Ya ok, first game tonight after the last update... not sure i feel like playing anymore tonight. the days between the games are more and more distance as the weeks pass by.

Entirely up to you, but it won't always be this way when they gradually fix the matchmaking to the new version they have planned.

I'm sorry this happened to you (again), and I hope you do come back to play when things get sorted out/after your break.

Exactly; it needs to always say it doesn't stack if it doesn't, or say every time whether or not it does. Right now its 50/50 on most add-ons and for some, many mains of different killers aren't even sure if add-ons stack, because they can't tell.

It's not really most add-ons, its just some tbh.

But yeah, i'd prefer if more items, perks, etc had this description change for what's stack-able and what's not.

  • @SunderMun said:

Also a distinct lack of consistency with regards to what stacks in said descriptions.

Usually if it says it doesn't stack, than it doesn't stack, if it doesn't say that in the perk, item, etc description than it's usually a 50/50 on if it stacks or not in some cases.

In League of Legends, when you're going to change your runes, the game have an option for "advanced explication" of the rune, saying in numbers what it does, if this option is disabled, there's just simple texts saying what it does. So they could implement in the config an option to allow us to enable "advanced explications" to show the actually numbers of the add-ons, by default this would be disable and only people interested to know will enable it.

I know the wiki has a lot of information, but most of them are missing or outdated. I didn't even mentioned the Wiki because I wanted the devs to publish it since it's gonna be more accurate than the wiki.

Devs certainly have more important things to do like fixing the game that in the actual state has so many bugs, so I guess they'll never implement this. But you know, little details is what makes some games so good.

I wouldn't give up hope on the implementation, so if you really want to suggest it than you can try bringing it up to the "Feedback & Suggestions" sub-forum with a decent or long post on why it should be added and what benefits we gain from this addition.

Also, it's good you were informed about the percentages and where they're, it's easy to miss and even I missed it... and I've used the DBD Wiki since I first started playing lol.

Possibly, it seems there are voice lines for “being idle” and there have only been two recorded on the official wiki, this not being one of them.

I mean hey, if you get it again than try recording it for the DBD Wiki if you want, up to you.

Either way, the voice line seems rare for some reason, but it could've been a recent voice-line that was added in... the question is though, why would they have the VA for Ash come back to voice random lines and not just voice them in one go?

It makes me think they're just harder to come by than the regular two you here in-game.

Yes, I believe the Oni is the Spirit's great-great-great-great Grandfather (might be missing a "great" in there).

He's "The First Yamaoka" despite being the son of his Father who's debatable "The First Yamaoka". Anyways, I don't think it's easy to deduce how far back the Blood-Line goes unless I missed something in the lore and what not.

I say that because we'd need to know when Rin was alive in what year and try to deduce what time The Oni was in. Last I checked it isn't exactly said anywhere for both...? But again, I could've missed something.

  • @judge_fist said:

I like being mori'd, too. The animations are so much better than just dying on a hook.

It'd be nice to have interactive areas on the map, so it's not just a regular mori, it's a special mori that can only be done in that location.

Still, you can easily by-pass this by just using two perks that extend your hold time.

I like the idea of it being on death hook rather than 2nd hook, but I don't really think having a specific mori zone would stop people from getting to it (if that was this posts original concept).

Perhaps if both concepts were put together than it wouldn't matter in the end? But than people would probably use Mori's less because it doesn't do anything besides give a unique animation, at least to me that's how I view it.

  • @Zeidoktor said:

Did the title of this thread make anyone else think "If you give a Dwelf a cookie..."

    What is that referencing exactly?

  • @RGplaysDBD

A few people have suggested the idea of a Mr. X Killer from RE2, or something similar to Mr. X. Naturally Mr. X is known for chasing the cast of RE2 and breaks through walls on a regular basis.

But that's just a suggestion, the point i'm making is that a Killer similar to that would be a cool concept to have in-game... but here's the problem. Not only would his power be designated to break through walls, but that's have to give him this power around EVERY MAP including the ones that naturally have no walls at all.

So, personally, I don't think the power itself to smash through walls is a viable and/or feasible power to add to a Killer, since it would require making cool-downs for the power so it isn't OP and it would require a lot of maps to be reworked to add in various "breakable wall" points and walls in-general in most areas.

