If someone sends me a message like that, I don't say anything. They don't even deserve an answer.

Same thing here. I get all Red Ranks when I'm Rank 11 killer, though some Red ranks might as well be yellow ranked the way they play. And as you say, low level/new killers being matched to red rank when your survivor is so disheartening. I never go out of my way to taunt or anything, but when I see their rank on the results, I always message them and say they did a good job and to keep at it. I'd rather they get some encouragement than go away thinking they're bad or just don't want to play anymore. But, some survivors do use this as an advantage to bully those same players, and I don't agree with it personally. We were all there one time or another, and they all deserve a chance to at least learn or practice without being tortured all match
I agree. Some survivors are the definition of toxic. Everyone that plays knows the matchmaking is not putting people of the same rank together and when they see killers doing badly, which might be a sign that they are low rank, some survivors just double down on the toxicity, making the killer even more upset and I believe the more upset they are, the worse they play too. And of course, they might as well just quit the match and playing killer too, just because people can't play normally and forget that on the other end there is a human being. And then the survivors complain that the wait time is too long. Of course, if you make killers quit, there are few of them, so the wait times have to be longer. It's a cycle.
-
Yes, this still happens with the matchmaking. Seems the killer was "lucky" to only get you as a red rank and not all four, which tends to happen lot of times. 😕
-
This is a problem that keeps on not getting solved. I used to play killer more, but now going against players that are in ranks so much higher, makes things much more annoying. I'm also a green rank killer and the matches I have are almost always against full red rank teams, who of course are much better, give me a hard time and it usually goes bad for me, so I kept not ranking up (not that I want to, but that's a fact). The other day, mean, as a survivor on red ranks went against a killer that was rank 18! I could not believe it. Of course the killer did not kill anyone and I felt bad after the match. Not that I did anything to annoy the killer, but it's just unfair and unfun, especially if the person is not that good as a killer to start with.
-
I usually play survivor, but I also play killer, but not as much. There have been changes that benefit survivors, this one benefits killers, it's not a big deal. I remember when Ruin was changed. People were saying the game would be dead. Well, months have passed and people still play the game. Everyone has to adapt and the game will still go on.
-
Leave NOED as it is. NOED can be countered by doing the dull totems, Adrenaline, for example, cannot, but I don't see the people that want NOED nerfed to also want Adrenaline nerfed. In my opinion, they are both ok as they are. Nerfing everything is not the answer. Survivors and killers should use the perks they want and the other players in the match just have to adapt.
-
I agree that the game is not friendly to new players. There is too much going on at first, a lot of characters, both killers and survivors, a lot of perks, a lot of maps, items, add-ons. Learning everything takes a lot of time. That said, I don't know if casual games would solve the problem. I mean, what is the exact difference, just ranks? Because I see a lot of people just moving from the ranked games for casual ones, but still playing the same. For example, I don't care about ranks, never did, I want points, that is all.
Now, if they brought a casual option, that would be good and I would probably prefer it to the ranked ones, but that would mean I would also be paired with people who just started playing. Worse, high rank killers, who hate going against red rank survivors, would probably move over to casual ranks too, if the only difference is the ranks, meaning a rank 1 killer on the ranked mode could be paired with any survivor, new or not. Now, if the casual mode had only half BP as rewards, that would change things, but while new players could learn, they would get only half the BP, so their grind would be even worse, so that's not a solution either...
-
I try to help others, because I would also want them to help me. Sometimes, they do, sometimes they do not. It's especially sad when you put yourself in danger to save someone, but when you need them, they don't even try to help. On the other hand, sometimes people could have just escaped, but decide to risk themselves to save me. So it's a mixed bag. All in all, I would say try to help others, because they might also help you. I feel especially connect and more willing to help someone that has helped me before.
