  • Her apple add-on can be quite useful especially at Red Ranks where most people don't cleanse at all. It's already hard enough to hide because if the "Green stink cloud" effect and the constant coughing and vomiting...

Add this with the "Super Vomit" from that fountain being unclean, and you can drop literally 4 Survivors instantly if they're close together... It's very scary indeed.

  • @Xboned

Yes, you should just level up those perks to their max tier to get rid of them completely. The Blood-Web likes to commonly give perks that're almost finished, and if those perks are almost done they'll keep appearing more often than others.

If you keep doing what you're doing you'll eventually get the perks you want, but it's better to just get rid of them so they stop appearing all together. Some perks like to also show up sometimes 2 times or even 3 times in a row to just complete them all together, albeit is rare for that to happen...

Yes when someone gets hooked or the generator glow aura that shows up its warped when I move in the game and it's always been like that even on console it just so ugly. Ik it's the anti Aliasing but idk why its causing it to warp

That's just what happens, it warps their auras around it because... think of it as its "Zooming in" on the generator while high-lighting it... It's just to indicate that the generator is done with the audio que, or the Survivor is hooked with the screaming audio que...

It's just something that happens, Its just a visual mechanic, that's about it.

  • @MrDecisive

I'm sorry, I don't quite follow what you mean. Are you messing with the files or something to make that happen?

If you're talking about when the generator is completed or when someone gets hooked, that's naturally a thing that happens within the game.

Ya, I only do the dash attack when the BP offering gives me the +30,000.

I don't know, I think she is underrated in the sense that people try to play her as a normal Killer. She isn't a great Killer, but she's extremely disruptive with the right perks. M&A is pretty awesome on her given you can travel farther towards your target without crouching. I play Killers based on their conceptual Killing design, not necessarily their effectiveness.

    Thank you for your advice.

If you want a build (Given you have the right DLC) you can try this out, it's what I use at Red Ranks it usually works like a charm. (Despite the limitations M1 Killers has, it works pretty well)

Try this combo out: Ruin, BBQ And Chili, Brutal Strength, and Pop Goes the Weasel.

This combination is what I like to call "The stalling build" or the "Time stopper build" name still pending... It's a build I use that allows me to keep on-top of Survivors while also using my RBTs (Reverse Bear Traps) at a later time when I need them.

The way it works is that I play normally, down Survivors, break generators and regress them hard with PGTW, and while Brutal Strength speeds up the process it also assists me with pallets as well! On-top of that BBQ is the best tracking perk that gives me more points to boot, and Ruin is the catalyst that pulls it all together...

You see, once Ruin is finally broken whether at the start or later on of the match, it allows me to wait 30 seconds (Unless i'm already in a chase) and once 30 seconds are up the next person I down will get a RBT. The RBT has the natural ability to mess with Survivors mentally like with legions mend, it makes them panic and waste time removing them while on-top of that a generator somewhere should be close to popping (Unless you are effectively applying pressure)

This in turn will have Survivors waste time removing the RBTs and let me protect my generators for longer while they do it... Combine this with Tamper Timer + Crate of Gears and its a dangerous idea to keep the RBT on indeed... Since Crate of Gears makes searching Billy boxes take longer which is NOT a good idea... and Tampered Timer capitalizes on that time wasted by reducing the timer by 30 seconds, making it instantly kill them at 2 minutes rather than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Try it out! You can even substitute Over Charge for Brutal Strength if you'd like, or The Pigs unique perk Surveillance to keep track of gens you hit with PGTW with the white aura they emit after being kicked.

Please, go watch Stranger Things and you won't regret it one bit. It's really an amazing show. Actually as I meantioned... (mild spoiler) that is Eleven's room. She did that to that guy, when she smashed open the door, not the Demogorgon.

Will do, I've been meaning to binge watch the series when I got the chance. I'll keep that in mind in the future!

  • @StupidPallets

It's a lingering effect that comes on slow when you crouch and fades away when standing up. It's especially good for using on short loops with the dash attack and simple mind-games, as well as sneaking up on Survivors if you have the time to do so.

Don't dash attack when sneaking up on generators though, as they'll hear it and unless there is nowhere to safely run to to avoid the hit, you'll most likely miss the attack due to the "Lions Roar" that she makes when she dashes... Just crouch, sneak up, than stand up and normally hit them.

