Technically farming is bannable. So if you accept to farm both parties were breaking a rule to begin with.

Cause for sure I am not spending real money for the trash the twins are and even less for trickster, keep going and you'll lose even more money, make good content and you'll get money, that's how it works.
The problem is there are plenty of people with more money than brains. If people would stop buying it they wouldn't make it.

Old NoeD and old Machine Gun was up there
Ruin + Undying was also a VERY strong combo, there's no denying that.
I wasn't around for old noed or machine gun builds. I started just after that. I do remember old MoM -.-
-
I've had the game for 4 years maybe. I mostly play killer but I spend a lot of time in swf. I hardly ever play solo survivor.

Exploits endorsed by the devs. Ie mercy super jump.
ty. Makes sense now because I've seen the mercy jump.
@Crowman said:
I don't see how it's an exploit as it's clearly intended by the game that killers can't pick up survivors being healed.
An exploit would be crawling under something like a hooked survivor and abusing broken hitboxes to prevent the killer from picking you.
I've seen such spots. I hope they get rid of them soon. One match on The Game I had a Bill on the 2nd floor. Every single time he heard my TR he ran to this one spot next to a rack. When I downed him he would fall on the rack and it was impossible for me to pick him up. He kept doing this throughout the game. I eventually started using him as bait for anyone making a rescue. The randoms he was with caught on and left him for dead. He eventually bled out. Was pretty ironic yet poetic justice.

I feel stupid for asking this since I've been gaming for 35 years but what does tech mean? I hear people talking about the term all the time.

"DS Nerf-Was it needed?
YES!

I know you said "No killer perk has come close", but remember pre-nerf MoM? Now that was busted, especially when used with DS.
But besides that, I'd argue pre-nerf Ruin might've been the closest contender to that claim. As of current perks it'd probably be Undying until it's nerfed... maybe.
Yes Pre nerf MOM was a dumb idea by the devs. Especially when combined with DS+BT+Adren. I do not miss those days.

NOED and Ruin can be, and are nearly always, cleansed.
BBQ isn't a great perk, killers run it for the Bloodpoints. I'd rather run Thrilling Tremors over BBQ.
If they took the BP bonus off BBQ I wouldn't use it on most of my killers. Whispers is my favorite tracking perk. It's on all the time and they can't hide from it.
-
This seems to be a reoccurring trend with BHVR lately. Every killer that comes out is either garbage or broken on PTB and upon release. After a month of tweaks they might make crappy tier. Even rarer for them to hit viable. I think they are fresh out of ideas and they are afraid to make a strong killer.

NOED, BBQ, Hex: Ruin, need I go on.
Yes you do need to go on. Please explain how any of those perks are even close to DS in terms of strength.

@SasukeKun said:
Yall need a new perk to crutch on, git good, all these people complaining is honestly just proof of how bad it was abused.
/salute
Sure we complained when they reworked ruin and they destroyed undying but if you think about it. No perk killer has ever had was even close to the power of DS.
-
Trickster is garbage. Most of us said that in the ptb. Once in a great while were wrong but with this game. Were right more than were wrong. I have shards saved up and i dont even want trickster. Huge let down.
However i am happy with this patch just for the DS change. Ive been wanting this for so long i can overlook the terrible killer.
-
The devs love to take something away when they give something good. The ds change is what this update was really about. Maybe they gave us a ######### killer as compensation because they knew in advance survivors would be pissed. Im happy with this update. Just not the killer.
-
I thought this was going to be a joke thread.
"I understand how to win with trickster. Pick someone else"

@Mattie_MayhemOG said:
Maybe the terminology is what is upsetting everyone. DS isn't as much anti-tunnel as it is tunnel punishment. Sure, if a killer still wants to tunnel you they will but to say it only prolongs a chase by 5 seconds is wrong. It resets a chase completely and give the survivor another chance to waste the killers time. The point is to make the killer pay for focusing one one person no matter what. To that end DS is effective.
New DS means if the killer is tunneling he will get punished. Where as old DS the killer got punished even if they didn't tunnel.
-
@MadLordJack said:
It's quite funny how so many people are complaining about tunneling now that the anti-tunnel perk can't be abused.
It's almost like people weren't using it because of tunnelling...
They weren't using it because of tunneling. They were using it for 1 min immunity. The irony is it still serves as anti tunnel. So how can they say tunneling is getting worse?
-
Maybe BHVR released a ######### killer as compensation for finally taking survivor's most abused perk away?

When freddy got release he was so strong he got nerf to oblivion 2 or 3 year later they rework him into the killer we have today so in a way you are right in 2 or 3 year trickster will be viable
I can't tell if your being sarcastic. When Freddy first came out he was the weakest killer in the game and the devs nerfed him anyway. It wasn't until his rework 2-3 years later did he become good.
-
It's Freddy all over again.
New killer comes out. Everyone says he's weak. What does BHVR do? Nerf him.
-
Give it a month, you'll adjust. Just like when they added the exhaustion mechanic so you couldn't recover spring burst while running.
-
So long ab-usable DS. Let it burn!!!!!!
-
There's a reason I didn't unlock him. Same with the Twins.
-
That didnt take long
-
I think we need clearer indications of what is a win and a loss. If a survivor escaped at the end through the hatch but did absolutely nothing the whole match. To me that does not count as a win.
-
I'm fine with BT because I remember when it applied to both survivors. Now if someone want's to BT save in my face usually the rescuer takes their place,
Sprint Burst I don't hate so much as I hate how some survivors use it. I don't like it when a survivor walk away, waits for me to get close and then takes off. You could have just ran from the start and get more distance on me. It's like teabagging. It's not necessary. Your just being rude.
Never had an issue with left behind but like BT I got into the game before it was reworked to what it is now.
Dead hard I am mixed. Most of the time I can bait it and it does nothing. For those times when that little distance gets them to yet another pallet and the chase continues. It can be really annoying. When I play Nurse it feels like I have to hit people 3 times to down them.