Like, I was the first one hooked and the killer went for someone else. Another survivor comes from the other side of the map to save me and they do, but the killer comes back and goes for them. I heal and see them being downed. I feel a sense of loyalty to try to help them out, since they did the same for me. Problem is not everyone thinks this way.
-
Discordance would have helped a lot here. I try to use it when I get lucky with the bloodweb, but for Legion, it's one of their own perks. At least you knew everyone was on the same gen.
-
I don't think you were wrong at all, but we never know what the other person will do or think. For this scenario, the killer going after the unhooked person, even if she had saved you, he would got after you, so by killing yourself, that was the chance to get the hatch, which is just that, a chance. And your advice was on point, so don't be discouraged by her reaction, maybe next time someone will actually appreciate what you did and thank you.

There are toxic solo players and toxic swf players and that, in my opinion, is the problem. Survivors can be toxic and immature at any time and that is not fair to the killer, I agree, but not all swf players are toxic. When I play with my friends, we are not toxic, so it's always bad to see topics saying swf needs to be changed. People's attitude in the change is what needs to be changed, but I don't see that happening.
-
Anyone, killer or survivor, should use the perks they want, that is why they are in the game to begin with.
-
The waiting times for survivors are bad and in my opinion, I think a lot of people don't play killer. For example, I player killer, but much less than survivor. If my friends are online, we always play survivor together and they don't play killer at all. My friends say playing killer is too stressful and I agree that sometimes it is, especially because nowadays ranks are all over the place. I played a match today with me, rank 10 killer going against 2 rank 1 and 2 rank 2 survivors. I had a miserable time, for most of the match and while I play one match as survivor, then go for another one, I played one match as killer, go so frustrated that I switched back to survivor again.
Survivors need to stop and realise that Killers are essential. Guess what, you can't play a match without a killer. So, when there are balance changes that benefit killers, we can't just complain until those changes get reversed, because the game needs people who want to play killer and we are losing them. Also, be less toxic to killers that didn't do anything toxic to begin with. I get people t-bagging me at the start of a chase, after they throw down 1 pallet. Why? Or flashlight clicking? Playing killer is already stressful, there is no need to make it worse.
-
I agree. Considering the great designs the community has, only one winner from each side is not enough. At least make it 2 or 3 each.
-
I don't agree that DS should not work in the gates, because the survivor might have been unhooked, the killer is after them and when they are almost free, they get downed at the gates. Maybe no one else is hurt and the killer has not other choice to get a kill, except to go for the person that was just unhooked, but it's also not fair for the survivor. If they have DS, if they are using a perk slot for it, it should work, even at the gates.
-
If the game showed the killer those survivors were SWF, the killer would just dodge the lobby and the wait times are already very long to have people leaving. Not every SWF team is evil and toxic and have mics. I play with my friends sometimes and we are not toxic and we also don't use mics. We just want to play and have fun. Now, if killers knew we were SWF and dodged the lobby everytime, we would have to stop playing together, which is unfair.
-
It makes sense to make the perks available even if the characters are not. That happened for Bill's perks before, so they should do it again for Freddy's and Quentin's perks on Switch.
-
As I was reading the title, I was thinking maybe they could have reason to think it was teamming, but after reading the post, no, that is not teamming at all. If the game went on for all that time, the killer knows who is doing this or that or in Feng's case, who was not doing anything. People like these just drag out a match. Sometimes it's better to just die, find another match and try again. But don't worry, nothing will happen. Feng was only mad because you let the other live and she thought she deserved to survive.
-
I don't agree with killers seeing everything a survivor has equipped. Not only it is unfair for the survivor, but the killer can plan around what people are using or even just leave the lobby to avoid playing against certain perks. Also, they can just tunnel that survivor that has adrenaline, for example, because they don't want them to get to the endgame or just tunnel those survivors they know don't have DS.
