It's pretty ridiculous on ps4. What happened to them "taking special care" when it came to graphic update for consoles?

Do you remember the Roadmap(s) (that don't exist anymore, because the devs been unreliable) where we were supposed to get ONE Console Optimization Patch, it turned into several small patches because they couldn't deliver it in time.

And now it's suddenly turned into the Map Rework project, that they want to optimize consoles.

  • The problem with this whole topic is that the community was expecting the same event treatment as last year (and they gave out 2 whole Skins) and to suddenly take out a part that made the event a bit more enjoyable, is a downgrade.

It's the same as if you look at new phone releases, wasn't there a big backlash when Apple suddenly anounced, that the new iPhones wouldn't have earphones? And now they will release the new phone without a charging cable. But the big difference this time is, they told the customers beforehand, that they will discontinue charging cables.

Was it for the profit to sell loading stations? Of course ... have they warned possible customers beforehand, totally.

So if BHVR had told us beforehand, that this time we won't get event currency for whatever reason, this might have been a little different.

This is the skin and build I’ve been running,

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/E2ST32L5RPJ9/3ec5a392-ec3f-4717-8c73-9c769c8bf770.jpeg

So nothing that screams “CHASE ME! CHASE ME!” - yet I definitely feel more ‘targeted’ when playing as Felix.

So the two specific cases I've seen now have to do with the Blight Skin.

Either it's because of the glow of the skin that makes you more present to the killer than say a Blendette or Feng with really dark clothes.

    OR

It's because you bought the Blight Outfit and it's like the Lisa case. They want to punish BHVR (indirectly) by killing and tunneling survivors who bought Blight Skins (that cannot be earned this event)

Try 2-3 matches with his basic skin or another Felix Skin and see if you become the target of tunneling.

(Also impressive how you already reached Devotion 10, do you play on PS4 or PC with Controller?)

  • @iZombie said:

It’s weird you mention this as I was playing last night and I noticed in some matches killers would only come after me. A Nea in my match also messaged to say she kept trying to get his attention but he’d ignore her. I didn’t do anything wrong, I was just continuously chased. It was a fun match though as I got a lot of points and escaped.

It definitely seemed to be because of my character as I’ve never seen this killer before as a killer or survivor.

    What Felix-skin were you playing?

  • Actually it's the first time I heard of this case with Felix.

I heard some while ago where people went on to tunnel and camp Cheryl's with the Legendary Lisa Garland Skin to punish them for paying almost 15 bucks for that skin to show some kind of sign to not pay that money, but Felix?

Does she play Felix with any particular skin?

The Oktoberfest or even Halloween skin?

    I've experienced this too, it's a bug.

Thank goodness, I thought I was just somehow blind and activated the serum and didn't notice it.

But I'm glad someone else also experiences it

  • Many people found this bug.

There is also the same bug for one Killer Challenge, that has to do with earning a specific amount of points in one category

How do you know your Halloween event is terrible, when on day 1 of the event some of the biggest DBD streamers and Fog Whisperers are playing another game.

I was watching a delightful Left 4 Dead Stream Yesterday on a Fog Whisperer Stream and it was 1000x better than this "Event"

  • I gotta say The following Events were awesome:

The first Anniversary, that gave us a ton of new cosmetics, the Party Streamers and a new map

The BBQ Event (I just wished, they would activate it around June or July to give the gens a new look)

Howling Grounds (The amazing New Year Event, with the beautiful Feng Min Skin)

    Hallowed Blight

If we look at this year events. New Year one was lacklustre, Halloween too. 4th Anniversary was fine for me for the sheer amount of cakes we could gain

After taking a break from playing nurse for a few months, I got back to her again a couple days ago. Which map did I get? The Game :/

I decided to start learning Nurse two days ago, the first Map I got with her was Rotten Fields :D

  • Has anyone else experienced it?

  • @DrJohn said:

I really hope they see the backlash from this event, but I doubt it. Their events just keep getting more and more mediocre. These are good ideas far better than the devs'.

We couldn't earn any New Year Skins during the Moonlight Event earlier this year, so it kind of showed that they want us to buy the skins instead

It's funny how games without horror as a main theme gets better Halloween events than this game.

I mean look at COD, a First-Person-Shooter. They even got a better Halloween-Event.

They got Leatherface and Billy (Jigsaw Puppet) Skins, Chests in-game that contain jumpscares, A Zombie Mode and they included a Night variant for Map they have. Look at the sheer amount of stuff https://www.pcgames.de/screenshots/original/2020/10/MW-S6.5-ROADMAP-pc-games.jpg

Of course there are some things that can't be implemented into DBD but just the sheer amount of things they have compared to an actual horror game.

I think we just need a real competitor in this area of games to get a change if the Devs don't change their mentality. If DBD was an offline game it's one thing, but Online Games live from Events and stuff like that.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Anyone else just have those really bad streaks of RNG? Those days where you get awful map after terrible, awful map? I just had some of the most astoundingly bad maps I've seen. As Blight, I had Lery's into Blood Lodge (Pallet City version) into Ironworks (this one was just amazing RNG. CHAINED LT walls? Pallets everywhere? God window?) into The Game. So, I chill with some survivor. Dead Dawg, Dead Dawg, (as a lovely blonde survivor with a floating halo to boot), and just to rub it in, an almost completely dead Ironworks. And that's without mentioning the other people in the trial doing everything they can to force their perks.

