  • It's not bannable per se, but if it somehow does get flagged as something "bad", BHVR won't be able to assist you with recovering your account.

I just want to seperate video games with real life issues. I'm not ignorant. I'm not homophobic, but still people are so toxic towards me. It shows that I was correct all the time.

You ignore all the points made against you. At that point you are being ignorant.

”It shows that I was correct all the time”

    ???

    How, exactly?

yes, video games and real life are 2 different kind of things. A video game should stay a video game without putting our latest political issues into it.

I have to wonder why you find this so important to begin with? You just seem to want to avoid confrontation.

  • Removing the charm, thereby avoiding further confrontation seems like a terrible idea.

I´m still wondering on who was shooting at Nemesis.

Jill and maybe Leon, would be my guess. Who else?

  • People are saying the logo itself changed in shape. It hasn’t, it’s just a solid white now, as opposed to being smears.

As for my opinion...not a fan.

  • All voice-acting is sourced in-house as far as I know. With exception of Ash, as they got Mr. Campbell himself to model and VA.

  • Just because they’ve been out for some time, doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Look at Freddy and Doc.

  • Funniest thus far wasn't so much from the new characters as much as it was from the new tutorial.

Bot Meg opened a chest behind a wall she couldn't have seen and vaulted back. And vaulted again. And again. And again. She only stopped after the bot killer came right up to her and MISSED his attack.

Also I somehow managed to trigger a Dedicated get-stuck-in-grab on the bot killer. Felt very fitting.

  • Someone was going to get disappointed, regardless of the choice of characters.

  • What, is this a copypasta now?

  • How exactly is it even remotely close to “thought policing”? The censorship is deeply flawed, yes, but they’ve admitted as much. You can still say that you hate Spirit, you can still call someone a baboon, you can even insult the devs themselves in the chat as long as you don’t use profanity.

    This is ridiculous, tbh.

As long as they leave Cheryl out of it, I'm ok with it

No one is safe from DeviantArt. Not even characters that aren't even in the game.

  • If anything, if you'd give it a try, you could learn a thing or two for your own killer gameplay. See what weaknesses you can exploit and all that.

  • I think people have the wrong expectations of these realm overhauls. They expect balance changes, but that's not what these updates are about. They're about redoing all the assets, improving visual fidelity, or simply put, making them look prettier. And the devs may as well include breakable walls into these overhauled maps because they were going to be implemented anyhow.

I really don't think the devs went into this Realm Beyond update streak with the intent of balancing the maps. If they had, we'd see map layouts get changed around, some maps would get their overall size changed, hook count changes, pallet count changes. Yes some tiles were changed, most recently some tiles unique to Coldwind, but that can hardly be called an effort at balancing those maps. Patch 3.7.0 was a map balance patch. These patches aren't.

What purpose did the visual improvements to totems and the hatch do balance-wise? Of course they didn't change anything balance-wise, that wasn't the point.

  • I have to wonder, though, when I started playing just after spirit came out, I never saw this many disparities in ranks. However, tonight alone, I’ve versed and “worked with” rank 19-14s in all but 1 game. What changed?

  • If anything, I’ve had faster load times recently. I should add that I’m in western Europe, which you are too, iirc? Odd.

  • Try to place your traps in places where survivors feel a sense of security. You can “win” that by leaving very common spots empty, only to set a trap just behind the corner. Just make sure nobody is watching you when you set your traps. They don’t even have to be hard to see, just unexpected.

Beyond that, inavoidable chokepoints are always good. Though true chokepoints are very rare.

That said, there are some maps where you’re basically powerless. The Game in particular is very rough, in my experience.

  • If there's nobody around to hear me, yes, very often. It actually helps me keep track of what the opposite side has.

Mostly just me saying "oh crap", though.

  • Isn't something only an SCP when it has been assigned that moniker by the foundation? If not, then virtually any semi-magical character or thing is an SCP.

