I think PvP games can often bring out the worst in people, that's why we enabled a chat filter, in an attempt to prevent these things from happening so much. (you can also use the arrows to close chat completely, which I know a lot of players have done).
Unfortunately we have no control about things that happen outside of the game, so messages sent on console chat or even on Steam profiles etc. Those are down to the platform that they're on to manage - and I'm pretty sure that they do take things like this seriously (with regards to death threats here). And that's the same on Twitch, it's down to them to police their platform.
And the word "toxic" gets thrown around so much right now, to me personally I don't think things that happen in game that are within the game rules, are toxic - what becomes toxic to me, is people abusing others in aftergame chat or as mentioned above, other places other than the game.
I think PvP games can often bring out the worst in people,
I dont think its because of PvP games though, the worst being a completely emotional or reptile response to actions and outcome of the game, its that we for the most part is as the playerbase is not very good at pushing an emotional response into a intellectual calm response. I dont see many young people being good at that and I dont see the game encouraging better behavior/ response either. I wish it did.
I am not a psychologist myself, but I am taking steps into improving myself and through therapy I have learned models for thinking about controlling my emotional response. I can look up the names of the models and Psychologists who invented them, if you want to know.
I think BHVR could do well in hiring council of some who can develop a function of the chat service to diffuse emotional Reponses into intellectual ones. An example I can come up with off my head would be asking "If you were the other side, what would you like to hear?"
I would prefer to live in a world where games encouraged good chat behavior instead of only punish terrible behavior, Think about it.

How do you know that what we saw in the PTB is the final product?
-
- It would certainly inform me of a good opportunity to tunnel since I dont count hookings, nor try to remember who was hooked.
- If I was informed of that, I would probably want to take it.
Dont you think those here who feign ignorance that this could not encourage tunneling in any way are a little economical with the truth?
Like come on, really?!? You dont see why informing a player of the Opportunity would encourage them to take it?
Information clearly leads to action, I doubt BHVR is gonna buy this argument from you guys.
A better argument would be to argue it gives the Killer better opportunity to play like a Killer is supposed to, that being tunneling / camping / Slugging is a part of the game and Survivors need to be able to react and counterplay all these strategies. And why that is okay for the game.
-
If you get tunneled right when you are off the hook, This perk is perfect.
-
It would encourage tunneling, just like it did on the UI PTB.

I feel like bhvr is becoming lazy with maps idk
They are remaking all the old maps, from the grown up, Improving the gameplay of each of them, remaking the visuals.
If that is whats lazy around here, I dare not know what busy feels like.
-
Not really, He was so bad at Rank 1. A Terrible Experience.
But I hope BHVR maybe can make you people happy with a throwback Ultra Rare addon instead, that is a much easier request to grant.
-
I like the map because 4/5 Players refuse to learn the map and therefore will perform horribly on there. hehe ah okay you got me. 😝
I like the short passageways, its interesting to have variety, its funny how its basically Azarov's Resting Place but on two floors.
I dont like the Entity Goop tho.
-
@JimbusCrimbus in 5 seconds.
-
When Swamp was in development, I have been told they had planned areas where you sink in and walk Slower. But there was no way of making it fun or entertaining. But I think it would be a great addition, maybe we should encourage BHVR to revisit those old ideas?
-
Well, its still annoying, but I grew to accept it.

It takes 4 minutes, that's a long time of doing literally nothing in a videogame, you know, the things that are meant to be interactive and fun?
You are Right, lets reduce it to 1minute.

I don't like how breaking free from his chains is the same button as vaulting pallets on controller and I'm not gonna rebind just for him.
You can also use the Drop Item button for only breaking chains.

Mad Scientist Claudette pls
-
Its called bleeding out, only takes a a few minutes.
-
I wish VHS the best of luck.
-
While Survivors switching is annoying, it isnt going to change my ways of dealing with that alot.
Also remember Games can end fast if someone plays poor.
-
Such a System is expensive to make. But I suggest data files should be available at the at the endgame screen like in Warcraft 3 where you can download them to save them. BHVR should not store them long term, that would be needlessly expensive.
-
I never liked Charms, I never use them, I still want Country flags BHVR, but... its a little too late to abandon this.
But there is no game I love every aspect of.
-
They play the entire match without a perk for a chance to make a Powerful Move in the Endgame, and only If Survivors try to go fast.
They have the entire game until after Gens are Done to learn their Killer.
With Boons coming next patch Noed is going to get soft-nerfed anyway.
-
I love Haddonfield.
-
As an Avid Wraith Killer Player I must say, Please dont remove Lightburn. Its one of the fun weaknesses of Wraith and its fun to see Survivor come up with ways to use it against me. Wraith is not a weak Killer anymore and its time Survivors learnt his weaknesses.
1 Flashbang = No more Bell.
The Dwight is a rando Survivor Streamer I ran into. https://www.twitch.tv/k0per1s (I am the Wraith)
Support Killers having Weaknesses, Support Counter play. Support Intelligent Gameplay. Thanks.

