I'm pretty sure a downed survivor near a portal will trigger of the abyss so there wouldn't be a way to know if there was indeed another survivor within the portal area.

I think the "downed in proximity" idea is out in this case, but it's good to know, thanks ^-^

If you "Channel The Abyss" while a Survivor walks or stands on an active portal than you'll hear a heartbeat SFX and actually see a visual notification for which portal they're standing on/walking past.

That's probably what you heard, someone walked by a portal and you thought it was the downed Survivor next to you or something.

Although I didn't got to see a visual (neither arrow or bubble)(I was facing down, so it may had happened with me not noticing), I believe that's the explanation. And foolish me was then spamming M2 to sense survivors :))) (well ... I would had done that either way, truth be told). Thanks for the explanation <3

    yummy david

  • Well, rip 9k shards then (at least, when I'll get the DLC)

    Thanks for the answers :3

  • @Chi said:

Nope. But the DLC is worth it for Jeff.

Agree. Like I said, 5$ for Jeff or 4$ for Jeff and Legion and cosmetic (if one's buying in a sale, I'm not THAT desperate for DLCs ).

  • I ... feel quite scared rn :))

Jokes aside, I sometimes thought how Dwight and Claudette would work out (and not specifically ... that) . I mean, they're both kinda shy, by their animations. Nervous, both have glasses lol and both can hide. It feels like a straight yes or no, taking Dwight's combo in failure in life and Claudette's ... well, forums reputation and introvert style.

Legion was never worth the money. Only reason I got it was because of the survivor.

Pretty much my strategy right now :]

    Buy him with shards.

Considering how often I'll get to play (because of life), I'll stick to the (late) 4$ and keep my nearly 9k shards

    @OMagic_ManO said:

Very cool design, but they practically have no power, the power is just about only good for running to gens, but Hillbilly does that better, you can use Feral Frenzy to locate people but eh, add ons suck too and are boring but they plan for reworking the add ons, probably will turn out like their rework, bad.

Basically if you want, you could, but I'd prefer a Killer with a power.

Agree with the design, that's what draw me to ... them. But running to a gen *might not work* (if you are late; you're gonna suffer a 4 sec stun and the survivor(s) will have that gen probably done by the time you arrive - maybe it applies for a short distance)

    @Dragonredking said:

No, wait for his rework, see you in a year or so

(Metallica) Sad but True ( if you think about it... Jeff should enjoy Metallica ;) )

Hey, wanna hear a joke? Legion

If you buy him, expect bullying and looping till daylight. He is literally worse than bubba and he also has his own tier, namely the legion tier

If it was pre rework legion i would say yes

Felt that (to be honest, went kinda on a death wish there, not being a killer main and all...)

(then again, with the WONDERFUL MATCHMAKING -hope it's fixed by now- I managed to defeat some ranks 2 and 4 with billy. and I don't play billy. AT ALL)

    (even rank 19 on killer :l )

    (my mind = confused)

btw I'll stick to ghosty boi lol

and HAPPY Blood hunt event ... thing.

The devs clearly haven't learned anything. Something needs to be done about totem placement. I spawned literally right next to the ruin.

    https://youtu.be/kTVsxIw9kE0

Ignoring the title, totem placement is a joke, I can agree. At the bright side, an early clean gives you a straight lead to a survivor. Paired with Thrill of the Hunt, *insert Noice meme*

    but placement still sucks

Maybe a custom placement of a few/all totems by the killer on a 2d map, before the match, would do the trick. Maybe

(Original PTB fact : 28 after trial's start, I cleansed a Ruin totem. 2 seconds later I got smacked by a Nurse and luckily escaped with a pallet stun. Even without her Thrill of the hunt, she would had a good lead on me. Fast-traveler killer may help with totems

    but they still suck)

  • @FireHazard said:

    @armandfm11

If you desire a thrill of the hunt, than I don't think Legions right for you. His design and literally his meta revolves around the suffering of the Survivors...

