Whispers. It tells you when an area is clear so you don't waste time searching and it's always on. Majority of killers think aura reading perks are king when it comes to tracking. All of those perks require something for them to activate. Be it a hook, a completed gen, someone healing. There are ways the survivors can work around those. YOU CAN'T hide from Whispers.

Thx for the info!
that sounds like one could be optimistic!
but I guess we would need to wait at least 9month before we could see anything in DbD
If you have a subscription to shudder, there have a documentary on Kane. It was an okay watch.
As for Jason in dbd, I'll believe it when I see it. Until then I won't anticipate anything. Personally I don't want Jason in here because the devs won't do him justice. Since their last chapter I have even less faith in them and I didn't think my expectations could get any lower for bhvr.
-
Hasn't noob been banned multiple times for hacking?
I don't watch him so I don't know much about him. What I do know is there is a section of the player basis that doesn't like him.
-
It's been a long while since I really played DBD. What if someone goes into the basement and you park Charlotte on the steps? Does that stop them from getting out of the basement or can they squeeze by?

If you picked up the survivor right after unhooking, you’re still tunnelling them regardless of DS
at the very least DS makes tunnelling slower as a result of the stun, but really that’s all it does.
What if you hook someone and leave. You take 10 steps and the save is made. You turn back around and the 2 are gone. You can't find the rescuer but you can see the blood trail. How is it tunneling if there is no one else to go after? Ignoring the blood trail is giving up a chase and counter productive to the killer's objective. There are plenty of times when I eat a DS not because I was tunneling but because I found the unhooked by chance or they got cocky and came to me because they have DS.

It's pure garbage as a Hex. 16m areawide blocking of pallets, yet when you hit a survivor near a pallet, they pretty much gain that 16m in distance to another pallet that isn't blocked. It should either, as you say, boost it's AoE, or make it a cooldown perk like Surge. Right now, it's close to useless since survivors gain far too much distance to another loop to even be usable in chases.
It might have been coconut or tericho who suggested this. Make it so the effect follows the survivor that is hit. That way no matter how much distance they gain they can't drop a pallet.

Well it takes what, 90 seconds to repair a generator? If you were chasing just one survivor (and they didn't accidentally lead you to interrupt their teammates) then yeah, I'm not sure what you're surprised about.
I really don't get what the point of this thread is. You failed to pressure survivors, and they repaired gens because they had nothing else to do (nobody to unhook, nothing to hide from, no need to heal) what are you expecting?
Try getting better at applying pressure to multiple survivors, knowing when it's not worth chasing survivors (for example, if you only had 1 hook in 5 minutes) and maybe take Corrupt Intervention
The problem I see is some killers really struggle to apply pressure to multiple survivors. They lack the chase ending power or the mobility to quickly find someone else. Also perks are not a solution to game mechanics. Despite what the devs believe, perks do not fix things. They're band aid fixes at best.
"Gens are flying too fast" /ruin
"The killer is tunneling me" /ds
"The killer is camping" /bbq
The killer can see me across the map" /distortion
"Ruin dies too fast" /undying
"Survivors heal too fast" /sloppy
"SC heals too slow" /Inner Strength
"Keys are op" /franklins
"Que times are terrible" /play something else
-
Congrats. I'm not a Pig expert but I suggest taking off one of those perks for Whispers. If your trying to get the drop on people Whispers will help with that. As you move to a gen if Whispers lights up you have enough time to crouch before they hear your heartbeat. This is rendered useless if they are running spine chill however.

Spirit with strider maybe? Or maybe just go for a hag 3 gen camp.
Add this with the awful match making the game is becoming more stale than it ever has before, the above combo is just silly for some killers and even if it's "balanced" it's just makes for an awful game and the same thing over and over and over
"How to play survivor"
Bring every 2nd chance perk in the game and a key for good measure
Pick Claudette so you won't be seen
The moment you hear a heartbeat run to the nearest jungle gym
Every time you lose call the killer toxic

Some side has to have the priority in this case. And they went for the Killer Side, they get the priority when both Survivor and Killer interact with the Hatch. This is unlucky for you, but overall it is fine IMO.
If the killer has managed to kill 3 other survivors before the gens got done and they found the hatch as it opened they should get that 4th kill. I mean they were kinda crushing you to get to that point. At least we don't have those horrendous hatch stand offs anymore.

