Ears
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V90CSL0I44NO/image.png
Hands down the best perk in the game for Pyramid Head, that's six seconds of wallhacks. I cannot stress how valuable this is with his power- that is a guaranteed free hit in 9/10 situations. To show what I mean, I've linked a timestamped video below of where IAE comes in so clutch- continues to 5:16 in the video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJs4rvkppqs&t=296s
(you can watch the whole thing if you really want I'm proud of the game).
An honourable mention here goes to Ruin/Undying over Pop/Corrupt. As I've mentioned before, Tinkerer isn't a great perk on him due to his lack of speed, but the same goes for Ruin/Undying. You don't have the map mobility to defend your totems, especially if they spawn further away, and you'll probably end up losing two perks before 2 gens go. Corrupt/Pop is just more consistent in my experience.
ADD-ONS
So, his add-ons aren't great. The best ones, by far, are range add-ons which, when combined, extend his POTD by up to 2.5m (10.5m total). These are Burning Man Painting (Rare), Wax Doll (Uncommon), and Black Strap (Common), which ass +1.5m, +1m, and +0.5m respectively.
tips
Okay so rule number one is to not break pallets. Sounds weird but, just trust me.
His power is incredibly strong in a chase- so much so that if a survivor commits to an animation they die. If you don't break pallets (with some exceptions like God pallets) you can do amazing things. Because who doesn't want more opportunities to win a chase, like, instantly? It turns incredibly safe pallets into death sentences
To show what I mean, here's another timestamped clip. Ends at 10:58
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu3X5o9GpjY&t=646s
Learn the range of the power. 8m is specific and sometimes you think you can hit things and you can't. You need to be very careful, especially when playing with range add-ons for so long, because it can and will screw with your perception.
Adapt to the survivors you're facing. A lot of players will fake taking an animation, go to the side slightly to bait your POTD or your cancel, and then commit to the animation. If you turn to the side and release, you'll catch a lot of these survivors out and get a hit. It's really satisfying to do. Alternatively some survivors will commit to the animations regardless, in which case you'll know to aim in the centre. Other survivors will just hold W and pre-drop pallets, in which case you know to leave them because you'll really struggle catching up, or do not use your power.
I cannot stress that enough. If a survivor is pre-dropping W key gaming, do not use your power. M1 killer them.
Don't overcage and don't stress about torment. If a survivor loops you, they'll get tormented. That's just kinda how it works- you stick your knife in, follow them around a loop, and release your POTD after tracking their movements.
To see what I mean we return to the first video, again timestamped. Clip ends at 1:36.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJs4rvkppqs&t=83s
See how I hug the car, turn the camera and use the power to hit him out of animation lock? Had he kept running, easy torment too.
In my opinion, only cage someone in one of four scenarios:
- You're afraid of a DS (just please don't tunnel I'm begging you)
- You're afraid of an Unbreakable (much more likely)
- You can immidiately get into another chase
- It would place you into a Pressure Point Of No Return (name pending).
What I mean by that last point is that there comes a time in a DBD game where the killer will hit a Pressure Point Of No Return, where the survivors physically cannot come back from the amount of pressure and momentum you're building. The best example of this as Pyramid Head is where you split the map through cages. You have two downed survivors. Cage one, hook the other. Nobody is on a generator, you have a BBQ proc to interrupt the person saving the cage or the hook, and now the last person must save both people. On especially large maps, like Mother's Dwelling, or multi-storied ones, like Midwich, this can force people into second stage and you've won the game at 5 gens. It's more common than you'd think.
If you cage at other times you're probably wasting pressure you could've gotten from a hook.
Learn where you can and can't lay trails. In front of totems and lockers? Amazing. In front of a gen? Not at all, it becomes a Restricted Trail Element and disappears after a few seconds. The DBD Wiki has a section on this which I'll just paste below.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2808XTGCLSHV/image.png
I'd highly, highly suggest reading the wiki page on his power as it's really useful in understanding the fundamentals and giving actual values to words. Here it is:
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Pyramid_Head
Finally, learn where you can and can't use POTD. It sounds like a simple thing but learning where you can and can't use it, however there's a lot to it. For example, learning how vertical changes affect it. Did you know if you release his power on a slope going up it'll fail, same with releasing it on a slope going down. However, if you're barely off of the slope it'll travel down it, but only if it isn't too steep.
It's nuts but knowing where you can and can't actually have an ability is, funnily enough, pretty important.
A few more quick-fire tips:
- Don't just go for animation lock shots. People expect these and adapt. Be unpredictable to catch them off guard and get easy hits. Like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U1k10I-zG4&feature=emb_logo
Bet they didn't expect that one :p
Needless to say that was where I hit a Pressure Point Of No Return and poor Jakey couldn't pick up the scraps.
- Don't spam his power. You waste too much time. Be precise, predict, and adapt to your opponents.
- Don't spam his trails. You move at 110% and you already lack a movement ability, you waste too much time.
- Tunneling isn't the best strategy. I know it seems like it because cages but again, you do not have a movement ability. Survivors can and will facefuck generators and ruin your day substantially.
- Dead Dawg Saloon and Hawkins are both maps you never press M2 on ever. Play like a default M1 killer because the map design prevents you from using your power. They're pretty much auto-loss maps, ngl, unless the survivors really badly mess up.
- Play survivor. Learn where survivors move and how they path, shoot POTD to hit them. That's what I did in that last clip.
And, yeah, that's about it. If people have any questions please let me know and I'll try to answer them as best I can, though I think this is comprehensive enough.

