  • If BBQ was base kit than survivors would preach for make distortion base kit.

NoED is fair and balanced. Survivors just want to speedrun gens without punishment.

Seriously. How many perks do the devs need to give survivor for them to cleanse the bones? I'm secretly thinking BHVR is trying to tell survivors something.

  • This is the part where a BHVR employee disguished as a gamer chimes in and says "Yes, return. We have plenty of cosmetics you need to buy"

  • @Lovemeplease said:

Survivor gets dibs basically on pallet. Even if you hit them before they drop pallet it doesn’t count. Basically it just allows for pallet camping with no repurcussions

Reminds me of the days of pallet vacuum -.-

  • Wasn't the case over like a year ago and they went back in? I remember hearing the case was over once before.

I don't mind that map in general, but I just wish I could get a clean shot. There's so many obstacles and LOS blockers that makes it hard playing him in there.

And knowing this forum. Yeah probably.

People say it's a great map for Nurse. I disagree. Like you said, lot of LoS blockers. The only advantage Nurse has is she can go up or down at will.

  • @DelsKibara said:

Just played a game on Gideon as Deathslinger.

######### hell, the amount of corners in that map makes it really really hard to have fun as him.

Does this mean we will start seeing more map offerings for The Game?

  • @Northener1907 said:

Devs break the game, once again. And maps are full with so much pallets. I don't think this is good time for play killer.

This actually happens quite often. There's a reason Kote said "Play something else".

  • Routing. I can loop decent enough provided there is a pallet or window nearby. Once I use that however I tend to run to an area that is a dead zone.

As killer I sometimes lose track of a survivor after I hit them. It's only for a split second. I smack them, they 180 and I have to see which direction they went. That split second with the speed boost gives them enough of a distance to reach another pallet.

Like I already said to someone else, if they are getting in your face, ignore them. They aren't doing gens, so if you go pressure someone else, you are technically pressuring and occupying multiple survivors. That unhooked survivor can either stay around you and bother you, which is just being useless to the team, or they can go do gens and their ds is disabled

We shouldn't have to memorize who was hooked last. It took us 4 years to get DS into a balanced state. Just leave it the way it is.

How would that be similar to old Decisive? If they progress the game, it is disabled, if they stay to where it stays active, that means they aren't progressing the game and they are being useless. You will only get punished in end game now for wanting to tunnel and slug for an extra kill

Last time I checked being healed by your teammate doesn't remove DS. I can picture people getting saved from the hook, someone heals them, then they deliberately get in the killer's face. Trying to get the killer to chase them because they have DS.

  • Why can't we have like a "Role in need" feature like overwatch or ff14? Play this job that is short in supply and get bonus BP.

  • I only find survivor stressful if my teammates are potatoes.

I can't abide hypocrisy, and that what these threads are; Survivors claiming tunneling and camping are evil things that should result in -32534378756 BP for the Killer (I have seen people suggest 'The Survivor gets the Killer's BP if he camps' before) but gen speeds and toolboxes and gen-stacking are fine.

That hypocrisy is NOT coming from the survivor side, you absolute walnut. It's literally the first thing these forums will shout at you when you suggest camping is a problem.

'If you get camped, just genrush'

    'Ok'

'OMG survivors are genrushing, that's such hypocrisy!'

Seriously, camping is the root problem for everything you whine about, but when -anyone- brings it up, you throw yourself into an absolute frenzy because you don't want to accept the fact that camping is unbelievably bad for the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2395426#Comment_2395426

That's EGC camping, and that's not a problem. The problem is a killer camping on first down, which leaves you with enough time to do either the gens or the totems, but likely not both. So if you take down all five totems, the killer gets to down someone else before gen 5 is done. If you finish all five gens, the killer then gets to have +4% movespeed and instadown and likely gets at least one other down, possibly more because they can just slug.

and the killer gets next to no bp, probably not even a safety. You can't put in a system that can distinguish between camping to be a dick and camping because it's beneficial to your objective. They tried and survivors abused it. So it was removed. If you hate camping so much either

    • play with friends who are smart enough not to rush the hook.
    • Continue to punish killers for face camping by already mentioned. Eventually that killer will get the message "This isn't working. better try something else"
    • Last, the most effective way to make it so you never ever get camped. Play killer.

    'Plenty of counters!'

Literally only counter is genrushing. And it's hilarious you mention NOED in the same post since that has the opposite, mutually exclusive counter, so if someone is camping with NOED, the whole thing just sort of eats itself.

If someone is camping with noed then the gens would have to be complete for that to happen. Open the gate and leave. Problem solved.

  • I remember when there was no exhaustion mechanic. You could stack perks like BL, SB ect and get to use them all.

