Botany isn't effecting it right now tho sadly.

It should unless this was changed recently, otherwise it should and does since the time for the Syringe can be reduced with healing boost perks like Botany Knowledge, Spine-Chill, etc.

Try it again and see if the time is reduced or not from just counting it on your own, if it's less than 16 seconds than it's working.

Leader (unless you're planning to be healed by other players frequently) is not worth running ever since its numbers were increased to 15/20/25% from 3/6/9% and stopped applying to generator speed.

I personally think healing is a more scenario based thing, so it can be used to benefit from a non-self healing build...

But than you can argue that a Med-Kit or Self-Care is infinitely better since it doesn't take time from Generator repairs and can be boosted with Botany Knowledge, but than again you'd need 2 slots to boost it with Botany Knowledge so i'm mostly talking about just Self-Care itself.

All in all Leader isn't bad if you naturally rely on others to heal you, but there is a lot of scenarios where this can't be done and personally I believe having a Self-Heal perk is a better option overall. But when you do have people to heal you it's indeed better yes... but only for having one person healing you since 2 people healing you is fast enough on it's own.

All lunges are exactly the same

    Except Tier lll Myers...

Otherwise yes. Arguable Myer's power needs to be used for this to happen, but Myers himself is a unique exception to the lunge mechanic, since you could also argue that Myers default Tier l is how he starts of, which he does, so technically speaking Tier lll and Tier l are subjected to either their own class or they're the exception to the lunge mechanic itself.

As for the most part for EVERY OTHER KILLER it's the same yes.

Oh yeah, of course, I acknowledged as much in my first comment. But there's a difference between something being chance-based, which I assume is what you mean by RNG, and being completely random, which it isn't because there is one factor that affects it. That's the distinction I was making.

Yes, I know you said that before, i'm just saying that I doubt the gradual coincidence of a perk showing up 3 times in a row has anything to do with the Blood-Webs randomization itself, hence why I disagree that it's something that affects the system itself because it's so inconsistent.

Yes a perk like WGLF can show up 3 times in a row back to back in a Blood-Web, but it can also never show up again until Level 50+, which has happened before as well in the past. So I disagree that it has a higher chance to show up and instead just regard it as being a coincidence or "luck."

Again I could be wrong, but I personally don't see it being the case since it CAN show up more often or it will take a long time to re-appear again. Perhaps if it's for the Prestiged versions than yeah, otherwise I personally don't see it being the case for P0 or even P1 somewhat. But that's just me, whether this is the case or not is too inconsistent from my view.

i run bbq for the snipes im tryin to learn hatchet arc, distance that kinda stuff thanks for the perks i think il run pop cause if i can consistently down then i should be fine for now

Personally i'd suggest using perks like Iron Maiden as well for those fast hatchet Reloads and Nurse's Calling for a 28 Meter Hatchet Snipe, it really does make it easier to find Survivors that're injured around the area for more downing potential.

Thanatophobia isn't bad to pair with Nurse's as well for more healing, but I personally wouldn't use it on anyone besides Legion and Plague, since their powers synergize with the perk in the best way possible.

Also use Corrupt as I said before to just weed out any Survivors that try to sneak up to the 4 active Generators that're not blocked by the perk. There isn't much room to stick Surveillance in with Ruin if you decide to use Ruin, since BBQ & Chili would take up the 3rd slot, but if you decide to not use Iron Maiden or Nurse's than i'd use Surveillance as the last slot IF you use New Ruin.

Killer music, terror radii, and lullabies are non-directional. Huntress' lullaby (not the perk) used to be directional due to the danger of her long range, but the developers decided to remove that aspect of her. (I've hated playing against Huntresses on most maps ever since then because of how I cannot discern between 40 meter lullaby and 21 meter lullaby. Perhaps it is my headphones, however, I am unsure.)

I think that's just your Headphones as well and not the game itself.

Some Killer sounds are currently buggy as well like The Spirits "Woosh" sound and other such things, players also claim that this is the case for Survivors as well but I personally haven't seen any issues in-game related to sound bugs.

Getting the first or second tier of the perk doesn't increase the chances of getting a higher tier of that same perk in a later bloodweb. The only thing that affects the chances of a particular perk spawning is its rarity. I'm getting this from the wiki, which I have never before found to have inaccurate or outdated information.

