Ah no, I don't mind, as I am no native speaker ^^ I wrote that down in hurry, but getting it thrown back at me like this is probably the only way how I will get it into my dense head ^_-
And I have probably used "pet peeve" in written form less then a handful.

Sure, but there's 0% chance they ever look at CoH again while next patch Eruption is definitely getting gutted to nothing. Such is the way with survivor sided devs. Strong killer perks don't last while busted survivor ######### goes untouched for years
I mean, Hex: Ruin has been in the game since December 2016 (patch 1.3.0), it took until 3.5.0 to be reworked (January 2020, so about 3 years), during which time it was a staple in practically every build. Following that, it took until July 2022 (a further 2 and a half years) for Ruin to finally be killed.
Similarly, PGTW was introduced in June 2018 as part of the 2nd anniversary, and took until July 2022 to finally be killed for good (that's 4 years).
The devs are only clearly, objectively survivor sided when you pick and choose evidence to fit a narrative, as, especially recently, they've been a lot better at ensuring both sides suffer equally.

Old MoM lasted a couple weeks.
CoH is almost okay now.
Why do people have such trouble with the concept of BAD THINGS ARE BAD NO MATTER WHOSE SIDE THEY ARE BAD FOR
The appeal to worse fallacy. Because something is not as bad as an equivalent thing, in the perspective of those putting the argument forward it nullifies the initial argument for there is a worse problem elsewhere.

I remember (from this year!) how survivors could have wallhacks by using Object of Obsession and Blood Pact equipped. Didn't get fixed for weeks! But let's go babes! I bet I could go on for longer than you ;)
Didn't get fixed for weeks but got killswitched after a couple days. In fact they were made aware of it on a weekend, when nobody's in the office, and it was killswitched when they got into office Monday morning Canadian time.
But wait, what's that? We could both go on and on about a list of bugs that weren't fixed? Does that mean- no, it couldn't- that they're actually not biased at all?! Because both sides have had a massive level of bullshit to deal with that didn't get fixed or addressed whatsoever for ages?
And therefore I was right that there's no hidden agenda whatsoever and the devs don't specifically fix survivor problems and leave killer ones in there?
Shocker.

I remember when Oni would get double the blood orbs than he should and that didn't get fixed for half a year if not longer but keep going babes x

But at least the killer won't get robbed as much anymore of their deserved 4k just because of random rng with hatch... only door rng stays... well better than nothing I guess...
"of their deserved 4k" you don't deserve anything. you failed to catch the final survivor in time.
-
If hatch is removed, ceteris paribus, the only thing that'll happen is that stealth when 2 survivors, and when 1 survivor, remains will increase tenfold, dragging out the game needlessly and just plummeting the enjoyment of any endgame scenarios.

Except that's not "literally it."
Several factors have changed making securing a hook in the basement much more difficult. Wiggle skill checks make it possible for survivors to shave a second off the wiggle out timer. Boil Over got buffed. Breakout was introduced. 6.4.0 moved the hooks a metre or more farther from the stairs. Hooking in basements in the Thompson House or the Badham Preschool were difficult before are made even worse now.
The stairs are also much wider making it much easier for survivors to slip past the killer while escaping. In 2019 the killer could stand on the stairs and go AFK and no survivor could slip past him to save a person hooked in the basement.
Since 6.1.0 survivors always have BT coming off the hook so they always have a chance to escape.
The basement is now a pale shadow of its former glory. It's more than just a fresh coat of paint.
"The stairs are also much wider making it much easier for survivors to slip past the killer while escaping. In 2019 the killer could stand on the stairs and go AFK and no survivor could slip past him to save a person hooked in the basement."
That's not a good thing. Removing easy to cause hostage situations which prevents anyone from actively playing the game because you just stopped pressing things on your keyboard isn't a good thing.

