  • Hate to break it to you - they are happy with band-aids in the form of perks. Because it's easier than addressing the actual issues. Also, it keeps people buying DLC for the latest band-aids. Some things will just never change.

  • Apparently they forgot about it. Whatever, Dailies are worth jack anyway.

  • Buff hopefully. Otherwise I don't ever plan to play her.

  • AlwaysHasBeen.jpg

  • I'm still on this challenge as well. It's really down to luck and a matter of time. Just keep playing and you'll get it eventually.

they can't do that without breaking the character lmao. and they already said there's nothing wrong with facecamp

Then they are wrong. Face-camping is against the spirit of the game, in my opinion.

  • Shout out to @Mister_Holdout, one of my earliest interactions on these forums.

And of course Sluzzy. Who could forget Sluzzy?

  • So just flat buffs across the board. They need to address his face-camping potential before buffing Bubba imo.

  • Not only does it censor the wrong things, but actual profanity slips through occasionally anyway. I wish they never implemented a filter at all, or at least give us an option to turn it off.

  • No love for Spine Chill in this thread? I personally run it every game. Not only does it counter all stealth Killers and perks, it's even great in chases to tell if the Killer is mind-gaming when you can't see them. Not to mention it's strong on indoor maps since it makes up for all the walls blocking line-of-sight.

  • Because you have no power until you get a hit. Luckily that's usually not too hard to achieve, but good teams know to pre-drop pallets and prevent you from drawing blood as long as possible. Why deal with that when you can play Blight and zoom around from the very start?

  • I won't defend the layout, but I gotta admit this map has grown on me since release. It just looks really, really good.

Side note: Why does everyone say RPD? It's Raccoon City Police Department, so it's actually RCPD.

  • It's the nature of team-based games. Team-killing and trolling have been a problem in games forever. Can't fix human nature.

  • Plague is fine. I would be down for 115% Deathslinger I guess. They could at least test it in a PTB.

But they cleansed more before Boons than now. Before Boons NoED activated roughly 4 or 5 times out of 10 games played while now it's activated at almost 100% rate. That's why I'll always break totems no matter what.

Pre-cleansing has never been a smart move imo. You are spending precious time off gens to counter a perk that might not even be in play. The smart play has always been to simply note totem spawns throughout the game so you can easily locate and cleanse NOED after it pops.

Let's also note that Boon-ed totems cannot turn into NOED anyway. A Boon totem is just as good as a cleansed one when the last gen pops.

  • Most Survivors didn't cleanse before Boons anyway. It's where the whole "Do bones." meme comes from, because they wouldn't cleanse and then would complain about NOED.

Anyone remember a few years back, they added in showing other survivors each other's prestige and level? It quickly and quietly (no pun intended) disappeared.. I wonder about that.

Yeah! It was a pretty nifty feature, and I was sad when it disappeared without any comment or patch notes or anything. I liked showing off my Survivors. Although to be fair, it probably encouraged dodging. My teammate is playing a low-level character? Dodge. Same reason why we can't see grades or perks in lobby. It's unfortunate.

  • It entirely depends on the map. If there's lots of high walls, you're gonna have a bad time. I do find his throwing knives fun when they work, but as you said, many tiles are unfavorable to Trickster by design.

Do other gens? like OP stated, it tends to encourage working on multiple gens at once, since it doesn't actually provide regression (and even prevents pop) spreading pressure effectively counterplays it quite well.

Also since people seem to have a lot of trouble with this, the artist needs to move away from the hook to fire her crows, so at best she can proxy camp with it (which can still make room for a smart save) AND her crows need to follow along with terrain (there are many gens she legitimately cannot hit with her power due to elevation differences.) Lastly, if the PR combo is bothering you, learn to let go of the gen before the hook goes off: only time it'll block is if someone else getting hooked activated DMS within the past ~45 seconds (which means a good chunk of its duration already expired anyway, since it doesnt reset with each hook.)

I say this a lot lately I feel, but a exceedingly large amount of people's problems with things on killer side come from people not understanding how they work. Play the killer and get stomped a few times, and you'll learn a lot of counters for them.

Ok so I let go of the gen before the hook. The gen still explodes and begins regressing. Now I'm forced to A) let it regress or B) touch it and get it blocked by DMS because the Killer is surely coming to check the gen that just exploded. It's a lose-lose for the Survivor.

