We'd like to know what you think about the Grim Pantry map, part of the Backwater Swamp realm. Please leave any feedback you have concerning this map as a comment on this thread. Your feedback can be as brief or detailed as you'd like!
The map i feel like is the most outdated and definitely needs to be worked on, either adding in something new like the breakable walls or revamping some of the loops like the big boat on Pale Rose for example, it just needs a bit of a glow up i'd say
-
Best thing you can do is use patience and focus with Victor as he is your key to applying pressure and finding survivors

Idc how anyone feels, Michael Myers should not be able to get infinite in the amount of time it takes to do one gen
Buddy Michael is the killer that needs the biggest buff in the game at the current moment with how outdated he is, if he manages to get infinite at tier 3 that is the survivors fault for not even trying at that point

Trickster, yeah you can get value from bamboozle
Now that you said it like that, yeah eruption works on huntress
There have been a lot of perk builds i have tried with these Killers from the near 3.5k hours i have put into dbd and although im not best with every killer on console, im bad with ,maybe 3 - 5 Killers
difficult killers like Nurse, Twins, Blight and Huntress (Im a Huntress and Blight main)
Are becoming a lot more easier to master

I'll start. I use Iron Will nearly every game but I only use rank 2 (75%) on my male characters because I like hearing their injured noises but don't want them to be TOO loud. (minus Steve, he's kind of annoying) I also like crawling into the corner and bleeding out when the Killer slugs me for the 4k since they only get 50 points for the bleedout! A little devious, but I enjoy it.
What weird things do you do/enjoy in DbD? Or am I the only one? ๐
I love shaking my head at TTV's just to piss them off if they are streaming or not -w-

Yeah
But the system in how it works is functionally stupid imo

Today I encountered my first hacker and he almost ruined my graphics card while teabagging me, he head oned me while not being in a locker, when i downed him he insta healed and other things. Basically they had power over the entire game + he had all the perks at the same time. When I wanted to report him the entire in-game report page was blocked with a wall of "n-words are f-words". I asked him why he does this thing. They replied with: "because devs don't ban hackers", and then he changed my first message with a wall of n-words.
I'm really scared because I did some research and I found a site where you can buy hacks for 20 dollars that have the exact pack that my hacker had. They can basically change every single aspect of the game: can turn your perks off, can get everyone's IP, can froze/brick someone's device with flashlights.
I don't hate devs. I don't know if they want the best out of this community but I spent 2k+ hours in this game and I love it. I don't want my PC bricked by someone that is trolling and doesn't have repercussions...
I have a literal vid on my channel when i encountered my first Hacker and it has only gotten worse from then on out
had a game when i played Nemesis and got 3 Hackers in 1 game

If they were needing to rework the gens it'd be best to make it more interactive then just hitting a mere skillcheck, maybe depending on the side you are working on will make you have to hit a certain button/key or maybe make the skillchecks a bit more difficult to hit
as well as giving them a Overcharge skillcheck everytime the killer kicks the gen since they can run by and simply tap the gen stopping your pressure with that

No problem, I'd also like to see what you disagree with so we can discuss out thoughts
I personally think
Trickster gets more help with Bamboozled
(Although yes you can counter by just throwing the knives, the recoil screws up your aiming a lot of the time which can make you miss a few knives or all if unlucky, using Bamboozled gives you a much easier time to hit more knives since they'd be in a small room that wouldnt be hard to laser and down them with the knives, and if lucky you could get a palette out of the way as well)
Huntress gets more help with Eruption
(Although Huntress is true a 110 killer, that makes it to where she cant be at multiple areas of the map at once, especially on bigger maps where you have to just sock a few gens to get you own real pressure, however, her hatchets also apply to Eruption value and kicking a gen after getting an easy hit or down can save you so welcomingly, and if you get a survivor caught in Eruption that is a survivor not doing anything for 16 whole seconds which is greatly helping)

I don't have this perk but was wondering if it would be worth pairing with undying or just a wasted perk slot. Thoughts?
nah Hex Plaything is best with retribution or just by itself because the more you hook the better, since ever survivor not affected with playthig will summon a new Hex totem till all 5 are gone

