community: "stop cherrypicking the questions!"
devs: *picks the questions people upvote, despite the fact they already know the devs cant speak on them*
the community: "omg cherrypick the questions so you can answer them already"
Its not like they gave better answers in the older Q&A where they cherrypicked questions LMFAO

Not many. I didn't play much. Calling 50% more BP's an 'event' in a game this grindy is more of an insult than anything else.

You have exatly no point to proof your theory.
Actually there is a rather obvious point to proof this theory: go check the steam number of players before and after the RE chapter release last year. The only reason WHY DBD is so successful is the huge amount of licenses and the new players those bring in with them.
I won't disagree with the game could really use more QOL changes and improvements than actual content ones but lets be real: the chapters, especially the licensed ones is where DBD gets its players/money from. So they won't ever stop doing them.
-
I did play about 7 games today as survivor. The first 3 in solo queue. 1st game was a killer with 1 yellow perk who probably just got the game. My team stomped the poor guy and game was over with everyone getting out with like 15k points. The next 2 games were against a sweatlord Blight and right after a sweatlord Nurse. Blight was running Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, BBQ with a really beneficial Ruin spawn for him so he could just defend it while still being able to apply pressure to the gens. The Nurse was running Starstruck, BBQ, Pop, Tinkerer. Both games ending in like 2 minutes with everyone dead. That was when I wanted to quit playing but my friend wanted to join me so I was like "whatever"
EVERY.SINGLE.GAME was HORRIBLE. Every game someone got either tunneled or face camped at 4-5 gens let. I know "just do gens" but boi, I am not playing DBD to play "hold m1 simulator". Every game I either did hold m1 the whole match long or I was the chosen one who got chased for 3+ gens just to end up getting face camped afterwards and die while my team escapes.
I just gave up and logged to play something else.I would have played killer but I did grind my way to Iri1 just before the rank reset hit and it kinda broke my will to touch killer for a while.
tl;dr thanks god the event is only 50% more bps. It's really not worth worrying about missing out on something lol
-
What I like about him: nothing
What I don't like: everything else
For all I do care they could just completely remove the whole character instead of just the earnable masks. Legit every single Bubba I encounters lately face camps sooner or later in the trial.

I honestly don't think they gonna change pip system anytime soon because they are using kills/escapes as the metric for MMR. Pip system has always been a bit weird, for example, if you down people with chainsaw as billy, you don't get a lot of "chase" points. So you had to go for m1s if you want to do adept with billy or bubba because it is pretty much impossible to get iri chase using chainsaw, so dumb XD.
Ur a doc main?
Yeah, I main Doc. My problem isn't downing people. My problem is gen pressure cause when I hook someone and go to pop a gen which I know is gonna be done soon, 95% of the time the gen is done before I even get there. Pain Resonance also doesn't help much. Ruin/Undying is basically just playing with 2 perks after the first 1 minute cause that's how fast they are done.
Been playing wth Corrupt and Lethal combo yesterday for a while and the amount of time my survivors didn't even spawn CLOSE to the corrupted gens was mind boggling...
-
He is good on short wall loops and in the open and as others said he is a really good camper. The problem map rng and if a suvivor has some distance to you and makes it to a high wall loop or shack, you are basically forced to completely drop the chase cause its gonne be nearly impossible to down them in a decent amount of time.
-
@KrampusJumpscare said:
Its not hard, if you're getting 3 or 4ks you should be pipping unless you're 1 hooking every1
I am talking about pipping in iri ranks. The other ones are fine but to pip in iri you need to basically 3-hook at least 3 survivors and have more than 1 gen remaining. Which simply isn't possible to do on a reliable rate with killers like Doc (all non mobile killers). Ofc you pip once in a while but then the next 5 games its either black pips or a depip cause once got matches with a SWAT squad so your pips are back to square zero.

All they have to do is add voice comms, completely with mute options.
Now, SoloQs have the same exact power SWFs have, and BHVR can balance around that instead of this half-arsed 'Can't be too strong or SoloQ suffer!' that makes it so Killers beat SoloQs but SWFs beat Killers.
I rather not have some 12yo kiddo scream into my ears or some guy crunching chips while playing. Why suggest adding voice chat if most ppl would mute it? The HUD change is the only decent way to buff soloq.

