OoO only works on bad killers.
Okay i explain it. Most killers capitalize on survivor mistakes, especially stealth killers. They are in a massive disadvantage, when the survivor got a wallhack on them 24/7. And that's what OoO does. So the change is nice.

Upcoming nerf with more Undedectables is logical, but not very fair in my opinion, this perk is decent but it’s still not be used very much and nerfing it is not a good idea.
It's not an Alert nerf, it's a nerf for the way more opressing perk OoO.

I love the game.

The killers hold the game hostage by being tryhards and we try but it’s hard lol
Never said playing survivor is easy, but survivors got the highest skill ceiling in the game.

I love this game, but the balance decisions are very weird sometimes.

All I play is SWF... we are in red ranks. We die before we can even do a gen most times and the experiences are awful for us but it’s okay tho cuz from what everyone’s saying this game is “slightly survivor sided.”
It matters how you play swf. If you go tryhard and concentrate fully on the game, constantly pinging your own and probably the killers position to your teammates, getring all the great skillchecks and going for good chases, you will win. No matter which killer you are facing, except spirit. If you talk about food with your friends, you are nearly the same as solos.
-
Ranks mean much. But if you understood the game you are at red ranks, that's a problem. I think we might need ten more ranks.
-
"Spine Chill" is actually a counter to undetectable. So yeah it's a great perk against all stealth killers and the only hardcounter to Gen Grabber Spirit.
-
Some killers can play perfectly without addons, as example spirit and Plague. I don't think it's a good idea, because some perks are way more powerful than an addon.
-
@AkiTheKitten said:
The purple insta heal addon still gives you a free hit in chases, why is everyone saying it was nerfed?
It wasn't really a nerf to instas. I mean as killer you got a counter to it now like BT, that's kinda nice. I would've prefered smth like 4 seconds for the iri and 8 seconds for the rare to heal. And guys, medkits got a massive buff.
-
I saw survivors running at me multiple times as nurse. I didn't even thought about charging a blink and they ran at me. Weird af.
-
Matchmaking is still a bit messed up. Try to change your region as both, killer and survivor.
-
@Kaiju said:
Lmao all those ppl saying nurse has counterplay haha funny , If the nurse is not a completely potato you are not getting away is all in the nurse If she decides to make a mistake or not
It's funny you say that, because when i play Wraith, if the survivor is not a complete potato i am not getting him. All the survivor decides to make a mistake or not.
Old base nurse got good counterplay, but people like you didn't wanted to see it, that's why she got killed.

I've been wandering the forums for a few months and have come across multiple people who see it okay to DC to suit their own interests. I don't see it ever okay to DC (unless someone is cheating or holding the game hostage). DCing hurts both sides and it's a huge waste of time for everyone. One person can ruin the match for everyone. I'm a killer main and have only ever DC'd once when the swamp boat exploit was a thing and I got trapped by a survivor (ie. Holding the game hostage). What I want to know is: Does anyone believe it's okay to DC? If so, why is it okay?
DCing was okay when dedicated weren't here and killers were super laggy from simbabwe in mcdonalds. Now there's no single excuse for dcing anymore. It hurts your team, it hurts the killer, so you are a douchebag if you do it.
-
No ruin basekit, no BT basekit, just a secondary objective. At the moment a game lasts ~10 minutes at high ranks. If you would longer the chase time for survivors with map tiles, pallet spawns and so on, you can give them anpther objective to longer the whole game.

Also to survs who don't touch Nurse or Killer
You can comment your opinion, but it also means you really don't know the niche parts, and the weaknesses of Nurse. New nurse is problematic because of these things. Coming from a Nurse main from the start.
1. You blink twice to get mobility, whatever. This can be nerfed somehow like add extra fatigue, but it is a thing. (I play other killers too.)
2. Chases. Oh boy, chases. Dead Hard was already a Nurse counter that could extend Chase's for an additional 10-15 seconds. Now? I'd say a good survive can squeeze a good 30-45 secs out of you. On an m1 killer, we all know that's bad for them, well same here. She becomes much weaker in this area not only just cuz of a perk but because now Nurse has trouble keeping up with you. Remember, this is the process.
A. She blinks at you. She may do it again, if you were far enough away. If the Nurse gets a hit, you get a sprint burst and she immediately fatigues. You're half way across the map and she won't catch up nearly as fast anymore. (This may be a healthy change). If she does not get a hit, she must endure the Chain Blink Window (~1.1 ish seconds) followed by fatigue (2.5 seconds) where she will recharge 1 blink .5 seconds later.
B. If the Nurse decides to use her 1 blink to try and catch up, she won't. She won't even get anywhere near you, especially if you took a hit. And she will also fatigue again and must recharge.
C. If she waits, you gain an absolute TON of distance. And she still, may not even catch up.
3. Yes, vs bad survivors she is fine, just about as powerful as before. Vs good survs, you simply won't keep up like you used to. The Fragile Wheeze is basically a MUST for her now.
I remember you writing she's still S-Tier and her addons are really good.
Anyway, her new counter, running in a straight line, is just dumb. Without cooldown addons you can just run her around the map for ages. Now vsing nurse is pretty boring. I made a whole review of her addons and the only viable ones i found were the cooldown addons and Campbell's Last Breath, although it's very difficult to time the second instablink.
-
Will the nurse be reverted? Like really i made a long review on those forums and my conclusion is that she can't go to live like that.
-
Keys and Moris both shorten the objectives of both sides. Both unbalanced, change both.
-
@Yung_Slug said:
Blink recharge would make sense if they didn't remove most of the extra blink addons. Just give her longer fatigue, it's weird to have 2 separate cooldowns.
Yep, three seconds base fatigue would've been acceptable.

