Hiya, I wasn't able to play during the last Rift (last played around end of first Rift, have the Claudette top but nothing else I think) and I heard they would be available later to buy (either shards or cells, I don't care) yet they never appeared in the shop to my knowledge. I didn't think it was a timed event where it was only a short period, I thought they would remain there.

Starting up now, I notice there's no Rift currently and none of the extra cosmetics are in the shop. Are they going to be added later? I'll get them with Cells once I'm able, but that Feng outfit is super awesome and though my adored Bunny suit finally came in, I really would like that Demon outfit she's got.

Any Charms or Cosmetics in the rift have been said to have a minimum "Exclusive" date of 6 months or a year I believe. So you won't be able to get these items until that minimum time has passed.

Some charms and skins MIGHT stay exclusive, but that hasn't been 100% confirmed and is only going off of what a dev said in that answer. The speculation stems from "a dev" saying "Most" and not "all" of these charms and skins will be re-released. But again, it's best to not find hidden meaning behind the devs answers. If it wasn't said out right, than it's not an official answer.

Regardless of that last bit, you won't see these charms and skins until 6 months or a year has passed from their release. If you ask what will stay exclusive than I don't know, that wasn't 100% confirmed anyways.

Here's the link to where this was said (Starts at 32:55 and ends at 33:14 for the answer)

Legion requires a lot of dedication and perk synergy to pull off. He isn't perk dependent, but the perks you combo with him definitely add a huge advantage to his play-style and power.

If you want to know the "Strongest Unlicensed Killer" though, than I recommend getting The Oni. The Oni is a solid Killer that can deliver devastating results to a team when used correctly. He's quite similar to Billy, but his power, when fully charged, is actually debatable stronger than The Hillbillies chainsaw. Unlike The Hillbilly though, The Oni has to charge his power for it to work.

This doesn't mean the power is bad though, you just need two solid M1 hits on 2 health Survivors to get to 90%. After that, just absorb any Blood-Orbs mid-chase, down that Survivor with an M1 attack, than go into Blood Fury Mode and start searching for your next target. In this mode, The Oni can dash side-ways with A (left) and D (right), but he can also use Q and E to steer left and right like the Hillbilly, so in theory you can actually dash around certain loops and flick a hit on them.

This was nerfed a bit, but it's still possible at most loops, if used correctly of course. There's also a lot more to cover like perk combos and tips and tricks, but I'll leave that to the videos i'll be recommending at the end of this comment.

Overall, The Oni is a solid choice for you to get. He's dependable, strong, and A LOT of fun to use. You should for sure get The Oni if you want a Killer that's reasonable and strong at the same time!

I recommend you watch these two guides to better understand how to play the oni

Both of these guides are great for learning The Oni, but the first one is very solid for beginners. It's informative and easy to understand when you're getting into the basics. Both guides should be still up-to-date with the current Oni, but they might be slightly off because The Oni's power needed to be tweaked sometimes. I could be wrong with that last part of course, since the tweak from his original power was small but enough to not make him OP.

  • @Clox

"Is Freddy fun to play?", yes and no. I'm not going to point out some flaws or anything like that, i'm just going to give you my honest opinion on how I view present day Freddy. Personally, I enjoyed the weaker version of Freddy before his buff. The buff was definitely needed, but something about Pre-Buff Freddy was really unique and fun.

But this isn't about Pre-Buff Freddy VS Post-Buff Freddy, it's about present day Freddy and how he's perceived by some players like me. Present day Freddy is fun if you enjoy his powers, unique play-style, and potential in the trial itself. He's fun if you're not used to him, but he's also fun because of how his powers work. I personally enjoy the teleporting part of his power, but the Dream Snare version that comes with his base-kit is somewhat meh to me.

But besides that, also "NOT fun?" Well, because after you use him for awhile... You start to notice a pattern with how his powers work. Some people enjoy placing Dream Snares down in vital areas and creating deadzones, but for me personally it's not enjoyable after 2 or 3 games. Again, that's just my opinion on it, but you'll find out what I mean when you start to play him more and more. Or maybe not, it's different for everyone after all. To me, Freddy isn't really a go-to Killer for fun, at least not for me, he's just an option to mix things up and that's about it. He used to be a go-to for fun and memes, but I feel that changed after his buff. But again, this isn't about Pre VS Post.

