I haven't had any of these issues untill last update. Its ridiculous
One of those issues is actually from a previous version as well, but it was slightly different.
In-general, i'd contact support about this if the issue is causing you to not be able to play the game as a Survivor for example or just in-general is hindering normal game-play.
See what they say, they might be able to help you or give you some information on the issue.

Oh I don't think it should combo with pop. It should just be better.
The change is still relatively new, so they're still gathering data on it which they also said in the Dev Stream for the 3.5.0 patch.
At the time the Dev Stream was LIVE they said they only had about 2 days of data on it, so some suggestions like GrootDudes "Have you thought about keeping the "no great skill check progress" part of Ruin?" will be considered as an addition to the perk if it doesn't live up to BHVRs expectations.

It only starts being worthwhile if you can simultaneously chase two survivors off of 2 semi-completed gens, at that point you're getting half the rate of regression that the two remaining survivors can pump out. Unfortunately there is not a single killer that can simultaneously threaten two survivors as long as they're not potatoes. So long as you're only pressuring one survivor off an uncompleted gen, the others will be doing gens at 6x the rate of progress of your automatic regression. High risk, "high" reward right?
Depends, the issue with having Pop and Overcharge working with New Ruin is that they'd have to decide how Pop would work on multiple Generators being cut off in the first place, does it distribute the percentage across each evenly or does it just apply to the one?
The concept there doesn't make sense in-general. Also, Overcharge would apply itself on every Generator a Survivor gets off of... effectively making it less OP and more annoying than anything. The benefit of Overcharge and Pop is that you can apply them yourself on Generators that you spend time kicking, having them automatically apply to Generators that get damaged when a Survivor hops off of them is counter intuitive to their design.
Honestly, Ruin is fine the way it is and the combo's you can use with it are solid as well when used right. They're obviously not UBER meta and can be stopped, but they're good in the right scenarios, which to me is a good enough place for Ruin in-general. The team doesn't really want to focus on Gen Regression combos and perks that much, especially a scenario like that... they will make more if the time is right, but they said it isn't something they want to just have immediately combo with 5 other anti-gen rush perks, that isn't what they're after if they make anymore of those perks.

Nope, to op for a "late" hex perk.
It's too OP in-general... that's why it doesn't work with Pop or Overcharge.
-
If you want to know what does work with New Ruin than Surveillance is the big one most people use, but Surge also works with New Ruin as well (Other perks might come to mind, but perks like Pop, Overcharge, perks that need you to kick Generators does not work with New Ruin no, it has to be a perk that doesn't require you to kick a Generator.)
You can also use Discordance to cover New Ruins blind spots, since it doesn't work on Generators that're being repaired but it does alert you to any Generators that're being gen-rushed by 2 or more people.

If a survivor is within the terror radius of her husk, they won't hear the phasing sound at all. From what I can tell, if they are outside the husk's terror radius, they will hear the phasing sound if they are within 24 metres of the Spirit herself. This is the same range as her base terror radius, but I don't believe it is affected by terror radius-related perks like Distressing or Monitor and Abuse.
No, I believe it works off of the base Terror Radius and that's it, Monitor & Abuse and Distressing won't really change the "whooshing" sounds range, it's primarily based on the base radius it has from what I could gather on that part.

I'm not sure what challenge you're specifically asking about anyways, I couldn't find a "Sacrifice 5 Survivors to The Entity" challenge on Tome ll, unless you're going through Tome l?
Is this the "Spilling Blood" Challenge on Tome ll or a challenge from the previous Tome? Are you even talking about a challenge or is this a daily?

So yer i think i may be looking at at least 5 hours a day to grind out them points. Thanks for that tho defo gonna need cheering on as i have a massive grind a head of me.
Well good luck than mate, i'm sure you'll be fine for the future.

If you are playing The Doctor then stop using these cosmetics until next patch;
Frame rate issues occur when combining The Doctor's Foul Bile and Auto-Lobotomy cosmetics.
Source: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/122133/
What platform are you playing on?
If it's PC try updating your Windows and graphics driver.
If it's console does it overheat? This game can cause that on multiple consoles. Try moving your console to more ventilated and/or open area, and feel if it's hot to touch.
Usually on Console The Doctor has a lot of issues with FPS in-general, but I believe the reworked fixed that issue so i'm not too sure at the moment.
I'll look more into that, but if I don't reply again on that than i'm not sure (or I forgot).

