  • Unless someone is hacking or real life stuff happens I dont approve of any dcs.

Noed is basically the killer equivalent of hatch. Both are activated endgame regardless of how you have done as a player. Or a bit earlier if you have a key. And both are counterable, killer find and close the hatch or survivor find and cleanse totem.

I think the best change to noed I’ve seen someone suggest is that it builds tokens with hooks. More hooks = more instadowns so you could argue they’ve been earned

Not true. NOED can be removed before it ever comes into effect. Hatch on the other hand cannot be removed until it pops up. Unless the killer knows where it is before hand, the survivor can still escape.

NOED is perfectly fine the way it is. 90% of the people complaining about it are solo. The real issue is the quality of random teammates.

You have to understand that the Pyramid Head benefits from the choice to not run those perks.

Survivors go against a random Killer when they enter a game, and will often use similar builds every time outside of experimenting or messing around. They have no such choice to change their perks to ones that aren't hook reliant.

Wow. Thats amazing a killer that I hate needs buffed what's new

I'm not saying PH needs a buff. I was just pointing out his cages also can hurt him sometimes. Most of the time I hardly use the cages. If I torment someone I leave the status on them for later. I only cage if I suspect DS+UB, there's other survivors nearby and I want to get the down person dealt with fast or they are on dead hook.

Play solo Survivor against a sweaty Nurse running Ruin + Undying, BBQ and Corrupt or Infectious Fright. Tell me this game is balanced then.

Both sides have something that simply outclasses the other, yet seeing both of these things are so rare it might as well not exist. I somehow highly doubt you go against a sweaty 4 man SWF every time you play, who actually genrushes. If you play a Killer with any map presence at all, and get good with them, you will see how you simply aren't as much of a victim to this games "crappy balancing" as you say.

Solo sucks, yes. A 4 man swf sucks, also yes. However unless the killer is running a meta killer+ perks hardly anything beats 4 man swf that knows what they are doing. The difference is solo can always improve or find friends to play in a swf. No amount of git gud will do against a competent swf unless they make mistakes for the killer to capitalize on.

Buffing solo isnt the answer. Any buff you give them can also buff swf making the real power role even more powerful. Besides you can give solo all the information and help in the world. If they lack the talent to utilize it nothing will change.

Pyramid Head hard counters pallets and windows just by putting his sword into the ground. He doesn't need a buff.

Also, fun fact, his cages completely ignore the following:

    • Decisive Strike
    • Borrowed Time
    • Unbreakable (if you want to continue pressuring after getting a down and don't want to go to a hook)
    • Deliverance
    • Second Wind
    • Slippery Meat
    • We're Going to Live Forever (same as Unbreakable)
    • We'll Make It

Don't say it doesn't benefit him at all.

There's also perks for killer the cages deny.

    • Devour Hope
    • MYC
    • Huntress Lullaby
    • BBQ
    • Dying Light
    • Furtive Chase
    • PGTW
    • Blood Warden

Anything that requires a survivor to be hooked, the cages don't give it.

  • @Sluzzy said:

That is a side effect of what happens when the game is balanced around a 4man SWF genrush and constantly buffing killers. Solos don't have any chance to win against a decent killer. Survivors have been nerfed too much.

Play killer against a 4man SWF genrush and try to explain to me how this game is balanced.

  • I have a hard time telling if someone on this forum is being serious or sarcastic.

  • normally id say "you don't get such a long ban unless you DC often" but if what you say is true. I don't understand how you got such a long ban if you haven't dced in many days. Maybe the game requires you to play X amount of matches for the DC multiplier to go away?

  • I played swf with 2 friends today and last night. We must have played for a total of 5 hours. Since I haven't logged on to accept my derankings my survivor is still 9. They were 15 and 17. We each have like 1k hours.

Every single killer we got was a rank 15-20 and completely new. I felt bad for them.

i disagree. i think dbd is actually fairly balanced, def not as bad as people say.

Killer is just harder to play.

I disagree that the game is balanced. The game has improved but against a swf that is making zero mistakes. The killer will always be out played. The killer is suppose to be the power role because it's 4v1. Right now the killer is only the power role if the survivor's make mistakes for him to capitalize on. If both sides play optimally the killer will lose.

  • It's not unbeatable but it's certainly not in the killer's favor.

  • I was survivor and the killer was bubba. He was chasing me for a good while because he flat out refused to M1. He wanted that chainsaw down. Maybe it was a daily? Anyway he revs the chainsaw and starts sprinting to me as I am looping a rock with a pallet. I thought he had me that's how close it was. I dropped the pallet and somehow it stunned him without breaking the pallet. Then he rage quit.