    (tl;dr)

Personally, it isn't really a practical thing to do at this time and I doubt because of these limitations that it ever will be added, but that's just my opinion. As for the next Killer being a wall smasher in Chapter 15? No, we need solid evidence for that before we can make a decent theory about it being a wall smasher... and they'd have to do a lot of work to make his power viable in-game on maps with no walls (as stated above).

  • @FlameAxel

This is more of a suggestion than a question...? It feels like both but it's kind of more towards a suggestion.

If you have any future suggestions, than i'd put them up on the Feedback and Suggestions sub-forum instead, rather than the Ask The Community sub-forum.

[Here's the link to the Feedback sub-forum with the F&S Sub-forum in it]:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/feedback

    anyways, as for the question/suggestion

I see a few issues with it, for one being mori'ed in specific areas would probably be circumvented with Agitation + Iron Grasp, so it'll just be easy to grab the Survivor and bring them to the desginated "Mori spot" and than mori them.

It doesn't entirely fix the issue if that was what you were going for, it would just require Killer to use two slots to still have a offering that Kills you on 2nd hook. Personally, I like the idea that the Mori only works on Death hook rather than 2nd hook, but the part about desginated mori spots is a bit of a stretch.

Pretty much this. But also I notice a lot more people getting "false" grabs. Like it was going to register as a grab, but due to dedicated servers now, it does not actually register as a grab and only goes as a hit instead. So, you may be doing it right, but the server lags and it counts it as a hit instead. Just something to be mindful of. I see it a lot when people are trying to get generator grabs, but the game is like NOPE!

I think this was also an issue before Dedicated Severs, but "I think" doesn't mean I know for sure, since playing DBD so much just blends things together in my memory from time to time.

  • @The__High_Ground

The High Roller outfit is actually better than the Aces and Eights (Charcoal Version) tbh, the deep purple really makes it easy to blend in with most backgrounds, since that shade of purple is quite dark and hard to see sometimes.

Both work though for a stealth approach to Ace, or in this case an "immersed" approach.

You can just grab mid/slow vaults? I thought the condition was just the survivor needs to be injured

That's right my bad, i'm not sure why that's the condition but yes, everything I listed and that slight change.

  • @Kai6864

It could be a post-voice line after his DLC came out, or the voice line in-general is quite rare to hear for some reason.

  • @judge_fist

Sometimes the grab you initiate a grab on a Hook or Generator you'll instead do a basic attack because they stopped repairing the generator or let go of the Survivor at the exact time you tried to grab them.

In your case, it just sounds like you possible held down M1 too long instead of just tapping it to grab the Survivor. If you just tapped it, than the scenario above is probably what happened. The grab mechanic is kind of finicky at the moment, but you can still grab Survivors yes. You can grab Survivors that're Mid/Slow vaulting, about to vault at a pallet or window, at a Generator if they're repairing it, at a totem, if they're trying to rescue a Survivor, Sabotaging a hook, etc.

I'm speaking theoretically, ie someone explicitly assigned to ONLY that task, could do it in a week. And what disadvantage would there be to having it in the game, versus hoping it's on a website?

There is none, the only benefits you'd get is getting the information a few seconds faster than you would tabbing out and looking it up on google and it would be the official data... Which if the data is accurate than that doesn't really matter right?

They'd have to make room for it, make sure all the information is correct, proof read it, find someone who will be able to do it in a week (which its unknown how long that would take), and they'd have to update it regularly and have people assigned to their own team to do exactly that.

Many different reasons. In the end though, BHVR does see that we're interested in accurate data and percentages, so who knows.

DBD's game bans are implemented through VAC. When the devs ban someone, that's how they do it. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a game developer the other day about it, and my understanding from him is that VAC does everything EAC does, only better, and it has actually been around for longer. Also, the prevalence of EAC is actually a bad thing, apparently, because it makes the games that rely on it easier to hack with than without it.

None of this is directly relevant to the question, so this is probably not the best place to discuss it in depth, just a few fun facts that not everybody knows.

You know where to find me if you want to continue talking about it.

  • @Levitika said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1062976#Comment_1062976

There are currently 18 killers with a combined total of 398 add-on items for their powers, and a total of 23 items for Survivors with a combined total 55 add-ons. Even if you literally had one person doing this, with all the information on-hand, you could have this done in less than a week.