-
Things like that don't often happen to me, but have happened like 3 times, I think. What I do is press the button so they can't heal me, so they don't get points, I don't get up and the killer can't down me again. It is not a real solution, you still can't do anything and if you quit, you lose the points you have and get a penalty, so you either bleed out or suicide as soon as you hit the hook. It's not great, but at least they don't get more points either.
-
I recently watched the Psycho movies, so I think Norman Bates would be cool to have as a killer.
-
My favorite is still Léry's Memorial Institute, but I also like Grave Of Glenvale.
-
DS has already been reworked, yet, people still complain about it. I think it's fine, just don't tunnel the person that was just unhooked or if you do, wait 60 seconds before picking them up.
-
I also leave when I know people are safe. No need to stay just to be toxic to the killer. Some survivors decide to vault to make noise too, which is annoying.
-
I play on PS4 and at least until like two weeks ago, things were going well for me. Found lobbies with at most 100 ping, usually below that. Then, for the last two weeks, the ping has gone to 300 or worse. Even playing solo today I got a lobby that was changing between 700-1000 ping. How can anyone play like that?

For survivor: Spine Chill and Empathy
For killer: Discordance
-
Spine Chill is still good after the undetectable status appeared. While I understand some stealth killers are unhappy with it, it only activates if the killer is looking in the survivors direction, but they don't know which direction that is. I used to use Alert all the time, but when the undetectable status was given to a few killers, it stopped working while these killers had that status, so I switched out to Spine Chill.
-
I play both roles, but more survivor than killer. If you want to be good at both, keep playing them both, otherwise, just play what you feel is more enjoyable at the moment.
-
Kate, but I also like Meg, Jake and Quentin.
-
I think the way to go is to add that effect to small game, so only survivors running that perk can see how many totems are left.
-
People are stupid, plain and simple. Threatening people's life or health over a game is not ok. In the past, I have received a message saying that I should kill myself. That is not right. Who in their right mind writes that to someone they don't know, because of a game? Of course, people like to hide behind their computers and their consoles, to send hate to everyone they want, because in real life they are most likely cowards, who would never say that to someone or they would be punched in the face.
-
Unsure.

Yeah depending on the context, sometimes it just better to escape than risk it. Since i seen a fair few games go south, due to everyone trying to save one person. Turning a game from a three man escape, to one person escape or just a total slaughter. Sometimes it just best to escape with what you have on hand.
Oh yes, a lot of times, because the survivors want to save that 1 person that is camped when the gates are already opened, things go very badly. Sometimes, that person is on the other side of the map, away from the gates. And yet, seems someone always tries to help and then gets hit by NOED. Then someone else thinks that the killer is busy with the downed person, tries to save, only to be also downed. And even if they manage to save that person that was hooked, no way he or she can make it to the gates if the killer decides to go after them. And there it is, 1 kill turns to 3, sometimes 4.
I have seen this happen over and over, so if that happens to someone, I just don't try to save, unless I'm playing with a friend and he's the one on the hook, so I feel bad and try to save, which most of the times ends up on either us both dying or me getting the save, but being downed and then camped to death. Silly things we do for friends :P
-
I mean, while I understand why people would be upset being left behind, sometimes there is just no way to quickly and safely get to others and make them understand you have a key and found the hatch.
I mean, it has happened to me, I had a key, found the hatch but had no idea where the others were. Sometimes I find them, sometimes not. A lot of those times, it's the killer that finds me and if I'm on my last hook, you bet I will just run to the hatch and use the key to escape, leaving the others behind.
-
I don't see how camping in the basement is fun at all, not for the killer or survivors. You just stand in a corner and wait. Playing 1 match like that ok, but a lot of them? I mean, maybe go do something else instead of playing like that.
-
People quit because of everything, but I think it has lessened since the penalties started. Anyway, as a survivor, it doesn't really bother me much if someone about to be hooked for the third time disconnects, since they would die in seconds anyway, but for a killer with chili, for example, it's bad. There's even people disconnecting after being downed for the first time, which is just selfish, because not only it is bad for the killer, but for the survivor team too.
