If the new hud was just for switch, they would've given it the hud in the mobile app.
I said it works best for the switch, I didn't say it was just for the switch.

lol i was in a match and a survivor shown a flashlight away from me and I got blinded. SEVERAL times.

Ok, I know you are probably thinking "You are just cashing in on the state of the game" or "You are just exaggerating", to that I say, no.
This game truly has a great concept, it really does, and I honestly feel like DbD could bring me back, but right now, I'm taking a break.
The main reason I'm doing this is because
A: The devs need to pay more attention to the community.
Ok, I've made an entire conversation about how the devs really should look into concepts from the community, and while I still stand strong, that is not what I'm asking right now. The game is heavily unbalanced. There are so many things that need nerfs or buffs, and while they have fixed this with moris and clown changes, it still feels like the game is just... broken.
No one asked for a new HUD, I really do not know a single person who thought the old on was outdated, there was no reason to update it. I understand QoL changes, but honestly, its even more difficult ult with a new HUD, you have to look all around your screen to find the info you need. But this is a ramble that is getting off topic.
The devs are good at their job, DbD is a great concept, and is executed fairly well, but they will not listen to their community.
The second reason is
B: The ranking system
I could ramble about this all day. Adding rank rewards does not fix the system, all it does is provide a use for ranking up. The system itself is way too easy.
I hate to do this, but compared to a game like Leauge of Legends, who has a ranking system that makes sense and I adore, DbD is literally "Play the game alot". Leauge has a massive skill reliance when it comes to ranking up. Someone can just run around and do nothing, except maybe get chased once or twice, and still rank up.
The last reason I'm leaving is
C: Give Fnaf chapter
Self explanatory.
Anyway, those are the main reason why I'm taking a break. In no way am I leaving permanently, I am just tired of it at the moment. Happy gaming!
The new hud is to make it easier for people on the switch... on monitors and tvs though it's too spread out still don't know why they changed it, but just because no one asked for a ui change that you know of, there may be something else they are working on that is allowing and requiring a change. the look of injured vs uninjured is crap yes and color blind people will have an issue with this. still there is a chance this ui will be better and controlable but not holding my breath on this.
Your FNAF comments.. you got the bunny suits from that so stick that comment.
the "RANK" system is soon to not be part of match making if they can pull off an MMR correctly per killer... but i doubt it will work well.

Someone asked the same thing. I explained myself further in the comments.
so? you did not give an acceptable answer. The your point was that they need to hire MORE people. this may not be something that is possible. You also do not know what the sizes of the teams are. my guess is that there is a few people in the graphics design (4-5 people my guess) and then the design team is probably 15? I don't know just a guess on the numbers I could be wrong but i'd say the design team is at minimum already 2 times the cosmetics team because they need more people. You need to step away from the controlling bone and realize you have no control over them. they are at a good point right now, better than they have in the past few years, so yea I think they are good. Just because your wants don't get dealt with the way you want, doesn't mean they aren't working on things. I am honestly tired of hearing people say they know what's better for the game when they may have only 100-200 match experience in a few days when they have 1000s of match data every day and people here think they know more information than the company. I laugh at people like you.

I Will apologise as well it felt from your post that you were basically saying that cosole players didnt deserve the chat, because they wont have keyboards and will type too slow which is where the pc superiority comment came from.
I also dont care what people are playing on but social interaction about a game you enjoy should be an option for everyone. Some people will be toxic asshats no matter what platform they are on. I get toxic messages from pepple on console all the time but sometimes ive also got good tips that helped me play better, which is also why i jump over to twitch to chat with streamers i play against, which would be easier if the game chat was there.
oh i agree sometimes it's great to talk with people after! and as long as it's not you ######### up you twit type of talk i think it'd be great. I had just said that's more than likely why in 2016 they did not include end game chat on console because they didn't expect console to even care to chat just play again and again. i've played with console and people on the SWITCH that are damn good and also some that are real potatoes. I love it when people come into my channel and chat some. but i've also had people do that and jump in my discord and start playing clips that used the n word... i stopped them from broadcasting live and what not but still it's not always a good thing.

Scratched Mirror gives extra BPs on Brutality and Deviouness so you dont lose BPs from regular Myers builds, 24k is around what you usually get with a Mirror build if you dont prolong the trial artificially and kill all 4 Survivors, which is similar to what Myers gets because how his toolkit works by bypassing a lot of score events, I was clarifying why Myers get less BPs than other Killers idepently of build.
as i said i wasn't disapointed with the amount of bps i got, i was just surprised that i got 4 iri emblems, that's all and it also showed that you can get 4 iri emblems without having a perfect 32K score.

