  • What do you mean "yet"? They probably won't change them period.

I main blight on console... I am painfully aware of the poor optimization.

They told us about 2 years ago that they're targeting 60fps for all available platforms. You can clearly see how that has not been met if you hop on any last gen console.

It is downright disgraceful that the devs have ignored these issues for so long.

Console DBD was just a cash grab. The same as the mobile game.

  • TL:DR

My only request is we get Nemesis from the original RE3. The remake one did not hit the mark for me. Mr X in RE2 remake was more like what he should have been. Popping up out of no where with no warning. You hear his foot steps and your paranoid to go into the next room. They really screwed up Nemesis by making all his encounters scripted.

I'd love to buy a PC and continue playing dbd, as I have before but have over 4k hours on Xbox and am not going to be starting from scratch. When and if cross progression comes in for consoles, I'll be ditching it asap. It's just awful and they genuinely aren't doing anything to improve performance on current gen.

I feel the same way about Monster Hunter World. If I could keep my progress id buy the PC version.

  • Console dbd is really bad. I bought the game for my nephew's xbox one. He asked me to lvl up Nurse for Nurse's Calling and blinking was hard. This was even before her rework. No one actually knows how different the game is until you've played both versions.

Welcome to the master race >.>

Well, for me is the worst, i got her for the perks but she's still lv 40 and haven't played her since release

I didn't even get the killer for the perks. I even have enough shards to unlock them and I don't want them. That's how I feel about this killer.

  • The perk broke the game when it released. The fact that it was introduced into the game at all makes me question a lot of things. It had to be nerfed but I feel they nerfed it too hard. Now I wouldn't even call it niche. The odds of it coming into play are so abysmal your better off bringing something else. I don't know how the perk could be reworked that would make it usable and fair. I think were better off just completely changing it to something else. I certainly don't want it to go back to what it was.

  • SWF was not here when the game started. That was added later.

Personally I wouldn't mind if we were told someone was in a swf "after" a match ended. That way I would know if it was a coordinated team. We can't be told it's a swf before the match starts because people would just lobby dodge.

One of the strongest killers, Freddy, is behind a paywall. Best perks in the game, BBQ and DS, are behind a paywall. And don't tell me about the shrine: if you want to get them in a definite amount of time, you have to buy DLC. So yeah, the game is both grind- and pay-to-win.

Nurse is still considered to be the strongest killer and she is free. Huntress is up there and she is also free. You don't need DS or BBQ to win. There are a lot of tracking perks. Some I say are even better than BBQ. If DS is the only reason you escaped then you need to practice being a better survivor.

Now Ruin+Undying, PGTW and Corrupt Intervention on the other hand. Yeah those are DLC and practically needed at higher ranks. A 4k can be done but it is certainly difficult. Survivors would have to screw up or really get out played.

Not really IMO. I am doing fine with Corrupt as my only Gen-Slowdown.

It is not "Just apply pressure", but many Killers are just bad.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1855368#Comment_1855368

Exactly. Corrupt forces Survivors to look for Gens, if they cannot do Gens, they will more likely find Ruin. So just running Corrupt and Ruin together is not really the best idea.

A lot of players, both sides, aren't very good at the game. Be nice if they kept their balance ideas to themselves until they learned.

  • I'm waiting for a survivor main to say

    "Just apply pressure"

Then don't use them. My build consists of WGLF, Bond, Proof Thyself and Elodies locker perk (forgot the name). Usually I end up with the most points. Sometimes even more than what the killer got.

My survivor build is usually wglf for bp, bt for saves, an exhaustion perk and a healing perk. If I have a med kit I switch that out for something else. I don't run DS because I feel it is bad for the game. I actually don't have an issue with BT because that's more for your teammates benefit, not mine.

  • Looking at the killer causes some sort of debuff. I wonder if that would make the killer effective at looping? Most people look backwards when running to see what the killer is doing. If they look at him too many times they get hit by some status effect. Sounds fun but I bet the survivors will say "OP! Plz Nerf!!!!"

I don't even know, but they promised for a loooong time before coming to live. There are also things like console optimization and DC bots that they have promised since 2019 and still aren't in game.