That she is actually weak?
Not so much weak as unfun to play. She's still the strongest killer in the game but she has a really high skill ceiling. I rarely use her since her rework because of all the bugs introduced that the devs have no interest in fixing. Playing as nurse now feels like I am fighting the game's mechanics as much as I am fighting the survivors.
-

well that bug is actually good I wanna be able to hit that skill check omg. Also who runs Unnerving Presence? Rank 20s can hit those skill checks easily lol.
The only time I see people running unnerving is on Doctor. Usually it can be annoying if they are running reverse skill checks or moving skill checks.

devour hope is one of the most fair perks in the game
I've actually never had survivors whine about getting moried from 5 stacks of Devour Hope. Cause they could have done something about it. It's like getting hit by Blood Warden. Instead of complaining "BW is OP" they think "I should have 99% the gates". They get hit by DH and think "I shouldn't have rushed the gens" or "So that's why this killer wasn't camping". IMO it's what a hex should be. Very powerful, a nice reward half way through and they don't know it's on the field until it's dangerous.

A lot of Nurse/Billy mains have been degraded to "look at this baby Trapper, what a Noob"
Yeah I was upset with that rework. The fact they said they were going to touch her add ons then ######### slapped us with a CD. She's still buggy since then and they have yet to address it.

Agreed, I play Overwatch a lot and there is a shortage of Tank and Support players, most people only play DPS, you can be in queue for 10+ as DPS and less than 3-4 as either of the other two. So as an incentive for ppl to play anything other than DPS they give out loot boxes and coins. So giving Iridescent Shards for every 5 games played as killer or smth sounds pretty reasonable
Ive played both games. The only issue I see with a hero in need system is there is only 2 sides. When you play FF14 there's 3. Almost all the time it's tank that is in need. Sometimes you'll see healer. I think I saw DPS once and I've had the game for 4 years maybe? Same with Overwatch. Mostly tank, sometimes healer, have yet to see dps in need. This game, because there's only 2 sides, it will always be Killer in need.

I just can't believe that happens to you 8 out of 10 times. If it is true I can understand the break.
I do not think killers are unstoppable. All I think is hit validation is #########, and survivors receive no love. I am a blight main and a pretty good one I control the match. You should not be able to pressure 4 people at once. It would be impossible to win as survivor. I never said that's good game design lol. Killer being frustrating is a YOU problem.
I don't understand why you do not understand that is a subjective statement. In my opinion I think killer is easy. I can win consistently and my blight is improving by the day. There is a killer shortage because people refuse to learn how to mind game and outplay survivors. It really isn't that difficult. Also even then there isn't really a killer shortage it's the time of day that makes queues long or short. Also matchmaking has been broke for a while.
I do agree hit validation sucks. I really don't like it when I vault a window, take 3 steps and I still got smacked.
-
If we want more people to play killer then the devs have to make it actually enjoyable. Unfortunately I haven't a clue how they can do that.

Once again that is an extreme. An objectively weak killer who needs perks against a busted perk and a swf that makes his power near useless is a definite loss unless the team is bad. All the stuff you mentioned definitely made killer easier. For example I don't have to instantly leave chase because the survivor ran to the infinite with their sprint burst that's already recharging as they run through it. Nor do I have to hit the survivor and see the insta heal at the other side of the window. Oh yeah I still don't have to worry about them mid blinding me with insta blinds.
It sounds to me like you don't want killers nerfed at all. I'm gonna be completely honest here. I have seen some of your previous posts you put killer on a pedestal and treat killer like apex legends treats wraith (does not want to really touch her). Nurse is still the best killer with zero counterplay when played good, enduring cant work on ds stuns it would make it useless. I remember when it affected 4 second ds stuns on the old version. I used to eat ds like nothing as a billy main. You said it yourself you feel no difference. I'll admit though the change as dumb but I can understand it. Not even gonna comment on the mori one. If you are seriously complaining about spine chill I doubt you played back then lol.
Yeah you have to be trolling if you think the game is "slightly" more balanced.
The extreme case is 8 out of 10 matches when I play killer. So your version of extreme is my version of normal. It's also why I've taken a break.
I've seen several of your posts too and you have this idea that killers are unstoppable. That is flat out not true. The survivors are the ones with the power. They control how the match goes. Unless your using a top tier killer and your skilled at them, you just can't pressure 4 people at once. If both sides know what they are doing, the killer is at a disadvantage because they are out numbered. Designing a game to only be fair when one side doesn't know how to play is bad game design. Despite everything discussed in this thread, killer is the most frustrating experience in this game. If it were easy I wouldn't be debating with you. If it's so easy to play killer there wouldn't be a shortage of killer's either. Turn on MM and see how many times you get paired with a killer of equal rank. Every week someone is posting a thread about getting paired against red survivors while they are barely rank 10.
-
I think the biggest issue with Key's is bad survivors on your team. Like you mentioned, it can screw you over. In a swf or a coordinated group it's a free escape for several.