This means what I literally suggested above, just constantly damaging Survivors and making them Heal THAN downing people when most or all of the team is injured and healing to avoid the speed penalty's.

But you do you man, I wish you the best in the future.

I have to give you the point on that. I liked that Frenzy in terms of "thrill of chase"; that rush of energy looked cool. But, in-game, it doesn't feel a lot like the hype you should get from those speedy chases. And, once the survivor is injured the fun goes dead. So, bottom line, I'm not pleased with him (without any perks or add-ons).

Either way, the conclusion/ what I learnt today :They're maybe playable, if handled well and with good perks. But putting perks aside, they're not good. Learnt that both ways (stubborn me). So, I wish you all luck if you try Legion on level 1 with no perks (seriously, don't. Unless you are low rank and a bit experienced with killing, don't.)

    Also should be noted :

If the chase is in a tight place (trees / obstacles), closing in to a wounded survivor and ending your power might work. Did the job well for me (too bad that was the only bit of time I managed to not get rekt)

Sprinting around the map : meh... 4 seconds cooldown and slower than Billy boi, for compassion. Maybe only for short-mid distances (25, 30m, idk).

Triggering the power early (e.g. : rushing a survivor working on a gen) might not work always, and you might end up with the holy stun on you

*just some things I think they're worth mentioning from my first trial - but it's my FIRST - don't take everything 100% sure, 'cuz I'm absolutely no Legion pro*

Well, that settles that. I'm hoping for a buff for them, but I don't regret buying the DLC, not because of the Legion, but because Jeff alone is 5$. Bad killer or not, it is a win-win situation. But, if it wasn't for the sale, Legion would not be on my killers.

Once again, thank you all for the time to help a fellow survivor ^-^

and sorry for all the nonsense I talked. I'm not a killer main. Not fresh on the game, but not the killer 24/7 kind

EDIT : Marked the answers as a summary for the ones who don't enjoy a deep talk. Also FIreHazard's answer for perks and builds to try, if are not as stubborn as me to level up everyone equally.

long story short : Without perks, BAD killer.

  • @FireHazard said:

    @armandfm11

To be honest, he can actually be a threat in a match and can even 4k even in his Post-Patch state.

If you combine certain perks that go well with him, he can easily be a tough Killer to Survivor against. I recommend if you do actually get him to focus more on hurting Survivors than hooking them, by this I mean you want to focus on Feral Frenzy hitting everyone to get them to mend as constantly as possible to have them avoid doing gens.

Having Thanatophobia and or Ruin on Legion also maximizes the time it takes people to actually DO generators, and overall he can still be something that's not easy to avoid... If you decide to get him, try this build out. Its Thanatophobia, Nurses Calling, BBQ and Chili, and for the 4th slot either Discordance, Pop goes the Weasel, Ruin, Thrilling Tremors, or Corrupt Intervention.

    1. Since I focus on having every owned character at the same level (can't decide whose teachables to get first) and getting characters with shards rather than going for the shrine (not a Bubba, Hag or Clown player), the idea's out for a while.
    2. I mainly enjoy, as said above, the thrill of the hunt. Not strictly the win. Just a good chase and a horror experience.

But I appreciate the build suggestion and I'll keep that in mind. (to myself : fear the dailies )

  • Ok, so... at the end of the day, he sucks. The power might make one's life harder for 15 seconds, if lucky a whole group, but the second phase of the chase (injured to down) will be hell. Kinda disappointed, to be honest... Well, I think I'll just get the DLC for 1. Not wasting 5$ on a single character (shards will go to Kate or Spirit) 2. Jeff is love, 3. Exclusive cosmetic lol and 4. Hopes to have a buff for Legion *looks at Freddy* . But, as all you kind people said, he sucks, so for another human being looking to buy this DLC straight up for Legion, consider this.

Anyway, thank you all for the support <3 (now idk who to give the *did this answer the question?* think (lol))... Don't want to be unfair to everyone.

(p.s. : 4 seconds of power cooldown is enough for survivors to gain distance, if I stop the power next to them ? )

  • @ColoursBleed said:

I got the Legion on release, but I instantly regretted it.