Pretty sure everyone would agree that Scalped Knot is the most useful one, often combined with Lion Fang.
Scalped Knot is one of his best add-ons to use yes, Akito's Crutch is also something you'd want to use on The Oni over something like Lions Fang, but Lions Fang is still a good alternative for a secondary perk.
Overall, Scalped Knot is a good budget add-on and it's a good add-on in-general for a a lot of speed and duration add-on combos.

HillBilly and Ghostface is probably my best bet then.
They're tbh, one is a Top-Tier Killer (Billy) and the other is a Mid-Tier Killer with a lot of potential (GhostFace).
So I don't see you having any issues with learning either or them, plus GhostFace can still be good even without meta perks that slow gen speed down... as for Billy, he doesn't need gen reduction speed perks, all he needs is tracking perks and he's good.
Something like BBQ & Chili on Billy or even Whispers is good for him when it comes to tracking, anything else like Pop Goes the Weasel or Enduring is good for him, plus Enduring is his perk so you don't need to look far for it.
-
Pretty straight forward, just focus on using perks like Davids We're Gonna Live Forever that Fibijean mentioned OR using perks like BBQ & Chili which is great for BP grinding and great for it's aura reading that most people use it for.
LeatherFaces perk is mostly what you'll want to get if you buy his DLC or get his perk on the Shrine of Secrets. The perk honestly helps with a lot of things on a lot of Killers, but most Killer just use it for the aura tracking and the benefit of having a pocket BPS (Bloody Party Streamers) in perk form.
If you're grinding for BPs than use a Killer like Legion, The Doctor is a good alternative but Legion is the best points grinder out of any Killer. Why? Because his power mostly focuses on damaging other Survivors with Feral Frenzy (which racks up a ton of Deviousness points) and you can just one shot insta-down Survivors if you Feral Frenzy chainstab them enough to think twice above healing.
He has the easiest potential for Deviousness points and Brutality points out of any Killer in the game, but The Doctor is a good alternative as well.
if you need a legion build than try this
I won't go into too much detail, but i'll list the perks that I use for The Legion below in Red Ranks. This build helps me out in-game to prevent gen-rushing and I can use it without Old Ruin!
[Here's a summary for the perks I use with a bit of a description for each]:
- BBQ & Chili [A LeatherFace perk] (This perks great for aura tracking as well as post-game point bonuses. This perk also helps me find more healthy or Injured Survivors to chain-stab!)
- Pop Goes the Weasel [A Clown perk] (This is a great meta perk and it's especially important for this Legion build. The perk itself is great for adding 25% regression penalties to any generators with progress on them, the perk activates when you down and hook a Survivor... and with this Legion build people just avoid healing in-general after awhile.)
- Thanatophobia [A Nurse perk] (Great perk for adding bonus regression penalties to repair speed and other action speeds. It also helps add a sort of "psychological effect" to players, since they'll heal more to prevent the penalties... but than that just makes way for the last perk in this build to take effect!)
- Nurse's Calling [A Nurse perk] (This perk is essential for the Thanatophobia combo, since players will heal themselves to prevent Thanatophobias debuffs AND you can see them healing within a 20/22/24 meter radius depending on the Tier this perk is in. Great for finding any healing Survivors and adding more chain-stabs/downs to the list.)
For add-ons just use something like Stolen Sketch Book + Mural Sketch for a big duration bonus to Feral Frenzy, that's the best add-ons you could use for this build. If you want to go crazy than use Stolen Sketch Book + Filthy Blade or Filthy Blade + Nasty Blade to add more time to the mend timer, making it take longer to mend and than heal.
Eventually because of this they'll just stop healing in-general.

It's Adept Oni achievement, they can not use other perks than Oni's.
Right, @Pumpkin_King you can only use his teachable perks when going for Adept Oni, if you meant as a means for practice than I suppose that could help him practice more with The Oni.
But he'd still have to use the teachable perks when the time comes, so he'll have to also get used to that as well.

