You say that now but wait until the bill comes, you hear a bell, and all of a sudden it's you alone to pay the bar tab!

"CURSE HIS SUDDEN BUT INEVITABLE BETRAYAL."

  • Had a fantastic match with a pig when the Boop Mask came out. One of my first matches after getting it on the saloon we got a pig - I was the only one with the mask. Piggy and I entered the saloon at the same time from opposite ends and a full on meet-cute moment where we both stopped and looked at each for a moment... then both starting crouching at the same time. I was twirling and crouching and booping that snoot. Then a Jill came flying onto the bar from the second story, presenting Piggy with her medkit. And more boops were had.

We ran around farming and booping all match - I even got some as Piggy in training.

Then, at the end, I had left my helmet on and was ticking down, chasing behind after the pig so they could see it explode - I know how rare it is and it was the best way I could think of to thank them - but they turned around, looked at me, then downed me and forced me out the exit by dropping me as close as they could inside the exit and not letting anyone else heal me. :'} Nicest, and most fun Pig ever.

If you're out there reading this, it was the best match I have had in a long time. I was so giddy and laughing so much. Thank you Piggoo!

wow that is some easy matches. dunno I think don't face him really often. he is not really buggy. you need center your camera near his upper body to reveal him and do not try to reveal him when he is leaning on objects. it is better to run away to strong loops and let him mark you, the mark is likely expire if your good at using loops before he hits you. Running away sometimes will result in ghostface player going out of cover and you can reveal him by looking behind you while running forward. if you catch him early enough, you can run into him and reveal him before he marks you but ghostface player will likely just hit you rendering his stalking system to be very worthless.

It's easy enough to say, but in my practice I find, even if I'm staring directly at him he can mark me before I can snap him.... unless I'm not actually trying to look at him, then I snap him out. It's very frustrating. But we all have our "this one killer I dislike because reasons" killers.

Don't really see him. You see a lot more wraith as wraith just better ghostface. Thrilling treamor is BBQ on 80 second cooldown with worse info. I'm all ears, never seen anyone use it in serious build. Furtive chase, never faced as survivor. has useless effect. Like i said, apart from first two licensed chapters, Halloween and Leatherface with BBQ/STBFL, None of their perks have been memorable.

Lol, I wanna play where you play then. I'd say out of ten matches, on average, probably a least four are ghostface. Which I hate because I find him buggy and dislike playing against him.

right. i forgot about that. last time they did that. it was leatherface and ghostface that had no map or survivor. leatherface was really bad killer but at least his chapter was memorable for the BBQ perk and later the killer got refined. Ghostface... oh man. disaster PTB, barely anyone plays him, they even manage to weaken his stalking power after he went live. Almost nobody uses his perks, they're among worst. well that is setting some low expectations.

Are we talking about the same ghostface? I see him all the time. And I see his perk Thrilling Tremors all the time on all kinds of killers. And I see I'm All Ears fairly regularly too, though not as much as TT. (His last one I'll give you, I don't think I've ever seen it.)

  • The real question: what's everyone's bets for perks?

So they don't want people to play better in order to get better teammates and opponents? This sounds more like a joke to be honest. The explanation with covering up their mistakes seems far more realistic.

Eh. Take it however you want, my dude. It's not going to change the base problems the game has whether it's on or off.

  • As a killer, my only "win" condition is getting all four stacks of my BBQ. After that, whatever happens, happens.

As a survivor it varies from my escape, to at least one person escaping if the killer was playing like an absolute jerk, to finishing my challenge if it's one of the really dumb ones (like the "finish three gens in one match" one i was working on yesterday).

  • @Junylar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2426134#Comment_2426134

If you don't know what is a "win" for the MMR system - this system is useless, since you don't know what you have to do in order to "win". Imagine it works the same way as pips (and there is a great chance it does so), meaning you have to farm unhooks, gens, chases and THEN escape in order to "do good" for the MMR. If you just loop the killer for 5 gens and then escape - you will then lose your MMR without even knowing it. You will be sure you did good, but the game decided you wasn't good enough and decreases your MMR, putting you with worse teammates in the next game. It's nonsense and it can't be called "the the system works as intended", because it doesn't: it clearly uses wrong metrics, making MMR inconsistent. This is why every game in the universe that uses MMR makes it crystal clear how MMR is calculated, so that players can see it's working correctly. DbD in the only exception in the history of mankind in this regard, because the devs want to hide it in case it doesn't work, so that they don't have to deal with complaints. This is why MMR is good, but hidden and obfuscated MMR is horrible.

I wouldn't hold my breath for an explanation as to how it works. As I recall, it's been stated that if and when this system goes into effect they have no intention of telling us how it works because the instant they do, people will start finding ways to game it so they get to be matched up with who they want/who they think they should be matched with instead of what the math says.