I didnt even quote the post your referring to i quoted the one about being inconsiderate and berating other people. My point was I dont do that i want to talk to people after a game so i can get better if you dont wanna stick around fine dont but some people will because they care about the health of the game and will offer help to newer players who aren't being dicks.
Your right the devs decided not to add it but the keyboard arguement is weak because some people do have keyboards or chatpads on controllers that allow for efficient chat.
Sounds to me youve got a little bit of that pc superiority showing through your post
I don't give a damn who has a console or a pc. i thought you were the op responding to me and I responded as such in reference to your comments. I'm sorry I made a mistake. still if you want to berate someone for being on a pc vice your console because you "FEEL" there is a bit of superiority there then you are pushing the toxicity you say you are not. I spoke of facts, you read into it as if I was 1) on pc a fact I never dissclosed and you assumed but that was a correct assumption I am on a pc. 2) being a person that would say i'm superior to others because of their equipment which I am not.
To me a console will be inferior to a pc only because it can not be upgraded with a new bit of equipment (no new video card etc) and that is where the pc superiority ends over console now days.

Im not toxic im a newer player as it is i will sometimes jump into pepples twitch streams so i can gg and chat about the game fishing for tips.
The keyboard arguement is a little weak, Rocket league has the same style post game chat and it works fine
"I would love to be able to talk to the other players after game.
Some console players are some of the most inconsiderate players I've come across, the type to sit in a locker the whole game and then grab the hatch. They need to be talked to after the game and informed they are not team players."
That is what you said the part of "They need to be talked to after the game and informed they are not team players." this is toxic because you are telling them HOW to play yet you expect not to be "TALKED TO" because you feel you are a team player etc. leave it be! LET THEM PLAY.
The "Keyboard argument" is a FACT, not weak and was not saying there can be no communication but on the console it'd be SLOW typing unless there was a physical keyboard involved. i'm not going to wait around on an end screen for someone to use hunt and peck typing that is espoused by the on screen keyboards. thus why they didn't include a chat window for the console clients and THAT right there is why there is no communication! THE DEVS DECIDED it wasn't worth it and left it off.

Nothing I'm complaining about has to do with how the game is played. It's about the randomness of acquiring your builds and the excessive amount of grind. You can choose to pretend that everything is perfect but don't get mad at me because I choose not to. I'm not telling you how to play, so kindly get off my nuts about the jackass talk.
As for the rest, nice flex?
1) I don't pretend that everything is perfect.
2) I don't believe everything is perfect.
3) you are wanting to be given things without really having to do much.
4) Why don't you design a game, code it and show these devs how it is done since you know how it is supposed to be.
5) what happens once you have all the perks on all the characters? I'll tell you what, you get to the point you feel the game is worthless till the next DLC which you snatch up no matter how broken it is, and you then spend the points to get all the perks again oh wait by then you will expect that you should just start with every perk instead of having to get them. you can't be arsed to play differently because in real life you don't get everything you assume you have to get everything in a fantasy video game.
This is why I shake my head at your opinion, your ideas make me want to quit if they take them.

if your intention is to berate anyone, attack anyone no matter the reason then i hope you never get that chance. communication cross platform is dependent upon the client used. those on pc and the microsoft store, you can talk to those on steam as the client is the same. but those on console does not have this as they do not always have a keyboard attached.
stop using bad manners! if you don't like someone's game play just ignore them and move on. it's a game.

It doesn't matter that it's a different team. A separate team working on cosmetics are still resources that could be put into the balance team.
they are not game designer programmers, they are artists and graphics design, completely different skill set. unless you think the general programmer would have the graphics design experience to do both? possible but doubtful

Actually, that's a quite recent change. Before if you were hooked and everyone else was dead, you could still try to kobe.
you are confusing the fact that when all are unable to free themselves from the hook, the game calls the sacrifice immediately with the fact that the last remaining survivor is sacrificed immediately instead of letting them sit on the hook (unless they were on the hook when the other survivor left the match then they could stay till the next hook phase.
The post is about the former where I was talking about the latter because people are saying they should have the chance to use perks like deliverance etc. I just say give the survivors the remaining struggle points when this new system kicks in instead of cutting them short. the last survivor being immediately sacrificed (even if on first hook) has been in the game since before I started, in oct 2018.

A correctly played SM myers does well in chaser. If you hit and immedietly abandon chase its considered won
actually the chase is won as soon as the hit occurs, and another starts up so if you keep after them that could be another chase won but could take a while. this is why plague gets so many chases won because when she's making people sick each hit ends the chase to start another.

Its the problem with the scoring system, Myers only gets Devotion by stalking and to get 8k without killing everyone you practically have to drain all 4 Survivors which is very rare, you dont need so many EW3 to finish the trial, also having Exposed as his main ability bypasses 1 hit, earning him half Brutality points (at least this category can be feed by kicking stuff) and his chases are shorter thanks to Exposed and lower Terror Radius so you also get less points from chasing people around (because chases are shorter and start later).
In the end you can get 2 pips because his toolkit is decent for pipping but awful for scoring.
you can't "stalk" like you normally would with scratched mirror. normally since mikie is so slow, he can't keep chases so the chaser emblem usually isn't going to be iri. it's not unheard of but normally when you are playing a build for the first time ever like this one, it's hard to get that... and that's what was amazing by it. scoring for what I got was fair and not awful I was pleasantly surprised.

