You haven't been looking hard enough lol. I haven't seen a single game with a DC penalty where people haven't been complaining about it.
Not the DC penalty. I said I have yet to see a game where this many people DC and claim it is their right. Most other games I play people DC a lot but they dont make up some lame excuse to justify it. They admit they do it and move on.

I would 100-percent agree with you if the bugs were the reason why people disconnected in the first place however that sadly not the case.
People usually disconnect because they get downed first.
Don't like a specific killer
Don't like specific map
Too many gens completed whilst they were chasing one Survivor
They felt like a hit was cheap
They don't like X perk
Don't like x add-on
Their perk didn't work (hex destroyed,Missed ds, downed before Deliverance activated)
This.
I have never seen another game where so many people defend their BS reason for dc'ing. If your one of those people who dc whenever something on this list occurs then why do you still play the game? I can't imagine you would get many matches that fit your requirements.

it was easier tbh hitting great skillchecks was never hard
and yet the devs still nerfed it for the newbies instead of telling them to git gud.

Survivors who aren't as good on killer are switching to killer to more effectively grind bp during the event and are defaulting to strats like hard camping and tunneling. It would also explain longer killer queues.
It's possible. There are some reasons to tunnel and camp but most of the killer's I've seen doing it are actually hurting themselves. Face camping the first person hooked IMO is always a newb or a troll.
-
Funny. I played a few days ago and my killer que times were 1 min max. I was Green and just got back into purple ranks. The seemed to get even faster the closer I got to red. Then I played today and I had to wait like 4 mins. I alt+tabed out and watched youtube while I waited. The so called "event" is crap and yet I had quicker que times during that than during a double BP. You would think double BP means more players because that's an actual reason to play. Not more cosmetics that have to be paid for. It could be most people during a double BP event play killer because it's easier to get BPs.

Pro tip : just split up, if yall stay together he has the power, when split his power doesnt exist
Another tip, don't try to hide when he is in Frenzy. If he hits one person he will see you if your in his TR. Better off just running away and hope he runs out of Frenzy before he gets to you.

God that's weird to read. Makes it seem like it hasn't been that way for years, but it's very recent....
I don't remember how long ago it was but it's got some age to it. My point still stands. If OP thinks Ruin+Undying is powerful can you imagine Undying and old ruin?
-
When you thought they 99'd the gate and Michael is following right behind you like...
More like "When you teabag at the gate and realize he was using Blood Warden" :P
-
If you think Ruin is difficult NOW you should have been here when Ruin actually forced you to hit great skill checks.
-
I played 1 game as Freddy today. I don't even have him past P1 lvl 30. I have next to no perks on him. Somehow I got 4 survivors that did not play. They were just click baiting flashlights and pointing at each other. Half were console and the other half were PC. This was at purple ranks if that means anything anymore. I didn't tunnel anyone(this time) I didn't bring a Mori, I went after rescuers because I wanted BBQ stacks. They just weren't doing gens for some reason. I guess they believed I was obligated to farm because I brought a BPS and it's a double BP event? Or they were trolling.

It was 20k wasnt it?

Sounds more like a tweak than a rework xD
Yeah people need to learn the definition of "rework".
Adding a CD to a blink, an overheat to a chainsaw, or completely changing what a killer does(Old Freddy and current Freddy). That's a rework.
Adding an extra second to something, that's a tweak.
-
@ChiTenshi said:

There was a PH rework? Don't remember seeing that.
They adjusted the timings of his power. They made it so when you stick the sword in the ground and cancel it you have to wait like a full second before meleeing. It was so if people ran to a vault, he stuck his sword in the ground, the survivor saw that and backed away he couldn't unstick it and immediately hit you. To compensate they lowered the recover time it takes after using the wave but the issue is it's so telegraphed most people won't use it unless the survivor is animation locked into something. Honestly I haven't noticed much of a difference but they might tweak the number in the future.