yea look any talk about any perk, just exclude nurse and blight and maybe wesker
those we don't talk about, those are the top killers that can make even whispers work somehow
with those 2 killers ANY perk is a problem mainly because they are so strong
yea look any talk about any perk, just exclude nurse and blight and maybe wesker
Okay then, the killer is Freddy who overextended from his 3 gen knowing he could teleport back after getting this down.
The killer is Sadako, who can jump right back to her 3 gen if she commits and gets this hook.
It's a Mint Rag Hag (or a Regular Hag when facing solos), knowing full well she can easily return to her Web if just one person is careless.
It's a Billy, Wraith, Oni, Spirit, Demo, or Dredge, all of whom have ways to very quickly traverse the map to an area not covered by Bond and very quickly return.
It's not exclusively a Nurse/Blight issue, I simply chose them because it just makes them more powerful than they already are.

@AcelynnBen said:

doesn't bond show the aura of survivors from like 36 meters
there is also situational awareness, which yes can be a bit late but can also be situational if u are tapping the gens
and there is also the obvious hint that the survivors is about to go down, the more the game goes
The killer is a Nurse or Blight. They can easily traverse from 1 area of the map to another.
The map is Coal Tower, which has an area of 8,448m^2. Bond has a radius of 36m, so shows all Survivors within an area of 4081.5m^2 (pi * 36^2) at any one time, assuming that none of this range goes off of the map. That's over half of one of the smallest maps in DBD left unaccounted for. For perspective, Red Forest is 12,032m^2- almost 3 times the size of Bond, and that again requires you to be in the centre of the map and nowhere near the edge.
And even when you can see the Survivor, where is your 1 second warning of "They are about to go down"? You can see they're being chased, and sure you can take a lucky guess, but if not you are wasting precious time. Time which solo queue do not have.
There is no prior warning. Without aura reading on the Survivors and the Killers, there is no consistent reliable tell of when a Survivor is about to go down.

Gears of War is infamous for connectivity discrepancies and punishing players with low ping while simultaneously bailing out those with very high ping. If I have 60 ping but you have 200-1000 (Not uncommon to see, Gears is very popular in South America and matches people from all regions with no parameters to prevent them from queing while lagging) then I can literally shoot you point blank and it won't register however you can shoot at the air where I was previously standing and get falsely rewarded with the kill
Okay but I've never played Gears of War and therefore DBD is the only game I've ever played where having poor connection is an advantage

I can keep going on and on. The killer is just more stressful and requires much more mental fortitude to win games. Survivor is extremely chill and forgiving most of the time.