You've been conditioned into accepting the mediocrity of the bloodweb. Only in this community can you find people who will accept and defend the MMO levels of hours the devs expect from their players.
i've been conditioned to enjoy myself when i play a game. I enjoy trying to outwit the AI trying to get what I want to have. Also in this community and many others so many people complain about what they don't have and want more just given to them. it's 2021, lets actually play the game, follow the rules, accept the rules and stop being jackasses to those that like to do this. i have played games long before you probably were born. I have played games long before the internet. I had to accept the rules set down by the games designers for a great many years. I do not suffer people like you either because I've seen so many people just want the game given to them instead of actually doing it as is. if you don't like it then find something else you like and go to it. I like the game in general and i find no issue with how it is done to give the items, perks and offerings what so ever.

According to steam I have 881 hours in DBD I have 1 P3 survivor with all perks, another survivor with all survivor perks but on killer side I only have Hag & Spirit with 'close' to all perks. (neither prestiged). Other killers aren't even close, and my other survivors are lvl 30-40ish.
How did you prestige all your killers twice and get all the perks on them??
blood point offerings, blood point events, lots of different ways to do this.
@Negi said:
This might have worked back in 2017 and 2018 when the pool wasn't oversaturated with perks but it's 2021 now. You expect players to do this for every character they want to play and pray for better RNG from this pseudo lootbox style system? It needs an overhaul because this is ridiculous.
Shoutout to Shrine of Secrets for still only having 4 spots in 2021.
well someone wants to be given something for nothing. here's how you get perks you want quickly: start and go towards a perk you want immediately and let the entity take 1/2 the blood web. and keep going that way till you have them, it'll be faster and use less blood points. oh don't prestige, you don't need the outfits. you complain about not having enough time and how much of a grind it is... here let's change it up instead of random perks you'll be given perks that are offered by ascending alphabetical order TILL you get tier 3 on each. no just do it and get it over with, i'm tired of hearing this complaint as it is unfounded and baseless.

@BioX said:
look I get it, but think about it, what will happen if a survivor cant let themselve die on the hook?
they will get unhooked and just stand there, they will go afk, get a cup of tea or something, wont fix the game either.
its more important to fix as best you can why people decide to dip out
you can not fix what you are suggesting they fix. you are saying without saying the following "I want them to fix the people who tunnel and slug and camp" this can not be fixed because it is a play style choice that you do not like but your choice of what you like or do not like for the killer is irrelevant because these things you do not like is allowed by the game rules. IF you use the in match functionality of to leave the match that's fine. I personally think they should give a way for the killers to give up the match and stop wasting everyone's time, like call of duty has a hold <x> to give up when you are on the ground
-
@Marigoria said:
They could at least let me try to kobe if everyone else dies and I'm on my first hook. Specially if I have deliverance active.
no this has been complained about since before deliverance. they did not want the killer just having to stand there for the time it takes you to attempt to get off the hook or just sit there. I agree with this. becuase it could be used by the survivor to grief the killer and if the killer leave and they have deliverance then the survivor is off and running and the killer looses that kill. no i agree with them on the fact that the very last survivor is automatically sac'd.
@SilentPill said:
No thanks, I don’t want to sit around for 2 minutes waiting for some survivor to die so they can get 500 points.
The change to instantly kill everyone when the game was over was one of the best ones in a while.
This is the game removing multiple people from the game at one time, forcing them to loose points, up to 800+ points if it were as it were before, they 'd all get the full struggle if they wanted then the devs just said nope.... and it's a good change, all people have been asking for is the remainder of struggle points (863 (or so) - what ever they already got) be granted because the game is ending before the end of the struggle phase is over. this is nothing about staying on hook it's just hey you stopped us getting the points we would have gotten lets just balance the scales.

Because I don't want to bandaid a system that needs to be reworked. Forget those 900 points. There is more issues with hook states and the mechanics that should be addressed. It's a stupid reward, as well as unsafe unhooks.
it's not a band-aid what so ever, you can say forget those 900 points but that's a substantial amount of points in the long run of things. it's just an easy addition to the code. to the function they added in that says "IF all survivors on hook are now in the struggle phase start sacrifice stage (add this in) and add any remaining struggle points to their blood point pool." nothing of a band-aid and still keeps the game ending as they have deemed it. this will have no issue with the last survivor remaining alive gets sacrificed no matter what hook state they would be in coding what so ever. simple change, and people get that, sometimes this change they did takes off 600-700 or even 800 blood points. how about this lets change it and say the killer does not gain hook points when they hook the last survivor who is in struggle phase and does not get the sacrifice points? in this case the devs are being killer sided because they get all the points, including any staging points and the final sacrifice points which could easily add up to 1000 points or more. would you be willing to forgoe these points because the game automatically ends when you hook that final survivor ? I bet not!