Considering their primary focus seems to be making maps darker and adding breakable walls, I wouldn't expect anything soon...

Well, I totally agree with you. But I must say, I recently had the misfortune of running into a facecamping Leatherface. The first hooked survivor (who died on his first hook, ofc) had Kindred, so we all knew we had to leave him (he was in the basement, and the killer was hiding where the chest usually spawns) and kept working on gens. In the end, I completed the last gen, while the other survivor was downed. The killer came after me and, guess what? He had NoeD. I died on my first hook, without ever being hit other than in that occasion. (Map was Lery's, not very clear for totem spawns). The thing is, such things should not have a reason not to do them, as someone else suggests. Those things should be punished, outside of certain instances. You are effectively cutting out a player from a match, much sooner than it should happen. It literally means that you are helding the game hostage for that player, until he dies.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1853801#Comment_1853801

People who are half decent at playing don't usually run Whispers, though. And even if that is a thing, I don't really see the issue. What a killer should be doing is stopping gens from being repaired. To do that, he wants to have as few survs on gens as possible. If he doesn't manage to find said survivor in a short time (which is already kinda ridiculous, since this game is not really built around stealth. Although it is possible, it is never gonna fully work) he should move onto some gens. That means there will be one hooked survivor + at least a rescuer = 2 people not working on gens, for the time it takes to unhook + heal. As much as SWF is concerned, I always wanted to see it reduced to a max of 2 people, but still. SWF and camping are different things. SWF is hard to face (although not always), more challenging and sometimes frustrating. Camping is just cheap and toxic. SWF is making things hard for the killer, not having him in a corner, unable to move. If that was a thing, you could get away with the comparison. But it really isn't. There is a reason why one of the categories killers get points for is called "Hunting" and not "Staring at a survivor you hooked until he dies, because you know you won't be able to get a kill otherwise".

Of course, EGC camping is another thing. Still kinda cheap, but not the same thing.

Slightly off topic but I have to disagree about "People who are half decent never use Whispers"

It is an amazing tracking tool. Better than BBQ. It's on all the time. No special requirements to get use out of it and there is no way to hide from it. Most of all it tells you when an area is empty so you know not to waste time searching. Doubles for trapper because if no one is around they probably won't see you plant that trap. Unless OoO but that's another issue.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1852161#Comment_1852161

I believe that survivors doing gens has nothing to do with a killer deciding that facecamping is the way. It has to do with the fact that he wants to have it easy, killing a survivor on the first hook, much like having old Mori available.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1852467#Comment_1852467

The easy solution would be to have the timer stop if the killer is in a certain range and not in chase. I can't see how that would be severely abusable. If the survivor being chased keeps looping close the the hooked guy, the timer will still go on (as I said, timer does not stop if in chase). If the killer chooses to stay there, he will gain nothing, as the timer will stop. If the survivor keeps going back and forth, not only will he be wasting time, he will also start a chase, and then another, and then another. This way, survivors will not get camped as easily, but killer who have to rely on camping because they aren't able to keep up can still do it.

Face camping only works if the survivors allow it. 1 death for 3-4 gens is not a fair trade. I feel the issue is the survivors and killers are both inexperienced. Most survivors don't understand when to stop waiting for the killer to leave the hook and do gens. Killers don't realize it is better to hook and go hunting instead of staying at that one hook waiting for them to die. There are killers that face camp to be ######### but I believe the majority of face camping killers are newbs. If more survivors did gens and escaped eventually the newb killers will learn. The killer isn't getting any bp or pips. Provided face camping is countered. If the killer ends up getting 4k because of over altruism then they assume "This seems to be working. I'll keep doing it"

  • I only use BBQ if I want more BP or I have a very mobile killer. Any other time I prefer Whispers for tracking.

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

EGC was a huge change that ONLY helps killers. You can open the gates instantly if you choose. You don't need any more help.

How does a killer open the gates? Like what buttons do they push if they are on PC? I ask because I haven't had to do it before and one match I was being generous. 2 people DC'ed near the start so I went easy on the remaining 2. I tried to open the gates but I didn't know how.

I sort of hope the game goes F2P like Deathgarden just so I can witness it get absolutely demolished by cheaters and bots.

