DBD Problems are over exaggerated?
They're pushing a HUD patch that everyone hates.
They have Devs that they had to silence due to their lack of professionalism.
They refused to implement a color blind mode for years (It took an outcry on social media that lead to extremely bad press to force their hand).
Matchmaking is a complete ######### show and puts rank 10-20's against Rank 1's (even without SWFs).
Hit boxes and Latency are worse than any game i've ever seen.
Many killers are bugged and have been bugged for years (ie Nurse, Myers, Oni ect).
Every patch is released with more bugs than they can fix within a 3 month period. (Alot being game breaking.. ie falling through maps, invincible under hooks/gens)
Most maps are incredibly unbalanced and either lean heavily toward killers or heavily toward survivors.
Most cosmetics cost more than the base game itself.
The bloodpoint grind is so bad that most new players wont ever catch up.
"Statistics"
Extremely long queue times for survivor
Shall we keep going?
gaming companies push features and functions that some players hate, some love and this is more of the verbal minority that thinks it's a majority of players that hate. some love it, others are i just want to play.
not everyone is good at public speaking. sometimes people are given a chance to talk publicly about a product and later should never have. look at the Tip O'Neal shot himself in the foot award over a 4th of july event and he was the speaker of the HOUSE, a lawyer and still that was a BAD call. Not all DEVS are supposed to talk to the public.
There are games that never got a color blind mode yet here one comes.... Everquest and world of warcrafte (not sure about wow but nothing was heard and both are still in production) does not have a color blind mode) that's just ONE example.
publically the match making algorithm is said to be thus: Killer rank +/- 6 ranks and after time if a match is not formed that window is opened up. so take a rank 10 killer, that window becomes rank 4 to rank 16, and only a short time it'd be rank 1 to 20. also SWF changes things up. just because you see a rank 1, 9, 10 and 20 doesn't mean they aren't solo. again lets take the rank 10 killer and we take the AVERAGE of the ranks, 1 + 9 + 10 + 20 = 40 divide by 4 and that is an average of 10 (and i just threw numbers lol) so a rank 10 would be matched there as well. but you talk about a rank 1. so a rank 1 can be matched by the algorithm from rank 1 to rank 7, again use the above swf which is average of rank 10, not too much to open up to allow the average rank 10 to be matched.
Hit boxes and latency two different issues, one a function of the game, one a fact of live with the World Wide Web. the first is functioning as is, but you just don't see the hitboxes and WHEN the hits are calculated. latency you can not easily account for in even the current mode of the game, anything to mitigate this issue would cause more issues in general. but hey they are working on that.
maps: well yea some will be either or, some will be middle of the road. the fact of random placement of things in a procedurally generated map where it is built tile by tile.
blood point grind: lol i started in 2018 and i have so many characters at 50 and on hold because I want to prestige them it's just a matter of devoting the time for what you want.
Statistics: can be rotated and manipulated to show you what ever you want to see and should never be a 100% guide as to what is happening in the game. most companies even like amazon don't use statistics correctly.
extremely long queue for survivor: till recently it was decent, but their recent changes has pushed many killers away thus increasing survivor queue time, before it was decent changes then pushed survivors away and killer queue time was horrendous.
Going back over i missed a few comments: killers bugged for years, this is not easy to fix lots of variables and requires people submitting the RIGHT information that can be VERIFIED in order to help find the issue, Same issue about patching in DLC content. just because a bug was never found before doesn't mean it hasn't been there but just hasn't been reported or EVEN able to be connected to what IS reported. there was a bug in a program that I was writing for a class and for the life of me I could NOT understand where the bug was! Turns out it was not the calculations or even the CHECKS that I was making against the values, it was in the storage allocation location, it was not correctly being stored where it should thus the checks were giving me erroneous values! took 3 days and 4 people looking at it and finally another looked and spotted it!
cosmetics cost: greater than the cost of the game? how is that possible when the most expensive SKIN/COSMETIC is $15 and the base game before discounts or specials is $20. if you are telling me the cost of the game is free on game pass, that is not true though to you it is free, it is not free at all as microsoft pays the bill with the money you give them!
Sure keep going I'll come up with a logical and plausible reason you are wrong.