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/220791/bhvr-let-us-get-our-struggle-points
This is where I hard disagree. Game needs to be OVER if no one can save you. What they need to do is get rid of the stupid Struggle mechanic in place of a system that doesn't groom players to be toxic by throwing the game or giving up... or losing to a bug/connection error where it doesn't register. Forget the pathetic 900 bloodpoints that can't even get you a brown item.
Rework struggling to not require constant button tapping because it's more annoying than engaging.
so if someone is struggling or enters into phase two causing the end of the game, it's just as easy to award full struggle points to them and still end the game right there.. there is a maximum amount of struggle points why not grant it because the game requires the end early.

What is so wired about accidental suicides in this game? I for one use a keyboard makro to struggle, and yet i sometimes die on the hook by accident, because the game didnt register or some connection were lagging.
just the IDEA of an accidental suicide... usually it's intentional... i was being glib here! I don't use a macro and even with carpal tunnel it doesn't hurt becuase i don't slam my space bar nor do i hit it fast. i keep with a rhythm and hit it only enough to register and i rarely miss unless i get distracted.

This is literally the most annoying thing of all time. The Devs meed to figure something out cuz this is complete bullshit. I cant rank up if this ######### keeps happening. As im typing this these same three kids are just working together after the killer killed me and another survivor to let them do gens and survive.
actually the killer is working on information in the game, how ever the survivor that decides to show the killer where and harass other survivors are is who should be in trouble. The report says "WORKING with the killer" not working with the other side. there are rare cases where the killer and survivor know each other and do this, but mostly it's just the survivor that is the one breaking the rules. Perma banning these people unless they do this repeatedly is overkill. How ever as @Dimek said, have evidence and report them and let the devs handle it

🍰They just hired more programers with Unreal engine experience to tackle the bugs that been plaguing this game since day 1. 🍫 Soon™ we will finally be able to vault windows without being hit and grab survivors without freezing! 🍭
oh wow... you can program in latency discriminators then? I mean most window hits ARE latency issues, not map or engine issues. grabbing survivors also are latency issues in how the engine treats this. I'd guess the grabs can be programmed because of the freeze but window hits are pure latency issues. you can be hit easily within 1 meter of a window. perhaps you can program to take care of the upstairs window and drop immediately hits.

I don't care if he gives the killer the BBQ stack or not, my point is him suiciding on hook is no better than D/Cing and he's kidding himself if he thinks there is a difference.
it is better 1) survivors have the chance to keep working and the killer is distracted where as the killer isn't distracted if the survivor d/c's. 2) survivors have the chance for a save of their own, 3) it's not using in match functionality to d/ct but it is using in match functionality to try and get off the hook. These are all positives not negatives.

sure we'll remove button mashing, you can't try to get off of hooks, lets invalidate two perks for this. and you get to hang on the hook for two whole minutes... snoooze fest! oh and if you say lets do skill checks.. sure... miss a skill check you loose the struggle and are sac'd tothe entitiy.... so what? you want to make people play your way.... make your own game, market it and see if it sits well with people.

So you can intentionally suicide once every 30 games and it's okay then?
You literally can't build a system to detect intentionally suicides and accidental ones that won't get gamed.
The better solution would be to change struggle phase.
I just gotta say that I had to morbidly chuckle at this one "system to detect intentionally suicides and accidental ones" I know it can happen but the idea of an "ACCIDENTAL SUICIDE" is weird to hear... but I really do back you on this post you are correct in many things here THANK YOU!

If someone does it once every 30 games, it's probably an accident. If it happens every 3 games then it's a bit more obvious.
really? you sure? how much time can be before your ideas reset? so if i play one survivor game a day i can do this every day without question? what about if i play survivor then killer then survivor? will it stop because i've only played 2 survivor games within 3 games? how about I play 15 killer games, 1 survivor game and then the next day i play 2 survivor games at the start will that trigger your system? AGAIN this is IN MATCH functionality where a player can choose to do something or not, you can not penalize that otherwise will you then punish a survivor for blowing a gen too many times? can't have more than 1 missed skill check in a match! nope gotta be good at that if you miss two or more you're penalized! WOO HOO!

I swear you are absolutely oblivious to the grind which is why killers even ones that can't use it efficiently like Trapper or Plague run BBQ for the Blood points. You haven't responded to my evidence showing BBQ isn't OP. Must've realized you're wrong. And sorry you aren't good enough to somehow do the 4 counters to BBQ. By your logic we need to take away Decisive Strike because it's used so much.
it isn't OP because the view of auras are for 4 seconds and after that you don't know what is going on only a general area. the blood points are why most killers run bbq. I use it for the points and if i remember to look I might get an idea to go some where or stay where I am, the only possible op aspect is to know where three others are but if they are close by and i see nothing I have to decide did they all get into a locker or are they close by for the save? have to take a chance..... so no it isn't really op because it doesn't tell me where the survivors are, it gives a bit of info if i actually look. op? yea right. Object is so much more OP than bbq.... why? you can get 100% visual of where the killer is even when the killer isn't looking at you!

