How playing Trickster feels like:
-
Pyramid and Freddy are actually quite solid. Also, I would say that Bubba, Nemesis, Pinhead and Demogorgon are mid tiers. The only weak licenses imo are Pig, Sadako, Ghostface and Myers and the only one of these who is unplayable for how bad he is, is Myers.
Normally I'm more lenient towards judging licensed killers because they have to be fair representations of their original material. Sadako for example is an excellent adaptation, it's just that she is really out of tune with the game's balance. Meanwhile you get Trickster, who is an original killer, that has a copy paste of Huntress power but being absolutely garbage. I would say that it is much easier to forgive Sadako than to forgive Trickster.
-
Franklin's is one of my favourite perks. It takes only one toolbox for me to put that bad boy on.
-
Plague's design is just top-notch. It is creative, mysterious and very different from her fellow killers but in a good way.
For survivor I would say Jane.
As you can see, I am a great fan of Demise of the Faithful.

I think it’s decent enough. Much better than Bird Poop Lady. They could improve the lower part and make it more smokey/cloudy though.
The baby doll cosmetic is great though.
Poor Artist. At least her animations are cool and she isn't Trickster, so that's good!
-
IMO, Dredge is a really solid killer. I know it's a bit early to say that, but he feels like A tier material.
My only complaint is that his control scheme feels a bit uncomfortable, but maybe that's because I use Shift as the power button and Ctrl as the secondary power button (Actually, I've spoken with console players and they agreed with me when I said his control scheme is kinda weird).
Also, on the lore and design aspect, Dredge is probably the killer that most disturbs me, since his lore seems to be inspired by the Jonestown tragedy.
Overall, a very solid release.
-
As a player who only plays killer, David is on my list of "hot man who can get hatch if they happen to be the last survivor", but ofc, if I need someone dead I won't care to kill him. It is hard to say if a killer is tunneling someone because of personal bias or just because they are trying to win, unless they literally say that on the end game chat.
I would like to add that David players feel kinda "oblivious" sometimes, just like Bills, which maybe makes them easy targets.
-
Did they buff it? The PTB version was really weak. The window of usage was really small and once the survivors understood that you're using Dissolution, they would use the speed buff of getting hit to gain distance, instead of staying the same loop.
If the perk wasn't buffed, I can see it having as much usage as Blood Favor.
-
Saying Sadako 2.0 is weird since he is much better her by a huge shot. His chase power is fun, but if you don't like it, I can't convince you otherwise since fun is relative.
His perks are kinda thrash though.
-
I feel like it depends on the case. On the maps that were added after breakable walls (Saloon and Midwich), they are absolutely ok, because if you go out of your way to break the wall beforehand the loop is basically destroyed or it becomes a really weak loop. The problem is on the reworked maps because BHVR added a breakable wall where there weren't any, so it ends up as a infinite loop with the wall and a still strong as hell loop when its broken (ex: Groaning Storehouse, Coal Tower, Father's Chappel).

I think Trickster would be too oppressive at 115%. You'd actually be able to do well at high wall jungle gyms and shack.
Nah man. Trickster is probably the second worst killer in the game. He would need much more than a speed buff to be even remotely oppressive.
-
To be honest, none of the ranged trio (Huntress, Deathslinger and Trickster) should be 110%.
-
I have never spent a single BP on a survivor so no prestige. As for killer, my P3s are Doctor, Hag, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Spirit, Plague, Twins and Onryō. Next on the list is PyramidHead.
-
Neither
-
There were two jumpscare killers in the game, Hag and Spirit. Spirit was nerfed and now she doesn't jumpscare anymore. Now only Hag remains.
-
Exhausted only does something if the survivor has an exhaustion perk. To be fair, nowadays it is a useful status to afflict survivors with Mindbreaker or Blood Echo, but if exhaustion perks ever stop being used it's going to be a useless status.
What's more, I feel like exhaustion doesn't feel like a gamble for the best perk group in the game. Yeah, you Dead Hard and now you're exhausted and so what? You can't use Dead Hard again? It feels kinda off tbh.
-
Who could have thought that nerfing an already weak killer and giving nothing to compensate would be a bad idea right?
-
I miss Hawkins so much, it was one of the best maps in the game gameplay wise.
I wonder if the devs still have it's archives saved in case Netflix changes their opinions.
-
I like how the whole community agrees that survivor is the easy role lol

How about you just kill them instead because you're the killer?
It's because sometimes I want to have a normal game, which means a 4v1. If you kill a survivor early most of the times it just becomes a pointless game where you get to see how fast you can kill the other 3.
-
First, I would like to state that I really dislike Artist's and I do think it has really bad writing in a way that makes it seem like a bad creepypasta.
Putting that aside, for the reason she kills I just assume she is possessed by the crows. She makes crow-like noises, on her mori she attempts to fly like a bird to attack the survivors and she kicks pallets with two legs. With that being said, it's pretty safe to assume that she isn't on her full consciousness on the trials, which may explain her actions.

Yamaoka is probably my favorite. It tends to be really balanced and just drips with atmosphere.
I also really enjoy Midwich (atmosphere) and the new Haddonfield.

Midwich, yeah.
Lery's can be a nightmare, depending on how stuff spawns. I've had near-infinites on that map, near the office. It is a blast as spoopy Myers though.
Saloon is all well and good until you get an SWF that knows how to run you around the main building.
Shelter woods can be the most killer sided map in the game, or you can have 4 jungle gyms spawn right next to each other and form a literal infinite.
RPD can get bent. Horrible map, whether I'm playing on survivor or killer. Looking forward to the remake.