DS is the most cried about perk from killers. Waaah! Not a game breaker, sooo many killer main whiners on here. Comedy for a game that still skews heavy killer
shall we talk about the killer perks that are most cried about here by the survivors? Ruin, Undying, Noed (all three got nerfed and ruin and noed are still cried about). also BBQ which got nerfed as well.
if you are curious what nerfs have happened because of survivor complaints:
1) Undying: must be a problem when people run it to do it's job so it's oppressive! gets nerfed with a small buff that it will take tokens with it once.
2) Ruin: so oppressive that survivors won't learn the game to get past ruin. they didn't WANT to learn how to hit great skill checks even though this helps them get better! I personally jumpped on totem hunting while my more experienced friends did the gens no biggie... I still learned great skill checks!
3) BBQ: originally when I started in 2018 it showed survivors in lockers, conversly survivors were able to use their aura reading perks in lockers too. This was quickly changed so it also got nerfed but as did survivor perks like object, empathy, alert and others. (oh look!!!! I brought up concurrent survivor nerfs with the killer nerf being discussed run for the hills this is someone that looks at both sides of the coin).
4) NOED: originally was not a hex perk and existed from the start of the game and could not be turned off. advent of the hex perks it became a hex giving survivors a chance to turn it off before it even begins! Oh but that's not enough!!!!! survivors can't be arsed to take down 5 totems in one match between the 4 of them!!!! (this change happened before oct 2018 though but I know of it)
Now shall we talk about other NERFS of killers over the last 2-2.5 years? We should also talk about survivor nerfs as well. AND for this REWORKING a character is NOT A BUFF OR A NERF, a nerf is known as something to remove or impair functionality of a perk, item or character and a buff is the opposite, where it is to add or increase functionality of a perk, item or character (ok add on as well for both of these). a character re-work is NOT either of these though you can, though incorrectly, that these changes do function as a buff or a nerf in general but at that point it is a new character even though it was out already and since only killers have specific things a rework of a character from the ground up can not be compared to the survivors characters and thus buff or nerf can not be applied.

I'm not sure i know how i feel about this... has anyone else had a weird glitch like this while playing?
it has happened before i'd report it to them and let them tell you the fix to this. it is a glitch and though hackable there is no reason to do this as it won't give you anything special. :) don't worry about reporting the bug no one has been banned because it happened. :)

DS unironically getting nerfed and even OoO being touched before Keys and their STILL BUFFED STATE are addressed is just a ludicrous joke though.
Currently a single survivor can bring a key to have 22,5 seconds of wallhacks against the killer AND gain a free escape at a hatch location of their choice (Brown offering because why the ######### not make that brown instead of red)
Does this iteration of DS do absolutely anything? Not really. You can still hop into lockers and stun yourself for a minute, hurray. Since you're now banned from all objectives if you don't want to lose your tunnel protection, i expect a whole lot more killers to try and tripple-tunnel down someone - again, the only even semi-viable strategies vs high rank survivors involve either eliminating the weakest player as quickly as possible or constantly keeping someone slugged, as gen regression perks keep eating nerfs after nerfs (pop, ruin, undying's gonna go too)
Behavior, if you have any interest of making the game remotely playable at high skill levels, there are three DESPERATELY needed changes:
- add a 5-10 second action to hatch unlocking
- Only stop a generator from regressing if a survivor repairs it for at least the animation time taken to kick it, 0,01 second taps mid-chase are as broken as old hook 99% sabotaging
- Doors constantly being left at 99% completely negates the existence of the Endgame collapse, therefor they should regress slowly while not being held. Additionally i would suggest the ability for a survivor to literally hold the switch up as long as they want, with the ability to then release the door by pressing spacebar. That way someone actually "holding the door" would still be a viable option for the current 99%ing, but at the cost of needing a "maintaining member".
I'm not sure on your first comment, I can understand the second, but the third is not even an issue. The killer CAN open the door if they want the EGC timer at anytime once all gens are done. so sure survivors 99 the door the killer can go wack it and presto the EGC is there. up to the killer to do things after that thought. So your third comment is negated by the killer's ability to open it on demand.

Please, I love to use keys sometimes but if you were to nerf them then make it NOT for the hatch. I also kind of hope that it isn't not be something like "One key per survivor". You might think I'm silly but I'll explain why that might actually be a buff.
In most instances, a key is used in a swf. The survivor "probably" is going to get tunnelled not matter what. If the "nerf" is one key per survivor then wont every survivor run a key, it isn't a nerf if it's countable. Just imagine killer mains, 4 survivors with blood amber, lol.
the "one key per survivor" aspect of key nerfs people have talked about is using the same no brain usage idea of nerfing mori's by just making it only on death hook. I'm not saying that it's a good or bad nerf for the mori but it was litterally said we didn't think hard on this and came up with something quickly and implemented it while not talking about keys in the same idea so people took the change one variable in the game to make the nerf happen and thus the one key per survivor per escape, changed hatch stays open time to 0. NOW they say they are re-working mori's AGAIN and will put it out with the change to keys. That's why this idea was put out and no one truly expects it to be that way but now that they said they were re-working the mori nerf that lends credence to the fact they knee jerk reacted to the survivor aspect of the mori vs key argument and found a way to placate the survivors at the cost of the killer base.
Though the survivors ARE their bread and butter, you loose ONE player that plays killer and then 4 people have to wait that much longer, 10 lost, 40 have to wait that much longer, 100 then 400 have to wait that much longer. Assuming the number of people playing survivor stays constant and either doesn't stop playing or switches to killer. but it shows that though 4/5ths of the game will generally be survivor players the 1/5 remaining has a dramatic effect on the other 4/5ths that play the game (again the numbers for each side stay static and only killers leave the game.)