Or how a certain playstyle can be a huge difference. I dont mind tbh, i just found this funny.
pipping does not depend on the scoring. though scoring CAN indicate the chances of pipping, but if your silver emblem in gate keeping was a gold you'd have pipped. you got 12 points out of 16. this has been the way of the land since before october 2018, nothing has changed. this since the emblem system was put in it's been like this and you're surprised now? I've made a perfect 32K and still depipped! it all depends on the emblems not your points.

Apparently it could provide some kind of advantage. Which I find to be a bullcrap reason to alienate a portion of their own community.
the advantage is if it is not implemented properly. and people that are not color blind would switch to using the settings and gain the advantage, where as those that are color blind would not have the advantage but not have an issue. I don't know why they aren't doing much about it and i'd like for there not to be an issue with others over it but i don't want them to implement something just to placate the people and make it badly giving that advantage. anyways I hope you get the settings soon but i hope its put in right.

If the one Rule on this forum is that you shouldn't Witch Hunt other players.. Cept the fact that i ran into 7-8 hackers in the last TWO days. And on stream aswel. but i highly doubt if i show the clips here that the Only person punishable is me....Glorious!
When can we expect the ban wave again... the onslaught of hackers is starting to get annoying now.. (And for those that are wondering. if you dc against them.. there's a chance that you'll get hit with a Infinite Dc penalty.. so that's also fun..)
use the report and ticket system not the forums for this! if you want anything to be done you have to submit your evidence and doing it on a forum does not always get it done. how ever submitting the tickets with the proof of hacking then it will be acted on without it you let them get away with it.

Nobody want this Adept thing. And you know as a survivor you can't win the game in a 1v1 so it's only fair for the survivor to make mistakes and I don't know what you mean my q Times are insta.
my queue times are up to 10 minutes to get a match as survivor and as killer instant to 3 minutes. and i never said that a survivor is equal to killer in power what so ever. this is why there are 4 survivors and 1 killer, but say you have 40 survivors and 10 killers. 2 of those killers drop out so now it's 40 survivors and 8 killers... 8 survivors are going to be waiting for the next killer that come along or finish their games. the changes being made show the survivor bias that is out there... you can't see it because it benefits you but if you were to open your eyes and intelectually work through it. youll see it.

Dude Look at the Stats. Even low Tier Killer win almost every match, this game need more Love for survivor.
I'm a bit happy because the Devs changed undying like in one of my Ideas. But we need more so I will countine to make Ideas.
And as you said "it sucks to be camped"... So I guess the player just wasted his time LoL
the game needs more love for survivor? it's already requiring killers to be on their A game 95-100% of the time and make no mistakes. Survivors can make 100's of mistakes and still get out. to get the adept survivor you just have to walk out, killer has to get an almost perfect game. you think survivors need more love? that's laughable and I'm a survivor player! I can't tell you the number of times i've screwed up a chase, or gens and still gotten out. no this game actually needs to have survivors taken down a small bit because it's becoming more survivor sided. look at the survivor queues! they are long as hell and killer is instantaneous. this is becuase people are not playing killer anymore!

You initially disagreed with me and then finally posted a confirmation of my original post. So I think the problem is you were a bit quick to disagree when you actually agreed with me.
Today it happened again. The game loaded to only the backdrop of the fire ring and crows, so I restarted and got a dc ban. The penalties are supposed to be for folks who abuse the ability to disconnect from a trial. It is not supposed to punish players who do not dc; it currently punishes players who play (I assume) just like you. We just want to play but constantly get penalties for dcing even though we did not. I would like to see that fixed or a workable solution for those who do not disconnect and get penalized anyways.
Oh and reporting it to Behavior is a joke, they do nothing.
this is your final comment in your initial post: "Could we just make all disconnect penalties like one minute for a time until they fix the issues on the server side?" what i showed was nothing to do with behavior servers what so ever. you are saying it's their problem when i showed ONE possibility that discounts your assertion that it's their servers that are the problem and fits your stated issue. and there is nothing beyond having a huge number of people looking at all sorts of internet data and even then they can't determine if a drop was internet or intentional disconnect from network features or turning the router off. since there was wide spread abuse of the disconnect system they had to put something in and did the only thing they could. moral of the story is if you disconnect once or twice it's not an issue but if you're dcing and then get internet disconnected don't cry about it. if you're getting network dc's that often you might just want to stop playing for a while in order to make sure things stabilize instead of intentionally going on and ruining a great many people. I don't have sympathy for anyone that keeps playing after network dc's (beyond a second one)

OK seriously what is your problem with my Idea. Would it Break the Game? And no most of the time there is no counterplay for Camping. And don't forget this game should be balenced for solos too.
I'm agreeing with the OTHERS that disagree with your ideas for the same reasons as well. these ideas gives survivors more chances to get off the hook and get 4 people out EVERY match. if a killer camps it's easy street for the other survivors to get gens and totems done. it sucks getting camped but it's been mitigated by changes infavor of the survivors (AND these changes were needed). so I had nothing to add in why your ideas are bad because i agreed with the others and said so.