Things can change. They are looking at ways to help with camping. Will be interesting to see what they do.
The only form of "'camping' they should look into is Bubba camping. Every other killer camping is fine and can (more or less easily) be outplayed even by 4 soloq survivors, if they have just the SLIGHTEST clue at how to play the game.
-
My team and me got rolled by a Spirit yesterday on Suffocation Pit, given she was running 2 of her best addons (Furin and Dried Cherry Blossom). Since the rework she "suffers" the same problem as most killers - of being heavily addon dependant to actually do good.
-
If they were going to change Boon totems, they would have listed those together wth the other perk changes in the 'Dev Update' post.
-
None of the big steamers is permanently gonna leave DBD as long as their viewers want to watch them play the game. They try another game, see their viewers drop and they will be back to DBD cause thats where their money comes from.
So they either end up like Edgar or FunGoose. Edgar is still steaming DBD cause he has to since as soon as he tries to play another game his viewers drop from ~600 to less than 200. Meanwhile FunGoose went from ~1k viewers to about 30 cause he really stopped playing DBD and went to stream a game that already has a ######### ton of popular streamers.

Same boring as going against 4 stacks of SWF all day who bodyblock hooks and take hits for eachother so the killer doesn't get a single hook.

LMAO glad I could help @MrGolden32467
-
You can just heal yourself for this challenge, it does count as well.
-
But I bet you didn't complain about the prior matches where you 4k'd...
-
That would be Doctor for me. I can play him with basically whatever build and feel confident but then I don't tryhard for the 4k but always try to go for 12 hooks. I hate getting tunneled as survivor so I try to refrain from doing so myself while playing killer.
If I woud tryhard, I could probably 4k most matches with him.

@JohnWeak said:

Do you camp/tunnel ?
At what MMR are you playing ?
I play both sides aswell and did a post with my stats on 16 games in a row at high MMR as a soloQ survivor :
Personal escape rate = 75%
Average # of hooks the killers did = 3,8
Hook rate = 32%
Average # of kills = 1,3
Kill rate = 33%
We are far from 2k average and far from a balanced game when the average # of hooks per game is 3,8 lol.
So you should "git gud" as you say and go play killer at high MMR :). You clearly have no idea of what it is.
"What MMR are you playing?"
How is ANYONE (including you) able to tell what MMR they have when its hidden (and probably non-existant anyways)
If I play duo or full SWF we ascape like 90% of our matches. Yet when I solo queue I still get matches with people who don't even know what a gen or a pallet is and how to use those.
MMR is a lie, prove me wrong.
Fact is when I play killer I always go for 12 hooks. No tunneling, camping (proxy) only when I know someone is near the hook right after I hooked someone (saw them or see their scratchmarks)

The best change would be one hit down and removing Iron Will.
Staying injured would grant the killer extra information with noise you do, that would be the only downside of staying injured.
And with the good loopers around and so many pallets/windows, one hit down would not be too much i guess, reducing chases from 1min30 to 40 seconds.
Also, injure hits could be done when you take hit around a hooked survivor. For protection hits, you would need to use a medkit with a Skyptic agent.
Why not make them all spawn on hooks already with a 4% chance to unhook themselves in order to actually play the game?
Srsly some people need to 'git gut'. The game is way more balanced than back in 2016. I play both sides (around 60/40) and have a variety of P3 killers wth all perks. I mix up my builds and don't only run meta..Yes, holding 'w' and pre dropping pallets is annoying but most of my games I still 2k, which according to the devs is the balance they want. The only change they should make is hooks counting more than kills. Getting a 4k is easy but going for 12 hooks is not. They should increase the points you get for hooks and make the actual kill effect pipping less.
I agree some map sizes should be looked into but killers for sure don't need a 1 shot mechanic to be able to "win".
-
It doesn't matter how good you are if your teammates are actual potatoes. You are good at looping? Too bad your team mates still won't do gens. Instead they will DC/suicide asap as they get downed/hit once. Best tip I can give you is get a full SWF.
-
Spirit got hit hard but not by the nerfs to her kit but by the new survivor perk called Shadowstep. It basically renders her power completely useless.
-
@Wedeguy said:
Wait until you reach the 4 man swf medkit console warriors who will finish the game in 3 minutes while having styptic agents in their midkits and all can loop.
I wished the survivors I face would loop me but all they do is start running and hold 'W' as soon as they hear my terror radius or their Spine Chill lights up. Yesterday I played about 5 killer games out of all of those I had ONE survivor who was really good at looping and didn't just hold 'W' and pre dropped very pallet he could find. I gave him hatch in the end.
I want to do some crazy mind games or get mind gamed by skilled survivors not just follow the character running on the horizon for a 1+ minute game of "who is better at holding 'W'" while the other 3 survivors hold m1 on gens...
-
Ok I am usually not one to complain BUT this is super unfair for people who NOT get affected by this bug! I am iri 1 on both ranks and mine didn't reset. Quiet a few friends of mine who were also iri 1 on both ranks got 500k for the early reset, then another 250k ontop as "apology" and I assume their rank will reset again on the 13th giving them even more free BPs...
-
In the end it won't matter what buff he would get since he will still be a slow af 115% killer with no map pressure which still makes him useless. There is a reason why Blight, Spirit and Nurse are the best killers in game.

