  • They'll give you more skins that can only be bought with auric cells.

let's face it. We've been asking for performance and bug updates for god knows how long...I was trying to be realistic in something they could actually do because it seems they only want the aesthetic of the game to do well not the actual gameplay experience

The game needs several updates that focus only on balance and game health. However I think they believe at this point if they stop pumping out new content the game will actually die. It's like the game is soooo buggy that new content is all that's keeping whats left of the player basis. "Were knee deep in it now. The only way out is forward"

  • This has been said countless times. Camping has a built in counter. Survivor's just don't do it. Stay on the hook for as long as possible while everyone else does gens and leaves. That killer will get no BP, will depip for staying that close to the hook all game and won't rank up. Eventually the killer will take the hint "This isn't working. I better try something else". Instead the survivors want that greedy altruism save and they sit there. Waiting for the killer to leave. Meanwhile no one is doing gens and this crappy strategy is working for the killer. This strategy only works if the survivors let it. If there are a ton of campers that tells me there are just as many inexperienced survivors not countering this.

  • Recently I played a match against a Billy on Lerys. I was in a SWF. I suck at 360ing Billy's chainsaw. I'm in the middle room and he chases me. I drop a pallet early and he doesn't break it. I screwed up a mind game and he one shot me. Very bad chase on my part.

2nd encounter I was looping a desk that was chest height. Somehow he chainsawed me over the counter. As if he was meleeing over a fence in Hadonfield. I call BS on that one.

The 3rd time however. It's just me and 1 other person left. Maybe my pathing was exceptional this time but I lead him on a chase for the last 2 gens. 3 times he tried to get on my ass and chainsaw me point blank and he hit some debris. Every time we get to a pallet I would drop it early thinking it would block the chainsaw. He wouldn't destroy it and was afraid of getting stunned. He would just rev his saw and loop around trying to get a hit on me. I found a vault and hoped over. He tried to walk backwards with his chainsaw revved to try to trick me and I didn't fall for it. He ended up hitting more debris and I got even further from him. One spot I somehow timed the drop so well that it stunned Billy in mid sprint without breaking the pallet. One pallet loop it was safe so I looped it until I had to drop the pallet. He revved his saw constantly trying to get me around a corner. Hoping I would double back or misread a mind game. I didn't screw it up this time. We looped this one pallet so much his chainsaw overheated. My buddy opens a gate and I tell him to leave. I'm leading Billy on a chase on the outer edges of Lerys while trying to find a gate. I guess his chainsaw was still overheated because in those long pathways he didn't try to chainsaw me. He eventually got on my ass and swung but magically I was on top of the hatch and I got out. I didn't even hear it over the chase music. I didn't even know it was there because it was obscured by grass. I just saw the option to jump in and got out.

I ranted a bit there but that 3rd chase was intense. So many times I thought he was going to chainsaw me and finish me off. I was on death hook, half that chase I was injured. The fact that he got me twice very easily felt like I redeemed myself. That would have been a 4k had he caught me. All this was running through my mind as I was running from room to room. My routing sucks so I have no idea where to run in Lerys. I was just running and by luck I found rooms with windows and pallets. I felt like dead weight in the first half of that match because I tend to suck against Billy but I ended up with 2nd most points and I double pipped. Not so much the scare of getting removed without doing much but all those close calls is what thrilled me. All through chat I was saying "Yeah he got me here. WAIT, HE MISSED!"

It constantly boggles my mind how survivors seem laser-focused on using their toolboxes on the first gen, especially when I have Ruin and can negate all their progress. The number of kills I've gotten and games I've won because survivors refuse to give up on a specific gen is incalculable. Just yesterday I had someone DC right at the start of a match because I made him waste his BNP on the first gen.

Save your toolboxes! Use them tactically!

Farmer John had a hilarious game he posted to youtube a week ago where he hard-countered a 3 BNP gen rush thanks to Legion with Ruin/Undying. I can't get the link on my phone, but search notfarmerjohn youtube and find the video qith 3 BNPs in the pic. It's worth a watch for the comedy content.