They did change when Overwhelming Presence would activate in 3.4.0, since before it would just activate when you entered the Terror Radius of a Survivor... but now it activates when you're in the Terror Radius AND use an item in said Terror Radius.
Besides that though, the combo should still work, no signs really point to it not working together anymore. The only perk of the two that was changed was Overwhelming Presence, and that was just in response to the changes to perks like Unnerving Presence that only NOW work when a Survivor is doing a healing, repair, or sabotage action in the Killers Terror Radius, which before it just activated every time you got into the Killers Terror Radius.
It was changed to mostly prevent Survivors from knowing that the Killer has brought you into their Terror Radius, in a sense acting as a "visual warning" of sorts.
basically...
The only thing that was changed about these two perks was Overwhelming Presence not activating until you use an item, where as before the icon would be displayed every-time the Killer got close enough to put a Survivor in their Terror Radius.
This change was to prevent the icon in the hud from acting like a visual warning for Survivors that the Killer is nearby.
Franklin's is the same otherwise, and so is Overwhelming Presence, the only change was for when it activates and when it doesn't now, so they should still combo yes.

I can see how it's an issue for you yeah, like Fibijean said when a new map or map rework is made than that map is shown more often than others.
Sometimes it doesn't show up at all for the first few days though, so it's weird in how it works. And Badham makes up a fair bit of the map algorithm since so many versions of it exist. The thing is though, you'd still get other maps other than Lerys since Lerys is just one version of itself while there are like 5 and 4 versions of Cold-Wind Farms and Macmillan Estate.
But yeah, you'll see Lerys more often through map offerings or just in-general because of the algorithm at the moment, give it time and it'll go back to normal.

I used up all of my Bloody Gloves. And rank reset is going to take place on my holidays so I will have some advantage, I will try go get down to rank 9 at least so when it occurs I am gonna land on yellow ranks. I think I will also try to find more of these Gloves and Shrines of Seperarion after I will level up Myers. They work pretty well for me in the early game.
It's best you focus more on damage over downing when it comes to Adept Oni.
Since you can't use Anti-Gen rush perks, you'll have to focus more on damaging the Survivors to gain more points in Brutality as well as downing and hooking them to the fullest, so anyone that just suicides on hook early or too many early 2nd stage Survivors that go into the 2nd stage is a waste of points.
By that last part, I mean if they're not rescued and go into the 2nd stage early than it's a waste of points that you could've gotten by hooking them again for the 2nd time.
Since the gatekeeper emblem was reworked, it's kind of easier to level it up if you protect your generators for a lot longer. If you struggle with this though, than you'll have to just keep grinding for a match that has a more... "immersed" team to play against. Purple Rank (Rank 8) isn't bad to do this challenge, but if you really struggle with adepts than I suppose it's best to wait until rank reset, but I personally don't recommend it.
basically, this is what you'll need to do
The best thing you can do with The Oni is hit the Survivors as many times as you can normally, if you can injure them with a fully charged Yamaoka's Wrath than do it, otherwise just keep hitting them normally. Don't do this too much though, since you still need Deviousness points which is rewarded by insta-downing Survivors with Yamaoka's Wrath AND activating it as well.
Make sure you don't have anyone suicide on the hook or go into hook states too early, get every hook you can on every Survivor, if a Survivor isn't rescued and goes into the 2nd hook state than that's ok since you don't need to 100% get every Survivor hooked 3 times each... you can fail this 1 or 2 or even 3 times, if you get any hooks during the EGC than you'll also gain more points towards the hooking emblem.
Also, if it isn't obvious, don't let anyone escape... to get Adept Oni you need to kill everyone while also getting a near perfect game.

You didn't really do anything wrong in this scenario. If you were looking at GhostFace with your body facing him than he should've been broken out of NightShroud within a few seconds like normal.
Sometimes NightShroud can get kind of buggy and specific with how you break GhostFace out of it, in this case, if you were looking right at him WHILE your body was facing him than it should've broken him out of it.
Those add-ons just make it easier to put your into the exposed status effect or "mark you" and recover his power a lot faster. Chewed Pen recovers the power at a quicker rate and Night Vision Monocular Considerably reduces the Stalk time when not leaning from cover, so it's faster to stalk you while not leaning from cover than it is to lean from cover with this add-on.
this is the best advice that I can give
Try reporting this to the Bug-Report sub-forum under Killers and GhostFace so more reports about his detection range is reported.
Note, if your character was looking at GhostFace but not facing him than it's a lot more finicky with detecting him out of NightShroud, so if you didn't do this than that's the issue here. You just need to face his direction while looking at him to break him out of NightShroud, you can even do this while behind a tree or rock.

