Disable exhaustion perks in general for a weekend and see how that goes.
Even I think that would be bad. Be funny, but bad.

I don't use ds as much as I used to. But I probably would avoid playing all weekend bc all the killers will automatically get tunnel vision lol and that is not fun for some Survivors. Some killers tunnel so hard already . Could you imagine if ds got turned off ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ
Could you imagine if ds got turned off ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ
That's what this entire thread is about. The sheer amount of people who would be upset if that were to happen is mind boggling. I still find it funny the amount of responses that think this is a serious question and not a joke.

How so? Being a distraction? Blinding you on a pallet stun? What's the survivor cardinal sin to avoid this?
Usually something I consider toxic. Like deliberately pointing at your teammates to tell me where they are, tea bagging every single pallet numerous times, getting pulled off the hook and deliberately getting in my face to use your DS, hacking. I've rarely done it but when "I" do it's for a damn good reason.
If a killer is tunneling you for 3-5 gens then either you really pissed them off or that killer is playing poorly. If you lead them on that long a chase then you effectively won the match for your team.
-
I can't speak for others but for myself. If I throw the match to chase you for that long, you probably did something to deserve it.

How does Bloodlust compare to DS?
It doesn't. Not even close but I was referring to the devs idea of "Lets shut off something to see what happens".

I'm a killer main and I actually would approve of this. In fact I suggested this in the past due to face camping Wraiths. It would also help when trying to save people against Freddy when your asleep.

Were you around for patch 1.9.2?

Yeah, definitely. One of the mistakes when I first played this game was making Bubba more or less one of the last licensed killers I got. Never again
Most people know the chances of BBQ showing up in the shrine. You have better luck getting Xur to sell gjallarhorn in Destiny 1 before The Taken King expansion
-
I've never fiddled with mouse sens and I felt just fine. However I didn't use killers that required flicking. It sucks your console took a crap. I've had that happen a few times and it's one of the reasons I converted to PC years ago.
Having played for 2 years you probably already know this but I suggest lvling up Bubba first for BBQ. It really helps cut down on the grind.

Lmao you remind me of the good ol killer strike movement. Your threat means nothing to anyone. Good killers stay and unfortunately, too many whiny killers dont leave. Game only grows.
Yes, strikes mean nothing. However this game is terrible for new players. Even if good killers stick around they will run out of things to do. Eventually they will unlock everything or they will just get bored. They won't be around forever and with no new players coming in, que times will only get worse........Let me rephrase that part. New players are coming in but they are quickly leaving when they find out what this game is really like. The devs know the game is in a tough spot and instead of actually fixing it, they are cranking out DLCs to try to lure more meat in the grinder. The only reason DBD has lasted this long is every other game like it has flopped. If there was a genuine competitor there would be a mass exodus to that other game.
-
I blame certain streamers that make a living out of bullying other players.
-
In a way the devs might be learning. Instead of making changes that will obviously affect the game they're going to temporarily disable them to see how bad the effects are.
Almost like they don't want a repeat of something that happened long ago. I can't quite remember it. It had something to do with a drastic change to a vital perk for killers. What was it's name? All I remember is once they change it 5 gens were repaired in like 2 mins. Then instead of reverting the change they nerfed the living #@$% out of something from the other sides arsenal to try to compensate for the horrible change. Heaven forbid the devs undo a horrible patch because that would be admitting they screwed up.
Either way, I picture very few people playing killer this weekend.

Killers are relying on Rng with this build types tho. Hexes are bound to be found by perks or have the worst spawn.
This is what survivors fail to realize. Before undying, hex perks were a coin toss. More often than not, it was cleansed very early due to spawning on top of it, being placed out in the open or it was put next to a gen where people will see it. If Undying carried over stacks of Devour Hope then it would be broken. Ruin only works if the killer is applying pressure. Which has been what survivors have been telling killers to do for years. Literally any complaint brought up by killers about gen times was responded with "Duh, just apply pressure" Now that killers have a reliable way of doing that, survivors are angry.

Camping in an unfun way is rarely a good strategy and leads to getting genrushed. There are benefits and consequences to camping. Its a strategy.
I feel the issue is there are a large % of survivors that forget to "gen rush" if the killer is camping. Camping is a strategy but it sucks for the killer most of the time. The survivor's are ultimately the ones in control when the killer decides to face camp. If more survivors learned to do gens instead of hook rushing then less killers would camp.
-
Don't you have enough already?
-
To all the people complaining about ruin+undying+tinkerer. Now you have some slight idea of how every killer feels when they face DS+UB+Adren+BT X 4

You can't learn anything if you are playing against someone who is overwhelmingly better than you. It doesn't work like that in any game. Especially if we speak about toxic smurfs trying to make your experience miserable. That just discourages newcomers, and you can't demand them to go tryhard before they get engaged.
If you play CoD and you spawn in the path of a moving bullet. Get killed before you can even move. Is that person learning how to play? That's what it's like for new killers. By the time they find someone, not down, 3 gens popped.
-
Throw in headsets and OoO and you got a M1 killer. I'm sure a lot of survivors actually believe that all killers should be like that. Completely at their mercy -.-
-
Yeah Prestiging sucks. I hate how to really max out a killer I have to hit 50 3 times. Sure I don't have to prestige them but I'm always worried I might one day change my mind. Say I get a killer to 50 and unlock all their perks. Then I decide I want the bloody weapon. All those points I sunk into them just dug me a deeper hole.

