@FireHazard I get it now, He seems very powerful, I think he creates great pressure as well, I definitely think you can tell the difference between a good Michael and a bad one, Are you prestige with him? I think his Tier 3 is really powerful considering you are exposed for so long, I understand that, Thank you just thought he would ask, How long have you been playing for?

He was my first P3-50 Killer, so I am prestiged in him yes. I have almost every Killer P3-50, but I go very slowly to keep the longevity in terms of a goal for me.

I believe I have 13 out of 18 Killers P3-50'ed and i'm about to have my 14th Killer (Trapper) get to P3-50. After that, I plan on maxing out all my P3-50s perks before I continue P3-50ing my Killer roster. I'll most likely dip into my Survivor roster so I don't run out of Killers to P3-50.

And I've played since October 1st, 2018. Not since Day 1 like some Killers and/or Survivors here, but I have played before NOED was buffed, DS was nerfed, Insta-Healers were removed, etc.

  • @Topid

It could be argued that this is exploiting an "error in design" and that it breaks one of the Game Rules as a result.

It's hard to say if this is true or not, but DCing in-general is something that nobody likes. Unless you're someone that actively DCs against every problem than it's something no one in this community likes or agrees with.

This is why the DC penalty system will be implemented soon, it's to counter-act this never-ending issue and hopefully deter players from doing it again in-game.

More on the debate about this being an "abuse to an error in design"

It's hard to say if this was an exploit in design, since BHVR obviously isn't with the idea of DCing for someone to get the hatch.

[Allow me to link the Game Rules page for context and quote it as well]:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/feedback

Here's the portion from the post that talks about exploits and what counts as abusing bugs and errors in design. This is obviously not a bug, but it's debated to be abusing an error in how the hatch is designed.

EXPLOITS: ABUSING BUGS OR ERRORS IN DESIGN TO GAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

    • Advertising exploits
    • Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage
    • In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

    What's my opinion on this?

While I don't think this is abusing an error in design, it's something that nobody in this community likes in-general. DCing as a whole is something BHVR and the Community dislike heavily, especially if it has a "motive" like this. To be frank, no one wants to face against a DCer, not the Killer and especially the teammates that have to play a 3v1 with the Killer if someone quits mid-match.

I can see where you're coming from and how it's boring to get slugged for the 4k, but DCing in-general is something you should avoid soon when the DC Penalty system is fully implemented into the game.

@FireHazard oh nice :) It is awesome that you mix thing's up :) I main Spirit and Playing a lot of trapper at the moment and will be maining pig as well when I get the right perks for her, My BF mains Doctor and Legion, He also asked is there a recent Tier List at all you know off? I like Myers I just don't understand his Power but he is so scary and fast :)

Myers is essentially the same as GhostFace, except Myers has a small Terror Radius that comes with him in his base-kit, Tier l has a 0 Terror Radius thanks to the Undetectable status effect being on that Tier, Tier ll has a 16 meter Terror Radius with the normal walking speed and lunge distance, and Tier lll applies the exposed status effect to every Survivor in the match while also giving Myers an increased lunge distance and vaulting speed.

Without getting too into it, Myers starts off in Tier l with a small lunge, no Red Light, and no Terror Radius because of that status effect. He gradually gets to his next Tiers by stalking Survivors, similar with how GhostFace stalks Survivors to put them in the exposed status effect (I.E. Mark them), once in Tier lll it lasts for a base time of 60 seconds and than goes back into Tier ll until you recharge it again.

Also, there is no official that I believe exists, DBD focuses primarily on a character appealing to every type of person, with Killers and Survivors alike. having a Tier list that says something like "This Killer is better than the rest of these Killers because..." would be sending the wrong message, especially if it was an official thing from BHVR themselves.

It would in a sense discourage players from trying out the other Killers, so that's most likely why a Tier list doesn't exist from BHVR themselves.

@Fibijean @FireHazard I will do definitely :) Doctor is awesome! His laugh has to be the best in the game :) Good choice of Killers, I must say I struggle with Plague, I just can't work her out very well, Literally I went against a Plague who didn't even use her power and just went around using her weapon she was so fast and killed everyone, The trapper is good as well, I am playing him quite a bit, Firehazard who do you main? Myers? :)

Yes I main Myers, I mostly focus on multiple Killers that're not Top-Tier. I will occasionally use Top-Tier Killers to mix things up, but I primarily use Mid to Low Tier Killers like Legion, Pig, Myers, GhostFace, Trapper, Wraith, etc.

I like the challenge it brings against Red Rank SWFs teams, its fun to me personally.