If you don't think killer has gotten easier over the 4 years of survivor nerfs I think you must just be flat out bad as killer. I am gonna be completely honest with you. 4 years of nerfs and you think there has been a survivor buff and shadow nerf to compensate? Yeah keep exaggerating.
Bad randoms, and ######### servers. The devs neglect trying to fix the servers and try to come and justify the bad hits. I am on console so it sucks. I do agree console survivors are super trash. But then again all survivors are. Atleast in pubs. Your last few points I complete agree with.
Try playing Trapper against a 4 man swf with OoO and tell me how easy killer has gotten. I'm trying to find a better way of explaining how I feel. It's not that killer has gotten easier so much as survivor's are being reined in.
Infinites, old SC, syringes, old bnp+tool boxes, BT applied to both, DS triggered when you wiggled to 30%, stacking exhaustion perks, recovering sprint burst while running, insta flahslights. All of these things were not to make killer's job easier so much as they were broken and unfair.
Killer has had some significant nerfs as well. Ruin rework. Yes some can argue it wasn't a nerf but it no longer slows the gens down unless you can push them off it. A lot of killers have difficulty doing this. Nurse rework, she's been buggy ever since and they have yet to fix her. Enduring used to work on DS now it only works on pallet stuns. PGTW was cut down to 45 secs. While I feel no difference their reason for nerfing it was pretty dumb IMO. Mori change. While I agree ebony mori's were bad but the way they changed them I see no reason to even bring them now. Spine Chill works on stealth Myers. That used to be a fun match to play against a jump scare Myers on Lerys.
I'm probably contradicting myself. Killer's job has gotten easier but it is no where near easy unless the survivors are potatoes. It's not that killer is easy, it's that playing killer when the game launched was hard as F!@#. Now that the game is getting "slightly" more balanced it appears that killer's have it easy when in fact the game is just as difficult and frustrating as ever given the skill of the survivors.
-
I feel Mori's had to be changed but they did a poor job changing them.
Yes we had to get rid of killer's tunneling someone off the hook to get rid of them right away with an ebony. Now Mori's are useless. I feel this is like the MoM change. It needed to be changed but what they did remove all practical uses.