As killer perhaps the most evil thing I did was this one match as trapper. I was playing pretty poorly. The gates are open, everyone is alive and the 4 are farming points before they leave. One guy I was chasing managed to step in a trap I set early game in a place no one was exploring the entire match. I downed him and waited. Mainly pretending to use him as bait. I picked him up and hooked him. 1 person left as soon as I picked him up. 2 healthy and 1 on the hook. I immediately walk away. They make the save and I go after them. They body block and I take the bait. I get 2 hits in but not the injured survivor. They all get to the exit, teabag and then realize I was using Blood Warden. I just stood there watching as the timer ran out. Turned a 0k match into 3k. Even in the end game chat they said "That was awesome".

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Honestly, a 5th perk slot would benefit survivors much more than the killer.

    Imagine:

    Dead Hard,Iron Will,DS,BT,Unbreakable

    No thanks 🤢

This is how I feel. As a killer it would be nice to have a 5th perk but I feel the cons outweigh the pros. The survivors will in essence get 20 perks instead of 16.

  • I want him to be S tier. If he's going to just be another M1 killer SWF can easily bully id rather not have him in this game. Remember when Freddy first released?

  • I thought Blight would be weak but I was wrong about him. Trickster however, I'm still convinced he is weak.

    1. As soon as men decide that all means are permitted to fight an evil, then their good becomes indistinguishable from the evil that they set out to destroy.

  • I don't really watch streamer so I wouldn't notice. The last chapter was awful and the next one isn't very inspiring either. I can't blame them for moving on.

  • A moment of silence for the DS abusers /phone rings

  • I know a chapter sucks when I HAVE 9000 shards and I don't even want the new characters.

I dislike facing stealth killers, but to be honest that's just because I'm not good at spotting them before they get me. I don't want them to be changed in any way, as the solution is just to face more and get better.

I'm similar with Billy/Oni/Bubba. I don't want them nerfed but I hate facing them because I suck at 360 juking their one shot. As for stealth killers I like going against them. A nice jump scare is appreciated in a horror game.

  • It's good and it's bad. It's good that it benefits killers that are applying pressure but some killer's are better at that than others. It also acted as a barrier for newb survivors. From my experience, ever since it was reworked I feel the amount of "red" survivors that make noob mistakes has sky rocketed. When old ruin was in place these noobs didn't complete generators and they stayed in the yellow/green ranks where they belonged.

  • @Tillablerhino44 said:

Yes but tool boxes were amazing now there worthless except for hooks

Tool boxes were nerfed because ruin was nerfed. Ruin stopped tool boxes from burning through a gen because majority of survivors can't hit great skill checks. When Ruin was destroyed that 3 month period it took them to adjust tool boxes was hell. All 5 gens were done in like 4 mins. The amount of killer's took a nose dive because it was unfair. If survivor's learned to hit great skill checks your tool boxes would still be powerful once ruin is cleansed. But no. You didn't want to git gud and screamed "Ruin OP Plz Nerf!"

  • They're fix GF as soon as they fix Nurse's bugs :P

  • Did you know Ruin use to regress every time you failed a great skill check?

  • @UnentitledBunnyMan said:

    Except in this game u r not a lion, u r a play thing, a freak show

Which is why I'm glad DS is getting really reworked this time.

  • Top

Trapper. If it's a smart trapper I don't feel bad if I step in a trap. I feel like I got outplayed fair and square.

Nurse. A good nurse keeps you on your toes and is fun to go against. A bad nurse makes you feel guilty afterwards.

GF. Always like jump scares. This is a horror game after all.

    Wraith. See above

Billy. Now that his chainsaw overheats he can't just bloodlust me with it revved until he can one shot me.

    Bottom

Plague. 90% of the time when I face a plague I'm the only one who IS NOT cleansing.

Bubba. Most bubbas I run into a face campers. If I'm with randoms it sucks.

    Legion. Constantly healing

Deathslinger. I suck at dodging his shots.

Clown/Doctor. I put them together because their power is similar. It just really sucks when you make it to a loop and get dropped because your slowed or zapped.

  • I don't feel solo needs to be buffed so much as swf needs to be brought down. Solo sucks. I will not argue that but the solution starts with randoms getting better. You can give them all the info in the world and they will still find reasons not to use it.

  • I'm having flashbacks of when DBD was adding the exhaustion mechanic. All those threads of survivors saying it was a bad idea and the game will die if they go through with it. That was a few years ago, the game is still running and it is in a better state than it was. I predict the DS change will be the same. There will be a dip in salty survivors for awhile but the amount of killer's returning will probably more than compensate that loss. The perk will probably still be meta. Only the killers that are actually tunneling will get hit by it.

