Yeah, but when there was an equal amount, according to the devs, the queue times got really bad.

I don't trust the devs half the time. They do good here and there but it feels inconsistent. For every 1 thing they get right, it feels like they get another 6 things wrong.

  • The only thing I would liked changed about it is the random misshap. Once in awhile I'm mashing my spacebar and somehow the game thinks I'm not struggling at all then I get sacrificed.

  • When Freddy first released there was no PTB. When he came out survivors said he was op. Killer's said he was weak. Devs nerfed him. A week goes by and survivors learned how to play against him. Then Freddy was the weakest killer in the game for over 2 years before his rework.

So no, I don't think it would be better if killer's did not have a PTB. This lets BHVR test them before they release and survivors get a sense of what to expect from the new killer. So we don't have another Freddy incident.

  • I have to ask because you never know. Did you do something to provoke the killer? Not saying ######### killer's don't exist but usually killers do this because you did something to piss them off.

  • The only time I kill myself on the hook is

    • 2 people are dead, I'm on the hook and all the gens aren't done. I'll off myself so the 4th can find the hatch
    • Someone is "clearly" hacking. I say "clearly" because I see a lot of shady stuff in this game that could be explained. If someone is obviously hacking I leave.

Why are people still not using punctuation?

It's pretty hard to understand what OP is upset about when their paragraph is one long sentence without any periods.

  • Any game I play I am chill. Fun is my number 1 concern. I don't care if I lose a game so long as I had fun doing it. I want to win because I am competitive but I want to have fun doing it. If I have to resort to methods I fun boring then I usually play something else.

In Star Craft I don't just want to build marines/maurders/medivacs. Sometimes I want to build Ghosts and drop nukes on my opponent.

In Mortal Kombat or Overwatch. When I select a character to main I am not looking at what the pros are doing. I select a character not because they are the best but because I enjoy their play style.

In DBD I go into a match looking for fun. However if someone starts acting like a douche for no logical reason, I will return the favor in kind. I don't enjoy slugging the 3rd survivor so I can find the 4th. I will do that if the team were being jack ass's or showboating but most of the time. I just want to end it and start the next match.

I feel like these new accounts that have 1 post that make these threads with broken english are some kind of troll from another company trying to make this game seem worse (which isn't hard)

Other companies don't need to make this game appear worse. They just need to make a game that can actually compete with it and DBD will die.

I have written "/s" behind it, indicating sarcasm. But if we go for Perks which are used much, BBQ would be one of the first Perks to nerf.

That's what "/s" means? Good to know. I still think we need a font for sarcasm.

As for perks used too much equals a nerf. DS was on or near the top of that chart for a loooong time. It was reworked once before and it was still on top. I predict it will still be up there after the next change.

No. DS was abused. Unbreakable can't be abused really.

When DS gets nerfed to be a true anti tunnel, Unbreakable probably won't be as powerful. With the DS change, unless you are actually tunneling, there will probably be less slugging. So Unbreakable might not see much use. Unless the killer is running a slugging build.

    This is ONE aspect.

Otherwise, plz nerf BBQ, thank you. /s

BBQ has so many counters built it that it doesn't need a nerf. Most killers lack the mobility to truly make good use of it. If BHVR took off the BP bonus, less people would use it. Whispers is better IMO. You can't hide from that perk.

I'll ignore most of your solutions, but penalty because you suck at the game? So if a baby survivor gets matched with a rank 1 killer dies early, or gets tunneled then that means they deserve to be banned?

If a baby survivor gets matched with a r1 killer the MM needs to be overhauled(truth be told the MM needs it anyway) When people say "What happens if your a newb survivor/killer? That won't be fair" The new player can always git gud. This is why you don't balance around new players.

I've heard a lot of bad ideas on this forum, but this is probably the worst.

Ohhh trust me. I have seen even dumber ideas lol

  • Bubba is a newb stomper. All I can suggest is keep at it until you get good enough you pip every match and eventually you will run into less bubbas. Then you can complain about running into nothing but spirit :P

Bad teammates is just apart of solo que and there's nothing the devs can do to fix that. Only thing you can do about it is play with friends.

  • As a survivor I never used DS because I am a killer main and I despise the perk. I think DS will still be meta after it's change. It just won't be ab-usable anymore.

Most of the time I run WGLF+BT. An exhaustion perk. 4th perk depends on if I have a medkit. If I don't I bring IS, SC, Bond, or pharmacy so I can cure myself/find someone to heal me. If I do have a medkit I put on something like spine chill, kindred, dance with me ect.

