Hey, a votes a vote my friend ha ha.

Wouldn't this be in players guides if this is a guide?
-
I was hoping a Hallowed Blight Legion would come out tbh, but that'd kinda only work if they gave all 4 or 2 of the Legion gang the Blight skins.
That's probably why they didn't choose them this time... this time... (Maybe one day...)

Simply outstanding!

Still, that's essentially exactly what I described: trying to push players into a specific playstyle. Playing stealthily and avoiding aggravating the killer isn't the same as being immersed all game and just letting all your teammates die. It's great that taking risks and winning chases is rewarded, but it's not great that that is the only strategy which is. In my opinion, the best, most varied, most fun and most interesting games are always those which give players the freedom to experiment with different builds and playstyles without being punished for it.
It's just how the system is, it rewards staying within the guidelines of one set playstyle i'm afraid. We might never truly see something where the emblem will reward a more reclusive playstyle.
BUT WHO KNOWS! We'll have to wait and see 👌

Yes he did but Billy is most balanced of all of them, I even think that he is the most balanced in the game.
So yeah i suppose that the cycles will continue that way but he might not be the key. Sure add-ons nurse , Prayer beads spirit , Insta-saw billy can be unfun or OP in the right hand but it's kind of necessary who's gonna beat those SwF after all.
I don't think its for SWFs for the most part, its more so just who is the Top-Tier is all... Since you DO need a Top-Tier for a tier list to be complete that is...
And yes, Billy is actually one of the most balanced and fleshed out Killers I've ever had the pleasure of P3-50ing back in the day...

I'm not saying evader is a stupid name, personally I like it, but I was just trying to explain why the person you were responding to was claiming it didn't make sense. And I think that's the whole point of this thread, that stealth shouldn't be a byproduct, it should be just as important as winning chases. Certain aspects of the emblem system are geared towards forcing a particular playstyle by making it the only viable one, which is something I'm always against in games.
I think the point of why it doesn't reward stealth is because that's exactly what it is trying to prevent.
The emblem rewards danger, it rewards distraction and also being able to WIN said chase or "distraction" for your team to progress generators within the Trial. If you played immersive the entire match while letting your other teammates take the chases instead, that'd just waste your chance to give the others some room to breathe while also using up some of your hook times.
As each Survivor only gets 2 hooks before the 3rd kills them, and by not taking chases and inevitably succumbing to the chase to get hooked... you won't actually be helping your teammates who will instead be more susceptible to being killed by their 3rd hook.
Think of it as a uh... "exchange" or something. You go out and get chased, possible lose said chase or not. If so, than you bought your team some time to do generators and get back on their feet, if not you bought someone another "hooking" because you're using up your free chances for them.
The exchange rewards being able to win these chases, taking the gamble to be rewarded but also being able to assist your team in more ways than just doing gens... Which I feel is the main flaw that some Survivors don't see when they focus only on doing generators rather than taking the agro.
-
Claudette because originally I liked the stealth concept when I first tried out Survivor with previous knowledge of her capabilities.
But now when I play her the stealth is just a bonus, which overall does help me lose chases quite often...
For the most part though, I do enjoy rescuing and healing other Survivors as well as being the scout to break Ruin and progress the game for my team.

I think any Killer that's Top-Tier has been asked to be nerfed anyways. Like Nurse, Billy, and Spirit now. It's just a cycle that happens I suppose...

The name makes sense, if that's actually what it does. I think the person's point was that it rewards stealth so minimally that it might as well be called Chaser because that's all it really takes into account.
Stealth is just a bi-product. If you truly want to level up the emblem you need to actually be chased and evade the chase. Also, i'm pretty sure Chaser is already taken on Killer side anyways...
Besides, calling it chaser doesn't make sense. Who are you chasing? Aren't you the one being chased... That's why it's called evader. While the term can mean many things like evading the Killer through stealth, or evading a chase... The primary term is towards being chased and evading said chase, if it was focusing on anything else that could level it up than it would be called Stealther...
-
New people, different takes with their experience with her I suppose. Most of what I've seen is about Prayer Beads and the concept of how hard it is to know if she's mind-gaming or not because of the passive phasing she does at loops.
At least, that's all I've seen to why some people hate her.

