The only mistake they made on this patch.
-
Off the Record
-
Assuming that it would be only one Legion member and I could pick one (Susie seems the better option).
If I can't pick one maybe Trickster would be a better choice.
Ghostie is a pro-murderer, so I prefer to skip him.
-
Although a killer with insect powers would please me a lot, I just like Child's Play as a movie much more.
-
First, I would make him 115% movement speed.
Second, instead of his laceration meter going down by itself, I would make the survivors perform an action to remove his blades manually. This would give him some 4v1 and a reason to go for snipe shots.
Third, I would make Trick Blades basekit, since it would give him more personality than just being a Huntress that spams blades.

Oh I'm well aware that its still going to be used every game. But it now makes it weaker on killers that already have a good early game, and basically doesn't affect killers with a weaker early game.
And no, for the final time. Ruin was not gutted.
Do you know how much time hitting a great skillcheck saved? 0.025 seconds, and nowadays its 0.0125. It really was just a noob stomper perk which worked very well considering how garbage ranks were.
Old Undying paired with Ruin was just a nightmare for Solo Q and barely affected SWF considering they could just cleanse both totems at the same time and guarantee the Undying.
And oh no! A perk finally becoming inline with other perks after almost 6 years! What a tragedy!
Yes, Ruin was gutted. Not once, not twice, three times. SWFs could only counter Ruin + Undying so much, since if Ruin was cleansed first, it would just switch to another totem and since you had no way of knowing which was Ruin and which was Undying this effect could happen a certain amount of times. In the worst-case scenario, survivors would have to cleanse two totems, which is now the default number of times a survivor always have to cleanse totems to get rid of an already underwhelming perk.
And no, Ruin is not becoming in line with other perks, it is getting absolutely thrashed. 1/4 of a solo survivor's speed on regression on a perk that can get cleansed and gets removed when someone is dead. No man, this is worse than Dying Light.

As for Corrupt, Itll definitely be a strong perk still but at least now the difference in strength between a high tier killer using it and a lower tier killer isnt astronomical.
OG Ruin was simply a noob stomper, it was FAR from gutted. its objectively better now since no matter the skill of the Survivors, youre going to get use out of it.
It was never about difference of strength between perks being used. Corrupt is still gonna be used almost every game because it does something that no other perk does.
And yes, Ruin was gutted. Even against a survivor who hits great skill checks all the time (which was incredibly rare) ruin did its job by not giving the progression bonus normal great skillchecks do. This new Ruin is garbage by itself for the simple fact that it is gone before the midgame (where it is at its strongest). Old Undying used to make new Ruin decent, but it was gutted as well and now they nerf Ruin for the third time finally putting the nail in the coffin.

You my friend are rhe perfect example as to why Corrupt was nerfed
Because now, its no longer an obvious choice! There are actually other viable options!
Not really, I still see Corrupt being essential on almost every build because Corrupt does something that no other gen slowdown does: Prevents gens from being done quickly at the start of the game. When the match starts, the killer is in his most weak position, where he has no survivor injured or hooked, so to get pressure on (find the survivors, chase them and down them) and make use of the best slowdown perks, it takes a while. Depending on how bad the map you got is and how good the survivors are this process may take a while, meaning that every other survivor is just happy doing gens which may lead you to an uncomfortable position where by the time you get the first hook, three gens might have already been done.
That is why an early game slowdown is essential. OG Ruin used to do that, but they gutted it and now there is only Corrupt. For that reason, Corrupt will probably still be used on every build because it is the only perk in the game that meets such a great demand.

which one is that? i do remember its like his best add on at least before his "rework" but what does it do again?
Increases the amount of slowdown a survivor gets. It makes Clown a much better killer without changing his base mechanics (like Pinky Finger and Cigar Box does).
-
I am going for Wraith, if I like his romance I am also dating Trapper.
I wish I could date Doctor, Frank/Joey, Oni, Hillbilly, Deathslinger, and Trickster instead of Trapper though.
-
The main purpose of Corrupt is to prevent gens from being done while you still don't have means to get the ball rolling. Once you down a survivor you have a way to start applying pressure on the map, therefore, Corrupt's job is done.
Although I do agree that the nerf was unnecessary, I doubt that the nerf will drop it's usage.
-
I swear that if I get another Huntress daily, I am gonna freak out.
-
Speaking of Clown, can we make Flask of Bleach basekit?
-
Hooks being gone forever after a survivor is killed. It is a feature that doesn't make sense and forces you to let the survivor bleed out in some scenarios.
Also, Eruption and Call of Brine should make the generator white instead of yellow since they basically make Surveillance and Discordance useless.