  • I feel this mentality is BHVRs fault. Survivor's are used to getting what they want because they are the majority. It's not just killer's and their add ons that cause people to quit. I've had people rage quit because they were the first one to be found. I think we need a penalty for giving up on your first hook. Put in some requirement:

    • If your on your first hook, you struggle to kobe and fail, you do not even bother to struggle then you get a dc penalty.
    • If you were on the hook for a good amount of time and you struggled, no penalty. The killer could have been camping or your team just did not attempt the save.
    • If your killed within the first 4 mins of a match, dc penalty. You either suck or you gave up.
    • If your the last 2 people left in a match no penalty. I've gone an entire match without being hooked. It was down to me and one other teammate. I got caught. The killer was doing well so all gens weren't complete. I gave up on the hook so my teammate could find the hatch.
  • You don't need a buff to compensate every single time you get a nerf.

I feel like there's so many random sounds on Midwich too to help survivors. I know there are killers that can do well on Midwich but there are ones that are just completely useless on that map. It just amazes me that people hate a map THAT much that they'd rather eat a penalty than atleast wait to see who the killer is. I hate the Game map but I've never DCed on it, even when I had no HUD glitch against the Doctor. 😂

In the old days I remember when Billys would quit if it was Lerys or Haddonfield.

  • @AsherFrost said:

It seems like the OP's biggest issue, after reading through all this, is with their teammates. So I ask, why punish the killer for the selfishness and bad planning of your team?

Yes, a survivor dcing/suiciding on first hook is selfish, it harms their team because that person doesn't want to play anymore.

Camping as a killer isn't really selfish, just stupid, it's a 1 man team. He's not there to make sure every survivor has a good time, he's there to stop gens and hook survivors. If he loses enough matches he'll learn to play smarter.

This. When someone suicides on the hook I don't go easy. I play even harder because I want the remaining 3 to be upset. Then in the end game chat they all shout "Why you try hard?" and I tell them "Report your teammate that gave up. It's not my fault he quit on you"

  • I thought Midwich was bad if you were a killer? As a survivor I don't have any issues with it. As killer I hate it but I still don't dc. It's a nightmare when I play Nurse. 2 levels makes blink canceling almost impossible. You get caught on so much debris. Lot of dead zones you can't blink through without a full charge.

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

Yeah I said this everytime I saw a survivor make a play like that. They only have themselves to blame. Shame it ruins it for people like me that didn't abuse DS.

You will still be able to use it to buy you a 2nd chance. You just can't be aggressive with it anymore. I predict the perk will still be meta.

It is video game equivalent to losing in a sport but getting participation trophy

A comedian I watched once talked about participation trophies and I felt he hit the mark.

"Participation trophies are bull@!#$! You think you losers accomplished something? Winners don't just get trophies. They get p#@!y. Losers don't even get lotion."

  • Entitled survivors deserve nothing but to be sacrificed. They are salty because you are maining one of the killers that is actually a threat to them. Keep doing what your doing and ignore the end game chat.

Also I don't believe anyone is allowed to bully anyone.

  • If we are on opposite sides. Your fun is not my concern.

  • The problem with MMR is it means well but que times trumps everything else. There aren't nearly as many killers as there are survivors. When a group of 4 is waiting for 10 mins the MMR throws fairness out the window and chucks the first poor sap their way. Regardless if it's fair or not.

Don't think I only meet potatoes since I'm rank 1 for ages :p

"Fighting" as you say blinks mechanic is the thing that allows you, as a player, to always improve when you player her, I love that, and blinks are sometimes bugged (blinking above is pretty bugged, even if I think it's more than human misunderstanding, otherwise I'm confident while saying blinking is somewhat consistant), but now I know how to play her I know where I have to be cautious while blinking, it's a matter of experience.

    But hey

She's bugged uh ? Why does every experienced killer say she's the strongest killer in the game ? Why do OhTofu and SupaAlf 4k with Nurse every game ? Tell me ?

She's the strongest killer in the game because the survivors 1 trick pony doesn't work on her. I think that is the reason the devs have ignored her bugs for so long. Against a god nurse there's nothing you can do except gen rush. Those god nurses are only a handful. Against an good nurse you stand a fair chance provided your breaking los instead of treating her like a M1 killer.

and if you want to drag streamers into this. Otz and Ardetha released videos like a week ago playing as Nurse. Their power bugged every 5 blinks. Considering she literally needs her power to even catch survivors that's a pretty big bug. One time DS was bugged and they patched that within a week. It's been what? A year and a half since Nurse's rework and BHVR hasn't even acknowledged there's a problem.