I'll just list each event item with their own description below, just so it clears up any confusion or future confusion. Only 5 event items for Survivors exist at this time, so only 5 will show up on this list below.
(Side-Note) All of these items are used by pressing the M2 button for PC or the equivalent to the M2 on console! Basically, the M2 is the button the allows you to heal yourself with a med-kit or use a flashlight for example.
- [Winter Party Starter] (By pressing M2 or the equivalent to M2 on console you can drop your Winter Party Starter and blind The Killer and any Survivors that're near and looking in the direction of it's explosion. The effects it gives off is similar to fireworks going off.)
- [Chinese Firecracker] (By pressing M2 or the equivalent to M2 on console you can drop your Winter Party Starter and blind The Killer and any Survivors that're near and looking in the direction of it's explosion. The effects it gives off is quite short in the sense of visuals, but that doesn't mean it's literally less effective than the other versions of this item.)
- [3rd Year Party Starter] (By pressing M2 or the equivalent to M2 on console you can drop your Winter Party Starter and blind The Killer and any Survivors that're near and looking in the direction of it's explosion. The effect this version gives off is similar to the Winter Party Starter except the colors that the fireworks give off is changed from blue and white to red and black.)
- [Will-O-Wisp Flashlight] (By pressing M2 and pointing your Flashlight at the Killers eyes, you can blind them for a set amount of time depending on the Flashlight you're using at the add-ons it has. The Will-O-Wisp Flashlight is just essentially a normal standard yellow Flashlight with a funny description about "Considerably increases friendly Ghosts in your life." as well as giving off an unnatural effect that displays a "spooky ghost" wherever you shine it, preferable on a wall to fully display this ghost. A reference picture will be displayed at the end for context.)
- [All Hallows' Eve Lunchbox] (Not much to say about a med-kit, when you hold M2 you heal yourself or others in the Injured state to the Healthy state. The description this med-kit has "Makes you considerably more visible." is actually not a joke unlike the Will-O-Wisp Flashlight, since it does actually make you more visible in the dark when a Killer is nearby and looking in your direction. Also, this med-kit is the equivalent to the regular First Aid Med-kit or the "Yellow Med-kit", but this med-kit just has a different look and description is all.)
reference videos & pictures for the event items
(Side-Note) The video used for most of these references is the same video that displays all these items in it, the Will-O-Wisp Flashlight is shown in this video but it wasn't used since the image is a lot easier to show as an example. Also, the video was kept in link form to keep from cluttering this comment with the same video 3 times.

As said above this concept is currently still being looked into by BHVR but it has no clear date yet.
We also don't know if it will be a thing, BHVR is indeed interested in the possibility of Cross-Play between all platforms but we don't know if Cross-Progression will come with it OR if Cross-Play will come at all anytime soon.
We'll see though, personally, i'd refrain from buying DLC on PC or anything like that until more information on this is brought to light. Feel free to of course, but that's up to you.
-
That date is currently unknown and I doubt anyone here is able to answer it since we're not devs for the mobile version of DBD.
You can try your luck with that link above, but if they can't tell you than there's nothing more we can do for you.

Sorry, i am still new to the game and it is one of the slowess compagny i have seen to fix anything. I still "kind of " enjoying it with a friend that keep playing because i have thiings to grind but .... Killer is just unplayable right now and it is what i like the most so i am stuck with stupid survivor with no challenge becaues ... same issue with the killer makes the game easy for survivors. No real challenge.
I understand how you feel, it's unfortunate that you can't play the side you want because of this issue. Just give it time, they're aware of the issue and they're looking into it now since it hasn't been this bad with queue times in awhile, I don't know if it's because of the Ruin change or what, but the queue times haven't been that good unfortunately.
I wouldn't worry about it though, give it time, i'm sure they're working on a fix to release as soon as they can.