Oh the spirit complains begin. Why not adding a fatigue after using her power? Would be lit. kappa.

I don't know why everyone is bitching about spirit being "annoying". Like you bitches never complain about her before, why now?. Like the only thing that needs to be change about her is Anal Beads add on( which just needs to a ultra rare) So y'all need to stop whining about spirit and ######### about that NEEDS to bitched about
After Spirit it will be Plague i guess.

Actually I'm just fine with the change. Makes the Nurse have an ACTUAL counter like all other killers.
I understand she's a powerful killer, but it does not mean she should be impossible to win against. Which made her... Dare I say it, "op". It made facing against her a nightmare in a bad way. You can't escape a god nurse, this change was there to relieve a bit of pressure from survivors, to at least give them a chance to escape more easily than before.
The change was definitely needed but the thought never occured. If a killer gets 4k's every match in high ranks, then the killer is overpowered. I'm happy that they changed her. Besides, her change isn't crippling, all it does is add a 6 second cooldown to blinks. Forces her to be accurate and spare usage of blinks, which adds a new strategy to her.
At least she doesn't have a tier to herself lol.
The addon change was very needed, like i said. The cooldown not. So i put around 300 hours only in base nurse and i'm not winning every game on high ranks with her. About 80% is a pip and about 60% is a 4k i guess. Now i have to use two addons to get the same results.

I think it will get better when you get more used to it. Remember, all of this is on both sides. Insta heals were taken out too.
And medkits got buffed, aside, the free BT in a chase is technically still an instaheal. For some reason the devs decided to completely overnerf nurse. No big downsides for survivors.

Cool! I hope you had fun with them! But please, either way, keep it civil!
The only viable addons so far are the ones that reduce the cooldown. So i'm gonna stick to them i guess.

Leatherface is more likely to get stomped than Nurse...yes.
Is it an unwinnable situation because you played a killer with a low skill cap? Absolutely not. All it takes is one survivor mistake. One potato on the team to win the match for the killer.
The reason Spirit and Nurse are so highly regarded is that they don’t rely on survivors mistakes. Still doesn’t mean that they are the ONLY killers you can win as against optimal survivors.
Every killer is viable in the right hands. If they can gets downs, they can win.

AS I said! It may have been needed to start being ABLE to rework maps or bump up Lower Tier killers!
There just isnt a "Nurse" Tier any more! She's still good!
To counter her you can literally run in a straight line now. B a l a n c e d.

After the new Nurse changes I’ve been seeing ALL over the place that players have stated the following...
“Nurse is dead.”
“RIP Nurse”.
”Spirit is the only viable red rank killer against a good SWF group now.”
”Red ranks have no diversity.”
I personally do not believe Nurse is terrible and I STILL believe she is the best killer in the game because she ignores all survivor defenses and if you’re good with Nurse, you rarely miss your blinks anyways.
But are Nurse and Spirit REALLY the only killers you can play at red ranks and win? The answer is no.
Ever since Plague was released I have made her one of my main killers and I typically 3-4K with her. Of course I have my dud matches but 90% of the time my matches end in a 4K. I am Rank 1 by the way.
Not to mention Hag and Billy are very good as well. Huntress is an awesome killer too. I know players who main Leatherface and Doctor in higher ranks and they do very well.
You’re not gonna win all your matches, just let that sink in. So many people focus on their negative matches and ignore the five previous matches they had that ended in a merciless victory and a 4K.
I’m just so tired of people claiming that the game is a Nurse/Spirit meta when it is clear that other killers can do well in red ranks. It’s just not gonna come as easily.
Who do you main at your rank and how do your matches typically go?
That's the main problem. You mentioned it yourself. Every killer CAN do well in red ranks. But some killers are very likely to get stomped, because they got a low skill cap. Nurse and Spirit got a very high skill cap. Huntress and Billy got a high skill cap too, but not as high as the survivor skill cap.
-
I mean they reworked one map. After a whole Coldwind rework they should've started to think about nurse. Maybe.