Still, it's entirely RNG based no matter how you look at it, it might gain a higher chance of being seen because of it's rarity and what not, but it's all RNG based at the core.

There's nothing that's a for sure thing in the Blood-Web, that's what it's designed to be, a randomized prize pool in a sense.

  • @FilledPizza

here's the link to the most recent survey

This survey is the most recent survey that's open for players. This survey focuses on the Maps in-game, it's randomization, and other such things related to said maps. This is the current survey that's open at this time called the "Map Gameplay Survey." I'll link it below for you since the link you're trying to click in-game seems to not work for some reason.

[Here's the Map Gameplay Survey link]:

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GQ5MZRN

  • @Fibijean said:

It's not completely random - common perks, like WGLF tier I, will appear more often than rare perks (like say, DS tier I) at lower bloodweb levels. However, WGLF is no more likely to appear than another common perk, like Resilience. And a higher chance doesn't guarantee success, so it's still possible not to find even common perks in your bloodwebs just due to bad luck.

I think that's more-so with how the Blood-Web reacts to previous perks being bought with BPs, it recognizes that you grabbed a perk like WGLF and than has a higher chance to appear again in the next Blood-Web after, but again, it's entirely random on if it does appear again or not, it just seems to have a higher chance to because you grabbed a perk in a previous Blood-Web.

But whether that's actually true or if it's luck is entirely unknown as far as I've seen about the Blood-Web, I say it's unknown because you could very much get WGLF in three Blood-Webs in a row or never see it again until level 50, hence why I doubt that a higher chance is there and more-so it being RNG based.

  • @JaviDonatelli

Personally i'd hope they return a more intimate style event like before with the Moonrise and Hallowed Blight events, but as said they're moving past those events and trying out a new style of events that're integrated into The Archives.

Not every Tome will house an event, it just so happens that the first two were released during two of the most anticipated events of the year, so I doubt we'll see anything event-wise until the next Halloween and Lunar New Year, unfortunately they didn't do a Christmas event this year but did keep the theme around it somewhat, hopefully in the future there will be something like that for the Christmas in 2020.

  • @MegMain98 said:

Neither. M&A is absolutely terrible on Spirit. She’s not meant for sneaking up on survivors. Usually you’ll use your power for downing survivors, not making a beeline for them. M&A just makes it so they’ll be able to hear you whooshing from an even closer distance. No point in using M&A.

Distressing isn’t great either. I would only use it on Doctor. There are much better perks for Spirit.

Overall I’d say Distressing is better but I still wouldn’t use it.

I think any Terror Radius altering perks isn't a good fit for the Spirit in-general because of how her power works and how the "wooshing" radius and Terror Radius intertwine with each other.

Basically, it's better to use that slot for something like Stridor or STBFL to benefit from The Spirits power, rather than adding something that isn't necessary, at least in my opinion.

Thank you so much. It just seemed weird cause i was the only one it seemed and plus it ONLY happens when I play Doctor

Yeah, Doctor used to give that FPS issue before his rework but I believe some people still have issues with him despite the change, it just made it a lot better for people who did have this issue while some still do unfortunately.

Like I said though, you can contact support and see what they say on the matter. Also, no problem i'm glad I could help you out.

As Boosted_Dwight has said, please report these players through the in-game report system and THAN file a support ticket, don't just file a support ticket without an in-game report as there isn't much the Support Team can do if you don't make an in-game report before hand.

Also it's crucial you provide Video and or Screenshot evidence when reporting these players, this will assist the Support Team with their investigation and it's mandatory to do so.

[Here's the link to the Support Team again for context]:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

    again for context

You need an in-game report and Video evidence as well as optional screenshots before you file a support ticket to the support team, if you have neither or you're missing one of the two than the Support Team is unlikely to be able to assist you in this issue.

  • @The_Reneth

I believe some have mentioned that if you play for long periods of time on console than you console itself will overheat and your frame-rate will suffer as a result.

Doctor used to be very taxing on FPS for Console, but now people have reported less FPS drops since the new update. If you're experiencing this than your Xbox is either old, overheating, or the game itself is just not optimized for you for some reason?