The real issue is that 90% of the community knowledge of the game is equal to zero and they have no idea on how the game works. Everyone was happy about ds nerf back in 2019 and only with time they discovered that it was even stronger than before. The avg player has no clue on how the game works and can't foresee anything. Power struggle and cameraderie were supposed to be problematic and new meta yet never seen anyone getting use out of those perks. Doctor rework was supposed to be a nerf yet we all know what it was, spirit was supposed to be weaker than billy (LMAO). So no sorry i'm not an hypocrite i always predicted perfectly how changes to the game would have affected the gameplay as a whole and i will keep saying: this ds nerf is a placebo and 2 days after the rework goes live killers will be back complaining about it as usual.
I will save this thread because i can't wait for the "told ya" moment
This change looking at it from both sides makes this perk more balanced, it weakens it yes.. and I never called the doctor rework a nerf, It balanced the doctor's abilities out. NO MORE was there a passive insanity build. IT became more powerful because they later came back and changed how much insanity was inflicted, but they reduced it's power by allowing survivors to snap out of it. Is there more to go to balance the doc or any other killer? YES. is the killer the "POWER" roll, when the survivors aren't working at their bests and doing things that benefit each other, YES the killer is. this DS rework removes invincibility and stops survivors from relying on this. if you aren't tunneled then this change isn't a problem. if you are then you need to not work on a gen just yet. they left locker tech in and that's a big contention that even I don't like but I'll accept it. I remember this DS change and when it came out I was barely into the game and I KNEW the change was powerful. it ramped things up and then they changed it even more by making it the only obsession perk that existed to randomize the obsession. so now the killer didn't know who it was that had it. you don't hear killer mains complaining about that anymore.... so you assertion that 90% of the community knowledge is equal to zero is very skewed. I would drop that percentage to 75% or so because you are correct many in the community don't examine how things work but in my experience if I were to take into account what I read here on the forums (a very much minority of all players) and those I know I'd say it's about 50% that don't know what is going on with the game. So I'll accept that there is about 75% of the community that can't be arsed to know how things really work.
killers and survivors will complain about anything, You will see those that will complain about what tech is left to the survivors with DS. that is locker tech, chest tech and DS/UB. which they are already continuing to make waves. they did not stop the interaction of UB/SG/NM that lets you get up if you get slugged but they did make the majority of the changes that most of the community I know which is a few fog whispers, dbd streamers, and friends and acquaintances have asked for for a long time now. IS there some fine tuning still to be done? yes but of all the reductions the killers have seen in the last 1.5 years is amazing and in that time survivors weren't truly touched or just a token touch was done. tool boxes didn't do much to change things till they tweeked the change they did to include 2.5 second sabo. Then they gave saboteur a cool down, just like in killer perks and survivors to this day cry about the cool down and how it's unfair yet that's very common for killer perks.
-
first idea I could get behind for perks..
second one is crap. leave that the way it is. once you get every character up to 50 and all rank 3 perks you'll get bored and stop playing till the next survivor comes out.
sure i'll get behind spending 1 million blood points to pick one perk you don't have! that's a good one!
-
this is soooo funny.... when i'm killer i am always surprised by bloodlust kicking in. I will use what the game gives me but i very rarely intend to use blood lust!

@ukenicky said:
Killers won't stop complaining about it until it's rendered 100% useless.
As you can see they want it to deactivate on interacting with lockers lol
Y'all really just want to tunnel and have DS be totally useless huh
Personally I can't wait to see if picking yourself up with Unbreakable/Soul Guard counts as healing (It should, 1 health state) and deactivates it. If so DS Unbreakable is officially.. Not a thing anymore? Which would be huge.
I'm happy with these changes but killer mains need to chill. I know you want survivors to having literally everything nerfed to the point that they have a hard time but it's getting there. Will you still complain and argue for more nerfs even once keys get reworked and all the problem perks are addressed? (Probably)
@Freddy96 said:
Good change but all the killer mains will keep crying about it. Now ds force survivors to use it in a way more offensive way because they cant do else.
Good change tho one less excuse for killers to complain
they accept this, but survivor mains continue to complain about bbq, and noed and everything... so you both are being hypocrites in your thought processes. Most killer mains are loving these ideas and accept them even with the fact some things happen. you survivor mains had NOED to contend without having a totem and complained, then when totems were introduced, noed was placed on a totem giving survivors a CHANCE to block NOED and now you're complaining that it's unfair because you can't find NOED's totem!!! or you can't be arsed to take 5 totems down AS A TEAM because it's all about get gens done, match done in 5 minutes and then you wait 10 minutes for another 5 minute match! WEEEEE that's fun!
Honestly killers are doing just what survivors do, they are saying they wish the nerf went further just like survivors still do about the now deathhook mori (I keep seeing survivor mains say "JUST TAKE MORI OUT!!!" it doesn't reward good play and keys require work) so yea you can complain all you want you are wrong killer mains are cheering if this actually hits live!

Its an amazing change it just needs to also deactivate on locker interaction to both get rid of "locker tech" and to make it so inner strength can't bypass its self healing deactivation condition.
honestly I would accept that it stays active while inner strength heals you and then after you are healed ds drops. I agree locker tech shouldn't be there imho.

