Well, I mean, killers cannot flash a strobe light at survivors. If and when we can, I will join you and decry these foul us versus them posts. For now, sounds like survivors are borderline criminal. They deserve to be in prison and see how their flashlight fares irl. Hope they can get an animation lock flash or it is not going to be pretty.
Playing Doctor can give people seizures so no both sides can and it's still up to BHVR to at the bare minimum warn their players.

I am not playing DbD so much anymore. I am always red rank with both roles and this month i am not even silver. So i don't know. Even i buy her, i don't wanna waste my time with grind.

I wish you can get her soon. I hope everything is okey on your life.

List for you:
- Dead Hard rework
- NOED rework
- CoH nerf
- Nurse rework
- God loops nerf (Balancing maps)
- Grind rework
- Better Anti-Cheat
- Buffs for all weak killers
- Nerf for some Blight add-ons (Alch Ring is top on list)
- Better opt for old consoles and pcs
- Nerf for Bubba's camping (Not killer himself, he is okey just camp is broken on him)
- Toolbox rework (They are not longer will make gens faster)
- Early game buffs for killers (Killers are losing 3 gens are on first chase, so something new to help them)
- For cost this all killer buffs, nerf camp & tunnelling.
- Some buffs for Solo survivors, they need better coordination.
I can list more anyway, half of this changes would make DbD better. Buffing some weak perks and add-ons are not enough to make healthy update. This is why last mid-chapter was trash. Only good part, they fixed Nurse bugs.
oh it will be, just covid has messed with trying to get a job while in full time education + there's a cost of living crisis going on in the uk. it's not like i'm in absolute poverty- i can afford a phone + computer to stream on after all lmao- it's just that i have to weigh up if i really want this dlc or if i wanna get something else- like putting money towards Legends Arceus. i'll definitely end up getting her, and if worst comes to worst i have leftover cells, it's just a case of when will she be top of the priority list lmao
i absolutely have it a lot better than most people rn
but thank you for your concern <3

It’s near gens? Mained him for 500 hours and didn’t even know that lol
Gens, Hooks, Exit Switches, Hatch, and Basement!
Fun fact: you can actually figure out where Hatch is because even if it's invisible the Trails still can't spawn near it!
-
Omg hi okay I play a lot of PH let me explain!!
So basically, Pyramid Head has two different types of Trails in the game's code; a Trail Element, and a Restricted Trail Element.
By default, each segment of the Trail lasts for 75 seconds, and 100 can be spawned on the map at any one time. Going over this limit will simply remove the oldest Trails, think Hag when placing excess traps.
However, a Restricted Trail Element has a lifespan of 3 seconds, and only 25 Restricted Trails can spawn at any one time.
A Trail Element will become a Restricted Trail Element if placed either:
- Anywhere in the Basement
- Within 3m of the Hatch
- Within 4m of any Generators, Hooks, or Exit Gate Switches
It's been like this since launch; effectively, it's a failsafe to prevent survivors from being forceably tormented because you placed them too close to a Prop that they must work on. It helps balance out the insane tracking he gets.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask or check out the Wiki:
Pyramid Head or "The Executioner" is one of 27 Killers currently featured in Dead by Daylight . He was introduced as the Killer of CHAPTER XVI: Silent Hill, a Chapter DLC released on 16 June of 2020. He originates from the video game franchise Silent Hill, specifically Silent Hill 2 (2001). The Executioner is a map-manipulation Killer, able to torment Survivors with the hazards he creates. Affected Survivors will be vulnerable to his special Hook, the Cage of Atonement and his special mori, Fina -

if a dev would be a main nurse then the problem would have been solved in 48 hours xd
Oh the problem has been solved. We know it's been solved.
The issue comes from sending out the patch; why pay money and go through all of the checks, why make people install a whole new patch, for one specific fix when the next patch has been confirmed and isn't that far away?
Why spend that unnecessary money for a killer that is statistically played very little, especially in comparison to, say, Blight or Huntress, when you can just as easily put it into the next update.
It's not a matter of it being fixed, it's a matter of us receiving the patch.

Idk if I'll get it d1 because I'm broke as hell.
Like RE I was given as a present, Hellraiser my friend took pity on me, Hour of the Witch I won in a perk design competition, and it took me a month and a half to scrape up the funds for Artist.
If I get her, I'll have to quadruple check I can afford to first or hope the Hellraiser friend takes pity on me again 🏃

BHVR should put a photosensitivity warning at the beginning of the game with a check-box acknowledging that you have read and understand the warning.
But I'm kind of with @Voodoo_Thirsty, people need to start taking personal responsibility with things like this and not rely warnings to protect them from obvious dangers. I don't know anyone with epilepsy and I've always known that you don't play video games because it can induce seizures. Once you've been diagnosed with epilepsy, you need to be extra careful with your health, you can't risk your health by expecting the entire world to insulate you.
If they can't fix the issues with photosensitivity a warning is the very least they can do. If there's no way to inform yourselves except for other community posts about the subject, then there is no reliable way to inform yourself to begin with.
Both parties in this scenario need to do better. This, obviously, includes BHVR.