Nurse's post-blink lunge is also slightly shorter than the regular lunge. However with dedicated servers now its quite often even shorter now.

Basic attack lunges, lunges that're shortened, for example, by a power prior to said lunge is a bit different.

That's why Michael Myers lunge is the only exception, yes it's modified by a power but it doesn't require you to use the power beforehand to than modify it, it's just a level that Myers goes into when he gets a 100% charge in his "stalk meter"

Something like Nurses post-Blink lunge is slightly different since you had to blink beforehand for it to happen, Myers Lunge is always that way in Tier lll. You can still argue that they're both one in the same, but in my opinion it isn't. It's one of those things that I can agree on for both sides, but its hard to really say which is which, like I said though I mostly lean on it not being similar.

@FleshTorpedo @FireHazard and Fibijean Thank you ever so much for your comments, Hazard I am watching the video now so helpful too watch and learn, Fibi I have never tried that so thank you as I seem too have most trouble with Ghostface and I seem too see him a lot everywhere, Apprantley he is Top Tier at the moment? @FleshTorpedo I completely agree with you, I think it is a stupid strategy but as Hazard said if they want to waste time body blocking then it gives the Killer more advantage and also when I see that in a game I usually know if it is a 3/4 stack, May I ask who would you say the Top Tier Killers are? Also I really think it is a cowardly move when they body block then Teabag... Saying that I was playing Ghostface earlier today and I had 1 hooked and 3 body blocking and they all died, So it does pay off it is just annoying and tideous :)

I'm glad I could help you out in some way, it's my pleasure.

  • @Fibijean said:

Freddy's lunge has the same range as every other killer's, not counting Demo's Shred and Pig's Ambush since those are secondary powers, not basic attacks. It just looks longer relative to his body, because he's quite a small killer with quite a short weapon, so his weapon doesn't visually connect with survivors if they're on the edge of his lunge range. Pig has the same problem when she lunges normally.

I think the main issue with lunges on Killers with hand/arm weapons is that they don't reach far enough in 3rd person due to how the hitbox actually reaches out.

That's most likely the case here. Ironically, The Spirit had issues with how far her lunge would reach, and she had a katana... not a glove with blades on it. I don't remember if the lunges were ALWAYS the same, but they're now all the same yes.

I couldn't say exactly where, but I believe it's been confirmed in the past by Mandy that the team usually need video evidence for any offence that happens in-game - body blocking, hacking, working with the opposite team, etc. But feel free to tag her if you'd like confirmation.

I wasn't really looking for confirmation, I was just stating that it doesn't state it in the Game Rules page directly so one would believe this is optional.

In the case of this report i'd say it's since the team isn't able to determine if they broke the rules off of the OP just saying they did, they'd need actual visual proof for something like this. In the case of hacking it's a bit different, since they can detect that in some way.

So, with that being said it would be in his best interest to get video proof yes... if he did. If he didn't, than I don't know what to do for him since video proof is most likely mandatory for this kind of report.

So again, I agree that video proof for a report like this should be something he gets next time... unless he did record it, which I don't know, only the OP does.

  • @Fibijean said:

In addition to what was said above, you'll also need to supply video evidence of what happened alongside the support ticket. Otherwise, the team probably won't be able to do anything to punish the players in question.

I agree that in this circumstance video evidence might be required, but it doesn't explicitly state that it is so... optional? Probably. Hopefully he has video evidence of this beforehand if they ask for it, otherwise it's a bit too late for that.

Just as a side note, your body doesn't actually have to face Ghostface in order to break him out of stealth - I've done it many times while looking behind me during a chase. He just needs to be in the centre of your screen, and at least 20% of his body needs to be visible. But the mechanics of it can be a bit finnicky.

I believe the concept was to have your body face him in the beginning but it became too finicky so... it goes both ways in some cases.

Sometimes it requires the body to face him, sometimes it doesn't, it's a weird system.

  • @Zeidoktor said:

What about Calm + Monitor and Abuse? Or would that be impractical due to the chase requirement for M&A?

It would be counter productive to how his Static Blast works yes, since the Static Blast works off of his Terror Radius and most Doctors use it outside of a chase... not in one. Swap Distressing out for Monitor & Abuse, it gives a larger Terror Radius inside and outside of a chase and it's constantly affixed to this size through out the match.

That combo could be ok to use in a chase with Pre-Rework Doctor, but it for sure doesn't work with Post-Rework Doctor, at least in my opinion.

  • @KingOfBadRNG

If the Killer was working with the other Survivors and farmed with the Survivors right after your death than that's considered "Griefing" which is against the rules. Since the other Survivors blocked you in a corner while letting the Killer down and kill you than the Killer can be at fault, the Survivors, or both depending on how the story goes.