The o0o change isnt final yet but you do realize that every 30 seconds after bbq the survivor will see your aura?
Thats what i am getting from the perk
I think the numbers should be reversed on Object. at object 1 every 30 seconds, and object 3 every 40.... though i think even 40 is too soon... dunno but the lower numbers in this case should be the rank 1 not rank 3. this would be great if it was a KILLER perk. though the view ONLY happens if you happen to be the obsession. kinda like what they did to allow multiple people to have DS in a match and not be penalized just because your were the obsession.

resolutions are majorly different. have you taken that into consideration???

While this is incredibly greedy and scummy, I'll put it simply, I'd be fine with them doing so... if they were to re-color them.
At this point, is there any point in the rift pass? Except for the small portion of players who can enjoy this game long enough (in which case they can do it to save money), there is no point in buying the rift pass. It's grindy as hell and has less tiers than other battle passes. It is actually the worse form of a battle pass I have ever seen, it's so surprising to me to see that fortnite actually did it better despite the concept of battle passes being unpopular at the time. You would see less tiers and think it's more casual friendly, but it instead requires more of your time to get less rewards.
To get back on topic, the devs then go along and put the cosmetics in the store, removing the one main attraction of battle pass cosmetics, that they're exclusive and you have to work for them. Especially with the first rift which was mostly re-skins and other trash cosmetics that you'd never use with double the grind to get them. The very least the devs could do is re-color the skins before putting them in the shop. I hate fortnite, I don't like the br genre and I especially don't like the building but I can still acknowledge that those greedy devs who charged $20 for a skin where still more respectful towards their fanbase than the devs of dbd are. Sure they may make just female tier 100 skins but they never put the originals in the shop.
What's more, with the skeleton trooper they actually made an exclusive version for the players that bought him originally, so both parties where happy. The devs made extra money by selling him again and the players could still expressive that they bought him first. I'm just using fortnite to compare how scummy the devs are in their decisions.
first of all, if you don't get close to tier 70 the pass isn't worth it at all. If you do get to 70 then use 1000 cells to get it, and blammo you get your 1000 cells right back!!!! AND then you don't have to use iri shards or cells for EACH of the outfits there... so it's still worth it if you are able to get CLOSE to tier 70 and that's because it ends up costing you nothing, so far in the 5 tomes i've hit 70 5 times and gotten 1000 cells back 6 times. for 10 bucks i have 10 divided by 6. that's less than 2 dollars for 1000 cells, or 10 bucks for 6000 cells so Yea that's worth it.
@EvilJoshy said:
It's actually common practice. Stuff that can only be unlocked by grinding is put in the store eventually. It's so the people who missed out can get it and the devs can make even more $$$. Which is why I don't like battle passes. You play your heart out for something. Once you get it you don't wanna play the game anymore and a few months later it can be bought in the store. Making all your effort wasted.
but I know that I did the work to get it without paying for it! that's worth it for me. someone says hey look what I spent 10 bucks on! I say, yea I got that already.... and X, and Y, and Z.... hehehe

The main concept of the perk rework is mostly set it stone. I’ve notice the changes to ds mentioned nothing about locker hopping with ds so they might add that while still keeping the changes they’re making but who knows.
they've had perk reworks and said that things may change or it might not even get to the live servers and they never did and people said the changes were set in stone. I'm not saying they won't, but it might not be what we see here or at all who knows.

I don’t know why it’s become a thing. Body shaming isn’t okay in any sense. Calling the way people play “small pp/big pp” and calling the open areas between trees that you can’t walk through “fat shaming” is actually body shaming all around. Can we start using other terminology to describe things?
for one, these terms you bring up are not used as personal shaming. "the trees fat shamed me" is speaking of a spot that you should have been able to go through visually but you couldn't is talking about things in game not the idea that the player was fat shamed. the small pp/big pp comments is the same as "are you compensating for something?" people use these terms not to talk about a person's body but the manner in which a person comports themselves OR only in game terms.

I was the solo rank 1
thought as much, i wish we knew more how the match making works than a very vague "IF you are waiting a long time the game starts opening up the matching window to find you a game asap" to "If you are waiting 5 minutes the game opens up another + or - 1 rank and every X minutes after it will happen again." :)
-
a SWF and a long wait time for a match where it opens up the window. rank 10 is matched normally with rank 4 to 16. so it's not much of a stretch to get the 17-20 ranks if in a swf, and the rank 1 probably a solo that has waited a while for a match but again not too hard to see that 3 ranks would put them in the rank window for matching.