Perhaps it's your settings that could be causing this, if you're playing on Ultra or High on console than that's obviously going to do a number on your FPS when playing any Killer, especially Doctor.

    as for a solution

Personally, I don't have one, but I can direct you to the Support Team who would be more than happy to sort your issue out in the most direct way possible. Just submit a ticket and give them some detail on what happens when your FPS drops, why this could be happening (in your own opinion), etc.

Ah okay, yep I understand now. I often find that the lore can get confusing just because it's difficult at a glance to tell the difference between what was actually revealed in the game and what's just some random player's headcanon.

In a sense yeah, it seems to be a more common occurrence than it should be, I think it has something to do with how it's written and how long the lore is in-general.

  • @WRussoW said:

Stridor makes sounds TOO loud. Yes, you'll find survivors easier but you'll have much harder time tracking them correctly and downing them as well.

"Oh, this Claudette must be close! Let me just get this bi-.. What do you mean she's in another jungle gym?"

I've never had issues with detecting where their breathing or "Moans of pain" are coming from personally, it's all up to how the player detects these sounds tbh, so others have an easier time finding Survivors while some don't.

  • @Oicimau said:

Stridor... never thought of that for Spirit before. Nice tips.

Fairly solid perk for detecting Survivors in and out of phasing yeah.

I mean it's entirely up to you, but I think the Bouncer beards dark tone can help hide your face a bit more than the Ready to Roll slick back hair, but that's just me.

The Fortuitous Jeans (Dark Brown) is good to use as well, anything brown, grey, or black that can blend into the dark background of any map will do fine.

  • @Matheuscrow

Your best option is to just slog through your Blood-Webs and grab any perks to get them out of the pool. After that, like Kagari said it's all RNG from 1 to 50, so you could either take 50 levels or more to get it or you could (if you're extremely lucky) get it in the first level.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

Like they said, just really bad luck. It took me like 30 bloodwebs after reaching 50 before I finally got a fragrant tuft of hair on myers. Also took me a few levels past 50 before I finally got a scratched mirror. Meanwhile on doctor, I have like 40 ebonys and like 30 Iridescent kings because I get one every level.

Sometimes the game just be like that with its shenanigans.

The RNG is either punishing or plentiful yeah, I wish prestiging did more with the RNG but sadly it doesn't.

I mean yeah, but Distressing always had that issue, at least now someone uses it to benefit their power.

  • @Zeidoktor said:

Yeah, outside of the Doctor or used with perks like Unnerving Presence, the primary reason to use Distressing is point farming.

Not entirely, you can thank Static Blast for giving Distressing another use, since having Distressing increases the range of The Doctors Static Blast.

Also, people claim Dark Devotion also causes a Static Blast to come out of the Obsession when previously hit, so Static Blasts implementation really did make a lot more perks useful on The Doctor.

  • @Oicimau said:

I just remembered something ive read about the next RE game. It will be a "dbd" style game: survivors against killer, pvp only.

Yeah, dbd created an entire style of game, and looks like that RE owners rather to make their own pvp survival terror than let dbd get their killers or survivors.

So, for now, i think RE is not a viable option in DBD.

And i think its a bad move from RE developers, as much as Jasons game was. Keep it simple. Keep it as it works. Dbd works. Its not like FPS games that have an easy formula to copy and just change graphics and storyline. Dbd has a complex game dynamics and too much variables. BHVR has an unique "know how" after 4 years. Other pvp survival terrors, tho, try to invent too much to be different from dbd, turning then into failed games.

I mean that's essentially what it boils down to, I feel it's because of the dedicated fan-base and constant stream of content that makes DBD stand above the rest.

This is where most "clones" fail, they try to be too innovative and it just doesn't click with people like DBD has. I'm not sure why others try to copy this idea, if they want to join in on it than they should pitch their idea to DBD, it would be welcomed with open arms and DBD would gain more content as a result.

It's been a long time (in game years) that DBD has been up and running, and I do appreciate the Devs interest and drive to really keep this game going for as long as it stays alive. I don't see it slowing down anytime soon as well, so that's good to know.

  • @Engels962

RNG, that's basically what it boils down to.