  • Yeah, that also could be the reason since his email confirmation isn't... confirmed yet.

What is the special gen? I suppose it's the one on the third floor right?

Previously I thought it was the one with that room that has the giant portal, but its actually just that generator only one person can do upstairs. It's called the "Isolation Room" Since it's literally just a small room with no windows and a padded walls and ceiling.

From what I could gather, it looked like the Demogorgon came out of that room considering the guy who's on the floor looked like he was flung right outside of the doorway into the wall.

  • Amazing... The Spirit especially looks the best out of the 4...

I feel like Beast Marks and Tuning Guide with a little bit faster charging movement speed should be how it is, it's all he needs.

I think in-general they just need to boost base-kit to have a faster movement speed while in his chainsaw frenzy, while also giving him the ability to charge his chainsaw to 99% while also letting it go down just like Billy, while removing the cool-down effect.

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

No unique add ons, insta charge and speed add ons are the only good ones, off numbers, his power actually hurts you, too slow, no pressure, good for camping primarily and that's it.

Basically, that's why I believe personally he should get the rework/buff. Everything is weighted in his disadvantage with the current meta, and the only real way to be effective is to use Enduring + Spirit Fury and for add-ons either Beast Marks + Tuning Guide or Scratch Marks + Primer Bulb.

Idk, it could bring back some of old Legion problems

I like Legion, they just aren't all that fun to play for me

And all you have to do to not get hit from their frenzy is to be 10 meters away and run in a straight line

Basically, but sometimes even then some people get hit regardless. I think removing the mend mechanic all together and focusing on the aspect of rushing down a Survivor would be a different yet effective way to change it up.

Yeah, I'll just level my Kate now. She's P3-50 with all the perks so if anybody's got the chance it's her. Thanks for the replies, man.

I mean, let's hope it's just unluckiness. Then I may be able to get the new map. I just re-installed the game again in hopes that may have fixed it. fingers crossed.

It is just unluckiness unfortunately, it doesn't have anything to do with your game. The map and the offerings are hard enough to get as is, but if you continue to level say... a Killer or Survivor who's P3-50, the spawn rate for them increases tremendously compared to the base spawn rate.

This is due to how many nodes the Blood-Web produces now, but also because the higher pretiged tiers grant a better chance at getting rarer drops.

  • @LCGaster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/726151#Comment_726151

All I really want for Legion is making them faster and some other tweaks

Now that Feral Frenzy isn't lethal why should they be so slow

Perhaps focus more on a different mechanic which rely's on multiple hits to down someone but there isn't a mend timer in-general? It will stay true to the concept of his character being someone who's in a team of teenagers that rushes down their victim to the bone.

I have leveled Demo to p3-50+, both Steve and Nancy to 40. Literally 0 offerings in either of their bloodwebs for the new map.

The map offering is harder to find than the rest for some reason, possible due to it being new of the spawn rate being so low for them.

If you keep leveling your P3-50 Demo or Steve and Nancy after P1, you'll eventually get one.

Legion deserved a proper rework. His power now is just giving survivors paper cuts and slowly vaulting stuff.

It stays true to the methods that Pre-Patch Legion had, which is he can have people mend and waste so much time healing while he can use Thanato to slow progress and force healing, as well as nurses to see who's healing...

That's how I can still play him at Red Rank without Ruin. But regardless, you're right that the mending process isn't really as rewarding as it used to be, and overall the concept should be changed to focus less of wasting time and more on the dangers of mending as a whole.

    @LCGaster said:

As much as I love Wraith

Legion is just so unfun to play as and against now

For me I use the same tactics like before with Pre-Patch, I stated it above in Boosted_Dwights Quote, but what I mean by that is personally I can still have fun with him while also maintaining the game at Red Ranks thanks to Thanato and Nurses, as well as BBQ and Pop Goes the Weasel.

But overtime that method has gotten boring as well, and he could use something that could focus less on wasting time and more on the dangers of mending as a Survivor... and why you should do it. Maybe give him certain map icons to go to like The Pig or Freddys clocks to go heal at? A healing station specific to Legion? I don't know...

  • Personally, either the power needs to be reworked or they need to think of a way to actively work around what people hated the most about his Pre-Patch version...

While I wouldn't really think a rework would fix it all, and it would just kill what made him unique in the first place... I think a change to his add-ons and overall a small change to his basekit would benefit him greatly.