  • Camping is a made up word survivors invented to have something to scream about when they lose. It is not a problem. The devs have stated it's a strategy and not reportable. Last it has plenty of counters. The issue is survivors don't want to counter it. Same as NOED. There is something you can do about it but people don't want too.

  • Randoms have a habit of DCing when I bring a cake. So my cakes are being saved for when I play with friends.

Lmao you seem like me, as more time goes on I've gotten very cynical when I used to be alot more positive/give the benefit of a doubt.

You play trapper right? How do you keep playing? Lately it's been a slog for me, making me feel unfulfilled when I play...idk if it's burn out or I'm just getting tired of the same nonsense.

I take Kote's advice and play something else. I hardly pop on DBD anymore except for when friends want to swf or I feel the itch. People think I am negative but BHVR made me this way. Had the game for 4 years. They like to pretend it never happened but I've been around long enough to remember some of the major mistakes they've made over the years.

Who would Jason be identical to and it's not trapper Jason only kind off used traps in one movie the 2009 movie all the rest he didn't use traps so which other killer would Jason power be identical to?

The last 3 killers lately have been more like "variants" than new killers.

Nemesis- PHs range attack but with zombies.

Trickster-Huntress that throws more and hurts less

    Twins-Two M1 killers meshed together

I'm back again with another accusation of cheating. Now read this, I got accused of cheating by removing my terror radius while playing The Plague with Dark Devotion, her own damn perk. I guess some people too lazy to read what are they getting into. Also accused of wallhack with Doctor, Sir/Ma'am, you crouching in front of my illusion...

One game as trapper I had 2 survivors and 2 gens left. The short story is I used Whispers to locate someone in the basement of the shack after searching every where. In the end game chat he didn't lose his mind but he did ask how I knew he was there. I explained

"Whispers was going off. I looked all around the shack and didn't find you. I checked inside the shack and opened lockers. Whispers was still going off so if you were outside you would have left long ago because there's no gens here. I check downstairs and Whispers is still going off. After checking the 4th locker there you were."

That person at least listened to my explanation before jumping the gun and screaming HACKS!.

If the legal issues were indeed settled they'd definitely save Jason for the Anniversary. Also, if they got the rights immediately, like the second they were available, it'd still be somewhere around 6-9 months before the chapter releases (at least I believe that's what they've stated is their development timeline for new chapters)

Although I'd love to see him make his way to the game and he's one of my dream chapters I'm not holding my breath.

If Jason is going to be another M1 killer with a power that's almost identical to an existing killer. Someone that a swf can easily bully. Then id rather not have him in here.

  • The last time I spent actual money was the RE chapter. Even then it was only because some friends wanted to swf and I wanted something new to pour my bloodpoints into. Everyone else is lvl 40. The 2-3 chapters before that I either used shards or the killers were so awful I didn't unlock them because they sucked.

  • Are you new to dbd? Were you expecting BHVR to do their jobs? They're never going to fix console because it was always an after thought for more $$$

  • When I play with randoms and bring cakes you know what happens? The survivors dc because <insert bullshit reason>. That's why I save them for when I play with friends.

  • Brace yourself. If 3 survivors are killed before 5 gens are completed and the killer found the hatch before you did. You got out played. You are not meant to escape at that point! You lost. Admit defeat and move on to the next match.

  • I tried to get into FT13th but the thing that put me off was 2 fold.

1: The sheer amount of DCers when they found out they weren't playing as Jason.

2: If you got killed early you were forced to stick around and watch other people play the game. If you left before the match ended you lost any exp.

  • Just finished the tutorial for the bp. It scares me if the balance team thinks that's how a typical match goes.

  • It's typical WoW attitude.

Devs: Hey we fixed this. You should be grateful

Players: You fixed something no one even complained about. Why didn't you fix the real problem?

  • People please dont get your hopes up. Cause when BHVR fails to reach them, you blow up the forums with whining.

  • My swf has our version of Jack except he isn't drunk -.- We have a rule where the first 20 secs of the match he has to hide in a locker so he isn't found first.

    God, if only.

Having 2 stories to an indoor map is god awful.

I really hate that on The Game. When you hear their heartbeat but you have no idea if they are above you or not. As killer I find maps with 2 floors tend to be smaller. Stuff like Devour Hope and MYC have a harder time proc'ing.

  • Maybe they should give it the bedham treatment. Have like 3-4 variants. Each one has a section walled off for the sake of map traversal.

  • I want too. I really do but the devs make it really hard. The last 3 chapters have been let downs and a buggy mess. As paying customers, we deserve better.

But the movie was delayed due to covid. I'm sure it was ready to go but then they had to use the next killer instead. I think it was twins we got instead right? Would explain why they didn't seem like a finished product.

I forget when the cov hit but when they were teasing PH there were a lot of hints that suggested it was candyman. Turns out one tweet was a miss spelling people took as a clue and the original clue the devs teased people misinterpreted it.

