"hard" is the wrong term since it's entirely luck based.

You can get a Legion that stabs everyone a million times and makes the game last forever naturally resulting in 100 pips for everyone

    OR

You can get a full team of potatoes that don't know the difference between DBD and Hello Kitty adventures combined with a slugging 1-hooking instadown killer naturally resulting in a depip or black pip for all even if you get hatch after watching your team die in seconds.

So yeah... I would call it "luck based" rather than "hard" because let's be honest: Playing survivor is mechanically the easiest thing in the world.

The whole game is mechanically easy that also icludes killers.

Every killer has places that he can't do nothing with his power. House of Pain is probably a structure you should always drop chase unless you're a Spirit.

Haddonfields house of pain is pretty much closest thing to an infinite in the current game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

As someone who mains both killers and have hundreds of hours on each of them, so I can say I have plenty of background on both, I still think Deathslinger is more balanced than Huntress.

Yes, Deathslinger can insta ADS and hit you on almost any loop, but at least he is severely punished for missing a shot and even when hitting you he either has to go through the weapon wiping animation or the 4 seconds stun. That's the whole point of his power: having a strong projectile that requires extreme precision but in exchange you're severely punished for missing. The only busted thing is the M2 zoning and the stealth potential, but these can be solved by adding a cooldown if you ADS without shooting and also making Monitor and Abuse not working on 24m TRkillers (it's BS on Hag too).

Meanwhile we still have Huntress throwing hatchets with virtually no cooldown between them. Managed to dodge a hatchet? Nah, it doesn't matter because she barely has any cooldown for missing and still has 4 to 6 hatchets with her. And a semidecent Huntress WILL land one of these hatchets, you know what happens next? She's already on top of you to a M1 follow up or with another hatchet raised, so I hope you like dodging. If the Huntress has Oak Haft she basically has an instadown at close range. Infantry Belt guarantees that even a bad Huntress can always land at least one hatchet on you.

She can't zone you on loops like Slinger but she can do it on bigger areas, forcing you into deadzones by just walking with her hatchet raised. Most Huntresses mains also already know how to abuse the enourmous survivors' hitbox and will manage to land the most BS hatchets on you.

I don't think Huntress needs a nerf tho, but if I were to balance one of the two, it would definitely be her. But she's probably the killer that most people choose to main, so I doubt the community will ever complain and the best things she's getting is an addon pass.

Huntress has alot of places where you just want to stop chase due to her slow movement speed and heavy slowdown if she raises a hatchet. House of pain is probaply the best of example of these structures.

  • Even with shadowborn the FOV is so bad it gives me headache and nausea.

  • @MythMage If survivours dont waste time healing you have no power for most of the game. It isnt horrible as you can one shot but i wouldnt rate legion very high.

Solo has reached a point where the match starts, I see Corrupt on a gen, see a gen spark from ruin, than hear the Spirit phase or Slinger shot and just alt tab and watch Twitch.

I feel this post but i think afking isnt the right option as the average killer is only bit less pepega than average survivour. You still have a really good chance of winning.

They were boring no doubt, but played a strategic role in the outcome of the game. Apart from fast vaulting, there are not very many hard mechanics for survivors which makes little to no outplay potential for them. I think it would be great if a new obstacle was added perhaps, or a new mechanic overall.

Yes i suppose but it was essentially a waste of time as neither side was challenged or had much fun while looping them.

Only real OGs remember balanced landing on old lampkins lane haha

I couldn't bare to deal with them which is why i only did omegablink nurse, as they were green and yellow addons, very common. I agree with you, however, at rank 1 i feel like all survivors kinda know what to do, as if you were in SWF, except a few things, like devour totem is in the main building, ect.

There have been ideas on adding a voice chat, or at least just a standard chat for the survivors, no idea why its not been done yet.

I also feel like infinites were a healthy part of the game, and its not like there was no counterplay, i mean the windows blocked themselves after a few times. I think having a few safe spots for survivors was a good idea, as it meant the killers needed to make sure they played their games with strategy in mind, not just mindlessly chasing the old wrecker's yard building. Oh well, i guess a salty nurse main should probably not say anothing on this lol

the old infinite windows were the most boring part about the game as survivour as it was often the only thing you could run to and you just held down w and occasionally vaulted the window again to win the game.

  • Its mostly filled up with newer killers who focus on getting to rank1 too hard without building up the skillset for it. Ive noticed getting moried more in purple ranks too.

I'm confused on what you mean here? Going into que is better if you have no perks on?

point was that soloq is completely fine even without any perks so this build would be pretty decent

definetely not meta but seems fun

  • considering soloq is not bad without any perks its not even a bad build

  • progress.png

i dont recommend that anyone starts prestigeing anything nowdays but if you have played for long enough you just dont you need bps anymore and you start using em just for the sake of not staying at the cap.

Survivors insult my intelligence on a daily basis.

The dumb tech, the window tech, the maybe he didn't see me on BBQ so I'm gonna crouch in place and turn invisible tech. The obvious flashlight saves, the failed pallet saves, the bodyblocking with BT nonsense. Tying to bait an early swing with Dead Hard and Sprint Burst. Taking hits and flashlight clicking to try to get me to chase you when I know dang well there are two people on death hook and you're not one of them.

