  • If we can't get THE Jason then why would we settle for a knock off? Besides I kinda don't want Jason in here if he is going to be another M1 killer that can easily be bullyed.

  • I may have crash twice in the 4 years I've had this game. Id rather a handful of people get slapped with a 5 min wait then thousands of people dc'ing every time they get downed first and rage quit with no penalty.

Still have nightmares of original MoM.

DS in its current state still gives me nightmares.

Don't forget that Ruin is now a late game hex game perk.

Or that the meta has remained the same since the game's release with nothing to really shake the gameplay up.

Hell, it's not even the balance or lack of it that is one of my greatest pet peeves. It's the fact the game literally does not function properly and breaks more and more with every content patch. Doesn't even matter if the game is balanced if it physically does not function properly.

The whole "If it's so easy, then you do it" is a strawman argument. As I always say, one does not need to be Gordon Ramsay to know that toast when it's burnt tastes bad.

Let's not forget patch 1.9.2 That was the day I lost faith in BHVR.

That's reductive. Perks provide awareness, help in chase, slowdown, and second chance just to name a few.

Name 1 2nd chance perk for killer that cannot be completely countered by the survivors.

Asymmetrical games often die. I still miss Evolve Stage 2. The game has gotten better but it's also gone backwards at times. However if not for the constant DLC, license characters and the fact there's hardly any competition I don't think DBD would have lasted as long as it has.

  • I think most killer mains would want to get rid of Laurie because of DS and OoO.

    Blendette is a close second.

No thanks. I get enough trash talk and insults from angry Survivors from the PC players, I don't need it from console players too.

Now go make me some macaroni.

I'm kinda in the same boat. A friend has the game for xbox and asked me to lvl up Nurse to 40 for him so he could get NC. I got more hate messages from that platform than I do on PC. At least on PC they can't send me messages without friending me. On Xbox you can send messages to anyone so long as you know their gamertag.

OP it would be nice to compliment people on other platforms but the amount of ######### on this game out number the good people. By a large margin.

  • I mean a bully group isn't as bad as a gen rush group. That's like saying a broken finger isn't as bad as a broken rib. They both suck.

  • If they get rid of keys I'll gladly give up moris(except Devour Hope). I only bring moris if I see a key or I have a daily/ritual. It always confuses me when people complain about getting a Mori through Devour Hope. Like the OP said, you have to work for that. It's a hex perk(no explanation should be needed) They get a notification at 3 stacks that DH is on the map. The killer needs 5 stacks to mori someone and it discourages face camping.

  • If the skins this year aren't earnable at a reasonable rate than majority of players will be grinding other games. No doubt some people, or a lot of people, will fork over the cash to buy the new skins but it will still upset most of the community. I'll probably be playing Overwatch this month since their Halloween content can be earned by simply playing the game.

If No.3 is true then I'd love to hear arguments from people who think the devs aren't survivor biased

Oh I'm sure "someone" in here will deny this. There's always at least one lol

Play killer with bbq and it wont be grindy...

The grind sucks but it has gotten better since the games release. We have BBQ and WGLF to cut it in half. Multiple perks no appear at higher lvls in the bloodweb. Before 2 perks might appear and you could only pick one.

  • If you think about it this game puts extreme importance on how fast you can down someone and chase another person. The sooner you can hook someone before 3 gens pop the better. Usually at the start of a match say

    4 survivors are on gens

You chase someone. 3 survivors on gens(This is where most of the survivor's objective gets done)

You hook someone. 2 survivors on gens, 1 going for the save and 1 on a hook

You chase someone else. 1 survivor on gens, 1 going for the save, 1 on hook and 1 being chased.

The moment someone is hooked and you begin another chase you go from 3 people on gens to 1. In ideal circumstances. While there can be more survivors on the same gen or people might not be going for the save but you see my point. This is why killers whose powers help them in chase or have high mobility tend to be meta. They can down people faster or they can get to people quickly to begin another chase.

  • @Golden_spider said:

Possibly due to the fact it's a perk for a Licensed Character so they can't just immediately go messing with it (excluding the chance it has a bug/glitch associated with it) without some sort of approval.

It didn't take them long to fix MoM after they learned it broke the game. It did take them a long time to rework Freddy but he wasn't game breaking once people learned how to fight him.

  • I mean, no one is making that person stream their games. It's kind of a draw back. If people complain about stream sniping I'm sure the devs response would be "Stop streaming"

  • A game that stays scary is subnautica.

Your underwater for almost the entire game.

In the dark areas you can't see what's around you most of the time.