Since we got a mori nerf are we gonna see a key nerf soon? Have had three games tonight where the game gets to 1 Gen left and 1 kill with most players on hook 2 and the final three key immediately. Super frustrating to have a game going well and being well balanced only to end that way.
With their track record of things keys won't be done till more people stop playing and paying for the game. I'm not saying people need to do this but that's what I feel it will take them to notice they've hurt the community and to do what they say. It's just how I feel, and it's not good either.
-
IT is correct, they do listen, and they make their own decisions about what they want to do. What the devs do not do, is communicate in an open and equitable way with the community. They also do not do what it takes to maintain the health of the game to be honest they do the bare minimum. The UI change was tested for what a week to a huge amount of verbal dislike. the color of the ui is horrendous even for non-color blind people. What we get is, we are setting this up so that we can set something else up later so you won't have to deal with it for long before something else comes out. This is horse manure. it is spreading the ui around and cluttering up the screen with unnecessary items. Perhaps this is GREAT for the switch and I will grant that, but it is not good for a 32 inch monitor. I have to run my eyes around the monitor that takes time away from concentrating on the center screen. having the UI at the bottom and be minimalistic is GREAT on larger monitors as it has everything right there for you to see at a quick glance. The hook counter makes no sense unless it's a hook per survivor and that would give WAY too much information for the killer AND survivor both.
There is a great deal that I see at this point that is going to go wrong soon and it's going to implode in a way no nuclear weapon ever was designed to do so! they will run out of new "IDEAS" you can already see that with some of the new perks coming out. felix has upgraded dejavu. Now you will see felix's perk used unless 1) the person doesn't own felix/gotten the perk from shrine or 2) specific challenge calls for it. and this is what will push what remains in the game out because it'll have truly gotten stale. 4 killer releases a year, this is too much should be 3 per year with one removed every so often to address issues that are known bugs and QOL updates.
Another thing that needs to happen is an incentive to be on the PTB and more than a WEEK of testing for things... heck some things are 3 days only which precludes anyone with a family and 40 hour work week. So there is a good deal that the devs can do to fix this but they need to take the time and look at it from a player satisfaction and game health update instead of we need to release the next chapter so we can get paid more and more and more. the release of the twins in the horrendous state they came out in shows that the bean counters rule the release, and when that is the case the devs are blamed and people loose faith in their ability to get things done. in 1990-2000's you could get away with something like that (look to what Everquest did!!!) but now in this connected age it isn't easy to keep people happy anymore.

It's not real life, it is a video game.
I get how the emblem system works, and how it rewards different things. But all those things are in service of killing the survivors, or escaping depending on the role. I think it's positively dumb that the game is structured in such a way that you can succeed at your main goal and still get penalized. I realize that this guy safety pipped so he's really just treading water here, but if you are killing the majority of survivors and not ranking up -- especially at this green rank in the screenshots -- yeah, that just feels awful.
I get a "oh, great, well thanks for nothing" feeling when, say, I escape as a survivor and de-pip (usually because the killer was AFK or something that prohibited diverse point scoring events). The emblem system ain't right, and it really should reward players more clearly for accomplishing their primary goals.
many other video games require you to do things that are outside of your main goal and it's accepted. the point is the system rewards you for doing more than the minimum. do the minimum you might or might not loose "RANK" do MORE and you will be rewarded. it is how the game is structured right now and guess what it's not real life but it is set up this way. I gave you an example.... here have a NOT REAL LIFE example: Mass Effect (first one) if you maximize your RENEGADE score you will get extra missions that you won't if you maximize your PARAGON score... And you can still boink the girl you are going after even if you are a dick to others, and even then it doesn't matter if you tell your bosses to go jump off the nearest space station or what not and you are still afforded the status you have with them instead of them slapping you down by stripping you of your rank and status because you're a fucktard that has issues.
HOPE you enjoyed your NOT REAL LIFE example of what the emblem system is. and if you come back and say this isn't a single player game like mass effect I'm going to come back at you with the following argument: "You do not understand the rules are set down by the devs and this is one of them. don't like them? keep moving on." I even said there needs to be a rework of the emblem system.... and you yell at me because you don't consider this real life? wow.... examples are great to SHOW how things work but when you want specific style examples you are hurting for a reason to keep playing a game.
-
@Rydog said:
Dude got 3 kills, that should equal a pip in any reasonable game no matter what your rank is. The emblem system is so dumb.
just because you get three kills doesn't mean you should rank up. the point of the emblems is to make sure the effort is not done in one or two areas but in all areas. do you let a cop rank up because he caught three robbers in a bank but only after letting them kill 3 innocents because he was slow on the uptake? no you don't, you talk with him, help him train harder and better and maybe next time he'll save the 3 innocents and take down the 3 robbers. that's what the emblem system is, it's a way to make sure you don't just put all your eggs in one basket. HOWEVER the system is flawed and needs work done on it, what I do not know but I think something needs to be done.

These 3 perks completely shut down slugging. Still don't know why people aren't running WGLF. If more people ran this perk slugging wouldn't ever be a viable strategy.
the first one you put up is we're going to live forever, are you referring to it's extra speed in others healing the one on the ground? or did you mean no mither that lets you get up without anyone?

Why shoud they have the same treatment? It's a 4vs1 game, 16 perks versus 4.
Anyways, that's not a good ideia.
i just said that they will complain about it and on and on because they aren't equal to the killer... there are threads where survivors want to be better than the killer 1 v 1 !!!! That's all I was saying, because the way we have it killers have the edge because in a 1v1 situation killers are more powerful, in a coordinated 4 v 1 the survivors are more powerful.
killers are faster, killers don't get slowed when dropping from heights, killers are slowed vaulting but killers don't have to vault normally. survivors are at the disadvantage when they are alone or focused down. GOOD ones on the other hand are at less of a disadvantage but thats because they know loops better and how to use their smaller hitbox etc.