  • For me the best feeling is

    • when your having a bad match.
    • The gates are open,
    • the timer is at half,
    • you manage to hook someone,
    • they make the save,
    • they BT+body block all the way to the exit gate
    • they stop to teabag multiple times
    • then realize your running Blood Warden
    • You stand there bobbing your head for 20 seconds
    • the entity takes them all :)

I would have wanted to record that match if I knew that was going to happen.

  • Piggy's traps already took a big nerf when the EGC was introduced. Back then a trap didn't have to be activated to stop you from walking out through the gate. It was quite common to save 1 trap for the end to keep someone in the match. Now it's pointless to save any.

Like others have said. Your team screwed you over by not leaving so you could find hatch. Pig doesn't need to be nerfed because you didn't have fun. No killer needs to be nerfed because someone isn't having fun.

  • I've been playing other games since the shut downs started.

Few years ago I bought a nice gaming pc so I only play console games to keep in touch with friends who don't have PCs.

Phoenix Point came out on steam last Dec. It's okay. I enjoy it because I'm a XCOM fan.

Doom Eternal released their part 2 of dlc. Was okay. Too short.

Last year I bought a PS4 just for the FF7 reboot. I was a playstation guy until xbox 360 came out. My brother assumed is get a ps3 so he bought a xbox 360 so we could play those games. I bought him Gears of War and after playing coop split screen with him, I switched consoles. Been playing some playstation games I missed out on. Like god of war 3 and the reboot, Last of Us, Bloodborne, Until Dawn. I just checked PSNow. Just finished 3 of the 4 Sly Cooper games. Might do another playthrough on Bloodborne.

I'm waiting for Evil Genius 2, Darktide, Hell Architect and Humankind to come out. Someone needs to reboot Legacy of Kain or remaster Soul Reaver.

  • Nope. They have plenty of counters and if they fall for it, it's on them.

  • 1:Claudette. Blends in with everything.

2:Spirit. Not because I hate going against her but I hate it when I get dailys for her. I suck with her and I play Nurse.

    3:BNP

4:Torn bookmark. What is the point of a 3rd blink if you can't go through walls?

5:Hawkins. No tall grass. My trapper doesn't like that.

6:The veil that causes all survivors to spawn separate. Just makes them do gens faster. If they are on the same gen I can disrupt that.

    7:OoO

8:Furtive Chase. WTH is the point of a smaller TR "during" a chase? They already know you are there.

  • Only newbs and noobs think rank is important. I stopped judging by rank the first time I got a squad of 20s and they were all using meta perks. Clearly a group that took a long break and came back. It could just be me but since the ruin rework the amount of red survivors has quadrupled and most of them can't even loop. I constantly get red survivors that drop a pallet, I plant a trap right there, then they vault the pallet and step in the trap. "Really? You just saw me plant that. How did you get out of green ranks?"

  • @Yords said:

I didn't feel like giving a proper response to another one of these threads.

If you can't handle reading the end game chat, then turn off the chat.

I doubt every single game you get has a tunneler or face camper, in fact that sounds like a lie because that is not at all true.

Saying only killers are being toxic is just wrong, I am sorry but that is the truth. Both sides are equally toxic and if we are being logical here, there are far more toxic survivors than killers since they make up most of the playerbase.

DBD whether it looks like it or not is actually in the most balanced state it has ever been in, despite several pressing issues that haven't been solved yet.

    "Both sides are equally toxic"

While I agree both sides are toxic but seeing as how there are 4 survivors for every killer. It really feels like survivor takes the biggest slice on that pie chart.

  • @ClownIsUnderrated said:

I'm done playing fair honestly, the gloves are basically off when it comes to those god complex survivors. Play however you would like to, and if the survivors get salty then you know you did a good job. Must not feel good to them when the shoe is on the other foot, but it's fine for them to "bully".

"A lion does not concern himself with the opinion of sheep"

Tywin Lannister pretty much sums it up for me.

  • I don't think both sides agreed ruin+undying was boring. In fact many M1 killers loved that combo because it took a lot of pressure off them so they could enjoy the match.

Both sides did agree Nurse add ons were OP and had to be reworked but look how that turned out. Thank you devs -.-

Love the FF8 reference. Been a long time since I played that game. I don't even remember that quote.

I deal in absolutes, I need definitive answers don't gimme so many options wahhh jkjk

what exhaustion do you prefer bc I tend to flip between dead hard and sprint burst. As for the 4th what do you tend to use more often? I only ask bc I'm usually so indecisive and can never make up my mind on things. Plus I wanna new survivor build to use.

