  • All the crap you mention is insignificant and not worth allocating resources to cause nobody cares. Really skilled players can adapt instead of whining. What players REALLY want is Moris, Moris every game in the same, predetermined location each time. Only one per match though. Nerf Pig plz.

  • Pot twist: PUBG players get DbD skins, DbD gets all the PUBG cheaters. Business as usual.

  • @Ryuhi said:

The entire situation is a good example as to why people need to stop being so damn hyperbolic with their arguments.

Survivors are saying the change will punish people trying to BM bleed out survivors, this is true. Also that it will prevent other extended slugging applications, like knockout builds. This is also true. Neither of these statements are incorrect, nor are they bad.

Killers are saying that these changes will completely kill valid strategies, which is true. They are also saying that it will have a direct impact on valid reasons where slugging has been forced by survivors to be the only viable response. This is also true. Neither of these statements are incorrect, nor are they good, either.

Everyone is talking at each other and nobody is listening. Both sides are correct in most of these assessments, but they're not mutually exclusive, which means the side that it is affecting negatively has valid concerns that should be addressed before the idea is attempted. Instead everyone just wants to invalidate anyone who doesn't agree with them, while they could be working out compromise and/or a plan that addresses everyone.

Notice that while everything you mention is indeed valid, there are literally no positives about the mori change and if there are they are vastly outweighed by the issues it will create. It's a bad change regardless.

  • @crogers271 said:

1: I don't know why they are getting rid of the current Mori system, seems like that could still stay with the new addition.

2: I think it adds on a good, quicker finish to the game. Lugging the survivors to the hooks when they are all down is a pointless excursion.

Sure it ends the game quicker I'm all about that, but it feels extremely forced when the solution makes a bunch of other perks obsolete. Does that mean all the other stuff they said about changing the meta, perk usage, etc was just bs? It's contradictory at best.

Did you just ignore the part about them getting a rework?

Yes because behavior always follows through with their promises in a timely manner. Just like console optimizations which they announced a few years ago…oh wait.

  • Looks like OP got rolled by a team with a map offering. Let’s assume your argument is valid and players in lobby shouldn’t get to decide what map to go to. Then according to you it should be the game, right? Well I’m glad it isn’t cause thanks to my map offerings I’ve avoided going to RPD for the past few weeks while it’s on high rotation. This sounds like a classic case of git gud. I’ll take Ormond or Cowshed any day of the week over the pile of diodo that’s RPD. So no, bhvr shouldn’t get rid of map offerings just so you have a chance at winning.

  • @Rizzo said:

You can still report them with the same procedure.

As long as you reported in game flagging the match, Support can access the information needed to take action on the user, so when you open the ticket you don't have to give the SteamID64 and profile link.

Thanks for responding. The reason I’m worried is that the devs have said it themselves that in game reports do nothing unless you submit a ticket so I need video evidence, but if the video has no way of identifying the player in question it wouldn’t really help much I guess? Does that mean support has logs for every match so they know for example, if a player was moving faster than the game would allow?

  • @rupexo said:

so tired of getting this map every game! started bringing offerings for different maps just for a change of scenery lol

I’m doing the same. Im happy to burn through all my offerings if that means I don’t have to play that dogwater map.

Not me personally, but a streamer I regularly watch was unable to access profiles of those in streamer mode

Ok then I guess that’s intentional. Good job bhvr.

  • Surprised nobody’s mentioned that while yes there are now some holes in the ground allowing you to drop down, you still can’t easily reach the upper floor without having to take a detour. The fact that they didn’t add a single new way to go upstairs is just…depressing. But hey at least you can still enjoy the feeling of being right under an almost done gen and not being able to do anything to stop it.

So as long as you bless your totem on the second floor that totem ain’t going nowhere for the entire match.

  • @scoser said:

So people can turn on that mode and then just spam racial slurs in post game chat and you can't report them? GG BHVR.

Tbf it’s possible that it was an issue on my end so hopefully someone can clarify..

  • Nope. I wasn't able to see their profile. "Block" was the only option I got.

  • This is what happens when you try to bandaid core issues of the game with perks.