If there's something big nearby you will hear it but won't see it. It's not scripted so it can surprise you each time.

You don't really have weapons so you can't kill it.

This game it's not scary because survivors have too many ways of getting away or getting back up after being caught.

If killers would dodge any SWF, then that must mean they don't want to play against something. I remember the last time nobody wanted to play against something, it was reworked into current Legion

If killers would dodge any SWF, then that must mean they don't want to play against something

That reminds me of the people who justify lobby dodging because it's a killer they dont like lol

  • Do people forget how horrible Freddy was when he first released? I remember the days of hitting someone with your power and they opened the exit gates before they fell asleep.

  • If killers knew they were going up against a swf they would obviously lobby dodge. However I wouldnt mind being told it was a swf "AFTER" the match is over so I know that group was in one.

  • A: No. If the gates are open and the killer has no means of downing another survivor before they get to the exit then there is no way for them to secure a kill.

B: Also no. It used to be that way and people saved without care because they were both safe. The way it is now you can at least trade hooks.

C: I actually agree with this one. I do hate how certain killers can completely bypass BT and tunnel the unhooked. Id rather it go off proximity to the hook rather than TR.

BT doesn't need any buffs. The issue is too many killers are face camping. The reason, I think, is because too many survivors fail to counter it. There's already penalties for face camping. That killer won't pip and will get hardly any bloodpoints. If survivors learned to do the gens and get out, that killer will not rank up. Eventually common sense will kick in and that killer will say "This isn't working anymore. I guess I better try actually hunting" If survivors keep sacrificing themselves to save that person the killer is going to keep getting 4ks and continue doing what they're doing because your making it work for him.

Til your one of those people getting punished for no reason while almost all the rest just suicide.

Oh, and by the way, it's not a 2 minute ban, it starts at 5 and escalates rapidly. And it takes about 24 hours to reset. So a single crash a day could lead to a day-long ban at the end of the week.

The penalties are stupid and don't actually work. If you split the difference between DC's and suicides, that number won't justify the number of people that get screwed over.

Ive DC'ed by accident and Ive only had a 1 min ban at times. Then I'm good for the whole day. If you lose connection enough times that you start with a 5 mins ban maybe you should get a better internet provider or play something else.

  • Id rather have the dc penalty with a few people get slapped with a 2 min ban than have thousands of people dc for no reason and get away with it.

  • Mori=everyone depips

    Key=killer depips, survivors pip?

  • As trapper when someone with DS comes to me, irritates me enough to get me to chase them, I down them, eat the DS and they step in a trap. I pick them up and they rage quit.

Disagree as a console player. Hitting a "Great" result for us is like rolling a set of dice half the time.

That sounds like another example of a poorly thought out port. On PC ever since they nerfed ruin survivors dont need to hit great skill checks to finish a gen now. It's why I hate investing the time to learn something and then the devs make it irrelevant.

  • @OmegaXII said:

Too bad there are always people who ruin this by saying ggez

Yeah to me saying ez is secretly saying "you suck"

  • I got my video recording program hot keyed to 2 buttons. So if I see something like that I can quickly turn it on. Usually if it happens once it happens again in the same match.

  • Any Hex perk+Undying :P

    Sloppy Butcher+Bloodhound

    Brutal Strength+Enduring

    Agitation+Iron Grasp

    BBQ+Iron Maiden

  • I have to put this out there. Was that Kate a streamer? From my experience those are the ones that tend to do stupid stuff and try to get the killer's attention. They want to show off their chase skills to put on a good show and if they get caught they are usually the first ones to rage quit.

When I play trapper this happens to me a lot. I hook someone and I leave. Someone saves that person and then that guy I hooked deliberately comes to me. I down them again, pick them up and they DS. As I am stunned they hop a nearby vault, step in a trap and it is a guaranteed rage quit. Then someone calls me a tunneler. Nevermind the fact that survivor made a deliberate choice to come to the killer.

  • TL:DR

Survivors hate PH because he can deny them some of their most powerful perks. DS+BT. He also makes vaults unsafe. Survivors aren't happy with a killer they can't mindlessly loop until 5 gens pop.

  • I blame the ruin nerf. Ever since that change I'm seeing higher ranked survivors who can't hit great skill checks or they can't even loop.

  • Unless the devs have stated "A new survivor comes out next week" I assume the answer is no.

I'm all for the DC penalties, the more you do it the longer they get. I've told other players that I know about them being turned back on and their reaction was "What? we love DCing". Yes the game has some issues that cause people to DC but those issues only started because of the attitudes of players on both sides. The builds I've seen on both killers and survivors are so crazy.