Still, it would take time and wouldn't be implemented right away. Also, it doesn't really take a week for someone to compile all that data since they obviously wouldn't be doing that one thing every single day, they'd be tasked with other things that their company wants them to do, it's not as simple as one might think.

And who's to say the BHVR WANTS to even add this in the first place? In the useful links section you can find the DBD Wiki as a useful link, implying that they at least know that people want figures and site a source that's somewhat reputable. The people on DBD Wiki are not always going to get 100% accurate information, that's a given, but at least people have and option and it doesn't even take that long to loop up exactly what you're trying to get the stats on...

You can even get map sizes, random information on hooks and loops, etc. The option is there and I don't personally see any issues with what we're already given from the Devs and from the community as well.

  • @ABannedCat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1062963#Comment_1062963

How would that take long? The developers know the numbers, they add the numbers in brackets to the descriptions, and publish the update. Litterally takes only 5 minutes. Massive quality of life change for absolutely no effort at all.

They have more important things to do at this time like the matchmaking rework and various other bug and hotfixes to apply in-game.

Of course it's not a 100% priority thing to keep them from doing that at the moment, but applying add-on stats, perk stats, character stats, etc, would take awhile to implement in-game. Neither of us know how easy it would be or how hard it would be either, but given that it's a lot of information to implement it's safe to say it would take a bit of time.

If it really took 5 minutes (which I assume you're exaggerating there) than they would've done it by now... Right?

  • @Fibijean said:

The reason EAC bans aren't handled by Valve is because it's not their software, so unless Epic want to sell it to them they can't do anything with it. I believe VAC is also used in DBD, though. The devs just decided they wanted to use EAC as well, for some reason, in spite of the fact that the game launched on Steam and EAC is objectively worse in every way 🤷

I know it's not their software i'm just saying that it would make more sense if it was, but they didn't make it first and it's the most widely used Anti-Cheat for literally almost every Steam game, so it's how it is.

VAC as far as I know is not used in DBD unless you actually tamper with something that Valve doesn't take too kindly too, I can give some examples but i'd prefer not saying it here.

Also, I suppose because of EACs ease of implementation and somewhat decent results is why they choose EAC for their Anti-Cheat, it's mainly what most games do on Steam anyways.

  • @Levitika said:

There's a good amount of information on that site, but plenty is still missing or outright wrong (example: Yew Seed Brew/Concoction for Huntress was listed as slowing survivors 3%) But we should be able to get the information from the game itself, not have to look up sites, dig through game files or wait for people like Int3r4ct to put out the info.

That would take a long time to implement in-game and it's something that isn't really going to happen right now.

The DBD Wiki and various videos like Int3r4ct's is what you'll have to go to for your information, that or you can just ask a question on this sub-forum and we'll do our best to answer said question.

  • @chockfullofmoxie said:

I actually would love a post game chat to GG the survivors I play with. I feel like it cleanses me from the annoyance of being looped. It’s my way of saying I did my beat but you were better. If I don’t have that opportunity I take that into the next game. I know I’m weird.

Well, here's to hoping you get one than.

Maybe we'll hear something in the future about it, but right now it isn't on the top of BHVRs list of things to fix/do, so we'll see what happens.

  • @Kees_T said:

I agree. They should publish the data of add-ons somewhere so we can know exactly what we're going to gain using X add-on.

They don't have to, you can get all this information easily by looking up the DBD Wiki on any perk, add-ons, Killer, Survivor, item, and everything in between.

It's a public source of information that anyone can look up by typing in the item, Killer, Survivor, etc name and clicking on the link to the gamepedia site (Aka the DBD Wiki). The site is constantly updated and almost has every piece of information you'd need on percentages, powers, etc, etc, etc.

  • Also, the idea of a percentage system would be harder for some newer players to understand, while the concept of "Slightly, Moderately, Considerably, and Tremendously" is a lot easier to understand I suppose.

But that's just speculation, I can @MandyTalk to see if she knows or can share that information with you, otherwise nobody from the Community can really tell you while this system is the primary system they use to determine percentages and power.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1062023#Comment_1062023

Valve can't help you with EAC. You're thinking of VAC, which is Valve's anticheat system. EAC is a different software made by Epic, so you would have to appeal directly to EAC on their website if you wanted to get an EAC ban lifted.