So, whose got some amazing stories about awful, awful RNG? Let's have a share and a bit of a jealous drool over the things our opponents got given.

Once I had Lery's for the whole day (about ten matches) as both survivor and killer and it wasn't the funniest time.

Great comparison. I wonder why the monetisation has taken over so drastically. One could think since they already make millions from the battlepass and cosmetics they would give something nice back. Not too much, but at least somewhat on par with previous events. As someone who missed the first two blight events, I feel I really missed out on these, since this year can hardly be called an event.

TBH For me personally it isn't the fact that we can't earn Skins anymore (It's a major bummer and a downgrade but whatever)

As you said, how can they call it an event, if there isn't really anything to work towards to? The flowers are locked behind Tome Challenges that I can do in May for example. The Pustula Offering is really scarce in the bloodweb to have an effective Bloodpoint event. The Halloween items and Addons are the only thing that work in terms of an event.

BUT literally starting into the third match, the Killer Addon bugged out and didn't gain stacks anymore.

I know that they always create bugs somehow in these events, but this year it's like the final nail in the coffin.

I mean we're in the ETERNAL BLIGHT the Grand Finale, and to have such a major downgrade in terms of a Halloween Event (for a HORROR game) is such a letdown

  • Preach it.

And they can't hide behind the Indie Game Dev Facade anymore

  • @dirtsmell said:

RIP this console pleb. Typing in codes takes forever.

Absolutely. I thought they learned after the Twitter Fiasco with the Skin Codes, where they were gone after seconds.

But nope console plebs are left to rot.

  • Look at the Rift and you've got the answer.

Usually it would be on the free track if there is one (like last year), but nope still empty boxes

  • They can't come with the bulls**t answer that because of Ghost Face they can't do it.

YES, you can, you just have to activate the button to buy with Serum on all Blights except for GF

  • You can always order a cable online if you want to

  • @musefan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1693829#Comment_1693829

If they dropped the rift, and just did 2 free event cosmetics you can be sure they would be the same cosmetics that they plan on using in the new rift.

They obviously design a certain number of cosmetics with the intention they can be earned without paying. The method they allow you to earn them is irrelevant. Rift or event, its all the same. Do something = get free cosmetic.

With regards to designers struggling, you have already answered it yourself. It's easy to come up with loads of great ideas, and they do have plenty of great cosmetics. But they also have plenty of obviously rehashed designs that they need to get done quickly to fill the quota.

Dbd isn't a game well suited to this business model of cosmetics. Skins are really all they have. Look at the keyrings for example, they are useless as nobody sees them anyway - not survivors ones at least. But the are desperate to have something to put in those rifts in order to sell the pass.

I think they're fine with the way they create the cosmetics.

They don't put many out in-between big patches.

The thing with skins and the rift is, it didn't hinder them last year to give out 2 Event Skins plus all the stuff from the rift.

Also it's not quite the same, for example in my opinion I'd like the Feng and Felix Blight skins so much and I'd rather have one of them in the rift instead of David. Without the rift, we'd be able to earn 1 or 2 of the cosmetics we'd atleast want and it has nothing to do with having to pay for the rift or not.

So why would it be such a big thing to repeat this year?

BUT to end the discussion, let's wait till the event starts and we'll see if we can earn atleast one skin with any kind of event currency

  • @musefan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1693764#Comment_1693764

Maybe. But that's not relevant to the point of them being free.

And who is to say event specific cosmetics would be any better anyway.

The designers are clearly struggling to keep up with the business model.

Event Specific Cosmetics are in this case better, because they were created for an actual EVENT.

So having them hide behind a paywall without having the chance to atleast get one skins is kind of dumb.

Also if the designers are CLEARLY (tell me where you've seen this and how are they struggling) struggling to keep up with.

How about to let community influence on ideas or working on already existing themes.

Off the Top of my head, they could create more of the Circus based Outfits for the other characters, more 80's inspired skins and so on, I could give you a whole list of cosmetic ideas.

  • It's really sad that Colourblind players can't play this game to the fullest.

Also in regards to the button smashing. The PH cages work fine with skill checks, why not use them for the hook struggling?

  • @ThePolice said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1693755#Comment_1693755

Theyre usually reskins of preexisting cosmetics, community created cosmetics or preexisting reskins of preexisting cosmetics from the mobile version

    To add to your comment.

The last two tomes included Mobile Reskins of BASE Skins.

Also as if BHVR put the David Blight Outfit in the Free Track

  • @musefan said:

Because the Rift is there for you to earn your free cosmetics instead.

Nah, the Rift didn't hinder them to include the Halloween Currency last year, so that argument is weak.

  • It will be like the Moonlight Event earlier this year all over again if you ask me.

They created the Cosmetics for Jeff and Susie and were weren't able to unlock any.

It's sad because so many other games give players the incentive to earn something during events and DBD is getting slowly out of "Earn amazing skins" to "Buy these skins for money" in these events.

