I can't speak for any killer other than myself. "IF" I face camp and hit you repeatedly until the entity takes you. Well you did something to deserve it.
-
Routing. I have a terrible habit of going where there are no pallets or vaults. I even run windows of opportunity at times to counter this.
360ing a chainsaw.

Right?! How the hell is there not anyone within 10 levels of my rank?
Probably because it's very easy for them to rank up, hard for them to derank and the ranking system itself is a joke.

It's not bubba's fault for over altruism. If bubba is the killer I make a mental note of where the basement is. So I know to go no where near it when he is chasing me.
-
I use it from time to time but I switch it out for other things. I like DH and I don't have too much of an issue with it when playing as killer. I just hate how inconsistent it is. There have been times it saved my life. Other times I press the button, I got hit anyway yet I am still exhausted. If the killer is Billy or Bubba I never get to use DH because of the chainsaw. Lately I've been running SB encase I'm working on a gen and a killer gets the drop on me. I'll even use lithe, balanced landing or even head on.
-
If you want to face more than the same 5 killers over and over again. Then stop asking the devs to nerf killers. Every time someone says "Spirit is OP! Plz Nerf". That doesn't mean facing spirit will be easier. That Spirit player will use the next meta killer in line. It means you will be facing even more Freddys, Deathslingers, Nurses, PHs.
You then say "Freddy is OP! Plz Nerf" Then you face more slingers, Nurses, PHs
You say "Deathslinger is OP! Plz Nerf" you face more Nurses and PHs
You say "Nurse is OP! Plz Nerf" you face only PHs
You last say "PH is OP! Plz Nerf" then you wonder why your que times are 20 mins long. No one wants to play killer at that point.

Have you stopped playing DBD?
Haven't played since covid started. That tells you how long a break I've been on and I've had plenty of time to play games. DBD isn't one of them. Even when the Twins released I didn't even turn on the game.
-
The Nurse rework was not meh. It affected her. Yes she is still top tier but she is zero fun to play as now. There's so many bugs with her blink that id rather play someone else. Her bugs have been her since her rework which was over a year ago and they still haven't addressed them. Which only further shows the devs cater to low lvl survivor players.
-
When the devs release a patch that was pretty obvious it was a bad idea.
-
Frustration doesn't make me want to play DBD. It makes me want to "play something else" :P
-
When survivors teabag at the exit gate. Only to realize I was running Blood Warden.

I have no problem with such an indicator in post game, though I doubt it will ever happen. You're right about the dodging problem if it was in the lobby.
I too wouldn't mind knowing I got my ass kicked by a swf "after" the match ended. But like you said they would never do it.
@Okapi said:
I mean why would they want to hide the fact you faced a SWF group or groups in the endgame screen? The match is already over so dodging isn't a concern and if according to the precious D A T A, groups are balanced, there's no reason not to.
It's not like every killer will start remembering the names of every SWF member just to later doge them in the slim chance they meet them again in a gaming session.
I think the reason they want to hide it is to deny us information. In many regards the player basis knows more about this game then the people who developed it. Their data claims swf is only like 2% but if we had an actual way of tracking who was in swf and who wasn't. That's more credit to our arguments. We could tally the number of matches we played in a day, add up how many were in swf and show evidence that their 2% is really really off.

A PC Nurse is very very different from a console Nurse.
-
I've had this game for over 3 years and I might have run into 2 people who were certainly hacking. I have seen a lot of questionable things but not enough to justify submitting a report. I'm not saying DBD has no hackers but IMO majority of the reports made are either
A: people who don't understand the game and think someone is hacking
or
B: A sore loser who is salty.
-
I thought he was weak when they released him but I'm happy to say I was wrong. He has some pretty good mobility. Depending on the loop his power can end chases. The only issue I have with Blight is when I'm trying to bounce off something. I bounce off things when I don't want too and other times I don't bounce when I want too. It's like certain debris requires a direct hit to bounce while others will bounce no matter the angle.