Now this might be an unpopular opinion but I think that the one of the biggest problems with this game are the streamers and youtubers. They're successful because of the game and that's great for them, but with all the videos out there with "These are the best perks to use for survivors" and perk tier lists that basically saying "to be good Use these perks at all times"

Lastly the streamers, yes there are some out there that play the game for fun and really like it, just look at the fog whisperers. However there are some that play the game(usually only one side) and go out of their way to annoy and or destroy other players. People watch them and think "This is how you play the game to be good" and it hurts the community.

As the above poster said The devs listened to the wrong people when making changes. this isn't new mind you Example the devs of Friday the 13th the game did the same thing and in the end lawsuit aside it hurt the game. This fits for DBD too, one person finds a glitch and or an exploit and it becomes their mission to do it and call it skill.

The reworked maps do not help. Having 5 versions of badham pre school doesn't make it a good map, it's the only one that actually has numbers next to it. Other maps don't work for all killers, If you're playing the trapper and you get the game, good luck your traps just became useless. Some maps are far too dark and I'd rather see new maps then just different versions of old ones. I'm not counting the graphical upgrades in this, thats really cool.

As for the comment about "These are the best perks and builds" When I was playing MMOs years ago I had a word for that condition. I called it "Victims of Strategy Guides" It's a person who does not make decisions for themselves when it comes to what to use/do. They look up a streamer or a guide to see what is the meta and they do it without knowing why. Those people tend to lack innovation/creativity and they do not come up with ideas of their own. They do not experiment to find out what works. Instead they look to others to make those decisions for them. When a big update drops or something gets changed, these players tend to be lost the first few days until some streamer posts their new build.

Gamers today look to streamers to see what they should be running. I look to streamers for ideas. I'll try out their builds and if I don't like them I'll stick to what I like. Or I'll assimilate their builds into mine to make my own.

  • As much as I love that movie I don't think it will work for DBD.

Getting Kurt Russel's vocal will probably be 2-3 lines like when they got Bruce Campbell's. The idea of a shape shifting killer sounds great but anyone with comms will negate this power. As we've seen in the past a killer whose power can be canceled by survivors tend to struggle at high ranks. We all know the devs are not going to tackle swf and headsets.

  • @Customapple0 said:

Just because you spent hundreds of hours on Nurse to master her shouldn’t give you the right to completely massacre anything short of a well coordinated sweaty SWF. That idea is just flawed and completely disregards the idea of fun for the other side.

Nurse is still OP, but thankfully she’s in a buggy state and very few players can play her well so she’s a rare sight.

So because you got gud you deserve to be nerfed? What kind of logic is that?

  • I think the reason people tend to defend nurse is

1: We were lied too about her add on rework

2: She has a bunch of bugs that make her difficult and unfun to play

3: She takes skill to git gud with.

4: A good nurse is actually fun to play against.

Even killer mains and survivor mains both agreed her add ons were too strong. It was nice to be on the same page about something for once. So the devs said they are going to rework her add ons. Then they slapped us with a CD to her base kit. Which many feel her base kit was perfect before. The fact people want her nerfed again when she was already hit pretty hard feels like survivor mains trying to "Have their cake and eat it too"

Since her rework she has a lot of bugs. Failure to teleport through objects, dead zones, failure to blink a 2nd time, auto locking onto walls/hooks when landing on top of a survivor. These bugs have been in here for like a year and the devs haven't touched them. Have they even acknowledged them? DS is bugged and gets patched in 2 weeks. Playing as Nurse is a chore. Your the best killer in the game but your fighting 5 opponents. The 4 survivors and the game itself.

Nurse is S tier but your not going to pick her and get 4ks.(Unless the survivors suck) You need to put a lot of time into her to be a god nurse. Putting in that much work and then being hit by a massive nerf that kicks her out of S tier just feels like a portion of your life wasted. She mixes up the meta. Instead of doing the exact same thing you would do to every other killer you have to change it up with her. I still get "supposedly red rank" survivors that still treat her like a M1 killer. Looping a pallet until I catch them. Those survivors #@$% their pants when they see me blink through the loop and hit them. It's like they're saying "Hey wait. you cant do that. HAX!!!!!!"

A baby nurse is a joke. A god nurse feels like it's impossible but how many of those do you run into? Anything in between keeps me alert. As survivor I like an average nurse match. The jump scares, the thrill of the chase, trying to mind game the killer instead of endlessly pallet looping. It makes the match more interesting then running the same route until you run out of windows/pallets.