They can't do gens If the Killer go and stop them from doing gens.
and then the killer is not camping so problem solved. nothing added in game what so ever.
@ILoveDemo said:
We all know how stupid it feels to get camped on the Killers First Hook.
This is the Idea. A survivor right now needs 120 sec. to die on Hook...
Why not use the Hook counter for something good. If you have 1 Hook, the time for s survivor to die is 180 sec. On his 2 Hook a survivor needs 160. The 3 one takes 140. 4 needs 120 and for every other hook the time for a survivor to die Take 100 sec. That means 50 sec. on secound state.
A Killer who Camp get punished and a Killer who don't get a benefit.
Thank me later
no i curse you now because this idea is stupid. people have already shown you how it's a bad idea, now let me give you a lesson in game history. before I started playing you could only unhook when you were directly infront of the hooked survivor so killers came up with the idea they can stand there and block survivors from rescuing them. to combat this many things were tried and what made it out was that you could unhook from any direction what so ever as the hook now turned to that side to allow the unhook. this minimized face camping's effect, now add BT, and other perks you can get someone out of the hook and camp fairly easily ADD in DS and blamo you have someone off the hook.

First off only 2 keys open black locks/hatches. Second you have to actually find the hatch. Is it worth wasting a perk slot for such, nope. The hatch is what 1X1 meter. Using a map means no key. The 2 keys are fairly rare and how many have even one. Hatch Randomly spawns. Sometimes it spawns in the middle open area, sometimes it’s in some random corner. Not exactly easy to find. Killers can close the hatch. Again how many games by % does even 1 survivor open hatch with key? How often does a match start with a keyed survivor? How many keys spawn in chests? Bloodweb...
the outrage over keys is kinda funny. Oh noes one survivor keyed the hatch and got away and ruined my kill sweep, OUTRAGE. Keys are fine get gud.
her you go. you are killer, and you see a survivor with a key, two or three with tool boxes. you say damn i best equip franklin's to knock that key right out of their hand. Well survivors have wised up to that, and they drop the key in a specific location that you can't do anything about either because you can't pick it up. now still in the lobby you're prepping for a tooth and nail fight and it goes to the screen for the offerings, and suddenly you see "hatch spawns at the killer shack if there is one" and a mcmillan's map offering which all have a killer shack. so now they know where the key will be, they know where the hatch will be, and it's a race to see how many you can get down. you can pretty much guarentee some of them will have DS/UB but not all will sure but it'll be enough that more than likely one or two are getting out of the game via the hatch without completing their objectives.
You say keys are not OP? well there you go, without working 1-3 survivors can get out easily. Oh sure you know where the hatch will appear as well but you have other survivors to find, you can't just hang around the shack all match long and hope that someone will come grab the key and get out, as they get out immediately, then you close the hatch and get the doors powered as well. so yea it's OP and on my non prestieged ace I ended the blood web at level 50 and i have 15 pink keys and 10 purple keys on him. they are rare? lol that's a laugh! SUCH a LAUGH. I'm not saying mori's needed some work but what was done to them was lazy and unimaginative, as well as done quickly to placate the survivors complaining about them, yet since mori's and keys existed keys were promised many years ago to be worked on but never were while moris were changed not once, but TWICE. this isn't the first time people were looking for mori and key changes at the same time and the devs gave the same lame promise keys will be worked on soon. so honestly my expectation is that keys may be worked on in the future over 2-3 years from now if at all. make a lazy change to the keys, make it so survivors can only get out one at a time with their OWN key. this does not prevent any achievements from being gotten, but as a killer, honestly i'd rather have 4 keys in a lobby than one with a map and/or offering plus tool boxes.