Also, if the Entity were to be an SCP, then wouldn't the foundation be all over it? If DbD ever did an SCP chapter, lore-wise the foundation has to know about the Entity somehow what with the cult in Elodie's bio and all. It'd need to be assigned a number and have its own article(s). What would that even look like? What would the foundation know?

(Also also, SCP according to the SCP wiki, the "acronym" stands for Special Containment Procedures, and the motto was created from the acronym, not vice versa.)

  • Sanctum of Wrath for me. Don't know what it is exactly, but it's my absolute worst map as both killer and survivor.

  • I'd love this. I saw a mock-up on youtube of this theme as the Pig's TR, but thought it didn't really fit with the intensity of the other TR themes. For an activated RBT however... Yes. Absolutely. Perfect.

in pyramid head's case, is that he is there to torture the entity,

and Miguel Mayas is just there.

Why would the Entity voluntarily let Pyramid Head torture itself? His bio literally states that an agreement was made with the Entity, and I highly doubt the Entity would just go "yeah sure you can hurt me whenever you want".

  • Isn't Bill free? Also, the perk Dark Devotion that's required for one challenge is available right now in the Shrine of Secrets for 2000 shards. That leaves 2 challenges you can't complete without buying the Plague herself.

Out of 23 challenges from this level of the Tome, that seems quite alright, tbh.

  • I mean, you can always try for yourself. I honestly don't know whether it would count, but it might? As I said, best to try it for yourself.

...and report back because I'm actually curious.

  • @Nos37 said:

I'm glad the points are gone.

Now when I see the last survivor struggle on the hook in the basement, I know they're doing it intentionally to deny me the hatch instead of simply "I want muh struggie pointzz..."

That, versus all the times there are still 2/3 survivors left other than the hooked one, are on second hook and are trying to stay in the game? Surely these situations vastly outnumber your situation.

  • Replying solely to the title:

There are plenty of valid reasons to complain about killer-related things. Telling people to stop doing that isn't helpful at all. If people can't complain about killers, then they also can't complain about survivors, getting nobody anywhere.

As I think OP said, yeah, you probably shouldn't let every frustration pile up and take breaks from time to time, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any problems with the game at all.

  • It's Grim Pantry, and that is absolutely a bug. There should be at least 2 debris tiles or a hill tile there. That is just a massive deadzone, by the looks of it.

  • I can still make out their silhouette though.

    image.png
  • I see her aura in the tiny bit of corn that obscures the survivor. It's not displayed anywhere else because you still have a clear view of the survivor.

  • Only thing I'm not a fan of is the middle braid. Otherwise, it's fine, imo.

Really curious what they did with Jake, though.

It flat-out states that Myers came willingly and that the Entity couldn't force him. Similarly, Myers can kill Survivors whenever he pleases, lore-wise and the Entity, while displeased, can do nothing to stop him.

Simple insanity won't protect you from the Entity , as Doctor is insane, but is still controlled. Huntress and Leatherface both have innocent child-like minds, but are also controlled.

Ergo, whatever powers Myers is outside of the Entity's sphere of power.

"He does not strike me as someone who even went unwillingly to this place. Is there more to this being than I can fathom? - Baker

I assume this is what you're referring to.

I interpreted that as the Entity not having to do anything to 'persuade' him into killing. Unlike all the other killers up to that point, Michael just kills because it's what he does, rather than the Entity having to corrupt him into doing so. It didn't have to (and most likely can't) drive him insane, nor can he torture him into submission. It doesn't say that Michael just wantonly entered the trials without the Entity opening up to him. I think the Entity found Michael, and not the other way round.

Yes, I am willing to believe that Michael's source of power comes from outside the Entity, and that therefore the Entity cannot control him like it would with other killers. But to what extent does "can't control" go? If the Entity truly has no control over Myers, then why is he not killing everything and anything left and right by hand ad finitum? Why is the Entity still doing fine despite it having an immensely risky wildcard within its trials? If Myers truly can't be controlled, then what's stopping him from turning the trials into perfect killing fantasies, where HE can capture anyone that has ever done him wrong into the trials and stab, stab, stab 'em 'till he gets bored?

