Hexes in general are not worth it.
-
All the killers that I like work really well on RPD and I don't play mobility killers neither Huntress/Slinger/Trickster so I am fine with it.

Or you could just snuff out the boon, use healing slowdown or play bubba & plague.
Its like me saying that I will teabag and harass every killer that uses ruin. Ridiculous
No, there is no strategy in harassing a killer and teabagging them. On the other hand, the only way to get rid of a boon, which is a mechanic that benefits all 4 survivors, is by killing the user. Therefore, it makes sense to get rid of the boon user as just by them existing they will give every other survivor a big benefit.

Just drop twins until the event is over and play bubba / nemesis who crap on the snowman mechanic.
Yeah, I am playing Doctor and Plague on this event but I'm just making a point about how little BHVR cares about who paid for their content...
-
Well, because it is.
Getting someone out of the game early is always a good option. Also, most survivors will stop doing gens to bodyblock or go for flashlight saves, which gives you more reason to do it since they are busy not doing gens.
-
3 + a gen tracking perk.
Normally Pop, Thana, Eruption and Discordance. Ofc, this changes on some killers depending on synergy, but the base is there.
-
@Kurri said:
No. As long as they can rebless totems infinitely, and bless over hexes (resulting in losing the hex). They are just going to break the game, make the current gen rush - dash to safe zone meta even worse, and make Hex perks obsolete.
I agree. I think that the other changes were unnecessary. If they implemented a way to break boon totem and make them useless, they would be absolutely fine.

Except, the game is assessing games as a 1v1 now rather than a 1v4 - despite demanding the survivor side to be altruistic and to work together - how is that NOT problematic?
If we are to make the game award selfishness then they need to remove the reliance that exists in the game currently and allow players to be more independent - but this isnt the reality.
Most players won't change their style to raise their MMR. You said before that this MMR incentives the players to just escape, but the thing is, what actually gives you a reward for playing well isn't the MMR, it is the rank system. In theory, the MMR should be a hidden system that allows good matchmaking. You don't get BPs neither cosmetics by raising your MMR, therefore, there is no reason to, unless you are a hardcore player that wants always to go for strong opponents, which I don't think is the case for most players. What gives you rewards however is the rank system, which not only gives you achievements the first time you reach a certain rank, but also gives you BPs at the end of the season. To rank up, you still need to please the point system as always, so for most players, having a MMR won't change their style.
For the reply that you gave me, I would say that I still disagree, for the fact that being altruistic is a choice most of the times. Ofc, you still need teamwork to complete all 5 gens and escape, but if your goal is just escape, you can just wait for hatch if your team is getting dumped or leave as soon as the gates open, even tho someone is on hook. You won't get as many points, but you will raise your MMR, which I think that people who only want escapes don't care about.
-
Well, only 2 killers are viable for a reason.

I love going to Silent Hill. Midwich is almost my home.

It needs to be balanced enough to a point where the match results vary frequently, because that's what makes the game fun, being surprised.
In Friday The 13th The Game jason is absolutely the power role. The problem with this is that counsellor gameplay is just not fun because dying seems inevitable most of the time. So, that's why they made jason a random chance. Because if you could select them, no one would play counsellor.
Speak for yourself. I really feel that counselor is much more fun than being a DbD survivor. First, on Friday, Jason is actually a threat, so you get really immersed on the feeling that you are in a horror movie. Second, the counselors have a lot of ways to escape from the trial, whether it is by going for the police ending, by driving a car or a boat or even killing Jason in itself, so it really felt that your decisions on that game mattered and the experience kept fresh as every game could have different activities and a different outcome. On DbD, you only have to do gens, so survivor gameplay gets really repetitive, and what ends up killing this repetitiveness is the variety of killers in the cast, which nowadays doesn't change much because of MMR. Also, Friday is much more of a individualistic game. Ofc, you have to have some teamwork, but at the end, you are only trying to save yourself and you can easily get betrayed by the others if it is convenient, which I think is a positive point.
-
I disagree. At the end of the day, for the majority of players getting kills/escaping is what really defines a win, therefore, the game should take in mind that these are the objectives that each side pursues. The point system is a mere way to take your attention out of this binary vision, so that survivors get a reason to be altruistic. However, at the end of the day, getting only one kill and a "Ruthless Killer" isn't satisfying, neither is getting sacrificed and getting a good amount of points.
Tbh, I'm on the team that thinks that survivors should play more individualistic, in a way that the whole point based system gets dumped.

