However the devs get their information I would like to see a filter option. If you screened this data by red ranks only, I will guarantee DS is used more than lithe.
-
I feel the perk can be easily abused but at the same time certain play styles are the reason for it's existence.
If your playing as killer and your not deliberately tunneling someone to death, it's a bad perk. Reason being you can hook someone, go after someone else, the first person you hooked deliberately runs into you because they have 60 secs of immunity. Or you could run into that person again by coincidence. Either way you get punished by DS even though you weren't tunneling. If they jump into a locker your only choice is to take the hit. If you slug and they bring UB that is still a waste of your time, which killers have very little.
Then there are killers that do absolutely nothing but go after one person. They pass up opportunities to spread out the dmg, apply pressure, regress a gen. All for the sake of quickly eliminating 1 person. Those types of matches are why DS is in the game.
The perk punishes tunnelers but it also have the double standard of punishing a killer who isn't tunneling. The perk is pretty much a must pick because it is so powerful. Sadly I don't know how you can fix the perk that would be fair to both sides. At least make it so it doesn't work on grabs. Lowering the duration might help but I can still picture toxic killers downing someone and counting to 60 just to get rid of that 1 survivor.

I actually think it causes more tunnelling in a way as the unhooker will usually GTFO leaving the unhooked injured player at the mercy of the killer racing back to try and get their MYC value
If I back track and all I can see is the blood trail, yeah I go after the unhooked because there's no one else. I think in that situation it's the teammates fault.
"I'm gonna save you cause I want that BP......I'm exposed. Your on your own. Tough s@#$" lol
-
Another underrated killer perk. MYC. One of the only times survivors fear the killer is when they are exposed. In a way it discourages tunneling :P
-
dude, paragraphs. Please. It hurts my eyes looking at all that. I'm still waiting for them to fix all of Nurses bugs. GL with getting Billy fixed.

But they will probably increase the FR cap if all participants are on PC or 5th gen consoles, no?
With BHVR over the years I have learned a few things. One of them is what they "say" and what they "do" are usually two different things. If they raise it great. If not I won't be surprised because it's "pretty good job so far".
-
I hate to be devil's advocate but I expect you will be disappointed. Just from the fact this was a PC game and the console port was an after thought for more money. I don't think a next gen console will make that much of a difference with the spaghetti code. I know games on steam that are 10 years old and they still run like crap because the frame rate is capped.

How do abuse DS+BT+UB+Adren?
If I have to explain how that combination can be abused you are obviously new and wouldn't understand.

Underrated: Autodidact & Aftercare. The amount of information and healing benefits are astounding... but they force you to do very specific things to earn those bonuses. This is how perks should work: High risk, high reward.
Overrated: Object, Infectious Fright. Object in a team is broken, but I haven't seen this perk in ages since stealth killers in general were buffed. Infectious does not always help in situations... since most of the time they are gone when I check.
I like using autodidact once in awhile. No one complains once I have stacks but people don't want me healing them before I have any lol. They want to be healed right away, nobody wants progress to go backwards.
-
Survivor
Overrated: DS. I know I will piss a lot of people off with this but I just feel the perk is too good to be in the game. It has a purpose when the killer is tunneling you to death but it punishes killers who aren't tunneling because of it's long duration.
Underrated: Pharmacy. It lets me farm green medkits instead of having to bring a perk to heal myself. It also added to the fear factor. There's just something about going in and having to find a chest to heal yourself that makes the match more intense.
Another one is Alert. Not as OP as OoO but it is a nice little perk to give you awareness when your not using headsets.
Killer:
Overrated: NOED. Id rather get a few people killed BEFORE 5 gens are complete then have to depend on this perk. The same as DS, I feel it's a crutch perk but it's not nearly as powerful by comparison. It can be removed before it ever comes into play and there's only 1 of them. DS there can be 4.
Underrated: Whispers. A lot of people don't know how good this perk really is. It's overshadowed by the no skill required BBQ. Whispers is on ALL the time and those who know how to use it are great trackers. Between the 2 I prefer Whispers over BBQ. The only time I use BBQ is if the killer has high mobility or I want more BP.

What is a nice Killer? You mean the pepole who first hook Mori, Camp, tunnel? Yes Killers are so nice guys who Just want to have fun... Sure.
They may not have been born that way. They could have been a player who never face camped or tunneled. Then too many SWFs bullied them, flashlight them, teabagged them, abused DS+BT+UB+Adren. After having that happen enough time they just snapped :P
-
@Kellie said:
Honestly the situation you're in as a killer determines whether you should tunnel or not.
This. Sometimes I go after healthy people because I want other people injured for pressure. If someone was saved from a hook while I'm away, I run back and all I see is a blood trail. I'm going after that person again. Can;t find who made the save and leaving both of them alone is counter productive.
-
This is why nice killers are rare. There's just too many survivors who are #########.