The Autohaven maps are just too damn dark for me, probably due to my OLED screen.
Family Residence okay, fair enough, but Sanctum of Wrath is horrible, easily one of my least favorite maps.
-
I am a Twins player and I will tell you that I have already lost more than one game only because of exponential.
-
This feature for add-ons and offerings is pointless since there aren't many of them per character. Perks however would be a good QoL change since there are so many of them.
-
The others killers are at least functional.

Personally I would love if Hangmans Trick was looked at. It's been out for so long and it's one of those killer perks that I honestly never see, it's not even a meme perk because it adds to nothing.
Personally I would love to see them make it into a scourge perk, scourge: hangman's trick. No idea what it would do but seems interesting.
As for survivors, Visionary. Just like why? Why even have a cooldown for it too. I rather have them just completely rework this perk because it's not like it's a beginner friendly perk because it's a DLC perk and it's not even that good.
For Hangman's Trick I would suggest giving exposed to survivors that try to sabotage hooks. It still wouldn't be used, but it would become a gimmick to people who hate sabo.
What I really want to see tho it is Dying Light getting that obsession buff removed. The perk would already be underwhelming without the heal buff, so I don't see why not remove it.
For survivor I just have no idea.
-
1 - Midwich
2 - Lery's Memorial Institue
3 - Dead Dawg Saloon
4 - Shelter Woods
5 - RPD
It's just a joy to play on these maps imo.

The don't really fit anywhere in DBD's gampeplay. Or they can but nowhere near as well as Wesker.
??????? This is the most ?????? I have seen in the last three weeks.
-
My only P3 characters are Freddy, Doctor, Hag, Twins, Plague, Pig, Clown, Spirit and Sadako is under progress.
I have decided that I will never prestige Nurse for this single reason:
-
Dissolution will suffer from the Blood Favor syndrome. A perk that has a very small window of usage that ends up getting no use at all.
-
I really hope that the W stands for Wack Baker or Woman Dimitrescu.
-
Zelda is probably my second favorite gaming franchise ever. With that being said, this collaboration will never happen and I'm glad it won't.

Well that's not true. Lightborn requires survivors to have flashlights (and the few perks they have to blind killers) and to a lesser extent Franklin's requires an item.
the difference is that you can see the items survivors are bringing into a trial meaning you can plan to bring those perks to counter items.
Yeah, but as you said, you can actually see the items survivors are bringing so I doubt anyone would bring these two perks without any item lobby. You wouldn't have that knowledge with Shattered Hope.

@Satelit said:
In wouldn't be the first perk that does nothing if the other side doesn't have something specific.Distortion is useless if there's no aura reading from the killer.
Yeah but it is the first killer perk in this regard. I'm not saying that it's a good or bad thing but killer perks up until now always work regardless of the other side.
-
I wouldn't say "meh" I would say that she is okay.

From a recent thread, about DS and BT being nerfed.
"All I can say for now is hang tight. Not only have we not announced the extent of the perk changes, but we're preparing base game changes to go along with these meta changes. We are not forgetting about the reasons why the meta perks are meta." ~Peanits
Huh.
Base game changes.
That sounds...interesting.
Omg, are they finally gonna understand that gen defence is meta because gen speeds are broken? Is this a dream?
-
-> I want this game to be more friendly.
-> I want to establish dominance.
Make up your mind.

Trickster makes perfect sense, fits into DBD's aesthetic and tone perfectly, and has a really compelling story concept to boot.
Wesker is legitimately the weirdest and least fitting thing that'll have ever come to the game, at least based on what I know. I won't pretend to be an RE superfan, but I've picked things up here and there and I've seen some clips.
I completely disagree on the Trickster thing, but that's off-topic.
Yeah, Wesker is probably the worst choice I can think of for a RE killer. He only gets his closure on RE5 which is one of the least liked RE games ever and plays more like an action game than a horror game. I can see Wesker being the choice for a license in a shooter game, but as a killer in DbD it just doesn't sit right with me.
-
@jesterkind said:
While obviously Lady D is the best choice (with close second being a tie between Jack Baker and Heisenberg), I do think the sheer deranged insanity of picking Wesker is entertaining in its own way, so I'm not that upset.
Ikr, it's probably the single most questionable choice they have made since deciding to create Trickster.

Killers can't afford to waste an entire perk slot to simply break a boon. This needed to be fixed in the base kit of the game.
Tbh, I would suggest making the perk the other way around. Make bones break on snuffing basekit and then make the perk not destroy the totem. It would still give people a choice but keep the most popular alternative basekit.
-
We know that you shouldn't be getting condemned kills unless the survivors are really incompetent but the problem is that most matches survivors won't even need to deal with the tapes. With Pig, they do need to deal with the RBTs, so it works as a slowdown but Sadako isn't like that.
-
All I want is the new chapter and Dead Hard nerf. When they do that, they can end the stream and I will be a happy man.
-
Orphan of Kos (Bloodborne)
Chucky (Child's Play)
Martha (Outlast 2)
Gathered (Amnesia)
Springtrap (FNAF)
-
I'm pretty sure Oni is bisexual. He was the type of guy to be straight at home and gay between his buddies on the battlefield.
-
Finally Suffocation Pit getting the hate it deserves.
-
Out of the options, I prefer this. However, I have a better idea.
Make each survivor leave a different color of scratch marks. It would be useful in cases where you're searching for a particular survivor and you don't know which marks you're following. It would be also specially good on Spirit, since one of her counterplay is mudding the tracks so she can't find the survivor she was chasing.
-
It's not necessarily because of the flashlights, I just like to use Franklin's against any item.
-
I never thought I would ever say this but... Haddonfield is finally a balanced map and the house of pain is not such a pain anymore.
Did Elon Musk also buy BHVR and I'm not aware of it?
-
Dead Hard saves you a health state. CoH saves a health state for the entire team.
-
I swear that if I get another Oni or Huntress daily, I am going to scream.