Now we are getting somewhere. See, it’s fun to discuss new ideas. Most people just be hatin!
Do you think hexes are really that strong? Most red rank survivors hardly even touch them.
hexand exhaustion perks are just fine the way they are, they take a perk slot up, and if you don't get to use them oh well... adding them on top of other perks (4 perks + hex/exuastion) really makes things skewed. no it wouldn't be fun either way. this is not an idea that is anything but if you want go ahead and put it in the feedback/suggestions and see how fast it gets shot down.

@JediWithASniper said:
I’ve mentioned this in a few threads, but never put up a post about it. I feel like hexes need a massive overhaul, and I don’t really care which ones get buffed or nerfed, except to say that most hexes are extraordinarily weak. (I am a survivor main) I propose the following changes need to be made so that the Hexes become a more enjoyable part of the game for both killers and survivors.
- Eliminate Hexes from the blood web.
- Each killer should come with two new hexes.
- All Hexes are at their max tier, (like in the bloodweb) and do not need to be leveled like perks.
- Each killer may equip two Hexes along with their regular number of perks.
- All Hexes (of owned killers) are immediately available to all of your owned killers. (If you purchase a new killer, it unlocks their two hexes for the rest of your killers.)
well that's just a great way to get the survivors whining that they dont' get the same treatment as killers... it's a bad idea honestly... it's better the way we have it now.

Not correct. I had problems with my PS5 at first. Tweaked router settings and relocated PS as it had a high WiFi db. I was dropping and DC constantly and I never got more than 5 minutes. There’s gotta be something more going on like rage quitting and a lot of them. Get your WiFi game up then you can get your game up.
not true? really? the devs said it increased the more you dc..... if you got no more than 5 minutes every time and it doesn't ramp up, how the hell does that guy get 30 minutes??? is it fixed for each person oh person A gets 30 minutes, person B gets 5, person C gets 1 hour???/ that's crazy. it can't be 30 minutes every time, can't be 5 minutes every time according to what the devs and others say.

This is the case: I play dbd in the nintendo switch and whenever a play killer my game froze and disconnect me from the game saying it's an 'internet problem' but I know thats not the case. I'm getting ban for 30min every time and its not my fault (meaning intentional disconnect) or my internet connection.
first disconnect is 5 minutes, second is 10 minutes, third is 15 minutes. I think fourth is 30 minutes. you do not get a 30 min penalty for each disconnect. obviously you disconnect a good deal, i'm sorry your switch is bugging out but perhaps you should look for the reasons you're disconnecting and fix those and report when you get a disconnect from game freezing or messing up. best have evidence of the issue though.

Let’s be honest, they make playing killer a horrible experience. They hide throughout the entire game and are the ones to Tbag at the exit gates. Like, bro you just hid the whole game.
As when playing survivor, they are the worst as well. They will save in front of the killer without borrowed time and don’t even bother taking a hit. This encourages killers to tunnel. The killer ends up finding a survivor that has been unhooked recently and this leads to tunneling because they can’t find no one else and Stealthy survivors don’t bother taking the agro.
Don’t get me wrong, it can be a good method to get away from the killer but playing like this is fun? The Devs should definitely consider making a perk for survivors that have not been seen by the killer, have their aura revealed.
What are your guys thoughts on stealthy players?
what is ruining this game is people like you telling people like me how to play. I have various play styles depending on what perks i'm running, what survivor I'm playing and what killer I'm going against. I'll self-care to keep people on gens, but if someone comes up to me i'll stop selfcare so they can heal me. and before you say self care takes up too much time look at it this way: 1) self-care is 50% (rank 3) speed of someone else healing or using a brown medkit. 2) the next bit will have numbers assumed, they are not for debate as they are not the specific numbers for anything and if they are I got lucky.
Now normal healing takes 16 seconds, this means self care takes 32 seconds. so if I'm hurt and someone breaks off a gen to heal me they have 5 seconds getting to me from the gen, then 16 seconds healing me then 5 seconds to get back to the gen. this means that gen is not being worked on for 26 seconds. that's 6 seconds shorter than self-care. I think it's a wash in general either way.
People will say selfcare takes too long, well that is fine, if you don't like it don't use it. Same thing with stealth, there are ways to play and your way is not the only way. i've stealthed around and completed 3 gens in the time it took 2 others to do TWO gens and the killer was afk the first two gens. so you play your way and I'll play my way. and YES I've even stealthed at high level play and guess what... we ALL GOT OUT. because in that one i did 2 gens, healed 5 health states, played distraction for the killer to get people out of chases but did not get in a chase. I didn't care.... my rank doesn't matter to me but i still contribute and you telling me how to play is great if you're giving me a pointer because I asked it of you, if you're telling me because you didn't like how I specifically played, well then that's a case of STFU because I have my own way of playing.

