Anybody who complains about BBQ can't loop, so they hate that the killer can see where they are, like it's that powerful somehow.
Since I main clown I reload after every hook, so I barely see the aura's lol.

Its going to be on the 5 year aniversary (this or the walking dead).
I hope that it is some kind of grey alien (because an easter egg from the reworked autoheaven realm). Im hopping him to have a power similar to the old freddy. Damm I miss him a lot.
Dude a grey alien killer would be so amazing.

I guess those people spent those 3k+ hours in the lobby then lol
Most likely, but those kind of players love running every 2nd chance perk possible, and still complain about certain killer perks.

I mean, do you really think survivors lose because they are bad? Hell no, of course it's the killer's fault for using overpowered perks.
Shadowborn is very overpowered. :) I've gotten a complaint about it too.

Barbecue is slightly annoying at worst. Great for farming bl and encouraging moving from the hooks. Also has counterplay so any survivor saying it’s op just hasn’t played long enough
Believe or not most of the complaints I have gotten recently are from people with 3k+ hours.

@Lexilogo said:
It's complained about solely because they see it a lot. Familiarity breeds contempt.
The reality of the perk's current balance is that, BP bonuses aside, it's really not much different in power levels or fairness when compared to competitors like A Nurse's Calling or Bitter Murmur.
It's quite silly, given that BBQ is designed to disincentivise anti-fun Killer strategies like tunnelling and facecamping.
It seems like survivors want more tunneling and camping. If they want to butcher tracking perks, then they are going to pay the price for it.

@Mr_K said:
From my observations after being hooked.
The other survivor, crouched behind an object, sits there oblivious to the approaching killer headed directly towards them. Takes off running after being hit.
If we gotta be honest most survivors are oblivious what's going on most of the time. I play survivor quite frequently too, but I don't complain about any killer perks. Sure NOED can be the one that does reward failure, but it's still easily countered. Survivors complaining about bbq is just mindboggling, because it's one of the few perks in the game that reward you for doing the primary objective. Most survivors still don't know how to counter bbq which is sad, because it's literally one of the easiest perks to counter. So they complain about it for their own mistakes.
-
@Karao_Ke said:
Considering BBQ can easily be countered by hiding in a locker/getting behind a gen once you find out that the killer obviously has it, I have no idea why they think it's a good idea to butcher it.
I guess some people just want their win being handed to them on a silver-platter instead of working for it by adapting to their opponents playstyle & perks. Crazy.
It's literally just a primary bp perk. Sure it can be useful sometimes, but you find yourself barely even getting a ton of tracking use out of it. It's not only just that, but like I have said in prior posts of mine. People are complaining about corrupt, shadowborn, STBFL. BBQ is the main one that's getting more flack though out of the rest. Considering it's not even a strong perk, because whispers can be much better if used right.

@Pilot said:
They gotta complain about something right?
I mean.... They can't blame themselves for losing, now can they?
Well, it's typically people who run the 4 2nd chances of hell who complain about it. I've just been hearing it way too much. Heard it literally 3 times yesterday alone.

I say gg every game and every game I get racial slurs and insults back instead of a gg. If you play rank 1 survivor solo the killer always says gg back but if you play rank 1 killer you get more significant more hate than GG's. You can tell that no matter what from this bully squad post game would be toxic so I gave them toxicity back. I don't think being toxic because other people were toxic to you first is being toxic. Its leveling the field.
I beat a record of 7 games equals 7 raging survivors in end game chat in a row today. They called me a lot of things every single time.

But I'm not red ranks though that's my point, i cant even improve my trapper game play because im a rank 12 killer that keeps getting put with red rank survivors, i haven't even been playing a year so i don't have every killer perk going either.
Why do i have to change something when the game keeps putting me with players that are the highest ranking when im only green rank.
Which also means i have no way of improving my play when i don't even have a chance.
I started playing back in august, and it was pretty bad for me also. I went against reds constantly at literally rank 20. I got dunked on over and over again, but I rapidly picked up skill level and 1 week later I was already a rank 1 killer. It's about adapting and trying to perform to your best ability. The state of matchmaking is honestly absolutely terrible. I don't think they will ever fix it's consistency, and I think it will be garbage for the rest of the games life. You just have to toughen it out. If you want to play trapper you certainly can, but like I said before. Learn the game better with another killer, and go back to trapper once you have higher game sense.
-
@Okaythenn said:
honestly seen so many people respond on other post saying ranks don't matter just have fun.
IT'S NOT FUN.
not fun at all when you hit rank 14 and keep getting put with rank 4 swf you can't do anything, you can't even improve because you don't have a chance to even play.
I mained trapper but i had to change that because I'm new and don't have every perk going of all killers the trapper is useless to high ranks, I'm just a slow machete guy, so i had to change something i enjoyed and was hoping to improve and get better at to another killer where i atleast had some power of a chance.
It really needs to be fixed.
You can still play trapper in reds, but you need certain perks to make it more simple on you. Right now your best option is to play another decent killer, and as you get more skill you can go back to trapper, because you'll learn a lot more game sense, since trapper is a game sense killer. Especially in red ranks.