Except you can't read statistics and there is a massive downward slope at the end that isn't leveling off which should be concerning to anyone looking at it.
There is also the fact that if you turn on the game for 10 seconds, it's considered a player for the whole day. That number of active players could be way off. I've turned on the game just for the sake of getting a daily login or to refresh my dailies. Then I shut it off. That shouldn't count me as "Active" but in their system, it does. It's just something to show their investors that the game isn't dying. I feel it is but it is a slow process. It takes some games years to truly die and people have been saying it's going to die every week.
IMO it's mostly going downhill. Every now and then they do something right and it goes up again. Then they screw up again and it goes back down.
-
We can't even get a killer that works. I doubt we will get a new map in the next chapter.
-
I don't feel killer has gotten easier so much as survivors are not "as" OP as they were. Survivors were OP as sin when the game launched and it's taken them 4+ years to try to balance it out. For every killer buff there is a shadow nerf or survivor buff to compensate.
It sounds like the majority of your problems are bad randoms. If you are on PC I suggest turning off cross platform because almost all console survivors suck. I've been saying for over a year that BHVR needs to stop releasing new chapters and actually work out some of the games bugs. There are plenty. Id much rather they focus on game health instead of pumping out a killer that is buggy upon release and it worse than Legion.
BHVR, if you want more money from me than make something actually worth it. If The Twins were viable, bug free and had decent perks I would have paid for that. But what we got now, I don't even want to spend shards on this killer. They suck that much.
-
If people would stop buying them they wouldn't make them.
-
Yes. A few times.
One game I was Nurse and the survivor's accused me of hacking because I was blinking right on top of them. It was as if I could see them through walls. In fact I was able to see them through walls because I was running Nurse's Calling and they were healing.
The best was a survivor who actually admitted they were mistaken and was cool about it. I was playing as trapper on Thompson's. The one with the barn in the corner and the cow tree in the middle. 2 people were dead and 2 gens left. I was running Whispers and I was at the shack. Whispers was going off. The gen near that area was already complete. I think neither survivor was doing gens at this point. I think they were hoping one would get caught so they could find the hatch. I check all around the shack, nothing. I check the lockers inside the shack and nothing. I go downstairs to check every corner. Nothing and Whispers is still going off. I check 3 out of 4 lockers and nothing. On the final locker, there he was. Then in the end game chat he asked how did I know he was there. I explained how Whispers works and the fact that while I was checking the shack, Whispers was still on. So he had to be inside the shack because while I was checking everything he would have took off a long time ago if he wasn't in there.
Hell, I've been accused of hacking because I bumped into someone totally by accident. It was Ormond and I was Nurse. I hook someone and BBQ reveals someone in the opposite corner. So I blink through the hell house in the middle and I just happen to land on top of a Claudette. In the end game chat they said "How did you see me?" I said I didn't. I was going after someone else and ran into you by accident. Then he said "I'm Claudette. I'm invisible. The only way you could have seen me is if your hacking. REPORTED!!!!!!!!!!" That made me laugh.

The one day I played FT13th you know what happened? Every time a match loaded in half the campers left when they found out they weren't playing as Jason.
In this game I've had people quit because I was a killer they didn't like, I was using Franklins, I had an add on they thought was OP, they missed their DS, they got found first, they failed a mind game, they got tunneled, I got 3 stacks of DH and they couldn't find the totem. Hell I've had people quit because I hit them. You know what happens every time a survivor quits? The rest flame me in the end game chat for not going easy on them. If you don't like the DC penalty then play something else. I certainly won't miss you if your one of those people who quits whenever your losing.

I give that one survivor credit. Not many want to admit they were wrong.

Keys are not a mories counterpart, and mories aren't a keys counterpart, in any way shape or form.
In a way they are. Both speed up the objective for whichever side uses them. Moris help the killer get rid of the survivors faster. Keys help the survivors escape quicker.

It's not the first time the devs have ruined something before adjusting it's counter part. Remember when they reworked ruin they didn't touch tool boxes until a month later?

Yes u are right becuz of the difference in the intent. But survivors won't look at it like that. And thus will claim u were proxy camping. Regardless of intent. The motion is the same.
and this is why there are so many threads complaining about camping. The survivor's don't see the other end of the spectrum. They unhook, see the killer is upstairs and they assume he was sitting there waiting for the save. They don't consider the possibility that they made a mistake by rescuing too early. The killer wasn't far away or maybe the killer saw your tracks and came back. Which dev said your not allowed to hit someone who was pulled off a hook? Answer, no one.
Survivors, a word of advice. If your teammate isn't near stage 2 or about to die on the hook. It's okay to wait a bit just to make sure it's safe to make a rescue.
-
Personally I don't think the Twins should have released in their current state but the devs need a reason to either
A: Bring in new players
B: Try to draw back players that left

I'll agree 5 blinks and omega were too strong, but her base kit was fine. I had plenty of survivors making a fool out of me pre-nerf. It was never Nurse that was the problem, it's mostly to do with survivors refusing to change their playstyle to accommodate anything but ring-around-the-pallet.
I agree, Her add ons needed to go but her base kit was fine the way it was. Now her add ons are all crap. I want them to at least fix all her bugs that have been around since her rework. When I play Nurse it feels like I am fighting the games mechanics more than the survivors.

Thats Proxy camping.
I disagree. Camping is when you stay near the hook deliberately waiting for the save. I did not stick around with the intent of coming back. I left with the intent of resuming the hunt and the save was made while I was still nearby. It's not camping if you unhook in the killer's face.