It's enough to know how a #$%ing Key works.
let me get this straight? you have 229 hours and you know what was there at the start of the game in 2016? more than people that have 1000's of hours in the game? something doesn't add up, sure you might know how a key works but I'm doubting your knowledge about the devs and the beginning of the game.

Is that why lullaby is getting a buff with undying essentially?
quit this nonsense whining
lullaby is not changing what so ever, not being buffed from it's nerfed form where it doesn't affect all skill checks as it said it did before. in fact if you think that lullaby is being buffed by another perk being nerfed that's fine then lullaby's nerf buffed DS, healing, madness escapes and perhaps even several other skill checks that would have been affected by it so that's a huge NERF to a minor buff. the "buff" from undying is nothing more than undying's change and though it affects lullaby, you can not say that lullaby is getting a buff at all since it is not changing.

Instant? You need to finish 5 gens for an "instant" 4-man escape.
Sheesh.
When it was introduced the hatch appeared when the SECOND GEN was completed. keys were put in because the hatch was put in. gives a quick end to a match that survivors don't want to be in. killers never get a quick end mori's were the only way, and still they had to catch the survivors and down them even at original mori you'd get 2 gens done long before more than one was killed by mori then hatch was available.

Would actually be a nice way for people who haven't gotten around to it or are new to try out other Killers and see who they want to buy first.
So there is a reason lol
Great place to do that, where there isn't even a small bit of trying to match people properly, and such a lower player base and it only opens up for 3 days to 1 week every 1.5 months? not a good way to do that to be honest.

Why does the PTB restrict access to killers/survivors and such? The point of a PTB is to test new updates, and with the PTB not being up 100% of the time. I don't see why they wouldn't have everything unlocked(To specify i mean KILLERS unlocked. Not bloodweb related things) so more people can actually test the coming updates? Many other games do this as well since their PTB isn't up all the time so its not like people can just play on the PTB permanently to circumvent actually getting the characters and such themselves.
Was just curious if there was a proper reasoning behind this/the potential for it to be changed since logically there is little to no reason.
the ptb uses your account information to determine what you have access too. so if you don't have lori but have unlocked DS from the shrine you get DS but not laurie. so it's just simple to copy the accounts over to the ptb instead of having anything special going on. the PTB is updated then the accounts are copied over and then the ptb is launched on steam. this is why it's like that, much simpler to do and give you the access, they do however take the extra step to unlock the new survivor/killer when a dlc is coming out. why do need to play freddy if you didn't buy him on the real servers? none...

I've been wondering lately about how effective going out of your way to cleanse all 5 totems in a match is. I'm not really trying to start any sort of NOED argument or anything of that nature, but more often than not, especially when I play solo queue, I find that unless I run Detective's Hunch and, given the opportunity, cleanse all 5 totems myself, totems rarely get cleansed outside of hexes. I can understand the 4 man SWF sort of approach, but a solo survivor or duo won't likely be able to do every one. 9/10 times, if I see a totem, I do a totem, that how I play, and that's how I always play, but I came across a survivor today who couldn't understand why we'd cleanse totems when ruin was gone, and insisted it's useless. Do any of you feel like cleansing totems is useless outside of visible Hex perks (Ruin/Undying/Devour Hope/Huntress Lullaby etc)?
You don't hunt all 5 totems every match yourself, you are a "TEAM" people keep saying this, doesn't matter if you are all on a 4 man swf or all solos. some of you take totems out and others do gens then you swap. run to a gen! hey there is a totem here let me take it down. OH there is a nasty hiding spot for a totem! oh yea it's lit lets take it down! you do that, do gens, rescues what not. IF NOED is triggered it's not one person's fault! it's EVERYONE's fault for not PAYING attention. the term DO BONES is not singular in target but for everyone that doesn't. with 4 people, everyone takes one totem down it adds 12-15 seconds to your time to do a gen. one person does a second and all 5 are done! Easy peasy! don't worry too much... I ran today with the mission of getting 20 totems down (challenge). on hawkin's lab I ran a hallway, and there were 3 totems in a line. i had just taken one down up near the solo achievement gen then dropped down and followed small game down a hallway and I had 4 of the 5 totems down in about 1.5 minutes. yes that is lucky but sometimes it's like that.
"DO BONES" doesn't say drop everything and take em all down! just do them as you see them and maybe you'll have all 5 down and noed doesn't trigger, devour doesn't get more than 1 or 2 tokens... same with lullaby... this is the problem, people don't think more than hey lets get this match done in 6 minutes and move on to the next.... it's a sad state, and one born of lethargy and lazyness after years of playing.

Thats vague.
you see each killer has feedback to feel me what they are doing so I can try my best to counteract what they are doing e.g billy backreving get ready to juke or doctor shock prepare for it
spirit doesn’t do this
like i said you will have to use your play style and adjust. if you don't want to do stealth then you need to find what works for you. no one here can tell you anything more than what they do against these killers and several have better suggestions than I could ever come up with

i'm sorry you find it like that but that doesn't change the fact that people like to run it as it helps in the match. it isn't broken at all, it's just harder to counter. there are tells for it as well so you can adjust your play style if you pay attention to it.