  • Untitled Image

Miku from Fatal Frame, I would love to see, if the Devs are able to implement her camera into sth. in-game

  • For Survivors definitely Feng's Red Dress and Jane's Beach Outfit

For Killers it's definitely Wraith's and Nurse's Phantom of the Opera inspired outfits, they look so beautiful and I'd love to see more homages to other musicals or operas/even pop culture in the future

  • Your data is saved on BHVR's servers.

As long as you use the same E-Mail address (aka your same account) there shouldn't be any problem

  • The whole cosmetic is supposed to depict a Dirndl a traditional German costume worn during the Oktoberfest.

Usually these dresses can bei either shorter or longer (in Kate's case it's a longer one).

Some have a side slit (more modern versions) but usually they're closed off.

Her skirt-shape is supposed to be Bell-Shaped and works very well for a Dirndl.

All in all the only thing weird with this dress is that side slit (but can exist) and the placement of the bow, since Oktoberfest-Dirndl are supposed to show your "Relationship-status" with the bow.

The bow of Kate describes her either as a waitress in the Oktoberfest or a Widow. And I guess she isn't either of them

  • I don't get into any Killer lobbies, so the Killer challenges have to wait

  • @nunadventures said:

I would assume some cosmetics would release in a a couple of weeks. Like mid April I would say. Usually cosmetics are released bi monthly it seems like

I know that they release (normally) cosmetics on wednesday, but we got with the last three DLC's a set of DLC specific items on the release day, so I was wondering if there's a reason for not doing the same this time.

What is supposed to have said Dave Richard, is saying "Its watching" "chrorus". It totally has to do with a religious father or it could be a priest the Father of Campbell Chapel.

Who could watch us? A chorus? Totally the power that has to watch us is god or a priest with powers of sorcerer.

    What you think about this?

What was this all about 'a chorus' - this was a hint for the Spirit!

It makes more sense for The Legion.

  • I'd love to transfer the progress from one platform to another (Character levels, Auric Cells, Shards, Player Level, Cosmetics) I wouldn't even care if I had to buy the DLC's on the other platform again, but I'd like to keep my stuff, even if it means that the specific stuff would be "deleted" on the old platform.

  • And the Offerings for this event are the same as the ones from the Howling Ground, the Red Envelopes.

Yesterday I looked at them after the patch and the description is updated too.

Here's the description for the new offering (in the spoiler):

Calls upon The Entity to generate 1 Lunar Vessel.

As a Killer, hook a Survivor to corrupt the Vessels in the Trial and make them temporarily destructible. Destroying a Vessel earns Moonrise progress and bonus Bloodpoints

As a Survivor, escape the Trial with a Vessel. Escaping with a Vessel earn Moonrise progress and bonus Bloodpoints Stacks.

Only playable during the Moonrise Event.

Completing the Moonrise Event will earn you Golden Coins for use in the Store.

NOTE: During the Event, 2 default Lunar Vessels will spawn on the Map.

"The Red Envelope is filled with crisp, new bills that bring luck and happiness."

From the information that has been leaked, it looks like this event may even be worse than the Hallowed Blight event. When is BHVR going to realize that survivors need cooperative events; otherwise, greed takes over and no one wins. I’ll definitely be playing Killer only for the entire event, though the gen rushing is not at all going to be fun.

Not really...I'm assuming that all survivors will be rewarded when someone collects, and only the killer is rewarded when he destroys. Instead of pitting survivors against eachother, it pits the team against the killer.

From Reading what Not_Queen wrote and the leaked description over there on Reddit, it seems to me, that the survivors get the coins altogether.

  • I like the idea of a Randomize Button and a pre-saved Build button.

  • I got an Halloween loadout idea:

    Trick or Treat:
    Survivor:

Get into the spooky mood and dress up in an "Halloween Costume"

    Perks:

    • Plunderer´s Instinct
    • Ace in the Hole
    • Up The Ante
    • Decisive Strike

Loot every "Candy bowl" (chest) you can find throughout your trick or treat round and get safely back home (survive) with the best "candy" (item).
If the neighbours don't want to hand out candies they deserve a trick (Decisive Strike)

    Scare or Dare:
    Killer:

You want to give those pesky kids a good scare

    Perks:

    • Monitor & Abuse
    • Tinkerer
    • Hex: Haunted Ground
    • Hex: No One Escapes Death

Throughout the last years, you gained some skills in scaring other people and since you don't want that those kids take your candies, you have to make sure, that they return home, frightened to death and without candies.
They will notice you too late and it will become your advantage.

Disclaimer: I chose No One Escapes Death and Decisive Strike as the ultimate perks in the builds, so that the loadouts become scary. It makes sense since it's designed for Halloween. Hope that the idea is good :)

  • Do the cosmetics (from the shop) deliver any lore for the character?
For example - Toxic Waste Nurse or the Fog Traveller Set

  • It will probably start next week

  • Survivor:

    Ninja Build:

    Quick and Quiet
    Iron Will
    Technician
    Calm Spirit

And as extra challenge to that:
You have to wear the brightest clothes that you have on your character.