Jeff Is a decent survivor, but I just couldn't get to grips with playing as legion. Personally, I would reccomend going for The Spirit or Michael Myers if you dont already have them. I've had a lot of fun using those two.

I've already got Myers (my first DLC). I considered the Clown and Shape DLCs, but I'm not that attracted to the Clown and Adam (I almost got 9000 shards, so I have a backup plan). Apart from Jeff, Legion's personality/vibe is what attracts me. But a weak killer would be of no use...

I'm still giving this a thought. In the end, 5 $ on a solo character is worse than 4$ on 2 + exclusive item that no one cares about :))

If you want to play a strong killer, No.

If you want to have fun, No (i mean, for me it's not fun being harmless)

If you want a killer to pip with, Yes.

If you want a killer for farming, Meh, there's Doctor.

Harmless ? Except the ups of dealing with healthy survivors ( specially groups), he's like the Trapper, or Wraith, or, idk... A basic killer vs. injured survivors.

(Just now it crossed my mind) Wait ... does he have a lower base movement speed ? I may have completely missed that point..

  • @YeetoDorito said:

I play legion for bloodpoints, almost every game i get 32k (max), run BBQ&Chili and bring a survivor pudding (100% more bloodpoints). I seem to get 92k bloodpoints every game with that and no more, so i guess i get the max. He's fun imo, as sprinting and vaulting with frenzy is cool, but he's not the best in terms of ranking up and red ranks. Survivors just mend immediately when you hit then and go after someone else but idc. I usually hit everyone, then target the last one i hit and hook then. Rinse repeat and i get 4k with max bloodpoints. The key is to make sure every survivor gets 3 hooked, dont tunnel or camp them.

Jeff isnt that great in my opinion, but if you like him go ahead!

I like Jeff's personality. I don't look at his personal perks (I'll use others' teachables), I look at his style of being :)

    @FrenziedRoach said:

I'm currently working on Jeff and have found that his Dissonance perk is surprisingly good if you're like me and just like to avoid the killer completely. Break Down is funny, but I don't find much use for it. As for Aftercare... just bring Bond ffs.

As for Legion - pretty weak killer right now. But his Dissonance perk is pretty damn good as it tells you where half the survivor team is when it fires. Mad Grit is pretty meh. Iron Maiden can be interesting on certain killer builds - but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

IMO, Dissonance is what makes Legion worth getting as it's a damn good perk over all. It's also one of the few perks that synergizes well with the killer it released with.

Well ... good call with Jeff's perks. I thought Dissonance wasn't going to be that good, and Break Down quite useful (ok, for tunnelers, campers or unlucky/stupid saves). (for Aftercare, it's HUGE awareness at the cost of hook stages - not something you want to sacrifice). Thanks :3

For Legion, if I see Jane in the lobby, Iron Maiden it is :P

  • Well, I'm starting to make an idea about Legion. But besides slowing a survivor down (with the mending)(if you're lucky, stop everyone from doing gens for a while) and fast vaulting, does stopping the power near an injured survivor works ( for a close hit and down) ? 'cuz I can't really see any other tactic for injured survivors (the power is basically extreme mobility and fast spread of injury on nearby survivors, but only effective against not injured survivors)

(Trying to make an idea if I'll have a bad time with Frank)

  • Quite interesting... If we are taking about first survivor that touched the Entity's realms, that would be very first victims that attracted Benedict to research the Entity and ultimately got captured himself. But I can't tell if they're the first 4 survivors (Meg, Dwight, Claudette and Jake) or other people, not playable (random civilians). And they might be even others, later-released survivors or not released yet.

