  • Nope you aren't doing anything wrong. That is how it is unfortunately.

  • Early game I focus on Hooks, near late game I focus on Kills.

In an ideal world, I would go for 12 hooks every game, because I mainly play Huntress and like to throw hatchets, but I have no problem slugging late game to get a win (personal win is 3k and usually give last survivor hatch or door)

  • Honestly, Just focused on the Rift Challenges, but now that I have them all complete I'm not sure.

Probably Throw a lot of Hatchets, SWF/Solo Queue random builds, and maybe start learning a new killer.

  • When the initially added the MMR matchmaking they removed it so killers couldn't use it to get easier opponents. Find survivors with a killer you never play then switch to your main killer for easier matches. They disabled the MMR matchmaking, but kept the MMR running in the background to gather more data with the idea that MMR matchmaking would be turned on again in the future.

They also mentioned something about it requiring a physical patch to revert to being able to switch between killers, though many are skeptical because of all the Chapter and Mid Chapter patches we have had during the time since MMR Matchmaking was turned off.

  • I have a couple.

Freddy. I was a pre-rework Freddy main, he was one of the reasons I got into the game. After the rework, I dropped him, while I was all for a buff he became too easy for me to use in comparison. I wanted a killer with a higher skill floor at that point.

Nurse. I mained Nurse for about 6 months on console after her rework, and was getting ok with her, but the amount of bugs every game got too frustrating to deal with. Animation bugs, loosing 2nd Blink, clipping into the edges of hitboxes in the environment and getting stuck, blink deadzones, m1 not coming out after blink, etc...

What does that have to do with anything? By the time I found out tutorial gave free points, I was already red rank.

I may have misread. Your message seemed to imply you had not done the tutorial, was just letting you know you could get some extra bloodpoints if you did.

  • @noctis129 said:

I have multiple accounts too. I also play on rank 15-20 and it's totally fine. Yea there are some potatoes but what do u expect?

I started dbd this year when the pandemic started and didn't even go thru the tutorial. Who does?

Completing both tutorials gives you free bloodpoints, just fyi.

  • How about post: your comp name; team name; and some vods of you competing.

  • Wait there was a Basket case Trilogy?! I loved the 1st movie back in the day, but had no idea they made more.

  • I think it was the weekend before last. Insane Speed boost, Instant heals from slug (to full health) and/or injured. An instant blind flash light that kept the blind and physically left me stuck in the stun for extended periods of time including the last full minute of the match. It was two hackers and one of them had a name pointing to the fact they were confident that the killer would disconnect.

They were blatant about it and trolled the whole match, but both stayed until the entity killed them and made jokes about how I did really well getting a 2k in the end game chat and that at least I got a lot of points.

  • I use to keep track of my survivor games, so this data is a little old, from about a year ago.

In 137 games 48 games the killer tunneled

In the same 137 games 64 game the killer camped.

Slugging took place about 50% of the games with only 5 games being "full game slugs" This mean killers with 4 man - 5 gen slug builds (i.e. Billy with infectious fright) The majority of the games where slugging took place were situational slugging where the killer would slug a bad hook save or would see another survivor after downing the first and would chase 2nd survivor instead of hook the 1st.

Like I said this was from about a year ago, but I would guess my games have been pretty similar recently.

  • Upon completing the last rift on PS4 I made the switch over to only playing PC, I caught a couple of dlc on sale on steam (there may be another sale coming up for Halloween if there is something you plan to purchase). Instead of re-buying everything I got the things I knew I wanted and focused on very specific builds for survivor and my preferred killers. I will probably slow start unlocking everything else with shards as I want or need it. with the hope one day we finally get cross progression.

    Good luck.

  • 1st M1 of the game would drop frames for me sometimes. (No sloppy or other status effect associated with the hit) That was on whiff as well.

  • It is dependent on your location and time of day. My killer queues are under a minute during the hours I play, my survivor queues are around 5 minutes.

If I happen to jump on Saturday morning my survivor queues are usually under a minute and killer queues around 5 minutes.

  • This past weekend, I had my 1st - 4 man meme squad. 4 Bills all in winter sweaters, load into cold tower, as I approach killer shack I hear the grunt of one falling. So I look in the basement and all 4 are crouch circling the hook. Lots of memes ensued, it was legitimately fun times. Unfortunately, my internet went out before we could finish the match, wanted to thank them for the laughs.

Thats correct, but as Killer you were able to get away.

So it didn't only affect killers then. Also, I was able to spin out of it as survivor the one time I was stuck there.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

And another Post where a Killer thinks that the Devs are survivor-sided.

Already forgot how long the Hill-Bug was in the game? Which only affected Survivors?

Only affected survivors? Pretty sure some killers got stuck there as well.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I'm not sure I follow; I want them to stay and die on a hook. :) The longer they are in the game, the more time I have to get them. Are you asking this in the context that you have decided to "let them go"?

I thing the question is in the event that gates are opened, survivors are waiting in the gate with EGC going, would you rather them just leave or hang out giving you time to break any thrown pallets, close hatch etc...

I'm fine with them hanging out so I can break pallets, get an extra hit pushing them out etc. I usually wait and let them get the extra hits when I play survivor.

  • That question hasn't been answered yet, and also note as of the last mention xbox and sony have not agreed to cross progression, it is only currently slated for pc, switch, stadia

How else will people know Jake is an absolute chad of a Gen Jockey, Claudette is clueless and gets grabbed off gens ... Dwight is crouching behind a tree doing absolutely nothing while Trapper Face camps. It's an accurate introduction to the game for new players

Don't forget Meg had been mori'd off of first hook per the scream heard at the start. EZ 4K

  • I've only had this happen on survivor side, never seen it on killer before.