I was disappointed, I really wanted (and still wish that we got) Amanda as a survivor for that chapter.
If we're talking within the lore of the movies, Amanda wasn't probably picked because she wasn't a "Survivor" for the majority of the movies... Yes, her background shows that she wasn't originally with Jigsaw at the beginning, but for the only time's that was shown, it was in flashbacks or clips.
It made sense to have her as the Killer, Jigsaw was weak and frail from... well... I don't know if I can spoil things about it, but you get what I mean. He wasn't suitable, now... to give a devoted and obsessed disciple the role or Killer, while also staying true to her concept of being quite... unfair... and that's a good pick indeed.
Either her, or it would've been Hoffman. But I feel Hoffman never really was as devoted as Amanda was when it came to Jigsaws vision, especially during the later parts before... well... you know.
-
It depends, for one a Survivor a controller can actually 360 pretty well (Or so I've heard from other consoles users.)
As for M&K Vs Controller, Yes M&K is superior with Killer due to the ability to navigate and chase easier with a M&K while side-walking or moonwalking. While I believe you can do this with a controller, it's much easier with a M&K.
Also, swinging, lunging, hitting Survivors in-general is easier to do since you can turn your Killers direction on a dime.
-
@MegsAreEvil said:
The evader emblem is just totaly useless when being sneaky. The name should be switched to Chaser like killer side or damn fix the emblem for stealth.
I mean it makes sense, you "evaded" the chase through stealth in the Killers terror radius, or you "evaded" the chase by either hiding them them during it or broke the chase entirely.
That's what it really boils down to.
-
Match making will find anyone who is suitable if it can't find someone that is of their similar rank.
For example, if a Rank 10 waits 10 minutes for a match, that either means there are no Rank 10s from their region or time-frame available at the moment, or the match making couldn't detect them because they're already in another lobby...
So, what it does is it gathers up everyone who's above or below your rank, and matches you with them until it finds suitable candidates. That's why when I play with Red Ranks as a Rank 1, and I start up a lobby that loads instantly, it will find Survivors that're of my rank, but it will also put ahead Survivors that have waited a long time in-front of those people that're my rank.
Hence why I sometimes get Rank 6s and 16s... (It's rarer to get Yellow Ranks, its more so Green or Purple.)
-
I mean, a perk slot for a perk slot is a fair trade don't you think? Plus, Stridor isn't completely useless outside of just the iron will user... but it isn't OP for it to really matter.
If you use Iron Will, you should expect Stridor to be used (But it's highly unlikely a Killer would even know you have Iron Will... So it doesn't even matter.)
-
Claudette: I'll bring heals to the match so I can rescue people and stealth my way to them :D
Also Claudette: We only have 3 people left? Guess i'll go hide somewhere...
(This is obviously a joke btw...)
-
Clearly she's found a way to escape The Entity's grasp and only truly sticks around because the game of hide & seek is too fun...

@Phox said:
Plague deserves a rework more than anyone imo. Because just like this poll she gets forgotten by everyone. I don’t think any other killer gets denied their power like her. It’s sad.
She wasn't put on this poll because she doesn't need a massive Rework/Buff like these Killers do.
These Killers have been like this for months, or even YEARS before they've seen any change. (Not all of them of course) and that's why they were chosen and The Plague was not.
The Plague can actually be very dangerous due to how people would rather risk it by not healing than heal in-general. Either way if they heal or not she can be very dangerous due to her Vile Purge Upgrade, or because everyone is put into the Injured state leaving them to be one shot downed. If everyone is hurt, it creates deadlocks in the map where no pallets are, and that can lead to a big issue.
Killers like The Clown for example have no map pressure, LeatherFace gets pushed over by Red Rankers, Wraith is still just an M1 Killer despite being invisible... Pig is PURE M1 with a stalling ability, Legion deserves justice to be quite honest, and Trapper is the face of DBD and he's quite weak compared to others...
All in all, these Killers I picked are the most commonly asked to be Reworked/Buff'ed so that's why they're on the list... I hardly ever see anyone say Plague could use a buff.
-
Pretty sure how Evader works is that it defines your ability to not be detected within his Terror Radius while also being able to break chases.
If you haven't been chased once the entire match... this is to be expected.
edit
Was kind of tired when I wrote that, I fixed the errors.