On the other hand, Shape clearly has COPD, Wraith snarls all the time, and Ghostface and Pig have very loud footsteps.

On the title screen the devs will change it to say "Headphones mandatory"

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/197845/would-dbd-be-more-fun-if-survivor-was-first-person

The only way I would want first person is if the game had VR support, other than that it would be ridiculous to have first person because stealth killers would be way too overwhelming and having the HUD and perks in your FOV would be an aggravation I would probably stop playing at that point

If the game was in first person for survivor and you were on a gen a stealth killer could walk up to you for a grab. You wouldn't be able to turn around and look for them and you wouldn't hear a heartbeat because of stealth.

  • My noob moment still occurs sometimes despite my playtime. When I'm playing killer and I try to mind game someone it sometimes backfires. Sometimes when a survivor runs behind a wall near a pallet loop I walk backwards to try to catch them off guard. It turns out that survivor just kept running away. When I try to mind game sometimes the survivor doesn't even attempt to loop and just keeps running. This ends up giving them more distance because I thought they were looping.

Yeah, I played a match a hour ago and reported two survivors of another platform who instantly escaped through the hatch and left the last survivor alone.

But reporting is a bit laborious.

I had to cut down my vid to 20 MB because else an error occured and said the upload took longer than expected.

I wrote the hackers names and #numbers in the ticket because there is no other information about them. I hope that is enough.

The last question in the ticket is 'Did you create an in-game report?'

I choosed 'No'. But what exactly does that mean?

That's the thing. I don't think you can report them if your on separate systems. If your both on pc you can bring up their steam profile and submit it there. It doesnt let you do that if your on pc and they are on console.

  • If you suspect someone is hacking and your on separate platforms is it even possible to report them? If I'm on PC and the hacker is console how do you report that?

  • I've had the game for a little over 3 years and I have only seen 2 people that were certainly hacking. There were a few that were questionable but not enough evidence to submit a report.

An obvious hacker was 1 Dwight I was facing during the Hallowed Blight event was ALWAYS sprinting. It was clear he was hacking.

Other times where it looked suspicious but could have been luck was some killers knew where everyone was despite having no perks to explain it. A Nurse that always blinked in the direction of another survivor after hooking someone despite having no BBQ. A trapper that had zero trouble finding people. A bit shady but no proof.

I think the problem is there are so many people who scream hacking when it could be an in game mechanic. I've had people accuse me of hacking until I told them how Whispers worked. Sometimes when the killer finds you it can be down to blind luck.

  • @UMCorian said:

Of course it needs a nerf. Nearly half the games I play, Survivors don't have 3 gens down by the time the first survivor gets hooked. How are we supposed to always get those gates open, line up, and do a 4 man Teabag Boogie every single game if, on occasion, the killer is actually able to get credible map pressure?

Oh yes, and Deathslinger's gun has to stop working past the exit gate. Because being caught teabagging by one running NOED is unfair.

Same can be said for DS. The amount of people using it should not automatically mean "it must be op". Otherwise a lot of perks would be nerfed.

If you are a killer main that doesn't play an anti-loop killer and you enjoy the game, you enjoy looping, it's the main defense survivors have and is absolutely essential to core gameplay.

I wouldn't say "like" so much as tolerate. There are times when looping gets very annoying if it's a very strong loop. It feels like there's nothing you can do at times but chase until they drop the pallet so you can destroy it.

  • I ask the same question every CoD game. Why do people jump straight into the multiplayer when they have no clue what the buttons do?

  • Not only are disconnects a problem but so is the sheer amount of people who justify their reasons for doing it -.-

  • @Moundshroud said:

The only problem I have with Bubba is his walking animation. I hate it so much. It looks prissy and slow and yet he isn't slow. It hurts my brain. :)

I remember when Freddy vs Jason was coming out in theaters there was a horror special that broken down all the rules of horror movies. One of them was "The slower the killer, the faster he'll catch her"

  • When did killers ever "like" looping?

  • One match it was spirit and I was in the process of opening a gate. I got to about 98% and out of paranoia I let go. Good thing because the spirit appeared and smacked me. I touched the door again to open it, I ran around her and Dead Harded through her into the exit.

  • It usually works for awhile. Once the killer realizes you can loop pretty well they will often look for someone else. In my usual SWF one of us is actually decent at looping. So much that if he happens to run past us working on a gen the killer will break off him and come after us. It's gotten so bad we run bond just so we know if he is bringing the killer to us.

  • Bring a key. That usually gets me to focus someone.