I was expecting some smart ass comment like "I win all my killer matches because I stopped playing dbd" lol

The Match Making sucks in this game. Sadly your the minority(killer) and the game will throw you to the wolves(survivors) just so they can have a match. Your fun be damned.
From my understanding, bear in mind I can be totally wrong, MM works like this. It at first tries to find people of similar rank. If it can't find any it starts to look further from your rank. Wait long enough and it will forget rank all together and toss the first thing available so you have a game.
-
I did one match as survivor for a daily. It was red ranks and the killer was GF. He wasn't tunneling so to speak but I felt he was playing dirty. Nothing rule breaking just lame. He would hook someone, hide around a corner and stealth. Then wait for the rescue and lean around his corner to mark someone. He would go for the rescuer but literally that's all he did all game. It was all randoms so we fell behind by the time we adapted. I forgot I need to run Kindred every time I solo.
-
@musefan said:
The AI would end up being dumb and easy to manipulate.
For example, what should a killer do when it gets a noise alert? Investigate? Then you could just have someone loop the map and fast vault everything.
The devs just couldn't pull it off.
@Uncharted said:
It would make solo queue much more bearable if bots replace rage quitters. I can't count the amount of matches I had where everyone lost because a douchebag teammate decided to DC. It's even worse when we almost have all gens and they get downed for the first time then rage quit, actively killing our momentum and dooming all of us.
I remember playing Evolve they added bots. It was nice because it was something encase someone dc'ed. At first if someone DC'ed you were down 1 person. A bot didn't do much but it was better than nothing. I agree a killer/survivor bot would not work. It would be exploitable and very predictable.
-
Most of the time I say GG as a way of being polite. If I feel someone played dirty I don't say GG. Not cheating just playing scumy I won't say anything. Just move on to the next match. There's no point arguing with anyone in game or on forums. I never say GG EZ because to me that's saying "You suck"

If you allready havr him theb thats not an issue
If they release a new skin for him, it will require money. People who own the dlc won't receive it for free. They don't own the IP rights to the character so anything coming out for Demo they will have to charge.
-
Id say huntress. Wraith has some synergy with bloodhound and sloppy but other than that, crap. Freddy has Blood Warden which can have some moments. Remember me "Was" decent until they nerfed it.
-
Not sure if agitation needs a change. It's a very niche perk as it is and it does it's job well enough.
Does BS work on walls? If not I don't see why it shouldn't. I don't know how hitting a breakable object would be different from just breaking it.
UP could probably use something but the thing to worry about is the Doctor. He's the only person who can get real use out of it with his moving skill checks and stuff. Buffing UP will also buff certain doctor builds.
-
If I had a bad match it only irritates me if the survivors rub it in by saying "GG EZ". To me, saying EZ is the same as saying "You suck"
-
The one time I remember both sides agreeing to something was that nurse needed an add on rework. 5X blinks was broken. Yet the devs had to take it a step further. BHVR, great job at keeping two sides at each others throats.

I see the threads, and I highly doubt many of them would be taken seriously. It's very common knowledge in the entire community that Killers are incredibly weak in the current meta, and I highly doubt the far survivor sided forums is going to desuade the dev's from balancing Killers to be stronger.
I seriously bought like 4 boxes of popcorn packs for the day they nerf Decisive Strike. It's on the list. They've mentioned it multiple times. It's all over the forums. Dev's see Decisive Strike being abused, they want to nerf it. It's coming. I hope all these sorry saps are ready for that smack of reality.
The Halloween DLC still sells because of Mikey and DS. If they nerf DS and OoO less people will buy it. Look what happened to Ash when they fixed MoM.

How is it I am just seeing a load of one sided posts from killer and survivor. No talk of balance in many of the posts
They just want to win all the time. I remember when they added exhaustion mechanics. That patch was desperately needed because people could recover SB while running or people stacked sprinting perks and could not be caught. Even when it was obvious that change was for the good of the game a lot of people still went to the steam page and review bombed the game.
-
I got a friend who every time he wants to derank as killer he plays trapper and changes his name to "WeTrapDaBasement". He deosn't want to go in a match and not play for the sake of depiping. Surprisingly he ranks "up" when he does this. He downs someone, put them in the basement and people don't watch their step.