I guess I'm just hesitant to just say that Michael can just 'adios' his way out of there. It just makes him seem like a Marty Stu who can just go "screw the rules". Then again, the same can be said for the Entity itself, ig.

He cannot. Perhaps, he doesn't need to.

The Evil that has chosen him seems to protect him and gives him what he needs. The man took two .38 rounds to the forehead, took 6 to the body and was fine.

I see no reason that the Evil which drives him couldn't adapt to the Entity. Technically, Myers could just leave, as the Entity has no power over him.

But how would he leave? Aren't the trials hosted in pocket dimensions? Isn't the Entity an entire dimension in and of itself? As I said, Myers may be exceptionally powerful physically and mentally, but I doubt even he can pass through the very fabric of several realities.

I suppose this comes down to what canon you believe is more powerful, either this "Evil" you mentioned, or the Entity.

  • @Harold_Shipman said:

seeing as the entity's power seems to be dominating the wills of others and using them to do its bidding the same could be said for it. It cannot dominate Myer's will, he serves himself. I expect a stalemate between the two, neither able to influence the other in any meaningful way

This. This is what I was trying to say. Thank you.

  • Even if the Entity can't control Myers, what's he gonna do? The Entity still controls where Michael goes, which trials he'll be doing his thing in. Sure, he may occasionally deprive the Entity of a sacrifice or two, but I highly doubt the Entity would allow him to do so in any meaningful way. He's still just a single 'man',

Also, what does "cannot control" even mean? I always thought this meant that the Entity cannot torture Myers to 'persuade' him.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2135461#Comment_2135461

Myers is Evil given shape, if you will. He is, in essence, a vessel for a much larger entity.

Same with Pyramid Head, to my knowledge.

The Mind Flayer has shown to be able to possess hundreds of people, build a reflection world and create its own creatures, so far as we know. I've always suspected the Demogorgon was here as a spy, to keep tabs on the Entity.

But even so, Michael is still limited by his physical body. He cannot project himself into every single trial, as far as I know.

  • I never understood the idea that Myers would be able to attack the Entity in any meaningful way. Yes, he's effectively immortal. Yes, he's absurdly strong both mentally and physically. Yes, he's unquestionably evil. But when it comes down to it, he's just a big guy with a penchant for murder. What's he gonna do against something he cannot even begin to grasp the scope of? What's he gonna stab a knife into? The air?

He cannot starve the Entity of survivor sacrifices, because there are FAR too many trials for him to make any meaningful impact. Besides, even if Myers could deprive the Entity of a meaningful amount of sacrifices and emotions, why would it even allow him to?

I can't say whether the same applies to Pyramid Head. I don't know whether it's suggested that Silent Hill still has influence over him (it?). If not, then the Entity could easily manipulate was the Red Pyramid Thing sees. If the town does have influence over him, the same treatment as Myers wouldn't seem like a stretch.

As for the Mind Flayer mentioned here, I have no idea. Never seen the show.

  • The Doctor also had this treatment. Moreover, Oni and Demogorgon had their themes changed entirely from the Killer's perspective, though that was changed not too long ago. Blight's "very close" Terror Radius also changed somewhat recently.

More recently, Trickster's menu theme has also changed.

I can't tell you why exactly, but PHead isn't the only one that had its associated music changed.

  • I've hardly ever felt robbed being smacked to the floor by an unexpected Devour. It feels like the Killer took a risk bringing in a perk that may be gone within 30 seconds of the trial starting, played decent enough to get at least 3 hooks in AND didn't camp. Devour Hope can win games, I've seen it happen from both sides. But only ONCE in my two-and-a-half years of playing has it made me go "oh sod off". I can't even remember what that match was like.

I like how the match comes to a grinding halt for the survivors, while the killer gets to capitalise on their EARNED momentum for as long as DH stands. By the time DH falls (if it indeed does), the trial could have shifted entirely into the killer's favour. And I cannot express this enough, it feels like they earned it.