Depends as I like to change it up mostly do healing builds with second or autodidact though
realize what you encounter is not the same as what that killer player encounters. it's easy to loose sight of that fact. lots of different issues and people out there some just rely on the ole standby.

Maybe so, But when i know ivr lost i attempt to get as many bps as possible. I respect not moving or whatever but if im gonna lose im gonna make the most of it.
again you just confirmed exactly what I said, they were making the most of it, if they have gone the whole match and barely any hooks, and finally has one and you've got 3 people working on gens or even 2 and 1 gen left sure secure the kill and let others go. that's a valid strat, it's not throwing a game when you know it's lost. It's called cutting your losses and making sure you get something.

So mmr concerns me, if been playing since release so my knowledge and skill are pretty high as both roles but if the people I verse/have on my team are my skill wont it be boring and bland? I'm not going to see weaker killers, just the 3 odd top tier ones and when playing killer you'll just see the meta always used on everyone. Honestly if this ends up being true I'll just quit, I play because of the range of killers and perks, without that its going to get boring fast
I honestly don't think there will be an MMR, I also believe the last time they released the MMR I saw so many matches go to inexperienced killers vs experienced survivors or vice versa. I think they just turned off match making for that time and with the radio silence about it once again (actually it's less talk about it) I don't have high expectations.

Look I understand if you main spirit. She has a cool design and intriguing power but please for the love of everyone’s sanity don’t use stridor.
This is the one time playing survivor where what I do doesn’t matter. I could do any mind game and be outplayed because this guy has a perk.
its worse when spirits who clearly don’t need it still run it. It’s training wheels for an already fairly easy killer.
Its pretty much old tinkerer except it only works well on one killer
Even iron will can’t save you from this #########
i had to slog through three of these today and honestly felt like uninstalling. How do they want to nerf Freddy before this?
what perks do you play? iron will? BT? DS? UB? SC? those are boring to play against too in one way or another. you can always find something to complain about but you have to look at how you play as well before you complain because if you are playing how the other side does not like or complains about then you have your answer why it's played.

Honestly i play killer. so this is not me being mad or salty about it because I don't care to escape. BUT.... If killer upsets you to the point where you throw he game to face camp a survivor why even play killer? I am just curious. I wouldn't play killer if it upset me that much to the point where I had to try and ruin an experience for someone else. Again this doesn't bother me i actually AM compiling clips of all the face camping killers i pull when playing survivor to put together a compilation of me getting bmd after a mini chase. But seriously why play killer if it upsets you that much?
Perhaps he knew the game was over and wanted to secure one kill? i've up and stopped moving when I know the game is over but the game just has to catch up to what I already know. I literally go to the door, wait for the last gen to be done, open the door (telling them GET OUT) and then go find the hatch. or if i've killed one person or one person dc'd at some point I find the hatch with one gen left then move to the door to open it after the last gen is done.

Did you not read what I said? The survivor and killer watched the hook together? Survivor pulled me, killer hooked me through all phases.
You do you. I'm just saying, if you KNOW it's a bad idea and either you or I will be downed right after, don't do it. My opinion, you're free to yours.
you have no proof they were working together and that is NOT proof "THE SURVIVOR AND KILLER WATCHED THE HOOK TOGETHER" there are a great many times things go wrong.. if you think you have a case take it to the devs with your proof, they will make the decision. you're preaching to the choir here. But my comments stand and are valid no matter what you say, why? because you still know not what is going on. I bet you didn't report it, I'd bet you didn't create a ticket with evidence to back your claim up. and the only one that can get in trouble for it is the survivor, not the killer.

During the day time, this could be 5 seconds. During the night time it could be 10 minutes, maybe close to 7 on average.
For killers in my geo location, the queue is almost always instant, no more than 10 sec for the next lobby.
This is exactly what I'm saying where I am I always see a very short period, usually less than an minute. as a survivor if a killer dodges the lobby i almost never see more than a minute go bye without a killer there. I have seen several streamers have very few issues getting a killer lobby and that is my experience as well
-
@Dwigtht said:
Dodge the lobby! Let them wait for another 10 minutes!
they won't wait 10 more minutes. they will get the next killer which right now is about 1 minute max if not 5 seconds. and if you dodge and quickly get back into waiting you MIGHT get them again lol.
-
Save and get yelled at.... don't save and get yelled at.... can't not be yelled at... "why didn't you unhook me????!!!!" "he was camping you!" "still should have pulled me!" "Why did you unhook me?" "I didn't see him right there" "You still unhooked me unsafely!"
get it from both sides TYVM! I will do what I think is best, but this is not working with the killer if they "FARM" you, and unless you have more evidence than just an unsafe unhook nothing will happen with a report.... working with the killer is generally leading the killer to other survivors, repeatedly opening a locker with a survivor in it etc... just an unsafe unhook is not working with the killer