So why are you closing DBD now instantly after a bad game?
SoloQ wasn't nerfed in any way during 2022. In fact, SoloQ is even buffed I'd say due to base kit BT. There were many more noobs back then in the past with urban evasion and self-care. I refuse to believe this argument of "nea urban evading" or "meg self-caring in a corner" is what happens in most SoloQ games. It would make sense back then because meta wasn't that fleshed out, but now most survivors run meta builds.
Because the game feels significantly more stale to play as survivor than it somehow did in 2020, during which there was a period of like 3 or 4 months where I didn't play any survivor at all because it was so boring.
And there's no way I can just hop skip and switch over to killer now, because I could genuinely get a manicure and dye my hair before I find a single game of Pyramid Head and both of those things would make me far happier than playing DBD
-

The nurse was even stronger in the past and there was even more busted stuff for the killer. And yet survivors wouldn't give up that easily back then.
It's obviously a chain reaction that is caused by some kind of community circlejerk IMO. Or perhaps a large part of the DBD player base is burnt out as there are lots of long-term players by now. The game is very stale due to the base game not changing much.
"The nurse was even stronger in the past and there was even more busted stuff for the killer. And yet survivors wouldn't give up that easily back then."
How many players from 2016/2017 still play frequently? It's much more likely newer players who aren't used to the jank and the bullshit combined further with experienced players who just can't be bothered to put up with it anymore.
I know back in 2017 and 2018 I could go an entire play session of terrible games and leave in a good mood. Now a single terrible game has me closing dbd for the night and playing Coral Island or PVZ2 instead
-
@Terion said:
sure BHVR can just singlehandedly fix lack of good internet around the globe.
No but they can:
-Implement server reigon lock (disabled with SWF, current system used)
-Implement ping caps which, if exceeded, cancel the match and act as a disconnect
-Allow players to see the connection in ms of all other players to the server before the game begins.
-
"So what is up with survivors lately? Why are they so easy to give up and easily ruin the game for their teammates?"
When you've had one too many awful solo games (read: any solo games) it's incredibly easy to see a pattern forming. A Nurse who's already proven herself to have range addons and the PR/DMS fun combo vs solos just isn't winnable, so you'll have more fun going next. Same with the proven Alch Crow Blight who's definitely got OverBrine if how he's been playing is any indication.
Now people that suicide 1st hook vs Sadako I have no idea about, but I'm also well aware that it could have nothing to do with the killer at all. If Meg decides to blow up the gen, urban evade away, and then hide in a Bush for 3 minutes while I get chased on the opposite side of the map, I know that I'm going to be absolutely malding and, again, it just isn't winnable with an anteammate like that. Same if someone sandbags me, especially if they do so early into the match.
-
I massively prefer playing killer but queue times means I'm playing a lot of survivor and not much killer.
Which is unfortunate, because survivor gameplay is as stale as a 3 month old rich tea.

Err, no. I've my monitor nicely calibrated for everything I use my PC for (work, casual, gaming, social, etc).
DBD is literally the only app that requires color/clarity correction. I'm not messing with my monitor every time I want to play, and then have to switch it back.
I've no idea how the devs calibrated their displays but the comments saying that they're way too dark, there's too little contrast, etc, are far too wide and numerous to suggest this problem is with the community and not how DBD manage the colour palette.
I'm not saying that it isn't a problem because of this one singular work around. However that is one potential work around which has the same effect as using NVIDIA Freestyle and is accessible to everyone not just to people with NVIDIA. If you don't want to, that's fine, and I will obviously keep advocating things need to change.
But people don't know about that whatsoever, so I'll let them know and they can make their own decisions.