Since you clearly missed it and assumed I was using electric soldier polygon for the argument
I was using it as a reference in response to karu about how even pokemon can have their faults but they banned the episode and did measures to prevent this scenario from happening again
And pokemon is one of my favorite series heck the number in my username is the number to my favorite pokemon
I feel like you quoted the wrong person. 🤸
-
@Dionysus42 said:
As usual, the victim is to blame. Even though there is no warning (a warning many other games have no problem providing), it's still the person's own fault for not 'informing' themselves through some magical process that remains obscure to us, but which is clearly very easy and accessible. No need to make any changes 🤡
Perhaps they should reverse the Sadako photo-sensitivity changes, and leave a note saying 'if you have problems you should've informed yourself lmao'?
Ik we don't agree often but I'm 100% with you here. There's absolutely zero warnings in-game, on the EULA, on the box art- nowhere. The only mentions of epilepsy are from other people warning others that it can be potentially triggering.
OP may have been irresponsible in this specific scenario, but that doesn't mean BHVR shouldn't do better anyway. If they can't remove the issue then the least they could do is provide a clear warning that's easily accessible to many people- hell, Pokemon does it better by specifying basic reading is needed to play the games.

I´d say all killers should be more or less equally viable. Only having 2 killers that can be played on high mmr ratings gets kinda stale. For both sides. The issue that bothers me the most is, that the devs see on their data, that something is meta, but don´t ask themselves WHY it is meta.
I´ve seen killers struggle with 2 slowdown perks. During a Q&A they once said, that a perk shouldn´t be obligatory to use. Looking at how killers struggle with gen defense is a clear indicator that something is far off.
On a QnA stream they also said that with each new updated map totem spawns got hidden better...
If anything, they've only gotten worse.

If it takes them 5 years to add in a colorblind mode (which almost every single modern game ships standard with) I don't think you can say they care.
They clearly cared about the backlash, but if they cared it would've been in the game in Year 2, not Year 5.
Likewise, there has been talk of flashlight macro's being detrimental to people's health for YEARS. They give me a headache, but nothing as dire as what OP described. There is Z E R O reason to allow people to spam click a flashlight tens of times a second.
This isn't an us vs them. This isn't a "wah, clicky clicky flashlight." This is a legitimate need. Either BHVR needs to actually put photosensitivity warnings in their game (they do) or they need to stop people from input spamming their flashlight.
This argument shouldn't be us vs them*
Slight correction because a few pathetic people have decided that no, this argument actually is us vs them. For some unknown, stupid ######### reasons.

I'm honestly surprised that ######### made it out like the survivor side in me was like man this will get abused to hell and back by my friend who like to troll and I was right no joke we had 10+ matches where the killer left(this was before killers started to slug and bleedout survivors) because of multiple people having it I refused to use it as i know how much it sucked to play against that and I preferred to stick with my gen rush build
I remember facing an agi/Starstruck Nurse on Coldwind who got greedy for a basement hook and Boil Over punished them. It was quite nice.
I also remember the Artist who told my friends + I that we were the reason they game was unfun and we should uninstall if we're going to play like dicks.
I also remember the thirteen killers we made DC because of Boil Over.
I'm so glad it got nerfed.

love people turning an accessibility suggestion into an us vs them discussion.
good lord.
It's actually pathetic, I'm gonna be honest.
Accessibility shouldn't be weaponised like this. It should just be a basic feature to allow people to play the game.
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
I have to be blunt here and say that a person with serious epilepsy should not be any where NEAR a game that has a flashlight or anything that allows fast on & off light feature.
I mean, what was your cousin doing there in the first place? KNOWING DBD has flashlights that could cause something severe.
Feels more like short thinking on your part as a family member than the game/players' fault.
That's like me, bringing my cousin to play a clown game when I know he has Coulrophobia and being surprised when I see him foam at the mouth.
The game should take greater precautions. If they can't fix the issue they should at least do the bare minimum and provide a warning somewhere. But there isn't one- not in-game, not the Steam profile, not on Switch boxart, nowhere. They should take some responsibility too.
-
Mainly PC, Steam, Cross-on.
Very rarely Switch, Cross-on.
Mostly have the Switch for testing things without needing someone else tho
-
I second this idea. I don't suffer from photosensitivity myself but accessibility is something I'm passionate about and this needs to be changed. Like, asap.
They can't necessarily just prevent clicking- if you barely mistime a save you can click slightly to get it, for instance, so having 2/3 clicks per second allowed. There shouldn't be any more than that, at all.
-
@CrashMADDS13 said:
Yeah, don't count on it. They only patched sadako because it affected survivors.
Despite years of epilepsy concerns for killers and macro flashlights, actual player health will never be more important than a toxic survivors ability to harass and bully a killer player.
Is now really the time for an us vs them argument??