Maybe I liked the weaker version because of how challenging it is to facing a team with a weaker Killer, maybe the different powers he now has is not appealing to me. Either way, i'm sure you'll enjoy playing him, you might eventually start to see a pattern when you play him more and more, which is boring or not, depending on who you're as a player. You could argue that this happens to every Killer you play a lot, which is somewhat true, but I don't personally like placing Dream Snares over and over, even if there's little downside to doing so. And yes, you can even do this in a chase and still gain momentum in said chase.

Personally, I like Dream Pallet Freddy more because it's weaker and more unexpected. Yes you can say that the Snares and Pallets only work in the Dream World and there's many options to choose from when "Snaping out of it", but I personally find a Survivor going to a loop with Dream Snare in it hilarious. That's what I personally like about The Hag and The Trapper, their traps are so unexpected sometimes, which sis especially the case for Dream Pallets! With Pallet Freddy, it's funny to see Survivors drop pallets that just end in them being downed. Something about it is more enjoyable for me personally, probably because I like Stealth Killers, but also the unsuspecting side of a chase with any Killer that uses stealth or traps.

This comment is probably useless since it's my view on it for the most part, but it's just giving you an idea on how I personally see present day Freddy. So should you play him? Yes. Can it get boring after awhile? The same can be said for anything you use over and over.

Also one more thing, don't use the Forever Freddy build. It might benefit you as the Killer, but it's not really fun to draw out a game for a lot longer than it needs to be. If you want to use it, that's your choice. I just don't think you'll enjoy using it every game or even again after using it once... But again, that's just my opinion.

    Also to be clear

I have nothing against how Freddy was changed or anything like that. No hate towards the devs or anyone that disagrees with my opinion, this is just my view on how I see present day Freddy. If you enjoy playing him, than all the more to ya. If you don't, than that's just your opinion as well.

My comment isn't about swaying you from playing Freddy, it's just an explanation to why I personally don't find some parts of him fun. So again, if you like him than you like him, if you don't you don't. I will say this though, Freddy's buff was definitely a needed change, regardless if I enjoy the weaker version or not.

    tl;dr

Is Freddy fun? Yes and No.

Forever Freddy is boring, Dream Pallet Freddy is unsuspecting, which is a lot more fun than Dream Snare Freddy. Dream Snare Freddy starts to become boring if you don't enjoy playing Snares over and over again. The same can be said for Killers that use Traps, but something about Snare Freddy has little downside to doing it.

It's odd to say the downside of placing traps is "fun", but I personally don't really enjoy how you can place snares mid-chase with basically no down-side. Again, my opinion, but having to decide where and when to trap is a lot more fun in my opinion. That's why Pallet Freddy is a lot more fun than Snare Freddy, at least to me anyways, I find it hilarious when a Survivor drops a Dream Pallet mid-chase and than gets downed afterwards. The unsuspecting and randomness of traps is what makes it a lot more fun.

With Snares you can see them in the Dream World, so it's less unsuspecting for a Survivor and more tactical to avoid them. Which to me, is meh.

Thanks for awnsering just a last question... does the rift pass gives you 1000 auric cells to buy anotherone and maybe a little more?

It gives you 1000 Auric Cells upon the completion of the entire Rift. So for example, if you buy the rift pass at the start and get to the end at Tier 70, than you can actually gain all the Auric Cells you spent on the rift pass. This only works on the premium pass though, which is the one you spend 1k Auric Cells on, the free pass does not reward you with any Auric Cells.

As for the other part "can I earn more than what I spent?", no you can't unfortunately. If you spend 1000 Auric Cells on the pass and than finish the entire rift, you'll only get back 1000 Auric Cells upon it's completion.

  • @Francesco044 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1237792#Comment_1237792

Right, how much aurics cells cost a rift pass? (The cosmetic I'm talking that cost more is the pig motocyclist one)

The Rift Pass will cost you 1000 Auric Cells. The benefit of this is that the pass will give back those 1000 Auric Cells upon the full completion of the rift. If you can't complete the full Rift, than you can at least make some of those Auric Cells back. You can also hold off on buying the pass until you hit Tier 70. If you do, than you can get the pass at Tier 70 and unlock all the other rewards from the other pass.

Since you have 2250 Auric Cells, you should be able to buy The Pigs outfit and use the rest on The new Tome lll Rift.

Yes, I just wanted to confirm it :)

Sure, it's most likely that op is on PC and encountered someone from the Windows store but I thought the videos might be interesting because the bugs led to speculation about the Devs testing crossplay.