Not close to what he originally was, but just a bit stronger. And the Add-on changes would great benefit him as well, as the ability to down people through FF hits doesn't exist anymore (Well it does, it's just extremely hard and not worth it...) so I think they should just remove that ability to do so all together.

  • @Rachelhunter

Also side note, why does your game run like that? Just curious... Not trying to come off as insulting.

  • @Rachelhunter

I'm pretty sure what you heard was speculation on changing her power, I know for sure they want to change her add-ons in some way to remove the "Omega Blink" that she can have with the right add-on combo...

As for her power, I think the controversy surrounding it is why the power is going to stay the way it is (With some future minor tweaks) but the add-ons possible won't be.

  • @sundowave

No, you're just extremely unlucky unfortunately... As the map was spawning in for me... no actively, but semi-actively during the first day. For me, I was able to get all the achievements (Except Denied! that was impossible to get on the first day) ON the first day, and I was lucky enough to get a offering for the map to go there and get a team that was willing to help me survive to get the achievement for that map.

I'm sorry to hear you're not able to get the map consistently, or at all... But I think because of how many maps there are, it's quite hard to land on it in the first place normally. In your case, you're just EXTREMELY unlucky to not get it within 50 hours...

  • @Greed

Not that i'm aware of, the achievement itself really is unique when it comes to being the only one that takes the longest as well as being its own stand-alone progress.

The achievement requires a lot of time and dedication to really get it unlocked, while also keeping the Survivor within a good state of mind when it comes to protecting and helping his teammates.

I can't give you an exact answer on why it isn't as easy nor is it retroactive with the other achievements, but I can say for sure that the achievements intentions was to symbolize the character it was attached to, as if you're unaware...

    Spoiler alert... but not really...

Around Left 4 dead 2, Bill actually is seen dead in one of the later levels of the game... Which is why he ties together with his achievement and overall with the game as someone who's canonically dead, but also somewhere else in a different universe. (That part where he's in DBD isn't canon i'm pretty sure...)

So in turn, the achievement is on the right track with what its supposed to symbolize, but does that make it any less easier? No... the achievement itself is a challenge indeed, and overall is considered the hardest achievement to get, through time and somewhat through skill in some regards as well... As getting these points towards it in a regular match is kinda... hard... to do...

I had to decide between Pig and Clown.

I would like to vote for both.

Pig got some changes in past updates I am not happy with.

Clown's power is good on chases and fun to use but he needs something for map pressure.

It would be cool if his afterpiece tonic would have effects on the survivor over time. Similiar how doctor can make them crazy or Plague can make them sick. Or maybe he could trap gens that they make a smoke cloud once a survivor works on it

Sadly I couldn't offer you an option for both, but I do agree that The Pig could also use some work with her add-ons and base-kit power as well! And yes, The Clown could also use help in the department of map pressure as well, and his power overall.

I thought I edited the comment before my internet died when I posted it... I actually caught what she was from right after I posted it lmao...

I'll edit it to reflect that, but yeah I know who all these Killers, Creatures, etc are from. It just depends if they're practical for a game like DBD due to height, who's already in the game, etc... Or even... the situation with the Jeepers Creepers thing...

  • Sorry for the wall of text, read the TL;DR @HealsBadMan if you want a shorter version for a smaller summary.

  • @HealsBadMan

    Long version

For me, this is how I personally play her, so you can derive some points from what i'm about to tell you or not. (Note, some of these points I make can still be used regardless if you have the DLC or perks to utilize these points.)

Personally, when I play The Pig, I utilize her ability to stall the game as much as possible. How do I do this? Well, because of how the RBTs (Reverse Bear Traps) work in DBD, I built a build around allowing me to down Survivors, hook them, than kick the generators they were working on to regress them heavily thanks to Pop Goes the Weasel (A unique Clown perk) which can be used after hooking someone.

The build I use is as followed, this can be changed up depending on what DLC you own. But this is basically what I use on The Pig... I use Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, Brutal Strength, and BBQ and Chili. These perks in combination allows me to slow down generator progress in a fast manner when kicking them, and regress them heavily when PGTW is active after hooking someone. I can stall the game as long as I can with these until the Ruin is broken, once it is broken THAN I begin to use my RBTs on newly downed Survivors...