Since the Killer just ignored the other two Survivors and instead downed you specifically and than let you die on the hook while nodding... it's safe to say he was in on it in some way and was working with the opposite team (I.E. The Survivors that bodyblocked you at that Generator)

I'll provide the link to the Game Rules page in the forums itself for context.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

[The following below is a quote from the Game Rules post]:

    GRIEFING: INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY ABUSE

    • Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
    • Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience
    • Holding the game hostage

In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

    what're your options?

Well, you only have one if you want to continue this with a report. For one, you hopefully reported them in-game for this, since an in-game report is required before following up with a support ticket.

You can file an in-game report by clicking the "Thumps Up & Thumps Down" icon next to their name in post-game. Once you've done this, than you can move on to the link below and submit a ticket about this issue.

[Here's the link to the Support Team]:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Depending on what you choose for your ticket, it'll require you grab some information like Player IDs/Player Profiles, etc. So keep that in-mind when you file a ticket, you'll need some things before you can complete this ticket AND an in-game report is REQUIRED, it says so on the Game Rules page as well.

  • @HecatombX

The Freddy lunge is just a meme that's thrown around in DBD. The joke itself mostly stems from how disjointed it looks from the actual hitbox it has, so as a Killer it looks fine but as a Survivor it can look longer than it actually is sometimes.

Every Killer has the same lunge in-game, the only Killers that can modify their lunge or use more extended versions is The Pig's dash, Demogorgons pounce, and Michael Myers in Tier lll. Otherwise, the basic lunge that every Killer has with their M1 attack (I.E. the basic attack) is the same EXCEPT for Michael Myers in Tier lll, since in Tier lll his lunge is extended for a base time of 60 seconds.

Demogorgons pounce and The Pigs dash are just secondary powers, in terms of basic attacks they're all the same except Myers in Tier lll.

    side note

Some lunges might also look longer than normal because of connection issues with Dedicated Servers, so if you see a Trapper hit you from slightly farther away than either The Killers or your connection just had a hiccup.

    @FireHazard

Thank you so much for your tip's and advice I really appreciate it, I will definitely be changing my perks if it does get out of hand, I didn't realize it was a popular strategy as I haven't seen it much, Only recently, What about if the person on the Hook is body blocking and they all get away? Do you recommend the same thing? Also may I ask while I am here is there anyway too counter Ghostface? I don't know about you but I feel he is really strong? What is sluggling, Tunneling, Tapping Gens with Ruin and Streamsniping? Never heard of those, You have been very helpful thank you :)

I'm not sure what you mean by "The person on the hook" as the person on the hook doesn't have the ability to do anything if they're on said hook.

If you mean where the Survivor attempts to hide behind another hooked Survivor than you can simply just mind-game them by going back and forth from side to side until you double back on one side and hit them.

If you mean the person who's sitting on the hook (not actually hooked but they're standing under it) than you simply just go to the hook and than hit them out of the way, if anyone else attempts to get in the way than you also hit them one by one. If it takes the entire time to get that Survivor to wiggle off your shoulder than that means none of them are on Generators and, most likely, they're all in the Injured state after taking so many hits to prevent that Survivor (on your shoulder) from being hooked.

    as for ghostface

He's considered a Mid-Tier Killer, meaning he's neither the best or the worst Killer to use. GhostFace has a lot of potential in-game due to this power (NightShroud) giving him a 0 Terror Radius when active. NightShroud isn't perfect though, GhostFace can be broken out of it from a Survivor looking at him for a few seconds, GhostFace swinging his weapon, or grabbing a Survivor out/off of locker, window, etc.

Also, like Myers, he can give Survivors the "Exposed Status effect" by stalking them until their "circle meter" is fully charged in the bottom left hand corner on their play icon itself. This is hidden to the Survivors until you're marked, but for GhostFace he can see how far a Survivor is before they're marked.

Also, the Exposed Status effect is basically the equivalent to a one-shot down when applied to a Survivor. So when they have this status effect they can be put into the Dying State (I.E. downed instantly) in the Injured and Healthy states.

The differences between Myers and GhostFace is... quite a lot actually, but in terms of how they apply this status effect GF can only do this for one Survivor at a time, while Myers has his own Tier "Called Tier lll" that puts gives every Survivor the exposed status effect when active.

That's a different topic though, the point is GhostFace is a solid Killer to use and face, but he's still just an M1 Killer at his core, so nothing special happens in a chase except for basic chase mechanics that Trapper, Wraith, Pig, etc all do.

    how can I counter ghostface?