    Understandable.

We'll have to see what happens when the other platforms get cross-play. If they get it that is, BHVR has shown that they're interested in the idea but I don't want to confirm anything that I'm not 100% on. Regardless of if it happens, we'll have to see if the icons stay the same or if they change when the other platforms get cross-play. They could stay the same or the icons might change to display what platform they're from.

I personally think the latter will happen, but that's just me.

  • @jamako said:

Oh right *petrified I mean. But if they spread more where do they go? They have to go somewhere

They just spread out where-ever is necessary to fill the criteria. Would I say it changes much though? Meh, it's really just for that small boost if your team is going for a wiggle build with someone using Breakout, someone using Tenacity + Unbreakable + Flip-Flop, etc.

That's about it, if you're using it for a standard game than the changes are pretty minor.

  • @Francesco044

I'd personally only buy First Cut for Myers and maybe the original outfit for Ghostface.

If you really like the outfit that costs more, than buy it. If you want to spend the left overs on the other optional cosmetics, than why not! You can also just save your Auric Cells for the next Rift Pass, that's also an option.

I most likely know what you're talking about, I wouldn't mention it here on the forums personally.

Even if you mentioned it, it isn't an official source @DependentDg

The symbol isn't for the minecraft store only, it will always show when you are in a lobby with players from a different Plattform. There was a bug that put PC players in PS4 lobbys:

    https://youtu.be/myXE9uUsmiA

As far as I know there where also some hackers that forced players into console lobbys:

    https://youtu.be/nWCinnMmBGc

Well that's why I also said that it could also signify that it's someone from another platform as well, which would make sense since having unique icons isn't really necessary.

But it's still impossible to really know if that was a console player or a Microsoft store player unless there's something i'm missing. Regardless if you can tell or not, you still shouldn't be able to play with console players at this time UNLESS they're hacking.

  • @Karaage

I forgot to mention a hint.

Uh, as said above nothing about gen speed & extra health states is a good start. They attract too much bad attention and are overall bad for the health of the game in my opinion. If you want a hint, I personally like stealth perks. Don't be mistake for distraction perks, as those are totally different from stealth perks.

Think of something like Urban Evasion or Fixated as an example, that's what I mean. You'll probably have to mix some things up if you want to keep it original from those two perks.

  • @Karaage said:

    @Keezo

Hmm... we just got Red Herring so another Diversion-like perk may be overkill, but I decided to take it. It's better than the other idea I had of creating brand new pallets by survivors, at least balance wise.

It's a decent perk to use, but it's mostly for stealth hardcore stealth builds since you need to stealth over to a locker for it to work. But that's only if the Killer is nearby, it's actually good for a 3 gen scenario as well when you think about it.

If you're in a 3 gen scenario and you work on one Generator for a few seconds, than you can hide in a locker after The Killer leaves and have them gain a notification for that Generator you marked. They waste time searching around it, which gives you and your other teammates some time to work on the other two Generators. So for the most part, Red Herring is mostly a scenario specific perk for the most part. Not entirely of course, but for certain scenarios it really shines the most.

  • @TheShocktor said:

@TheVVitch What platform are you on? I know pc players had been making their way into ps4 lobbies somehow as well. I saw a few videos of it and then had it happen to me personally. Had a legacy survivor, think it was a dwight, join my lobby with the globe icon and his name was just blocks.

He's on PC since you can't see these icons on any other version of DBD. My guess is that they either represent the Microsoft version directly OR it's supposed to represent a player that's from another version of DBD.

There's no way to know if you encounter someone from the PS4 version or not, which you shouldn't be able to play with in the first place since the console version doesn't have cross-play yet. So as a result, it's safe to assume that you most likely saw a Microsoft player.

But since you saw them with legacy skins, you could've also ran into a hacker from the Microsoft version, since only Steam players were given the Legacy skins (since that's where the game first launched back in 2016).

Just an update to those who provided assistance-

I made a full report and included the VODs thanks to the download system recommended. Submitted everything and was given an update maybe a week ago that if they found that rules were broken, they would follow through accordingly.

So I checked up on it again today and they “solved” my ticket four days ago and I checked both of the streamers i reported for cheating and they’ve still been playing DBD daily.

It’s just a major bummer. If griefing and teaming with a killer wasn’t something they cared about, especially with beginning to end of match proof from the cheaters’ pov, then i wish DBD would make that known before i went through the trouble. Makes me feel silly for reporting to them.