I've just started playing Ghost Face and have had a mix of good and bad games with him, but your tips here have given me some insight into how to play him a little better, so thank you!
For tips of playing "as" GF I suggest tossing in some perks like whispers, discordance, sloppy+Nurses Calling, save the best for last.
Whispers when at tier 3 will give you a 32 meter bubble. If someone is inside that bubble the perk lights up. When patrolling gens if the perk isn't lite up then there is no one nearby. If your moving to a gen and it lights up that means someone is there. Thing is your TR is also 32 meters. So if you run to a gen, see whispers light up, pop your power and you can try to sneak up on someone.
Discordance is just a nice way of catching 2 people working on a gen at the same time to get some double stalking.
Sloppy butcher makes them take longer to heal. Less time repairing. Nurses Calling lets you see them while they are healing. Very good for finding injured people when stealthed.
STBFL is always good on an M1 killer.
Obviously any gen slow down perks are helpful.
-
Equip spine chill so he doesn't get the drop on you. When working on a gen constantly have your camera on a swivel. If he is using his power you won't hear his terror radius. GF can lean around corners and stalk you. If he looks at you long enough you can be one shot downed. If you are exposed your picture at the bottom of the screen will have a red cross hair over it. There's also an audio cue when someone is exposed. I suggest sprint burst encase he sneaks up on you. You can try to get enough distance to reach a pallet before he hits you.
Looking at GF when he is stealthed will slowly kick him out of it. Denying him his power. He has to be in the center of your screen to start revealing him and you can't lose track of him for even a second or you have to start over. When he is stealthed. If your looking at him or break him out of stealth, he will get a notification of your location. So if you are trying to hide from him try not to look at him. My suggestion is when you are being chased by GF treat him like Mikey. Constantly block line of sight to deny him his stalking. Either look backwards to reveal him or just keep blocking LoS and hope a teammate reveals him. If GF is up close staring right at you DO NOT TRY to break him out of stealth. Often he will expose you before you reveal him. I see too many survivors challenging him to a staring contest then they rage quit when they screwed up. The closer he is to you it feels like it is harder to reveal him. I can't really explain it but I find the farther away he is the easier it is to keep the center of the screen on him. When he is up close I tend to move my center off him when making adjustments.
Be warned. If he stared at you for a good while but did not expose you then he leaves you alone. You are in danger! Odds are he 99%ed you and is planning to one shot you during a chase. He can pop his power, stalk you for a split second to expose you and then hit you before you can break him out of it. Getting hit by GF resets the stalk he has built up. So if you were not exposed but he hit you then you have zero stalk built up. Often if I sneak up on 2 people working on the same gen I will stalk both of them. Usually getting both really high then when they split I will expose one. Later in the match when I run into the other I can pop my power and one shot them.

I think gen regression is completely trivial in red ranks once the killer learns the mechanics.
Unless I have pop or a gen is almost done, I don't kick gens anymore. The regression is trivial and the survivors can just touch it and the regression stops.
-
I wouldn't say ruin+undying is a must have at high MMR but some form of gen slow down is. Not necessarily ruin+undying but corrupt intervention, pgtw, sloppy butcher for longer heals ect. Like some have already said, ruin only works if you can push them off the gens. Some killers with low mobility struggle with that.
-
Play against a trapper while using OoO.
-
How do you break something that didn't really work to begin with?
-
A gun range with zero obstructions. Survivors on one side and the deathslinger on the other :P
-
Killer=Whispers. I can't operate without it. Being able to know when an area is empty saves me a lot of time.
Survivor=BT. Anytime I take it off I end up in a scenario where I wish I brought it.

Hard disagree. It punishes the farmed team mate more than anyone, and it was not a bad play on their part since they have no say if they get farmed from the hook or not.
When were those experiments for anti camp/tunnel penalties? Can you give an example on that?
Also a survivor unhooking me in your face without BT, doesn't force you to tunnel me. You still make that decision on your own alone.
Even if I choose to tunnel you, there's nothing that says I'm breaking any rules. If I hooked you, someone without BT saved you right in front of me, your tasting the dirt again. I usually go for the rescuer because I suspect BT and DS. If I know the saver doesn't have BT then yes I will down you because I know your not going anywhere. Then I will chase the person who saved you. That way you have to waste UB if you have it or someone else has to drop what they are doing to save you. When I hook the saver, if your still on the ground, I'm putting you back on the hook. It's not cheating, it's not toxic, it's playing killer efficiently. Stop blaming the killer for your bad team mates.