You know, the ones that not many people play - but can be surprisingly effective.
I'd say:
- Doctor. Wow, do I love this guy. He has a sonar ping that can get survivors off gens, the ability to disable pallet drops and vaults (that works maybe half the time even on a 50ms latency, but that's another story) and some genuinely nutty addons. Insanely oppressive in indoor, 'stacked' maps. Also somehow a BP generating machine.
- Hag. She's by far my favorite killer. Small, little terror radius, can absolutely lock down areas and has tons of little tricks and techs. If you can get a 3 or 4 gen, she can be unstoppable. Plus, she's a living jumpscare, which makes me happy.
Yeah, Doctor is really underrated. The man has tracking + antiloop + slowdown. His kit is really complete. Definitely A tier killer IMO.
I wouldn't say that Hag is underrated since she people already recognize how strong she is. The one I would put as underrated is Plague. She is easily the best projectile and possibly snowballing killer in game, maybe only losing to Twins and Nurse on that aspect.
-
Well, he really feels like Freddy, in a way that he has really good 4v1 but a mediocre 1v1. The thing is, 4v1 is far more important than 1v1, so by rule, Pinhead ends up being better than most of the cast. He is still not viable, because only Nurse and Blight are, but he is definitely not terrible.
-
I never main killer that I didn't like before. However, I did get some respect for them after playing them for a while. They did not become my mains, but I started enjoying Blight and Deathslinger much more after I gave them a chance.
-
Maybe? I don't think that the effects are as strong as something as Devour Hope. However, the thing that bothers me is the fact that survivors can just keep blessing the same totem multiple times, which is busted and completely kills the the purpose of totems in the first place, which is to be a high risk high reward mechanic, with no strategy behind it at all. So for that reason, I think that boons are actually pretty busted.
With that being said, I think that this whole thing of being able to bless the same totem multiple times was just overlooked by the devs and won't actually come live because it is just stupid.

I'm simply asking. I don't consider trickster to be my favorite, but I don't like how the community undervalues his lore and design. Like imagine trying to implement something kpop related in a horror-based game and do a somewhat decent job at it too.
Being difficult is not an excuse for it to be half-assed. Trickster is just a K-Pop star with blood on it. Many times BHVR has managed to pick something unusual and deliver good results. Plague and Twins represent that very well.

Your not facing good squads or even SWFS all the time so why does it matter?
Because it is not a good thing to play a game knowing that it doesn't matter if you are good or not because the other side has control over the outcome and your actions doesn't matter.
When you play a game, you want to have chance of winning every game, which is different from winning every game.

Except MOST killers don't do that.
So why not show if the group is a SWF?

How about you try and make a K-Pop related killer then. If DBD's is so bland.
They asked which killer has the most boring design and I simply answered. No need to make a fuss if someone doesn't like your favourite killer lol.

What’s funny is now with sbmm you don’t have to worry about competing at the top because your mmr on your other killers won’t get as high as spirit nurse blight.
Yes, but it is nice to have a *chance* to win as any killer on any match, because that's how it is supposed to work. What's the fun in learning a new killer if you will eventually hit a wall because the only viable killers are Nurse and Blight?
-
I mean, I just play normally when a survivor dies early. Maybe because there is one less person on the trial that it makes it feel like we are try harding, since we are on the advantage. I won't play nice with survivors because I doubt that they would play nice with me if I was lagging real hard.
And also: You can't use non meta perks as killers as well. Just try playing without gen defense and see 4 gens getting done in 4 minutes.
-
Considering that Legion would be the 4 of them, I would say Trickster. He doesn't seem smart nor strong and I'm not scared of plastic neon knives so I'm going with him for a trial.
-
Complete rework Freddy style.

