BHVR isnt going to comment on why they have not released more cosmetics as they never coment on licenses legal stuff.
Whats known is license holders must aprove any new cosmetics for them to be released and hearsay say Halloween and Elm Street license holders are the toughest to work with of all the holders so maybe the reason is on their end and not BHVRs.
a reason why we haven't gotten Laurie's and Quentin's christmas sweaters yet

Me personally I don't consider it keeping the game hostage. If they complete 3 gens on one side instead of zig zagging then it's on them.
Yeah but a killer can choose to camp the 3 gen on one side of the map and never leave. it's not always the survivor's fault, it's a game design flaw at best. RNG plays a big factor in how close gens spawn together.
-
They really need to buff the distance to use it, because a bubba can just block you in the basement and it doesn't work from above so there's nothing you can do about it. I'd say buff it to 10 meters because 6 is way too short

A disappointment that Blighted Wesker doesn't have this as his cosmetic

but you weren't in a lose/lose situation, you just had to wake up to remove effectiveness of add-on's and his snares. freddy has no power in when your not in dream world like his lore suggests. his add-on did slowdown generator at higher-level play, that is why it got nerfed/removed like every other killer change. Its just that people exaggerated its strength like it always is for killer.
if it was exaggerated then why did he was the most picked across all skill-levels and had the highest kill rates?

I don't want to sound rude, but this looks like the most boring mid chapter ever. At least the last small mid chapter changed few addons, this is just like two things. (I don't count the prestige catch up mechanic as something new or I don't even care about it honestly).
what's going on with flashlight saves? they're not messing them up are they?

Spirit I feel has some outdated visuals as well. Her Hair I feel has gotten worse over the years and I liked how transparent and ghostly it look when she was first released, now it looks too trollish. and then her face needs some more textures.

Yes, I completely agree on all 3 points. I never anywhere said that hag is easy to counter, but here's a thing.
I could tell by their account lvl (at least one of them), that they were playing this game for a really long time, much longer than me, and if the matchmaking system matches them with me (I've had a lot of 3-4k for a long time with Hag), that means that these guys have escaped a lot of matches. Which is also means, that they're good. I also looked up for their previous matches just to see how they loop a killer and etc... They're playing for wins clearly. They're "sweating".
What am I trying to say... Guys, if you want to win in your games, you have to use a counter tactic against each killer you're facing. If you're good against Oni, it doesn't mean that the same tactic will be good against hag. Besides, you know how to play against her, why you got tilted and silently throw a match after first hook?
Yes I know, hag is rare. So thats probably why they got comfy against certain killers and probably got rusty against a hag...
Also, you don't really need a flashlight against hag, you can trigger trap and instantly change your direction to prevent a hit. Only if you expect the trap in that place...
with the last part, scrollwheel hags exists.

What about Feng Min's face now. Chinless.
Oh yes I was very upset when they changed Feng's face. It took me a while to tolerate it especially since different hairstyles made it a bit better, because they made her jaw wide for some reason which made her a bit masculine, and then her lips weren't as plump as before. I would even argue that her default hair is a lot worse now, I just don't like how they emphasize on her bangs. Short bob hair with straight bangs can be cute, but not in the way bhvr made them. I really miss Feng's old model the most since she's one of my mains.

It's odd. I can tell you for certain there's something wrong with it from my vague memories of that cosmetic but for the life of you can't tell you what it is
I don't like the way the new version of the hair sticks out, like a swoop a lot of skater guys would have with their hair. This old version is more pixie style and kinda reminds me of Tracer from Overwatch.

I am a Japanese playing in the Asian region, so I don't know the reasons for Asia as a whole, but I am trying to figure out why the use of self-care is so high in Japan.
For several years now, many people have increased their time at home due to covid... In other words, time spent playing games has increased.
Around that time, a Japanese entertainer named EIKO started streaming DbD on youtube.
Perhaps these two factors meshed together. As a result, many people in Japan started buying and playing DbD (probably on PS4 rather than steam).
Here are some thoughts on which survivor Japanese beginners should choose.
Who would you recommend as a survivor? Search for it.
Japanese DbD beginner wikipedia recommends Morel. One of the reasons is that she has a PERK that can self-medicate. Needless to say, Mikaela is hard to recommend for beginners because of DLC.
This has led to (1) many new players in Japan. 2) they start playing with Morel who can use self-care.
For these reasons, the use of self-care is probably high.
I cannot say for sure, but it is possible that not everyone is an intermediate or advanced player or a veteran. Taken as a whole, the numbers may seem strange. I am sure you felt that when you looked at the data for this 61% kill rate and the 50% or less kill rate for nurses.
sry my poor english
No worries!! your English is good! It makes sense since self-care is a free perk and the idea of healing yourself without a medkit or relying on your teammates is great since it's self sufficient.
Here in the West, Self-Care is a very controversial perk (even before the hard nerf) because a lot of inexperienced players will always heal themselves every time they get hit instead of using that time on a gen. Plus Medkit's are one of the strongest items rn, so with the right add-ons and even perks, it'll be enough to last you all game.