The devs practically encourage toxic behavior by being silent on the issue, because those are the people who buy the game. An online bully simulator is more appealing than an actual multiplayer horror game. It's why a lot of people buy CoD, because they want to use the game to ruin someone's day.
They also encourage it by setting double standards. If I was to do something unsportsmanlike and somebody reported it the devs might reprimand me. If a twitch streamer who is constantly doing shady stuff but brings in a lot of viewers, they will look the other way because that person is bringing in more money for them. By letting that streamer get away with that play style all their viewers are thinking "This must be allowed because he's doing it and they haven't banned him yet"
-
I'm tired of survivors who get hit by the killer and think he is cheating.
-
@lowiq said:
Then don't buy it. Nobody is forcing you?
The issue is someone will pay that much for it and the devs will then sell the next skin for more money. Have you played an MMO game before? Do you know how an auction house works? Someone puts an item up there. They look up what the last 20 have sold for. They see someone bought the last item for say $15. So they put it on the auction house for $16 bucks. Someone buys it. Someone else puts an item on the AH and see's the last item sold for $16. So they put theirs up for $17 and it just builds and builds.
It doesn't matter if you don't buy it. Someone will pay what they are asking and when they release a skin you actually want, the price will be higher than what you feel like paying for. That is the problem with microtransactions. There's always somebody with more money than brains who pays whatever they want without asking "Is this really worth that much?"

I appreciate the seasonal good wishes; the same back to you. I do want to say that tunneling and camping isn't always (or even often) a preference of the Killer. When you mention you were the only one to die, and the other three got out, it made me think of how many times I, when playing Killer, have seen Tunneling/Camping created by the Survivors themselves. In short, the people that unhook you only take the first step, but not the rest. A true safe rescue requires more than pulling you off a hook. It sometimes means making sure that the returning Killer goes after them, and/or taking protection hits. This is very well explained in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noLG0TucFGs
This is a new one and bears directly on our conversation, so I figured I'd post it up. I play Killer a great deal and I can tell you without hesitation that I rarely camp or tunnel because I want to do it. I simply go for the possible targets. If the only available target is the one I recently hooked, I'm not just going to shrug and say, "rats." If I have an equal choice, I'll go for the new target. I think that serves all parties better. But if only one option is presenting itself, I'm going to take what fate has placed in my path.
This video should be in the tutorial for survivors.

Dude, are you seriously comparing this video game to human rights violations? You have serious issues and a profound lack of context. If you are unhappy with the game, don't play it. Don't compare your freedom to choose which games you play to the actual suffering of people who do not have a choice.
I would just stop arguing with Mugombo. You've brought up many valid points and they just keep trying to get the last word in. They are clearly a troll and won't listen to reason. They only have 33 posts. They are either new and don't know what they are talking about or created an account just to complain about something.

4.
Considering how bad the frame rate on console is for this game. This statement is rather accurate.
-
I tried using shadowborn and I barely noticed a difference in my FOV. My goto Nurse build is a gen stopping perk, a tracking perk, MYC and another perk of choice. MYC is pretty good on Nurse because she can somewhat cover the distance to leave the hook and get back in time to find the rescuer.
Sometimes I'll run ruin+undying, MYC and BBQ. Or PGTW, Whispers, MYC and franklins.
-
Honorable mention. STBFL. So many killers are M1 and it saves them time.
-
I don't think we will. Usually if something is powerful enough to shift the meta, it's too powerful when combined with the current meta.

People say he’s op. Yet nurse is higher then him in the tier list yet no on cries because of nurse it’s just there are more Freddy players then nurse
Survivors said Freddy was OP when he first came out. Killers said he was weak. In that regard I believe the killers were correct. Today however I think the issue falls down to most people just don't know how to play as him or play against him.
-
When I started playing the game years ago I tried to find uses for Insidious. Such as kicking a gen, walking around a wall and waiting. The issue I had was most people either saw me or didn't come back to the gen. If your waiting for something to happen there's a chance nothing will come to you. If your hunting people there's a better chance something will happen. It kind of like when you play CoD and you try to actually snipe. By snipe I mean find a good spot, lay on your belly and shoot people across the map. I just flat out got more encounters if I was running around looking for people instead of hoping they would come to me.
As for Mori's, coming from a killer main, I agree they had to be changed but I don't like how they changed them. They feel pretty much useless to bring now unless you want a cool animation instead of 3rd hooking someone. It reminds me of Old MoM. It had to be changed but the way they changed it made you never use it.
-
@KingFrost said:
The only nerf Freddy needs is for BT to work on him.
That's about the only thing Id want and I'm even a killer main. I'm usually against nerfing Freddy in any way because of how bad he was at launch and they still nerfed him to please the survivor community. Having BT work when your asleep I feel isn't asking for much. Or just make BT work off the killer's proximity to the hook instead of inside their TR.
-
From my understanding, it first looks for people of similar rank. If it can't find any it expands the range. Due to several issues there's just not enough people of equal rank. (Also the ranking system itself is crap) If someone is waiting long enough the MM will toss out all logic+fairness and throw the first person available into a match.
-
Do not concern yourself with the opinion of the sheep. They will whine no matter how you play.
-
Patch 1.9.2
I will leave it at that. The worse part is it was the people who made this game that thought that was a good idea. They didn't try to nerf something else to counter balance what they did. They flat out reverted that patch. When they completely undo something instead of changing something else to cancel it out. That's when you know they screwed up.