I've had two version, one where the map information was shown but then stayed on screen the entire match, so you couldn't see any information about the survivors, your perks, and skill checks wouldn't display. I had this happen a few games a year or so ago.

Recently had the version where all info is just missing but it doesn't show the map information

  • I think the stats cause them more headaches than they think they are worth. Unfortunate as I would love to have seen stats since the ruin and map changes.

  • No Problem, I'm currently on a desktop and the forum has the twitter feed embedded unlike when on mobile.

  • You get mixed results on both sides.

I've seen Fungoose give baby killers kills before when he is playing survivor. I have also done this personally esp. if the killer is having a bad game. But I've also just rushed gens and left.

When I'm playing killer it just depends on the tone of the game. Played several games last night where the survivors were clearly new, lesser skilled or someone dc'd early, so I two hooked everyone, then practiced throwing hatchets while letting them finish gens and get out. I've also played games where the team bm'd at the start or I just wanted out of the game and ended it a quick as possible.

  • There is always a chance he could be released as a paragraph closer to the release of the movie.

But Xbox and PS4 aren't included in cross-progression, right?

Correct, they are not currently included

  • That would be cross progression, which is currently not in the game. Crossplay just allows player from other platforms to be in your game when playing.

  • I've seen this somewhere before, apparently if you drop it you can still slide over it, haven't seen it in game yet myself.

  • Thanks for this! First rift I've decided to save bp for the next chapter and these help immensely

  • @Clevite said:

Has it been turned off? I didn't see this annouced

    They announced it on Twitter.

  • I had mixed results.

PS4 My survivor games ranged from rank 20 to rank 1 killers mainly on the lower end though so I was felt like the MMR wasn't working. I know ranks "doesn't matter" in the matchmaking, but having new to the game killers that didn't even equip their 1 perk vs someone with 2,000+ hours isn't right.

PS4 Killer - I had one initial game with 3 new players (1-2 perks equipped) and 1 purple, but after that initial game my killer games went back to the usual all red ranks (probably due to the time of day I play)

Just started playing on PC with some survivor games and it has mainly been killers with 1,000+ hours. My 2nd game was a 3,000 hour Billy with my having less than an hour play time, so I felt like MMR wasn't working then either.

So survivor games were terrible, but my killer games were business as usual.

  • 17 but I am saving bloodpoints in the rift, so closer to 21 once those challenges are claimed.

  • I enjoy solo queue. However, My experience with the MMR so far has not been the norm from the posts on the forums and watching streamers play.

Well this explains that it is an ELO System, which should be obvious by now, but it does not explain how they try to make an ELO System work in Dead by Daylight. Because it is not even clearly defined what "winning" is. And if they would define it in any way (lets say escaping) this would not tell a lot about how good someone is.

I agree. I didn't say it did explain how they try to make it work in DBD. Everything is speculation until they reveal more, if they decided to reveal anything else. I was speculating about the specific question at hand: "When you play one of the killers you are less skilled with, will you still be thrown to a red rank swf because they have been waiting for 10 minutes." I believe based on what information they have provided the answer is yes.

I agree with you we need more info about how the system works and what is considered skill for both sides. They said they would do more post about the system. Hopefully it will be soon now that it is live.

That's nice to hear but if survivors are waiting in que long enough. The game tends to give them the first available killer regardless if it's fair for them because majority overrules. If there aren't enough killers in reds range will the new MMR just repeat the same process the old system used? "I cant find anyone? I'll just grab the first killer I see. Who cares if he's rank 16"

I assume this will happen just from the verbiage they used in the vague explanation of the system. Looking back at the old matchmaking post they talked about 3 factors: connection, wait time, fairness. From the way they explained it, it seemed like they placed the most importance on connection (which the servers were helping with at the time) and wait time as the priority with fairness coming in 3rd. Then with the talk of the MMR system, notice how they talk about the ability of the system to predict who would win, not the ability of the system to create fair matches. There is still the chance you could get plenty of mismatched games in terms of fairness, but the system predicting your loss will impact your mmr more or less depending on the actual outcome of the games.

  • They have already stated that you will be able to opt out of cross play. However, expect longer queue times.

Would be nice if as one of their steps in the road to full cross play they had a couple of weeks where the consoles all played together, not sure if that would be a real possibility with their coding though.

  • Here is another tutorial you may want to check out, from 3 weeks ago. Just takes lots of practice, I've been playing 2 years and can count on 2 hands my total number of flashlight saves as a solo queue survivor, difficult but not impossible.

  • I think it is very possible. Now that they plan to include some sort of start of the game slowdown, once that has been live for a while, there is a good chance slowdown perks will be adjusted. Perhaps further killer adjustment will happen as well depending on how advantageous the slowdown is for killers overall.

Same for me on PS4, really hope they can work something out in the future.

Why are Xbox and PS4 exempt from cross-progression? Was this somehow confirmed?

last thing I heard was they want cross Progression for all platforms but can’t confirm it at that moment because negotiations were still going on

There is a Post about it in the News Section, currently no cross progression for Xbox or PS currently and no guarantee it will happen in the future.

As for the original post I'm sort of in a similar predicament, I have all my purchases on PS4 and I have only the base game and spirit dlc (which I won a code for) on pc. I'm going to be finally getting an upgraded pc in the next month and should finally be able to play DBD on PC, but don't really want to have to double purchase any more content.