Id like a killer that bangs on the door of nurse and Spirit. Imagine the amount of complaining threads that would create 🥳

People complained about Twins and trickster being OP. Survivors will complain no matter what.

I hope not. We deserves strong killer this time. Blight was last strong killer we had.

They never make a killer strong deliberately. They have this idea that killers should only get 2k per match. Regardless of how well they play. That mindset is ruining the game. Its why swf is so powerful and why you see the same 3 killers at top tier.

  • @Power_Guy said:

I will also add; Why does every suggestion jump on the 'Take away Killer's BP' mindset with camping?

That's like saying, in PubG 'Snipers kill me before I can play. So unfair. Snipers should lose health each time they fire their gun!'. Just because you dislike a tactic does not mean it needs some over the top punishment.

I never understood the hate for snipers. In cod i hate people who run around with a fully auto rifle with an insane snap to aim and twitch shoot everything in sight. I dont like it but i dont expect people to be punished for playing that way. Its a weapon and attachments that are given to you in the game. You cant be mad at someone for playing in a way the creators provided.

This movie comes out three weeks before the chapter, aka exactly when the ptb drops. After all of Tony Todd's clues/misteps I have no doubt it will be candyman

The clues they dropped last year. I thought for sure we were getting candyman. Then it was ph. Not disappointed but we were completely wrong.

  • There was a punishment for face campers. You know why the devs got rid of it? Survivors abused it. You have your side to thank for that. Play with friends or run kindred. Not a perfect solution but if your teammates suck, theres nothing the devs can do to fix that.

  • Because the devs dont play thier own game pass rank 15. They've done some questionable things in the past but i gave them the benefit of the doubt. After patch 1.9.2, where they thought that was a qol change, now i know they dont know what they're doing.

  • Its one of 2 possibilities.

1: a crappy original character whose power is a variation of an existing killer and their perks suck

2: a crappy character whose power is a variation of an existing killer, their perks suck but they draw a crowd because they're licensed.

  • I stopped reading when i saw how horrible that wall of text is constructed. Have you heard of a period? It just looks like a long rant of gibberish.

  • @Anniehere said:

I believe tomorrow, we're going to have an update.

Maybe some major bugs are going to get fixed and on the way DC penalty will return.

With this developer ive learned to not get your hopes up. They have a habit of not meeting expectations.

  • The best way to learn how to counter a killer is to play as them. People love to say Nurse breaks the game, she has no counter play. I say "That's bull#@$% because good survivors manage to juke me when I play as Nurse."

  • Dead Hard, in the right hands, I feel is too strong.

SB I feel is fine. I use it mostly for stealth. I try to sneak away and if I am seen I can still get away before that first hit. Though I'm sure to the killer it looks like I am baiting a swing to be a dick.

Lithe I used to like but I find I can loop a vault 2-3 times before I need to get to another location and lithe just forces me to leave the area sooner.

BL feels too situational. On haddonfield it's amazing. On Lerys or sheltered woods, it's horrible.

Head On only feels somewhat viable with Q&Q but even then. You need something to distract the killer long enough for you to get that 3 secs so you can stun them. I try to drop a pallet and jump in a locker while they are breaking it. Once they learn you have Head On they're probably not going to fall for it again.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

You need to have a really banging start to compete with DBD

Not to mention asymmetrical games are a nightmare to balance and require constant patches throughout the games life. Frequent patches too. One of the many reasons Evolve failed is there was a condition in their contract that only allowed them to patch the game once every 6 or 8 months. If there was a game breaking bug discovered you had to wait over half a year for them to fix it. "If" they even bothered to fix it. There have been several attempts at similar games but they didn't take off like dbd did. Also keep in mind no one expected dbd to be a massive success. Now that they got several license characters, it's probably even harder than before for an indie company to try to compete.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

DS was OP, and needed nerfed, but unfortunately the nerf made the game much less healthy. Tunnelling and camping has skyrocketed.

I don't think the DS change affected the amount of campers or tunnelers. It only feels like more killers are tunneling because survivors have 1 less second chance perk.

  • Depends on what type of players you get.

If your randoms sucks, survivor is harder.

If your team is good, killer is almost unplayable.

Yeah looking back I may have been exaggerating when I say only game where people are like this. But I will say that the people here are probably the most bold about admitting they do it. Especially since it’s confirmed to be against the rules. And while you’re right that a DC penalty doesn’t fix the issue it could at the very least discourage people from automatically leaving at every minor inconvenience

I dont know. I havent seen any other game where the community whines so much. Even when I play other games and people start complaining. As a joke I say "Almost as bad as the DBD community" and there's always a few people that stop arguing and say "DBD is pretty bad". When other games admit your community is bad, it's bad.