Or, don't touch the nurse, and up the other killers very slightly 😉
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3063660#Comment_3063660
Or maybe some people just like to play it ... it's amazing how far we go in terms of selfishness ...
Slightly won't make the cut for killers like Trickster and Myers. It may be enough for Blight, Artist, and Dredge but everything under the A tier needs much more than slight buffs.
-
I don't think it would be good to nerf Nurse nowadays. I think the game needs to go through massive changes before the only viable killer gets nerfed. SWF, bad map design, gen speeds, and broken survivor perks must be addressed first to make every (or at least most of) killer viable at the highest level.
I do agree that Nurse is levels above every other killer for her ability to ignore basic functions of the game, but it is just that killers, in general, are weak. When the game finally becomes balanced, I would pretty much be happy with a Nurse nerf as I do think that her ability is quite unhealthy for the game. For the nerf, you could either make her Matchbox add-on or her Torn Bookmark add-on (the original one, where you were unable to blink through solid objects) basekit.
-
She just got rid of her reliance on Dried Cherry Blossom, but she is still reliant on Mother Daughter Ring to have the unpredictability she had before.
-
I still haven't completed the first one since it forces you to play Trapper and the challenges pretty much require survivors to mess up.
-
Cigar Box is a really solid add-on. However, I wouldn't bother using Solvent Jug as I would probably prefer Flask of Bleach.
-
Apparently, now predicting when a survivor is going to save and returning to the hook to prevent it is also toxic.
-
I am expecting to see OTR on 4 survivors every game. Also, I predict that CoH and Prove Thyself will also be on every game.
The exhaustion perk will start to change though. While we will still see Dead Hard, It won't be nearly as common. I see Sprint Burst, Lithe and Overcome having a lot more usage.
-
Killer is more challenging, more dynamic and has more variety. Just more fun in general.

Um? You chain them you hit them or let the chain break. You hit them no endurance tank hits simple.
“I don’t see how deathslinger counters this mess” 🤡
I don’t usually do that but in this case that emoji perfectly explains this thread
It is still not a particular counter that Deathslinger can perform. It is the same as taking the hit as every other killer. Lmao
This is literally just taking the hit.

Good news is, as a Twins main you can keep on slugging and camping. That's the incentive we've seen killers given in the past year or so. Tbh i will give this update a try as killer again. I haven't played killer in months b/c as an average skill killer i can't compete with the higher mmr survivors i get matched up with plus i don't want to tunnel or camp. If things aren't different after the update, i'll probably just resort to tunnel/camp/slug when i play killer again. it is what it is.
Yeah and now Twins will become more reliant on slugging and camping than ever since the can't afford to deal with OTR. Imagine having to deal with 80 seconds of god mode and if you hit them as Victor you will get kicked. With BT it was manageable since you could just wait 12 seconds but you can have that luxury with 80 seconds.
-
@Chilli_man2400 said:
ok. Let’s break down why your argument is wrong. Ahem
- OTR just received a nerf today where it will no longer activate in the endgame so no more last minute bodyblocks it’s not going to be so overpowered
- Endurance doesn’t work if you have deep wound. This will make legion, slinger and pinhead with original pain addon very strong now cause they can trump endurance now.
That’s pretty much it but don’t make up random bullshit where we see right here the perk is strong but it won’t be as powerful as it was in the ptb. Don’t make up bullshit that’s not true
Yeah and it doesn't address the free second chance survivors get throughout the whole game. Getting hit by DS once perk match is manageable, but if every survivor is using DS and you get hit by all of them you will get absolutely destroyed. The thing is, avoiding DS is possible since you can just slug the survivor using the DS aggressively.
Now good luck trying to avoid a survivor bodyblocking you in Midwich's doorways while trying to protect another survivor. Now consider that you can activate OTR on both unhooks and you got a problem since you're getting 8 (2 second chances x 4 survivors) OTR hits per game.
BT was already considered one of the best perks in the game for giving survivors a window of invulnerability. Now they just make the same perk but on steroids.
Also, I don't see how Deathslinger counters this mess.