Well for one, GhostFace can actually be broken out of his 0 Terror Radius power. To do this you need to be facing the direction GhostFace is in (your body needs to face him) while also looking at GhostFace himself, after a few seconds you'll he'll a "surprised noise" get slightly louder until GhostFace is enveloped in a white aura and no longer has a 0 Terror Radius until his power recharges.

So, this is a way to put him back into the base 32 meter Terror Radius while also hiding behind rocks, since you can do this even if you're behind a decently sized rock and facing your body towards him. It's a bit finicky when you do it that way, but it can be done.

That's essentially it in terms of how to counter his power... since you can literally turn it off by doing that. If you want to know how to loop a basic M1 Killer or a Killer like GhostFace than i'd like to recommend a video below that'll teach you the fundementals of every basic tile in-game. A tile is essentially a loop and there is always the same tiles/loops in most maps, not every map has these basic tiles, but most of them do.

this video will explain how to use these basic tiles

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM&t=59s

(Side-Note) This video is slightly out-dated in terms of new maps that were introduced AFTER or maps that were reworked like Lery's for example. The video is still solid though and still goes over a lot of basic and intermediate tips that any beginner should learn about when playing as a Survivor AND even a Killer when facing said tiles.

Bruh! I wish you could toggle it tho. It's so frustrating when you sneak up on folks with ole ghost face and go to wack and either swing for air or smack a gen bc the lock on pulls you towards who ever runs which way. The only time it's needed is when survivors vault. I have to lunge 99% of time to actually get a hit plus anyone 2 ft from me always gets away because you can 180 so easily. Its like tryna M1 with the chainsaw. Pain in the arse!

Yeah, I understand how you feel since, as I said, I also had this issue happen to me a few times in the past.

Maybe in the future the option can be toggled off and on, but right now it's integrated into the system as a whole, so that's unfortunately something we just have to deal with.

  • @Mystix

Before I get into tips, I just want to address bodyblock as a whole.

If you were wondering if it's a bannable offence or if it's an offence at all than no, it isn't.

[Here's a link to the Game Rules page about this subject]:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

For context i'll post below what the Game Rules states as discarded report reasons.

    DISCARDED REPORTS REASONS

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT

    • Camping
    • Slugging
    • Tunneling
    • Streamsniping
    • Teabagging
    • Bodyblocking
    • Looping
    • Tapping generators with ruin

besides bannable offences, here are some tips I can give

Before I do though, i'd like to reiterate that Bodyblocking the Killer from the hook is considered a strategy among Survivors and as the rules state is not a bannable offence. Anyways, there are some ways you can try and work around it with certain perks and what-not, but the action itself is considered ok to do.

You can try using perks like Mad Grit that shortens the cool-down between your swings when holding a Survivor or you can also try using perks like Iron Grasp and or Agitation to help you get to the hook a lot quicker or hold the Survivor for a lot longer. Usually Killers use both when it comes to basement builds, but if this is a big issue for you than i'd just recommend using Agitation or Iron Grasp and not both.

Eventually you should try and get used to not using these perks at all, but if this is a big issue for you than you can try those perks as an option to circumvent this problem. If you want to try and learn a way to get around this than you should simply just power through it and hit each Survivor that gets in your way to the hook, focus on getting there first and than hit any Survivors that're in your way from hooking the Survivor on your shoulder.

If they still wiggle off, than you at least damaged most of the team, which allows you to down another Survivor quickly and than hook them right after. If the entire team wastes their time bodyblocking you from the hook than no progress is being done in terms of Generator repairs, so I wouldn't worry about the chance that the Survivor on your arm wiggles off... since most of the team that blocked you will be damaged from being hit and nobody is on the Generators for the most part if they're busy blocking you from the hook.

    (tl;dr...ish)

Just focus on getting to the hook with the Survivor you have on your arm. Once you're there, if anyone attempts to block the hook than just hit them to make them move out of the way, if the entire team is there blocking the hook than they're just giving you free hits and not spending time on the Generators.

Usually if you're fairly close to a hook than it'll require the entire team to get that Survivor off your shoulder, if it took you a bit to get to that hook than you should try focus on getting there and attempting to hook them, ignore Survivors that try and follow you as they won't have enough time to get in front of you unless they're already at the hook.

Also, try using perks like Mad Grit to decrease the cool-down between swings (when holding a Survivor). If the issue is severe than you can try using either Iron Grasp or Agitation to help with this issue, Agitation increases your movement speed when holding a Survivor and Iron Grasp gives you more time to hold said Survivor.