Yes, three seconds felt very hindering in some situations.

No. Imagine billy having a cooldown on his chainsaw.

Ok and this is a survivor main thing why?
I don't see why whenever ANYTHING changes its all the survivors fault lol..People just need to stop with it ..Maybe the Devs seen something wrong with it..Gees-us
The only ones that complained about base nurse are people with no understanding of her playstyle and counterplay. Usually low ranks or survivor mains. She don't needed another penalty on top of the fatigue.

I play m1 killers in the red ranks. If you really need all the crutches built into current Nurse, there's bigger issues at play.
I play all killers at red ranks. I know how painful it is to play Clown or Legion against players that know how to abuse certain map structures. Nurse was one of the two viable killers, that not got completely disabled by the long loop on Ironworks for example.

Some people love to blow small changes massively out of proportion for no reason. In that 3 seconds you can still blink, you just can't double blink.
Tried to catch survivors with one blink nurse? Gl against experienced players m8.

Yeah, I think I have played against Red Rank Survivors... more than once... lol...
If you're following them after fatigue and wait literally 4-3 seconds... IT ISN'T A BIG DEAL! Seriously... How is 4 or 3 seconds going to do anything when you can blink across two tiles with ease, and another blink to follow up...
The only issue this bodes is if you're in a place like Lerys or Hawkins, which is hard enough for a Nurse already since there are mutiple walls and areas to hide...
I'm really surprised thst you are red ranks. Because you should know it's a big deal. Three seconds are massive, survivors can get to tiles, just break LoS and run away, there are so much more chances for survivors to escape or lobger the chase now.
-
@anarchy753 said:

0.5m different to what she already suffered.
But a survivor got three seconds to break LoS, get instahealed, get blocked and so on. Some people don't seem to get how massive three seconds are.

The 180 charges green toolbox should be VR or UR too.

Other killers do NOT do a better job, and 3 seconds is literally 0.5 meters no matter how good a survivor you are.
She still got fatigue. Remember the nurse is slower than survivors. So it's effectiveky around two metres.

@Maggy_Fyers said:
I agree therefore the next nerf will be spirit. If I was BHVR I'd nerf spirit first because at least nurse took skill.
If the nerf spirit i will quit the game for a while. I mean i don't play her, but she's the only viable killer in red ranks after the changes (if this ruined nurse comes to live).

You don't really need the add-ons it just benefits you and makes it similar to pre-basekit...
People who place Nurse a lot don't even use add-ons with her, cause why would you? So even if you do decide to use add-ons to reduce the time, it doesn't really change much from what you previously did.
And even if you don't, 4 seconds to get 2 blinks back (You get 2 seconds of recharge because a default fatigue takes 2-3 seconds and it charges during the beginning of the fatigue) Isn't that bad.
You clearly never played against red rank survivors. One second of additional time to escape or longer the chase is a big deal. Three seconds is just insane.
EDIT: I am a nurse main at red ranks. I will test out the changes, but the new nurse won't be S tier anymore, don't even A tier.
-
@anarchy753 said:
As a killer main, I see this as entirely fine.
Nurse actually takes a bit of thought now, not just spam blink until you land on them. It brings her much closer in line with other killers' chase mechanics while still retaining the majority of her power.
At most, to do the exact same thing, you just have a 3-4 second window where you have to recharge.
IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.
IT IS NOT UNBALANCED.
She seems weak in red ranks now, because three seconds are much time for a good survivor to gain distance. Base nurse was perfectly balanced, no need to nerf her at all. Now tell me, why should anybody try to learn the nurse? She needs very good musle memory AND other killers do a better job.
-
@FireHazard said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/744084#Comment_744084
Its quite a mouthful lol, but the point is that these changes don't really matter to a Nurse who can effectively play her already...
Nothing is different besides the practicality towards a chase against her, and how realistic that chase is now. Being downed in under 30 seconds... isn't realistic... especially when this can be done multiple times.
And that's what people don't seem to understand. Even an experienced nurse player can't catch up to an (warning! very hilarous!) running survivor with the new nurse. You need two addons to make her working at all.
-
You can build base nurse with the addons so i really hope they stack. The devs didn't listen to many many players that proved why base nurse is fine. So we have to deal with a bad balsnce decision on the PTB now.

No one knows why she was Nerfed uh how about the fact that she can ignore every defense mechanic that survivors have she can teleport through walls and has the best map pressure in the game. Yeah still not sure why she was nerfed.
Base nurse dude. She got less map pressure than billy without addons.