I will say though that I do appreciate the help you guys provided, even if the DBD team didn’t care to take action. It makes my heart happy to know there’s still great people in this community. <3

By "solved" they probably mean that the report was taken care of, whether that means they were banned or not is not stated, it just means the report was completed.

If this is the case, since I don't know, than they must've investigated it and found no reason to follow up with it. I don't personally know what happened and I'm not really interested in discussing it since it's not going to lead anywhere. I will say this though, what you thought what happened might've not actually happened at all, but again I don't know and can't confirm anything for you unfortunately.

Personally, if that's the end result than I would just move on from this entirely, it's not worth the hassle to fight over something that has already been discussed and looked into. I don't know what really happened during that match, but from the sound of it, I hope it doesn't happen to you again. I wish you the best of luck.

  • @batmanscar

The only thing that's suppressed is your Terror Radius, everything else that makes noise will still make noise. And yes, your chainsaw is something that makes A LOT of noise.

If you want to reduce this noise, than you need to use the "Homemade Muffler" add-on to reduce the chainsaws sound by about -35% (the percentage is from the DBD Wiki FYI.) But as said above, you're better off using "The Beast Marks" for the increased movement speed (while mid-tantrum) and "Carburetor Tuning Guide" to increase you charge speed moderately, which cancels out The Beast Marks charge speed debuff.

The DBD Wiki says that the CTG increases your charge speed by 18%, and The Beast Marks decreases it by 12%, so that's still a 6% increase when you're charging your chain-saw, which is still the best add-on combo on Bubba for any build in my opinion.

  • @xTalon32

There is no way to directly report something to a Mod or Dev on the forums, as for anywhere else that's different and solely depends on them being open for messages anyways.

Besides, you don't directly contact a Mod or Dev about something like this, you report them in-game and than follow up with a support ticket if you think that's necessary. Personally, if you already submitted an in-game report than there's no need to follow up with a support ticket, but if you really think it's necessary than I'll provide you the link to the support team below. You click on that link, go to the support team site and than go from there with a ticket submission.

Also FYI, if they don't get back to you about it immediately than please be patient, you might not be "the first in line" and they're handling other reports that were first. Just be patient and your report will be taken care of in do time.

Here's the link to the support team

  • @CrazyDoug17

No, there is no way to invite anyone from the Microsoft store unfortunately. I don't even think you can add anyone from the Microsoft store itself, except other users of that store (I would assume).

Otherwise no, there is no way to add them and there is no way to carry over anything to the Microsoft Windows PC. Whatever data you have that's tied to that account stays on that account, this applies to every other version of DBD. Even though Microsoft and Steam have cross-play, there is no way to play with each other or add each other on different platforms.

  • @MrDecisive

It means that you need to scrap and collect any potential points to gain a near-perfect or perfect score. If you get a Merciless Victory in-game with the 3 perks, than you should've unlocked the perk.

If you didn't, than you need to focus a lot more on these three factors below. These three key things need to be done in order to achieve a near-perfect or perfect game.

    • [Number 1] (You need to focus on hitting a Survivor a lot and I mean A LOT. By this I mean you need to hit them constantly with your M1 basic attack to gain points towards the Brutality score. You're not focusing on getting BPs, you're focusing on improving your emblem score overall. If you're using a Killer with an insta-down power OR a Killer that puts Survivors into the dying state, than you need to focus more on damaging thing with your M1 attack, rather than insta-downing them. If you just insta-down them, than the chases end a lot sooner and you gain less points as a result.)
    • [Number 2] (You need to have a decent chase for most of your chases. If you end the chase too early than you gain less points, if you end it too late than you lose Generators AND actually gain less points as well. Find a middle ground when you're in a chase, focus more on damaging them with your M1 attack for some brutality points, this will help you in the long run with the Chaser Emblem as well.)
    • [Number 3] (You need to keep as many Generators as you can, for every minute you gain a point towards the GateKeeper emblem, these points are multiplied by the number of Generators that're in-game for every minute that passes. It does cap eventually, but it's good to keep up as many as you can to maximize your potential points. Also, since the new update to the gatekeeper emblem, you know gain bonus points for keeping both gates closed when they're POWERED, not when they're unpowered. It's sort of a "bonus" if they finish all the Generators but couldn't open both gates in time.)