They actively nerfed Off the Record and Endurance.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3056563#Comment_3056563
Yes, it was posted above. Overcharge now starts at 75% regression and caps at 200% regression after 30 seconds.
Yeah and it is still broken af. 80 seconds of endurance + the old effects of OTR is ridiculous. This will completely break the game and make the game unplayable for a few weeks until they fix it. This perk is BT (which was already one of the best perks in the game) on steroids and has no right to be in the game.
-
Thanks, I just read it and oh my gosh.
They nerfed Overcharge into the ground and refused to acknowledge how broken Off the Record is.
Just wonderful 🤡🤡🤡
-
Where can I read the developer update?
-
The only gen slowdown perks that have been hit hard were Ruin, Pop and Dead Man's Switch. The rest is pretty much the same if not better.
My loadout for most games from now on will be Corrupt, Call of Brine, Overcharge and Franklin's.
-
I really like the idea. I think that something like The Imp would be really cool. It's just sad that BHVR won't release something like that.
-
The only thing that really bothers me is OTR. Other than that the update seems good.
-
Out of the hit & run killers Sadako is probably the most competent of them. The problem is that the playstyle has been power creeped out of existence due to insane healing speeds and CoH.
-
Tombstone, perma tier 3 and Scratched Mirror.
Myers is the worst killer in the game and is outclassed by literally everything, but his add-ons are fun.
-
Once killers get buffed to the point where everyone is viable (maybe in 2026) I will be happy with Nurse.
As for the nerf, just make one of her iri add-ons basekit. There you go, Nurse nerfed.
-
Hawkins was one of the best maps they ever created. Then Netflix killed it and left us with farm maps, Suffocation Pit and Gas Haven, just wonderful.
-
Hitting a bodyblocker with Forced Penance and hitting someone right after coming out of phase as Spirit.
-
Deathslinger needs new add-ons so badly and Ghostface too. Both killers had some add-ons changed but most of their add-ons are still the worst in the game.
Pyramid's add-ons are decent from brown to green (except for the killer instinct ones). The purple and iri add-ons need some help though.
Freddy once had good add-ons... Before they gutted his best ones. Just revert the nerf, please.
Bubba's add-ons are also worthless, with the exception of the speed add-ons, the chillis and iri flesh.
Nurse has the range add-ons and some others that give her small buffs. The rest is pretty thrash, especially the red ones.
Spirit's green add-ons were decent before they changed it forbad gimmick ones. Just revert the nerf.
Not to mention killers whose majority of add-ons are decent, but have a portion that makes no sense. Hag with her trap activation range add-ons and Pinhead with the add-ons that give more range to his chains.
The rest of the cast have okayish add-ons.
-
I wouldn't hate the portrait filters if it wasn't the legacy reward. My problem with it is that it looks sooooo ugly if you don't have all characters with the filter. So if you are like me who does not have all characters on P3, you will forever be stuck with the filter on some and normal portrait on others, which is horrible.
-
@Sadako_Best_Girl said:
By the way lmao imagine crying so hard over a clown with no add-ons and no slowdown perks while going full meta yourself, twitch streamers are something else.
I guess it is for the Franklin's. Survivors really hate that perk.
-
I have no idea how you can see how much time you have on each role, but I think that for me it would be similar. If you see my steam achievements you can see that I have almost every killer achievement and only 2 survivor achievements.
-
Endgame collapse was never supposed to pressure survivors on the end game, and you can notice it by how big the timer is. The purpose of endgame collapse is to avoid survivors taking the game hostage, nothing more, nothing less.
Sure, you can weaponize the endgame collapse by using Blood Warden, but that's still just a gimmick.

I mean, they improve but not enough to consider those addons strong per se.
if u think nurse’s range addons for instance they dramatically increase her map pressure, and chase potential which are already huge. Blight, his alchemist’s ring allow for constant momentum which can be lacking against good survs.
Now if u think Myers’ iri addons, his weaknesses remain untouched, no infinite tier 3 will change that, he is still “loopable”, still has the same laughable map pressure and by the time he reaches tier 3 at least 3 gens will have popped. They change ghe gameplay but essentially don’t help with anything really.
yeah pinhead is frustrating lol love him but its true
When I talk about strong add-ons, I normally mean add-ons that make the killer almost unrecognizable but also much better. Myers is the worst killer in the game, but tombstone and infinite tier 3 make him so much better. Meanwhile, Nurse is already strong by herself and by using her range add-ons she becomes better but base Nurse is still strong.