Maybe then the devs will consider a better anti-cheat or a report system that doesn't require a full 5-page essay and autobiography.

If this game went F2P and got assaulted by hackers. I don't think BHVR would fix it. I think they would say "Pretty good job so far" and try to make another game.

  • @Ricky_Ray said:

There needs to be a camping tunneling penalty but nothing is being done about it. I recently got the Nintendo Switch version of the game and the graphics look like I'm play a PS2 and that's the most camping I've ever experienced. I think in the tutorial there needs to be training on not face camping because of a no bloodpoint penalty or something.

They tried a camping penalty on a PTB once and it was being abused by the survivors.

  • Sounds like that pig wasn't very experienced. If anything you don't tunnel the person with a trap on their head. You go after someone else so you can put a trap on their head.

  • I was prestiging my Huntress and I tried using all of her good add ons/offerings to build up some bp. I had so many survivors send me hate messages in the end game chat for using iri heads. I never use them and I had like 8. Didn't want them to go to waste.

I'm most concerned about Plague having an abysmal pick rate. Riddled with bugs, blood point system issues, being screwed over BAD by dedicated servers what with vile and corrupt purge not registering hits etc. and they've said NOTHING about addressing her issues or helping her at all.

Nevermind her questionable power design. I just stopped playing her altogether because it's beyond painful having to walk to a corner of the map a mile away from survivors to get Corrupt Purge. Gens genuinely fly by and she can't actually pressure anything she's imo the most unfun killer to play right now but yeah it's fine. Clown and Demo getting reworks, Freddy getting changed and everyone wants Legion + Nurse changes asap but I have to bring up Plague because I feel like she's falling more and more and the only reason she maintains any semblance of positive stats is from the hardcore Plague mains who are just really good killer players and can get a snowball rolling with her (She is a snowball killer after all but that probably messes with consistency of stats).

I just wish behavior would acknowledge her but they seem radio silent about Plague it's like they don't even care.

I feel the same about Nurse. She's been buggy since her rework a year ago and now she's too frustrating to play. Not a word about fixing her bugs. Plague must have it worse.

Yea it does take away from your point, if you can't give an example of an absolutely terrible change that literally nobody liked in the past three years than your entire point is moot, it's embarrassing that you can't see that.

    Okay, more recent then.

The Twins. I don't see anyone who likes them. Except survivors

The fact that your example of them doing a patch that "nobody likes" is from almost three years ago is hilarious.

Just because it happened 3 years ago doesn't take away from my point. The fact that the people who made this game thought that was a good idea speaks volumes.

Hmm. I think that's an interesting grey area. I am all for Decisive doing what it was intended to do - stop tunneling. I think if you blatantly walked for 10 seconds and got a gen you get what you deserve. Trying to duck the Killer in a locker sounds... hmmm. Nah.

I like the idea of keeping the Halloween scene in-game where Myers enters the closet and Laurie sticks him.

I just don't like how someone pulled off a hook gets on a gen. I happen to walk by and they run straight into a locker and start singing "Can't touch this"

Unless I'm playing trapper. Then I'll just trap the locker and let them stay in there :P

Yep, she is, but apparently they know enough from the community not to buff her.

Just wish they would consider other aspects beyond what "the stats" tell them.

Agreed. Their statement about OoO is just garbage. "Statistics show not many people use it" Well yeah, that's because only 1 person in a swf needs to equip it.

You can't appease everyone so being upset by some decisions that others like isn't a valid reason for wanting the game sold to another company.

Thinking the bugs would be fixed by an entirely new team is exactly the kind of thinking I'd expect from this forum, lmao.

There's "can't appease everyone" and then there"s "can't appease anyone".

The devs have made some changes that one side didn't like but it was for the good of the game as a whole. Then there's decisions that no one was happy about and made the game worse. /cough1.9.2cough

A new team might actually be a good idea. Get a fresh pair of eyes on this issue.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1852190#Comment_1852190

It buys entirely too much Survivor time for something that goes off so easily. The duration right now is insane.

To the OP, I am not sure if ALL grabs are fair. A window grab while in a chase certainly isn't, but a generator grab is probably fair game.

