pyramid head floor creep

friend recently got pyramid head, and it was my understanding that you could surround a hook with creep to help spread corruption. tried it and it disappeared instantly. did they change this? or are we just stupid?

  • It’s an anti camp method of sorts, to allow unhooks without forcing torment, the y immediately go away around hooks.

  • He never was able to do that it always goes away instantly in the basement, gens, hooks, door switches, and I think totems as well.

  • Omg hi okay I play a lot of PH let me explain!!

So basically, Pyramid Head has two different types of Trails in the game's code; a Trail Element, and a Restricted Trail Element.

By default, each segment of the Trail lasts for 75 seconds, and 100 can be spawned on the map at any one time. Going over this limit will simply remove the oldest Trails, think Hag when placing excess traps.

However, a Restricted Trail Element has a lifespan of 3 seconds, and only 25 Restricted Trails can spawn at any one time.

A Trail Element will become a Restricted Trail Element if placed either:

    • Anywhere in the Basement
    • Within 3m of the Hatch
    • Within 4m of any Generators, Hooks, or Exit Gate Switches

It's been like this since launch; effectively, it's a failsafe to prevent survivors from being forceably tormented because you placed them too close to a Prop that they must work on. It helps balance out the insane tracking he gets.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask or check out the Wiki:

Pyramid Head or "The Executioner" is one of 27 Killers currently featured in Dead by Daylight . He was introduced as the Killer of CHAPTER XVI: Silent Hill, a Chapter DLC released on 16 June of 2020. He originates from the video game franchise Silent Hill, specifically Silent Hill 2 (2001). The Executioner is a map-manipulation Killer, able to torment Survivors with the hazards he creates. Affected Survivors will be vulnerable to his special Hook, the Cage of Atonement and his special mori, Fina

Gens, Hooks, Exit Switches, Hatch, and Basement!

Fun fact: you can actually figure out where Hatch is because even if it's invisible the Trails still can't spawn near it!