Don't use both, it's not recommended.

I don't make the options my man.

It's to help new players and vets alike, sometimes it DOES help and sometimes it ruins a chase. Perhaps they'll add an option to disable it in the future and maybe you can suggest it if you'd like.

  • @BabyYODA1445

It's supposed to be, as the name implies, an aim assist for Killers to have when trying to do basic M1 attacks or lunges at the Survivor.

I believe it's primarily implemented to help "noob" Killers out with the game and give them some support on basic M1 attacks and lunges, but for veteran players it usually makes you lock on-to the Survivor and hit a wall instead if they go into say... a room nearby. I can't say this hasn't happened to me before as well, but it makes sense that it exists for Killers that could use the help mid-chase or just in-general for newer players.

  • @Nutty_Professor

There is no preferred build to the play-style you have, Spirit is a very versatile Killer and it's best to just use builds that maximize her potential in a chase and as well as increase her distance for each phase walk.

If you want to focus more on how to properly use her than I can provide some tips and perks to suggest below.

    tips, tricks, perks, and add-ons

Spirit at her core is a versatile Killer, but she's primarily a "rush down Killer" since she can easily hit a Survivor and phase walk to them for a fast down.

What makes her so versatile you may ask? Well, traveling through out the map is not an issue with her phase walking so that's good for your type of play-style, she can also use said phase walking to down Survivors through manipulation and mind-games of where she'll end up, and it also gives her distance to travel around large loops and meet Survivors at the other side of loops that're very strong against Killers.

I'd like to try something different with this section though, instead of explaining it to you through text (which usually is a 50/50 on how people absorb said knowledge) or I can offer you a (slighly out-dated) video on how to effectively use her in chases. Before suggesting this video I will list down below the changes The Spirit got that makes this video out-dated, but the tips this video provides are still very solid for the most part and it should help you out with understanding where to phase and what to do at a loop.

The video below covers the add-ons, perks, tips and tricks, so I won't be listing the add-ons below but I will be listing the perks below for my build suggestion.

Here's the guide on how to use the spirit effectively

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AG8v-5sszA&t=393s

a follow up video on the nerf (video starts at 3:40)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtFIFJDyqJ0&t=134s

    what were the spirit changes/nerfs?

I'll list below what was changed on The Spirit specifically, so be sure to read this before or after the video, either times work. (Please go below for the link on the Spirit changes.)

    • The Spirits collision was changed, The Spirit can no longer bump into Survivors during her phase walk and she instead walks through them during a phase
    • Base-kit reappearance speed was changed, what this means is that her speed after she reappears during a phase walk now decreases at a faster rate than before the change.
    • The Spirits Window vaulting animation was changed, instead of having no animation and phasing through the window she now has a clear animation of her vaulting over the window from the Survivors view. You can still mind-game this because of how the phase works, but it's not as effective as before.
    • Many of her add-ons were changed like Prayer Beads, Wakizashi Saya, Katana Tsuba, Yakuyoka Amulet, etc. There will be a link below that goes further into what these changes were.

[Here's the link to the 3.4.0 Patch notes that released The Spirits changes]:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108852/patch-notes-3-4-0-cursed-legacy#latest

my build suggestion for the spirit

What I primarily use on The Spirit is a combination of a few different perks. I sometimes use perks like Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, etc that I swap around and mix and match, but if you're a good Spirit than you won't need these add-ons in-game and it's better to just bring Pop Goes the Weasel, which I've grown to only bring over those two perks above.

But, these are the perks below that I use for The Spirit, some I change around and what not but the build I primarily focus on is Save The Best for Last, Pop Goes the Weasel, Stridor, and BBQ & Chili. Usually I list every perk that works with a Killer, but for the sake of not breaking my fingers every time I do this... i'll just list the ones in the build itself below and the rest is up for interpretation.