Just stop. I have an IQ over 7. I ain't gonna fall for that sh

Congratulations for not falling for this stuff but it has been working conistantly on killers for almost 4 years for me. Its not an insult as much as its testing the waters as how much can you get away with. You can also counteract this by pretending to be stupid and getting easy hits.

    BOND is godlike for soloQ.

you get a lot of informations, especially when you can run a killer for a long time to not disturb people on gens. i love it. there are better perks but i love that perk.

  • Nurse is fair as godlike nurses are incredibly rare. Most of the time it is very equal playing field and she doesent suffer from the bad map design as much.

    Hello all,

I want to know how one can get this trophy:

    Skilled Huntress

In public matches, down survivors 100 times with The Huntress' Hatchets further than 24 meters.

I don't know what to do anymore to get this one. I tried to play normally and hope for the best...

I tried playing nice in the hope survivors would give me a "free hit" in the exit gate, but all I get is people who immediately leave or just dodge every hatchet I throw.

At this point, I don't even know what to do anymore to get this one.

Any tips from you guys/girls? :)

people dont expect very very long range hatchets so survivours are very easy to preidct. biggest problem is that there is often things in the way. use bbq and throw at survivour if you see them.

and yet the devs still nerfed it for the newbies instead of telling them to git gud.

yeah pretty much ruin was the sole reason why you would ever want to master great skilchecks nowdays its pretty pointless they nerfed the values of greats too to make you settle for goods :/

True and that even had 2 direct counters to it, toolbox with the addon that removes skill checks and stake out (and maybe brand new parts on some way)

detectives hunch and small game also existed then so it was a miracle ruin ever got any value tbh it was a pretty bad perk

  • @EvilJoshy said:

The term "toxic" has been thrown around dbd so much, that I think it has lost its meaning. My definition of toxicity is intentionally ruining other players experiences with bad intentions, ######### talking in the end game chat and hacking/exploiting.

    What do you consider toxic?

i guess forcing the other person to dc on purpose by either blocking them to a corner for 10 minutes or abusing some kind of glitch. Most stuff that people complain is toxic is people taking the game too seriously.

We'll, you, my friend, are a player I cannot play with. But, I'm glad you're having fun

you do realize im just having fun on your behalf because your post seemed so emotional :-)

tbh as soloq player i feel that post but you would be having way success if you made a guide for new players because i doubt you are going to change anyones mind by being that negative.

if they dont know you are not supposed to do something telling them no is not going to do anything but if you explain what it does and what the consequences are and what is more ideal option you will convert way more people from nubs to veterans

tldr in my opinion this post was completely useless as only people who know why you shouldnt do those things will read past the second sentence.

    keep at it champ

I’m pretty sure during PTB everyone said he’s fun to play as and play against, in fact a lot of Killers said he was weak and needed some buffs. Now all of the sudden he’s unfun. People in this forum love to complain and join the band wagon

He is still weak killer and needs a buff to map control but that doesent mean his downing potential isnt good. His problem is his insane downing potential being his only thing going for him. It is very very bs to play against but if you actually nerf it to fair level in his current state he is going to start being outshined by clown by alot.

Ofc in the ptb its fun when you play against new players and you can destroy them while playing with one hand. Now that the community has had time to play with an against him for more peoples opinions naturally evolve.

Give him extra power preferably map control so they can make his gun being fun to play against.

  • throwing is kinda fun tho

  • actual infinites with no bloodlust or entity blocker

  • If you remove chases from the game survivour has nothing to do expect hold W / M1 and occasionally pressing spacebar. The reason why there are survivours with thousands of hours is because of the interaction between players.

If they keep releasing more killers like ds and ph those players will eventually quit as they barely get to do the one thing that they play for. However new players will always flock to this game due to popular licenses so the playerbase wouldnt even look like it was suffering when all the veterans move on.

The reason why people find camping unfun and boring is that it ruins the game for all 4 survivours as the only one who got chased got GG the moment they got caught and everyone else has to think if its worth to even go do the gens or just afk to get to next match faster. I would love to be the one getting facecamped all the time when it happens as i atleast got the chance to get chased and get to go to new game faster than everyone else.

The reason people complain about boring killers is because they negate the reason why they play the game and only leave you staring at loading bars for 5-10 minutes. Every killer has same counter (split up and do gens as efficently as possible) but only few truly negate the fun aspect.

  • If you headshot the killer with pebble it should make the killers game automatically uninstall itself!

  • You can snowball the game after the gens are done or before a single gen is popped. More consistancy for the games is what you are looking for not gen time nerf.

DS, DH, SB, UB, BT. SC.

EDIT: Well, OK, you can still make a cheeky comment about NOED. But just 1. And it better be followed by "lol gg"

I think you should still atleast listen to those peoples arguments. Theres bunch of unfun perks on both sides.

to be fair, competetive itself is barely picked by players xD

as a spy main i can assure you though he is a LOT of fun to play, even if he isnt the most powerful.