But you're never framing it from the killer's perspective in terms of them being strong or at least being able to do something. It's always, "It's boring for survivor because all you can do is hold W." and "It's boring for killer, because you just do this and get them." Where is the passion for playing killer? Because I do not see it.
Any time a killer is cited as being "boring" or "weak" in the way that y'all use those words, the devs respond by changing them to be even weaker and more counterable. So why do y'all keep doing it? Hillbilly, Freddy, Spirit, and Deathslinger were also "boring" and "uncounterable." I honestly think all killers are considered that way. So what are we gonna do? Never create strong killers?
"It's boring for killer, because you just do this and get them."
No, it's boring for killer because there's nothing you can do creatively using your power and instead you just have to hold a single button until you catch up.
There's no passion for playing that killer because there's nothing to do. It's literally just W key simulator because the second you use your power that's what it becomes, because that's the most effective counterplay possible.
Sadako, meanwhile, horrifically weak as a killer, I think we can all agree to that. But her power is just... useable. It's not good, and it's not strong, and it doesn't change the game in any meaningful way, but you can still teleport around the map and use your stealth and that's fun because I can utilise the unique kit the killer has been given.
Pyramid Head, pretty damn strong, his power works wonders, the skill expression you can get is just mwah, and there's very few tiles in the game you can't get use out of his power, be it zoning or actual hits.
Knight lacks anything that makes a killer fun or engaging to play to me, which is a unique power you can use and feel like you're getting value out of. Why play Knight when I could play Artist and get the same gameplay experience but better.
Also, I'm fairly certain most if not all of my comments about Knight have included that he's boring to play as well. Maybe you're just hyperfixating on the bit where I say he's boring to face, but I've absolutely said he's horrible to play too.
So why do y'all keep doing it? Hillbilly, Freddy, Spirit, and Deathslinger were also "boring" and "uncounterable."
Billy wasn't called boring or uncounterable- it was almost unanimously agreed that the only thing that needed changing was a select few add-ons, not butchering everything about him from his FOV to animations to power. Spirit is still very good in the right hands, she just had her skill floor raised. Freddy needed the Spirit treatment- raising his skill floor while keeping what was engaging and enjoyable about his power in tact- but instead he just got butchered. Slinger was overnerfed, there's no other real way to say that.
Any time a killer is cited as being "boring" or "weak" in the way that y'all use those words, the devs respond by changing them to be even weaker and more counterable.
I mean, people have been calling Nurse uncounterable for ages and asides from a change in January 2020 (which, remember, was going to kill the Nurse, but didn't and she returned to the best killer in DBD when they finally fixed her bugs), and Blight with certain add-ons and perks has been getting the same response recently and yet they're still alive and kicking and the top 2 Killers in all of DBD. Pretty sure Twins is next up to be changed, too, so we know that they're not on the chopping block yet either.
It's absolutely not every time (and sometimes, they just do it anyway, like Billy).
So what are we gonna do? Never create strong killers?
You can create strong killers who still are fun to play and fun to face. Basekit Blight and Oni are the 2 that spring to mind instantly, but I'm sure that people disagree and others would add more. Wesker would probably be pretty enjoyable to play and to face too if there was an option to sew his mouth shut, too.
Anyway, this comment has gone massively off topic, but I can promise you that I've been a lot more balanced in the comments about Knight I've been making, you just haven't been seeing it.
-

It sure is, considering most of y'all's definition of fun is the killer having a mediocre power with built-in counterplay so it isn't too "boring."
What if I told you that Knight, a killer with a mediocre power and in-build counterplay in the form of the banner and the W key, is still boring as hell to deal with because the most efficient gameplay is holding W and the banner involves actively handicapping yourself in most situations to get use out of it.
Knight is boring as hell to face because gameplay boils down to W key, get zoned at loop by guard, rinse and repeat and then get camped on hook by him and his power, and he's boring as hell to play because the most efficient way to play him is to zone survivors by dropping a guard at a loop, hold w after them to a different one, rinse and repeat.
-
Well, uh, at least this post is proof that fun is a subjective concept

I will say it's quite funny that we get prompted for the Labour of Love award when chapters releasing in November/December/January are notoriously the worst.
Like, 2020 we had A Binding of Kin. And after that, we were asked for Labour of Love. I think that's enough said.
2021 we had Portrait of a Flop, featuring one of the most universally hated killers (Artist), a very mediocre survivor with bad design and possibly the worst lore to date, and a map that nobody actually likes playing on, they just bring the offering because it's that damn strong.
And now, 2022, we have Forged in Flop. Featuring a killer who doesn't have a functional power half the time (and when it does work it doesn't matter because the only fun way to play him is to purposefully handicap yourself), a Survivor who has managed to divide the community based on BHVR's new marketing strategy of "Make him hot, and make him hotter" while completely ignoring their Survivor they released for the sixth anniversary of the game, and a map that's bugged to spawn every pallet under the sun while being a nightmare to track, well, anything on.
They really do have terrible timing.

Yeah let's pretend Mother's dwelling and the game are as broken as a map spawning pallets 3 feet apart from each other. Nice logic.
Well The Game as an M1 killer is an instant loss because it spawns 30 God pallets 3 feet apart from each other, which is why people have been complaining about it literally since it's rework in 4.5.0.