    • Save The Best for Last [A Myers perk] (This perk is amazing on The Spirit and it's a must have for your build. Every hit you get on a non-obsession Survivor adds a 5% decreased cool-down to succesful hits. Each token that's added will increase this percentage by 5% each time for a maximum of 8 tokens. Never use this perk outside of Tier lll, mainly because if you hit the obsession with a Tier l or Tier ll STBFL than you'll lose 4 tokens for Tier l and 3 tokens for Tier ll for every hit you take on the obsession. So, it's best to use the Tier lll version that only takes off 2 tokens if you hit the obsession.)
    • Pop Goes the Weasel [A Clown perk] (After hooking a Survivor, the next Generator you break is instantly regressed by 25% of its total progression. Normal Generator Regression applies after the damage is done. Pop Goes the Weasel is active for 40/50/60 seconds after the Survivor is hooked. So in a sense, on a Killer like The Spirit this perk is a god-tier combo, you can easily traverse around the map with The Spirit and break any Generators that're at 70%, 80%, etc. You can even use it during a chase and still catch the Survivor if you're good enough, it's that good on The Spirit.)
    • Stridor [A Nurse perk] (Survivors' Grunts of Pain are 25/50/50% louder and regular breathing is 0/0/25% louder. This perk is by far the best perk you'll want to use on The Spirit. I know you said you don't have it, but you should really get it for The Spirit since it not only makes it easier to track Survivors during a phase walk, it also alerts you to any nearby Survivors you walk past AND cancels out Iron Will, a perk that's essentially a counter to The Spirits phase-walking... somewhat. You can substitute it out for Corrupt Intervention or Ruin, but it's best to try and get this perk for The Spirit.)
    • BBQ & Chili [A LeatherFace perk] (After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 meters from the Hook. Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a 25% stack-able bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100%. Great perk for point grinding and for its passive ability that turns out to be more of a main ability at this point. This perk is great for where the Spirit will phase next and it also gives The Spirit a lot of spacial awareness of the map and what each Survivor is doing 40 meters away from the hook, it really is something you should add on The Spirit.)

As said above i'll only be listing the 4 perks of my build and the rest is up for interpretation. You can try swapping Stridor out for Ruin or Corrupt Intervention, but it's best to just try and unlock the perk, since it really is that good on The Spirit.

But you can swap it out for something else, it isn't going to ruin your entire build if you do.

    conclusion

I hope this helps you out in some way, if it doesn't than sorry it didn't. Either way, hope you find what you're looking for in the future and hopefully this did give you what you were looking for!

    Stay safe out there,

    see you in the fog.

@Fibijean well, it's a bit lazy to see all those levels but I will, coming for you tier 70 ! thank you!

With 70 days you'll be fine, I can promise you that.

It might look discouraging because of how many levels there are, but you can do each level and have a grace period in-between to just play normally until the next level comes out. Also, this rewards you with passive Rift Fragments that you get for every 800 EXP you gain, so its a nice mid-level break bonus.

But yeahs, you can do all the levels on the free track to level 70 and still get the premium rewards when you buy the pass at the start or at the end.

Just a small tip, Feng Min cosmetic will be available through iridiscent shards when the rift closes so, even if you don't get the last piece (I believe it's the head) you will have enough shards to buy it if you don't spend them.

I actually do like what they did with the contest winners skins, they're available early in The Rift and still purchasable afterwards in the shop.

    As all things should be.

  • @Hex_BoopTheSnoot

They're not something that BHVR hands out to the public, so whatever you can find in google images is about the best you will get.

Unless you recreate these icons yourself, otherwise that's the best you'll get i'm afraid.

Damn I don't play on PC so I can't access the game files. Do you know if anyone else has already done this?

Also, you'll have to look around on other parts of the internet to find someone who does, since I doubt anyone who does specializes in that sort of thing would just pop up here.

    Sorry.

...you do know to get Adept Oni, you can't use any of these perks, right? 😏

I think a lot of people mistake the words "Adept Oni" with "Oni Build" for some reason, this isn't the first time someones done this.

  • @FilthyLegionMain said:

how about like 5 percent for a great and just a small increase in speed for a good?

I don't see an issue with that change... that much. The idea behind the wiggle bar is that it's a 2nd chance for a Survivor to get off The Killers back if they're too far from a hook or being blocked by teammates.

I suppose if the bonus is small enough that it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but a lot of players (mostly Killers) would probably be bombarded with builds that revolve around breaking 1 hook in the corner late in-game and than just running to the edge of the map for a quick jump off the Killers arm... effectively wasting a lot of their time and still getting away.

  • @Gyuki

No, nothing increases the 4 seconds that it takes to lift a pallet.

I believe that design choice was intentional so players don't just instantly pick up pallets mid-chase and create infinites at insanely strong loops.

Me too, I do hope it all works out in the end. A lot of people asked for a system like this one so, i'm sure they'll do their best on it.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot Switch existed xD Today really isn't my day.

I honestly forget the Switch exists too...

But it's ok to not know, sometimes I get things wrong as well. That's life, nobody's perfect.

Ah, yep that's correct. Should have checked my facts like I usually do, I got lazy. So yeah, right now the Windows Store is the only place you can't get the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter.

Doesn't the Switch version not have it either? Not at the moment anyways.