  • @Maelstrom808 said:

I mean, anything that has an aura or burst ability works like that right? Boons take advantage of it best, but Starstruck, Jolt, the new info perk, etc all get value out of the same mechanic.

Yes, you're correct, but I think that's comparing apples to oranges. The examples you mentioned do work similarly but don't really create a disadvantage for one side the same way boon totems do.

  • What they announced isn't a ping system. Just an icon saying that claudette is self-caring doesn't really help much when it comes to coordinating a play or a save. Plus, a ping system in addition to having their actions on their portrait would make the game way more interactive for solo q players. Pretending that it's not okay to tell your team the killer dropped the chase is disingenuous when swf teams will have that information regardless, so why not just make it a new aspect of the game?

  • I don't get why people keep complaining about Deathslinger ADS when it's just fine atm and also fair for survivors. The only difference is that it now takes more than one braincell to to run tiles. The terror radius is what needs to be looked at, and perhaps Modified Ammo Belt could be basekit? But no, he doesn't need quickscoping to do well.

People saying Blight/Nurse players are “parentless. “

People calling those who use DH “subhuman.”

People ragging about people using meta perks and somehow considering that “toxic”.

Literally can’t go a day in game or on any social media without seeing some toxic crybaby complaining about people using stuff in the game that isn’t inherently toxic.

The amount of racial slurs and threats I get thrown at me for *using BLIGHT* and the perpetrators think they’re 100% justified in doing so.

it’s cringy as all hell. (And no, I don’t want to hear how “another game does it worse” like they’re trying to scrub aside the issue. Every game has this, but its very high in DBD).

anyways I made bombin’ pancakes and I’m proud of my self

That's odd. I play Blight every day at high mmr and aside from the usual salty comments like ur bad, lmao ez, etc, I can't recall a single time I've been called out just for playing Blight, let alone any racial slurs. I have a feeling you are grossly overestimating the amount of toxic comments you are receiving. By the way, if your threshold for negative comment, on the internet mind you, is that low, turning off the endgame chat is always an option. If you choose to keep it on don't expect people to cater to your sensibilities.

As if BHVR already censoring the chat in an M-rated game wasn't enough.

  • @Slowpeach said:

So annoyed they didn't nuke this thing from orbit. Ultimately it loses some things but gains others. It can still be used for distance if you use it when you are 1 second away from safety.

Scariest thing? You can use to safely unhook. Sure nice against camping but that'll basically make the perk mandatory and make bullying an absolute joy.

It will still be the most used perk by far.

I can see this being run even more often than now.

  • @legacycolt said:

Next week there’s a PTB, then we’ll see how things go. I don’t like some of these changes either but bhvr is always willing to change some things after they’re being tested in the PTB

Are they? I wouldn't put my money on it. Historically the devs almost never make substantial changes to anything after the PTB. The only times I've actually seen the devs do a 180 is because of external pressure, ie. the colorblind fiasco or the new UI being unplayable.

  • @Adjatha said:

Maybe someone can explain this to me:

If you press E, you get a 1 second bubble that protects you from a hit. If you get hit during that bubble, you get a sprint burst AND don't take any damage.

So, if the killer is close enough to hit you, you just press E, take no damage, and get a speed boost to get to the window/pallet/whatever.

Isn't that exactly how the old one worked? I guess now you don't get the added movement if they AREN'T close enough to hit you, but what's the point of Dead Harding if they're not close enough to hit you? This iteration also removes survivors accidentally Dead Harding into a corner or a wall.

Sure feels like this 'nerf' is actually a shadow buff.

My point exactly. I don't think people realize how much of a time waster an extra hit can be. Multiple that by 4 worst case scenario, multiple times per game and killers will have a much worse time than they do now. At least on a deadzone DH does nothing currently, but with the new one they'll be able to use the speed boost to get to the next pallet or window anyway. I don't see how people are claiming it's a nerf when it's obviously a net buff.

  • It's an outdated mechanic but the devs don't care enough to address it. They have other priorities. Simple as that.

  • I have to agree with everyone here. The stun change makes no sense. DS was bugged a while back and the stun was reduced unintendedly. It was a tunnel fest. They just don't learn...