No, even when you have irrefutable data, people still argue with their feelings. Trust me.
Yes, but as a community we could reach more reasonable decisions instead of, you know, "NeRf SpIrEh".
-
I feel like BHVR should be more transparent with their data. On LoL for example, you can always see the results of your last matches and third party sites always show each character and person's win rate all the time. I feel like half of DbD discussions would be over if we could always have updated data.

heyyy... I like flicking on survivors when they try to hide behind snow piles or try to use certain cars that have no collision as shields as well.
his power is less predictable for sure but when you begin to pick out the objects that don't have collision you can really surprise some survivors with some plays.
It seems more like an exploit for me than an actual mechanic, whether you use it as an advantage or disadvantage. I doubt that the devs would look at those stupid slides and tell them that they are working as intended.
It's like the same problem I have with Huntress, but for a lesser extent, since you have to memorize every object to know if your hatchets will go through.
-
The problem with Blight is the collision with some objects. Ormond for example is atrocious for him since he just slides on every snow pile.
Other than that, he is fine.

Why nerf SWF because one killer is being rebalanced? Not all killers are Spirit players vs SWF teams. Seems like a kneejerk reaction to some much-needed changes.
Maybe because it was one of the only three killers who were viable against a good squad.

A good way to know which games i can evade I dont mind if swf or not i just wanna have fun
I mean, if most killers prefer to infinitely dodge lobbies and spend 30 minutes in a queue instead of going against SWF then I guess it is an indicator that there is a problem with that on the first place.
-
Trickster. I would be fine would a celebrity K-Pop killer but they just went to make it the most bland way possible.
-
I think the healing bonus to the obsession should be removed. The penalty it gives the survivors is not even that strong to have a drawback in the first place.
-
@GeneralV said:
Already reached the limit.
Stay strong my Nerfreddy main.
-
If Ruin and Pop got nerfed and the DS changes got reverted.
-
Make a killer that's all about being an unpredictable ghost and then give her the most accessible counterplay. Yep, that's BHVR.
-
Killers: None
Survivors: BNP
-
So we got Nerfilly. Then we got Nerfreddy. Now we have Nerfin Yamaoka. I wonder who will be the next member of this family.
-
"We see that Spirit is still over performing against new survivors, for that reason we are bringing some changes to her. Each 2 minutes the magic that keeps her body together will cease and the Spirit will fall into the ground motionless. We hope that this change will make her more fun to play against."
-
Unplayable. Even if you bring 4 meta perks yourself, gens can be done before you can even spell out "pressure". It has always been like that but now it happens 8 out of 10 games.
-
Omg, the game is survivor sided and all 5 gens can be done before 5 minutes what a surprise. I literally have never seen this before :O
I'm actually happy that MMR got into the game since now everyone can see how things really are and will stop with the "just apply pressure" because as every person with a little bit of awareness always knew, killer is unplayable on high level.
-
Impossible skill checks Blight.
Perks:
-Unnerving Presence
-Overcharge
-Oppression
-Huntress Lullaby
Add-ons:
-Soul Chemical
-Blighted Crow

Finally, my time has come. I knew MandyTalk would have to sleep eventually.
That's good. It would be just a slap on the player's face if Demo and the other survivors turned into a buggy and unbalanced mess over time.

I felt really uncomfortable watching this video. That's one of the reasons the moderation feels like it doesn't work, as these delusional pricks report people just because the other party didn't please them.

I already got shamed for using Rancor when I was getting my Adept Spirit.

yes to the 3rd one.
I hope that helps, I will keep trying to get more information as it becomes available.
Will they be able to make balance updates and bugfixes on Demo?
-
I mean, you could have asked the killer to hook and then killed yourself. You would still gain some points and would not get the DC penalty...
-
Because who cares about balance right?
-
Honestly, I don't care much about Hellraiser. Don't take me wrong, it is still cool that we are getting Pinhead as a killer, but I get that "meh" feeling about it. It is one of those cases in which I am more excited about the in-game mechanics than the "OMG, IT IS THAT KILLER".
-
I would make a map based on Rapture from Bioshock. A gorgeous yet creepy map. I have always wanted a deep sea map, and I think that a underwater city would be perfect.