  • @BeardedMenace said:

Awesome. Thank you guys. Much appreciated help! I'll probably be spending a lot of BP lol. Glad I got plenty. Soooo is there a point to even Prestige? Besides the bloody pieces you get and a prestige to brag about?? Just wondering if it's worth prestiging

Besides all that though, i'm glad we were able to answer your question!

  • @Fibijean said:

The Nightmare on Elm Street chapter isn't available on the Microsoft Store version of the game, presumably for licensing reasons. I believe Steam is the only platform where you can play it currently, but the devs have been trying to acquire permission to release it on other platforms from what I've heard, so that will hopefully change in the future.

I believe console has it too, Xbox and PS4.

It's mostly worth it to get more "rare" items in your blood-webs and for the cosmetics, otherwise it's just to give you a goal for the most part in terms of the points you get.

Oh hey you again! And yea that would make sense haha, thanks for the helpful answer!

No problem, it just seems like the most reasonable thing that happened.

Since it doesn't make sense that Azarov's Resting Place isn't a part of the Auto Haven Wreckers map set if... it's literally where Azarov was buried (as the name implies).

  • @Th0ughtless

You could just be looking too into something that was probably an error in how the map was listed. Like I said it was most likely an error on BHVRs part when writing up the survey, since the map is indeed a part of the Auto Haven Wreckers map set.

Azarov's Resting Place (As the name implies) was probably where The Wrath buried Azarov's body or at the very least killed Azarov, but he took his Skull and Spine and made it into his iconic weapon.

  • @BeardedMenace

If you got these perks after Dwight got every perk he could get on his blood-web than the next blood-web you get on Dwight will reveal these teachables.

There is no limit to how many teachables can show up in a blood-web, but there is a limit to how many perks can show up in one blood-web depending on your characters level.

If they aren't grinding for the rewards in the rift, it isn't relevant. It's as simple as that.

We aren't talking about the tome challenges, but the actual rift itself.

Depends how you look at it, you can give an opinion on anything and it could be as useful as someone who's say... a vet in DBD.

But if it's just echoing the same things people have said than yeah, it can be kind of irrelevant at that point.

Yes it is the xbox game pass on pc.

It doesn't give an option to buy freddy as I've bought the other killers. Was just curious as to why I have to face him as a survivor but I have no option of being him.

I'm not entirely aware on how Xbox Game Pass works on PC specifically, but there's a possibility that you can't buy it through the Xbox Game Pass due to a licensing issue or an error through the Xbox Game Pass itself.

You can try contacting the Support Team about this issue to get a more clear answer, but that's about as much as I can say on said issue.

Thank you, just finished also with jane. Didnt unlock either

Yeah than your challenges might be bugged or something, so I suggest going to the Support Team about this issue.

Obviously i'd assume you selected these challenges, but sometimes people forget too and think they had them selected, you can select a challenge as an "active challenge" by hovering your mouse over said challenge and holding down on the challenge until it's fully lit up in a blue "aura" effect.

But since you did several challenges before that one... I doubt that's the issue here. So yes, please contact support about this issue.

Although I didn't got to see a visual (neither arrow or bubble)(I was facing down, so it may had happened with me not noticing), I believe that's the explanation. And foolish me was then spamming M2 to sense survivors :))) (well ... I would had done that either way, truth be told). Thanks for the explanation <3

    yummy david

No problem, glad I could help clear things up... I think.

  • @armandfm11

If you "Channel The Abyss" while a Survivor walks or stands on an active portal than you'll hear a heartbeat SFX and actually see a visual notification for which portal they're standing on/walking past.

That's probably what you heard, someone walked by a portal and you thought it was the downed Survivor next to you or something.

    Hello again!-

I truly appreciate those that stopped by my post to help out! I don’t have many friends that play this game, let alone invest much time into it to really understand how a lot of things work or know why something is the way it is. For those of you who may be in here to just troll, please excuse yourself from the post as I don’t want anyone’s efforts to help me getting lost among nonsense. :)

But anyways, i collected some screenshots after reading some more replies. I have the Bill perks on my Nea shown, my Nancy bloodweb, and i pulled up Bill’s character info. All of his perks are showing as locked. I know i unlocked them after he was released, but i wanted to double check myself (even though i still have the old screenshots i took as reminders to check out the shrine on the previously mentioned dates).

I decided to go back and look at my Xbox achievements to get an idea of when i started playing again after i took a long break from the game. I’m talking a year break. I got back into the game and playing daily/weekly beginning of early September 2019.