Rank rework was schedule at the same time as the Map rework according to the road map, yet the rework is there but not hte ranking, an in personal ticket they have been saying that since November if not October... It would have been fixed by now if they really care. They just say that to hold on the customer as long as possible.
The Road Map is subject to change, schedules for things can always change when something comes up.
Also, the Rank Rework stretches all the way to Chapter 15 and after, so if everything is going well than we'll see results on this rework sooner than expected. Also, they said they know about the matchmaking issues but it's suspected that this should come with the Rank Rework... that's not anything official.
That's why I said "it should" if it did, but it might not and the matchmaking fix could be something entirely different from the Rank Rework that's scheduled to come. Also, they do care, if they didn't than they wouldn't have Dev Streams or even listen to feedback at all...

Theyt have been saying that for month, they really just don't care about it anymore, they let the game run, get out some content and skin to make moeny and just wait for the game to die and move on to soething else. Simple as that, they have to intention on fixing it
If they really wanted to run this game into the ground than they would've done a lot worse.
Give it time, change and fixes come with time. If people are impatient to said fixes than that's on them, but nothing gets done in a week...
-
Yes, they've said in their Dev Stream that they're aware of the matchmaking issue and will fix it at a later date. It should naturally be fixed when the Rank Rework is also being worked on.
So yes, they're aware of the issue and they're looking into a fix for it.

Right.
-
You can do the whole Survivor track and than switch to the Killer track to keep everything separate.
I doubt they'll do a level for a Tome that's entirely based on one side, since Killer mains wouldn't want to play as a Survivor all the time for that one level and vice versa.

Sorry for late reply. I think it may have been u that said to play killer. I wont play killer at all the reason for that is in one of the replys. I normally have on average no more than 3 hours a day on it as by the time i get home from work have my tea it 9pm and in bed for 12 so yer its about 3 hours i may get a push of 5 maybe 6 games a day and thats it i managed on last rift to get to level 35. I will see about spend maybe just and extra hour a day on and see how far that takes me i really want to finish a rift just takes alot of time. Thank you tho and everyone else for all of ur feed back its great to hear what other people think if they find it difficult or easy enough to complete
I don't remember saying anything about playing Killer specifically.
The main point I was trying to make that entire time was that it really depends on how much you do in one sitting to make it a "grind", since in my opinion these challenges are not insanely demanding unless you do them all in one day...
Also, of course you'll have a rough time with only 3 hours a day, The Rift is designed to last a long time so you have time to do everything. Trust me, you'll have time to eventually hit Tier 70 since you started around the time Tome ll started... it's only a grind because you have so little time to do it, if you had more than you could easily plan out what to do next each time and continue accordingly, but you don't, so you'll naturally have issues with what you can do at a certain time and that's it.
With literally 70 days to do Tome ll you'll have 100% enough time to finish it.

I think me and you very rarely argue. I know we have been in a lot of the same threads though.
It depends on who you're talking to yeah, I've argued with a lot of older forum members (nothing toxic) about things we didn't agree on. I didn't harass them and neither did they to me, but we just didn't agree on a subject.
Me and Fibijean have done it before too, so, it just depends on who you talk to and who you're as a person... and the subject too of course. Also, I say "argue" but it was mostly just opinions clashing and not agreeing with each other, so we usually just end it off as "Agree to disagree" when we know we both have said all we needed to say.
Some will just keep going forever... but that's how some people are.

Rank 4 from the northwest playing midday
That Region you gave is kind of vague (unless i'm dumb), so i'll just say America.
Anyways, Mid-Day on a Friday (When school should be over I believe) at Rank 4 should get you some decent queue times for Red Ranks yeah, I wouldn't say THAT LONG since for me it's been about 3 minutes or more, but it really does change I suppose.
Match-Making in-general is having issues for all of us, since I haven't really seen anyone say they haven't had issues with 3.5.0 (or around 3.5.0 almost being released), so it might be because of Match-Making having issues (which isn't a surprise) or not many Killers are playing at the moment, so if you're a Killer it's good but if you're a Survivor than it might be bad for queue times.