Compare that to the times I got hit with a NoED that won the killer the game...

It only matters that you are in the first phase. Your teammate can be in the sacrifice animation and you can still try to unhook yourself.

You may actually be right. Could OP's situation be a bug then?

  • @TicTac said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2092359#Comment_2092359

If another survivor is still on the hook, you dont skip the first phase.

If they are on first phase, that's true. But that's not the situation that OP described.

  • What's preventing the killer from just staring at you? If they know there's still a small chance for you to escape, they will just stand nearby and smack you down the moment you get off.

  • @Deathslinger said:

As a community, can we figure out something for me? Decisive Strike is DS, we don’t need two. I don’t want to see “Well today I DS a DS”.

I always just call him "Slinger".

    To add to this list:

Iri Huntress / Iri Heads - Huntress bringing the Iridescent Head add-on, the one-hit down one.

Tombstone Myers - Shape bringing the Judith's Tombstome add-on, allowing him to kill survivors on the spot (if he gets to proc it)

Spooky/Jumpscare/Scratched Mirror Myers - Shape bringing the Scratched Mirror add-on, making him really slow but gives him the ability to see survivors' auras through walls. Commonly played on indoor maps.

Burger King Myers - [I actually don't know what this one means, but I've seen it mentioned a lot]

    GF - Ghostface

OoO / Object - Object of Obsession, the Laurie Strode perk.

  • This is intentional and was added a while back. It's basically an extension of what happens when you're the last survivor and on the hook. You die regardless of phase, since it's incredibly unlikely that you'll escape anyway. At that point it's simply a way of preventing the game to go on for longer than it needs to.

  • Considering that in a recent PTB-to-Patch period it was mentioned that the devs only had 3 days of actual work time before the actual release, this seems like a very bad idea. Don’t forget how abysmal the release of the Twins was, and that was WITH 3 weeks in between.

  • Maybe not any perks, but maybe add-ons? You gotta be more precise than this. What killer was it, what map was it on, who where YOU playing as, etc., etc.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

I think you're missing the fact that it does both.

Of course its a worse info perk than Surveillance, Discordance, Gearhead, and Bitter Murmer. Info is all those perks do. If a combo perk was better at info than a strictly info perk, that would mean something is wrong.

Likewise, of course it is a worse regression perk than Pop and Ruin. If a combo Info/Regression perk was better at regression than a perk that only does regression, something would be wrong.

Overcharge and Oppression are probably the most similar of the perks you're looking at, since they're both Info and Regression perks. Oppression is more powerful but it also has a pretty gnarly cooldown on it that Overcharge doesn't.

Now, Overcharge may very well need a buff, but the perk does have a niche that no other perk quite fits.

I get what you're saying, but I still think Overcharge is far too weak and unreliable to warrant running it over any exclusively regression or exclusively information perks.

I agree with you that it absolutely shouldn't outshine such perks, but in its current state, Overcharge does too little in either department AND relies on the survivor not being able to hit a skillcheck that they'll see coming the second time it triggers.

I think my frustration with this perk comes down to its unreliability. It MIGHT tip the killer off to a single survivor's location. It MIGHT regress a generator somewhat further. Once the survivors catch on to you using it, it's essentially random whether you get any value out of the perk at all anymore. You can't just Overcharge a generator and leave it until you hear a kaboom, because the effect may not even have done anything. I suppose it's not the only perk that has this issue but Overcharge grants too little benefit to warrant such a chance.

As for proposed buffs, at the moment I can only think of making the explosion guaranteed, and as a drawback capping the amount of generators that can be "charged" at a time to, say, 3. I'm sure there are other ways we could think of, though.

  • You can see your PTB data as another game profile entirely. Your PTB 'profile' is not the same one as the one you have on the live servers. You can buy a killer on the PTB with shards, but your purchase won't carry over to live, nor will any progress you've made with them. Your shards shouldn't disappear on the live servers either.

I think that's how it works anyway.
