For me, it was actually one of the bugs, so I did join in 2019 so I'm not a veteran, but when I first started, there was a bug where you'd get stuck outside the exit gate and the walls so there really was no escape. Thought it was funny as I'm just running around like a chicken with it's head cut off cuz in this case, death had to be the escape.
I miss how how the maps used to look. After the map reworks they just dont feel the same. Macmillians blue hue is burned to my head and i miss it so much.

I'm 50/50 Killer and Survivor, so I understand how to work both roles.
Killer feels so frickin good right now, as it should.
Survivor feels... Also really frickin good. And I dint know why people are crying about it.
Yes I get it, Dead Hard and Decisive are nerfed. Guess what, there are 6 other wonderful exhaustion perks you can use and Off the Record is literally the new Decisive. I've been running Overcome, Lucky Break, Off The Record, and Empathic Connection. I legit lose killers mid chase with this build and they can't tunnel me. They chase after me of course, but it's all to buy time for your team. Not JUST escaping.
Just because you get sacrificed doesn't mean you lost, ya know.
Overall pretty fun patch to soloq but bit annoying that the tunneling has gotten so prevelant i feel like im forced to run ds+otr+bt when i could just run full 4 perk meme build before. If i had to guess in a month most killer players will play the exact same way as before and this small complaint is gone.
-
I have as a habit rated every single match for 3 years now and i can confidently say it does absolutely nothing. I will continue to use it tho.

Yeah, they hammer out gens saying "lol it's our only objective" than, in the same breath, complain about how boring gens are.
As an objective chasing and killing survivours is way more interactive and probably for the majority of the players more entertaining than holding m1 on a generator so whats the issue? Its the rest of survivour gameplay outside of doing generators ( getting chased, going for saves, for some people hiding, fun builds and techs) that makes the role entertaining.
-
I just feel bad for killer players now that survivours are forced to learn how to loop safer. I have hoped for dh nerf for ages but its scary what the effect will be long term. Sprint burst has always been good for safe play and i hope the game doesnt go back to everyone using it.

A high skill floor with a near game-breaking skill ceiling is bad game balance and bad game design. That's really not debatable.
I understand that Nurse players have been honing in their craft for years and changing the way she plays would really screw Nurse mains over, but why is this allowed to go on when it's a seemingly glaring issue with balance?
Edit: high skill floor, not low skill floor
Because playing against nurse requires completely diffrent skillset compared to other killers and the reason why people are okay with it is that back in the day 60% of your games were against a nurse and you got tons of experience to learn to play against her. It creates very diffrent experience as nowdays players barely ever face her which also makes learning to play against her take way longer.
Nurse mostly reveals how over reliant too many people are with safe pallets and windows.
Every single point at the map is a potential loop or a deadzone against her depending on how you and the nurse play.
Most nurse players are completely beatable in both 1v1 and 1v4 aspects but the problem is that very often theres someone in your team that hasnt had the chance to play enough against her making it a 3v1 from the beginning.
She constantly has a map wide scream telling you when she is chasing someone or hovering around looking for someone or sneaking up on someone.
She constantly tells you the exact position she is going to appear to and how long it will take her to appear there and your job is to play around that.
Overall probaply the most fun to killer to play against as she doesent suffer much from safe pallets making it more than holidng w and occasionally pressing spacebar. to compensate for this even a single tree can be used against her making the gameplay way more fluid as you are never safe but almost never hopeless.
To a degree huntess has the same issue where if you play against someone who always runs in a straight line you will down them in 10 seconds every time you see them which does not make huntress overpowered just the survivour inexperienced.

@PhantomChimera said:
Not cleansing them as you find them is risky. If the killer is able to get to any remaining survivors before any of them can get back to the totem then it is potentially match over for that survivor. Many survivors won't risk rescuing a survivor while NOED is active. if the killer is running Blood Warden then things have have become worse.
Cleansing the totem takes 16 seconds in other words 20% of a generator which can be often more detrimental. If you actually have to manuever a bit to get to the totem the number gets higher. If your team has the time to afford for you to do that its fine but if you guys are having a close match you are throwing by not contributing to the objective.

For me the most overrated perk for survivor is dead heart. There have been so many times were dead heart does not work for me, and it has to be used when injured so it won't work vs insta downs. Not only that once the killer knows you have it you won't have a second chance to use it usually. The most underrated perk for me is detective hunch, since it's deja vu and plunders all in one perk. Plus it's the only perk that show the exact location where totems are located at. I'm surprised killer only users have not have called for the perk to be nerfed, then again... it's probably because it's underrated and not used a whole lot. The most overrated perk for killers in my opinion is corrupt innervation since all survivors have to do is wait it, and if you have a totem they can go looking for it. The most underrated perk for me is going to be eruption I know it's not officially out but hear me out, I used it on the PTB with surge and they work so well together. Plus that is the only perk in this game that make survivors incapacitated, I can already see situations were survivors might be close to finishing gens and if you down someone, that perk can prevent other survivors from finishing the gen for 14 seconds.
In my opinion most overrated perk from both sides would be pop and prove thyself. Most of the perks in the game are under rated so i cant really pick anything.