The more you kill the higher your mmr.
The higher your mmr the more gen rushy the survivors will play.
The faster the games go the more you come to the forums complaining about not getting kills and will resort to dirty tactics.
No one see the pattern?
Maybe most killer players wouldn't tryhard so much if the survivors wouldn't act like toxic twats most of the time.
The other day I was playing a game as Trickster. They brought Haddonfield and cause of them ######### up big time I got a 3 ppl slug at 4 gens left. The last guy came to pick up and I went to chase him, then I was like "nah, don't wanna end it now" so I left him on purpose and hooked the other 3. I killed 2 in the end and the other 2 were both on death hook (got 10 hooks that game) and what did the 2 who survived do in the exit gate? They tbagged and then they started trash talking me in post game chat. I told em I could have killed them all but decided not to cause I wanted to be nice and not end the game so fast - they made even more fun of me. Needless to say I ain't gonna play nice again. Next time they ######### up, I will take my win and move on to the next game.

Dried Cherry Blossom add-on counters Iron Will and Scratch Marks.
I shouldn't have to use a specific addon just so my ability is gonna be useful at all. I have no problem with IW (I don't even care about CoH) but Shadowstep is completely broken against her - especially on indoor maps.
-
After nerfs yes but Shadowstep effectively killed her. It renders her ability completely useless since it hides scratchmarks.

I love facing console players when I am playing killer. I hate when I join a lobby with 3 console players as survivor tho. I usually dodge until I find a lobby with at least one other PC player.
Yes, there are trash PC players but damn most console gamers are SO bad (probably cause of poor optimization). Most of them run Urban Evasion and Selfcare, they have no clue how to loop (or simply can't cause of controller, I assume) and just generally like to not touch gens. And before I get to feel the wrath of the forum, I am gonna add that ALL the PC players I talk to think the exact same. They dodge console lobbies as survivor and enjoy them as killers. I even met quiet a few ex console gamers who moved to PC simply cause consoles suffer from so many issues (low FPS, controller being inferior compared to m&k etc.)
-
He suffers from the same issue as most other killers: if survivors hold 'w' asap as they hear the TR and pre-drop pallets its 'gg'. There is NOTHING the killer can do in this situation except for leaving the chase and trying to find someone else. Sadly most survivors play like that at this point cause honestly its the most effective way to play, so I do get why they do it.