Two things first, hello, welcome to the forums and @FireHazard, congratulations on becoming a trusted member.
Now, to the topic, I get both using and going against Ruin can get VERY boring but ultimately I don't have a issue with it.
Thank you 😁
-
I don't think they'd gut her because of some add-on changes. She'll still be Top-Tier most likely.
-
For some Killers, Ruin is actually quite needed in a regular match... especially at Red Ranks for me. For example, Myers had Ruin because he needs to slow the game down to activate his Tier ll...
Any M1 Killer also needs it due to the limitations of M1 Killers as a whole and the overall map design being against them over other Killers. There are some exceptions like Legion, Nurse, Billy, Demogorgon, etc. But even some of those Killers (Except Billy and Nurse) could use a boost in time depending on how they do.
Spirit doesn't really need Ruin either, but Killers like Clown and Pig who have a hard time applying map pressure (I'm talking basekit) do need it...
It's really hard to say my personal opinion on it, but I feel if other perks picked up the slack with reducing a bit of time (Like how Corrupt Intervention has) than i'm sure Ruin would be used a lot less... But as for how I think about it... Unless the Killer really does need it, I don't really like facing a Nurse with Ruin or a Billy with Ruin because of how they really don't need it... But it can't really be helped at times.

Well in regards to this, people at Red Ranks do that just fine to me, they either stand or even run and break me out of stalking.
They even do it behind cover and walls, so I don't know if its a rank thing or what (Also thank you!)

How do you get it, is there a requirement or do you have to be good cause I always loved the red icon
It's just a reward that symbolizes that I am apart of the trusted members, a group of specific members that have been hand picked (Or suggested by other members) that are given the privilege to join in the PILOT of the trusted members initiative... Thingy... thing.
Here's more info on it!
@not_Queen said:
Hey forum members!
Most of you have seen the new Trusted tags. We introduced them last week and we seen a lot of questions like, why them and not me? Why do this? Why is their tag everywhere?
So here goes...
What is A TRUSTED MEMBER?
Large numbers of members are joining our Community and we can say without a doubt, our Community is successful. Well, now is the time to shine a light on our key members, members that have shown us that they could contribute regularly to the community in a positive manner.
These are our objectives for the PILOT:
- Provide a sense of accomplishment for key members of our community
- Create a place where constructive discussion is promoted and encouraged
- Help our new members to find a home in this community
HOW DID WE SELECT OUR PILOT MEMBERS?
Our pilot members were selected directly from our Forum member of the month initiative. They, themselves, suggested a few more members to join the PILOT. After screening, we will be adding a few more members to the pilot, maybe you are next?
What are the expectations from the Trusted members?
For the PILOT, our expectations are simple, our members need to keep doing what they do best!
- Create discussions and / or participate on a regular basis
- Provide feedback in a constructive way
- Provide reliable information to other members
- Make the forums a welcoming place for all members
Wait, but I thought they were BHVR representative?
They are Community representative, they aren't associated with BHVR, they are not moderators. The only deal they have with us is to follow the expectations previously listed. They have shown a particularly high level of involvement over a long period and already are a positive force in the Community. They are encouraged to disagree with BHVR or any member, as long as it's done in a constructive manner.
What will happen with this program?
The PILOT is planned to run for 2 months. If we see that it yields positive outcome, we will launch the full program. The full program will include guidelines, rewards and will be opened to a larger group of Trusted members. This is our long time goal.
Can I be part of this program?
We are creating this program with the goal of having a large but limited number of participants. Our guidelines will be published when we are done with the PILOT. You might be one of our future Trusted members and you don't know yet!
This will tell you how you can be chosen to join, but the gist of it is to be a respectful, active, informative, and kind member of the DBD forums! You too could be chosen for this position, in due time of course!

You leave out the other more glaring possibility. Killers enjoy the schadenfreude. There is no need to pretend this community is full of lovely people that get along with each other. No, no. Quite the opposite. Frankly, the only time I see that personality type, the friendly killer or survivor, is when watching a streamer who makes money off of subscriber count.
I didn't mention it because frankly we don't need to draw attention to the obvious, which is some players enjoy sulking in the misery of others. But that's with every game, any game you play will have these types of people.
It's just better to look at the positives in things rather than focus on the negatives. It gives people a better state of mind and overall can be an encouraging factor to also help others gain this sense of well being as well.