  • Nothing yet. I'm waiting to see how the shrine shakes out by the end. I really want Elodie's perks. Or, more specifically, one of her perks. Maybe two. ;p If they turn up in the shrine, I'll grab them and be happy and maybe buy a new killer. If they don't, I'll probably buy her and level her up for them.

  • I'm of two minds.

In one: more would be fun, and helpful(!) on the really big maps, Ormond/RPD/etc.

On the other: they are so useful as they are. Even if they aren't downing survivors left and right - which, can't be overstated that that's not actually their purpose anyway. They are time wasters for survivors, forcing them to break from whatever they're doing to either lure the thing away, or blind it. And even better, they're informational for the killer. I was playing Nemmy last night and don't have BBQ for him yet. But I "almost" didn't need it. (Still would have loved those sweet, sweet bloodpoints.) Seemingly every time I hooked someone and looked around, there was a zombie, somewhere, with it's arms out telling me where a survivor was, or one was in its "blind sway" state, telling me, again, a survivor was nearby.

I'd say I could get behind an offering that added one. Like Piggy and her extra bear trap offering. Something fun for every now and again, but not base kit.

  • Mikey.

Actually, I blame DBD entirely for the soft spot I've developed for him. The memes have made me love him.

  • When I'm feeling the need for BP fast - such as now when I'm trying to prestige my new main and love of my life Jill - I run WGLF and Prove Thyself. It feels like I'm a BP machine. I mean, no where near as good as just playing any killer ever, but better!

  • Some of you have never heard the stories of how protective of their characters Capcom is, and it shows.

Look into the behind the scenes stuff of the RE live-action films and you'll see. Capcom was apparently very particular, especially early going, as to what their characters could/couldn't do, or what characters could or couldn't appear. Hell, word has it that's why they ended up going with Paul W.S. Anderson's script in the end over George Romero's.

My favorite story is how when they got to the third film, we finally got Wesker, series big-bad... but if you read the original script, he wasn't in it - his part was some random Umbrella guy. Word is, that's because Capcom hadn't yet agreed for them to use Wesker yet, when they finally got the go-ahead, they just changed the name and a few details, otherwise the character is exactly as he was in the original script.

    edit: typo

  • Just sent you a request on discord!

  • Technician. It was a trash tier perk before, it's a trash perk now. (Though useful for absolute beginners.)

  • Another one:

Small Game, Inner Strength, Detective's Hunch, Distortion. Aka, the Totem Hunter. (Distortion can be switched out for anything, but I like it in case it's an aura totem like Undying or Retribution.)

  • Chest goblin.

Plunderers/Ace in the Hole/Appraisal (which I don't actually have yet, but want desperately), and sometimes Pharmacy if I want to guarantee a least one med kit. I like my shiny shiny items that I'll almost never use because I just like having them in my inventory.

Oh, forgot streetwise! To make said item last longer.

  • If just speaking about the characters themselves, not players: the last two female survivors Elodie and Zarina, and slightly less so Steve because of their god-awful screams. And I say this as someone who plays Zarina from time to time. Really BH, they do not need to be that loud, it's okay, we'll know they've been hooked, promise.

Gameplay wise.... eh, any survivor can be spectacularly terrible. But generally I see Nea's and Steve's making the most boneheaded plays. IE running in and getting involved in something they have no business in and generally making it worse.

Most chill players seem to be Dwights and Quentins.

    Now that you remind me...

I forgot to mention GF's awful reveal mechanic.

    Pepperidge farms remembers.

I also forgot Blight. Whatever. B because as you said, a lot of Tinkerer and goddamnit it I was almost finished with that gen, every time!

Also, side note good post, my dude. I lol'd heartily.

  • RANK.PNG

S Tier is for the truly horrible. Freddie because, lol, FREDDIE. Legion because god is he boring. Run-stab-run-stab-run-stab, and don't get me started on that god awful map-wide killer instinct add-on. And good ol' ghostie because of how damn buggy and stupid snapping him out of power is. Also, he attracts above average edgy memelords and good god, someone needs to give those children bottles and get them to bed.

Yes, Wraith is in my A tier. I, personally, suck against him. And for that, he sucks. Booooo.

Also, caveat: Mikey is add-on dependent. I see a tombstone and he gets himself a nice little seat in S Tier.

  • On the flip, 6amish feels like a 180. Instant lobbies, matches generally better, survivors generally smarter than toast. It's wild.

  • Empathy or Bond or Aftercare, even Blood Pact in a pinch, are nice too. Too help in knowing where your teammates are when you/they aren't on a hook.

I personally really like We'll Make It for that fast heal after unhooking, and then since it lasts so long you can milk that healing speed for a while as a bonus.