There are some smaller details as well, but these 3 factors are important to keep in-mind when you're going for a near-perfect/perfect game. Remember this and you'll be able to maximize your potential emblem points.

I'd argue that changes to gen ratios would qualify as a major change.

However balance isn't everything, so there would still be problems with the mode beyond that.

True, it's something that needs to be thrown around a few times before even being considered.

  • @MetroSlayer_DC

There's a minimum and maximum number of hooks that spawn in each map. I did a test about this a long time ago but I can't exactly remember where the post is (I believe it's in this sub-forum).

From what I could gather, the minimum and maximum number of hooks that spawn depends on the size of the map you're in. But this isn't entirely true actually, since even The Game was able to get about 12 hooks (if my memory is correct) at one time, so it really depends on RNG for the most part. While I would love to get you the statistics I gathered for this, I can't really find it at this time. I'll look for it and reply again with the statistics for context, but at the moment you'll have to take my word for it. Also if I don't reply with it, than I couldn't find it.

Ok that's good and all, but what does this have to do with my question?

It actually means a lot to your question, since it's giving you context towards the minimum and maximum hook spawns that happen in every map. So to give you a general idea, there isn't that many hooks that spawn on average when you really think about it. You're probably more concerned about the length they're between each other, which is debatable at best if you want to get technical.

As of right now, the range between each hook is fair (in my opinion). You can mitigate this with several perks if it's an issue for you, you can also combo perks together to focus on a wiggle build too! Try something like Unbreakable, Tenacity, Flip-Flop, and a branch offering for good measure. This will give you a decent amount of time to wiggle off a Survivors arm, unless they're right next to a hook of course. It also requires you to gain progress towards your bar, since a percentage is taken from that and than gets put into your wiggle bar. Look more into the perk "Flip-Flop" to get a better understanding to what I mean.

Anyways, to keep it blunt... The hook spawns and range is fine in my opinion.

  • @Teethgrinder83

If you're looking for someone who you can really enjoy, than buy the Oni for sure.

The Oni is pretty easy to learn once you know what to do, his power is very strong when used correct, you can control his Demon Dash with a lot more precision than Billy, and he's overall a solid Killer to use in any rank. If you're looking for a Killer to get perks, than get Leatherface or Plague for BBQ & Chili or Corrupt Intervention (And Infections Fright which is insanely good on The Oni).

The Doctor is also a solid choice as well, since his buff made him a lot more manageable in-game. If you're looking for someone that's great on the stealth side of the killer role, than you can try Michael Myers or Ghostface. Both of them are really scary to face in-game if you know how to manipulate their powers to your advantage. Plus some Survivors will be more prone to paranoia when facing you, so they'll mess up a lot more because of this (sometimes).

All in all, go with The Oni. The Oni in my opinion is a perfect balance of strength and fun! Not too strong but not too weak either, a solid choice.

  • @batmanscar

No, there is no "poison" option to put a Survivor into the dying state, the sickness from Vile Purge only applies the broken status effect to them and that's about it. If you want to put someone into the Dying State with vomit, than you need to be in the Corrupt Purge mode to do that. Otherwise, you need to down them with your basic attack after the broken status effect is applied.

I rarely see basement camping Leatherfaces anymore, Purple or Red. The idea of basement camping with Leatherface has become more situational now, rather than it being a set plan.

I don't know about Green Ranks, but I personally haven't seen a basement camping insidious Leatherface in months. That doesn't mean they're not still present, but it does mean that I personally haven't seen any lately.

It's a hit or miss with Deliverance, but it's still a solid pick if he's willing to experiment.

It means they're from the Microsoft version of Dead By Daylight, it doesn't really mean anything else besides that. Why does it exist? Because the Steam version and Microsoft Store version actually have a cross-play connection to each other, so the symbol is supposed to identify any players from the other version.

  • @xDailyDabber

It seems like an Xbox issue since I haven't seen anything similar from other Xbox players.

Try contacting Xbox's support team to see what they can do, I highly doubt it has anything to do with Dead By Daylight directly. If you want, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the game to see if that works. You won't lose any progress if you do this since your saved data is tied to your Xbox account. The same goes for any version DBD is on, it's tied to your steam profile, PS4s PSN, etc.

You can also try asking in the Technical Issues sub-forum for some advice, but like I said, the issue doesn't seem to be directly related to DBD.

    self explanatory

No it's not, The Nurse was nerfed awhile ago and this was one of the reasons she was nerfed. Her base-kit and a lot of her perks were changed as a result of the nerf, so five blink Nurse does not exist anymore.