At this point it doesn't make sense why the system is tied to two different companys, rather than it being applied to Valve themselves.

Most games use Easy Anti-Cheat on Steam, so it's unknown as to why it isn't handled by Valve themselves. But yeah, that's right. I didn't mix them up though, I just keep forgetting that EAC is a Epic Anti-Cheat software since the software, as I said, is used on nearly every Steam game... Ironically the same people who made Fortnite made EAC (or so I've been told).

  • @Levitika

Not entirely sure why they use those figures over percentages. I think it has something to do with how boring and messy it would look if you have a perk with multiple percentages on it, it's easier to either use that description for it with a percentage of the other part or just have it for the one percentage based part of the perk itself.

Basically, it's most likely to make it not look so cluttered and "boring" I suppose, and maybe it's to make it look more unique than just adding percentages to the perk and/or add-on.

Also, the Chili add-ons do actually do something in-game, it's just so small that it feels like it isn't doing anything at all...

at the end of the day

Nobody knows why this percentage system was used instead of literally using percentages, all we know is that it's there and that's what they use to classify a perk and/or add-ons power over lesser add-ons or Tiers of the same perk.

    So, who knows.

Mr. X would be so cool. I recently played the resident evil 2 remake and Mr. x was terrifying. if he had footstep sounds from the game and the same walking animation. He would be one of the best killers in the game. Plus Leon could be included as well.

I'd like a Killer that just punches you in the face tbh.

Not a claw or anything, just a fist to the face, and that's kind of what Mr. X is all about.

  • @LastShoe said:

I can confirm that there are issues with the rainbow matchmaking again.

Yes, it's still an issue at this time and will probably continue to be an issue until they release a hotfix or gradually implement the new matchmaking system.

Hopefully that's soon, but "gradually" doesn't mean instantly.

  • @Boosted_Dwight said:

It's possible that the rank 5 player brought in those two low ranks with him in a swf.

    Swf matchmaking works like this:

    • The highest rank survivor in the group determines what rank killer you get. For example, if the highest is a red rank then you'll be put with a red rank killer.
    • The game will search for a game within your rank and it can't find one then it will extend it's reach with a 6 rank threshold.

Since the rank 5 is the highest player in his swf group then his group will face purple rank killers.

It also depends on Region and Time of Day for how the matchmaking can really determine who's online and who's not in his rank bracket.

At Purple though, I don't think the issue is here that much, I think this is, like you said, a SWFs with the Red Rank Survivor pulling in the higher tier'ed Killers, or it's just another case of the "Rainbow Ranks" issue that keeps croping up from time to time.

Personally, I honestly think it's that issue and not a SWFs, mainly because how how common the issue is now, even more me. But BHVR is overhauling the system gradually, so we'll soon see a more prominent ranking system in the future, one that's based in skill, rather than a literal rank.

  • @AhoyWolf

I wouldn't use Distressing on any other Killer besides Doctor because the perk itself is only good for Killers that benefit from a giant Terror Radius. Most don't, so it's not the best thing to use since Spirit gains nothing from it, plus you can use an add-on (Prayer Beads) that makes your phase audible to everyone on the map, which is kind of the opposite of what you'd want for Distressing.

So in a sense, no, if you're going to use one of the two than use M&A since it can at least decrease your Terror Radius out of chases and increase your FOV, which some people claim is good for M1 Killers and fast paced Killers.

But, personally i'd use neither of the two and instead use something like Stridor, Pop Goes the Weasel, BBQ & Chili, and STBFL. That build gives your more versatility and you can really clean house when you get 6, 7, or 8 STBFL stacks.

  • @Aeichi

It's already been said above but I wanted to add this part below.

BHVR has said before that doing something like that is a "Do at your own risk" action, since it's unlikely that they would ban you for it, but EAC might ban you for it because it was detected as cheating. So in a sense, if EAC bans you than you have to (I believe) contact Valve about the ban, which many have said before is a harder feat to get you unbanned than one might think.

So keep that in-mind when you edit those perk Icons or Character Portraits, doing so is considered a "Do at your own risk" action and is entirely "on you" in a sense when you get banned through EAC.

And to be honest, I consider a EAC ban worse because Valve gave you it, but that's just my opinion and it doesn't really add anything to the end here.

Why are you acting like there always hasnt been these kind of messages in the gaming community? And also, its just a message.