The one person it makes sense to kill
@ OP you have to dodge lobbies until you get a James and then tunnel him, commit to lore
I wished I would encounter a PH as James just so I could stop running from him and point at him, accepting my guilt so the PH will have to stop playing to stay lore accurate 😂

ye but what addons does pyra have to spike his power in a very concrete way except double +range
or maybe the iri if it still shows a brief glimpse of whoever you cage's aura
I ike the one that increases the duration of his trail as well as the one that increases the triggered killer instinct when survivors step into the trail. I don't run "I am all Ears" on him, I use his trail for the same effect.
-
@Nayru said:

i would posit that ph's addons are very poor except +range and doctor is more reliant on addons because they introduce passive tracking to his power that he doesn't otherwise have given the instant someone hits tier 3 if you're not in their immediate vicinity they start holding m1
they're in a similar boat of mostly gravitating towards power range but doctor needs more on top of that
Ofc I wouldn't be opposed if they would give him some other kind of buff like mobility but that would maybe be harder to balance than simply making his yellow or green range addon basekit while reworking those addons to do something else.
Also yeah PH addons are meh but I like some of them, they make him stronger but he doesn't need them. I only bring addons on him if I see a full SWF with multiple toolboxes.
-
Pyramid head and Doctor are pretty similar gameplay-wise but I catch myself playing PH more and more over Doc simply because I don't have to spend a shitton of BP's I could use to lvl other stuff on him first to get the addons I need to make him actually playable.
Doc NEEDS addons to be actually decent (yellow or better green range addon) whereas PH can be played perfectly fine without any and still do well. I agree with the people in here who say no killer should be addon dependant, so yeah Doc should get at least the yellow range addon basekit.
-
The biggest insult is that the event offering costs 3k BP's (ontop of it being rare asf in survivor bloodwebs) but repairing a gen only grants you a bonus 1k. So there is ONE event gen by default and a 2nd gets added per offering. Which means if there is only one offering and you do both event gens you still only gain 2k extra bp's out of the 3k one had to spend in the first place to buy the offering.
-
Yesterday I just gave up after I got stucked twice in an infinite loading screen (had to open Task-Manager to close the app which caused me to lose my offering and made me depip) and after that I got several different error messages when trying to load into a match (sync-error, unknown-error, no connection). The game is in a truly horrible state.
-
The "event" is simply put BAD. The special tome is nice but the BP offerings are just plain bad. You get 1k extra bps for doing event gen. Meanwhile the offering is rare af and costs 3k to buy in the first place. They should have just done a double bp event or at least make it so every gen done nets you 3k like during the lunar event.
-
I experience the exact same issues. I play on PC/Steam

if you dont run Hex the survs need just 14 seconds
Really? Well it's still 14 seconds this specific survivor isn't sitting on a gen. I will be honest, I haven't used boon totems myself as survivor until now cause the survivor queue yesterday was horrible but I didn't have much of an issue going against them as killer (petty much every game was 4 Mikaelas). And I had games on Lerys and the game with people blessing totems and I still 4k'd.
-
Idk why everyone is complaining about boon totems as killer- I for one love when the survivors run them and permanently bless totems cause first I don't run hex perks and second thats 24 seconds a survivor isn't sitting on a gen. I hope they stay strong so survivors keep using them, makes gen pressure way more easy for me!

why would he need to stay in the match to see the endgame results? the server sees the match results when it ends and alters his MMR accordingly. MMR isn't such a massively urgent thing it has to be updated every second, it can wait a few minutes
I think you are highly overestimating bhvr's coding capability lol
They don't even have a way to record games on their end to ban hackers like most pvp games have. We don't even have the feature ingame to replay matches and you think they could make a system that tracks previous games to change thousands of peoples mmr from games that are already over?
-
@LordSturm said:

if one guy DCs then it should lower the influence penalties have on MMR for the rest of the match, i.e. dying should lower your MMR a lot less after a DC because it's not showing your lack of skill when a teammate just leaves
And what about if someone gets tunneled out of the game early and doesn't watch the rest of the game cause why should they? How would this person get an mmr rating from this match if he doesn't wait for the endgame results (gens done, chase time etc.) cause if his mmr just lowers cause he died first, we have the same situation we have rn with the current mmr.
-
@Dino7281 said:
You have explained killer MMR here:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2550621#Comment_2550621
I think survivor MMR should be affected by team results -> how many gens they did, how many escapes they had and game duration.
Killer MMR is good, but it works only if survivor MMR is correct.
And how do you want to do that with ppl who DC or die before the match is over and leave to hop into the next game?
If those people don't wait for the previous match to be over, how would that effect their mmr? This suggestion would simply never work.