  • I was getting carried by the killer in a recent match and someone dropped the cracker in front of us... I got blinded, killer didn't. XD Even if they had, I wouldn't have been able to run anywhere.

    Good times.

  • Iron Will. And not even to try and be stealthy, although I do like that. I just prefer survivors to stfu. Especially the newer survivors who are all roughly louder than the other survivors put together. I can't stand the constant noise anymore!

Secondary: Distortion. I just really love all the information it gives me and miss it when I'm not running it. But I'll drop it before IW.

The absolute rule would be to give back some teabags when a fellow survivor teabags you to say hi or thank you.

    Absolute.

    This truth.

Healed me? Have a happy teabag, friendo.

  • I'll add you. Same username/gamertag.

  • Are you open to crossplay? I play quite a bit and I'm looking a team. No worries if you're not.

But if so: EST is my zone and I usually play before or after work. Sometimes both, lol.

  • I'll switch survivors if I load into a lobby that's say: all megs, just to have fun. "My sisters!" so to speak. Or if it's a lobby of all male characters, I'll switch from my usual female main to the male of my choice to have "guy's night out." Again, just amusing myself in what can sometimes be a frustrating game.

I won't, however, change my full outfit. I paid for my cosmetics to have my great/terrible outfit, damnit, I'm gonna wear it.

Yea I mean per hook / total. It's a pocket brand new part lol :)

Again, at the cost of 9 hooks tho. That... is a very, very expensive brand new part. And one survivor(s) will have to hold unto until that point. When it's completely useless.

I mean, maybe, just maybe, a full 4-SWF squad could get some value out of it? But look at the bright side, if they're doing that - which is still a debatable choice in my book - they have to give up something else. If you want the meta to change, some perks are going to have offer something better than exhaustion perk/ds/unbreakable/whatever perk people hate these days (is it spin chill still? or borrowed time? or iron will? You get my point).

I don't think there actually is, it doesn't say a cap

It says it right in the perk description.

    fast track.PNG

You can get a max of three tokens.

Unless you mean total, rather than per hook. In which case... the max you can get is 27. But then you're by alone and good job, I guess? Enjoy death.

Raccoon PD would absolutely have to be the map, OR the Spencer Estate. There's no other options. As much of a fangirl as I am for the entire series, with lots and lots of wonderful set pieces. There's just none that instill that fangasm as much as either of those locations do.

If I had to guess I'd say Racoon PD would more than likely be the map used. They LOVE revisiting Racoon PD. Over and over and over and over again. RE2 and 3, the remakes, Operation Racoon City, RE:Verse (Eugh) You get the point.

For Killer I'd love me some Mr. X but he's too tall for this game. There's no way they'd rework the maps specifically for him. Same thing with Nemesis. We can't do any of the monster mobs like Lickers, they're too brainless and not slasher material. For Killer I'd assume Lisa Trevor or Albert Wesker.

Albert Wesker is way too communicative, and OP by design so I don't know how they'll make him a killer in this game. (They could make it work though.) Lisa Trevor would be super dope and honestly right on course for DBD. I don't know if it has as much marketability since I fear a lot of fans who only played the games that weren't tank based movement would go "Who the eff is that?" I mean she wasn't even the main villain in her own game.

The killer I would hate to see in this game but one that would make total sense would be Jack Baker from RE7. He would fit in perfectly but I wouldn't want to really play as another chainsaw class.

For survivor I'd want Claire or Rebecca.

I'd say we're probably going to get Chris for the meme potential (Boulder Puncher) and because he's the OG survivor. Jill potentially, she is a great character but she's middle tier for me. (In Re3 Remake she had a healthy dose of PTSD though so that's fun!) I can't say we should expect to see Ada or Leon, they haven't really even had cameo's of either of then in RE7 or 8. For some reason they're really focusing on Chris.

I can't imagine Rebecca being the survivor because that isn't really as marketable, she only existed in RE0, 1 and Mercenaries Reunion.

Claire I'd want because... well Claire is the best! (Except Revelations 2. I hate how they retconned the ######### out of her character for Moira's sake.)

Wesker can definitely be worked with. We saw a "powered-down" version of him in the RE0 HD rerelease, remember. All he had there was his speed charge thing, and eye lasers (lol). So I feel there's potential. And as far as iconic RE villains - non-bio weapons - go, is there one bigger than Wesker? He was the big, over-arching bad through RE5 and his presence has still lingered after. (And imagine if BE dared go the Ash route and give us just a little, like, lobby interaction with him and we got some D.C. Douglas voice lines mixed in like in RE0?)

Map: I think that's gotta be the RPD. Again, as far as iconic RE locations... I don't think even the Spencer Estate tops the RPD.

