I wouldn’t say endorsed but yeah the game just discourage you from doing it. I’m just saying that it usually isn’t a good strategy as it is boring and it will cause you to lose easily against good survivors
I disagree. You act like tunneling is discouraged when there are numerous times where it will work in your benefit. There's far too many to list but one example.
- If I see your injured and being healed by someone. Other survivors are injured. I know you don't have DS, I was too far away for BT to proc and your on death hook. It is in my best interest to get rid of you. One less person working on gens takes a lot of pressure off me to hunt down the remaining 3.
Now for every good situation to tunnel there's just as many situations where it's bad to tunnel. By bad I mean it's hurting the killer more than helping them achieve their objective. It's all determined by circumstances.
- If I see your injured and someone is healing you. I suspect you have DS+BT+UB and all the other 3 survivors are healthy. In that case it's better for me to go after the person healing you. The time I waste chasing you will be for nothing because of all the 2nd chance perks. While all that is going on the other 3 are safely repairing gens. It is a more efficient use of my time to injure someone else or to interrupt the others working on gens. If I leave you alone you will likely heal yourself instead of doing a gen. If you do jump on a gen then you will forfeit your DS and I can freely go after you if we cross paths again.
The problem I see when talking about tunneling is people have different interpretations of what is considered tunneling. Most seem to think tunneling is completely ignoring 3 survivors to specifically go after 1. Others like myself feel there is no such thing as tunneling. If it is the best choice to complete my objective that is what I will choose. There's also the fact that I don't believe the devs have a clue how to balance their game. The devs do good work most of the time but there have been several instances where they made things worse. My issue with hooks vs gens is against decent survivors the killer is at a big disadvantage. Unless the survivors are making mistakes for the killer to capitalize on the survivors will finish 5 gens before the killer can get 12 hooks. The devs are trying to push killers to hooking everyone 3 times when it is nearly impossible to do that without a meta killer or mistakes are being made.

Why not? I needed a quarterback everyone knew, no matter where they are. I could say timmy from little league I guess to be more accurate, but I went for the easier comparison. (Full disclosure I only know the names of 3 quarterbacks, and of those 3 he's the only one who's still playing)
I think you make a valid point and they are just fishing for anything to say your wrong.

The Nurse may become unablFeatures
What does this mean?

I think DS will still be meta. The people who abused it will have to git gud. I don't think this perk will be useless like when they reworked MoM.

Wow, you got some great solutions here.
If you are homeless, buy a house.
I run kindred when I solo for this very reason. However even then randoms still refuse to do gens. There's already ways to punish hook camping but the survivors either don't know what to do or they want that save. It's not the killer's fault the survivor's are playing poorly and the devs can't do anything about it. No matter what counter they put in place it's useless if the survivors don't use it.

lol, maybe they would not camp if they didnt feel like gens go flying by, survivors using constant second chance perks like those, prolonging chases even tho the survivor commits a mistake, or does some dumb play, and dont get punish for it, have u tried not runing heavy gen defense, and going against competent survivors ? if you dont tunnel someone, u are getting 1k and 9 hooks, 90% of the times
This is something I don't think survivors understand. It's 4 vs 1. Your not suppose to be able to go toe to toe with the killer and stand a chance. Yet the devs keep giving them 2nd chance perks.

You’ll see less DS too. Then survs will use bt and you will see posts asking for bt nerf (you can see it now). Then you’ll see less bt and more prove thyself and you’ll see post asking for nerfs (you can see them now too). Then survs will use resilience, better than prove Thyself) and you ask for Nerfs.
same will happen with dh and sb.
in fact you can also see posts asking for nerfs to hatch, tapping a gen, loop, running, ...
That's the way the forums has always been. For both sides. Once one thing is nerfed they complain about something else. DS however has been complained about A LOT and for a very very long time. I don't think any other perk has been complained about more than DS. Not ruin, not undying, not spirit fury+enduring, bt, adren, dh, sc, noed, bqq. This change is a long time coming.
-
Nurse: Fix her bugs. Then she's good.
-
At least once the DS change gets here you will probably eat less DS's. If they do anything productive it will shut off their DS.