  • Please NO. One killer usually breaks the game one way or another. Imagine the amount of bugs two unique killer powers would cause. See, it isn’t as simple as just adding a new mechanic and calling it a day, spaghetti code doesn’t work like that.

Trust me it’s in your best interest not to have two killers released at the same time.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002351#Comment_3002351

My condolences. Swear for this event Dead Hard should have made survivors trip and throw a tantrum on the floor and NoED should just make fireworks happen where the totem is and have no other effect.

I don't care if they have 4 DH 4 UB CoH etc. That's what I expect every game. You obviously missed the point so let me spell it for you again: everybody sweats. People should just get over it.

    Also nobody should run noed.

  • @Sluzzy said:

This is a casual warning to not play survivor during the event. Killers are sweating profusely during event even when 5 event offerings are using. The first two matches I played were against Onis and they would hook, pretend to leave, and then come right back and tunneled people off the hook. Also slugged everyone.

Killers are not punished for this. It is very easy to do this and they still get 30K+ while survivors all get less than 10K.

Dear BHVR, balance your game and make it a level playing field so both survivors and killers have equal chances of winning and getting equal amount of bloodpoints. One person shouldn't have the ability to deny bloodpoints to 4 others.

Ahh yes OP, killers are definitely the only ones sweating during the event. By the way, here's a screenshot of my first event game as killer where survivors definitely weren't sweating.

    1.png

Both sides sweat. You're full of #########.

  • I recently found out you can control the height of Victor’s pounce to an extent. Looking up while pouncing will allow you to go through windows…I probably put in a few hundred hours on the Twins before I realized this…before I just assumed Victor couldn’t jump through windows.

There are vaults on the second floor of the grim pantry.

You can tell when a survivor is starting a vault if they’re carrying an item because it’ll briefly disappear during the animation.

If you drop a pallet and the Wraith is still cloaked, instead of running away just keep vaulting it and he’ll be forced to uncloak in order to break it.

  • @Remedicist said:

If the scourge hooks are going to have this level of randomness, then at least the basement hooks should always be scourge hooks to have some consistency. Or if they want to make monstrous shrine a slightly better perk, it should maybe become a scourge hook perk to give some value to itself and allow for consistency in using the basement hooks. I prefer the monstrous shrine method of making basement scourge hooks, though, since some coding could probably make the normal scourge hooks spawn some distance away from each other with some randomness involved.

If Monstrous Shrine actually turned basement hooks into scourged hooks it’d actually be worth running, but then it may be too much of an incentive to never leave the basement and wait for survivors to trade hooks. If you combined it with Pain Resonance I think it’d be a bit unhealthy.

  • I'm just going to continue dropping these here just to show how BS hook spawns can be...

With the new chapter they made a fix for a few cases where killers would get teleported to the wrong side of the pallet. The 'fix' turned those few instances into many.

I literally chuckled cause that's classic Behaviour. So hit validation is broken again? Was it even there to begin with or did they disable it before?

  • My guess is that it's either an oversight or in true BHVR fashion they did it like that to avoid bugs with locker targeting. If the game prioritizes the unlocked locker then you can still lock paired lockers twice.

Btw didn't he said it himself that teleporting wasn't going to be his primary chase power? I don't see how that's remotely game breaking compared to other issues in the game.

  • I went on that map 5 times in a row. I get that new maps are on high rotation, but I think they overdid it this time. Still better than RPD but I've had to start burning McMillan offerings cause otherwise, for me at least, is Gideon, Eyrie of crows, new map, new map, new map, Haddonfield. Repeat.

  • All hail Spaghetti code!

  • Nobody with 7k hours would be asking to go back to MMR. You sir, are full of crap.

  • OP is the reason Behaviour is so scared of making killers strong. Nurse, Spirit and Blight have been at the top of every tier list for years. There's nothing wrong with shaking things up a bit every once in a while.

Unless you think the legion is A wEe BiT oVeRpOwErEd, in which case you're part of the problem.

  • @TruEternity said:

Really Rpd is worse? Not at all, it doesn't have near infinites with window vaults, and absolute deadzones everywhere else. I would rather play Rpd all day then play Haddonfield once.