Not to sound negative but im predicting a skin. They already disappointed us with the Halloween event. Or lack of.
Since demo is a licensed character anything besides a rework will cost us real money.

Sadly it is my first DBD event. I keep hearing about the great events that they've run in years past, and it's amazing how this pales in comparison. Not only was I looking forward to something that they've done before, but having such poor optimization during the event has really soured me on the whole DBD experience.
Almost every event there's problems in the first week. It's almost like clockwork. They usually extend it to compensate.
-
I find routing is best for dealing with Freddy rather than looping. If your asleep and you loop a pallet Freddy will just snare you. If you keep running from gym to gym his traps won't do anything unless you come back. Unless he rigged the place up before the chase. Not a great solution but it works. I looped a Freddy on his own map for a good amount of time this way. Running from houses to the school ect. Remember your not suppose to be able to lose the killer every chase. If he downs you that doesn't mean he is OP. Your goal is to waste as much time as possible for your team to finish the gens. If you loop him for a few minutes and no gens got repaired that's your teams fault.
Another tip is if your asleep and Freddy is no where near you or he is chasing someone else, set off all his snares. Yes it will reveal you but those snares will have to be replanted.
His teleport actually has a pretty long CD unless everyone is asleep. When being chased by Freddy be sure to pass a glance back at him to make sure he isn't teleporting to a gen that happens to be where you are running too. Or try to loop him to places where the gens were completed.
I'm against changing Freddy because I remember when he came out and how weak he was after survivors learned how to counter him. He was the weakest killer in the game until Legion got here. Now he is at least A rank IMO. Going from the bottom to near top is a vast improvement. The only thing I would change about him is make BT work off proximity to the hook rather than TR. Your oblivious when your asleep so BT doesn't work unless your awake.
-
My issue with hex perks is they are suppose to be high risk high reward. Yet some of them the reward is flat out bad.
Huntress Lullaby being the prime example. They get a notification as soon as they touch a gen even though you have no stacks yet. It takes 5 stacks to get the full effect. However by the time you get 5 stacks most gens are already completed. You would think no audio que would slow down the gens but unless your pressure is amazing(or the survivors suck) you won't get 5 hooks in time for when you can benefit from it.
Devour Hope on the other hand is amazing. Gives you a good bonus at 3 stacks, they get no notification until then, 5 stacks the pay off is very nice.
Then there's also the times when survivors spawn in front of a hex totem and we still have bad placements.
-
My farming build is WGLF+We'll Make It+BT+Exhuastion perk and a medkit for self healing. BT damn near ensures a safe rescue, we'll make it is for fast healing if there is time, the exhaustion perk is for yourself and the medkit so you have a way to heal yourself at least once. Rescuing people injured is a bad idea unless the killer is far away.
-
As far as I'm concerned, if someone dc's on your team you should take it up with the survivor who left you to dry.

As part of Franklin’s base, Killer’s should be able to stomp on the survivor’s item after it’s been demised or strike it with their weapon (brief animation to the effect of a very short stun) rendering it damaged, cutting the remaining charges in half.
Just an option, could prove effective should a survivor manage to retrieve the dropped item.
Id much rather stab survivors with their key or beat them over the head with their own toolbox.

I play both but lean more towards killer because I'm solo most of the time. If friends are on I play swf. If I'm alone I play killer because I hate randoms.

Survivors are 4/5s of their customers. It's more money for them to keep survivors happy. It's all about $$$$$. Pure and simple.
-
I don't think the problem is surge isn't a good perk it's that we only have 4 slots and there are so many other choices.
Ruin, Undying, PGTW, Corrupt Intervention, STBFL, Whispers, BBQ, NC, Sloppy, Franklins, M&A.