I'll put their best perk out of the 4 first and the worst will be the second perk. Keep in mind these are my opinions
Trapper: Corrupt Intervention and Brutal Strength (Trapper requires time for you to set up which Corrupt Intervention will grant you. His traps are an ok enough tool in chase so you don't need Brutal Strength.)
Wraith: BBQ And Chili and Make Your Choice (BBQ grants you information on who to pressure next which allows you to use a hit and run playstyle which is very effective as wraith against Survivors. The choice was hard but I'd say make your choice is the worst cuz you don't really need insta downs as wraith)
Hillbilly: Pop Goes The Weasel and Infectious Fright ( Pop will grant you pretty good slowdown and works very well on killers with high mobility like Billy. Since the addition of the overheat mechanic, slugging as Billy is quite ineffective)
Nurse: Tinkerer and Monitor And Abuse (Nurse is so good you don't even need perks to win but Tinkerer is valuable information. Monitor won't help you as nurse since you can just teleport to the Survivors before they notice where you're coming from anyway)
Doctor: Corrupt Intervention and Monitor And Abuse ( Doc is a normal m1 killer which isn't that good and corrupt will help your bad early game. Monitor will hurt you more as it will reduce your terror radius, which will reduce your big shock)
Hag: Corrupt Intervention and Save The Best For Last ( Like Trapper, hag requires set up. Save the best for last requires too much maintenance for such little value m, especially on hag which doesn't need it imo)
Huntress: BBQ And Chili and Eruption ( BBQ grants info and sometimes even big snipes. Eruption requires you to kick gens which is a time waste was a 110% Movement Speed killer imo)
Myers: Corrupt Intervention and Brutal Strength (corrupt intervention for that early game stalk. Brutal Strength isn't worth the perk slot on most killers imo)
Bubba: Tinkerer and Brutal Strength ( Tinkerer is good info and sometimes you might be able to down Survivors due to that undetectable status effect. Like I said before, Brutal Strength isn't worth the perk slot especially on Bubba who can saw pallets extremely quickly)
Freddy: Pop Goes The Weasel and Sloppy Butcher ( Freddy has a teleport which is amazing for Pop Goes The Weasel. Most Survivors at high levels don't bother healing anyway)
Pig: Corrupt Intervention and Save The Best For Last
Clown: Brutal Strength and Save The Best For Last (Clown is the only killer I'd say Brutal is good since Survivors will predrop pallets. Save The Best For Last requires too much time investment which clown doesn't have)
Spirit: Pop Goes The Weasel and Monitor And Abuse ( Spirit is fast so pop is good. Survivors outside your Terror radius will hear a woosh everytime you phase so monitor will only hurt you more)
Legion: Enduring and Spirit Fury ( you eat a lot of pallets as legion so enduring is good. Spirit fury is outmatched by one of Legions addons)
Plague: Infectious Fright and Dying Light ( Plague has amazing snowball potential so Infectious Fright is awesome on her. Dying Light forces you to hook Survivors a lot which doesn't work with plagues snowball that well)
Ghostface: Surge and Bamboozle ( Ghostface will mostly get downs by gens due to his stealth so surge is quite good. Bamboozle kinda sucks on everyone)
Drmogorgon: Corrupt Intervention and Save The Best For Last ( Corrupt Intervention will grant you time to set up portals. A good Demogorgon will hit more shreds than m1)
Oni: Corrupt Intervention and Tinkerer ( Corrupt will cover your bad early game similar to Myers. If you can snowball with oni you don't really care about gens)
Deathslinger: Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes The Weasel ( Corrupt is amazing on pretty much every killer. You're an 110% killer, which means you're slower than usual so you can't use pop to its maximum strength)
Executioner: Corrupt Intervention and Save The Best For Last ( corrupt because corrupt. Save The Best For Last is bad because it requires too much work and maintenance to make it work, and pyramid heads antiloop is very good anyway)
Blight: Tinkerer and Save The Best For Last ( Tinkerer is amazing on Blight, Save The Best For Last isn't)
Twins: Corrupt Intervention and Monitor And Abuse ( Corrupt is good. Whenever you switch from Charlotte to Victor or from Victor to Charlotte Survivors will hear a sound que making stealth very hard if they're not blind or deaf)
Trickster: Iron Maiden and Bamboozle ( faster reload, and trickster already counters windows by using his knives)
Cenobite: Corrupt Intervention and Save The Best For Last ( Corrupt because it's corrupt. You can't save your stacks as an m1 killer)
Already i see a lot of what you mean, maybe 1 or 2 i'd really disagree with but i definitely do see where you're coming from, thanks for taking time to answer this post

With Oni, I can do 90 flicks on console but 180 ones are impossible.
With blight 90 should be possible on console but I cant get them right still. I can do some stuff with blight that PC players can, but majority of his skillhits are possible only on PC.
Nurse is much harder on console so I would say spirit is the strongest? Not sure how she will perform after nerfs tho
As a few Spirit players have attempted (Like Scott Jund) It seems that she is more fair in the game but not much of a difference performance wise so it seems the nerf will be very insufficient