If it was to be connected to a piece of the skin it should be the head
But it's very unlikely unfortunately
Also I just noticed it, congrats on the red pfp
Thank you! And yes, I wouldn't even know where to begin when it comes to having an effect with a skin.
Maybe the devs would know how to do that, but I couldn't say for sure...
-
I'm not a Legion main, i'm a Myers main. But I can play Legion at Red Ranks without Ruin, and that's because of how his mechanics work.
Because of how the mend timer mentally effects Survivors and healing in-general, I can manipulate them to focus on healing due to the powers of Thanatophobia! With Thanatophobia, I can force them to choose to either heal and reduce the penalty's OR they can stay hurt and get downed in one hit normally...
Either way, it benefits me because they waste time mending and healing, and if I find them while they're healing, my Nurses Calling will proc and scout them out in the area. Along with Pop Goes the Weasel, I can regress generators they DO work on and with BBQ I can track their auras while also gaining a BPs boost. This allows me to already take advantage of the best farmer in the game which is Legion, he can even "Force Farm" Survivors due to FF being such a good source of deviousness points as well as Brutality points as well!
The build I made really doesn't have a downside, but it isn't perfect... You can still beat me by simply just... healing... the one thing people tell you not to do against Legion, crazy right? The thing is, healing against Legion will force him to either FF you again and move onto someone else OR he'll have to chase you regularly as a M1 Killer.
That's what really boils down to it, Legion is a M1 Killer and due to the limitations of M1 Killers he can be looped like any other. I may be able to mind-game and double back on loops to end chases quicker... But if you're a pro Survivor, you'll be able to loop any M1 Killer for awhile.
That's why I focus more on hurting Survivors before I even consider chasing someone... admittedly a boring play-style yes... but it's the only real way to play Legion without the use of Ruin what-so-ever.
-
That would be awesome! But I don't know how they'd change the vomit from Green to Orange due to a skin... would it from one piece? all? or several pieces of the skin?
I don't know if they CAN even do that...
-

Did you try clicking on the "Cog Icon" on the top right hand corner of the page? (The forum page that is) Once you click that you get a drop down that'll let you click "Edit Profile" and do the rest of what I said on that page.

-
Go to your profile page by clicking your name on the top right hand corner of the page when on the forums.
There, you can change your image by either editing it through the settings which can be done by clicking the little blue guy with a arrow pointing down on said profile (It's to the left of your current image)
OR, you can just click (Change picture) which is above your current image on the profile screen! Once you get to the point to choose a image, you'll be given a choice of images to choose from... You can't sadly use a custom image (Yet, not sure in the future) so you can only choose from what's available.
-
I don't believe that's their intention at the moment anyways. So you're good in that regard, as for helping improve Killers that're considered "lesser" in the tier list, that would improve the overall variety to the game-play indeed!
-
Mori's are not really common, but when you're not paying attention to the screen and you magically get mori'ed by a Killer... It's something that really bums you out ha ha!

Its very strong, Especially with Shackles to make your traps make no noise then the red addon forgot whats its called but it lets you teleport any where on the map, Its scary op
That would be Mint Rag my good man, and yes it can be very useful to have!
-
Well think of it like this, some Killers could be facecamping either because they're new and don't know what to properly do yet... Some Killers could still be very new even at Green Ranks. (But not really.)
That, or some Killers genuinely believe that camping is the only way to secure a Killer when they face a particularly strong Survivor. Either way, is it considered bad to do? By the community it is yes, from me personally it shouldn't be done due to how it isn't fun, and you could actually enjoy the chase and overall improve if you give it a try!
-
MYC Hag can be quite dangerous due to how some Hags (Mostly all) Like to leave a trap at the hook, allowing the Killer to teleport to the hook once MYC procs and instantly downing the rescuer...
Although, at Red Ranks most Survivors will know to crouch by then, even at Purple most Survivors will do this... So at that rank its a meh... but it's all up to personal preference if you'd like to gamble on it. You can try placing traps outside of the range of the hook to hopefully catch a Survivor thinking it's safe to run when they're outside the range of the hook trap, when in reality there are many other traps waiting for them...
Is it worth a slot though? That's debatable for me personally, for me I'd rather use M&A (Monitor & Abuse) rather than MYC due to how Hag already has a small Terror Radius... But if you'd like to try it out i'm sure it'd be a good choice. (At Green Ranks is when it's the most effective actually since Hag isn't that common lately in-general...)
edit
Combined with Mint Rag, and Shackles can also be a very deadly combo indeed. But I think @FishFry247 already beat me to stating that before I made this edit ;) Other add-ons as well like the cricket and the turtle egg will help the duration of the traps, and also increase your range to them.
So you don't always need the best add-ons to make the combo even more effective.
