I assume tunneling also doesn´t exist. Since the killers only objective is to kill.

You have a strong point lol

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

Well this is completely correct. If the killer fails to apply pressure, then there is literally no reason for survivors not to do objectives. If they can apply enough pressure (AKA slugging nurse), then objectives completely grind to a standstill while the team tries to recover. It's a much more dynamic and nuanced situation than people give credit to.

    Thanks for thinking so

Blight lower than Billy and Pyramid? Freddy too?

But especially Billy. That's an odd pick IMO.

imo Billy isn't as strong as he use to be, Blight is very strong but extremely difficult to play but he is very fun when you get the gist of thing, 4k'd with him on Lery's during stream

  • In order to effectively tell how good or bad a Killer is you must spend a good few hours playing as and against them, again i believe you do not see the actual case of a Tier list

  • @Zaytex said:

Gen rushing is when survivors prioritise generators over saving their teammates. There's been times in solo queue, where even with Kindred, there will be 2 survivors working on a generator each and letting me hit stage two before coming to rescue me so they can get the generators done ASAP.

That's gen rushing. The killer failing, through his own fault, or the unfair mechanics of the game (OP perks, OP maps for survivors, etc) doesn't constitute as gen rushing, the survivors are just doing their objective and aren't pressured from it at all.

    Yes exactly as stated above

  • @TheDarkTyrant said:

i believe you missed the entire point of the tier list

  • @UnentitledBunnyMan said:

I'm not mad @ survivor doing their objects, but the entitlement makes me sick when survivors calls u a camper/tunneller while they camp and tunnel gens the whole game. I just kicked the gen and a survivor taped it, isn't that tunneling my gens just like I tunnel a unhooked survivor? How come tunnelling the survivor makes me a bad guy while they do the same all the time? Just because they have 4 and can ######### more?

Doing the same object ignoring other objects, aka tunneling, is only bad when killers do it, while for survivors it becomes a legit strategy. That's insane. Besides killers are already being punished with BT DH DS combo, why surviviors still ######### about it while killers accually pays more than downing 2 other survivors for hooking the saved again? Does killers have perks that makes gens impossible to touch for 60 seconds / stun the survivor for 5 seconds after he kick this gen? Or makes the gen have another 40 seconds for repair after a kick? Why some survivors r so entitled?

While i completely understand where you are coming from and have been in mutliple scenarios that you said, there are entitled survivors just like there are entitled Killers, this game is no where near balanced in gameplay for either side, therefore having to do all that we can for our objective is alright, if someone complains oh well, but do remember those perks can still be easily countered, DH DS and BT, DS is also getting a nerf, Dead Hard is very simple to counter, waiting a few seconds, patience is always key, and BT is more counterable since if they are trying to get the unhook close to you it usually will be better to just wait for a grab or to smack and chase the unhooker therefore not needing to worry about BT

You're really underestimating Doctor. And overestimating Pig a bit. Doc is a really solid killer. He's got good tracking, some slowdown, and anti-loop that's pretty powerful. His anti-loop is better than Clown's, since he can deny pallets. You have to REALLY throw early against Doc. You do against Clown too, but not to the same extent.

though as alos said above i play on PS4 and things will vary

Most definitely i am underestimating then, but i also have less play time in both of those Killers so that also plays a good factor into their positioning

I disagree. Playing him on the PTB was miserable. In my opinion he is, without a doubt, the weakest killer in the game.

The idea is not stupid. It does exist. It's fairly common for teams to be efficient on gens, at least in my very limited experiences.

That being said, it is NOT their fault.

I 100% agree with what you are saying, i do not accuse Survivors nor Killers of it being there fault over something the devs have faultly done, but i say that it shouldn't be the survivors nor the killers fault over the result of something that happened mainly because of this game and how its put out as

  • @Baby_Victor said:

You mentioned killer perks to help slow down gen pressure and suggest hit and run tactics. Not bad to mention those, but I just wanted to point out that survivors have multiple perks to help slam gens...also survivors regularly complain about hit and run because they want to be chased and your taking an aspect of the game away, when you don’t chase.

Same reason survivors dislike killers who shorten the chase, it’s when they feel most powerful and have the most fun. Few enjoy the generator simulator.

My point is, everything wrong with this game just follows a pattern back to a root.

    SWF Survivors<Killer<Solo Survivor<Specifically Weak Killers<Meg

As long as the game isn’t balanced around the idea that every Survivor can communicate with every other survivor and thus, buff killers, to then balance out perks, and lastly remove Meg...