Nah I do like playing Spirit as she is my favorite killer (not the one I find the most fun to play but my favorite killer in general). Playing her with meta perks can be boring though that’s why I like using meme perks like Mad Grit on her.
I respect the cultured perk pick my favourite has to be infectious fright huntress

Maybe I should constantly play Spirit with meta perks and powerful add ons so I can increase her escape rate. Then when the devs see that, they’ll finally do something with her.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2252387#Comment_2252387
Exactly. That’s the exact reason why the strength of Spirit isn’t the issue. It’s her not giving any tells on what she’s doing that makes it an issue and completely gets rid of all skill the survivors have.
cant recommend after an hour of that you will be bored out of your mind most of the games are so similiar its starts feeling like a joke

It's all just guesses until something happens. You're guessing whether or not spirit's addons will let her reach you from x distance based on how often she has been using her power. It's no different than guessing whether or not someone has bt or ds. Or guessing if huntress brought extra hatchets. Or guessing if spirit fury was brought. All of these things can be game changers and there's no way to know other than making guesses until they happen.
- bt can be waited out and is obvious most of the time
- ds is run like 15% of the games now aside from it being the obsession there isnt much point to ever respect it.
- you always expect her to have more hatchets because she can always try baiting you into thinking she doesent.
- spirit fury is also extremely annoying to play against however most people who use it blindly lunge into every pallet making it rather obvious. also kicking pallets that are normally a waste of time is a good indication aswell.
- With spirit you make and educated guess. yes you can count how many seconds she *might* have been in phase in but you have to blindly guess her exact location every second which becomes exponentally more absurd every second especially since the addons make such a huge diffrence. for an experienced player you might it pull it off bit more especially against a less experienced killer however for the average player its unreasonably difficult. the problem isnt that shes good its that its tidious to play against.

She isn't really that bad i played her much my friend also thinks she really isn't bad but if people say she's bad how would you buff her
- Okay map control trough traps although requires luck or purple addons to become great.
- Her pallet play is essentially m1 killer as dash is so easy to play around as survivour.
- Using her stealth is at best tricky as you need to start stealthing before they can hear your heartbeat on the generator making you waste too much time just for an easier hit. If your heartbeat suddenly disappears survivours do notice that you went stealth.
- Overall shes mediocre although with good luck or purple addons she can be quite the stomper.
- Pretty much her only strong point can also be negated by survivours finding the key in the first box.

Is it just me or is Blast Mine 10 times better. It lasts longer and you don't have to stop repairing or block other people from repairing to use it. And you only have to do 52 seconds of repair to activate (66% of 80 seconds). And the killer doesn't know if you have it or not until it's too late. Also you can use it while other people are on the gen but for Repressed Alliance you have to be the only person on it to block it
I supposed Repressed Alliance does stop Ruin regression, and Blast Mine won't stop a determined killer from kicking the gen with Pop for as long. But still it seems like one is just way better than the other. It's a super cool perk, probably my favorite from this chapter, I just thought it was kinda weird how this perk is pretty much superior to the other one that is supposed to have a similar purpose (stop the killer from messing with the generator)
Also I haven't tried it, has anyone tried to use both perks at once? I think they both use the same button
Repressed gets value more often making and i would rate it higher because of it.

Isn’t being downed early usually the survivors fault? Unless you’re talking about the killer spawning like right next to the killer. DCing because of that is still scummy but whatever. People DC for literally anything these days.
Sometimes the map rng screwes you over and you can be in a situation where there isnt much you can do at all.
You shouldnt dc but i wouldnt blame someone for being frustrated about it.

@GeneralV said:
The thing is, DBD is "balanced" around 4 solo survivors and the killer. That is why we have perks that give the player select amounts of information, such as Bond and Alert.
That is why SWF is an unsolvable problem. Using comms is a huge advantage, where it shouldn't be. So if the killer doesn't want to play an unfair match, let him dodge.
Swf is just potential it doesent make them good or make them have reasonable decisions. 4 soloq players can be leagues ahead of 4man.
Granted swf reduces how good you have to be but at the same time it promotes overaltruism which is a detriment.

Because there are only a handful of twins players and they are most likely good so twins stats get bloated to high hell.
Most likely because they miss so rarely with victor is why devs made that change. They mostly care about stats which is why these abominations of a change happen.

I don't think you get to complain about the one time killers get to have some fun.
And you are assuming this person just happens to waste all their heals and bnps because "urf theyll get nerfed".
If you know they did its fair but still condesending.
Shaming someone for being annoyed at it will only be there to make you feel better.

