Yes.
Maybe?
Absolutely
Yes (imo)
Depends on the map
Yes
Absolutely yes
Victory doesn't work like that
Yes
Can't say for sure, but most likely yes.

Keep in mind that when the new chapter comes out, there's 3 news perks to get on all p3-50 characters as well. Depending on how many you have, that may take a significant portion of your points too.

The bp event was obviously for the release of the game on the Epic Game Store.
It helps out the people who got the game(and tricks them into thinking the grind isn't that bad).
It hasn't released on Epic yet though, has it? That's not until a few days into December, iirc.
-
My killer side, easily. I am far too easy to read, and I'm not that good of a survivor in general.

coincidences don't happen in this industry bub
That...is a very cynical view to have, to be perfectly honest.
Want an example? Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing New Horizons releasing on the same day. I highly doubt that wasn't coincidental.
Oh, a DbD example? Patch 5.3.0.

Why is it even called VHS anyway?
Video Horror Society, I think is what it stands for in-universe? Otherwise, it's a reference to videotape players (Video Home Players), which in turn is a nod to the era it's set in.
-
Really? It's hardly ever the Dwights for me. They're often part of the group that does it, sure, but more often than not they're a bumbling idiot.

Just gonna leave this here as another one's opinion.

Have you considered... Black Friday? Y'know, as an actual holiday? The actual given reason for the blood hunt?
Coincidence, sure, but these things are planned months in advance, and since Halloween didn't have one, this makes sense too.
-
Ooh, interesting.
Alert
Situational Awareness / Better Together
Calm Spirit (albeit only the crow aspect of it)
Lightweight
It's largely based on me having the unintentional tendency to just silently (dis)appear, and also me being very aware of my immediate surroundings. Though when I do get caught a tight spot, chances are I'll fall quicker than most. If the killer does ambush me, I'm just dead.
Also, I've always been in terrible shape, so no exhaustion perks for me.
-
In its in-match effect, BBQ is really not that good. Thrilling Tremors does a way better job at it, but naturally it doesn't give BP, so...guess which one sees more use.
Undying is really overrated imo as well. If it goes down, the actual hex is soon to follow, if the survivors are persistent enough.
-
I think I'm on level 63 as of now. And that's with me having to take a hiatus due to PC problems.
-
I mean, is there ever a good time?
-
I think removing perk tiers would allow for far more creativity with perk creation, as they no longer need to be bound to arbitrary numbers that become marginally better with a higher tier.

I recorded them but I'm on ps5 and I don't know how to upload the clip on my laptop. Also not sure about the seconds allowed and what not. Can you even report them without viewing their steam ID? because I'm on ps5
I don’t know the process for anything other than PC, so I can’t help you there.
The forums have a “Help” section that maybe has some answers for you. Otherwise, I’m sure one of the moderators will see this soon enough.
-
Report them, it’s the only thing you can do. Make sure to record the game if at all possible.

why not? It's good to change their meta a bit. change is mostly a good thing you know? You learn something new and challenging if they keep running the same thing over and over that just gets boring. it becomes easy as saying ABC. Let them be pressured more. Survivors are 4 man. Killer is only played by 1 player and he has a lot to deal with. this perk would make the game more healthy for both killer and survivor. Besides survivors will have fun being chased and looped. Hiding and camping is so boring. Survivors don't like campers and killers dont like when they hide. So this perk would fix a lot of issues the game currently has.
Yes but you do realise that you'll never see anything other than Distortion. You want variety, not to force one particular perk.
-
I think the Fiend would make the most sense as the Nurse, though even that is a massive stretch. They both float, that's it.
The Brute relies on its raw physical strength, and actually doesn't use any weapons. We don't have any killers like that that aren't licensed or don't have totally different proportions.
The Hunter would make a lot of sense as Demo, as it also travels through "portals" in the form of the egg sacks. Though that isn't happening, for obvious reasons.

no the developers can buff distortion and maybe make it better than what it is at currently. but not too strong because survivors already have a lot of great perks compared to killer. Killer suffers a lot from hiding survivors. it really wastes a lot of time for them and this game the killer has so much to do and so little time to do it so that's why i'm saying that a perk to see survivors aura would help and make the game more interesting
But then survivors would be forced to run Distortion to avoid something that was never there before. That is, imo, never a good thing.
-
It's called Gift of Pain, or the upcoming Pain Resonance, not Scourge Hook, FYI. It's like hexes and boons--Scourge Hook: GoP
As for its actual use on Plague, I'm not too sure. It seems a tad redundant, since it only works once on each survivor, and they're bound to get injured again via infection not too long after anyway. Perhaps as a mid-game option?

Here's me thinking the 'nerf Wraith' threads would've ended after 5.3.0. Pathetic of me to think such thing.
Anything and everything must be nerfed. That foot all killers always run? Too oppressive, baby killer crutch body part. L2P, noob.
-
I...
How are you lot even falling for this?
It wasn't even meant to be seen as a real thing? It was so clearly satire?
It goes from 5.x.x to 7.0.0 for crying out loud.
-
Running Lightborn against 4 flashlights is one of the few things in this game that just make me cackle maniacally. Oh, what's this? Your flashlight has been reduced to a glorified stick? You poor thing. Better try, try again--maybe it'll work next time!
Have yet to see it in action against Blast Mine, though.
-
By your spelling, it seems you are very frustrated. Maybe take a few moments away from the game, to calm down.
As for the topic, what's your ping like? What's your region? More often than not, this is due to latency shenanigans, not so much a bug or oversized hitboxes.
-
Honestly? Why not go for both? Neither of them are bad, even if they fulfill different purposes.
More options are always better, imo, though I can also understand why you don't want to clutter your webs. If you really want to go for one or the other, I'd go with Empathy, because the knowledge it gives you is usable even outside of your self-assigned role.
Definitely get Kindred if you see it. Especially if you're a solo player.