Information deficit is what needs reworking and they are working on.
I've always held the stance that fixing the solo/swf gap would effectively get rid of 99% of my problems with NOED as a perk so I'm looking forward to the time in 15 years when they implement the basics of this
-
@hailxsatanxeveryxday said:
If you're relying on NOED to get 4Ks, you're probably in pretty low MMR.
It wouldn't result in much of a difference in terms of 4K, but changing it would completely gut endgame builds, so I'm against it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2836938#Comment_2836938
It doesn't singlehandedly save the day if the killer only got two hooks all game... not unless your entire team throws themselves at the hook during the EGC, anyway, and in that case, it's your fault.
Leave NOED alone. It's only good for endgame builds (risky in the first place) and against bad survivors who throw them game because they figure there's no way they'll lose when five gens have been done.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2837149#Comment_2837149
Alerting survivors to its existence before a single hit would make NOED unusable. Incentivizing totem cleansing is a much better idea since there's currently no practical benefit to cleansing dull totems in order to prevent NOED. In many cases, survivors will memorize all the totems they have seen and immediately go cleanse NOED as soon as they realize you have it, so telling survivors that it exists the very second it arrives mean that killers wouldn't get kills running it most games, which isn't fair considering that you already have to use an entire perk slow for it.
Which is what survivors complaining about it want. They want it nerfed so hard that it's not functionally useful at all. They want it to be a waste of a perk slot even though it's already only good against people who play badly.
Alternatively, make it so that Undying doesn't activate until there's already a Hex totem on the field. That'll make dull totem cleansing more useful in general, protect NOED even if the game told you it exists as soon as it spawns, and then also serve as a soft nerf to NOED since it means you won't want to run other Hexes in the same buuild.
Look I'm sorry but a perk that's only good against bad people and/or solo queue due to information deficit is objectively terribly designed and deserves a rework 🤸
-
Oh they're probably trying to emulate the funny clicky clicky streamers they've seen except the funny streamers actually have some talent whilst they... don't, and it leads to very sad flops while you just stare in disappointment like Sadako

I posted the video there. Check the gameplay at 52:30. I don't get motion sick and even i find it confusing which surface you are traversing each moment.
But a solution to both motion sickness and having an overpowered ability could be to lower movement speed while wall crawling.
Something like normal movement would be 110/115% and spiderclimbijg would be around 90%. Don't know, would need to be tested.
But another aspect to a spider killer would be camera position and fov, as the spider would need to be lower than hag and most low walled loops.
In after school or how the discord DBD was called, this was circumvented by having a third person view iirc?
Oh, trust me, it would. A lot.
As someone who has motion sickness, being able to choose what FOV to play on, particularly being able to customise it for different characters, would be an absolute life saver. I cannot stress to you how awful it felt to play FNAF Security Breach before I found a way to increase the FOV myself.
While it wouldn't solve everyone's issues being able to have larger FOV is definitely a typical accessibility feature that we should have in DBD by this point.
(plus in a different thread I suggested the killer be humanoid feat. More arms than necessary so that would help with the camera issue since, you know, humanoid)
-
@burt0r said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2837033#Comment_2837033
I posted a similar idea in one if the ops other threads.
Using the wall crawling mechanics from the old "alien vs Predator 2" from the aliens. Coupled with something like the demo pounce.
But that could be hard to code and also broken, as it could ignore all survivor defence (pallets and loops) and have strong mobility, imagine pounce with demo from the top of some buildings across the map.
Also after watching footage from AVP 2, motion sickness would also limit the accessibility of the killer.
Now we've fixed Stretched Res we do what most games are doing for accessibility and add in an FOV slider bam

At no time did I say that they are the majority, but it is a fact that every post on this issue appears several people saying that CoH is fine.
"A lot" suggests either majority or very large minority. Of course there will be people saying the perk is fine, but looking at those threads it's always the same 3-4 people feat. around 2-3 accounts with less than 10 posts who get banned before they reach 200. The majority of players recognise how busted the perk is based on the fact it singlehandedly deleted every killer without a chase power from play overnight.

While it seems easy to just zone for auto win, there is a hell of a lot more nuance towards him. Hitting through the wall shots, corner shots, knowing when to and not to cage, etc. There's a lot more to him than meets the eye and to play him properly you need a lot of effort and knowledge of survivor pathing for effective predictions. Plus, you need to be adaptable to change your style up whenever based on the survivors you're facing.

if you have to go do something then the 5 minute penalty wont affect you. if you have to do it multiple times in a single day then maybe pick a better day to play a live service game.