If we want to go by their charts Nurse is the least picked killer. Does that mean we should buff her? :P

  • In my experience. Everything sends sore survivors for a loop.

  • @DoomedMind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2005681#Comment_2005681

If you say that, it means you never tried to main her (not play her for 3 days, I mean, play her for an entire month at least). Every serious Nurse main would 4k at least 90% of their games. She's fine, I had a hard time to learn how to play her, now I can literally manage the survivors hooks for them while winning at the same time.

She is my 2nd main. I know how to play her. When I use her I'm fighting the blink mechanics more than the survivors.

The reason you 4k 90% of your games as Nurse is because most survivors are potatoes who only know how to loop pallets. Pallets don't work against the Nurse. Heaven forbid they adapt for once.

  • A power that works only 50% of the time is balanced? Her power was balanced BEFORE her rework. Ever since they gave her a cd her power barely works. That's why she has the lowest pick rate. I don't like the CD but I can live with that provided the blinks worked when I used them. As of now her blinks don't work so her power is not balanced.

  • I stopped reading at "After the Nurse rework, her power is fine"

It has not been fine since her rework. Half the blinks glitch or fail to go through obstacles.

Next time you get salty survivors just say this:

    "Mad cuz bad, got it."

    Then leave.

Alternatively juat don't even bother with end game chat, it's just garbage.

When I get salty survivors I prefer to quote Tywin Lannister.

"A lion doesn't concern itself with the opinion of sheep" >.>

  • Be healthy. Have BT. Either wait for the killer to leave or be far away. Do not let them see your tracks. They will turn around if they do. If you get hit while making the save your just hook trading. Only go for a save if you can unhook before getting hit.

If the killer is hard camping the basement then don't bother. Do gens and get out.

  • Run WGLF or BBQ every single match. Use bps, escape cakes or survivor puddings when you can. That's all I can suggest. I periodically leave dbd for months at a time. Going on a year so far but I don't take breaks because of the grind. I take breaks over other issues.

I'm perfectly fine with the grind to get all perks you want on a killer/survivor. You used to only get 2 perks in the bloodweb at lvl 50 and you could only take 1. Now you get up to 4 and can grab 2. I find it is very easy to get a character to 50 in one day of playing provided your decent and have wglf/bbq. I DO however hate the grind to get the killer to P3 lvl 50 then get all their perks. Yes I know I don't have to prestige them but I feel I do. When I get a killer to 50 I could just continue to unlock perks for them but I fear that one day I might change my mind. I might say I want that bloody weapon and all those points I poured into him just digs a deeper grave.

Makes me wonder if you could get banned for blocking someone if someone exploits fat shames like this. I would have them blocked there until they DC. :P

If I could I might but part of me just wants to get it over with and move onto the next match. I had a hatch stand off once that last 10+ minutes. I just gave up because I could do a whole other match in that time. So glad we can close that thing now.

  • Considering how OP SWF can be. Against "that", ANY killer deserves respect.

I recorded this video way back before the EGC to record a fat shame spot. 2 other survivors opened the gates and were making noise to annoy me. They got what they deserved :P

  • If a survivor is bad in the chase maybe they should git gud?

You can always learn to loop. BHVR should never balance the game around new players(though they often do). Say someone can't loop so they put in some mechanic that makes even a newb loop a killer for at least 3 gens. Well what happens when that newb eventually learns how to loop? They are even more powerful at looping. Should BHVR then revert the change because you couldn't be bothered to learn? Then when you did they should change the game again? Just for you?

Pop, corrupt, STBFL and aditation. The last perk though is usually what I swap around depending on as do most. Thing is, Corrupt and pop are basically mandatory usually.

I play Trapper a lot- but I do so generally in hopes of getting destroyed so I don't even run those perks most of the time; I generally use trapper as a derank and chill killer before playing a killer I am new or rusty with.

Funny. My friend also plays trapper when he wants to derank but he keeps getting noobs and ends up ranking up. He even changes his name to We_Trap_Da_Basement and people still go down there.