If it's fake, then Scott Jund just did a 20 minute video for nothing because he literally read the entire patch notes word for word.
Did you...
Did you miss the ending of that video?

I recall way back when that they had this test that players could sign up for. They wanted to see what the game looked like without any perks whatsoever (possibly also items? not sure). Never saw the result from that.
-
Yeah...
Someday...
Only thing I'm not to keen on is the "see scratch marks through walls" thing given to Predator. That needs a range limit otherwise you can see scratches on the entire map.
-
By the speed I see them do it, I think it’s a muscle memory thing.

Survivors waiting 10 minutes in a queue to be like "oh no it's the killer i really hate" and DC never gets old to me, nor does the people left behind thinking it's time to farm either. >:)
I can assure you it gets old for the remaining survivors very, very fast. Not to say you should farm, but please go easy on us.
-
You are aware that DS is deactivated when the user even accidentally taps M1 on a gen or an injured survivor, yeah? If you get hit wirh DS that often, you tunnel a lot, plain and simple.
Endgame DS leading into escape? Unlucky, but quite honestly, it’s called “Decisive Strike” for a reason.
-
Slamming a pallet on a phasing Spirit, or a Plague with Corrupt Purge active. It’s such a “no u” feeling.
-
Before I made my profile friends-only, I got 2 in total I think. Given about a year of playtime, I don't think that's a whole lot, considering what you all get.

For VHS, sure, but a really strong argument could be made that the reason DBD is the king of the genre is because the Killer can't be killed themselves.
That's certainly why none of its competition ever really appealed to me- getting bullied by good survivors in DBD is already pretty frustrating, adding actual damage and eventual death onto that seems even worse.
That's actually a very fair statement. I haven't actually seen any VHS stuff beyond the dev streams, so I'm not entirely sure how it typically plays out.
By the by, is it true there's built-in voice comms? I've seen the ping system but am still a bit confused on that one.
-
I mean, that's the entire point, no? Kill the opposing party.
-
Who knows, really?
-
I particularly don't miss being the victim of one. I have never seen one in good will.
-
Ping testing maybe? Not sure why you'd do that, though.
-
Bizarrely, I got it first try, even without the extended hold add-ons (if those even exist, I’m not familiar with Trickster’s add-ons).
Can’t recall the map it was on, though. Suffocation Pit, maybe?

If im not wrong... literally every killer with custom chase music other than oni play their chase music in their POV.
Oni now also hears his chase theme as it appears for the survivors. This was changed a while back. The other one was Demo, I think?

@ProfD said:
they made the perk too much, I never use it but nowadays bunch of killers do and it's annoying
The only thing it does is punish attempted blinds. That’s all. If that’s “too much” you rely on blinds way too much.
-
Lightborn now also reveals the aura of the wannabe blinder for a short duration. I’ve heard some really funny stories about Jills being revealed in a really bad spot because of Blast Mine.
-
For survivor, it’s always been about the points for me. 21k+ feels like a victory, lower feels like a loss. I also don’t why specifically 21k. Lower than 10k feels like it was just a waste of time.
For killer, for me it’s:
4 escapes - hard loss
3 escapes - loss
2 escapes - close loss/draw depending on amount of hookstates
1 escape (through non EGC gate) - draw
EGC-gate/hatch escape - victory (unless going for Adept)
It’s perhaps a bit stricter than most would have it, but I’m not going to lie to myself in what I consider a victory either.
Some may point out that 1 escape through the gates is considered a draw. The main thing here is that the survivors still managed to complete their objective, thereby winning as well. It’s really that simple.
A victory as such is also not the main goal. It’s about hooks for me, and if that ends up winning me the game, then goody.
That also means that an absolute stomp, ie, all die within 5-6 hooks, is still a victory, but not a satisfying one per se. Having a satisfying yet decisive victory is the ideal outcome, naturally. The points will come, regardless.
-
This is why I hope they make alternates for the ‘different’ themes. The standard theme has, what, 6 completely different variations? It’s a lot of work, but making one or two alts for every theme would be fantastic, and they can reuse themes that went unused, such as Oni’s.
Though I also wish they keep the 6 og themes, somehow. They’re way too good to go unused. Maybe do the Monstrum thing and only change the theme once you’ve had your first direct interaction with the killer?
-
I'm not sure about Brutal, but Fire Up could definitely use a slight numerical buff. Iirc, this was tried out with Freddy's rework, but slightly reverted. Never understood why.
-
Well, this turned into a Mary Sue story real quick, didn’t it?
-
I find it baffling it censors common swear words, WHEN SAID SWEAR WORDS APPEAR IN THE TOMES.
It's just nonsensical.
-
That's bound to happen when you play a game for so long. It's like "oh, by the way, that chair you liked? yeah we replaced it." It feels uncalled for, even if ultimately it ends up being a more comfortable chair. Adding to that is the fact that some do not find the new chair comfortable at all. Give it some time? Maybe, but it'll never be like that old chair again.
-
When it first went live, it was great for me. Some really great and close matches.
Now? I get curbstomped and curbstomp myself harder than ever before. There's nothing in between anymore. Like, a game I just had was a god nurse versus a claud with 13 hours.
It just doesn't do anything anymore.