We will always have more speedy gen pops and less fun chase time.

i love the fact you say " Remove Meg "

How much fun do you have watching gens pop left and right because you literally cannot end chases quick enough tha KS to the cheesiest of stratagies? Because that's pretty much the survivor version.

If i cannot end chases quickly that tells me i have more practice to learn that Killer, and with how this game has been i have not really needed to care as i mostly play Huntress lmao

You're the one victim-blaming. Killers shouldn't be condemned for killing, survivors shouldn't be ostracised for trying to escape. If you as a Killer chose to tunnel/camp/slug then own up to your actions. The same way if you let your teammate die so you can finish a gen/hookbomb to save your own skin and escape. You did it because you wanted to win, not bc the other side was progressing the game too fast.

If that's the way you want to play, that's fine. Those strategies exist in the game for a reason. But don't get mad and try to rationalize your conscious decision as a necessary evil. IMO, that is only a vicious cycle.

also please elaborate on Victim Blaming

Prepare for rage comments lol. This does make a lot of sense^^ I think another thing that drives camping is survivors being a significantly higher level than the killer (e.g. rank 16 v rank 2/4) and as such just being better/more experienced at the game. So the lower-level killer tries to salvage something (and while I'm new we all know how bad matchmaking is XD).

Yes which was where i put the reasoning of them trying to get the weakest/strongest player out

I make about 25k bp a match and 200 shards which leaves me a bit confused. I'm level 31 on doctor and 32 on hag so I've definitely played enough according to people? Is my account syncing wrong or something?

Also do know that from level 1 - 49 you wont be getting the most shards, from level 50 - 100 you will be getting 300 shards every level and 300 x 50 equals 15,000 shards just from the second half alone

you must have used shards to have that low amount with the levels you have

i have around 2.7k hours into dbd

  • @sleepywynd said:

I'm decently new to dbd and only have probably 40/50 hours in the game. I'm not really looking to put money into the game (although executioner is so tempting). Anyways, I'm just wondering how long it takes to earn enough iridescent shards to buy a character like Oni or Wraith? Thanks!

It depends really how often you play. if you play consistently then it should take a few hours to get 9k shards

  • @AsherFrost said:

Trying to explain this game to some colleagues brought something into sharp focus for me.

    Tunneling isn't bad.

Some of you won't see that as new information, others are already rushing to tell me how wrong I am. Here's my case

Camping is punished by the game. Camp hooks all match? You'll likely end up with a silver or even bronze chase medal, no matter what else you do.

Does anyone know the penalty for tunneling? Trick question, there isn't one. In fact, I would argue 99% of the time tunneling the first Survivor out will result in a higher score, better chance of winning, and yes, more bp.

Why? Because BHVR isn't out to punish tunneling.

"But Asher," you say, "what about DS? The anti-tunnel perk?"

Exactly. BHVR is so certain tunneling as a mechanic will happen that they gave survivors a trick to deal with it

"But doesn't that mean tunneling is bad?"

Depends, is doing gens bad? Everything from Dragon's Grip to NOED exists to stop or counter gen rushing, yet I wouldn't think to argue against fixing the generators quickly, they are after all the Survivor's objective, and the Survivor team is free to approach that objective in whatever manner they feel most efficient.

Killers have 4 objectives, should they not also get the freedom to approach that objective in the most efficient manner?

"But it's no fun being tunneled"

Sure, just like it's no fun being focus fired on as support in Overwatch or TF2. Just like I'm certain it's no fun to be sacked on your own 20yd line as the QB. So? You've got 3 teammates, 2 perks, countless pallets and windows, use them.

(This line removed as it seems I overestimated the average visitor to these forums ability to understand metaphor) no matter how nicely I ask when maining Mercy, if the opposing team sees me, they'll kill me asap. The difference between those situations and DbD is only in the amount of whining afterwards.

You want to stop tunneling? Play as a team. Just stop acting like it's somehow morally wrong for a killer to kill efficiently.