Have YOU played survivor recently? They recently reworked the spawn points for totems. There are now near infinite spawn points. Finding 5 is simply TOO much. The change to undying means you need to find TWO and that is a reasonable compromise.
I could give two s* about DS as I don't run it anyway.
OMFG! you act as if you are the only one in the match! there are 4 survivors. there are 5 totems. if you pay attention you will see them. I did an experiment yesterday just to see what happens, but i worked on a gen and took down 3 totems all within the span of 3 minutes into the game. This is on the new reworked Azorov's maps where I have played only a few times so I do not know the new totem spawns yet. so if I could do a gen and 3 totems in 3 minutes (SOLO GEN) you know what would have been great? if i did one gen and 1-2 totems, along with the other survivors doing a gen and totems as they see them there would be no noed, undying, ruin, or anything else. but you know what? I was SOLO survivor doing this.... you want to talk about can't play solo games I'll tell you this, if you concentrate on gens alone you can't see the totems through the weeds is BS! You can look for them as you move around the map even while being chased you can pay attention to what is around!
If you can't do that, then you will always complain about things and that is what is happening with undying. almost 1.5-2 years of DS combined with UB being the bane of killers and being told not to tunnel when they DONT tunnel but still get hit by DS is BS... and survivors can't be ARSED to take a totem down or two when they see them next to the damn gens they are working on or in the middle of the field with nothing concealing them but no one wants to touch a totem because it takes to long so they complain. even when the devs made a dull totem 1000 blood points, and 1500 for the hex totems instead of 600 and 1000! you are the problem, not us, not those of us that are being realistic, we can see how undying can be a problem IF you let it, but DS is a problem no matter what. DS: originally reworked second time you never know WHO has DS because the game was unfair to survivors because the DS user was singled out back then because obsession perks were and are not widely used but DS however was used because of it's utility. and that's why it's a random person, because the killer knew who to leave on the ground and it was unfair. and sure i can see why it was, but you know what? undying was not unfair. two perk slots that can be deactivated by the survivors in 12 seconds each totem, and that's 1/2 your build look at DS/UB: you CHOOSE when to use them not someone else deactivating them. and that's 1/2 your OWN perks so which is more fair? choosing when you deactivate your perks or when someone else does the deactivating your perks. so yes it's a risk to run the two hex perks, but that risk was done before with thrill of the hunt and devour/noed etc.
my points ARE very valid, and your points are only valid if you are a survivor main who only cares to do gens and get the ######### out which is what you have reveiled yourself to be. DO BONES and undying isn't a problem.

It WAS and IS much needed. Finding 5 totems to cleanse is nearly impossible with how they've hidden them now. DS has a counter. Don't pick them up until it runs out. Boom. Problem solved. They will address it eventually and until then you have a solution. Undying has no workaround. Thus, it was changed FIRST. Deal.
leaving someone on the ground is not a counter when they more than likely have unbreakable. that's bs. and no one has to do all 5 totems. you are making excuses to not do things that you should in the game like always. you are the problem with this along with others. like i said play killer with undying and have someone run ds only (no other perks) see who gets more utility out of their perk! I will say it's the DS because undying doesn't give you crapola when it is alone. how could that be a problem? oh you want to add ruin there? sure.. add unbreakable to the DS, this again gives the survivor more utility out of the perks. if you need to add tinkerer and BT.... now you have survivors barely overpowering the combo... that RELYS on people not doing their secondary objectives like weenies!
-
The icons are available, but portraits seem to have been hidden inside the executable now. I think there are programs you can use to change them out but I'm worried what might happen in the long run. it will be interesting to see what is going on.

@Splinterverse said:
The undying change is much needed. They've made it much harder to find totems so having to cleanse something twice is more than enough. Four times is too much.
The change is needed? well let us look at two perks only because that is the ones that are mostly talked about here. Undying and DS. take a killer with only Undying and a survivor with only DS. who gets the most out of their perk? undying gets changed three months in because of how it synergies with other hex perks, yet DS synergies with UB and BT in more damaging ways to the game. so on it's on undying is crap, it REQUIRES something else. but DS does NOT require anything so when you take something that is crap and add something good you get something great! but you take something Great and pair it up with another something good or great you have a stupendiously OP combination that can't be countered, yet undying can, take down totems and you stop undying from working. LOL talk about idiocy, this was because survivors don't want to do anything but do gens and get out. you know what I used to report AFK killers, now I won't because I see why they do it as they won't get a good or fair shake. Yea right it was needed. DS change has been needed for over a year maybe 2 now.... someone said almost 3? dunno about that but yea... lets keep only dealing with killer related items!

You have offered one possible problem which justifies my original post and illustrates the point I was making, thank you. DC penalties are for punishing players who intentionally disconnect. It should not penalize players who live in a world with an imperfect internet structure. It would be really easy to fix. To DC you have to select "leave current trial," this is disconnecting. A player who does not dc should not be penalized.
so you now think i know how the internet works? yes it does possibly punish people for things out of their control, but what you don't take into account is the year and a half of abuse that was done and thus making this necessary. ALSO there is a ticket option on support to discuss and have them evaluate things here. problem is internet issues is rare but possible, and many times there are other issues here and one drop here usually only results in a 5-10 minute issue no sweat according to people that DC all the time like you indicate you are all in favor of. Now the thing is this type of disconnection is impossible to detect for all but the BEST automated systems. You insulted me then tell me that I illustrated YOUR position? no your position is that all the internet issues are at dbd's server and they need to fix their system and drop the penalty system which I do not support even with the possible issue i illustrated. No you can not use this on your crusade to allow people to disconnect willy nilly. I still see it but in reduced numbers so that is good. If you even took the time to learn what they have in place you'd have known you can submit a ticket to review disconnections in your case. I don't know what they can do but it's there.