Don't use RBTs on the first downed Survivor, yes it will stall them, but overall it's best to use RBTs when less generators are on the field to monitor and can allow you to protect the smaller amount of generators you have... The less generators to monitor, the overall easier it is to find Survivors, protect those generators because not many are on the map, and a faster potential for a snowball.

The way the RBTs work is that they're primarily used to begin "The Game" on Survivors once a generator is complete with the RBT on, and once the timer is up they die instantly. What I like to use them for is to waste Survivors time removing them while I down other Survivors after... This keeps them OFF generators and overall allows me to continue the snowball of downing other Survivors while they remove their RBT. Combined with Crate of Gears + Tampered Timer, this combo can really have Survivors panic and sometimes even die because of the time wasted removing them...

It truly is something similar to Legions mending + Thanatophobia... Survivors REALLY want to heal cause of the Thanatophobia penalty's, but the penalty's really don't harshly effect game-play... Its something to do with how Survivors think mentally, they see a RBT as a instant death so they want it off as fast a possible, same with Thanatophobia, it slows the game down too much, but in reality both can be worked around... but 9 out of 10 Survivors refuse to have both stick around...

Also, what I do at short loops with pallets is use my ambush attack to rush Survivors around the pallet when they think it's a good time to continue the loop... In turn, when I'm crouched I face one direction while charging, charge that way, but instantly reverse to hit the Survivor around the loop. This makes them think I was going to chase them in one direction but I doubled-back around. This also is effective if Survivors know about this mind-game, and instead you can fake a double back when in reality you're just going in a straight foward rush around the loop.

Remember though, The Pig is naturally an M1 Killer, and she is as limited as every other M1 Killer around loops, big window loops like Iron Works and Wretched Shop, and other things that M1 Killers are very much limited to... Such as map mobility, map pressure (Depending on power) and etc.

Also, RBTs instantly Kill Survivors when they attempt to leave the game through the exit gate with a RBT on... At a certain point at the Exit gate, the RBT flashes red and moving closer to the end instantly Kills them. This doesn't apply to the last Survivor, they can simply walk out the gate scott free, and the same applies to if the last Survivor or multiple Survivors exit through the escape hatch with RBTs on...

    tl;dr

Use her ambush attack at short loops and fake the direction you're going to use the rush attack so the Survivor makes the mistake of going in the opposite direction and doubles back. Or, just brute force if by going in one direction because the Survivor is thinking you're going to mind-game.

Also, utilize perks like Ruin, Overcharge, Pop Goes the Weasel, and even Surveillance, a unique The Pig perk that allows her to monitor generators she has kicked with a white aura, once it turns yellow that means someone is working on that generator again... These perks combined with the stalling potential of RBTs allows The Pig to really slow the game down tremendously. Even without Ruin or Overcharge or Pop Goes the Weasel, you can still use perks like Surveillance, Brutal Strength, Corrupt Intervention, etc... (A few of these perks require different DLC, so remember that...)

Also, use her RBTs wisely, don't use them instantly on the first downed Survivor but instead use them after for example... your Ruin breaks or 1 generator is completed. The RBTs are useful for stalling the game and keeping Survivors off generators to instead remove the RBT. (Again, RBT means Reverse Bear Trap.)

One thing to note, the last Survivor won't die at the exit gate with a RBT on, but more than one Survivor with the RBT on WILL die at the exit gate if they attempt to leave... This means if one dies at the exit gate, and one is left, they'll still die if they attempt to exit the trial.

    Trapper.

While he's not the worst, he is pretty bad.

He's the first character and the mascot of the game, so its a bit odd that he's so bad.

His power and addons are postively archaic and needs some major updating.

Several of his addons should just become base kit, his other addons should be reworked, some general quality of life fixes here and there.

I agree with this, as he's not the worst Killer but one of the long time faces of DBD that hasn't been treated the best over the years either.

  • You realize most of these tier lists are biased, so of course others opinions don't reflect yours.

For example, I don't think Myers is F tier for how fun he is to play. But that doesn't co-exist with your opinion that he isn't fun.

  • What do you mean by now? Wasn't Spirit always Top-Tier out the door from the PTB...

Also, I use all my P3-50 Killers at Red Ranks in Rank 1, this means I use Killers like The Pig, Myers, Freddy, Legion, The Plague, GhostFace, Demogorgon. I have P3-50 LeatherFace also, but i'm not looking to gain a migraine lol...