I used to play alot of spy hes really fun but i wouldnt say hes not strong its just that in a coordinated enviroment his tools become extremely weak after the first pick.

  • pointless moonwalking even if it means throwing

  • Chases are as boring with killer if all you are doing is pressing w and occasionally space or in killers case m1. Go to unsafe loops take risks make the odds stack against you try to do subtle things to outplay the killer. You can just press w and space and do well with that but i think mostly everyone agrees thats really boring.

If only thing you would do as killer is never take any sort of risk to outplay the other side you would be bored out of your mind as fast.

  • Rank means how much you play each month nothing else. You barely ever depip but higher you go the more you need to do to pip. Ive seen rank 1s with under 100 hours and rank 15s with 4 thousand hours.

  • Would most likely destroy soloq experience and useless power in swf. Spy works in tf2 due to the chaos of 12vs12 clusterfucks of matches and even in competitive tf2 its barely picked.

  • If the people dont want to try and play they wont be much use either way the penalty does nothing.

So I’ve been playing survivor a lot recently rather then playing killer like I usually do. I was coming up with some ideas for new builds and was wondering if this was a good one to try out.

Windows of opportunity - For pallets and windows

    Bond - For survivors

    Visionary - For gens

Open Handed - To increase aura reading range

I wanted an aura specific build that gave me a little bit of everything. If you guys have any better ideas or perks to exchange then let me know. Or just let me know if this build is complete crap.

no deja vu so its a trash tier build

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1680477#Comment_1680477

Lol, exactly. “Boring” is code for “the killer didn’t let me escape”

By "boring" people mean there is heavily reduced counterplay which turns survivours into bots with extra functions. This is an multiplayer game and if you remove the interaction between the two sides you just removed the reason why people play this game.

  • @Entity_Lich94 said:

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I play survivor just as much as killer but I rarely ever see a killer actually properly do either of these things. Like maybe once or twice a month I'll come across one.

I know there's quite a few people on here that claim they get it constantly and say it's the biggest problem with the game right now and I honestly wonder if it is really that bad for some people.

Tbf some people's definition of what camping and tunnelling is can be very broad so I do take these claims with a grain of salt

It depens if you count when killers secure a sacrifice after last gen has been popped.

If it does count: pretty often.

    If it doesent: barely ever.

Depends, if the killer is bad then yes. But if both killer and atleast 2 surv are good then you get to fully experience dbd. And also builds, I love to use some healing builds

The amount of good players in this game is incredibly low most people arent bad just average. To get even 3 good players into a single match would be an incredibly long queue youll search even longer for games that are satisfactory. The average skill level of the playerbase naturally rises to an extent but it could be raised with actual useful tutorials ingame.

  • well you have to be below average to do bad consistantly so that would translate to being bad lol

  • @FFabeq said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1663374#Comment_1663374

I escape almost all the time, or do very well and get more than 20 k bp's. The thing is I don't have any fun playing with solo que teammates.

4 good survivours is extremely boring tho id rather play with 3 bots as then the game has any sort of challenge.

  • If you cant consistantly do well in soloq you are bad at the game ol.

  • @Chaoutzu said:

Can we come up with some kind of implementation that somehow deters killers from tunneling? From a survivor standpoint, you have to run a pretty limited selection of perks. There are no addons that give survivors the edge like there are for killers, and that's not up for debate.

I'm a rank 4 survivor, and for the past 2 weeks, over 90% of my games have a killer that camps hooked survivors, ruining the game for at least one person. I don't want to flame anyone, but I think something should be done. Unless you bring a full party of survivors, you have an EXTREMELY small chance of getting a decent amount of points. I brought bps to a match, 2 games ago. I was the first one found, and we went up against a billy. I lost him, we still had 4 gens to do, and he found a Claudette. Hooked her, then when she got unhooked, she was instantly downed and the other survivor nearby was ignored. The killer then just ran around the hook while I did gens, and the other 2 saved her. My brother was the one who unhooked her, and the billy was ignoring him just to get the claudette on the death hook. So, the killer got an INSANE amount of points for camping and tunneling Claudette. I believe we escaped, and got no one got more points than the billy with one kill. One kill is all he got, and somehow walked out of that match with 7k more points than the highest survivor.

Can we please stop rewarding killers for this behavior? Maybe a buff to gen speeds if the killer stays within a certain radius of the hooked survivor? Diminished returns on points for re-hooking within a certain time, that way killers can still re-hook, but aren't rewarded for it? I mean, a killer can facecamp a survivor, and if the other survivors aren't in a party and communicating, 1 or 2 others are going to try to save them. If they don't, then one person gets to watch the killer look at them all game till the entity comes down.

No, you need to actually reward killers for not tunneling and camping. Like or not camping and tunneling very often is necessary to win as you need to make the game 3v1 to have chance its ######### but you do not wanna lose either. Just give killers actual gameplay insetives to win like 12 hooks would actually be very good way to win instead of ill do it if the survivours are bad and i dont want to stomp. Devs might introduce bloodpoint incentives but that wont do anything aslong as removing one person from the game early raises your chances of winning as much as they currently do.