It depends on if your team mates are willing to play safely and focus on the gens. Flip of a coin as always.
Occasionally maps can provide bit too hard of a 3 gen tho but they are very rare.
For example crotus prenn has a generator spawn upstairs, at the green room, and next to the green room making the effective time to patrol all 3 gens less than 10 seconds.
I hope it was a bug as ive only seen it once.

4 WGLF stacks are WAAAAAY easier to get than 4 BBQ stacks. You can get 3 stacks with a single unhook.
Try that with killer.
4 hooks is quaranteed for you pretty much every match as a passive effect and going for saves every time usually is not very productive if you want to win aswell. You need to focus on altruism and if your teammates already do that you should just be the gen jockey.
Bbq is pretty much passive effect wglf has conditions if you want to win.

You would be wrong. Not because BBQ doesn't drastically speed up your BP gains, but because a strong meta build or near meta build for Killer does NOT require only BP. Spirit with BBQ, Stridor, Pop/Ruin, Corrupt/Undying requires 500 Auric Cells, and 27k Iridescent Shards unless you get stupid lucky with the Shrine of Secrets which can push it down to 13k shards. Can you replace any of those perks with free ones? No! Why? Because the set of perks you can acquire as a Killer for only BP is pathetic.
Heck, your "solution" alone requires either 500 Auric Cells and a chunk of BP or 2k shards and the Shrine to play along. Meanwhile WGLF has always been free from David and it got a massive buff so it is a good perk even without the BP gains part.
Getting leatherface and grinding him for bbq is the requirement. Its either buy the dlc or farm the shards for a little bit neither one takes that long lol.

Baseline you get more bp and easier stacks for more consitent double bp.
What was your point?

Adrenaline is a great perk (obviously), but with the DS nerf I feel that it's now the strongest perk survivors have in their arsenal.
Why? Because adrenaline instantly heals them one health state, gives them 5 seconds of sprint burst, wakes them up, can be used when already exhausted, and is saved until you are freed from a hook.
It is a survivor perk that works in the endgame, probably the only one that does.
It is the most powerful survivor perk because it works when the killer is supposed to be at their strongest, when all the pallets are gone and everyone is probably on death hook or injured. It just completely resets you as survivor and is especially good against freddy.
Ok, so it is the best on good survivors imo. Good survivors will do just fine without SB or DH.
loving the DS nerf btw
I wouldnt even put it in top 5 because its a waste of perk slot during the match and only helps you once. When you get it to work its really good but most of the time adrealine does nothing.
-
@FFirebrandd said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2084908#Comment_2084908
Sure, but unlike Survivors, it is near impossible for a Killer to get all their powerful stuff all at once.
Seriously, throwing ~2 mil BP at a fresh Survivor account can give you either DH, WGLF, BT, Unbreakable or SB, Adren, BT, Unbreakable which are both just a DS away from having a variant of the meta Survivor build... and both replaces DS with a near meta perk.
Killers can't even come close to that level of a power spike that early.
If you get bbq first i completely disagree. Your bp gain as killer outweighs survivour so much that youll be faster in getting what you want.

Everybody's so eager to pretty much hate crime on third seal, but is it really that bad of a perk? Constant blindness, especially if you're keeping up the pressure, can be pretty disorienting, and who really expects a hex totem to last for more than a minute in the first place?
After you hit 3-4 people once you can slug very freely.
As every hex perk tho its very inconsistant and even at its best its decent
Its biggest upside is that literally no one ever uses it and i doubt many players have even the slightest clue why they are blinded.
I see around 1 third seal gamer per year and they have been the most chaotic games ive played.

Searching chests also not deactivates. I am just saying, it was weak update
Searching chests is also not the objective it could also give more insentive to search chests so you dont immediatly hop on a gen. Id say chests arent really a bad one as it could potentially help the killer.

If survivors rush Gens, they don't get many BP's either. In fact that's why AFK killers are so annoying. You miss out an opportunity for an entire category of points. I'll never understand players who's goal is to win as fast as possible so they can get back to the lobby. It's why I never bring BNP's or Toolboxes unless I've got a rift challenge (in which case I bring a brown toolbox and use it up immediately)
If you play against a good killer it is very often your only option as they will punish you heavily for not doing it. It can be a shotgun in a swordfight when playing against newer killers tho.
Many survivours are bit boosted and go down really fast and give exponental snowball potential to the killer and troughout the years people have started to compensate that more and more by hyperfocusing on the objective.
Your average survivour still gets sacrificed most of the time.

Devs nerfed DS because if you doing gen, healing someone and doing other survivors stuffs that is mean you are not tunnelling and you are losing DS for this hook. But if someone healing you that mean you have time for get heal and killer is still not tunnelling you? Why this not makes lose DS? What is sense?
If you have time to get fully healed 16 seconds and the killer isnt tunneling you the only thing left to do expect throw is to start doing gens.
When you start doing gens it deactivates. The perk doesent do anything in the situation you are complaining about.
Better complaint would be why does it not deactivate when opening doors.