I think a map that's giving auto wins against M1 killers is a pretty big issue. And killers are being sent to this map a lot because the chapter just came out.
"And killers are being sent to this map a lot because the chapter just came out."
It's been confirmed that this has been reverted and the map will spawn as usual until the issue is fixed.
"I think a map that's giving auto wins against M1 killers is a pretty big issue"
So let's kill switch Mother's Dwelling and The Game while we're at it.
Oh wait, it doesn't literally break the game.
-
Cheaters I understand but if you're just being bled out then tab out and go do something else for 4 minutes. It'll take less time than the penalty and you don't give them the satisfaction and you waste their time too.
-
@Devilishly_Rowdy said:
Even if you take the kill switch out of the equation, lets not forget that the devs haven't even openly admitted this "bug" in any of the official pages yet, leave alone trying to fix it.
You know that the moderation team have a direct line of communication to BHVR and therefore a mod communicating official information is the same as BHVR communicating official information?
Also what do you want them to do, release a patch the exact second they find a fix to this one specific bug ignoring every other issue that's currently in the game, including the power of Knight just not working half the time?

Far less buggy than it used to be. Nothing a buggy mess is better but definitely something new is better than something just re-changed, it's a breath of a fresh air.
Balancing changes is also a good hit, for old players but we are not those keeping up the game... new players are and if creators cannot show new stuff to people, the circle of promotion is ending.
"Far less buggy than it used to be. "
It's funny you should mention that, because this is possibly the buggiest release since RE a year and a half ago.

Limiting the content received on the game such as licensed chapters but not only is going to shrink up the entire playerbase to moments where you will see people switching up their games a lot.
Increasing the current DLC price to $10.98 in the current crisis is going to end up even worse, it will heavily reflect on BHVR as a company shortly after, a nasty backfire. If they have a bad image it will go far down hill with your recommended price and you may see it popping in trending on social medias, that also reference to other dramas that happened over the years.
Increasing mid-chapters and decreasing the rate at which original or licensed chapters drop is going to end up with a feeling of "Oh wow, they did a balance update, nothing new though... let's play something else"
DbD is kept alive and shining because of how fast new characters are dropped in the game, 3 months for each chapter is one of the greatest ideas from BHVR that made DbD to what it is now. Your suggestion from my view is going to absolutely shrink the game.
The fact that the only thing keeping dbd going is new content that's constantly buggy and one day people will say enough is enough instead of it being a genuinely fun, balanced and engaging gameplay loop doesn't sound like a problem to you?
(and for the record I suggested that price because, Ceteris paribus, it would equal an equivalent amount of revenue. Obviously this wouldn't be the case, but they have access to sales data and such not me so they can make the informed economic and business decisions)
-
To be honest I'd be in favour of upping the regular DLC price to £10.98 (2x the amount of current) and getting half as many chapters per year as we do now (1x licenced, most likely for anniversary, and 1x original most likely to be around winter), and taking the extra time gained from freeing up the relentless content grind to ensure that:
- New chapters are properly finished and have far fewer bugs, especially gamebreaking ones such as The Knight's power just not working.
- Older chapters can be revisited far more often than current, allowing reworks to killers that need them, such as Twins, Freddy, Sadako, and Nurse.
- More balance patches can be released, especially just tweaking a few numbers on certain perks just to watch what happens (it can always be fixed after a week during the hotfix patches).
- More midchapters for greater optimisations and a higher quality game overall.

Neither Survivor nor Killer bots are intended to play at the same level as a real player. Don't worry, that's not the goal. The goal is to simply teach them how to use their power, even if they don't use them as efficiently as real players. It might seem useless to you since you've already been around for a while and know how everything works, but to a newer player who just wants to practice and learn how the different Killers work before going against them, it can make a world of difference. As time goes on and the roster grows, it's only going to become more important.
Will we be able to get Demo Bot?

Its the same salty mindset of "but you didnt follow my rulebook, now its unfun for me" yeah like is it only fun when you win? without a penalty this game would litteraly be unplayable cause all feel so entitled to their fun instead of just sticking it up, shut it up and play through it, and go on with the next game.

Haddie is one of those things, at this point I think it's impossible to fix without a complete overhaul of the character we got vs what we read about. I'm sure they will add a skin to appease the Twitter folk eventually though, don't give up too much hope..
Also, fun fact.. I remember long ago now I used to hate that Feng didn't get many cosmetics compared to Nea and Meg, who were getting them almost every cosmetic cycle, and now look at her. Never say never, even if it looks unlikely.
Why appease the Twitter folk when you can instead make cosmetics for yourself, the associate art director of DBD at BHVR?
Even the lead character artist agrees with the "obnoxious things on twitter" so...