If you want similar perks like Old Ruin than you can try getting Corrupt Intervention or Huntresses Lullaby, both are unique from Old Ruin and boast a lot better results than Old Ruin in some cases. It's debated if they're better than Old Ruin, but it really just depends on how you use them.
Also, New Ruin can stack with perks like Surveillance and Surge to add a lot more to it, for example, New Ruin gives a 100/150/200% Regression penalty when someone stops working on a generator, since Surveillance gives a white aura to any damaged generators... it synergizes insanely well with New Ruin, since it adds a lot of New Ruins power.
And another perk that works great with New Ruin is Discordance, since it can cover the blind-spots that comes from New Ruin (which it doesn't work on Survivors that're repairing the generator, only when they stop repairing them). Why? Because Discordance can alert you when 2 or more Survivors are on one Generator at a time!
[Here's a video of New Ruin and Surveillance being combined]:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wzdIJLj-oEIt's from the PTB but it still functions the same in LIVE.
As for those perks I mentioned above, i'll list them below
Here's a list of those 6 perks with descriptions of how they work and what they're good for. I'll also be adding what they combo with and why they combo with those perks.
- Hex: Ruin [A Hag perk] (Whenever a Generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress its Repair progress at 100/150/200% of the normal Regression speed. In a sense, you can chase someone now and not worry about kicking the generator before or after, it's especially good when combined with Surveillance to know if a generator is still regressing or being worked on behind your back, if it is, than the aura will turn from white to yellow to indicate that someone is repairing it again.)
- Surveillance [A Pig perk] (All regressing Generators will be highlighted by a white Aura. Once regression ends, Generators will be highlighted by a yellow aura for 8/12/16 seconds. Noises created by Generator repairs are audible at an additional 8 meters. So, knowing this the generators will automatically be applied with this effect when combined with New Ruin, since New Ruin automatically damages any Generators that a Survivor gets off of, so you'll always know what's regressing and what's being worked on again with the white and yellow aura! This combo is pretty insane, so that's why it's considered the best tracking perk combo now.)
- Surge [A Demogorgon perk] (Putting a Survivor into the Dying State with a Basic Attack causes all Generators within a radius of 32 meters to instantly explode and regress. Surge applies an immediate Regression penalty of 8%. Surge can only be triggered once every 60/50/40 seconds. This is one of the few perks that also work with New Ruin, since it will add an immediate Regression penalty to any Generators that're within 32 meters of that Survivor you downed, so it does give a bonus to New Ruin as well!)
- Discordance [A Legion perk] (Any time two or more Survivors are working on the same Generator, that Generator's Aura is highlighted in yellow for 8/10/12 seconds. So, since New Ruin doesn't work on Generators that're being repaired on and only ones that stop being repaired with progress... this is supposed to be that fix to that issue. It won't work on Survivors that're working on Generators by themselves, but it'll work on Generators that're being "Gen Rushed" by 2 or more Survivors, since it'll alert you with the yellow Aura for a set amount of time depending on the perks Tier AND it'll give you an auditory and visual notification so you're aware that it's happening. It actually makes it easier to know where a Survivor team spawned since they'll probably all jump on that Generator that they spawned with together.)
These perks are debated to be better than old ruin
These are the alternatives you can use to Ruins rework, if you don't want to use New Ruins combos than you can use these as a substitute. I won't really add Thanatophobia since it's more of a Killer dependent perk, and by that I mean it depends on certain Killers to be good in most scenarios and not just niche ones.
- Corrupt Intervention [A Plague perk] (3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80/100/120 seconds at the start of the Trial. Survivors cannot repair the Generators for the duration of Corrupt Intervention is active. So, the perk itself entirely depends on how you use it at the start, but it's a lot better than Old Ruin for various reasons. For one, it isn't a Hex perk so it can't be stopped until the time is up, and two it stops immediate gen-rushing in-game and requires Survivors to go repair more "bunched up" Generators that're fairly close to each other. So, it allows you to monitor less generators at the start and get downs a lot quicker to use perks like Pop Goes the Weasel or Thanatophobia for example. In my opinion, it's a lot better than Old Ruin because Red Ranks just power through Old Ruin, while Corrupt Intervention can't be stopped until it's time is up.)
- Hex: Huntress Lullaby [A Huntress perk] (Survivors receive a 2/4/6% Regression penalty when missing any Skill Check. Each time a Survivor is hooked, Huntress Lullaby grows in power: 1 to 4 Tokens: Time between the Skill Check warning sound and the Skill Check becomes shorter. 5 Tokens: No Skill Check warning. So, the strength this Hex has relies on it lasting awhile, which Hex perks can and can't depending on how hidden they're in-game. But, if this perk reaches about 4-5 Tokens, than it's actually a lot stronger than Ruin, since the audio warning at 4 tokens will become so out of sync that it'll make you focus on staring at the spot it shows up, just so you don't fail it. If you get 5 Tokens, than the audio warning is removed and it just becomes a guessing game for when it shows up, this becomes a big issue when you have to stare at the spot it shows up WHILE the Killer is nearby, so they might change who they're going to chase and come to you while you're busy staring at the spot the Skill-Check shows up. It's a pretty dangerous perk if left alive, so that's why it can be considered better than Old Ruin if it Survives that long.)
- Pop Goes the Weasel [A Clown perk] (After hooking a Survivor, the next Generator you break is instantly regressed by 25% of its total progression. Normal Generator Regression applies after the damage is done. Pop Goes the Weasel is active for 40/50/60 seconds after the Survivor is hooked. So, alone it's a fairly good meta perk in the high rank, low rank, and mid rank metas. It's was mostly used with Old Ruin since that combo was pretty strong, but now it can be used with Corrupt Intervention for the most part or Huntresses Lullaby, so you have options to use it with a combo or alone in a build. Anyways, the perk is pretty strong and can diminish a lot of progress done on a Generator that was being Gen-Rushed for example, so it really is something you'll want to add into you build if you want to halt Generator Progress somewhat.)
conclusion
Hope this might help or clear up some questions you have for New Ruin combos and or alternatives to Ruin, now that it's changed.
Stay safe out there,
see you in the fog.