So then I looked at Bill’s release date to console; it was reported in July. Just to make sure i wasn’t crazy, i reviewed a list of every shrine leading up to his release time frame. Neither the BT or Unbreakable were featured beforehand. Now, i read it twice, but please someone don’t hesitate to correct me if i missed it! :)

So all in all, I’m truly stumped on how i unlocked them post Bill console release, and no longer have them. Sorry for the long post, but hopefully i provided as much details as possible.

Thank you all again for the help!

    @Fibijean

Hopefully this is what you're looking for.

  • @hamerto

No, the challenge only asks that you complete it by finishing one Generator or more and escaping the trial.

You did so twice as you said and it wasn't completed, so this means the challenge is bugged for you and you should contact the Support Team so they can help you with your issue.

    [Here's the Support Team link]:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Also as an optional thing you can file a bug report about it to the Bug Report sub-forum, if you're interested of course.

Well that's only if it works, i think it will be an improvement but will still not fixed with that, a program to determine how well you played is kind of impossible for a game like DbD

Tho, to go back to the "main" topic, maybe the achievements broke because of the appearance of this skill ranking ?

It'll probably need some tweaking of course, as most new things do, but i'm sure it'll be a step in the right direction for the future of DBDs matchmaking system.

The change is going to gradual as the status update says, so it's not being sent out the day after that post was released.

  • @TG_Cid_Orlandu

I know this was directed to BHVR and or the Devs, but as the red box above this sub-forum states, "Please note: although we may stop by occasionally, this is not a developer Q&A."

Meaning they might come by and see this, but this sub-forum is primarily for asking the community questions. Not saying you're not allowed to direct your question to them or anything, but i'm just letting you know in-case they don't respond to your post.

    besides that though

BHVR does not break the Steam Achievements on purpose and they're always looking to improve and fix them.

Also, the change to the matchmaking is a healthy one since a lot of players (especially new players) are being paired with Survivors that're way down the ranking system or Survivors that're at the top of said ranking system. The same goes for Killers, a coordinated team (not a SWFs) would sometimes be paired with a Green Rank Killer for example... which is an unfair fight since the team that Killer is facing is usually Red Ranks, mixed with Purple, or it's their actual rank bracket.

This change is going to make everything a lot more fair and challenging for Killers that seek a challenge with Survivors that're in their skill-set as well as keeping newer players with Survivors/Killers that're in their own skill-set. So in a sense, Top-Tiers play with Top-Tiers and Mid-Tiers play with Mid-Tiers, so on and so forth.

This is actually something a lot of people suggested in the past and I personally am glad it's finally being taken into account.

  • @Deadeye said:

@Fibijean btw (offtopic) do you have another thread or more details on your survey for the first rift?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1043446#Comment_1043446

@Brainfck Yes, the rough estimate is, you need one tier per day to finish the whole rift. So before the next level comes out, you should be at rift tier 14. The challenges will give you a boost so you will be higher after the first week, second week might go slower. Just as an average to keep yourself on track and estimate if you can manage to complete it.

Level 1 and 2 are two weeks each, level 3 and 4 last for three weeks

Right, that's essentially the best way to maximize your Rift Fragments during each Tome.

Of course though, not everyone has the time to do this, so if you have a decent amount of time to do these things than it's in everyones best interest to go by these guidelines to be "efficient" in a sense.

  • Also, some small off-topic advice related to The Rift itself.

If you plan on doing every challenge that comes out than that's good, it's best to get all those challenges out of the way and boost your Rift fragments a lot faster than you would just playing regular matches.

And since most people will have a grace period between Tome levels, you can just play normally afterwards and gain passive Rift Fragments by getting 800 EXP each time! You can gain this "infinitely" but it'll stop happening when you reach Tier 70 on The Rift.

I mean... unless you get that bug where you can't get 800 EXP for 1 Rift Fragment, if you do get that bug than contact the Support Team about it.

  • @SunderMun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1041526#Comment_1041526

...That's the point, though. They can't have much say on the grind of the rift itself if they don't actually partake in it.

I suppose not, but we don't really know if they actually bother with the grind itself outside of the streams... unless you tune in every time and still see that they did 0 challenges.

Even than, if you can give some insight from an outside perspective than I don't see how that's a bad thing. It's like saying someone can't give their opinion because they're not regularly in Red Ranks... they can still give an opinion regardless if they're in Red Ranks or not.

My examples never hit home though, so in a more basic way just view it like this, if they have a valid opinion to give than I don't see why it's a bad thing to hear/read about it. I mean, everyone could tell that some of the Tome l - Level 4 challenges were too much to do and we weren't even there yet, so they changed them and got better challenges to reflect said change.