I took a look in the first lore of the game : Benedict's journal. If a survivor was living in that town, Weeks (in America), it should be the first victim to get grabbed by the Entity. After all, from what I remember, the Entity expands more with each soul captured. It had to start somewhere. It started with the 364 unlucky victims. Not sure, but I don't think any of our playable survivors (and Nea :P ) lives there. Maybe, one future survivor would be from Weeks, a survivor that would help with the Entity's real story. But, it's just an idea. I'm probably just talking nonsense :)

As for the earliest period of time, I would go for Bill (he's old and he's from a quite old game). Either him, or I would go with ImmersedNurse's idea. It should be a survivor that acts, wears or looks in a more older fashion. But these two come first in my mind : Benedict or Bill.

For the killer part : first to set foot on the realm ? Trapper. He was the only one playable in the beta. He was the first. As for the earliest period of time, I'm going with ImmersedNurse : Plague's the oldest.

Maybe, in the future, the Archive will make the story behind the Entity clearer.

Huh? I can see the lockers part, but totems? Excus me, but totems are cleansed with another button. Both on keyboard-mouse and gamepad. And lockers aren't actually a problem since 2016. They're moved far enough from windows and have a much smaller interaction zone now. the only reason for you to jump in them accidentally would be te fact that you spam a button when you're nowhere near pallet/window or you being turned into it by Hag's trap (like in the shack).

Totems ? Quite weird, I agree. With totems I didn't had any problems, and with the locjers a long time ago. Simply calm and control of the chase (and a bit of distance) should be enough.

  • Yup. And I don't want to imagine my life as a killer with akimbos :(Peasant said:
The hell is an Akimbo flashlight? Ever since the flashlight nerf that got rid of insta-blinds I have no issue with flashlights. Got even better when they messed with the pick up animation time. Most Survivors can’t use flashlights worth a damn anymore.

If I see 4 flashlights i’ll toss on Lightborn, but that’s about it.
I believe that "Akimbo" means dual wielding is I am not mistaken. So an Akimbo flashlight means that they have 2 flashlights at once?

  • Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could change that you can press ctrl one time to crouch and that you need to press ctrl again to walk or shift for a sprint, cause I play this game a lot and my fingers are hurting after a few games already from holding the crouch button xd

You may want to leave it like this, my guess : you have a better reaction in case you need to run

i dont know if anyone has seen a worse one but i think this weeks takes the gold for both killer and survivor

i mean who even uses stridor and fireup could be good but isnt enough and wglf could be good but its not nearly as good as it could be and vigil is just bad

Stridor is the best perk you could use for spirit

If you are playing on PC then I would say Stridor is great, however on console its not fantastic unless you are one of the odd ones who bought an expensive headset.

On PC, with a headset it happened quite a few times to find a hidden survivor by the grunts of pain, but without Stridor. I don't see it being quite useful unless you got a bad hearing, you can just plug in the headphones and turn up the volume while patroling.
  • I think WGLF is ok to bad now, if an token was added for a diversion (by bring hit) or another protective or altruistic action it would be good for the BP :3
  • Free flashlights for SWF ... that already sounds evil.
    Akimbo flashes ? Double evil ... :)

    Hex: SANIC
When the Survivors are on the verge of escaping, you put on your red & white sneakers.
Once the Exit Gates are powered, if a Dull Totem remains on the map, this Hex is applied to it.
You gain a permanent Bloodlust Tier 3 effect.
Your Terror Radius music changes to the SANIC ear-######### theme.

    10/10 best perk ever :))

David's free so no p2w. The meta would not be the main concern tho ;)

    But his "special top"... y'know

OOF. Guess well have to nerf it so David has to remove ALL of his clothes before healing. Y'know for balance purposes
That won't have any sense then. Why to take off your pants to heal a wound on your back ?
Your idea isn't bad, but it would heavily influence gameplay, for the killer side. At most, if the want to make the game more realistic, they can make the survivors lift up a bit their tops to heal up, but 1. Topless of "exposed" tops cosmetics (Kate, David) would put the game in a p2w /unfair advantage, and 2. The girls would be more exposed, an possible sensitive point, idk. Also, it wouldn't be nice to have the killer come while healing :))
And I think the latest updates, with the slower heal and the Mangled effect, plus an quite often Sloppy Butcher showing in matches (my experience) had already slowed the healing enough.