I've never been told, but I've been getting tired of the pointless arguments over someone not agreeing with anothers point of view.
Welcome to the forums! Opinions clash, so on and so forth. As long as people don't get nasty about it than it's fine to debate among each other.
Some people will disagree with each other and stand with their opinions, that's usually how some forum members act. Nobody wants to be wrong, I can't say I don't want to be wrong either with what I say. But sometimes, you'll be proven wrong and you'll just have to accept it... some will and others will not, it's how it is.

As @FireHazard stated, they are optional, And if I recall correctly (I might be wrong), you can reach the end of the archives without restriction, the only ones who are tied are the lore ones. David is already on the base game so that's a perk that you don't need to purchase
It depends on if you want the lore pieces or not, that's about it, some challenges do block the way to completing that level but they're mostly just Misc challenges that any Killer/Survivor can do.

Match-Making issues is why this is happening, BHVR has said that they're aware of this issue and that they're looking to overhaul the Ranking System to help out with the Match-Making issue, since both of those DO tie together.
BHVR even said this in their most recent Dev Stream, so they're aware of this and wanted us to know that they're.
At the moment though, the Match-Making is having issues with which ranks you pair with and how long the queue times are, but it could also have something to do with your region, rank, and time of day you're playing in.
May I ask, what's your Rank, Region (optional), and time of day you're in? For the part about the time of day, just say if it's late where you're or early, something like that.

I know how i can aquire them using in game currency but i shouldn't have to use my shards for something ill never use just to complete the tome for 100%. That's what im getting at.
I mean, the shards are not good for anything else tbh... except skins.
It isn't that big of a deal, plus they replenish as you just continue playing the game, so it's not like they're being wasted. I understand that it can seem like a pay-wall to make you buy the DLC to do these challenges, but that's why they're entirely optional and not mandatory.
The Archive in-general is an optional thing, it just rewards you for trying out different things and playing outside of the box in a sense.

I don't watch Twitch Streamers in-general, mainly because it's boring to me personally.
But, I did find a video about some tips and tricks from a fairly good Killer main [Otzdarva]. I'm going to be honest with you, if you want tips and tricks for how to learn a Killer than don't go on Twitch for it... i'd suggest watching youtube videos (aka guides) on it, as they're usually more into the idea of how to teach you rather than just raw game-play.
[Here's the video by the way]:

The design behind this was to use Killers/Survivors that you can unlock with in-game currency that YOU get while you play normally in-game.
These challenges do not block the completion of the level either, so they can be skipped till later to unlock at another time once you unlock these characters at another date. If it was Killers/Survivors that can only be purchased with Auric Cells and ONLY Auric Cells, than it would be seen as a "money grab". But, it's not, so you can always skip these challenges until you get the Iridescent shards (the free in-game currency you get by playing normally) and than using them to unlock those characters to complete those challenges.
It's entirely optional, so you're not forced to pay for them to complete the level if you don't want to, you just can't 100% that level until you unlock said characters to complete those challenges.