You could get 20 Ebony Memento Mori's in a row but not get a single Chewed Pen in your Blood-web, Prestige levels claim they boost you RNG chances of getting rarer add-ons and perks, but people have done research on that and concluded that the benefit is quite small unfortunately.

In a sense, if your RNG is good than you'll get all the perks, add-ons, and offerings you're looking for. If it's bad, than you'll have a harder time finding those perks, add-ons and offerings.

  • @inbiergebaden

You do the same thing you did here in the General Discussions forum. Click on the bright red box that says "New Discussion" and than pick " New Discussion" and not "Ask a question" in the tab that comes out, if you just click the box itself than it'll create a Discussion by default. The only difference between the two is that you can accept answers from commentors when you click "Ask a question" while "New Discussion" just makes a normal discussion.

Some other sub-forums might have different options like "Create a Poll" and etc, but that's strictly towards that sub-forum and separated from other sub-forums that don't use polls for example, like this one, this sub-forum is mostly for questions while the "General Discussions" sub-forum under the tab "Discussions" is where most of the conversations happen on The DBD Forums.

That's basically it, it's pretty much the same thing you did here but in the General Discussions sub-forum. If you need more info on how to post, quote people, etc, than click the link below to the forums guide.

    here's a better explanation below

@FireHazard ok one last thing, Im thinking the dark red hat would be best for the hat to go with the high roller - money maker jacket, since its closer to color to said jacket. What do you think?

Same for the pants, im thinking dark red, let me know what you think. Itll be more uniform in color so it should do pretty well.

Unless you're going for style than the hat isn't needed, if he has a slick back hair style it's less likely to see in the dark because he's not wearing a clashing color to the deep purple of his bathrobe or whatever he's wearing.

Personally, if you just wear nothing on your head than it's a lot better for your stealth. Also, the Dark Floral Trousers are a lot easier to see than you think, i'd go with the Fortuitous Jeans (Charcoal) personally. If you can't resist using anything other than the Ready to Roll head than try using the Bouncer Beard, I personally think that's better for stealth.

  • @Majestic_Pariah

I also think they just mean "Flute" and not "Flue", but I also think that this is utter non-sense they're talking about...

Like, what does "Now you play the flue" have to do with what you did during his sacrifice? My guess is he was trying to say "Now you play the fool" implying that what you did was stupid.

I get where you're coming from, leaked stuff is extremely 50/50. I personally want to believe it... mainly because I'm all in on a RE chapter at this point and yes, I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment. xD

Why RE2 though, I truly think IF we are getting something Resident Evil, then it'll probably be RE3. Simply to help both companies out more. DBD players would try out PR more and of course, DBD would see a HUGE boost in players probably equal or slightly less than Stranger Things. Also, I get you could say PR would be competition but I personally don't see it. Yes they're asymmetrical games but the actual gameplay various incredibly.

I also don't understand why people believe it's going to be RE related because of that leak, a "Wall Breaker" power implies many things and the wording itself could easily mean something else.

In a sense, I doubt because Mr. X periodically does that... means it's going to be RE related and that's just more so from the hopes of the RE fans such as yourself. While it would be cool and i'm all for it, i'm just in doubt that it's the case. If they somehow acquired the license for RE and it does turn out to be RE related than i'm all for it.

Again though, I doubt this because Capcom usually has issues when giving out their license to others, but I think every game company is like that at this point. (This last part could be wrong and they're extremely generous with their license, but it usually comes with their expectations as well... which is another issue)

We know that Renjiro was a great warrior, it's all in the lore for the Yamaoka Estate realm.

The estate was bought by the first of the Yamaoka, a shipwreck survivor, who came from a distant ashy island. He washed ashore just as political tensions sparked the flames of war.

Yamaoka joined the battlefield and unleashed hell on his foes. No one could match the raw fury of his Katana, which elevated him to a legend. They say his devilish mask haunted the dreams of all men.

His fame grew as he spilled blood on both sides of the conflict. With power came wealth, which he used to buy the estate and begin his legacy.

I also can't find anything in the Oni's lore that says Kazan was the first samurai, so as far as I can tell there's no contradiction there.

I think it's not in the lore itself but with how people read the lore and came to that assumption.