-
I use Spine Chill a lot and like it much more than Premonition.
-
I think that after all gens are done, camping is ok. What are killers going to do, just leave the hook and risk the person being saved and getting no kills sometimes? Especially if the don't have barbecue and chilly and have no exact idea where anyone else is.
-
I would say Nea, but Quentin is bad too. However, he might have his face reworked, but poor Nea won't.
-
I loved to use toolboxes and while I think they needed a nerf, since ruin was changed too, I think it was too much. Even the rarer toolboxes just end up getting used in a few seconds, there is no incentive for me to bring a toolbox instead of a medkit. For example, I have been finding green toolboxes on chests and decided to keep my brown medkit instead, which, before the nerf, would have been crazy for me.
-
There are so many things that piss people off in this game. Finding an hex at the beginning of that match and destroying made me get face camped until death, for example. Even just playing well and managing to loop the killer for a few minutes will totally piss off a lot of them, to the point they make it their mission to down me and camp me to make sure I die.
As far as pissing off survivors, well, anything a killer does can piss them off, really. Sometimes, playing as a survivor what pisses me off most is not the killer, but the other survivors. Running to my gen, fixing for 2 secs, blowing it and running away is something I hate.
Also, selfish survivors. 2 days ago, me and another survivor were the last ones alive. I fixed the last gen to 85% and then the killer chased and hooked me. The other survivor finished the gen (she was hiding near while I fixed, I had waved at her to come help me, but she ignored me) and saved me. The killer came and chased me again. After some time, I managed to get away and heal. I was hoping by that time the other survivor would have at least tried to open a gate, but no, she was sitting on the hatch and pointed at me to go try open the gate.
I was chased, hurt, had time to heal and she didn't even try to open one of the gates, not even a little bit. I lost it. I used a locker near to make noise, ran away, killer got to her, downed her, I opened a gate and escaped while she died. I had no problem if she wanted the hatch, but just not doing anything and expecting me to try to open it and being chased again, while she just hid. Nope, I wasn't going to take that.
-
From what I have seen, matches were there is no obsession tend to make the killer tunnel more the same person that was just unhooked, because they know that no one has DS so they can just hunt down and hook the same person again, without any consequences. The idea of always having an obsession, even if there are not obsession perks in the match, seems to be a good idea.
-
I agree there should be data transfer to other platforms. I play on PS4 and have a Switch too, but I won't buy the game on the Switch knowing I have to start all over again. I have all my survivors at P3 (minus Zarina), all perks on some of them and some killers prestiged too.
-
I wish they would remove the need to mash the button to keep struggling. Make the character do it on its own. I have died many times because it did not register me mashing the button or my finger slipped.
-
The base idea is good, but I think it's overpowered with the penalties %.
-
Supernatural would be cool. Sam or Dean would be the survivor, of course. As for the killer, there are plenty of options from a lot of seasons.
-
Yesterday and today I'm getting lobbies from 300-500 or more, sometimes. Usually the ping is quite okay, but I don't know what is happening this weekend.
-
I did not like the changes to the toolboxes, because I think they were extreme. A toolbox, even a purple one, is used up very quickly, to the point I stopped using them, trading them for medkits. But this change is minor in the match, overall. Not everyone used toolboxes and it was true that gens were getting fixed too quickly. But good killers would still kill you without the toolboxes changes and bad killers would still mess up anyway. As for the hatch closing, I prefer it to hatch standoffs.
-
I understand that playing against some SWF groups is frustrating, but playing with friends is something important to a lot of people. If they remove it, a lot of players would just leave and find some other game to play with their friends. which would hurt DBD and make the waiting times even bigger.
-
I know there is a challenge to heal 8 health states from any survivor and it counts if people heal themselves, so, they might be doing it and that is why they do not want to get healed by someone else. Aside from that, sometimes people are idiots, yes.