  • DMS is absolutely dirty on Artist and Doctor. They can easily interrupt repairs from a distance, allowing them to camp with no consequences. Add in Pain Resonance and the game practically plays itself after the 1st hook.

Imo they need to limit how many gens can be blocked by DMS at a time, or reduce the duration by 10 seconds or so. The fact that the gens remain blocked for almost an entire hook state duration is unhealthy.

  • You don't. You burn pallets and pray your team gen-rushes before he snowballs. So if you play solo queue, you will lose vs. a good Blight most of the time since solos are often allergic to gens and go for unhooks instead.

  • I remember watching a dev play Wraith on Haddonfield with no bloodlust. He got infinite looped in the houses. It was glorious.

  • Spirit's perks are better by a mile, so I'd recommend her just based on that since you're a newer player.

  • There has noticeable surge in threads complaining about Dead Hard and because of this its safe to assume that dead hard will be nerfed soon.

Just because a bunch of threads get made doesn't necessarily mean the issue will be addressed. They haven't touched Dead Hard in 4+ years of complaining, and I don't see any reason to expect change now. If anything, the addition of hit validation showed they're more or less fine with the perk's effect as is.

  • DBD goes through a rise/fall every year. Both the average and the peak player count are higher now than at this time last year. In fact this is the best Winter in the game's history so far. So relax.

  • The main thing you need to learn is when to crouch and when not to. You move super slow while crouched, so you can't afford to do it very long. For this reason, I recommend starting out with tracking perks to help you know when a Survivor is nearby (Whispers if you get how to use it, Discordance if you don't). Other than that, just expect the gens to fly early game and don't get discouraged. Pig is pretty weak until you have traps on multiple Survivors to slow the game. Only use your Dash attack at short, unsafe loops.

As to your last question, I'd say any character is fine to master as long as you're having fun. Just know that Pig is towards the bottom of the barrel in terms of strength. If your goal is to win as much as possible, you might consider picking a different Killer.

  • There are no tips really. Half the map is a dead zone. Pray your teammates don't drop the only 4 or 5 pallets you have to work with. Even shack is unsafe with the guaranteed basement spawn. It's gotta be the least inspired map in the game.

  • Just commenting so I can look back on this post when it finally happens. Let the day count begin...

  • I'm grateful we get anything at all for free. They could've decided against Shards at all and charge for everything. That being said... yeah, shard gains are abysmal. 9K for a character feels fair imo. But 21,600 for 1 outfit is absurd.

  • What they actually need to do is adjust the boon mechanic itself to not be infinite use. CoH will be broken until then.

  • "If running the Killer for 5 gens doesn't get you the win" - But it does get you the win, Patrick, by definition. Your team is able to escape because of your chase skills. Frankly, anyone who actually plays this game often could tell you running the Killer is by far the #1 representation of skill as a Survivor. And yet the literal lead designer just doesn't comprehend that. Sad.

  • Currently experimenting with Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, Hex: Pentimento, and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance. Legion takes forever to down Survivors, so I think it's best to use passive slowdown perks.

If you want fun perks, then try Bamboozle for super speedy vaults. Also Enduring + Spirit Fury can be cheesy because if you hit a Survivor with Frenzy, then they pallet stun you, it will cancel your Frenzy cooldown so you can insta-down them. Doesn't always work, but it is fun!

Haddonfield was just the most notorious. There were other maps that had strong main buildings that also featured drops that weren't much better to deal with. Like Old Disturbed Ward, Grim Pantry (before the open area next to the window), Pale Rose.

Old BL was just never going to be healthy, because passive stagger reduction from falls was never going to be balanced. The devs would have to design every possible drop around BL existing. It's a similar issue when enduring working on DS and Head On stuns.

I agree that it was problematic and rightfully got nerfed. I just hate to see it in its current state where no one is running it anymore. I guess it's doomed to be a relic of the past.

DS and OoO were prior to the Anniversary as that stuff was before I joined. I will admit the hatch change was CRAZY. No idea why they went that hard on it, but the vast majority of nerfs have been to killer and the majority of relevant buffs to survivor (there are so many add ons changes that are so subtle that I could not possibly keep track of the ratio). That is just fact and to argue otherwise would be disingenuous af.