Update on the "rank 20 4-man smurf SWF myth/boogeyman":
Logged into my gf's profile that's on rank 20 to show you how "rare" the boogeyman is.
Took me literally 1 single match to find the "boogeyman":
4 man SWF (all of them quickswitched at the same time) with 1 key, 1 map, 2 flashlights, 1 map offering.
All of them ran meta-ish builds, looped, tbagged, bodyblocked the hook, took hits for each other.
Their ranks were 19, yellow and green. Can upload the post game screen as well if someone doubts it.
So yeah... Smurfing SWF teams are not rare at all.
New killers have to deal with exactly the same things as red rank killers making matchmaking as a whole pointless.
That's another thing that piss's me off. People say "Oh that rarely happens" The fact that it happens AT ALL shows how broken the MMR is. The forums have suggested several times about letting us see if the survivors we just faced were in a swf "after" a match has ended. If we could see it before killers would just lobby dodge but after the match is over I see no harm. BHVR won't do that because it will give us a way to track how many times we actually run into SWF. We all know their data is very questionable.
-
The same can be said about console killers. I'm on PC and since they introduced cross play it feels like 90% of console killers I find face camp. For face camping I feel the problem is 2 fold. Most survivors fall for face camping. They sit there doing nothing, hoping to get a save. Meanwhile no gens are getting done. The killer gets 4k and they think "This seems to be working. I'll keep doing it". Against real red survivors face camping isn't going to work. If more survivors countered camping properly there would be less killers doing it.

This issue is why a friend of mine quit 10 minutes after downloading the game. He downloaded it from the Xbox Gamepass so thankfully he didn't spend anything, but that's still not the point. I suggested Killer because it was more interactive and can be fun. He got a smurf squad SWF team, 1 Rank 16, the rest Rank 1. They even brought OoO for christ sake. Since he was new he didn't realise that they knew everything he did thanks to that single perk. And they knew it. They just taunted at him, flashlighted him constantly, and just overall BM. I don't even bother recommending this game to anyone anymore, hell, I deter them away from it. The fact that new players can be subject to toxic behaviour for peoples own amusement is very telling, especially when the devs allow this to happen.
and people wonder why they're so many killer threads complaining about the state of the game. A newbie facing a squad of 1000's should not happen but god forbid those people have to wait for a killer their rank. I'm sure someone is thinking "It takes 15 mins of que time at r1 for 4 survivors" Well it's only gonna get worse if the game keeps going in the direction it's heading because new people certainly aren't going to stick around. Eventually the vets will move on to something else.
-
If you can loop for as long as possible and drop the pallet "without" getting hit then good job. If I suspect I will get hit regardless of what I do then I won't drop the pallet to try to save it for later.
-
Starting a thread with "If you have a different opinion than me, you are wrong!" Is not a good way to start a discussion.

Lol can't believe they got mad at you. I would be mad at you if you tried to save us and the killer got a 4k instead of a 3 ๐
I'm pretty sure those randoms were newbs.

Survivors need to learn when to cut their losses. If 1 person is hooked, the killer has NOED or a built in one shot and isn't leaving. Your just going to feed him more kills. Don't dismiss my advice because I happen to be a killer main. Learn to judge when it's time to cut off the finger to save the hand.
I had a match on swamp. Gates are open and 1 person is in the basement under the boat. 2 people attempt to make the save. One steps in a trap. Another gets injured, makes the save, drops and the person running steps in another trap. I leave. Then in the end game chat they yell at me for not helping. I told them he only had 1k until you gave him 2 more. I'm a trapper main. I know better than to try to make a basement save. Especially when no one has BT and the killer is soft camping the basement.
-
"Playing Billy just boils my blood"
I get the same feeling when I play Nurse. Even though there's no one else like her. I feel like I'm fighting the bugs more than the survivors.
-
So you suck against PH and therefore he must be OP?
-
If anyone has played this game a lot and they knew the killer was bubba. Then they wouldn't be standing that close together.
-
They talked about it being implemented but how long did they talk about servers before they actually got here? A few years? When they finally got here they were actually crap for the first few months too.
-
It's not esports but it definitely is a competitive game. Google the definition of competitive. One player wins and one player loses. Only adjust the numbers to 1v4.