    • Whispers
    • STBFL
    • Corrupt or PGTW
    • Devour Hope
  • If you think missing a range attack with PH is stressful try playing Nurse. Unlike PH you literally have to use your power every time you want to hit someone.

  • I thought Plague would be OP. Then we learned to simply never cleanse so she can't use her power.

I also thought Blight would be weak and boring but he is actually fun to use and can be viable.

Slightly off topic. Maybe we should make a similar thread titled "How many times did you say that patch was a bad idea and you turned out to be right?" lol

  • I feel Devour Hope is what all hex perks should be. High risk. High reward. It doesn't start out powerful and it can be countered. The killer needs to get several hooks before it even takes effect. It also does not give a notification at the start of the match. If survivors know it's on the field before the killer even hooked someone they will never get 3 stacks because they will drop what they are doing to cleanse it. If survivors die to Devour Hope it's because they didn't look for totems or the killer was lucky they didn't stumble upon it..

  • Personally id rather they don't touch him because I remember very clearly the Freddy that released. The one that was the weakest killer in the game, got nerfed anyway after release and stayed that way for 2 years before his rework.

  • Rank means nothing, it is easy for survivors to get carried and difficult to derank.

  • If the killer hooks someone and he saw somebody nearby or the team is very altruistic. So he decides to stay near the hook and wait for the save. That's camping.

If the killer hooks someone and stands right in front of the hook until they die. That's face camping.

If the killer hooks someone and goes away but not too far. He is checking gens and looking for other survivors but he can come back if a save is made. That's patrolling.

There are numerous reasons when to do this and when not to do them. Either way it's perfectly legit and it only works if the survivors are potatoes.

  • They didn't get the rights to the characters from the Scream movies. They just got the rights to the costume which is owned by another company. The characters from the movie and the costume are owned by 2 different groups. They would have to pay both for permission to use them. So they got the costume and invented someone to wear it.

  • It was Legion's map. I was Nurse just before her rework. I hooked someone near the shack. BBQ revealed someone on the opposite corner of the map. I blinked into the building to make my way to them. I literally landed on top of a Blendette and changed targets. In the chat they asked "How did you see me?" I explained I was going somewhere else and it was sheer luck I landed on top of her. Then they said "I'm Claudette. I'm invisible. You can only see me if your wall hacking. REPORTED!"

Another match I was Pig on Lerys before the EGC. I even have a video on my youtube account. I recorded it because one survivor was using a fat shame spot. Well the gates are open, 1 survivor is dead, 1 is standing in the fat shame where I can't get them and the other 2 are making noise near the gate. Due to them being cocky I manage to down 1 at the gate. I RBTed her and picked her up. The 2nd survivor is trying to body block to buy time. I ended up downing him too. I dropped survivor 1 and RBTed him before he could get out. I carry him to a hook and I hear a head pop. Survivor 1 tried to get out with a trap on their head and they reported me for that.

Sometimes the killer doesn't give you a choice really. Either you let them die and eat the negative altruism or you take a shot at getting them out of there. Alot of times letting them die is the smarter play, but it feels so shity you feel the need to try.

I agree sometimes the only way to attempt to save someone is right in the killers face. I'm talking about when the killer isn't camping. He is about to leave and someone makes a save when he is less than 10 meters away. At that point the rescuer should have waited a bit. There was no rush and the killer was leaving.

In that instance I do not blame the killer for turning back. He knows 2 people are close and one is injured. It's not tunneling if the survivor's present such an opportunity.

  • I almost always bring BT so I haven't had people moan that I didn't have it. I have been saved numerous times right in the killer's face by someone without BT. I don't scream at them in end game chat but I ask them

"Why would you save me without BT when the killer was right there?"

    "You should have brought DS"

My advice is never assume the survivor has BT or DS. Just don't make an unsafe save ever.

  • I used to but then I realized it wasn't solving the problem. In the old days where people could DC during the loading screen I went easy on people because it was a genuine DC. Nowadays majority of people who DC are rage quitting. When that happens I don't go easy on the remaining 3. I play as normal. In the end game chat I say "sry someone quit" but if they cop an attitude with me for not going easy. I tell them "Don't be mad at me. Be made at your teammate that rage quit the moment they got caught". I do that in the hopes that people will start filing reports against the quitting survivors instead of the killer. Very unlikely it will amount to anything but one can hope.

  • I watched one of Tr3's vids last night. Twice when he activated Main Event he got nothing out of it. The person he was chasing looped a rock and he could not keep up with them. Completely wasted his power.