Thank god not every player is an idiot over these things

  • @SammiieK1991 said:

So I've played 4 matches, and so far I've had 4 killers camp my hook! How and why should that be allowed? Fully its a 4v1 game, however whenever I'm a killer I never stop others preventing saves, find it takes the fun out of the match and is a little unfair??? Am I genuinely the only players that finds this a little moody? 😂

If the Killer is camping you on the hook he is completely throwing the game, just because you died from a camping Killer doesn't mean it isn't allowed, don't be an easy target to be downed in 5 seconds, and if the killer is camping do the gens and leave, it's that simple, also comparing how you play to another killer is idiotic considering not every killer will lay like you and compring others to your gameplay is just childish

  • Survivor Perks

Dead Hard, Iron Will, We're gonna live Forever, and Spine Chill

    KIller Perks

BBQ and Chili, Corrupt Intervention, Pop Goes the Weasel, Infectious Frieght,

  • @Nos37 said:

While active, Decisive Strike should allow the survivor to fully recover from the dying state. This would alleviate the number of perks slots required to help counter tunneling.

    ----

The killer needs to equip zero perks to camp or tunnel. The survivors have to equip three perks to counter both (Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, and Unbreakable). Not only does this take up 3/4 of a survivor's perk slots, but because each survivor can be camped and tunneled all 4 survivors would have to use up three perk slots. That, and DS + Unbreakable doesn't fully counter tunneling; it just makes it harder for the killer to do it quickly.

Let DS allow survivors to recover from dying. If DS has deactivated for the rest of the match after stunning or failing, then the survivor cannot fully recover from dying with DS. Meanwhile, this makes Unbreakable less powerful, so buff Unbreakable and let it be used more than once (on a cooldown). No Mither can stay as is because it has no cooldown, prevents blood pools, and reduces injury noise.

How entitled do you have to be? Holy Christ, saying something like this is completely childish as both Slugging and Camping are very easily counterable, getting camped? do the gens and escape, see someone being camped? do the gens and get out, See the killer slugging? be less altruistic, that's the only way they are able to slug, when you give them that oppurtunity, DS deserves its Nerf because of how it's being used, now how it was meant to be used as an Anti-Tunnel perk, but it isnt being used that way at all so quit your whiney attitude and try thinking about multiple sides instead of only the Survivor side -_-

  • @Yords said:

So dead hard has no counter when used for distance (as you should be using for the full value of the perk), but can this be considered unfair?

I have said before that dead hard is different than the other exhaustion perks because it is so easy to use and unrestrictive, all you need is to be injured. With sprint burst you should be exhausted most of the game because it's not used just for running away from the killer, but rather to objectives and teammates faster for good value out of it. If you are saving it just for the killer and walking everywhere, you are doing your team a disservice.

Lithe of course is nice to have but only works when vaulting.

Smash hit will be good, especially on unsafe pallets.

Adrenaline rewards survivors for completing their objective.

And head-on is just a meme perk.

But dead hard just needs you to be injured and by the press of a button you can extend or even end a chase by using it. The other exhaustion perks (minus head-on) can also do the same thing, but they at least require some sort of skill to use to get full value out of it. You can 99% sprint burst and use it to get to objectives (too many people don't know how to use SB correctly), you can save lithe for when you need it, and you have to predict the killer for smash hit. With the other exhaustion perks, you have to change your playstyle just a little bit to use the perks properly.

Dead hard is just E and bam, chase extended, no skill needed, and a second chance if you mess up. This is especially harmful on killers such as Trapper when survivors can literally go through his traps on top of extending a chase. Even better killers like huntress or billy struggle because you can't always go for a swing at something like a mindgame like a pallet (I would explain some examples in details, but it would make the thread too long) because you don't have LOS on the survivor, or you barely don't make it in time. Sometimes you react too quickly and swing, but miss because the survivor pressed a button on their keyboard or controller. I feel like I am being outperked rather than outplayed especially when more than one survivor is running the darn thing.

So, can the perk be considered unfair, or am I still just wrong and it is?

and if I see a single comment saying "it doesn't work half the time..."

Knowing how Dead Hard works and being a heavy David Main, Dead Hard doesnt work a lot of the time and Can be easily countered by just waiting a few more seconds so No Dead Hard is no where near Unfair

You had better learn that it is a fair mechanic. If you wanna be toxic and blind a killer without knowing the small possible consequences for doing so it is completely your fault so yes the mechanic is fair stop complaining like a little entitled survivor and accept the consequences for being toxic

  • You are also only pulling them out of their power. If they have ears they'll find you wether you blind them or not. It all depends on the killers experience of the game for how rewarding it is. Though you shouldnt exactly abuse the mechanic as it can get you killed the higher in ranks you go

  • Monitor and Abuse, Monitor on a Insta down killer really freaks out survivors. I personally have gotten grabs as bubba using that perk