Why people playing there are so tryhard ? The gameplay is so different than playing in afternoon or morning ( wich is non sense because its always afternoon somewhere)
That's pretty much every game with any form of versus. Morning/afternoon most people are at school or work. After dinner into the late hours is when most people get on.

I might get some heat for this but the amount of killers who will just tunnel with impunity off the hook when there's no obssession, even if it means letting gens pop and getting 1K maybe 2 is shockingly high, even in red ranks. I don't know why they do it tbh. I find camping/patrolling to be incredibly boring. I'm talking seeing killers with well over 1 to 2 thousand hours on their steam account playing this way. The excuse is "its the most effective strategy" but thats only ever been true to me if the killer has gone out of their way to already throw the game for the kill. Made sense to me in the old Commodius toolbox or BNP days. But when you're doing that with Ruin and Undying active I begin to question why you're playing this and not Friday the 13th with its instant grab kills.
I confess there are a lot of killers that just go after one person throughout the entire match and that is why DS exists. However there are also times when the killer is doing extremely well and DS punishes them even if they weren't tunneling. There have been a few rare moments when I hooked someone. Downed and hooked 2 other people. Came back to the first person by chance and they still had DS.
-
Trapper. When someone gets in my face to DS then when I am stunned they step in a trap.
-
If I'm trapper I actually like Haddonfield because certain rooftops can be trapped and they cannot be disarmed without stepping in them. The maps I hate are Mother's Dwelling because of it's sheer size and Hawkins because I don't know where anything is.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
The killers themselves are supposed to act as different game modes. Switching up tactics and such.
Not really. Almost all killers operate under the same principal. Go to this pallet and loop while the team completes gens. Very few killers have powers that actually mix that up. Prime example being Nurse. Who actually forces you to do something different.

@SunderMun said:
I've never witnessed people DCing for Devour Hope before, tbh.
Same. I too run DH on my trapper and it's the survivors own damn fault if I get a mori.
1: It's a hex perk. There's always the chance it will spawn in a bad spot.
2: You need 5 stacks to mori someone and they get a notification at 3.
3: If a killer, especially trapper, hooks someone and leaves right away. Without setting traps, that should be a sign the killer wants to be X amount away from the hook.

"Players are exploiting something"
Oh say it ain't so

From my experience when a survivor has TTV in their name it's going to be a bad match. No matter who I'm playing.
If I'm survivor the killer expects a swf so they put on their try hard build with a mori. Instead of repairing gens the streamer is more concerned with putting on a show. They want the killer to chase them, the follow the killer around hoping to get a flashlight/pallet save instead of doing the objective. They often stack 2nd chance perks so they can DS right in the killers face. Often when they get out played they rage quit. Whenever I play killer the people with TTV in their names tend to quit when they find out I can't be bullied so easily. I've lost track how many times I play trapper, someone deliberately gets in my face because they want to use their DS. As I'm stunned they vault a window and step in a trap /rage quit
TL:DR. Streamers usually care about getting views instead of actually playing the game. They are usually no fun.

Eh this logic falls apart due to if you have no characters people can pick up and play well then the game will die due to most people not being able to play it.
Elitist mentality like this dooms many games/ game generas.
Look at arena shooter genera to see the consequences of this mentality.
Also I am NOT saying every character should be easy or what not its just you'd need to have good entry level characters if you want to have a proper player base.
True you want some characters that are not difficult to use so you get an audience but having a few characters that excel once mastered isn't bad either. A prime example is Overwatch's Sombra. She has almost the lowest pick rate but in like the top 5% she is in most games because the team knows how to take advantage of her ULT.
-
Before or after his rework? lol
-
In any game, I feel if a character is very powerful in skilled hands then that is a well designed character. A bad character is someone who can be picked up and immediately do very well.
-
I confess, when people say This is OP This is UP, 95% of the time it's incorrect. People take one look at something and come to a conclusion. However there is that 5% where something people said would break the game actually ended up breaking the game.(Old MoM or Patch 1.9.2)
-
I feel DH is fine. Unless you see a survivor use another exhaustion perk just treat it like DS. Assume everyone has it.
-
When the shutdowns started I ordered a ps4 just for FF7 remake. After I beat that game I went on a binge of playstation games I missed. Until Dawn was one of them and I thought it was interesting. The thought had crossed my mind the trailer could be a wendigo from that game but I highly doubt it. If BHVR was going to make another licensed killer they would pick something people are familiar with to draw a larger crowd. That's the purpose of being licensed, attention. If your going to go through the trouble of splitting your profits it makes sense you would want an IP that is widely known.

As a survivor main sounds good lol.
Just dont add DH on there because people call it a 2nd chance perk but it basically does the job of ever other exaustion perk.
I dont know why people think DH is a 2nd chance perk. The moment you know they have it, it's very easy to bait it.