There has and many people still report it because it isn't something a person should say to another because they think they'll get away with it.

Acting that way is quite childish and shouldn't be ignored, which it isn't!

  • @BelganPancake

With that being said above, from past Dev streams it sounds like Post-Game chat for console is the last thing on BHVRs mind tbh.

That doesn't mean it will never happen, it just means they're not the most excited about implementing a feature that most console players couldn't use in the most... "efficient way" in a sense. You'd have to apply the Xbox and PS4 on-screen keyboard to the chat box when you wanted to speak and the time to type out a sentence would be so long that most players would've left the match by now.

I think they should bring a Chucky Doll into the game :) What do you guy's think?

Chucky is too small to hook anyone and BHVR has said before that they don't intend to make a Doll Killer anytime soon.

Also, the next Killer is also unknown since there is no hints or information on it, it's hard to theorize on a Killer that has nothing to work off of.

I also look forward to what they're doing with the ranking system, the concept of a skill based ranking system is a good idea that a lot of people asked for and i'm glad they choose that as their approach to the issue.

Pretty much yeah, that's the best part about the inclusion, so thanks for finding that out for us.

@FireHazard The stats are on the wiki, but you need to go into the add-on pages themselves and hover over the "slightly/moderately/considerably" to see them.

    @ocafghanistan Here are the stats:

Order - Class I increases madness inflicted by Static Blast by 10%, and causes Illusionary Pallets to generate every 20 seconds within 32 metres of the Doctor.

Order - Class II increases madness inflicted by Static Blast by 15%, and causes Illusionary Pallets to generate every 20 seconds within 64 metres of the Doctor.

Order - Carter's Notes increases madness inflicted by Static Blast by 25%, and causes Illusionary Pallets to generate every 20 seconds anywhere on the map.

Ah I see. The video still displays this information though, so it's not like the answer was any different in the end.

It's good to have it in text form in a comment though, rather than digging through the video itself to see each percentage boost.

It does actually give the information that @ocafghanistan is looking for, where he got this information and if it's accurate is... unknown though.

This is the link you'd usually go to for stats on add-ons and such (Aka it's the DBD Wiki link).

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Herman_Carter

    But here's the issue...

The stats I assume you're looking for is the amount of "Madness Damage" this add-on increases with each Tier of the Order add-on. That unfortunately is something I can't find and wouldn't be able to find in-game unless I studied every single add-on with multiple games... Sadly there are some things that even I won't do i'm afraid.

Unfortunately, unless you study each increase in damage with every order add-on or someone finds the stats themselve than you're out of luck on that i'm afraid.

Is Leader worth running then because it only gives benefits for short actions? (would be 4 seconds less for a door, right?)

Also, wake up says, that you will open the door faster, does that mean increasing the speed or reducing the time?

You could use Leader with a Gate Opening build like Wake Up! and Spine-Chill, otherwise it's quite a bad perk to run due to its range and overall scenario specific needs.

That Survivor needs to be with you all the time to do these actions, if they're not than the perk won't give you the boost... so, it's entirely (as said above) a scenario dependent perk that's not really worth bringing.

Although, if you want to do an Exit Gate build than you should use Leader, or even something like a healing build for a specific person like your friend that uses that perk.

Thanks; I just keep using her until I get frustrated enough and then swap to a more efficient killer for me. I only have ~104 hrs playing her, 1300 hrs playing killer/survivor. Eventually I'll get decent with her or I'll just do what almost everyone else has, just don't use her. Its a shame really.

I suppose, it depends how you look at it from an outside perspective.

She's a lot harder to master than she was before and she isn't really beginner friendly (but she never was in the first place). But, if you can master her than you can easily clean up a team despite the nerf.

So, if you want to put the effort in to learn her than it's in your best interest to use perks that can help with that, like the ones I suggested above. I wouldn't stress about it if you can't get a used to her change, she wasn't easy to learn before but now she's a lot harder to get used to.

    @FireHazard-

What does rollback mean in terms of bloodpoints? Sorry for all the questions. 😬

It means your items, BPs, Iridescent Shards, etc will roll back to a previous state they were in.

In a sense, a roll back is when your save progress reverts itself to a previous version of itself from the past. This happens randomly and the reason it does isn't widely known at the moment, except by the devs I believe.