Twins are really boring and weak but Blight is not bad. If you meant Trickster we cant buy him yet
Yes. Since trickster is coming out very soon I was using him as an example. Blight chapter was okay.
-
Playing any competitive game at night usually ends badly. After dinner towards midnight are when the try hards come out.
-
Not to mention the last 2 chapters weren't any good. I got enough shards to unlock the 2 newest killers and I don't even want them.

Good for you how about you voice an actual opinion
Your post isn't worth my opinion. Your just another survivor complaining your broken perk is finally being adjusted. DS has been broken since it's introduction and this change will be good for the game. The same when they first added exhaustion mechanic, when syringes+BNPs were nerfed, when they removed infinities and double pallets. These were all things that made the game better as a whole.
-
I stopped reading your post after the 4th period that should have been in your first sentence.
-
TL:DR
Have the devs confirmed the DS change is coming out tomorrow? Or are we just getting our hopes up?
-
I know for a fact there will be threads demanding the devs revert the DS change. Anytime they make a major change like this there are people who yell at it. Regardless if the change is actually good for the game.
Evil Genius 2 comes out tomorrow so I'll be playing that instead. When I'm done with it I might come back to killer. "might".
-
It's a hex perk. That alone should tell you it's weakness.

It ruins the game for the person that that's getting hard tunneled/camped. That's the point. There's not much that survivor can do.
They can try to waste as much of the killers time as possible. This buys the other 3 time to do gens. If they do their job well enough that killer will get 1k. Maybe 2 if they are running NOED. They will get next to no bloodpoints and they won't even safety. Do it enough times and two things will happen.
- The killers will realize "This isn't working. Maybe I should try hitting other people?"
- or you'll rank up and you will run into these newb killers less.

I think we all know that there's not a lot you can do against a facecamping or tunneling killer (especially solo). You're probably gonna die if the killer does that.
I must not know everyone who plays this game because I know exactly what to do if a killer is face camping or hard tunneling me. I admit it's not fun but it's not good for the killer either. Provided the other survivors make use of the time the killer is wasting. If randoms don't know what to do when the killer is face camping that's not the games fault. There are solutions to tunneling/face camping. Just because randoms aren't doing it doesn't mean it's uncounterable.

The new ruin is now consistently good so long as you can pressure the survivors which makes it a more balanced perk imo
I agree new ruin promotes healthy gameplay. It rewards the killer for pressuring the gens. The only downside is many killers lack the mobility to do that effectively.

I’d mostly agree until you fought the squad you could hit consistent greats. Then it became worse than thana
Since corrupt intervention got released I used that instead on my trapper
I use corrupt on my trapper too. So the ruin nerf didn't hit him too hard. However since old ruin was useless against good survivors I don't see the need to rework it. Sure it was strong against new survivors but it wasn't unbeatable. Even if you couldn't hit great skill checks you could still just power through it. They have to learn to play sometime.
-
When I play with randoms and the killer is plague. I'm usually the only one who is not cleansing. I think the majority of survivors just don't know it's better to stay sick then give her a ranged attack.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Ruin is stronger now if the killer is playing well. Old ruin was strong against new players
For slower M1 killers, like my trapper, old ruin was better.
-
Thou has seen the light.
-
The DS nerf is the thing I am looking forward too. I might actually come back to playing killer again.
-
When a survivor teabags+flashlight clicks to get my attention. Then when they get caught they DC.

Which is why solos need different kind of conditions compared to SWF. And the ranking system needs to be completely overhauled, so those Claudettes who touch 1 generator, farm 1 person, break 2 bones and then hide for hatch keep deranking into oblivion and stay at rank 20 where they belong. Rank needs to actually mean something.
Yes, the ranking system needs to be thrown out and redone. There are too many "red" survivors that shouldn't have left green ranks.
-
@AsherFrost said:
Increase the DC penalty.
I would double the existing penalty track. Also double the amount of bloodpoints the killer receives when they dc, so they get something out of having to deal with that.
Part of me wants to increase the DC penalty depending on how long you've been in a match. If your in a match for several minutes and then DC. Odds are something pissed you off and you quit. But that would only make genuine DCs worse.

But yet that wastes up a perk slot, so even if they did use that information youd be at a major disadvantage. Plus, a callout system as I suggested would help you tell people where youre going, if youre in a chase, etc, as well. Any ingame queue could theoretically be applied to it.
I feel randoms should just get better and the devs can focus on other issues. Like the various bugs.
-
git gud?

Yknow the buff I was thinking of was a loose means of communication via a small callout menu, consisting of "going to save", "doing gens", "need healing", etc.
Also, you can beat anyone in this game outside of the top .1% of Survivors, who are also playing together, who are also playing sweaty. Even if the 4 man knows what they're doing. You just need to know more.
Plus, you ignore the Killer's ability to improve. Even the best players make mistakes, and part of being a Killer is making the most of them.
When I solo I run Kindred for the sole purpose to give randoms a warning if the killer is face camping me. They still stand there waiting for the killer to move instead of doing gens. As I said before. It doesn't matter what buffs or information we give them if they aren't going to use it.
-
My favorite type of survivor are the ones that dc for whatever reason and they act like theyre the victim.

I miss the old ruin it put the skill back into skill checks. I also felt like I could rely more on my teammates at red ranks. Now I'm lucky if they even attempt to touch a gen or not go down instantly.
Same. It feels like since the ruin rework, the amount of newb survivors in red ranks went up. I see rank 5 survivors who drop pallets prematurely. Makes me ask "how did you make it this far?"