It’s not that they weren’t useful. It’s just that now they’re totally redundant. If Clown can charge down a survivor in the Invigorated state before Intoxicating a survivor, an extra 0.33 seconds or 0.66 seconds is now meaningless.
The yellow bottles are map dependent also now too though. It really depends on the survivors that you go against that depend on if using the yellows are worth while. They typically are because survivors like to just hold sprint forward and ignore everything else, but some of the higher level players typically won't give you that chance to make them shine. That's why I think ether 10 should've stayed, because against some high end teams you are going to be finding yourself using pink most of the time. With those .66 seconds meaning if you win the game or not. Depending on how many times it actually saves you from them getting to that window or pallet or whatever.

I really miss the big bottles. Especially since they removed the “gas lingers longer” effect entirely. I can barely even notice the larger cloud addon anymore.
It was tons of fun to instantly gas a huge loop with 1 bottle when I didn’t feel like having to make super precise shots.
Maybe he’s better overall if you are constantly juggling the gas types but honestly I don’t feel like having to micro that much. Might as well just play someone like nurse at that point.
Yea I don't know I just feel like there was some changes that they didn't need to do with him. Chloroform is still strong on corn maps due to the way the walls work, but it isn't as efficient as it use to be in terms of strength it feels like it lost some of it's value, but I haven't noticed it severely yet. Might play with it more later and find out. He is much better if you juggle gas types, but it is still not easy to find efficient ways to use his bottles in loops considering most people don't even try to loop clown.

Nah, no way. Now that base reload is 3 seconds, Inner Soles + Cork Stopper is an extremely good combo.
Now that it’s more likely a reload is required mid chase from using Tonics & Antidotes together, being able to reload in just 2 seconds AND have a survivor gain such a little, marginal bit of distance is just golden.
I never find myself reloading in mid chase typically unless it is at a loop where they are trapped. So the inner soles to me would be useless. I've played only against 1 good clown player and he even said it wasn't a good addon. You most likely have way more hours clocked in on clown over me, so I'll take your word, but I couldn't ever figure out the purpose of it even now.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1964081#Comment_1964081
I’m still pretty convinced 10% & 5% were redundant now that Clown can invigorate himself before intoxicating a survivor, which can be done in many circumstances.
Yes, I’ll agree that SOMETIMES it’s not possible to Invigorate, but not often.
I don't think 5% was the best, but if you were only running grey addons the fingerless parade gloves were great with it. Now there isn't much options to just do greys only which is a bummer. I don't think they were redundant if you didn't want to use certain addons to accommodate it.
-
@SilentPill said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1964076#Comment_1964076
Yeah I have noticed that as well. I have smashed bottles onto objects above loops and all the gas gets stuck above the loop whereas before it would actually cover it. They must have changed the physics to accommodate for the yellow bottles.
The detonation delay is horrible since it means they get slowed down less overall because the gas goes into effect when they are further away from the center.
Overall I’d take the old clown back with the reload buff if I could. New clown isn’t as fun for me.
To be completely honest I would rather them take back yellows if it meant getting rid of the stupid detonation delay. Newer killer shacks have the same problem where if you don't hit a beamer inside the killer shack that gas is not going anywhere. but on the roof, and not inside the killer shack. There is some problems right now with him. I've been trying to just do bottle tosses which are about a good majority of what I hit to accommodate the delay, because I've been getting robbed too much. Bottle tosses on objects have some serious problems right now, and I have no idea why either.

@TheClownIsKing said:
I mean, as much as I advocate that small numbers count, in Clowns case the ether add ons were just so marginal.
Ether 15% is still just an additional 1 second of Intoxicated, which is good in actual practice. But 10% was just 0.66 of a second, and 5% was just 0.33 of a second.
Now that Clown can Invigorate himself, such small boosts to Intoxicated were just redundant.
It can be marginal numbers, but having to run purple ether as your only line of intoxicated duration just seems pointless to me. I don't like using purple addons often. There is a lot of situations where you can't really use the invigorate bottles, and have to stick to purple, and those .66 seconds can help a lot if you are on your last bottle and the person is going to make it to the window or pallet. Ether 15 is the much better choice, but the .66 helped a lot in terms getting some specific hits. I still think it should've stayed.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I agree. When the PTB went live I also wrote in a feedback-Thread that the 10%-Ether should have stayed. I dont really see a point in the Spirit of Hartshorn and still think that the 10%-Ether should have been kept.
They could've removed the stupid movement while reload if they wanted hartshorn to be an addon.
-
@SilentPill said:
I feel like clown is worse to play after the changes. The gas seems to expand much more slowly and has a delay that it didn’t previously have.
The “moderately increased gas area” bottles are significantly worse than before and cover much less ground.
He got the reload buff but that’s about it, the gas itself seems worse.
The detonation is incorrect right now I don't know if it was intended or a bug, but I noticed that people don't medium vault unless the bottle was thrown at them at least 1 second ahead of time. The delay is a serious problem though, and it was not there prior to changes. I still play him just fine, but I've been missing out on hits, because of the detonation delay. Considering he is literally the only killer I play on the highest level without having much problems. The AOE isn't also covering as much ground in terms of properly intoxicating the player which is a serious problem if you throw on high objects like I do. Chloroform seems fine to me, but I could be objectively wrong on that. I think it's something to with his bottles, and some of his addon changes were stupid.