Which is why I argued against it, because people believe that, due to how the lore is written, that The First Yamaoka implies that Kazan has that title, when in fact he doesn't. So in a sense, I got confused while writing up my argument because a lot of people think the lore implied Kazan was The First Yamaoka when, if you read closer, it doesn't.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124691/i-keep-getting-rank-7-and-6-killers-and-survivors-when-im-rank-15

Ive noticed that those rank 1-8 survivors are quite more easy to play against then with the old matchmaking. My rank actually has no influence at all, but i think the new matchmaking is somehow working fine.

As killer, i get good survivors, but im not owned. As survivor, i get good killers, but im not owned. Matches look like more even now. And that, imo, shows that rank doesnt matter, and that the new matchmaking is more accurate when comparing players skills.

I'd argue against that, since the ranking system was a lot easier to get into than before. So for example, Rank 10s in the current rank could easily get into Red Ranks and inflate the match-making there with more numbers... but you'd more commonly get "Potato Survivors".

In a sense, the match-making improved this when it was updated, but the rainbow rank issue that causes Grey Ranks, Yellow Ranks, and Green Ranks to be paired with Red Rank Killers is kind of what makes it fall back into that "Potato Survivor" mentality, its not their fault that they're being paired with Killers that're far above the normal skill bracket they're supposed to get...

Also no, the matchmaking should never be a measurement of skill, when the new matchmaking comes out THAN you can measure your skill through that, since it'll literally work off of your skill-set and pair you with equally skilled Survivors to face and vice versa for Killers to face.

  • Also the whole "Splintered Hull" description above kind of makes it seem that that's the case.

    So... yeah.

Understandable, I think the issue is resolved anyways so I doubt you'll hear it happen again.

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

For licensed content quite a few people are thinking we might get a Resident Evil chapter next with Nemesis leading the charge. Mainly because of the "wall breaker" leak and some possible(strong emphasis on possible) hints from the devs on our next killer "not caring for loops" and having a splash damage ability that could down multiple people and can "even down people in other games". That's all complete tinfoil hat speculation though.

That's mostly going off of leaked info which is inter-changeable and might I add NOT official at all. Not to be that guy, but I personally hate when conversations go off of leaked information, mainly because it's, like I said, not official news that BHVR gave out themselves and shouldn't automatically be treated as such despite it being said through speculation.

Again, unless they got the license for RE2 than I doubt this would happen. As for the "Wall breaker" speculation I also doubt it's what people think it is. But again, leaked info... so... not really going to continue mentioning it since it isn't something BHVR said themselves.

We may not even get either because of licensing issues.

  • @Oicimau said:

Yeah, hes more extra-dimensional than alien. Maybe if they bring a xenomorph (if i got the meaning of this word right), they will maybe try the Predator or the Alien. Cause, for instance, Stranger Things is more a sci-fi than a terror series... actually, its not a terror series. So, Predator and Alien are fit for the job. :) imo

Right, Demogorgon fits more as an "Inter-Dimensional being" than an Alien, since an alien can be defined as an extraterrestrial which literally means "of or from outside the earth or its atmosphere."

So in a sense, The Demogorgon doesn't fit as an Alien from a lore stand-point and a literal stand-point. So yes, The Predator or The Xenomorph would fit as an Alien type Killer.

  • @Oicimau said:

Reading the lore, looks like Kazan is the first great samurai, but he is son of another Yamaoka, wich is his father.

It's either an error or Renjiro isn't technically a Samurai, yet he's seen battling Kazan and literally throwing the match after he also lands the killing blow on his son.

In a sense, I think the lore misses that part for some reasons, or maybe the legend didn't really start with Renjiro (Which it didn't) and instead began with Kazan due to his legend of being seen as an Oni in battle.

But again, this is also put into question since Rin even mentions in her new lore pieces that she hoped to be as great of a warrior like Renjiro and Kazan, implying Renjiro has a legacy of his own. (These lore pieces are from her "Steeped in Blood" Archive pages for Tome ll Level 1 and 2)

Also, you could say that Renjiro was mentioned because he's Kazans father, but she literally mentions him as a "great warrior", so it's hard to say he doesn't have a legend if she also refers to him as a great warrior as well. I mean, Renjiro literally almost killed Kazan, quite easily I might add, but he held back because Kazan is literally his son... so in the end Renjiro lost because he showed mercy for his own son who didn't even know it was his father under that suit of armor, not until the end of the fight anyways.