I think a locker grab should also be fair game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I still hate the fact that OoO, one of the most antifun perks in the game, is not getting changed because "stats". Same thing with Legion, one of the most underwhelming killers to play as and one of the most boring to go against.

It really makes me lose faith on the balance decisions of this game.

Isn't Nurse at like the lowest pick rate? So by their logic does that mean the strongest killer needs to be buffed?

  • @HellDescent said:

At least we'd see a little more fixes here and there. They are already on par with monetization

    Loot boxes!!!

    :P

  • @Seanzu said:

Yea because selling the game to an entirely new team who has absolutely no idea what bloodlust is, or ruin, etc etc will surely make this game better.

Considering some of the decisions BHVR has been making lately. Selling it to a new team is getting more appealing every patch. At least the new team will admit they don't know what they are doing and actually do something with our feedback.

  • I believe if more survivors ran kindred and learned how to do gens then there would be less killers face camping.

  • This is why I don't trust their data. The killers with the highest kill rates. When I see that I don't assume "That killer is over performing". I ask "How good are the survivors that killer is going against?". It's one of those is he good or does everyone else suck?

Personally I think they need to revamp the entire ranking system.

  • Ever since Spinechill works on stealth Myers I don't see many jump scare Myers anymore. Shame because I found those moments of horror actually enjoyable in a horror game.

  • Even with BT I don't think you should unhook in front of the killer. If you can help it.

  • The same threads and arguments over and over.

  • I think the lesson is if you find a green key, don't pick it up. It's more trouble than it's worth :P

  • What do I believe is wrong with the game? The people making the decisions don't play the game enough.

  • I don't think the match making can ever be fixed. Either it pairs people by actual skill and this requires a long ass que time. Or we get faster que times with zero regard for fairness.

  • IMO twitch streamers tend to be extra salty.

As a killer they are the first ones to grab your attention to try to show off their looping skills. Then they rage quit when they fail a mind game. That's if the match lasts that long. I've had twitch streamers rage quit when they found out what killer I was or they quit because they were found first.

As a survivor they aren't doing gens. They are more concerned with putting on a show for their 4 viewers. Instead of doing the objective they are following the killer, waiting for him to make a down so they can try to make a flashlight save. While some can argue that is being a team player but they could have completed a gen by the time the killer downed someone. Even if you got a flashlight save you are still prolonging the game by having 2 people not doing the objective.

  • I think in one of the dev streams they brought up the question of extra objectives. They said they don't want to give survivors more things to do for fear of making the killers more powerful. During the hallowed blight event(the real one, not that BS thing they gave us in 2020) there were pestule flowers around the map. You could harvest nectar from them to unlock special cosmetics. During that event killer felt enjoyable. Gens weren't flying within 3 mins. It felt like you could play any killer and have a good time. You weren't on the clock as much because people wanted the goop.

Personally I think some more objectives would be a good idea. I think they just don't want to do the work to make it happen.

  • If your team unhooks you before I even get to walk away, that's your teams fault

If your saved and I see nothing but your blood trail. I'm going after you again because no one else tried to grab my attention. Your teams fault

If I hooked you and someone is looping me near you, I'm not leaving. Your teams fault

If your injured and someone right next to you is healthy. I'm going after you because it is more efficient for me.

I can't speak for all killers but I can speak for myself. If I tunnel or camp anyone. It's because it is the most efficient use of my time. Regardless of my motives, the devs have stated there is nothing wrong with camping, tunneling. These are just words survivor mains made up to complain when they get caught.

    @EvilJoshy

Can you convince people to switch out Camping, Tunneling and Slugging?

Oh wait, they're always there. Nvm I thought they were slottable perks.

Those aren't perks. You don't have to remove something to bring those. Unlike hunch. There's actually a couple good survivor perks but they are over shadowed by the meta. But you probably wouldn't know that since you sound like someone who only equips what streamers tell you.

  • Can you convince people to switch out adren, dh, bt, ds for hunch?

  • From a perk stand point. I suggest David because of Were gonna live forever. It really cuts down on the grind for BP. If BP or perks are not an issue than I suggest anyone small or dark. It's just flat out harder to see those survivors.