I was drawn to him because he is the Godfather of the entire slasher genre, and thus the patron saint of this game. I'm a huge fan of the original movie, and so when I decided to play DbD, I knew I was going to stick with him until I got him to Rank-1. I also picked him because he is listed as "Hard" because he does have a learning curve. It isn't as steep at the Nurse, but it ain't easy. I figure if I can get to Rank-1 with him, then the Killers I learn next should come easier. In regards to his playstyle:
- I love Spooky Myers (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo). I like mind games and working the jump scares. Naturally it is more effective on the smaller, indoor maps, but I've played him so much in this build now I've been able to get consistent wins on larger maps.
- I enjoy Maniac Myers (Any Build which can hit Tier-3) because of the options. Right now, I'm experimenting with the Dead Rabbit+Hair Bow along with the Perks Undying, Ruin, Monitor & Abuse, & Iron Maiden. Most people start jumping in Lockers to let a Maniac Myers run out the Insta-Down clock. Thus, when they come out I get a notification and some more Insta-down as a nasty surprise. The Dead Rabbit and Monitor & Abuse give me a zero terror radius even in Tier-2 when not in a chase. *Sometimes I throw in a Fragrant Tuft of Hair but when I do I don't bother with the Iron Maiden and replace it with Thrill of the Hunt.
I guess what I like most about him is that you can drastically alter how he plays. His add-on(s) don't just make him better at what he does, they completely rework him. That interests me.
I semi miss the days when spinechill didn't work on stealth myers.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t pay it back.
But leave it up to the community, they definitely had this planned the whole time. They were waiting for purchases so they that could jip everyone who bought the skins early. Sigh~
I remember when Ash's DLC came out people were screaming conspiracy that they waited for enough people to buy the DLC before fixing MoM. Who knows if they really intended that. I will say the fact they put MoM in here and failed to predict it would break the game speaks how well they know their own product.
-
6 ways to nerf DS.
0 chances of it happening.

I hit R1 just before the emblem system came out. I had the game for longer but I usually stopped playing when I got to purple ranks because it was more frustrating than fun. No idea how many game hours I had under my belt when I did that.

Well it wasn't some dastardly plan or anything like that. They were trying, on the fly, to come up with something to give back while still keeping an eye on their bottom line. So they reworked the event to give us lots of BP and Shards, and reduced the cost in Shards for the new Skins. The only unconsidered aspect of this was the people who had immediately bought the Skins unaware how rapidly they would come on sale.
A lot of people, conspiracy theorists mostly, think this was some sort of dirty trick, when it was simply a reaction to the community response. I fully expect those people who paid full price to get some sort of compensation once the company figures out a win/win way to do it. People just don't have any patience anymore, and want to play the victims and scream at the first opportunity.
I really really don't think those people who paid full price will get anything back.

Before you tell people how good BHVR is maybe you should look up WHY people are so upset in the first place.
-
I wouldn't use this chart to make any real decisions on who needs buffs/nerfs. According to this info, Nurse is on the bottom. Despite her numerous bugs(that have been here for more than a year and yet to be addressed) she is still the strongest killer in the game.
-
@MrLimonka said:
Are you talking about the video with the Hillbilly?
The killer was clearly meme'ing, he could have easily downed all 4 of them if he wanted to. The "healing build" he presented obviously counters slugging if used correctly, but if you used it how it was used in the video, you'd probably be throwing the game.
That and no one was doing gens for most of that video. I don't get the impression we will be seeing this build often. It didn't look like that Billy was actually trying.
-
I'm afraid there is no way to convince people to stay when the game is this messed up. 3 R1's facing a brand new killer should not happen. Ever. Yet in order for that to work a proper MM needs to be invented.

The OP doesn't seem to be coming across as saying they wants it gone. He/she was asking for a counter to deal with it. Big difference.
Yes the OP is displaying the correct behaviour. Instead of whining for nerfs they are asking what they can do about it. More people(both sides) need to have this attitude.