with the most recent IW nerf u cant say that about Spirit anymore.
Also, trapper? Wraith? PIG???? MYERS?? not even with his best addons trapper is a decent pick, Myers addons are “Fun”, but not strong his scratched mirror is completely dependent on map, his iri addons can be completely negated by genrush and good loops. PIG even with her purple top notch addons, is still 1000% dependent on RNG. Sadako is same as Myers: fun, but not strong.
pinhead I agree when u say his addons are strong but not when u insinuate he is weak lol. Also Nurse’s best addons are geen and yellow which make her even stronger.
Her dependence on Cherry Blossom? Okay fair enough, but she still needs Mother Daughter to be unpredictable as she was before the nerf.
I didn't say that the killers were strong, I said that the add-ons are strong in a way that they improve the killer's gameplay by a lot. They are still weak, but certainly improved.
Edit: I don't think Pinhead is weak. He is B tier IMO, just extremely frustrating to play.
-
I disagree. Only omega blink Nurse can be considered overly strong. Spirit is only viable with Mother Daughter + Cherry Blossom which kinda compensate for her nerf. Blight is the only one who has a variety of add-ons that make him very strong since he has Blighted Crow, Alchemist Ring and both of his iris are good.
Meanwhile other less strong killers have much better add-ons, such as Myers, Clown, Pig, Wraith, Trapper, Sadako, Pinhead and so on. They may not be strong but they have much better add-ons than Nurse for example.
-
Out of the information perks, I would say that Nurse's is a really good perk and it is on a comfortable spot right now. The problem is that it's main users were hit and run killers, and since they are weak right now (mainly because of insane heal speed and CoH) the perk has dropped in usage. However, it is still a really good perk nonetheless.

@CosmicParagon said:
Easy solution: Make SWF its own queue. Then Killers that don't want to deal with SWF can actually enjoy the game, and SWF goes up against more skilled Killers that want to test themselves.
I doubt that any killer would ever put themselves in such disadvantage considering a good SWF is basically unbeatable unless you're playing Nurse.
My suggestion would be giving a action speed debuff to SWF groups. They will never be on the same level as a solo, therefore BHVR should start treating different things as different.
-
I was about to make an huge answer for that guy regarding how wrong he was and how IW essentially makes Spirit unplayable but you pretty much gave the best answer with one word. Well done.
-
I also really like Sadako for some reason. My guess is that she is really easy to play, in a way that you don't need to much concentration to learn her, while also having some room for doing some really fun plays. Wraith plays like Sadako in a way that they are both very simple, but while Sadako can do some really satisfying plays by teleporting and surprising survivors, Wraith doesn't do that. Also, even though she almost never gets her condemned kill, it is something to look forward to and get excited when it happens since it is so rare.

I would think that the Entity is powered by all sorts of emotion. This is just another source of power.
POWER OF LOVE....
Maybe it is an AU universe where The Entity only feeds on love and instead of holding killing trials it holds dating reality shows between the killers and survivors.
The Entity does that because it can get the most emotion out of killers who are learning to love and survivors who need to learn how to love despite of appearances (you know, since most killers are ugly and scary looking).

@noctis129 said:
This depends on how often a survivor is expected to escape.
I escape over half my matches. I should only be escaping about 20% of the time.
There is a misconception that killers are toxic. Ive played killer consistently before but I am survivor main.
Survivors are the real toxic players hiding in sheep's clothing making accusations that killers are toxic.
It is also a myth that there are equal number of toxicity from both survivor and killer.
U take 100 killers and 100 survivors, it's the survivors that will be more toxic. It's just how the game is. I like to bully the killer myself and trash talk the killer to Oblivion. Why? Cuz it's fun.
Killers at least try to follow the rulebook made by survivors. Many killers refuse to camp, tunnel, mori, or even use NOED and such.
With survivors, there's no such thing. They have no rulebook and thus, have no Honor, but they got the biggest mouth. And the game caters to them.
Killers are the real victims. Survivors are the real bullies This is why ppl don't want to play killer.
TBF, survivors are to be toxic and it is expect for a single reason: They are the team role. IRL, you feel much more validated to be an toxic bully if you have friends to back it up because even if you are being an ######### they are still your friend and they are gonna defend you even if you are wrong.
On the other hand, killer is the solo role, so of they play toxic there are 4 people to call them out for being toxic. Not only that, but being a target of a bully squad feels terrible because it's 4 people ganging up on you. I imagine that if there were a 2v6 mode, killer would feel much less stressful because you would have a friend to back you up if a squad tries to bully you.