It also depends on the killer is using, meaning his perks a lot of people tend to level up other killers to use some of their perks.
also how well you play as him. Someone could be very experienced and play him very well.
i main Freddy but I don’t always get 4K and If I do or know I will by having a survivor or two left I usually let the last one go.
I played him for a bit when he first came out. Then stopped playing but started to play again.
I'm usually against any nerf to Freddy because I remember how horrible he was when he released. Now he's A tier at least. That was a rework done right. Id rather they not mess with that.

I say play Spirit and to hell with the survivor's opinions. They pushed you to this so they deserve it :P
The only reason I learned Nurse is I was tired of SWF bullying my Trapper.

i normally play 50/50 but i find myself playing killer alot more but man i have to ask
how do you put up with it?
the teabagging, the non tunneling yet you still get DS
survivors body blocking each other to save each other
i legit dont feel like a killer i feel like im just getting bullied
why can a survivor save another person off a hook even though i attack? i feel like i should be able to grab them even if their healthy like i dont even tunnel but they all hang around a hooked person so what do i do?
how do you deal with this??
how do you put up with it?
Insanity helps /Kefka laugh
the teabagging, the non tunneling yet you still get DS
When the DS nerf gets here at least I will only eat a DS if I was actually tunneling.
survivors body blocking each other to save each other
I've yet to see someone body block Bubba's chainsaw.
i legit dont feel like a killer i feel like im just getting bullied
Learn a meta killer. The only reason I learned Nurse is because people were picking on my Trapper.
why can a survivor save another person off a hook even though i attack? i feel like i should be able to grab them even if their healthy like i dont even tunnel but they all hang around a hooked person so what do i do?
If you want to make a grab you need to just press the M1 button as they are in animation. If you hold down M1 the game thinks your trying to lunge. Survivors know this and they try to bait your M1 to get you to swing. So they can make the save as your wiping off the blood from your weapon. I just trade with them. You could also run STBFL to try to get 2 hits in before they pull off the save.

At first I thought you were serious. As I was watching the video I was taking notes of things you did well and some other things you made a mistake. Then I saw that everyone escaped and realized you were being sarcastic :P

I've had enough of survivors feeling invincible with this perk. Sitting on generators right in front of the killer, unhooking right in front of me and shoving it in my face that they're untouchable despite there being absolutely no presence of tunnelling.
I can't wait for the nerf, such a dumb perk that SO many survivors use as a crutch./rant over
When the DS nerf gets here I might actually start playing again. I haven't really played for almost a year.
Can you imagine the amount of survivors that will suddenly suck without their offensive DS? It's like the days when BHVR added the exhaustion mechanic and survivors couldn't recover SB while running anymore.
-
Nurse needs a change alright but not to her add ons. They need to fix her bugs that have been here for a year and a half.
-
I'm fine if the guy with BT tries to body block me. I'll just wait the 10 secs or so and down him again. He wants to piss me off with BT he can kiss his DS away. If he doesn't have DS he's going back on the hook.
-
The game might as well not have a ranking system. It trys to find similar ranks but if it cant It just throws the first group of people together.

A MMR based off NOED? It's not exactly skill based. I feel bad for the Killers who are in lower ranks who want to have fun and play and instead they get put with Red rank survivors who can run them for such a long time because they don't know how to counter it. I played 5 killers in a row with NOED. 2 Dc'd and the other 3 got 1 Kill...it's not balanced matchmaking in my eyes.
If your losing to NOED maybe you shouldn't be rank 1?