I am not saying there was not a good reason or whatever. But strictly speaking, it is pretty obvious why people generalize and say that they are mostly nerfing killer. Do not get me wrong, killer mains complain about a lot, but there are so many common trends here that you would have to be pretending not to see them.

Still, DS and OoO nerfs were less than 1 year ago. Their changes make a huge difference in quality of Killer matches.

And I get it. Killer gets the short end of the stick a lot, but we shouldn't act like Survivors have not seen balance changes as well. Outside of Circle of Healing, the game is actually relatively balanced imo.

We're all aware that Nemesis receives tier 2 from just 2 tentacle strikes on different healthy survivors correct?

They're assuming you have Marvin's Blood, so just 2 tentacle hits on a Survivor gets you Tier 2.

  • Spirit Fury is a good perk. Yeah it's boring, but insta-breaking a pallet can easily swing a game. One of the most clutch perks imo.

I seriously wish that Sacrificial Wards were returned to your inventory if no map offering was used. You can't predict when somebody's going to send you somewhere, and they're way too rare as it is.

Eh, but then I could just run one every match and more or less delete map offerings from the game. Actually that's a good idea, let's just delete map offerings altogether. It's more fair for everyone and less clutter in the Bloodweb. Win-win.

  • It's a huge reason why Sacrificial Ward is terrible. Not only can you get the same map you cancelled, but there might not be a map offering at all so it's just wasted.

Not really. They keep taking and taking from killers. And giving and giving to survivors. Within the last year-ish ? They buffed and nerfed wraith. Nerfed slinger. Nerfed twins. Nerfed Freddy. Added dead hard and pallet validation.

What nerfs have survivors recieved in that time ? None that comes to mind. They got boons. Validation. More maps that are survivor sided

To say it's a stretch. Isnt really

Um, Hatch nerf. DS nerf. Object of Obsession nerf. All within the last year.

If they didn't remove quick-scope, I would probably still play him. I wouldn't really care he got worse otherwise as a killer, but he would be still fun to play for me... Right now, he is not. I just enjoy Trickster / Huntress more and think they are both better than him now. I think Trickster is better, that's just bad...

The thing is quick-scoping needed to be nerfed. There wasn't enough time to react to it. If he missed a shot it was because of bad aim, not because the Survivor managed to dodge. That being said, of course he should've gotten big buffs in other areas, but they more or less hung Deathslinger out to dry.

  • If you factor in time played to matchmaking, then veterans get longer queue times. Idk what could be done. Plenty of other games have this issue as well.

  • A lot of the points you made reminded me of why I quit League of Legends. The stress, the occasional humiliation, and especially the emotional rollercoaster all ring familiar to me. You're definitely making the right choice to step away.

Anyway, you've made a lot of great posts over the years, so thank you very much for your contributions!

  • As others have said, I'm currently binging Nemmy to get my fill before the nerfs. Honestly I'm having a surprising amount of fun with him. Although it can be frustrating because he's by no means a strong Killer. His lack of mobility really hurts his potential.

  • No, the bloodweb difference is more or less nonexistent. A former dev said so himself.

  • The best use I've seen is pairing it with Pain Resonance. Then Survivors can't tell exactly when you're hooking to let go of the gen (unless SWF). Not meta.

  • @dugman said:

Pinkie Finger already has a big nerf on PTB. Maybe wait to see how that goes?

It's not that big of a nerf. You can still use the +2 bottles add-on and have 4 bottles with pinky finger. Don't need more than that for a down. It's more or less the same as before unless you have really bad aim.

Anyway, it's a highly noninteractive add-on, so I'd happily trade it away for general buffs to Clown's kit. I shouldn't have to run pinky finger to feel like I stand a chance at winning.

  • You apparently derank for easy games, so idk what you're trying to prove. Noob-stomping is not impressive.

Meanwhile the wiggle mechanic gets a buff because...why not? But the one actual legit killer buff in the entire patch? CALL THE COPS COTE!

Literally no one asked for the wiggle buff dude. Blame BHVR for that one. It has nothing to do with DMS being unfair with The Artist's kit.

    Do boons need nerfed? No.

    Does CoH need nerfed? Yes.

No, the mechanic needs work too. Boons should not be unlimited use in general.