While regional data is cool and all, I do feel it it important to share global stats considering we do not balance differently per region. Self-Care is a great example of this; while it's not as popular here, it's still very popular elsewhere. This is important context to know if we ever change a perk like Self-Care. It's not a total shot in the dark, your experiences just may not line up with the rest of the world.
yeah that makes sense

It wouldn't make Hyperfocus useless, there are people who can hit Great skill checks with enough consistency to make it worth using for them.
I'm saying that it would make stake out useless since no one would have a reason to use that perk now.
-
This is exactly why reassurance needs a buff
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3189595#Comment_3189595
That’s one possible change, the other is not have Stakeout count as Great checks for purposes of Hyperfocus.
I disagree with the last bit, because stake out by itself is not worth it, and it's nice to have new perk combos. taking that away would just make the perk essentially useless, and we're always talking about perk diversity.
-
@TheArbiter said:
Evidently it's only popular in non-english speaking regions which I find very weird
I think the devs needs to do regional data instead of combining it all into one data, because it's not accurate. Different regions have different metas, so they should just go by regional stats.
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3189398#Comment_3189398
Yeah I would be surprised if the devs are keeping a close eye on the Hyperfocus plus Stakeout combo. There’s a lot of buzz about it maybe being overpowered.
I just think the easiest nerf that would not kill this perk would be to just not have it work with toolboxes. that's it

tell me how to make her strong, make a post or something if you havent already.
I looove her to death, and figured if I was a previous Wraith main I'd be good. But I have the worst games with her :(

It's frustrating because it requires you to bring an item to counter her power which doesn't matter if she has franklins, so constantly crouch walking around in any situation is an annoyance, because they may or may not have the add-ons that allow them to teleport across the map. There's nothing fun going against that. (back then, Urban would've been the best thing to ever bring)
I even remember going against a Hag that had the add-on to teleport across the map and she was on the other side of the map when I went to painfully slowly crouch walk in the basement to get the save. By the time I rescued and made it to the top of the stairs is when she was able to to make it back, and she had franklins so our flashlights didn't matter. it was so miserable.
Also the other problem, because Hag sucks at chasing, she has to choose a three gen and basically set camp and play around it which isn't fun for the other side. And a lot of killers likes to be able to chase and aren't fond of Hag's play style.
Obviously these survivor's you were playing against were being pretty comp with the map offering and toolboxes, but I'm saying in general, these are the reasons why Hag is irritating to play against. Hag has franklin's to counter flashlights, and has built-in camping and can camp while being on the other side of the map (with certain add-ons), Also the bs rusty shackles add-on. Overall killers that have built in camping, slugging, etc. is just not fun to go against. Also some ppl just don't like going against trapped based killers.

I did this also, yes in fact it does work for both. You HAVE to be standing still for it to activate at all times, it does work for healing too. No running or walking.
ah I gotcha, thanks!
-
Dude it happened to me too, unbelievable

@Spirit_IsTheBest said:
I tested this perk out with a few friends, it turns out it only worked for me when I was standing still. I tested it when running, walking, etc. But it didn't activate when doing so, until I ONLY stood still, is when the perk worked.
So if anybody is willing to run this perk, just know it only activates when standing still. Not sure if this is its intended future or a bug, but we will have to wait for some feedback.
Question, does it also working while you heal or before you heal, or both?
-
Since kicking gen perks have made their way, Bring Blast Mine. I know it's in a gutter rn because of the nerf, but since it's not alerted to killers, it should help.
-
Mine is Sole Survivor, Lightweight, Left behind and Low Profile on Ada since she's somewhat quiet. In case I'm the last one alive and the killer already found Hatch, the opening speed would be great. I also got aura blocking value before from a Wesker using I'm all Ears and then he lost me because of Lightweight.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/345805/both-blast-mine-and-wiretap-need-buffs
Wiretap is fine, the last thing we need is wall hacks every gen a killer goes near.
Blastmine honestly is annoying since there is 0 counter to it and no indication of it. Either kick the gen halfway to get blinded and waste time or leave the gen to not be able to regress.
well same with eruption. solo q has no indication of when their teammate goes down and the perk triggers.
-
Wanna hear something funny? the survivor challenge is to use self-care only by itself, and then escape a trial.
-
Use Reactive Healing, Bite the Bullet, Streetwise or Desperate Measures, Bond and bring a Juicy medkit with two charge add-ons or one charge and one fast healing add-on.
This one I found to be beneficial when solo games aren't going so great; Sole Survivor, Low Profile, Lightweight, and Left Behind.
And then this one is purely meme, Eyes Build; Inner Focus, Counterforce, Rookie Spirit, Wake Up or Windows of Opportunity.
-
I personally find it useful if the survivor has sprint burst, lithe, or balanced. It's better I think to be able to catch up to them in seconds that way their distance they made meant nothing and to chase them easier so you don't spend all that time catching up to them and then looping for a long time. Any time the killer can save to catch up to them is really beneficial.

I've tested it before and I'm pretty sure it does work. You just can't already have a medkit in your hand before rummaging through an empty chest, else it won't work for some reason. It also doesn't work if your previous medkit still has charges on it.
that seems oddly specific. I'll test it out myself and see if anything changes.

But if it activates together, you never get the blast mine off because the killer can't kick it, right?
How it's supposed to work is that blast mine takes 3 seconds to activate, and repressed takes 1 second. When you wait 3 seconds, blast mine is supposed to take priority and activate it for the killer to kick, after the killer is stunned by it, then you you go up and used repressed to block the gen. But it's bugged where it's working together when it's not supposed to. So it ends up blocking the gen and using blast mine at the same time I think.

A reason why Ace is becoming one of my new mains. If I'm gonna go for stealth plays, I'll be playing him. When I used no mither on Ace, you could barely hear him, so he will definitely benefit from new iron. And running no exhaustion perks I'm okay with if I want him to be very quiet at all times.