You should apply to work in BHVR's balancing team. You'll fit right in.

  • Uhm, RPD would like to have a word with you...

  • AFAIK Shadow Dance never affected lockers. It's always been kicking and vaulting. That being said, BHVR has always been like this when it comes to fixing, hell even acknowledging bugs at all. I don't see why you would expect anything different at this point. It is what it is. They don't want to go the extra mile. The sooner you accept this the sooner you'll stop caring.

  • @Brokenbones said:

I feel super relieved that people keep making threads about this

we're all suffering through the blurry mess together

Sadly I think it's gonna be a while before someone figures out how to disable it.

  • Nahh, he's not nearly as bad as people on this forum would have you think. It's just that now it takes more than one braincell to play him effectively.

I've actually been playing Deathslinger almost exclusively for the past month or so and I can stand my ground just fine against pretty much any team. Not to mention to me he's the most fun killer to play as. Lots of cheeky stuff you can do even w/o quickscoping which honestly felt pretty cheap before. That's just me tho, who enjoys the challenge of going against sweat squads as opposed to stomping on potato teams.

That being said, the TR increase was a bit too much in my opinion. Revert that, and he'd be a pretty fair killer to play as and against.

  • You can literally win every game with CoH atm so no, there's no need for new meta perks.

  • Outdated mechanic he says. Cries in LightBurn :'(

  • @Nathan13 said:

Every survivor has been running it forever.

Uhm, not really. At least not at this rate. I've been playing the game for a while and I think it's fair to say there's waaaay more survivors using it than there used to be. Maybe because they fixed validation?

    Very balanced

    DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping 2022-03-30 22-07-14.png

Somebody explain to me why this is ok...

  • @PlaysByShady said:

    COH is problematic because

    • It gives free healing to all survivors, at the cost of only one survivor perk. Perks like kindred only give a benefit (aura reading) to other survivors in the capacity that it helps you directly because you're on the hook. Otherwise it only works for you the rest of the time.
    • Unlike prove/leader/etc, the survivor who brought it in doesn't need to be around for you use it. You benefit just from being around the totem.
    • When it's set up, all survivors instantly know where to go because it's highlighted for them! Compare this with other aura perks (bond, better together, etc) that only reveal information in a limited radius
    • It allows heals faster than regular self-care or healing via another survivor; so not only does it allow the same thing as self-care, but faster and more universal too
    • It has a wide area in which it can work, unlike the extremely localised effects of prove/leader/urban/etc. Imagine prove thyself being buffed that it worked on all gens, regardless if you were there or not!
    • It doesn't run out like medkits, etc
    • It can never be eliminated by the killer, unlike items which could be destroyed by Franklins, or other once-only perks. This can be set up multiple times, to work again and again and again... whereas DS only works once, BT only works for unhooks (so one survivor can only use it 6x max in a trial), Adrenaline works once, Unbreakable works once, etc

All of those effects combined into a single perk makes it exceptionally OP. And then when you have multiple survivors bringing it into a trial (so you could have 4 totems booned), that makes for ridiculous matches.

So for survivors saying it's fine, please explain this BS?

That pretty much sums it up. I would add that it also works on multiple floors making it extremely time-wasting for the killer to keep on snuffing out the totem on certain maps.

I don't understand how there can be people who claim CoH isn't broken.

  • @Nathan13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2814819#Comment_2814819

They can nerf COH again if they want, but I don’t wanna hear killers complain how the survivor meta doesn’t change.

Can we change it in a way that doesn’t make the other side miserable?

  • "Every game I go against a 4-man top mmr tournament squad" -Fookin surviverfriends...a certain british streamer may be responsible for spreading this lie tbf.

    "Dead Hard takes no skill"

    "I am quitting DbD"

"[insert streamer] got a 5000 win streak, which proves the game is killer sided"

    "Killer is unplayable right now"

  • I would post a reply explaining how CoH basically negates everything OP said in that wall of text but frankly why bother. Killer powers are meaningless when one perk can remove your pressure in 20 seconds.