  • @alullabyfortheclarks

Yui already has a perk that lets you reset pallets. You could also argue that Yui's perk also has less requirements for it to activate, so I don't really see a reason to have another similar perk to this.

Not to shoot your idea down of course, but you can already do this with the perk "Any Means Necessary". The perk lets you do this in 4 seconds and has a 120 second cool-down at Tier lll. So in theory, you could reset pallets infinitely with this perk.

This is probably a "work in progress" thing that The Nurses trailer had. Keep in-mind that The Nurse came out in 2016, so some things were still experimental at the time. I don't personally know what the "suggestive themes" part was supposed to be, but it was probably just an idea that was thrown into the early trailers.

Also DBD came out in 2016, The Nurses chapter came out around late 2016 or so.

  • @Duskyy

That isn't what the updates about, the update is mainly about balancing issues that're being addressed in 3.7.0.

Your connection to the Dedicated Servers is probably the issue here, it doesn't really have anything to do with the game itself. There isn't much you can do about the bad connection, but I doubt it's constantly making every game a nightmare. If it is, than you can try bringing this up to the Technical Issues sub-forum to see if they have any insight on this issue.

just another idea: if they added new features specific to that gamemode?

Define "features", can you clarify what you mean by that?

In theory it can be balanced.

However, if you simply doubled everything (2v8 with 14 gens, 10 of which are required ect) it would be Killer sided, or at least moreso than the existing mode.

The reason for this is simple:

Chase times with more than 1 Killer involved is easily brought down to less than half of the original time. In other words, 2 Killers chasing 1 Survivor can catch the Survivor in less than half of the time as a single Killer.

However, Survivors won't be able to get more than double their original gen-rush speed (still takes 2 waves of repairs to power the gates). So the Killer would have the same time to accomplish everything, but would be accomplishing stuff much faster.

Not to mention the existence of synergizing in other ways, for example a doctor paired up with a Spirit.

Doc makes people scream while the Spirit goes and "deals with them" while they are screaming and thus vulnerable.

If I'm being honest, the whole idea does sound cool. It's not like there aren't plenty of numbers to adjust in order to restore balance in a 2v8 mode. Repair speed, number of gens, number of REQUIRED gens ect.

Just a thought but I would try 8 required gens, 10 total gens and 3 gates. The number of required gens being reduced by 2 makes it possible to complete them all in a single wave, which is an important threshhold. However this is obviously counterbalanced by the above, and further counterbalanced by disproportionately less total gens and 1 less gate (using doubled existing numbers as a baseline).

Is that balanced? Probably not, but it's worth looking into.

That's if both Killers are chasing individual Survivors and not splitting up the task overall. I agree that it would be more Killer sided since Killers can easily corner a Survivor at a small loop and insta-down them with two basic M1 hits.

But if both killers are on one Survivor, even if it's for a really short time, it still gives the other 7 Survivors enough time to pump out 2 or even 3 Gens if they're coordinated. If they're not than it's more like 1 or 2 Generators. I don't personally agree that this could be balanced unless major changes were made, but I do agree that the idea is fun.

I also agree that synergized Killers would probably be a head-ache for a lot of Survivors in the grand scheme of things. Doctor with Spirit, Hag with Trapper, Myers with Ghostface, etc. The concept is definitely cool though, but it's no more than a novelty game-mode at the end of the day.

I will say this though, it's definitely worth looking into for the fun of it. Will it ever be something more than a novelty idea? We'll have to see. The Community has said that they like the idea, but I don't personally see it being more than a KYFs style game-mode at it's core. And for the obvious, it would never be ranked, that probably shouldn't need to be mentioned though.

  • I'm just one person, I couldn't really give you a for sure balance change to a game-mode like this.

If I had to say what they could do, they could try the alternative objective idea that some people toss around every so often. There has been some interesting ones like gathering parts for the Generators or gathering gas for them once they're completed. But unless something else was changed than I doubt the mode will ever be truly balanced.

Either the Killer side would be too OP from some of these changes or the Survivor side would be too OP because of the amount of Survivors that're present in-game. It would take a team to figure out what would work, a lot of things would need to be changed, maps would need to be altered to work with this game-mode, and yes even alternate objectives would have to be considered so Survivors don't instantly gen-rush the Killer duo.