It also baffles me how often survivors 3 gen themselves. They just go in a straight line from gen to gen without thinking. I'm a trapper main and I know how dangerous a 3 gen can be. I always look for a gen in the middle or I do 1 gen and run to the other side of the map to do another.

They agreed that she needs a buff. Maybe i'm playing her more often in the future. :)

Id rather they fix her bugs.

  • It's looking grim but I don't think the game will die anytime soon. We've had people saying that for years.

  • The Known Ferengi Rules of Acquisition

1 Once you have their money... you never give it back.

  • I would love them to fix Nurse but I think the Devs don't want to add more fuel to that fire. Most agreed her add ons needed to be reworked but then they had to F with her base kit and give her a CD. Now I think they just don't want to touch her on the fear of making things even worse. It is ridiculous how long her bugs have been unaddressed. Meanwhile the stun on DS is bugged and gets patched in a week.

Most of her add ons are quite crap.

  • I don't have a problem with DH since the servers. Before you could bait a swing consistently. Now it's more like an extra step to get to the next pallet sooner. I've been running SB lately. I normally didn't use SB because I like to run without being exhausted but if I'm on a gen and the killer gets the drop on me, I can usually get to a pallet/vault before that first hit. Effectively extending the chase.

  • You can't fix trapper because that would require them to remove headsets and I don't think they can do that even if they wanted too.

Only in this case replace cable company with asymmetric horror game.

I really like him to, but I have 3 grievences

    1. The point that you brought up
    2. His height being so low to the ground (During the QA they said that this will be addressed)
    3. His attack post rush being considered a non-basic attack. There is no difference between his post rush attack and spirit or nurses attacks after they use their power.

I can see how his height makes using his power difficult but some killers can benefit from a short stature. Hag for instance is tiny and when looping certain loops you can't see her. The only thing you have to go on is the red stain and killers can learn to walk backwards to hide that

New stats show, that the Clown is more lethal than the Huntress. So the upcoming Clown change might even be a nerf.

Doesnt that chart also say Nurse is at the bottom? I guess that means we can remove the cd to her blinks >.>

  • Honestly the only change I would make to Freddy is make BT work when your asleep. Other than that I say leave him alone. I remember how he was when he first got here. He was the worst killer in the game and it took almost 2 years to get him reworked. Now he is actually viable at red ranks. Compared to what he was this is a big improvement. That is a rework done right.

  • I've actually done 3 of these things because it was easy points. Granted it takes awhile to harvest them and during that time I could be doing a gen. I usually only harvest if were doing well. I can picture groups losing because they spent too much time going for flowers over gens but no one is making them take these challenges.

Then dont bring again the "Ds vs Pop" cause they are different perks. Anyways that already got discussed a lot of time (which means you're beating a dead horse)

Someone asked why was popped nerfed and I answered. You dont like beating a dead horse than dont open a thread about a topic thats already been discussed. No one is making you read this.

  • I'm glad they are doing something but like previously mentioned, let's wait till we see what it is they are doing. They might just extend it by a week and say "Pretty good job so far"

  • @RizeAki said:

Ps it won’t be changed cuz it’s on Laurie same reason ds won’t get touched not cuz of any stats

The halloween dlc still sells which is why I don't think DS and OoO will ever truly be balanced. Look what happened with Ash when MoM was fixed.

I agree that DS should be nerfed again. Still, all 60 second timers are not created equal; just because it's too long for Pop doesn't mean it's too long for other perks. Like, should we make MYC 45 seconds instead? No need. It's not Pop.

We also have to take into account the survivors can have 240 seconds on their perks if everyone brings it. At red ranks DS is damn near equipped by everyone.

Now that you said it out loud there will be a shadow nerf to myc lol

  • The reason they gave does. It's a double standard. 60 seconds is too much time for killer yet survivors get to keep their 60 sec timers. Only shows the devs are survivor sided.

  • I'm kind of glad they don't have in game chat. I remember when FT13th came out there was no option to turn off in game chat and people were complaining about people not shutting off their damn mics.