This is serious i think the boon pass from op to really strong perk. The people that say boon are now useless only think about themself in that but not in regard of the entire team. For just 14 sec on a dull totem you unlock old self care for the entire team so of you did not play during that time but self care was one of the most oppressive perk. Dont sleep on shadowstep you bring the killer to the totem area and you can win the chase easy if you can break the LoS.
Dont forget bhvr dont do many balance patch so after this change the perk probably wont get touch anytime soon.
It's morally the fact that they wont stack and have a smaller radius of what you can thoroughly work with since if you get chased out of that area you may not get back into it
-

Probably spirit. Im not sure if the flicks that i have seen high tier nurse and blight mains on pc pull off are even entirely possible on console.

At least once every two or three matches, someone will DC the second I hook them. Sometimes on their third hook, sometimes the first.
I don't camp, and I don't tunnel (although if I run into you, I'm taking the shot) - and I understand the psychology in situations like that, but I thought that there was a system to detect and punish repeated DCs?
Just...why?
most survivors DC because they cant handle going against someone who is far too superior to them, some dislike the map or killer they got, or bwcause of their teammates, but its hardly the last reasoning

I have done a lot of factors trying to get merciless even farming but whenever I do I get ruthless unless I hook for 11 hooks maybe it is just busted on console idk but I have gotten 3/4 iridescent emblems just to get ruthless
again, it takes more factors than just hooks and you will never get it by farming, you have to effectively play and attempt to max everything out by actually attempting to play the killer correctly, i have videos on my YT Of getting many Merciless victories using no perks or addons if you want a reference

You do realize that there are other factors that play right? those other factors plus the hooks is what makes up whether you get displeased or merciless, not just the hooks

I just had to make this thread because reading through the forums gives me a headache sometimes.
I probably should not even be browsing this place right now since I am taking a break from DBD, but holy #########, I didn't think the "Us vs Them" mentality could get worse but it has.
I would just like to remind everyone here that you are not fighting in a war, you're playing a VIDEO GAME. You're playing something for fun. You can literally drop this at any time you want.
Survivor main this, Killer main that... It's getting to the point where no one is actually discussing or talking about anything and just parrot the same ######### over and over again. What's the point of a forum?
Flavour of the week seems to be about Dead Hard and Deathslinger. And instead of any actual discussion about how these two aspects of the game can be changed for the better. It's just a shitshow of people fighting. It's so ######### tiring, I legitimately wonder if BHVR should even listen to threads and suggestions in this forum because it's such an unproductive waste of time.
Not to say I'm not guilty of this myself... But I have gotten weary about it. I have some suggestions for the game which I think could make the game so much better. But I do run the risk of running into people who think my suggestions are rooted in me being "biased" as a "Survivor main" or a "Killer main".
Just... Who gives a ######### about that? I just want this game to be fun for both sides, I want to feel like the Killer is a threat in my survivor games, I want to feel like I have to work for my kills as Killer. How is that not an opinion someone can supposedly have without being a main of something?
I play this game casually, I don't want to feel the need to "git gud". If I make suggestions, it's with fun for both sides in mind. But right now the game is so ######### dull and stale that I just want to see something different.
Urgh... Sorry about the rant, but holy ######### this forum can feel like it's two echo chambers fighting each other. It's enough to drive someone nuts.
absolutely agree because there are so many idiotic killer and survivors here that it's almost shocking hearing half of the ######### they say and suggest to change for their own wishes instead of the games balancing system

Iridescent Head is one of the most controversial add-ons in Dead by Daylight. BHVR nerfed the hatches to be limited to 1 max. I think this is actually a very bad change. I like to suggest the following changes:
- remove the limitation to 1 hatchet
- put survivor into dying state who got hit by a hatchet that where 24m or farther away
I think that will introduce a new way for skilled Huntresses to hit survivors and survivors have enough distance to dodge. It also removes the capability to camp with Iri Heads on many hooks; which is still possible with only one hatchet.
Venomous Concoction:
- increasing the timer to 10sec (was 5)
This was one of favorite add-ons before the nerf. I agree it was too strong, but 5sec is too weak for a green add-on.
I agree with the Iridescent head changes but not with the concoction changes

I am tired of trying for adept killer trophies when the survivors just up and d/c if they DC it should count for all hook states towards merciless killer
Having to get 11 hooks (with them getting off each hook) just to get it is maddening
Especially when someone ups and DCs early in the match
to alone get the iridescent emblem for hooks it is at minimal of 9 hooks, i know exactly how you feel because i attempted and thankfully have completed every adept in the game but you really have to take the time and patience, challenges and trophies are challenges for a reason