If you ever receive any of these, dont get scared or anything, really.. Whoever do this is just a virgin lame frustrated kid and they can't barely smash a fly. Don't put yourself in blues mood coz of them.
this is a federal law violation. yes you can report this to both steam AND dbd for action. but you must do the right things to get it noticed:
1) take screen shots or a video clip of that section of the over all video
2) click the report section on the scoreboard screen and report them properly
3) go to the support page and submit a ticket with the required information and an action of "Additional Player report information" which allows the players to be specific and type out responses, and even submit link info or pictures.
4) relax, they can't tell you anything after you submit it so you have to accept you did your best at that point.
5) the next step is to report their steam profile.

I can tell you that it was even beneficial for the killer considering the amount of failed skill checks i got while trying to setup that """exploit"""
Also, pretty much every game that has long interaction also have a toggle feature to make it easier for people with disabilities. So i don't understand why you would have anything against it.
It's like saying colorblind mode is unfair because the killer would see survivors more easily
You're making it sound like that this was a huge exploit while instead it's a basic feature.
I said that no matter what, an unintended thing that does exactly something that others can not have is called an EXPLOIT. if it is big or small it is still an exploit. doesn't matter if you think it should be a basic feature or not as you are not behind the development of the game. The fact you're twisting my words to make it sound bad and how i'm so against it makes you sound like a whiny child. If the devs implement it as a feature of the game then that is a feature, not an exploit. However when you find something that is not in the game as a feature, then use it, you are exploiting the system period end of statement. this is the same as cheating, do you want to argue semantics? I did not say it wouldn't be a good feature but it is not a feature. You also do not know what else it is doing and if it's giving your position away then why use it wow, I just don't understand CHEAT culture in games.. well actually I do but all it means to me is I think you're an exploiter, one like those that use the leave match functionality just because you don't like the map.

I read a while ago that there is an additional generator to complete based on the number of survivors. 4 survivors means 5 generators. 3 survivors is 4 generators and so forth. So then why does it matter if a survivor disconnects while loading? I hate waiting to get into a game, a survivor disconnects and it cancels the round. Plus, it removed a notch on my level. How can I get down a notch when I didn't even play?
Yea the loss of 1 of 4 people means you loose about 33% of the capability of the survivors and 1 gen is only 20% reduction of the work load survivors have to deal with. so it's a good thing it no longer happens.
HOWEVER! if you have a Kill your Friends (custom match) you can get a 3 v 1, and only need 4 gens, so the functionality is still there but only in this mode which matters not for your blood points or ranking.

now you can't exploit your way through the game
This bug wasn't anything gamebreaking but rather an accessibilty feature that we should already have
use your keybinds if you don't like holding m1
People always forget about console players :(
it was not intended and is unfair to the killers as they don't have the same thing. so you are in favor of making it easier for just survivors then I disagree it WAS damaging because while you don't have to do crap, I can't do something to automatically WALK/RUN around the map as killer. oh and while you might hold m1 for about 1/4 or 1/3rd of the match, killers are holding W to move around the map even more than survivors are. so i'd say 4/5ths of the match... hope you enjoyed your exploit while you had it.

OH NO, such a BAD EXPLOIT, dude's there HOLDING M1, this is HORRENDOUS, we REALLY need to fix this TERRIBLE EXPLOIT that has no impact at all in the gameplay and might help people with problems like parkinson, arthritis, RSI and stuff like that, the game is RUINED because of this horrible exploit
because you do not like something does not mean that something that is found in the game is intended to be there. These things are called exploits, and using said exploits are bad, even if it helps you in general. the fact they removed it proves it was not intended, and not something to do anything about helping others. again change your key bindings in the game from m1 to what ever else you wish. be glad they aren't punishing those using the exploit.
oh and guess what? it is... while you don't have to do anything like hold m1, as killer i have to hold W to walk around the map to find you..... if I have to hold W to move around the map all the time to catch you, you have to hold m1 to take totems down, or do gens.
-
@Reiik said:
So, many of you probably know that it was possible to press esc while doing a gen/totem etc and then you wouldn't need to hold M1 which was extremely convenient for me who has repetitive strain injury so it hurts a little to keep holding m1.
Well... now they decided they would remove it because... hm, why not? and if you press esc while doing a gen it simply kicks you out of the gen, my only question is: why?
Really, why go out of your way to """fix""" something that no one ever complained and even helped people with problems like mine? I just don't understand the priorities
because it is not intended. just because it hadn't been noticed before (as no one "COMPLAINED") it's possible they didn't know that EXPLOIT was there. it is not something that is easily seen and requires people to actively find the exploit. now you can't exploit your way through the game. use your keybinds if you don't like holding m1...