In this community. There is a gross misunderstanding of the word "unfair". Often it is a word tossed out when someone loses a match and wants something nerfed. The only thing I consider to be unfair is something that goes against the rules set by the devs.
-
I don't mind if someone is streaming so long as it isn't giving an unfair advantage. As for streamers themselves, I might have bad luck with them but most of the ones I run into are salty. If there's a streamer with a flashlight, not doing gens and constantly tea bagging to get my attention. They are always the first ones to quit when they get caught. They fail a mind game, they missed their DS, anything that doesn't go right for them and they rage quit. Then the rest of the survivors get upset at me for not going easy on them. Despite the fact their teammate was the one who wronged them, not I.
-
Nurse is my 2nd main killer. I'm a good nurse but not a god nurse. I like playing as her but the bugs keep making me want to switch killers. It's pretty clear the devs have no intention of fixing her bugs. It's only been like 2 years since her rework and they haven't even acknowledged there's a problem. However if you git gud with Nurse it does feel like you are actually feared for a change. I learned her for when I run into a try hard swf and get demolished. It is nice to have the option to switch to a killer that will destroy anything in the next match. Is that worth the hassle of becoming a god nurse? I can't tell.
-
A killer was able to kill you. So therefore that killer must be OP?

I mean, comparing Trickster and Ghostface is already questionable, but comparing Exit Gates with both of them is nonsense.
@Topic:
It does not really make sense to compare those two Killers, since they work different. Ghostface has to sneak up and stalk, while Trickster is a ranged Killer. There are miles between them.
I was using it as a point to display how absurd this thread is. A more accurate comparison. Mikey can 99% his EW2 and pop EW3 whenever he wants. So because trickster can;t 99 his power does that mean Mikey needs a nerf too?
-
@Surikato said:
What about we nerf The Ghostface so that he cannot 99% stalk on specific survivors, since that's basically the same thing but an insta-down?
What about the survivors being able to 99% the gates? That's an insta escape.
Besides I have a feeling this killer won't need nerfs when he gets here.
-
I had a match on the game before the rework. This Bill kept running to this spot every time he heard my TR. When he was down I couldn't pick him up. He was doing that deliberately. Eventually his team left him to bleed out because I was using him as bait. I certainly file a report because that survivor looked like they knew it was there. They weren't moving when you tried to grab them so they had to have known something was wrong.
-
I admit it feels unfair at the moment. By the time you hook 1 survivor 3 gens popped. 1/16 of your objective was completed in the time it took them to do 3/5's theirs. However I don't think increasing gen times is the answer. The issue I find is while your chasing one survivor the other 3 are perfectly safe to work on gens. The game puts extreme importance on how fast you can make that first down and pressure someone else. That's why killers whose power helps them win the chase sooner are the meta.
- At the start of the match 4 people are on gens.
- You find someone and chase them. 3 people on gens.
- You hook someone. 2 are on gens and 1 is making a save.
- You chase someone before the save is made. 1 person on a gen, 1 being chased, one going for the save and 1 on the hook.
The way the game is designed the faster you down someone and chase another person, the better. If you can hook someone before 3 gens pop you stand a much higher chance of winning the match. If your like most M1 killers where you can only hook them after 3 gens are finished, the match is already half over.
The problem with increasing gen times are those moments where the killer is able to apply pressure and you feel like your at a stand still. I hope this early game warm-up the devs have been talking about for years actually does something.
-
I thought of head on and smash hit before they put them in the game. Also thought of Undying.