No, whip them instead. Not only is it more kinky, but it helps you tier up faster and they buffed tier 3 at loops. Very underrated.
Exactly, my mistake. Always whip the [BAD WORD] out of them.
-
I think your task as Survivor is to find a Dull Totem and then begin breaking it, but then press activate button to make it a boon.
Such as Killer you are bound by totem spawns.
Maybe Killers will have to setup their own Hex Totems in the future?
-
Regular Nemesis player here, them getting stuck is rare and sad when it happens. But you can fix it by whipping or punching them,
-
Did you Enjoy your time?
Did you feel you were playing the game as intended?
-
The best Gen defence is Survivors not surviving long enough to do gens.
-
I really want Clock Tower too.

Let’s play a game: Take a shot whenever @TheDarkTyrant posts something about Nemesis.
You trying to kill me?
-
If you get interrupted by chains, it sounds like chain hunt is going off. You want to prevent that. One player has to pick up the box and keep it, as long as they can and keep away from Pinhead. that way everybody else can do gens without getting disturbed by chain haunts. And then solve the box when Pinhead is carrying someone to the hook.
There are also many perks to use when looking for totems, Detective's Hunch, Small Game and Counterforce.

When there is a licence issue, Its really bad practise to get a crowd of people to persuade the other parties. BHVR is pretty polite, so they just keep it under lock and key until the issue is sorted out. Other game developers send their fans out to help persuade the licence holder and its really horrid to do that.
Now, we don't know if its a licence issue, but its probably a licence issue. Just wait and see.

tomorrow is Saturday.

I'd suggest making a new thread in feedback & suggestions to make this a suggestion to be seen!
Do moderators not gather ideas from comments made on posts only on new threads? Cause then I better start making new threads.

If you read my post at all, I said I know normally slugging is not reportable. I was asking because the killer was refusing to hook anyone the entire game, dragging the game out to over 30 minutes because they wanted to make us bleed to death on purpose, which by the the tutorial and all common sense, sounds like refusing to participate in normal gameplay.
That's slugging.

You can find the rules here... https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

My pasta takes just 12min in boiling water.
-
It gotta be Wraith's bell, Ding Dong you invis. But it kinda sucks in the Daylight.
Imagine that being light burned out 12 hours a day.
-
Yes, Please make luck have an effect on Chest Rarity.
-
Sure @WestManTooth210 It might do all those things, It might also not do all those things.
Wait times are already the biggest complaint, Lets not make it worse, more than we have to.
-
New Game Mode ideas are bad for the reason that it splits the player base driving up wait times for games, This is the worst idea.
However we should not be opposed to new maps with a different way of escaping than an exit gate
-
BHVR usually get licences from Horror or Slasher franchise. Street Fighter is a fighting game.
-
Maybe its coming back.
-
Idd say, Keep your eyes ready for 28th of October. @CornHub
-
Fair idea, but I never use that function for the same reason I never use the fun one.
>>>>>>> BHVR should relocate it to just above the exit button, then I might be able to remember to push it. <<<<<<<
Okay and now to prototype your idea aswell.
Okay, my Photoshop skills are not the best, But this is how I would do it.
If not for your idea about gauging even matchmaking, but at least for getting more votes into the System.
I believe more votes = more knoweldge for the Devs = more game design changes eventually.

I have never seen an add-on add new abilities to killers, just change their already existing abilities.
Keep believing.

I can't speak for OP, but from personal experience it mostly just comes from having a source of entertainment feel tainted by something out of your control.
Well the Killer can only do what they are supposed to do, they are supposed to bring about my demise.
How can I be mad about something that will happen no matter what?
-
idk. Power Rangers isn't even horror or slasher tangential.
-
I realized I'm too old to get mad about Videogames. I'm not trying to condescend at you here. Like think about it, We have so little time on this Earth. Why spend your leisure time being livid? It makes no sense. Also being calm helps you play better.
-
- Perk Tiers is part of Achievements, So there is going to be problems removing them with Sony and Microsoft.
- Perk Tiers don't really matter, you will be hard placed to find a Perk where a lower tier would not have done the same job.
- Getting all perks to Tier 3, is more a waste of time on your part than anything.
If you wanted to remove systems that increase the Grind without much benefit, Try directing Critique at the Prestige System.
Constructive thought on this:
- Perk Tiers could use some rebalance to make it better and less impactful.
-
I would make Killers have a base X% chance to make Survivors drop items on attacks by default.