- i dont play against spirit until they nerf her every game i see her its stridor with speed and recovery addons there is no counter play , Z E R O to it so answering to you with your logic : i paid money for this game and i want to have fun in it and fair balanced interactive gameplay and counterplay with mindgames instead of humilating beatings with laying on ground for whole match with no chance
Zero counter play? Kinda like a swf with 4 DS, UBs, Adrens and keys. Not much counters that but I still play it. I dont like it but I face it and move on. I dont whine for nerfs and refuse to play because I dont like it.

I see a lot of survivors use it when in a dead zone on their first hook. They seem to think those extra 1.5 seconds are really going to help their team/ Now I know to bait it out every time on subsequent chases which probably lost them a lot of potential time.
I think they still believe they can bait a swing. That hardly ever works anymore since the servers got here.

1: Match making is terrible. It should be fixed but the devs are more concerned with quicker que times over fairness. The entire ranking system needs to be overhauled. We got reds who can't even loop a pallet and we got veterans with 2k+ hours in brown ranks because they took a long break from the game. We need a real ranking system besides playtime that month.
2: There needs to be a DC penalty. I feel unless someone is legit cheating NO ONE should be allowed to DC. I don't care if you hate fighting a spirit or a Freddy. I paid money for this game too as well as the other 3 people in the match. If I want to play as spirit then damn it I'm going to play spirit. Just because you don't like facing that killer does not give you the right to quit and ruin the game for 4 other people. That would be like a killer quitting every match when he see's a key. You are not the only person in the match. Other people want to have fun besides you.
3: Some killers have OP builds but a lot of the killers can't compete against a good swf. A lot of the weaker killers need to be buffed.
4: Same can be said for survivors. Some builds waste too much of the killer's time. DS+UB+Adren for example. Survivors have a wide range of good to okay perks but they are greatly over shadowed by the 4-6 meta perks. Both sides have a lot of crappy perks I would never consider using outside of a meme build.
5: Map sizes are an issue for killers with low mobility.
6: Keys+Moris
7: solo survivor absolutely sucks. Randoms are terrible but I don't know how you could improve that without making swf even stronger.
8: We need a clear definition of what is considered a Win and a Loss.
-
I had a match as trapper on Oni's map. I wasn't doing well. Had a few hooks but no deaths by the time the gens were done. Gates are open and I chased 2 people out. 1 person stepped in my traps and I hooked them at 40% time left on the EGC. I walked away and the 4th saved him. I chased them all the way to the gate. Though they were body blocking I did not swing at any of them. They got to the gate, teabagged and then realized I had Blood Warden. Both were taken by the entity, I got my challenge completed and in the end game chat they said "That was awesome"
-
Because the killers with that amount of hours have moved on or there weren't any available at the time. So the MM tossed you to the wolves so they could have a game.
-
GG is usually polite. Now GG EZ, to me that's rude. Saying EZ feels like your saying "You suck" If the killer/survivors played toxic then I don't say anything at all. I just move onto the next game.
-
Bubba because majority of the ones I run into are either face campers or they never ever M1, denying me my dead hard.
Plague because I seem to be the only one who does not cleanse.
Clown because most clowns I run into tunnel people off the hook.
Clown and Bubba are more of a behavior thing than an issue with the specific killer but to me it just feels like clowns/bubbas do it more often.