@BeardedScrub said:
For this game to be "balanced" most killer mains are asking to be able to kill 4 survivors most matches...
Even if you get 4 kills HALF of your matches and 2 kills your other matches, that averages out to 3 kills per match. That means 3 out of every 4 survivors won't make it!!!
In what world is that "balanced"?
In solo q, I don't know if our squad makes it out alive even 10% of the time. And in a full squad we maybe make it out 20% of the time.
When you get a killer with certain perks and add-ons, like Freddy, Spirit, even the Hag with her traps, these killers can be virtually impossible to beat.
Then we have killer mains on here whining all day because they are getting t-bagged...
If you aren't getting 2 to 4 kills every match (meaning the game is balanced towards killer) then you absolutely suck.
Of course we should nerf DS, and if we keep the game in the state it's in, n I'm okay, but please, if you are going to nerf anything survivor, nerf the traps of the Hag, nerf Freddy or the Spirit.
Yes we have a problem with q times. That's the only reason why they cater so much to killers. They have to or the game won't survive so I'm okay with it. But killers: a successful match isn't 4k or bust, and again, if you aren't getting 2k or more in most matches, you suck, even my friend who's new to the game can play underpowered killers and get 2 kills each match
This is why the devs should play their own game at high ranks. So they can make their own decisions when it comes to balance. I hope to the entity they don't read this guys thread and assume he knows what he's talking about because clearly he doesn't.
-
I hop on before rank reset to derank or play swf for like an hour but I'm mostly gone. I haven't really played since the shutdowns started and lord knows I got time. That's how I feel about the game right now. I'm home even more than usual and I'd rather play something else. The DS change might bring me back for a bit but unlikely. I've had 10k shards before Twins released and I don't even want them. I don't even want trickster either. The last 2 killers released didn't even convince me to come back.

Killers do the same thing when it comes to camping and tunneling. It's not the killers concern whether or not the survivor has fun, well buddy let me tell you something it cuts both ways
Thats what I'm saying. Either side should not concern itself with the other side having fun. Yet we have tons of threads saying "I'm not having fun so something should be nerfed!" When I want something nerfed or rework I give legitimate reasons for my wants. Not just "I'm not having fun and that's reason enough!"
-

By that logic since swf are on opposite sides killers fun are not their concern. Right...
Yes but SWF doesn't seem to think that. What surprises me is the amount of people who think the killer should alter their play style so the survivors can have fun. Meanwhile survivors are allowed to do whatever the hell they want without concern for the killers fun. Double standard?
-
TL:DR
Not gonna happen. If there was an option to turn off being lobbied with swf. Then SWF would never get a match. Literally every killer would toggle that option to OFF.
-
My go to Nurse build is BBQ for tracking, a slow down perk, MYC and the 4th is whatever I feel like. Franklins for items, nc, sloppy butcher ect. Hook someone, leave, if I don't see anyone by the time a rescue is made I go back to the hook. Search for the person who made the rescue because they are exposed.
Since you don't have dlc I suggest the following. Whispers for tracking. My biggest issue with Nurse is finding people. Unless they are great at blocking LoS the chase doesnt last very long. Whispers not only tells you where survivors are but it also tells you where they are not. Sloppy butcher for longer heals paired with Nurse's Calling will make people 2nd guess healing themselves. Thana could slow things down but there are better perks. I highly suggest saving up shards and keep an eye on the shrine for ruin, pop goes the weasel or corrupt intervention. Like all killers you are susceptible to gen rush and these perks slow down the game so you can catch those pesky survivors.
-

https://youtu.be/fX1CgCqKJOo
This survivor found a fat shame spot on Lerys years ago. They stood there healing and it was impossible for me to catch them. I had no choice but to break off and chase the other 2 which I caught by sheer chance. Then this person got the hatch which was right next to the spot. This was before the EGC and closing the hatch.
https://youtu.be/ljyVZ98TA1wThis video is pretty dark because geforce's shadowplay doesn't upload to youtube very well -.-
This guy found a spot he could crawl on top of and it was impossible for me to pick him up. Every single time I got even close to this guy he would run to this spot. Eventually I used him as bait to injure everyone else. He died of blood loss after people stopped trying to heal him.
You think you should be allowed to abuse exploits and ruin someone's game because the devs haven't patched it yet? Your some kind of special and I don't mean that in a good way.
-
Unless I felt someone was being a douche I almost always say GG. I never say GG EZ. To me saying EZ is like saying "You suck". If a survivor is killed early it's unlikely they will stick around to watch the match. Unless they are in a swf they will likely move on and que up again.
-
Sadly this is why killers whose power helps them in a chase are top tier.
-
and survivors wonder why killers stack slow down perks.