  • I cannot give an actual build. I can just list some good perks and it would be up to you to decide what would be best to run.

Whispers is great for finding people. Patrol gens and when it turns on pop stealth to try to get a sneak att.

    BBQ/Discordance for finding people

NC+Sloppy for hurting people and finding them while healing.

Ruin+Undying, corrupt intervention, or pop for gen slow downs.

STBFL is always good on M1 killers.

    Franklins for keys

  • The only thing id like changed about Freddy is make BT work like usual when your asleep and unhooking someone. Other than that id say leave him the way he is because I remember the days when he first came out. F tier was named after him for gods sake.

  • I tend to support most killer buffs and even I think that would be too much.

It’s a really useful perk when you can get all 5 stacks. Plus, it’s so satisfying to see the healing bar just flying up. 😂

The annoying part is getting those 5 stacks. No one wants to be healed by you before you get 3 lol

  • The reason they gave was you could do too many other things within 60 seconds and still have it. Yet when asked about DS nothing happened.

Aw man you should have been here for the first Hallowed Blight event. It was so much better than this. You got 2 out of 6 new outfits for free and there was something in game other than gens to do. Oh and the Blood points omg it was crazy. I miss it so much. :(

If anything the old hallowed blight event was very relaxing as killer. Gens weren't popping left and right because survivors wanted that serum. It felt like you didn't need a met a killer and you weren't on the clock.

  • A lot of us are thinking it, I'm gonna come out and say it. The game shouldn't have come out on console if they weren't going to put in the effort to work as good as it does on PC.

  • There's no point in continuing a discussion with a survivor main because they are hell bent on making the game as easy as possible for themselves and won't be happy until BHVR replaces killers with bots.

  • I'm not surprised. Every event introduces new bugs. I'm sure it will get fixed and the event will be extended for a week.

  • I'm certain they know about it. The trick is getting them to actually "do" something about it.

  • @weirdkid5 said:

I cross-played with a bunch of PS4 friends yesterday and they were super salty at the fact they couldn't 360 me because I play on PC.

Off topic I know but it's pretty hilarious tbh. 360s shouldn't even be a thing at this point, it's technically an exploit anyway.

I can always tell when someone is a console player because they try to 360 me. It's like they still haven't learned that crap doesn't work against PC killers most of the time. I love the console players that still try to pallet loop a PC nurse :P

  • @Mtom912 said:

Because end game collapse isn't meant to benefit either side, even though it does favour killer, and is only meant to be there so a survivor can't hide in a corner for 20 minutes

In the past there was no end game, you could open the gate and have as much time as you want, and a survivor hypothetically if they wanted to could stay in the game for hours and waste the killers time

Before the EGC people would open the gates and bully the killer because they knew they could get to the exit before being downed. They knew they were safe. That attitude still exists in the game. The survivors 99% a gate then they just have to touch it to get out. IMO the gates should regress if no one is touching them. Not by a lot but enough so you can't run up to it, touch it and DH through the killer to get out. Enough time that it takes you 1-2 seconds of staying on it to open them.

If every killer takes Kote's advice and "Plays something else" who are you going to play against? Or did you think that far ahead? The devs can only pump out so much content before running out of new players to throw into the meat grinder.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I'm not trying to badmouth or ridicule you, I'm just baffled. Because while some do have legit points about what needs to be tweaked about him (LBR, M&A is an overall broken perk, not just on him), I commonly see behaviour in matches against him (whether playing myself on either side or watching others) that are just baffling:

    1. The seeming refusal to learn about him on survivor side.
    2. The ignorance towards his powers.

1 : One of the first things a lot of Deathslinger players do in experience is get into a custom match and see what he can shoot through/over. Meanwhile a lot of people that complain that you can't loop him (at all) etc seem to try and run him at spots where it would seem obvious that he can shoot through/over.

2: The weirdest thing is still what some people do at the open gate. Like, sure, healing there gives extra points, but... if he's standing right there and you saw the reload animation going through, why would you still stand there, healing and teabagging? He has a gun that can pull you back to him. Forget those few points and run. Especially people who complain about his 'quickscoping' (which isn't actually something you can't pull off by default) should know better.