Survivor: Trying to think about this pragmatically, I seem to recall once upon a time Capcom saying Leon was their most profitable character, so maybe him? But then, we haven't honestly seem much of him since the REmake2 so maybe that's no longer true. If you want to go thematically, I say Chris because Chris and Wesker have that whole arch-rival thing. Personally though, if it were just up to me, Claire or Jill, thems my girls.

  • Also, I swear I played it last night and no gens spawned on the top floor? I ran around four complete circles and didn't see any. Has any else experienced that? Or was I just really, really blind?

  • Distortion. I just love all the info it can give me about the killer and their build. BBQ, Nurse's Calling, Hex Undying, the ultra-rare Territorial Imperative that I am definitely never expecting... aura reading add-ons, even scratched mirror Meyers. I get a head's up on that before it bites me in the ass and I can plan accordingly. I wish there was a way to recharge tokens like pebble given just how much aura-reading there is in the game, but I still really like it.

I also really like Wake Up.

As for killer - Spies and the above mentioned Territorial basement sneak-peek. No one ever expects that perk and it's also so funny to catch that survivor looting the basement in the first 10 seconds of the game.

  • One of my first games after the patch it was against a clown and at one point myself (a Feng), and another Feng were standing together behind a pillar on The Game. We were standing side-by-side, shoulder to shoulder. The Clown came around the pillar on the other Feng's side, swung, and hitboxes are so borked he hit ME on her other side. She was untouched.

  • I recently had a day where I had multiple Midwich - Hag matches. Not all in a row, but close enough. Multiple brought moris. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Oh, and you've ever played Pig and had a survivor actually die to your trap, it was probably me. It is always the last box and it is always across the map from whichever box I just checked last. Such is always my luck.

Releasing things for free doesn't use up resources, and is therefore not a loss. It's only a loss if they look at it from the company standpoint: "If we're not selling it, we're losing money."

We paid for the game, and we expect to be treated more like a community than trash that will eat up anything.

That is a lie and you know it. Employees have to design those costumes and make them. Unless you expect they're just working for free? However they get it to us - ie, making us pay for them, or giving them to us as freebies - they are absolutely costing Behavior via payroll if nothing else.

Absolutely. I thought they learned after the Twitter Fiasco with the Skin Codes, where they were gone after seconds.

But nope console plebs are left to rot.

Even if I happen to be in the stream, at the right moment, not in a match and have the store open, I ain't getting one just for lack of being able to get the code in fast enough. Unless I can find a fog whisperer with <10 viewers.

  • Doctor. Easy. I hate how he doesn't have to think/work to find a survivor, just hits a button instead. I have seen so many lose a survivor and just stop dead to hit their power to find them again. Not even trying to track.

If I can't have him tho... Freddy, also easy. He's just so boring. The whole match is just how much can he slow it down. And that REACH. I know, I know, it's the same as all the others, but it doesn't look like it damn it and it messes me up every time.

  • First story is super old - from back before matches cancelled when a survivor didn't load in. So, only three of us loaded in, the other two DCed pretty quickly and I was just left to little ol' me and Trapper. I don't like DCing so I sighed, sucked it up, and dropped the first pallet I came to and starting hopping over it to get his attention. He came along and, rather than just murdering me and moving on, he just broke the pallet. We stared at each other for a couple seconds, then started farming. We ran around dropping/breaking pallets, working/breaking gens, until the hatch opened (this was back when you had to do a certain number of gens before it would open) and I can't remember how it ended - whether he killed me or refused to, but I remember offering, and either way it was super sweet and he/she was a very good egg.

Another trapper once (I swear they are the most chill) carried me around Lery's for probably 10 minutes when I was the last survivor trying to find the hatch for me. I eventually heard it and started to wiggle to let him know, and he immediately started the drop/pick up/drop until I was free and then followed me and watched me hop in.

Last, and most recent one though it was also a while ago: was in a match with a Huntress, and when it came down to the two of us and she found me, rather than just killing me, she picked me up and dropped me until I wiggled. Now, to this point, I knew she was either pretty new/or just not very skilled yet with Huntress as the hatchets had been a little rough, so I figured - hey! I too wish I could be a good Huntress, maybe I can help this one! So I started just, walking back and forth, walking at first, then running, then ducking, then in circles, etc. And she just practiced. Going to reload when she needed, picking me up when I was downed so I could wiggle and we could go again. This went on for a while, then she picked me up and started walking so I thought "okay, death commeth" and was ready to just let it happen, even as she carried me into the basement, but then she dropped me again and we practiced some more as I ran around the hooks. Eventually she did kill me, and honestly, maybe she wasn't seeing it as nicely as I was - maybe she was just like "yeah! I get to toy with a survivor for a while longer, squeal piggy!" But I had fun and I hope I helped.