If we're considering regular trapper, sure, he gets less value for the survivors disabling his traps, but he gets more value for when his power is used right (i.e a survivor gets trapped)
Demogorgon has to walk across the map to set the portal up again though, when you consider the travelling time, setting time and teleportation time, it takes him a while to activate his power, whereas, someone like Freddy just holds a button and gets a teleportation for free.
I don't focus on his portals too much, they just give the survivors free time to do generators if I actually want to set them up.
Considering travel time and setup time I still think trapper has it worse. Demo starts with all his portals and if they get destroyed he gets them back.
Trapper can only carry 1 trap by default. Has to plant it. Walk a country mile to pick up another. Walk somewhere else to plant it. If it gets disarmed he has to walk back to it and pick it up or rearm it. His traps are often easy to spot while demo's portals are invisible until used.
I mostly use the portals for travel to apply map pressure. Plant one when I spawn, patrol to a gen, drop another, hook someone and plant another.
-
Demo still has his lunge if his portals get destroyed. He has several portals in fact and he doesn't have to walk across the map to pick them up. They can be replanted quickly and they only get destroyed after you have used them at least once. Once trappers traps are disarmed he is literally a M1 killer. The bloody coil is also an ultra rare add on. Majority of trapper players agree you need to bring at least 1 bag. So trapper is even more add on dependent than Demo. I have to disagree and say Demo does not have the least value when his power is destroyed.
I've been using Demo more lately and thinking of getting him to P3 next. I love running MYC. When people make a rescue they tend to freak out when they see "expose!"
-
Most of her add ons suck. She is the strongest killer, that's been widely accepted for some time. The thing is she's just not as fun to play as anymore due to her bugs. Half the time I'm fighting the blink mechanics as much as the survivors. Times when I should have gone through something but didnt. Or times when I landed right on top of a survior and it auto locked my swing to a hook.
-
A lot of killers have crappy add ons.
Other killers have powers that can be removed by the survivors. Trapper, GF, Hag, plague, and too a lesser degree Oni

If you can find them. Most "rescuers" are pussies.
That's kinda why I like it. They actually fear you when they are exposed. Either they stick around and get downed or they take off. If they are hiding then they probably aren't healing the person they rescued.
-
I have yet to face a bubba since his rework but I mostly play killer when I am solo. From what everyone seems to be saying never get caught in the open with bubba. It was the same before but now it's like crucial.

Did you get emotional like everyone else when they reached R1 🤣
Once I got those achievements I stopped caring about rank. I had MLK's quote ringing in my head
"Free at last. Free at last. Good god almighty, free at last.
-
Yeah once I hit R1 for each I said never again. If I'm playing with friends I'll get R1 again on survivor but that's because I'm in a swf. As killer I tend to stop at purple ranks, which is where I feel I belong. I like to use non meta killers+builds once in awhile and at red ranks that is impossible to do without being bullied.
-
That's most competitive games in general. After dinner going into midnight that's when all the try hards come out.
-
I thought your answer was going to be "Cleanse da bonez: lol
-
I hope that early game warm up phase the devs have been talking about helps. You shouldn't need to bring certain killers or certain perks to stand a chance at any rank. I won't expect it anytime soon though. How long were they talking about servers before they actually got here? Even then they weren't working properly right out of the box.
-
I confess I hate running DS because I feel it is a bad perk for the game. However when I play survivor and I get killers that tunnel me off the hook, I start to put it on. When I play killer I rarely tunnel enough to justify the perks existence but there are a lot of killers on this game that are the reason why the perk is still here -.-

agreed
@LetsPlayTogether said:
Devs cant change SWFs cause this would mean that they have an impact on the killer players skill. Its nothing more than your own lack of skill against SWF. On the other hand, it has nothing to do with skill to tunnel, camp and slugg. Its just a flaw in game design that DEVs are obviously unable to change though its just making the game loosing players.
I admit camping/tunneling off the hook takes no skill but I disagree about swf. Against a good swf there is literally nothing you can do. Unless your using a meta killer with great perks and probably some add ons. No amount of git gud will make up the difference in power because it's 4 against 1. Designing a game to only work when one side makes mistakes is faulty.
-
Sooooooo the devs should deal with camping/tunneling by not doing a damn thing about it? Cause SWF has virtually been untouched.
-
For survivor I think it's a swf with OoO and keys.
For killer it's bringing an ebony mori, hooking the first person, going just outside of TR range then waiting for the save.

I think it should deactivate during the endgame, you can't be tunneling the survivor if they're your only objective left to defend
I think this change would be good but I can guarantee a large portion of survivors will fight this tooth and nail.
-
If there's one person who is walking out in the opening. Constantly teabagging and clicking a flashlight it's best not to go after them. That person is probably the god looper of the swf or they haven't been hooked yet. They can afford to get downed while everyone else works on gens. If the survivors is deliberately trying to get your attention take a moment to determine if it's worth chasing him or not.
-
I run MYC and tunnel the rescuer :P

You are correct. Moreover, survivors make dumb plays precisely because they're used to all the second chances. If they actually felt they were in danger, they'd play safer and probably survive more often.
It's sad when I see a R1 claudette run to a pallet, stands there waiting for me to get there and then drops it instead of looping it. It just makes me ask "How the hell did you get this high?"
-
It's what I like to call comcast because their service is crap.

What scares me is the sheer amount of people who think these should be actual rules.

Run BBQ/WGLF every round, use any offerings that boost BP gain and last but certainly not least play well.