In a sense, It's hard to say if this was an error by BHVR or it has another meaning behind it.

well you wouldn't want to hit 14 cos then you'll get rank 4, 5 and 6, like moi. i'm on ps4 too.

devs are trying to get new people play as killer, how does this work?

edit: sorry you play as a survivor i thought you meant killer

It's entirely random who you get, there is no set ranks you get if nobody in your rank is in the matchmaking queue at that time.

People at Grey Ranks can get Rank 1s as their Killers, and I literally have screenshots showing that for the multiple games I had last night, some were SWFs but most weren't.

Normally it's red and purple rank survivors with yellow rank killers, so this definitely an odd one.

I personally get the opposite as a Rank 1 Killer main and rarely get Yellow Rank/Green Rank Killers for my Rank 1 Survivor.

It honestly depends on the Time of Day too, since during normal hours from morning to afternoon it's somewhat normal, than like late last night I got 7 matches in a row (not exaggerating) where I kept getting Greys, Yellows, and even double Greys and Yellows Survivors...

I screencapped most of the Post-Games, but I left some out since some of those actually did say they were in a SWFs, but most of them weren't...

Ash will lines like this when stuck waiting for a game. One of his most common is "Are we gonna be here all day?"

He has many common lines, that's one of those lines.

Ok well I will just go at my own pace then. I definitelty won't buy another rift pass.

Personally, I buy it just so I don't bother forgetting later on.

Of course if i'm putting a lot of time to level up in a Tier system... you'd think i'd remember to unlock the Premium Pass after I hit Tier 70 right? Well, it hasn't happened to me yet but life is unpredictable and you can sometimes forget if say... something important comes up or you just forget to do it.

  • That's kind of why I said "He's "The First Yamaoka" despite being the son of his Father who's debatable "The First Yamaoka"." implying that it doesn't make sense to label the son of the Father who bares Kazans name.

So technically speaking, Renjiro is The First Yamaoka.

The devs said in a Q&A that he is Rin’s great-great-great-great-great grandfather.

At least it's confirmed, so that's good.

I'd like to ask for the Q&A they said this in, but it's not necessary if you don't feel like getting it.

    A Xenomorph. <3

I personally wouldn't mind an Alien Killer.

I guess Demogorgon is supposed to be "Alien" but he's more inter-dimensional than an Alien.

Dude i decided to give a try as a survivor game before stopping.. rank 10 got a killer rank 2.

Play killer rank 11 got 1-1-2-4

Play Survivor rank 10-9-11-15 gotr a killer rank 2.

i Don't call it a problem, the game is just Broken that its, if its a bug then survivor should get lower killer all the time, like i should have get 15 or so, as a rank 2 he should get rank 1 only for that same bug, Therefor wait forever to get a match because of the same issue. There is no point on arguing here.

Any game i played in the last 20 yeaars push some patch to at least ease the problem with their customers. There have been nothing other than post and promess that never comes. Instead... lets change Ruin and Doc.... i mean ######### is wrong in their head lol Start by making your game works, and then update with content lol

    Its just proving my points.

On this, have a good night and a good game if you still like playing this #########.

Well good luck to you where ever you go to next.

You can always come back if you change your mind, but it seems you're not interested in changing your mind unfortunately. As a last thing to say before you delete your account, I wish you the best of luck.

Im out, 5 games in a row, just red ranks, i had enough and BHVR is way too slow, i am moving to another game. I have been waiting for this fix Since last November, i have made so many Ticket about it. That compagny really don't care about fixing the game. They let it die slowly, showing some hope of fixes so they don't lose that much players.

I had enough, Thanks FireHazard for the answers on multiple post.

    Ciao

You're always welcome to come back if you change your mind.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but change takes time and not everything can be fixed within a few months, we still have many issues like the match-making one that interfered with a lot of the plans that were being made in the road-map, since it's now the ranking systems turn it too will be overhauled to help with the Quality Of Life in DBD as a whole.

It'll be fixed rest assured, but it won't be fixed right away unfortunately.