I never said they weren't annoying, I can be quite biased on opinions when I play killers, but the biggest problem for me isnt the requirements, rather the momentum change. There have been several cases where I question on my own screen how I hit a survivor after they fast vaulted.

It's fairly easy actually, you either

A.) Bait the Vault if its at the T-Wall & L-Wall with mind-games.

B.) You can double back around the shack pallet now since the only way to fast vault that window now is to go inside the shack, you can't just do magic man angles anymore outside and fast vault out there anymore.

Or C.) Can't hit them at all because it's a loop until you catch up to them (Because window loops from a dead era of DBD still exist like Wretched Shop, or Iron-Works)

Many different options besides those three points, but in regard to the momentum change... the momentum change didn't do anything besides making already pre-established infinites from like I said... a dead era of DBD a lot shorter than they need to be. You can still effectively use windows with the momentum change, I've literally PHYSICALLY seen SWFs do this at the shack tile and other such tiles.

The momentum change didn't really do anything to stop a Survivor from using window vaults, it just made it impossible for people to do exactly what they're doing in that video. Fast vaulting by sliding into the window like we're on a ice rink...

    Edit

    Nevermind...

  • It's acting weird for some people, for me since the MM patch it's only gotten extremely better.. I suppose you fall under the ladder that only has increased wait times instead...

    Sorry to hear that.

  • Because the game doesn't currently punish DCing as effectively as it should, that's why we hold out hopes for dedicated servers to fix that.

In-general, if the Survivors don't like something the Killers doing, they can just pull the plug and move on. Kind of unfair how they just manipulate the DC system to their advantage, and its overall disgusting tbh...

  • It was changed around a lot because Survivors could fast vault at angles and overall routes that shouldn't have been possible...

It was overall a headache facing it as a Killer, and the change only just made a lot of loops a bit shorter because they were already too long as is. Nobody wants to get looped around the shack window because you can fast vault the window at any angle...

The game is currently having issues for some people, or in-general with the connection to the game. I've noticed this too at Red Ranks but not to this degree.

It has something to do with the hosts connection to the match, and the clients as well. And it's something that i'm sure is being looked into at the moment.

Unfortunately, I can't say when it'll be fixed, all I know is that it is being looked into at this moment in time. If you do desire to report the issue to them on the off chance you think they don't actually know about this issues, i'll provide the link below for you to submit a ticket.

It's just a personal enjoyment I get out of the game now, as in the past it was about many things due to everything being new to me.

But I almost have like 11 Killers P3-50 now, and have slowed down to conserve the progress for later, that, and I also almost have all the achievements done, the only issue is the Taking One For The Team one, which takes awhile.

What i'm saying is, it's just something to look forward too when playing, as the same motivation I had as a noob doesn't exist anymore these days. But we'll see what the future holds.

It's more of a cute novelty than anything else, and like I said, it probably wouldn't be worth implementing.

It'd probably be a sort of small addition than anything if it was ever considered, since it would just be progressively added overtime on-top of whatever the main things that're coming out.

That's basically it, just a novelty.

  • Hope the future is more kind to you! And whether it is unlikely we'll see you again, it was nice to have you be a part of the DBD community!

Take care, wherever you may end up in the future.

Playing against SWF can be both fun and frustrating, for sure :P

The best advice I could give anyone that feels frustration is to always play your matches out - I literally cannot count the number of games vs 3-4 man SWF I've loaded into with a 'bad' killer (played Trapper all throughout 2x BP because I was pretty much super shrekked all weekend and turned my brain off ;3 ), had ruin blow up within a minute, 2-3 gens pop within a the first couple of minutes, got clowned around by the survivor in my first chase, so there's 1-2 gens left, and still got 3-4 multi-hook kills.

Granted, there are some scenarios like this that may be unwinnable, but you'd be surprised how far you can get in this game (on either side) through sheer force of will/tenacity.

In-general, the best experience you'll get from the game is facing a coordinated team whether its a SWF or not. Coms or no coms, if the team knows what to do they'll do it correctly without fail.

That doesn't mean its impossible, its just that it'll be a lot harder than a standard team, which I absolutely strive to find when playing as Killer, as the regular standard matches get so boring over time its ridiculous...