The fact is the visualisation of the pip system is broken, not the game mechanics. So the game shows you did well when you didn't. (That's a fact!)
That's not correct in the slightest. Why do I not get an unbroken emblem now when I don't escape, but I stayed alive the entire match until the very end. You use to get at least a silver most times. Now you get nothing if you don't escape. I derank most of the time now if I don't get iridescent in at least 2 category's along with a silver or gold if I don't escape. The visuals are not busted. They work just fine.
-
Emblem system is broken for survivor right now. This is an actual fact. Take it or leave it, but it really is a fact. Case closed on this one.

@Yamaoka said:
Wait... You're saying killers lose to survivors on the highest level of play ?
Now that's shocking and totally not what everyone knows already lol.
Sorry for the sarcasm but really that's not news to anyone. Killer skill does not matter in DBD and never will because the game is intentionally balanced around the mediocre survivor level.
And even at that level of balance average solo survivors struggle to escape regularly.
I think that's wrong though in my opinion at least. Solo survivors have been getting more aware of just splitting up on gens. If everyone just splits up on gens the game is done 95% of the time. You can loop for like 15 seconds, and as long as everyone glues to gens the killer doesn't stand a chance unless they slug.

In my opinion it's corrupt. I feel like I'm at a downside when I'm not using it. It gives tracking to likely survivor spawns, can give a late game 3 gen, and delays gens at the start of the game from popping, not only by making survivors find new gens but also making them come closer to you, making them easier to contest.
Corrupt feels like a band aid fix to the "3 gens popping in your 1st hook" problem, it took old ruins slot when ruin got a rework a while ago.
(And if a dev sees this, no, do not nerf corrupt, it is a fair and fine perk, anyone will tell you that)
It has to be corrupt for the most consistency. Without it you lose too many gens at the start. It's the only gen control perk I run.

I do agree both sides do have the right to complain, but I just never thought I would hear the day that shadowborn is a crutch perk. This group was running 1 Object with 4 ds 4 dead hards and either bt or iron will with a misc perk of whatever.
-
Killers get tired of survivors thinking they are special at the game. So the built up stress from previous matches go into the next round the killer plays. I don't get stressed out or anything, because it's the same stuff, and nothing original, but I can understand why killers can be much more toxic or much more rude, because no matter how you play you will end up getting angry messages. I get people complain about my build running non gen regression all the time. I get called every name in the book, and if survivors win it's a gg ez baby killer type deal. If they lose they still get mad. I've seen some toxic killers, but nowhere even remotely close to the amount of toxic survivors there are. I've played both sides pretty equally split between 1500 hours despite about 600 hours of that not even playing the game. Survivor is a way less stressful role to many people, and killer is about time crunching, and you having to play perfectly in order to usually secure the win if you want it. We are pushing into this gen rush meta right now. Where killers simply can't keep up with gen speeds, because nobody wants to really chase due to desync problems, and the efficient strategy it is to just do gens. So killers are much more stressed out about it.
-

I have to play with shadowborn. There is no way I can play around it. The low fov without it actually hurts my eyes, and I was glad once I finally did get shadowborn. It needs to be default or in a slider, because the low fov is just absolutely awful. It sucks that I can not switch out one perk, and running cool builds, without straining my eyes.

True though. I get teabagged all the time, and it still doesn't phase me. It's literally a normal occurrence when playing killer. If you can't get past that then killer is not the role for you.

I don't think it's as survivor sided now, because you can clean out the main building without much of an issue, and god window isn't really one anymore because of the breakable wall, but the god pallets should've been reduced because it's the same god pallets as before.

Ideally, I'd like to see 2-3 games where on each one you had to sweat pretty hard to keep up with the surviors. Where you have good loopers who know how to run jungle gyms and the shack and main buildings. All the while gens are getting done at a reasonable rate. This is the true experience people want to see I believe.
I mean I don't sweat even against sweaty teams. I'm just relaxed during it. So it'll just be casual gameplay, and I'll surf around for some good teams to get that gameplay. I just went against a 3k+ hour team, but to be honest they were potato and killed themselves on hook, so like it wasn't even a fun game lol.