Much love Joshua ;) I see u around here alot

As for which exhaustion perk I prefer. I like Dead hard but it really sucks when I go up against a bubba/billy that only uses their chainsaw. Been switching it out for SB for those "oh shi@" moments. Like when GF sneaks up on me when I'm working on a gen. Sometimes to mess around I'll use dance with me+lithe or q&q+head on.

I'm gonna be honest,i've had a nice Nurse streak and thought i'm pretty decent with her but then i got a team that actually knew how to play against Nurse, had really good movement and were really hard to read and suddenly i realized i might be not as good with her as i thought i was lol

But yeah, most survivors struggle playing against Nurse because you almost never face her.And if you do it's either a baby Nurse or a god Nurse

When I face a survivor that loops the outside of the shack. I know it's going to be a rough match. Also if the map has corn Im screwed. Corn is my kryptonite.

  • I find the over whelming majority of survivors don't know what to do against a good nurse. Perhaps it's because of her super low pick rate. I can't count the # of supposedly red survivors that try to pallet loop her like she is an M1 killer. When you face survivors that know how to juke and block LoS. You find out pretty quick how good or bad you are at Nurse

Despite Scott's video (and i heavily agree with him) People are still going to act the way they are

Oh I agree. But the wiser of us can understand most people's arguments are full of salt and #@!$.

  • There's also instances where the killer may not mean to tunnel but it just sort of happens anyway. Scott Jund made an excellent video about this,

    https://youtu.be/noLG0TucFGs

  • Survivor

    • WGLF
    • BT
    • Inner Str
    • Dead Hard

    Killer

    • Whispers
    • Devour Hope
    • MYC
    • NC
  • Run kindred, play with friends or rank up. You will find less face campers at higher ranks because it only works on newb survivors.

  • 1: Instrumentation Scientist. My job description says that but if you were to ask me. I am more like a scientist's minion. I have about 3 years of college education but it's all scattered and not in any particular field. There is a lot of work in a lab that does not require a Phd. You need training but you don't need to go to college for 7 years to be able to do it. So they get minions like me to learn how to maintain things so they can do their experiments uninterrupted.

2: I only have like 3k posts but if you were to add my posts from the steam forums it's probably up to 6k. I was banned from the steam forums for voicing my opinion too many times. I actually didn't mind because of how toxic the forums can be.

3: Had the game for 4 years but didn't make an account on this forum until I started my current job. The first month I was shadowing people and learning a lot of stuff. Then due to management not doing their job I was never assigned a project. For 6 months I came to work and sat at my computer with nothing to do. I read 6 books that had nothing to do with my job and I was getting paid. I was very vocal about not being assigned to a department. Everyday id ask my supervisor if they assigned me yet and he kept telling me "I'm waiting to hear back from them". So my job can't say I was slacking off. During my boredom I made an account on this forum and jumped back into the cesspool. As much as I hate the game I want it to succeed. Unless another game developer steps up and makes a real competitor.

4: Once my 6 month purgatory ended and I was assigned to a project I stopped coming here. Then the COV happened. My job requires everyone to work from home. The problem is there is nothing for me to do from home. I'm like a mechanic. I can't work unless I am in the garage. The good news is there's only 2 people who can do my job and they need the instruments operational all the time. So they didn't lay me off because I had gained some value. My job is considered front line. They even offered to give me one of the first cov vaccines but I turned it down. I believe in vaccines but with how fast people were trying to make this one, I decided to let someone else work out the side effects. So with my spare time I got back into this forum to keep up to date. I haven't really played the game in a year because it's growing stale for me and the last few chapters have been #########.

5: Have about 1k playtime into the game. Bear in mind I run BBQ or WGLF all the time so the grind has been cut in half for me. I have all teachables minus the twins chapter, 5 killers at P3 and 2 survivors at P3. I might come back when the DS gets reeled in.

The irony for me is the devs are kinda two sided on exploits for instance wake up bug they didnt ban people because "we can't ban for people using a perk that might glitch" nurse gets light speed addon glitch "yeah lets ban for that"

    https://youtu.be/UDF1laqgsx4

The best was the double mending add on glitch for legion. They flat out posted a message when turning on the game "You will be banned if you use these add ons while we fix it"

  • By posting this video were going to see even more people using this spot until the devs patch it.

  • BBQ literally cuts the grind for BP in half and it's on a licensed killer. The devs want you to buy the dlc for it. If you don't then you have to play the game twice as much to lvl up. The longer you play the game the more likely you are to buy useless cosmetics.