If you're looking for a balance answer from me, than I don't know. I'd need a lot of help to figure that out.

  • @alullabyfortheclarks

It would be interesting yes and admittedly fun if "done right", but balance-wise it would be way too much when you look deeper into it. I don't even know if you could "do it right", since we're talking an increased map size, increased gen count, 8 Survivors and 2 Killers, etc. Before I even go into it, I only see this as a sort of "gag mode" to play.

I ask you this, what's stopping two Killers from using the strongest Killers as a duo? Now what would happen if you faced a 8 man SWFs on a map with double the Generators to do? It's unknown as to what might happen, but a lot of the community already dislikes SWFs as is... So facing 8 Survivors as once while on comms is a bit too much for some to handle.

Even if both Killers are using the best of the best, they'd still have a hard time with managing where to go, what to monitor, and overall what they can do against this. You also have to keep in-mind that the map has to increase in size, so a lot of Generators will just be completed off the bat because of the sheer size of the map itself.

Even if it was just 2 random Killers and 8 random Survivors, the matches would be extremely long and somewhat tedious in the grand-scheme of things. The idea is interesting, but it's just a novelty at the end of the day... I don't ever think this would be considered as an alternate game-mode, but that's just my opinion on it.

It's not a bad idea if it's non-ranked, but I don't see it ever being balanced unless some new mechanics were thrown into it.

Ah. kk. I didn't know how long it was up, or when it ended.

I guess it wasn't overly good or bad if people aren't complaining about it. :)

Probably should've mentioned that... Yeah, I believe it ended on April 7th but I wouldn't take that as a fact.

And no, I guess it didn't garner much attention from either sides. I suppose it was just meh to the majority, which is good or bad depending on how you look at it. Either way, I look forward to the change of pace in-game.

Well, in the past I have seen it discussed here, or streamers showing off the changes on the PTB server. I have heard some streamers mention changes, but they didn't go into detail and weren't playing on the PTB. I'm just surprised there isn't so much discussion going on about it.

If it's not DLC than Streamers will naturally not really pay too much attention to it. It's just a balance change, there isn't really much to talk about if you think about it.

I'm sure it'll be talked about when the update comes in, but right now it's died down because the PTB ended some time ago. That's another thing too by the way, usually when a PTB is being talked about it's done so when the PTB just launched, after a week or two it dies down until the patch comes out.

You should buy Adam Francis, he has deliverance, diversion and autodidact. Deliverance and diverson are great perks, autodidact is too situational, but fun.

It really depends on your play-style, some people like stealth, others like being chased.

Adam Francis is a solid person to buy if you like the stealth side of things, and autodidact is pretty good when it's being built up. If the OP is going for meta perks than Adam isn't someone who offers them, but it's still a solid Survivor to pick indeed.

  • @ZackSax

There is no official date at this time. Usually when a new DLC or patch comes out, it's mentioned on the day it's being released. Sometimes it's mentioned a day before, but that's rare.

But as of right now, there is no official date for you to go off of. Some speculate that the patch will come out 2 weeks after the PTB closed, but that's just speculation and NOT a fact.

  • @Duskyy

It's an ongoing issue with the match-making right now. Most of the community is aware of this issue already, and BHVR gave an update on what they'll be doing about it in the future. The future match-making will be fixed and updated to focus more on a skill-based system, rather than a ranking system that we're used to.

If you would like to know more about this update, than i'll link it below for you. As for any recent developments from this update, I unfortunately have none to give you right now.

There are a lot of killers that can get BP like billy running around, legion doing frenzy, plague spitting on objects. The sad thing is not all killers have something to do while survivors just stay in the gates.

That's true, but most Killers will just drive them away to finish the match anyways... Unless they really care about the BPs.

Either way, I was speaking generally and not specifically about Trapper, Hag, Billy, Legion, or Plague. Plague offers very little, and Legion requires a full recharge to gain a small bit as well. As for the rest, they have no limits to "farming deviousness points", so its something that I excluded for a reason.

Sorry, I was actually wondering about feedback from people playing on the PTB. I saw a lot of feedback during the Ruin nerf and Doctor update testing. I haven't really seen anyone talking about this update. i thought there would be more discussions going on, about how the changes were.

I don't really know where you could go to find a discussion on it, most likely the General Discussions or a potential PTB 3.7.0 sub-forum that might be open. Either way, that's something you'll have to find on your own.