79.... thousand hooks? Since... three months ago??
Ok, lets break this down. 79,000 hooks divided by 90 days... that equals approximately 878 hooks every single day.
Ok, now let's pretend you are a god amongst men and that you are the greatest DBD player to ever grace the earth, making you 4k in every single match you have as Blight. That would take you 73 matches every day, and as each match lasts around 10 minutes, that totals 12 hours of playing DBD non-stop per day. Not considering queue times. Jesus christ.
If you're lying, please be more believable next time. If you're not, I'm confused on whether I should be terrified or in awe.
You are the Hero we needed but not the Hero we deserved
thank you so much for doing that lol
-
he has very little gen pressure ability from his base power and even with his chains they arent too hard to dodge or to out menuever anyways, his power already hard to find without seeing or hearing a survivor thus needing to do a chase to even have some sort of chance
-
I do have to say that i heavily agree with playing both sides since it gives players a sort of insight in the game and a better understanding why some Survivors and Killers that do the things they do and their reasonings, like why a Killer will Proxy a hook or why a survivor will teabag/flashlight flicker at the killer, there are a lot more factors that play into why the killers and survivors do the things they do that most players often forget to factor in when they play, which sparks the toxicity and entitlement in DbD
-
Hey, i'm a console player ^^ i'd have to say that for me personally one of the most funnest killers to play us Huntress, whether i win or lose i cant go wrong with a good few hatchet hits that just make you get every type of emotion at once

Because I do, I like running addons like bloody sash + blackened toenail or cracked sakazuki + ink lion on Oni.
The bloody sash and blackened toenail make you move at 108% movement speed when using both of them while collecting blood orbs. This makes you not lose any distance on the survivor you are chasing while you collect their blood. I myself just like the extra speed since it is nice to have. Obviously it is a very weak effect, but just nice to have and I know Oni is a good killer already without good addons or any, so I run these often.
The cracked sakazuki and ink lion together make your transition to blood fury 2 seconds instead of the usual three. The ink lion also has the weaker effect of having a smaller penalty for downing survivors while in blood fury. It is just fun for me, to be able to switch from m1 mode to blood fury quicker.
Same goes for other strong killers (P head with black tape + lead ring, huntress with oak haft + bandaged haft).
So is this something only I do, or does anyone else do the same?
I run no Addons on Huntress, doe that count?
-
I stream almost always Killer gameplay on Twitch and i almost never play Nurse , i play a whole lot of other killers like Pig, Clown, Huntress, ect. and i am able to 4k or 3k just fine, i believe you havent seen every bit of thing that has to do with why more people are playing survivor, playing Killer is imo so much more fun than Survivor

I just got tunneled all game against a pig.
She threw the entire match to tunnel me. When all gens got done I lost her 2 times and searched two boxes but with no luck.
Then she found me at the third box and just slugged me. My team got me up, I tried to search the box (only had like 20 seconds left before the timer ends anyway) but she kept coming back and slug me. I unbreakabled and ran out the exit because the team wasn't leaving so I can look for hatch at least. And then I died.
This is such an unfair mechanic.
Traps are meant to STALL the game when gens are still there. The traps should deactivate when you try to go through an exit because right now they are a very exploitable mechanic with no counterplay.
I heavily disagree with you but there is a factor where your wish is already granted, The Pigs trap will not explode if it was put on your head after the last gen was popped giving you a completely free escape, however they are also very rare to do, your est option would've been to find hatch but if you couldn't then thats still a win considering how many people escaped on your end

As the title asks. Should the hatch even spawn if someone disconnections intentionally to allow their friend to have the hatch? I had this round where I played as Oni. The game was in my favor I was in mid chase. And during that chase the Zerina disconnected on me, and her Blendette teammate got the hatch. They blamed me for camping the hook, but the Zerina was literally abusing a log loop on Backwater near the hooked survivor. So Technically I wasn'tt camping, it was just a bad move on their part to abuse a loop near the hooked survivor. Then they went ahead and said some nasty stuff on end game chat, typical stuff like slurs and slang calling me names. So this question comes to mind.
I know some of you will say it's unfair to make the hatch not available, but it needs to only prock under THIS exact circumstance. If someone's rage quits when only 2 people are left to intentionally let the other have the hatch or something like that. Idk. I'm just really mad that I got outplayed on something I couldn't even prevent.
I'd much rather have old Hatch back where it will only spawn after at least 2 gens are done ffor the last survivor alive, that was so goodbut ever since they removed it, things just got more so annoying