So, why? Sure, he needs some tweaks, but he's still not as impossible to counter as some seem certain.

Survivors don't like a killer they can't bully. If pallet looping doesn't buy you enough time for your team to finish 3 gens by the first hook they say the killer is "OP" and needs to be nerfed. They don't like a killer who forces them to mix things up. Common example is Nurse.

  • I wouldn't mind being able to see if it was a swf after the match ended. That way I don't feel so bad if I got stomped.

  • I'm not really interested this year. I loved the hallowed blight event where we had to fill the vials but this one just looks like an excuse to sell skins that can only be purchased with real money.

  • @TheButcher said:

All the people here going "It's a bug, but I'm for it" . These are the people that need to learn that you're not supposed to be on equal playing field to the Killer. THE KILLER IS SUPPOSED TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER THAN YOU. The game is supposed to be built around the fact that no matter how good you are at survivor - A killer of equal skill. WILL. GET. YOU.

Good luck trying to reason with survivor mains. I remember the outrage when they added exhaustion mechanics and fixing old MoM. Never mind the fact these changes were for the good of the game.

It isnt. But surv mains dont care. Easy escapes against her now.

If survivor mains had their way. All killers would be Nurse without her blinks.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

While that would actually provide the same information she gets to the Survivor, I would think that this is a Bug.

I have 22 posts. I'm also a designer. And there can be value in listening to outsiders bc a lot of the critiques legacies make of this game are herd mentality.

But it lights a previously dull totem, so if the killer isn't running undying, there's a good chance the survivors haven't been meticulous about doing dull totems.

It effectively transforms the collapse from a survivor afterparty to a mad dash for the hatch or gates so there's a sound argument to be made that it's functionally a second chance perk.

The reason I ask if your new is you could have a lot of playtime but just recently made an account on the forums or you could be using an alternate account.

I'm not a designer but in my opinion making perks/powers that only work if the survivors don't feel like countering it usually means "It'll work on newbs but nothing else". Inner Strength is a pretty good healing perk and most people are going to look for totems for that. Experienced players even know where most totems can show up. I would not consider noed or any hex perk 2nd chance because it depends on the survivor's negligence. NOED can be removed before it activates, they just have to stop rushing gens and look for totems. DS on the other hand, the killer can do nothing to remove that. No matter what the killer has to play around it. He either has to wait 60 secs, slug or take the stun. That is a 2nd chance perk. There's nothing the killer can do that will remove DS from the match. "Don't tunnel" doesn't count because it is still buying that survivor a 2nd chance.

Undying is cool but it's has the same issue as running a hex perk with Thrill of the Hunt. Your spending 2 perks slots for 1 perk. Hex perks are risky because if they cleanse it your down a perk for the rest of the match. Running TOTH or Undying just feels like double downing.

No one mentioned it but Blood Warden almost could be considered 2nd chance if not for the fact most experienced survivors 99% the gates so it won't activate. Still hilarious when it goes off. They teabag at the exit, turn around and realize they can't get out /kefka laugh

  • @hurryingok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1690354#Comment_1690354

Noed is effectively a second chance perk: Oh you lost the game? Here, a first hit is now a down.

I don't often run noed bc I feel like it's cheating, but the survivors' counter for it, i.e. scrambling to find the lit totem at the end of the Trial, is much riskier than cutting losses and getting the heck out.

NOED is a hex perk. It can be removed before it ever comes into play. Are you new because there have been many many threads about how NOED is no where close to a 2nd chance perk. Nothing killer has comes close to the power of DS.

But the Band is not complete without him. If there´s any license out there that deserves and needs a spot in DBD, it´s definately him for so many reasons. I´d argue that M1 Killers aren´t actually that easily Bullied anymore, at least Freddy and Michael aren´t.

If he's not strong I don't want him in here. Otherwise he would feel like a cash grab. We need to do Jason justice!!!