Killer is the easiest it has ever been. Let alone that you are saying that DBD is a competitive game (it really isnt, it is a casual game, but some people seem to think it is next level e-sports) and are complaining that the most broken thing on the Killers side finally got nerfed.
Killer has gotten easier since it's release but bear in mind. This game was a nightmare for killers when it came out. I remember the days of stacking exhaustion perks, BNP, insta flashlight and syringes, infinites, old MoM. Just because it's gotten better from being absolute ######### does not make it easy.
As for "DBD is not a competitive game" that is a load of crap. Look up the definition of competitive game.
"Competitive games are those in which players play against one another and where one player winning means another player loses. Two player games are often competitive, with a distinct win-or-lose outcome. ... Competitive games may involve multiple competing players or teams."
It's certainly not Esports level but it is a competitive game. There is no denying it. This game fits the definition above. There are 2 sides and someone loses and someone wins. Even if it meets the devs idea of 2k and 2 escape. Someone still lost.

I described something very different in my post tho. I'll never accuse a good player of hacking, since when you see a video of a legion throwing hatchets it's easy to tell the difference
One double BP event I had a Dwight that was ALWAYS sprinting. It was pretty damn obvious he was cheating. I played like normal going after the other 3. This was before the EGC. The gates are open and he is running circles around me. I was trapper. He stepped in a trap and I hooked him. Poetic justice /kefka laugh
-
I've had the game for maybe 3 years and I've only seen 2 people who were certainly hacking. I have seen many many players that were suspicious but not enough to make me think they were hacking. Like killers who hook someone and they immediately run to another survivor across the map. Despite not having BBQ or anything that would give them that information. They could have just been lucky but some matches I've seen this happen every single time they hooked someone. Like I said, suspicious but not enough to file a report.

Well, I wouldn't call it hell to play before. Maybe hella fun. I put in the bulk of my hours before 2018 with 1k in Billy alone, and I was averaging 3+k back then too. This was when I was slugging everyone to ######### and getting my 500 consecutive kill streak with him. Those were fun times. If I considered it hell, I would've quit a long time ago.
And I don't know why you brought up survivor. To me they're different games. I was talking about how devs made changes to make playing killer easier, because you insinuated that devs don't try to make that part of the game better-- and I don't find that true at all.
I'm talking when the game first came out. When stacking exhaustion perks were a thing, infinites, syringes, BNPs and stuff. It wasn't fun for killer in those days. They call them the dark times for a reason.

It definitely hinders killers, but it still doesn't stop me from getting my 3+ kill average. Maybe it was too easy to track so they fixed it, or maybe they introduced new geometry to the map to cause it. One thing for sure- I definitely don't take a stance that devs don't look out for killers because, overall, they have made the killer role a LOT easier since then.
Well killer's job is getting easier but many forget it was absolutely hell before. I still would not call killer easy. It's gotten better but I still think survivor is easier. Unless playing with randoms, then it sucks.

It would be nice if they brought back how scratch marks were from a couple years ago. They broke somehow after a patch and it's never been the same since. At least I thought they broke, but maybe it was done on purpose. :}
It's a bug that hinders killer so they won't touch it until there's a killer shortage. I'm still waiting for them to fix the bugs introduced to Nurse since her rework.
-
The only time I ignore a survivor is if they are afk or they are trying to get me to chase them. If it's the later then they are probably a god looper and my time is better spent going after someone else. If they keep trying and I can get a hit in I will.
